What's up, everyone? I know I never do this.
I usually just do space on the games.
But, uh, the Knicks fired David Truesdale, so I figured I'd jump in a little bit early.
I'm probably another one of these tonight for what's actually happening, that I care about the Detroit Pistons playing Indiana Pacers.
But, I mean, any time an MBA coach gets fired this early in the season, I feel like it's worth talking about, especially because I also, while I'm not Knicks fan, I also kind of cover the Knicks.
I write about the next for the lead sports media.
Not as much as I do the Pistons, but it is the second time that I cover.
And I mean, I happen to write a piece about this, like, three weeks ago, talking about how I did.
I don't think David says there will be fired, man.
My feelings have not changed, so I might get a little bit more so than normal on here. I'm pretty calm.
I just came from work, so I'm a little bit more awake.
I'm a little bit more energized and I honestly think this is ridiculous.
So you're kind of kind of get a little bit more of a fresh quarry this time.
So, um yeah, next fire.
David, please Do we've kind of seen this coming for a while, whether it's the right decision on who really knows.
Uh, personally, I think it's a joke.
I don't necessary think Fizdale the great coaches, obviously 21 of the three while he was with the next.
That's not good.
Uh, leaves a lot to be desired he But what was he supposed to d'oh The rosters he had he's had are terrible.
He came in last year when he tows them over other organizations gaming with little pedigree.
He was fine in Memphis, but he wore out his welcome.
You didn't necessarily little Marcus.
All sure, I get that really highly touted in Miami.
Hey was there with LeBron themes.
And honestly, I feel like if he had been available to summer, I think he probably had been running that because, hey, LeBron are tight.
So not what? What is that? Literally nothing.
But he's pretty widely respected, and, um, I feel like you got a really short shake last year.
He comes in with pores.
He came into coach Porzingis.
He said he took the job over other jobs because he wanted to coach Porter Zynga's course and dismiss the whole missed missed last year.
And then you traded him for nothing, uh, with the promise that you're gonna get Fizdale superstars to Cochin Zion coach. Cool. Awesome.
That happen? Absolutely not, because they're the next.
Instead of that, they gave him 18 power forwards, argue Baird, who had sneaky like.
I mean, obviously, it's only sneaky.
He's the third pick, the draft, that he's solid.
I mean, you can see flashes already where he could be a pretty good play maker and also a pretty lethal score.
Once he grows into his body a little bit, he's 19.
Um, Dennis Smith has barely played this year.
He missed think about half of their games with the loss of his family, and he hasn't been great.
Uh, Mitchell Robinson spine.
I think at best, seizure third or fourth best player are a good team.
They're not a good team.
Julius Randle's disappointed, Uh, you paid him a lot of money, and he's not been very good.
Then It's a lot of Bobby Portis and Paz Gibson and Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock has not been able to play.
But Reggie Bullock? Um, Marcus Morris, What is he supposed to work with? Here they they This offseason was so bad for the Knicks that they apologized to their fans the day they signed on the players.
They literally put out a statement apologizing to their fans.
But it's Fizdale fault that they are off to a bad start this year.
Yeah, it makes sense to me, Dude, that doesn't look like the team is connecting with him. No.
So, I mean, there's obviously criticisms of Busy.
I'm not saying he's perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't understand giving him less than two years to win.
With a roster that looks this bad, they are continuously getting blown out.
I'm not saying they're not.
How are they supposed to win? I'm waiting for some to explain to me what they are supposed to do to win these games because they're not good.
And you knew that coming in that they were going to be at the bottom of the conference and they are at the bottom of the conference.
So, uh, like it just I'm a big proponent of kind of one mocha who's actually accountable.
And we'll get into that a little bit later with Steve Mills, because, honestly, the fact that he has his job is such a joke.
It's very similar to me the way that Jason Garrett has his drug cowboys.
Still, because if you're gonna be a puppet, that gets you a lot longer than actually being good at your job.
So it's just Fizdale has not succeeded, but that should not be a fireable offense.
After what? What is that? 104 games he was given to figure out this team? I don't think that Gregg Popovich would click out this team 104 games.
So, um, you could reincarnate Red Auerbach.
And I don't think he's gonna figure out this team 104 games.
They're not good.
You've given him nothing to work with, and he was supposed to figure it out.
Okay, well, the issue here, as it has been for I want to say, roughly 25 years that went to the finals in 2001.
So I guess I'll get some governmental 18 years eyes James.
The one and it will be the issue until he leaves and he's not going to leave.
Next, fans, this is your life.
Uh, that is the biggest handicap in all of professional sports.
Is having a bad owner.
And you guys have about owner.
I know I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but he is atrocious.
He does everything it can to spike the team.
He thinks he's got it all figured out.
And he hires yes, men that will just listen, rev it actually fixing the problems.
And this is the staff coming up on it from the ring and put this out because you have to play both sides.
You do absolutely have the reference sales record as the coach because just 2183 is a ****ing record.
It is not good for most teams.
That would mean it is fireable.
Then you put through the three years I guess you're in changes enough for that to make that decision.
Sure, even if you're gonna allow that.
Steve Mills, as since he has started working in the front office 13 years ago, it's 356 156 with one employee aqua appearance.
I'm school if that's it there, because it's ridiculous.
I can't imagine.
And this is in the market with a ton of pressure.
But it doesn't matter because he does with a woman once, he will not push back, so he will stay in charge and, like it is, that to me, is one of the biggest issues with the MBA.
Right now, I'm not one of these people is gonna freak out about the ratings.
I generally try to stay pretty positive, but what's hurting the livery? The ratings right now.
To me, the biggest thing that's hurting it is there are no huge marquee teams in the Eastern Conference now because LeBron is not here.
And I love like we talked about the Bucks a lot of my last time, and Johannes is phenomenal, But that's it.
Like the Celtics are fine, but not really gaudy.
The Bucks are good drug, insanely good, not really interesting or gaudy or anything like that.
Filly's okay that they draw some attention, but bluffing crazy.
And then it's Indiana who doesn't really get people excited.
And Toronto, which has never really.
I mean, they're not gonna affect the American ratings. They're just not.
That's just how beatings work.
So you don't be great if New York was good on and because if they were good man, the ratings would be great.
If anyone is remembers that the year, the de Mille's playoff season with Mellow and a Mari and Place and Chandler and J.
That team was fun, and it was really exciting for for the media, for what have you people really got interested in that next team? And then it went away and the apartment tomorrow fell apart.
Obviously, I'm not gonna blame Steve Mills for that.
I mean, you max out tomorrow with the insurance on the contract with somebody who had a history of injuries, so you kind of knew that was coming.
You know, in the future for Melo whenever and I love mellow. Hello.
I'm not criticizing mellow when you knew you were giving him and you gave everything away.
Anyway, it goes back to that, and you might say that, Hey, that was That was 10 years ago.
What's the difference? That's the point is that it's not an issue with Fizdale, who's been here for 18 months.
It's an issue with the guy who has been here for 13 years, or Dolan, however long he's been here creating the issues.
And please ignore my pets.
You decide to come in at this moment.
My dog burst of the room.
My guinea pig starts freaking out.
I guess they're upset it up.
Is they'll too? So it just doesn't make much sense to me that you would do that.
You'd be okay with someone who's ruined your franchise for some number of years.
But it's fine that we'll just if you end Fizdale that's gonna fix everything.
So I don't really know where they go from here.
There's not really a path forward.
You're not gonna be good this year and honestly, and I've said this from the start covering the next.
You don't want to be good this year.
You weren't gonna make the playoffs anyway.
It's not like you're gonna win a title, so get another topic.
That's why you traded portend guess because it gave me the same thing that you trade him but still don't get the stars that you obviously we're going to miss out on the cover of the next and Kyrie and Durant said they didn't wanna play for Dolan.
Not not play for business.
Didn't want play for Dolan.
But Frank, get out here.
It's it's it's mind blowing.
Uh, it's and then it comes out.
They're gonna go after Mark Jackson, okay? I mean, there's a reason why he was in Golden State and they were moderately successful.
Then, as soon as he leaves, they go on to be a dynasty.
I think Mark taxes fine might be the best book they've had since Mike D'Antoni not be good.
And that's because they don't know what they're doing and keeps e mails until they get rid of him.
And ultimately, until they get rid of Dolan, you're not really gonna fix anything with this next team because they're just shuffling around the deck chairs, hoping that these minor fixes will cover up for the fact that there is just an issue with their infrastructure and it goes all the way to the top.
But guess what? Forbes came out with their evaluations and the Knicks of first ever $4 billion team in the league.
So it gets like that get rewarded because they're in a great market with great fans, albeit like I mean, they're negative tortured, But they are great fans.
They care about their men's basketball.
I don't know how I root for the Pistons when they're born, So what can I say? Uh, so I feel bad for next dance today.
I don't really see anything positive coming from what's gonna happen here.
I think that it just really leads to a lot of negativity for next for the next.
They also dismissed Keith Smart, who was the lead assistant.
So the rumored possibility for the interim coaches.
I like him as a player.
I think that's kind of crazy that he was already going to be an interim head coach on Dhe.
Then, like I said, if you're gonna go after Mark Jackson, good luck.
I just I don't I don't think that really solves any of your issues.
I think it's just prolonging the inevitable.
But, hey, they're already saying in 2021 the honest is a free Agent Han Max cap space.
If I'm a team, I'm calling every day about Dennis Smith Jr about Frankie Latina.
About Kevin knocks, argue better.
Mitchell Robinson are available. That's fine.
I get it, they're gonna wait probably two more years and then give up on that, but I don't even know.
Do you think those guys are great? But their value has to be in an all time low because this organization has no idea what it's doing.
So it's time to rescue them from this from this disaster.
It's very frustrating.
And somebody who roots for good basketball above all else.
And, um, I tried to operate logically.
Yes, I'm a fan, but I try to operate from a place of thought.
And if you just sit back and think about what they're doing here, it just doesn't make any sense.
So, uh, I intended for this to be a shorter one, but I went off on a rant.
So, um um, animals interrupted.
So it's one of those days.
No one's happy about this, Dale, but well, I'll probably I'm gonna try to jump on again tonight after the Pistons game.
They play the Pacers tonight.
Um, honestly, expect a win.
But expectedly that revolts, except for the other night, I guess about I think they're pretty poised to get a good window or so.
Hopefully we see some good Detroit basketball tonight and then the patient going to play the Knicks, which Keller ties all back together.
My two teams kind of playing a very similar sort of themes.
Obviously, they're in the Eastern Conference.
You can conclude so many teams, um, I saw probably work to put up one of the trade secrets.
Is you kind of time of firing so that you're in line for a win.
After that, I don't think the next could be anybody.
Like I don't think they can feel confident they're gonna go impede any Pacers.
I think you're looking at a pretty historically bad next year.
But you know what? The draft limits Sell that to Johannes Neck.
Not this coming from the next summer.
Hey, I guess hope is really all you can sell this point.
But until then, time to go to work.
