Um, I'm here to talk about the Timberwolves last night.
Um, wow, is all I have to say.
Uh, I understand it's a rule that you can't have your jersey untucked when you come into the game.
Ah, but I've never seen it called before.
Um, of course it happens against us.
That just seems really fitting in the middle of a game that's, like, kind of important because the thunder are gonna be, you know, they're gonna be a team unless we trade for D'Angelo.
In a few days, Um, there gonna be anything that we're gonna have to fight for a playoff spot with, and it's gonna be annoying because they're a tough team.
They have a few guys, everyone condom at the beginning of this easy, including myself.
Uh, because I was like, there's no way they're gonna win more than 35 games like No way.
And I think there's a chance they do now.
Ah, they look tough.
You'll just Alexander went crazy last night.
Um, but I wanted to talk more about the Timberwolves because, yes, the freak technical foul call happened, but we really let that game go.
Um, I can't believe that we missed three free throws under.
Yeah, Okay, uh, like regardless of the call, we lost that game like it was.
It was a poor late game performance by Jordan Bell, who missed two consecutive free throws.
He missed the free throw that he should have made and then made the one he should have missed.
Like I don't no idea why Ryan Saunders didn't tell him to miss that second free throw.
I have no idea, because if they miss that, they don't get that pass off from Steven Adams and then a shorter to win the game.
They have to shoot a full court shot, and it's like there's a very little chance, See if that would have gone in then it's like, okay like that.
That's never gonna I agree.
I think we're on site is a good coach.
I think he had a bad night, though.
He was off on a couple things like telling you if he knows it's a rule.
You got to tell Jordan Bell Hate Second, your jersey, Whatever.
Um, but yeah, like I think we we ****ed the game away.
Plain and simple.
We the free throws like I was mentioning before, um, towns only shooting, I think twice in overtime.
Like What the hell is that? Like There's no way Karl Anthony towns easily the best player on the team, Probably a top 10 player in the league right now, should only be taking two shots in overtime.
No way, No way, E.
Jeff Teague took more shots than he did.
Jared Culver took more shots than he did, and Culver has been incredibly disappointing.
And you're not giving the guy who's averaging 26 game and shooting a bunch of threes and making a bunch of threes.
You're not giving him the ball you're giving the guy who's shooting 20 whatever percent from three, like Jared Culver is.
I just do you get a great game.
I've been a Jeff Teague destroyer.
I hate Jeff Teague.
I don't think you should be on the team, um, at least not starting or playing as many minutes as he does.
And he didn't start.
He started not starting, if that makes sense, Like a couple weeks ago.
But I just I don't know why we do this every game.
We're also Mr my Boy Wiggins solo this way.
So that doesn't help to like, Because every time we play the thunder in Oklahoma City, Angel Wings decides, Hey, I'm gonna score 42 nights and then hit a game winner from half court.
Um, but maybe that was karma for that game.
Now that I think about it, cause last year, um, if you don't remember, like the Timberwolves, we're playing them in Oklahoma City, and Wiggins was having probably the worst season of his career.
And then out of nowhere, he has this 30 point night super efficiency and then hits 1/2 court or, like a logo, three bank toe win the game.
And maybe it's karma for that.
I don't know, uh, beats Mae.
Uh, but back to the overtime period, I don't get to watch it because I was at work, but I went back and watched a little bit.
We just looked totally, morally shot, like our brains were just France, like frantically running all over the place.
I don't know what was going on.
To be honest with you, like we were, um, not We just missed every shot.
We scored five points in overtime.
We lost by 12 in overtime.
Like that's just that's not a good look.
We can't lose these kinds of games if we're gonna be, You know, if we're gonna be here, like in the playoff hunt, which is something that we are.
We're in the playoff hunt.
It's just now we're below 500.
Um, but getting that game out of the way, I didn't really have a chance to talk about the Grizzlies game.
Ah, a couple of weeks.
They're not A couple weeks ago, like four days ago.
And my God, I don't think I've ever seen them play that disinterested before.
Ah, Towns had a good game, I guess.
But he was one of like that's one of the games where Wiggins looked invisible.
Um, like he has for four years.
Towns was just not good.
Uh, well, he was His numbers were good.
He didn't play like towns has been playing.
Ah, it's crazy how the Grizzlies.
The Grizzly Zahra.
Bad team, Like everyone knows this.
If you're gonna be a fan, you know, the Grizzlies are not good.
They might be tough.
They might have a couple tough players like John Moran is really, really good.
I like him a lot.
Uh, Jerry Jackson's pretty good.
I being a temporal span.
I love Tyus Jones, and I think you know, he has a really solid impact on the game, but I don't think he's a guy that can take over a game by any means.
Um, but Dillon Brooks, 22 times this year, has beaten the Timberwolves almost single handedly.
He scored like 30 and it was incredibly disappointing.
Tow watch, every shot seemingly just drop, swish.
Every time it was it was quite annoying.
Uh, but, yeah, like this.
These are the kinds of games that lasts that Memphis game and this game that we we need to win.
We need to win this game.
Town's needs to get more shots when Wiggins isn't playing town should shoot 26 shots.
I don't give a **** if he makes any of them.
He should still be shooting that many shots because he's the best player on our team.
He's one of the best players in the league and like there's just no, I know he's a center and whatever, but he plays on the perimeter enough to be like involved, you know? And I know he's trying to help, like you better a playmaking and stuff.
I know he's, you know, trying to look for other guys, get everyone involved, like I understand that.
But there comes to a point where you got to find a balance like there's guys, they all the elite guys in the league can find a balance when, Hey, if I don't necessarily have it tonight, I conditioned out because they're still gonna be on me and they're still gonna There's gonna be a lot of attention on me and then being like, OK, no, this is me.
I'm taking this and town seems to kind of figure out that balance.
I think he's doing a pretty good job figuring that out.
But I still think there's a little bit of improvement and last night and the night before was one.
I think, um, it was one of the examples where he needs to improve a little bit because that thunder game God, he should have taken so many more shots.
Maybe he wasn't open.
Um, but, like, run place for Just get him, try to get him open, try to get him the ball in the low post.
And then, like I said this on my podcast, Um, check out the structural podcast on Spotify Apple podcasts and the lead sports media dot com.
By the way, uh, we we were talking about.
I was talking about the timber rules, was going on a Little Western Conference monologue, and I was talking about how Towns is spending a lot of time in the three point line.
He's shooting almost eight or nine threes a game, which is that's a lot, but he's making a lot of it, so it's okay, but I'd still rather see him because he's been any two rules.
Fans know that Towns is a very effective, low post player, and that's something you don't get super often anymore.
They play a B 25 feet from the basket, and I don't think that's how they should play it.
And I think that's how we should use towns.
I think town should be playing an inside out game more than outside in game.
I don't think he should be playing like like LeBron kind of does.
Ah, and staying on the three point line and then dribbling in or shooting a three.
I think he should be starting in the paint.
Maybe run him like a little pin down screen to get him up to the three point line like six times a game, Whatever, get him his three point shots because he's drilling him.
But, you know, like it comes to a point where the seven footer on your team should be under the basket.
And, like I, I love Carl and I think, um, it's an interesting way to use him.
But I think there are certain games and searching certain matchups where you can kind of take advantage of the Thunder game.
I actually don't think he should have been in the paint.
I think, uh, keeping him on the three point line at the top of the key is where he should be with Steven Adams in the game because he's a really good defensive player and he's way stronger than Carl.
So I think that's good, um, strategy for that game.
But most other games, I think Town should be under the, you know, out of the basket on the block, getting post ups like he was for most of his early career.
Like his post, Fayed is ridiculous.
He's so good at catching the ball 15 or 10 feet for the basket, taking a couple dribbles and then turning and shooting like that's one of his better shots, and he doesn't use it that often.
And it kind of confuses me a little bit.
Um, his post moves in general are just super advanced, Um, and it's it's it's fun to watch, like I'm I'm 18.
So I didn't get to watch, you know, all these guys back in the eighties, seventies sixties, whatever.
Who were posting up and doing all these post moves and stuff like, I think, Ah, I appreciate the tips.
Um, I think Towns is a very advanced post purse.
I don't I don't know, like going back to this the old age of basketball, where it was more big centric, Um, like there's just not a lot of guys who didn't post up.
If you're a big and I didn't get to watch all that.
But I know for a fact like towns, his moves down low are pretty good because there's only a couple of guys who have better footwork than him in the league.
I'd say Joel the Beat has incredible footwork when they decided to put him close to the basket.
But they don't try to do that very often.
Um, I think they have.
Ah, like Marc Gasol has good footwork.
LaMarcus Aldridge has incredible footwork like Derrick favors Isa.
Good footwork, I But, um yeah, Overall, I just think towns needs to be closer to the basket in certain games like that Grizzlies game.
Jonas Valanciunas is strong, but he's not like and he is a good defender.
But I still think talents could have kind of cleaned up, down low and, you know, having him on the three point line the whole game, cause if he's off, then he's like if he if he stays three for 10 from three, he's not really having a huge impact on the game then, because he's never really down low.
You know what I mean? Like, he's never in the last like, I mean at least this season since we had Saunders, which again I like Saunders.
I think he's a good coach.
I think he has some creative offensive sets.
Um, and he knows.
I mean, we've had some fourth quarter lapses in defense, but overall, I think our defense has been pretty good.
Um, I don't know what our defensive rating in the league is.
I looked it up quick, but I know like Robert Covington obviously is a good defender.
That's what he's predicated.
His game on four, however long, Um, Josh a Kogi, is a good defender jerk.
Culver's a good defender.
Towns is increasingly becoming a ah better defender.
You know every day, seemingly like he's getting better at blocking shots.
He's getting better with, um, you know, he's getting just more in tune with the game and how everything works and he's seeing stuff better.
Um, Wiggins has become a good defender in his sudden jump.
I don't want to spend too much time on Wiggins because he wasn't Ah, he wasn't playing last night and I've talked a lot about Andrew.
It's for, like, recently because you know I love it. I love that he's back.
He's he's doing what he I should have been doing for a long time.
Like, um, but the thunder game Overall, I'm gonna wrap up here.
Uh, thunder game overall was really disappointing because after work last night, I was like, Oh, man, I see the world has lost like that sucks.
But then I went on twitter hand.
I saw the rest of the **** storm that was on Twitter.
Um, like they I I couldn't believe it when I saw that Chris Paul thing.
And Rob Reyes was like doing Ah, some like he snitched and he was like, uh, turning someone in or whatever it was, it was hilarious.
Um, after the fact, after I was mad, then I was laughing at it because it's kind of funny, but yeah, said Timberwolves last night.
Unfortunately, there's an overtime.
1 39 1 27 And then I talked about the Grizzlies, gave a little bit, um, that was just a bad game.
I think we need to improve a little bit.
And, um, also, you know, before I wrap up, I'm gonna do a little D'Angelo Russell talk, because it is currently December 7th, um, December 15th is the day that all of those contracts that were signed in the offseason you can been trade for them because the trade restriction on their contract goes away on December 15th.
And I think the Timberwolves, we gotta get the agent Russell.
Um, you might think I'm crazy for this theory that I have.
You might think I'm stupid, but I believe it.
I actually do believe what I'm about to say.
Ah, so it was a little odd to me that on July 5th, the morning after the one of the worst days of my sports life in recent memory, um, I I just I couldn't believe that Golden State that we're finally going to be like, maybe they're not gonna win the title this year like they were finally to that stage because they lost Durant.
They lost a bunch of depth.
They lost piggy.
But obviously there were, you know, trying to move something else.
So they trade for D'Angelo. Russell.
I threw my phone into a wall because it seemed so likely.
You know, that's that's a bit of an outburst at an overreaction for something that happens, that's outside of your control.
Um, I was mad, though.
like I I was I I was so angry because it seemed so likely.
Russell wants to come to the temple rules.
He were on the top of his list for teams that he wants to go to in the offseason.
Do whatever you can to get D'Angelo Russell on the team, no matter what it costs.
Because at the time, we didn't know Wiggins is gonna make that jump.
So it's like it.
Get rid of Wiggins and bring in D'Angelo Russell.
Right? And then this thing comes out where it's, uh, Golden State trades for and it's like what? Excuse me? Excuse me.
Are you kidding me? Golden State trade for D'Angelo.
Has a couple friends over for free agency.
And I was just silent staring into nothing for the rest of the night.
Um, but then I was like, that seems a little bit too unreal, right? Ah, I I just thought that can't be sustainable, I guess because that is Don't think Steph Clay and DeAngelo can play together.
Stephan Clay have made a career off of playing together, and I understand that, but I I don't know.
Although Golden State is the one place that it's like, Hey, anyone can fit here like we can all play.
We're just gonna launched three point shots all day long.
Um, but D'Angelo coming to the temples would be huge.
And the morning after that, July 5th, we received Jordan Bell as a part of the trade for no reason.
It was just a little weird, right? Receive a player from the Warriors who and we're in all this talk about, um, you know, life.
You know, the temples were gonna train for years.
The Russell like, that's what's gonna happen.
And then we are involved in the trade.
But we get Jordan Bell and not D'Angelo Russell.
And it's like, Well, all right, okay.
But then I kind of thought about it a little more, and I'm like, that's a little weird because we just get a player for the Warriors for no reason.
Um, plain and simple.
I think the warriors traded for him for the Timberwolves so that we could get off Jeff Teague's expiring.
And then we could keep the A's or Russell away from the war from the Lakers.
Because if the Lakers struck out on Kyrie, which they are on Kwai, which they did, they were gonna go over Kyrie.
If they struck out on Kyrie, they were gonna go after Russell.
And the Lakers with Russell is a completely different thing than it is right now.
They're even better than they actually are right now.
Um, and I think they were trying to hold D'Angelo Russell and get him away from the Lakers because the Warriors didn't have enough money to sign him and still be good.
Like they do that.
They have to know that they're smart organization.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think Golden State traded for D'Angelo Russell toe hold him to keep him away from the Lakers.
So, in case they were competitive this year, just in case they would have one less player to battle with, You know what I mean? Like again? Maybe I'm crazy.
So I think December 15th maybe not December 15 but trade deadline by February.
D'Angelo Russell is gonna be in the temples roster.
Um, again before I head off, check out the lead sports media dot com.
Check us out on Twitter.
We have an instagram.
Um, check out the stretch three podcast.
It's on Spotify Apple podcast and most importantly, the lead sports media dot com under the podcasts tab on the top.
Ah, if you want to check me out on Twitter, my twitter is at camp T l s m um And it's been fun.
I love talking wolves, but unless they do stuff like that, that's that's kind of annoying from last night.
But, um, yeah, it's t wolves lose last night, 1 39 1 27 They lose to the Grizzlies, which we talked about and they're gonna trade for D'Angelo.
Russell Mark it down right in the book somewhere.
I'll write it down because I know I'm the oracle.
I see things before they have I'm crazy.
Have a good day.
