Hey, what's up? Our body? Uh, it's been about 11 days, man, since Ah, since I've been alive on here, been a while, a lot of stuff going on.
Obviously. It's holiday time.
You know, Santa Claus is coming to town, right? But, um, yeah, I just want to get back in this because there's been a lot a news around the world of sports, especially when we're not Not just in Philadelphia, but, uh, but everywhere we talk about the Philadelphia Eagles to talk about the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia 70 Sixers.
There's been a lot of stuff going on that stuff going on.
Give me a couple seconds.
I'm gonna share this feed so we get everybody involved here.
I don't want to see three people joining. Cool.
Uh, I'll be right there.
Say, joy, get everybody going here.
Shares on Twitter for everybody.
I think we're good now.
Yeah, I think we're good.
So first I want to get into that's we.
Listen, I I know.
Ah, you know, the Phillies has made an unbelievable signing.
Yes, I did say unbelievable.
I really think it was something that was obviously needed, right? We need another picture we need, You know, we're gonna win anything and where you compete for any kind of world.
Siris, We need a pitch in saying, you know, And the question mark was Aaron Aaron Oil, which I don't think it's as big as everybody thinks it is.
You know, every picture has an off year.
Ah, he wasn't terrible.
Ah, there was something off on an entire team.
And now you know, you take everything out from pitting pitching coach dating, coach T head coach.
You're basically reinvent the entire bench when we're talking about coaching and we'll see what happens.
And I think I think we'll see a different era no, this year and use on a guy like Zach Wheeler.
Zack Wheeler is obvious.
Listen, he's not Gary Cole.
He's not Stephen Strasburg.
But I will tell you this.
I definitely will tell you this that you never know.
This is the kind of picture that can come in and all of a sudden just take off.
Let's remember what Mac's shares were signed from the Detroit Tigers to the washing nationals.
Everybody thought he was white, overpaid.
Every said the Washington Nationals were absolutely insane.
for giving him that amount of money.
And look where Mac's shares there is right now.
Okay, this could be the same story line for Zack Wheeler.
Zack Wheeler is 29 years old.
We didn't give a 10 year contract.
We didn't give an eight year contract.
We're talking five years, five years? Ah, $180 million.
About $23 million per. Okay.
But this kid, he's got the fourth highest average fastball in the major leagues.
He went eight and one in the second half of the season last year.
He by by no means by no means as he even hit his ceiling.
And that was my point that this whole signing waas You talk about guys like Madison Bomb Gordon, right? You listen, we know what, Manbo.
We know what mad bomb is.
We know his ceiling is even a 30 years old.
We already know he's reached his peak, right? We already know that potential is there.
So why not go after a guy who not only is good right now, but we also know that is stealing hasn't even been thoughts.
Okay, so that's where I think about Zack Wheeler.
Zach, where Collins here is instantly the number two guy.
So right now you go, Nolan.
And you go, Wheeler.
That's a nice one, too.
You needed three, right? You need a three.
Had shares her at Strasbourg.
And they had Korben.
Remember, Corbin was a guy, you know.
Here's an interesting fact finding mission here.
Let's see how this all plays out.
Because last year we all remember the Phillies went hard into Patrick Corbin, and they decided not to sign Corbin because he wanted to. Six years.
They only wanted to go five.
They didn't want to go six.
Okay, so they signed.
When we talk about pitching and said Corbin goes in the nationals, he has an entire like he has such an unbelievable year.
Ah, lights out year in Corbin.
Makes us look like idiots for not signing him.
Okay, But now we sign Zack Wheeler.
So if we would've signed Corbin last year, we're not signing Zack Wheeler this year, so it's gonna be interesting.
Over the next two or three years, I kind of compare it to and say you know, who would have been a better option for the Phillies going forward now.
Are they done? And again, this is Ah, very interesting question.
Okay, Very interesting.
Because you have a guy in Bob Nightingale writes for USA Today.
They're all coming out saying the Eagles, the Eagles.
I'm sorry the Phillies are going to hell heavy after Anthony Rend own.
And they're still inal Garrick on Stephen Chow's burn.
I don't see them.
Sorry, I don't believe it.
I think that's all smoke.
That's all a smokescreen because I don't know how they're gonna afford these guys.
And I understand there's no cat, you know, we talk about the luxury tax, which is $200 million that threshold.
It depends on that.
He wants to go up or below it entirely up to the team.
I just don't see the reason why we would go that high, you know? Listen, I would love it.
I would absolutely love it.
But we have to be careful here that we don't turn into a team that's strictly spends money on any player available that thinks they're gonna build a championship team by the almighty dollar because money doesn't value chemistry and That's one of the biggest issues that I have.
We cannot go in this year in and year out and continue to just buy people.
We have to start developing our young nucleus.
We have to start developing a bullpen guy.
Okay, more than a Hector.
There's air there.
Sorry. The Dominguez. Okay.
We need other guys that come up like a ranger.
We could polish him off a little bit.
I got It's coming through the ranks.
That's where these teams that Dominy at Winnie's World Series.
That's why they're both.
But is that strong? Okay, I know what kind of got away from starting pitcher starts off a bullpen.
I'm just talking about how we develop guys.
So if we could get anything rundown, absolutely.
I'd be all for I just I don't see it happening.
Listen, they have to do so many things in order to be able to afford a guy like anything. Rando.
And here's the scary part.
Okay? And I told him this yesterday.
I did a piece on a fox sports the Gambler.
Okay, again, listen.
Daily taking, which all breaks every every day Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 I mean, 3 to 6 and a high heart rap.
I heart radio app.
Ah, you can stream it and it's a tremendous listen.
You'll hear Jigsaw.
That's me every day, you hear? Hear me at 3 50 ish.
Okay, I don't fancy segment.
Now, I'm gonna start doing some hot.
When I was on that song about MLB, I specifically asked a question.
What about the Braves? And reason why is what about the Braves is we know what's up.
Trevor. Thanks for joining, buddy.
Uh, been a while, but I've been in M I A for about 10 10 11 days, so I finally got to get back on track.
Ah, but, you know, if you look at the Atlanta Braves, and I I under I understand about the money issue, but we have about nine guys that total the entirely the Braves payroll.
Okay, a couple of those guys won't be David Robertson isn't even playing for us.
Okay? That's the issue about buying talent.
And that's why it scares me a little bit that we even know what is exciting is hell.
Trust me, it's exciting.
This hell it really is.
But let's remember when Ruben Amaro was here, whether we agree with him or not.
When they were locking up and they were spending tons of money, they were locking on young guys.
They were locking up guys that were homegrown, like Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley and Ryan Howard.
When we went out to the freezing mark it or the trade market to get Arroyo's Wall or Roy Halladay, it wasn't like we went and got every Roy Halladay on the market.
Now we went after one, so it's a little different from, you know, 2008.
That's right now.
Ah, but do I think I don't know? I think I'll add some pieces.
It's gonna be interesting to see what they dio do.
They keep a gene Secor Day. Try to train.
Is the Genes accord? Do they try to trade Reese Hoskins? I think they tried to trade Reese.
I d'oh! Here's a guy who seems lost.
And there they haven't had any talks with him about an extension going forward.
So that to me that's a telltale sign that says, You know what? They may be trying t take Reese and turn him into an arm.
Okay, Because make no mistake about it.
Ah, first baseman in major league baseball and its 30 home runs and 100 r b I's hits 2 50 is a dime a dozen.
Yeah, you heard me.
Seriously, it's a dime a dozen.
Okay? He's limited in his ability.
Now, if he's hitting 40 to 45 home runs, Yes, we're talking about something different here.
Okay, But if you mean to tell me that I could get a number one or Ah, high high ceiling number two and a bullpen piece for Reese Hoskins.
I'm probably making a trade because then listen, then you could take that money.
Okay? You If you could trade Reese Hoskins and Gene Secure, you could take those two salaries, and that equals a evening. Ren, don't.
You could bring Alice Bone and having played first base.
Now we're talking.
Now we're talking about something here and and their options, I think the feelings may have It's gonna be very exciting.
The thing is, you win with pitching, you die with pitching.
I don't care how great your lineup is.
You need a solid staff, and the Phillies are not gonna be able to go 123 against teams like the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals and probably the New York Mets.
But then, this is all for naught.
So that's something they have to look at.
No, let's have a little Eagles trying to do is about 30 minutes segment tonight, guys, and who's with me out there? Who are we revived? Now that we watch this, you know that that track of a Dallas Cowboys team last line who loses to a very bad quarterback in mid Strabinsky and a very average, probably below average seem in the Chicago Bears? I mean, their basic giving us life.
They're giving the Philadelphia Eagles the rope.
It's like a tug a row between Jason Garrett, Doug Peterson, who wants it more, right? That's and and nobody wants to grab it.
Nobody wants to take hold.
I don't know about you, but I'm kind of scared I for this game I am.
You know, this could be Eli Manning's you know, going out party.
It's could be his swan song into retirement, right? I mean, a spy over Dale Jones.
He knows us, you know, we will know each other.
We're familiar foes we know about.
Hey, we gotta get the Eli.
But again, it comes out there.
No dartboard yet? No, I'm not saying they're born.
It is, You know, you know, he's the guy that puts this entire line together, But, you know, we have to get pressure on Eli Manning in order to get him to beat us.
Are on order for us to beat em.
I should say so.
He doesn't beat us.
That's what we need.
The happen, okay.
And this is a very important game, even though it's against New York, John Ian's.
I mean, we kind of control our own destiny.
Got to come down to the Dallas game when we have lost against Dallas, and I got to be honest with you guys, I'm starting to turn a little bit.
I'm starting to turn and say, Let's just get in and see what happens even though we're probably probably sandwich to go 40 Niners and it's gonna be hard as hell to try to get past that.
But I'm to the point where I say, you know what? Let's ride.
Let's see what happens.
Maybe, just maybe, you know, a flit.
Ah, switch gets flipped.
You know, I have seen Doug Peterson No good for Doug.
And I'm not a dog guy.
Okay? I'm gonna tell you something right now.
If you told me tomorrow I could drop Doug off of the SEPTA side and I could pick out Ron Rivera and put him as a head coach.
I'd sign up every day of the week, sign me up for that.
Okay, But I will give Doug some kind of credit in the sense that he put all these guys and pads this week.
They weren't happy.
That something you really don't do we get, you know, you're getting a double digit weeks in the season.
You don't put your guys and pads, okay? It's just not what you do.
And he did that with sending masses.
Okay, so that's something that I think it was needed.
And I think it would be interesting to see where it goes from here again.
No, Jordan Howard again.
Looks like Okay, so to be on the road, Mile Sanders, I think it's gonna be interesting.
Look, you know you go, Mile Sanders, Stay calm, Barkley.
Right? It's a qualm.
Barkley isn't Is the same guy this year.
And that's because of the high ankle sprain.
And anybody who knows about a high ankle sprain sports they basically tell you, sir.
Sorry, ma'am. I'm still congested.
Little under the weather.
That's why I was wanting to go back 2030 minutes storing this.
So, uh, because my voice is probably not going to stay.
Because if you want to hear a typical jinx all rain, you're probably not gonna get it, cause I don't think go that high tonight.
Ah, but, you know, if you talk about Miles Sanders versus take on Barclay Cyclone Parks, they had the high ankle sprain and a high ankle.
Spring is You know, you talk to the others, they tell you you're better off.
You should just break it.
Okay? That's how severe the high ankle sprain is.
It could be worse than a clean break.
So that's been bothering him. He's not 100%.
It's gonna be a torrential downpour.
Okay, during this game, we're talking about one or two inches of rain.
Okay, down the link.
It's not gonna be ideal.
So this is gonna be a slop game, and the ball could be take one were bounced.
One. We're deflection.
Who knows what could happen? But I'm starting to feel it.
I'm starting to feel like maybe we finally.
I hate to say it because you don't think we need a wake up call.
You know, Week 13 in the season.
But maybe we got a week up.
We can call Miami.
May I wake up call? Maybe.
Finally, we've seen it's this season.
Is there for us to take hold off? Listen, you never know what could happen.
You really don't.
And as much as I was, you know, I was on the Ah, I was on the boat that says, I don't want to make the playoffs because I don't want Howie Roseman t think false hopes.
I think this team is better than it is, really doesn't have to Ah, basically transform this team into something that it's not.
I I didn't want to see that, but now I'm starting to think, you know what, So be it because I just realized something today.
Course Owens doesn't have any playoff that experience.
Okay, so let's get in the playoffs.
I left get Carson Wentz of experience behind center.
Whether we like it or not.
Let's get Miles Sanders some experience behind center.
Let's get Andre Dillard some experience on the line in a play off type atmosphere.
That's something I think that we need to make happen.
And I think you know what? It's quite possible that we could d'oh! Ah, that we could basically do that.
And I think that, you know, even though we would play somebody like the San Francisco 49 hires Ah, you know, 18.
What's up? Thanks. Checking in.
Uh, if it was, somebody gets San Francisco 40 Niners.
Hey, it is what it is.
Even if we lose the game, at least we got in.
We got some experience.
The one thing that I think we can all agree on there has to be.
Major change is on this team.
You watched Dallas team and obviously looks like they packed it in and they gave up.
You look at the Philadelphia Eagles and you see the coach gonna sideline.
It's just not what it waas.
It really wasn't.
And I'm not gonna beat it to death about the Frank Reich and de Filipo thing.
But now you hear these coaches like this might grow.
Ah, no press, Taylor, you hear these guys and you start to really think, you know, you start to think so.
You know, I'm all fun about you guys, but I'm all for that's just rebuild this staff, right? Let's just let's bring Ron Rivera in if you know if he doesn't get a head coach job and he just wants to be the offensive coordinator and, you know, and take a couple of times, you know, off the sidelines being the main guy that's gonna Rama bear in here, that's gonna Jay Gruden is offensive coordinator.
Let's start building this thing the right way back to where it waas okay, And let's get a scouting guy here that could scout talent in the draft, because that's one thing we desperately need.
It is killing us. And we were.
We're the oldest team in NFL, the oldest team in the NFL, and that has to change.
We have to start hitting on draft picks.
It just it's a must, you know, you're gonna you're gonna go into this wood one corner, okay? And which is probably gonna be Jalen Mills.
Ronald Darby will not be back.
He definitely won't be back inside That right now of Auntie mags will be back in control.
But I think Jalen Mills of the guy that you keeping a new either draft a top notch corner or you bring somebody else in here or trying to trade for one day.
I'll tell you what you look at the way Marcus Peters is bawling out there, you know, in Baltimore, you know, this is what happens.
You bring a veteran in that nose, had a ball, and, you know, Sky's the limit for that team.
And kudos John Harbaugh.
Listen, I'm gonna to buy our own horn here, and I'm getting some NFL talk because, you know, I was one of the guys in the all season that was hyping up Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Okay, because guess what? That team, they build it the right way.
Number one they built through the draft.
They took some of those assets they gained and they traded for Marcus Peters.
They got a guy Mark Ingram, who was us, you know, a workhorse back that they hand a rock and feel comfortable handing Iraq so that protect Lamar Jackson, not have Lamar Jackson have to be the main.
Well, guess what? Wake up.
It's 2019 and Lamar Jackson is the man.
Anyway, he is that ridiculous.
He worked on his mechanics.
He worked on his is scheme.
He did a lot of film study.
You could see it.
It's paying off.
And this guy, he listen besides Russell Wilson, what would you say? He's the best quarterback in the NFL right now.
If you were building S s anybody listening right there on the right Anybody you know? Because obviously I can't see the other listeners because they don't have a sports cancer account.
But if you're listening to me right now, your name is here on the right.
If you were starting NFL franchise right now, today, who would you pick to be your courting? You could pick anybody.
You're starting an NFL franchise.
Who would be the quarterback you pick to be understanding that Game one that you're a pill that seem around, is going to Russell Wilson is gonna be Shawn Watson is gonna be Lamar Jackson.
Which one of you picking is? That's how you're right now.
As much as I love Lamar Jackson, I have to go.
I really I really think Russell Wilson is the best quarterback in the NFL, so that's the guy I'm going with when you talk about.
If you're building in an NFL franchise, No, let's win one.
The MBA and let's move on to our beloved Philadelphia 76 years.
And let's figure out what in God's name is going on with words hard over the turnovers on this team.
And I've been talking about this for two years, and it's getting ridiculous now.
They lost the lifes of Wizards 1 91 13 The Washington Wizards absolutely stink.
They should probably be in the G League except for Bradley Bill.
If nobody could put the ball in a hoop.
We made every single one of those players on that team look like MBA All stars.
That that can't happen okay, can happen, especially at 15 turnovers between your two best players.
I don't know what's wrong with Jo Ellan be.
There's something wrong with Joel.
I don't know what it is.
I don't if it's attitude issue out of, it's a mental block.
I don't know if he's hurt.
I'm not sure what it is, but he came back off that two game suspension and he has not looked like the same guy.
Listen, and I know for all you people out there you gotta talk Stats.
You're gonna give me stats here to give you 25 13.
You're gonna give me 30 and 21 you're You know what? I really don't care, because guess what? At the end of the day, if Joel scores 35 points a game, but when there's two minutes left in the game and he gets triple team and he doesn't understand how to get out of the triple team and had a pass out and he lets the ball dribble office foot or when he does that tremendous Bill Cartwright looking wind meal, okay? And he hits me with the ball and it goes out of bounds and he walks down the court, guess what.
Those two possessions.
I'll take them back over 35 points any day of the week because that's the problem with this team.
And I'm sorry, but Brett Brown, he's gonna have a look in the mirror.
Ellen's gonna look in a mirror.
We could say we were one about Brett I like the guy.
I think he's a very infectious person.
I think he obviously he knows the game. I get that.
He's been trained by Popovich, who very well is one of the best NBA coaches of all time.
I understand that.
But sometimes a message falls on deaf ears.
Sometimes a new voice is needed to get either more out of your players.
You're not the bad habits off of young players, which I think is a little bit of both here.
I think we need to get a little more out of Ben.
I think we have to get more consistency out of Joel, and I think both of those guys, you know, we're the real liver die with Ben Simmons, Wallaby, right? We already know that were delivered by with these guys.
But they cannot get to you to be careless with with the basketball and and that's my main focus here.
And the other thing that I'm focused on to a prep around and we've talked about rotations.
This is every coach, defensive and offensive rotations differently.
I understand that.
But my issue with Brett is I feel like there's no consistency with it.
I feel like there's no match up philosophy with it.
I feel like he's just doing it because nine minutes, let's get four guys that up to 12 minute mark.
Let's get two more guys in where the three minute more.
Let's get four guys that.
I don't even think he's looking at match ups because I don't understand why it's a revolving door with Raul in that.
So in Trey Burke and four Khanna, Matisse, What's his thigh bowl is playing? Unbelievable.
This did the energy that he's bringing to that teeny on the court is something of the of no other.
It's something that we haven't seen on this team in a long time, you know? Listen, you know, this could be a stretch here, and I'm sure somebody called me out on it.
But, you know, I think about when I look back at this filled over 76 history and I say, who got me excited.
Who was that Energizer bunny who was that spark plug that would get us out of our seats? I guess you're swinging our rally towels, gets out of our seats at home, And it was Allen Iverson now, obviously, but she Sybil was not Allen Iverson, but he's bringing that same kind of energy.
He's working, you know.
He's Branson kind of effort.
And I'll tell you what.
Sky's the limit for this kid.
If he consistently hit down that three ball, you know his hands are able are electric, they really are.
His hands are electric, they're all over the place.
And he's finally learning how to keep them control and not get in foul trouble.
That was one of the biggest thing on Matisse.
Okay, that was one of the biggest things we talked about, that Matisse needed to grow up a little bit, and I think that's what he's been doing.
So I think he's a big part of this going forward.
But Joe well, in bad need to get right, we could say whatever we want.
We could talk about Ben saving games, the end of his defensive prowess.
Okay, I understand that we could talk about Joel knocking down threes, knocking down fadeaway jump shots.
Big men should be able to do that.
I completely great.
I get it, but we have to look at the other side because the other side is what's killing us.
Listen to New York Knicks.
They you know, they fired her head coach today and I get it.
We'll dance about it, right? Because they hired him in March of 2018.
They really didn't give him a chance.
They weren't happy with the product.
They just weren't happy.
So how much of the lease are you going to give? Prep around? How much more do we give? Prep around? That's my issue.
How much more do we give breath? Because I'm about done.
My lease is about up.
It was It was kind of up last year.
But now that I'm seeing the same exact product on floor, I can't watch more and more press conferences.
And here Yes, we must get better.
Yes, we're working of this.
These young guys who see them build and grow.
I'm tired of hearing the building and grow.
They're already grown.
They're already built.
Okay, Now it's your turn to take this team and take us to the next level.
And we cannot go to the next level and we're turning the ball over 15.
That's one. It sounds a game.
It's just not gonna happen.
I don't know what he's teaching, but it needs to be changed.
Ah, man, My throat hurts already.
Uh, quite so we came into this year, we automatically thought we're gonna be the best team in the East.
We should be the best team in the East and we're number five and the patients didn't get Victor back in.
Who is coming back? So this is going to be a very interesting division.
And and here it is with the Eastern Conference.
The window is very small people.
Let's make no mistake about it.
The window is very small because next year, next year, before free agency would starts when Kyrie is healthy like he is right now.
And Kevin Durant comes back in this healthy, they're gonna be the favorite to win the NFC, the win, the Eastern Conference, they really are, and I I have no issue with that for them being the favor.
But the issue is that I have is are we going to be able to outplay them? And that's something I don't know.
Not with the lackadaisical effort, not with the turnovers.
Not with the band ball moving.
That's not gonna happen.
Ben needs to shoot.
He needs to stop being afraid.
Okay, I'm gonna say this again when he starts getting hacked or people get in his face and they, you know, they either misdirect his shot are getting online early.
He starts getting scared, starts getting scary, doesn't want to go to the line.
That's a problem.
And I'm sorry people with the problem isn't going away.
So that's something that needs to be fixed.
And I think before, obviously, you're not gonna get rid of Ben.
You're not gonna get rid of Joe.
Well, but what you are gonna do is you're gonna get rid of Brett.
You gonna bring a new coach in here with a new philosophy, and we're going to see what happens.
So before we go, let's Let's look at this.
We have the Eagles Giants on Monday night.
Okay? We had six years of Sixers Cavs tomorrow night.
The Phillies, Obviously they're still in pretty spring training.
Wrote winter means are coming up.
You know, I I've been blessed to be able to have this opportunity.
That's all. Be on this microphone.
I've also get a little upgrade.
Where now I'm gonna start talking Major League Baseball for at Fox Sports. The Gambler.
Ah, so that's an interesting feet for myself, because I I enjoy free agency in major league baseball.
I enjoy the winter meetings.
I enjoy the offseason, probably more than I enjoy any other sport.
So it's definitely something for me to learn and something I'm going to take great pride.
So I can't wait to do that as well.
Ah, again, That's our by.
Listen, always retuning.
You know, years ago, about half hour, 45 minutes, I'm gonna hear from still a little under the weather.
So I kind of an m I a for the last 10 or 12 days.
Ah, you know did this tonight.
I'm gonna do something on Sunday night again.
We want to win in Sunday Night Football. Halftime.
Right. Have time on Sunday Night football.
We will recap that the action of the NFL like we do every week, we will preview war the Eagles game.
More injuries come out for money, and I obviously Hey, Molly, What's up? Obviously, the Eagles.
Ah, the weather report probably isn't gonna change all that much, eh? So we already know it's gonna be slop fest, but we will recap The NFL will go around the league Fantasy football players Listen, fancy football playoffs are right now.
You know, if you want the insight, listen to my fantasy segment every single week, right? Every every single day, each day daily on Fox sports a gambler and tell it equips on breaks Ah, for around 3 53 55 I'm usually on there.
You can hear Phillies see what the next next year was.
The drop is gonna be DD is going to be a picture, uh, before we g o I'm gonna throw a couple names out there for you for my baseball fans and we talk about, you know, obviously we're talking about freeze the hot stove at the end here.
Chris Archer was ah, guy I heavily scouted.
And the guy wanted from Tampa Bay, a solid young arm.
One of the past pitchers of baseball.
He gets traded for a Thanh Thio.
The Pittsburgh Pirates and Ecologist phases himself out.
He's not the same guy.
He's very controllable.
He's still very young.
Maybe the Pirates aside, you know what we're gonna get.
We're giving up on this experiment already.
They were able to pick up a guy like that.
