Everybody's Jerry Bailey unwrapped sports.
Now we're gonna have been a little bit of a hiatus as a plea, uh, Thanksgiving break College student.
You know things happen.
So I am back this week.
A lot has happened since we last talked.
We look at the AMC playoff picture to start off.
Well, look about talk about the A C plant picture than the NFC playoff picture.
Um, each of the top six teams currently couple teams in the hunt for each conference, and then we'll see how their schedules stack up against each other and where I see um, then, while playing out who I think the top six will be after the end of Week 17.
So start with the A F C.
Baltimore is the current number one seed.
Their schedule remaining at Buffalo Jets at Cleveland and then Pittsburgh.
Um, I was coming off that big win against the 40 Niners.
They've been on a tear.
The last month they beat the Patriots to beat the Texans.
Um, they beat the 40 Niners they've done going into this stretch.
I didn't see them doing that.
Well, I didn't see them being the patrons I thought they would lose to San Francisco.
I thought that the Texans would beat them and they just absolutely dismantle them.
So the things that Lamar Jackson that offense have been doing, obviously is front runner for the M V P Right now, um, he's been absolutely out of his mind defensively.
They've been great since they got Marcus Peters from the Rams.
They went in, just dismantled the reins well on Monday Night Football.
So the things that this team is doing that the best team of football are none.
There's no doubt about that.
But when you look at the number two seed, who is the Patriots? They've got the chief's coming to Foxboro this weekend.
I don't see that going to work for the Patriots.
We'll dive into that a little bit more in my prediction show later on in the week before the Sunday slate of games.
But starting with Baltimore, I think that when all is said and done, they will finish this last four again, stretching three and one, putting up a 13 3 on the year.
I think they lock down the number one seed.
I also think the Patriots finish 31 down the stretch and then get that second seat locked down as well.
I think that the chief's take the step over that Texans, they'll be that three seed.
And then I think that, uh, the Texas will be the four seed.
Um, when all is said and done in this playoff race S O, we like a Houston.
They've got Denver this weekend at home and then at Tennessee.
And then they go to shoot, um, Tampa Bay and then hose Tennessee for their finale.
Now the Titans are an interesting team because they've been on a tear since Ryan Tannehill took over for Marcus Mariota.
You look at the things that they've done.
They beat the Chiefs in this little stretch.
It is embarrassed Jacksonville a few weeks ago, and then they have that great comeback against the Colts this past weekend.
I think the culture pretty much done.
Their strength of schedule is pretty.
Are they? Go to Tampa Bay this weekend? A team has been lighting up the scoreboard with Mike Evans and Chris Guy went on offense James Wilson playing really well, so I like what Tampa Bay is doing.
There are three point underdog going to Tampa Bay.
I don't think they're gonna win that game.
I think that Tennessee is the more dominant team, Um, in contention for that wild card spot, but their schedules and very easy.
They got Oakland this weekend in Oakland, opened it.
Just get embarrassed by the Chiefs, about 40 to 9 and a Rod.
So they're coming off an embarrassing loss this week as well.
That said, Oakland, despite the embarrassing loss, has been a strong football team this year.
Uh, that's not a whit of shoe and went for the Titans by any stretch of the imagination, especially on the road in Oakland.
Ah, hard place to play.
So I'm gonna give the Raiders the wind off the bounce back, and then Tennessee has Houston twice and New Orleans in between.
Both this means I think they'll be Houston once.
I think they'll beat them the first time around in Week 15 on.
But then I think they lose to New Orleans and on at home against New Orleans, and I think they lose at home against the Texans.
Well, so Ah, tough stretch coming for the Titans finishing up because I don't think Oakland's gonna be, um, I guarantee when I wouldn't be surprised for, say, if they want, but I don't think they're going to.
I'm gonna pick the Raiders to win the game.
I think they'd be Houston once, but I think they lose to the Saints as well, so they'll finish one and three down the stretch.
If I'm right, that puts them in 88.
They need a lot of help from other teams to get that six Wockhardt spot over the team who currently holds and not being the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are sitting at seven and five as well right now.
Now, a lot of this comes down to tiebreakers within division records because the Titans and Steelers do not play each other this year.
So if they both finished nine and seven inmates, so be it.
If, uh, come down to the spot, they would have to determine who gets the 60 by division record.
So let's say that Pittsburgh were to go in and beat.
Um, excuse me if if Tennessee were to be Houston both times but lose to other games and they finished nine and seven, they would get in over Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh loses to Baltimore because of better division records.
So Pittsburgh needs a little bit of help as well.
Many Tennessee to lose some more.
They need a winter more because they got, I think, is gonna be a tougher game in Arizona this week.
Kyla Murray, Despite what we saw last week against the Rams, I think I'll marry in that offense with Cliff Kingsbury.
And the weapons that they have on offense has been getting progressively better.
I think last week was an outlier.
We haven't seen them.
This man would like that at all this year up until this point.
So I don't think that that's gonna be an easy game, especially because the Steelers offense has been so dead this year.
Duck Hodges gave him a little bit of spark last week through the long touch under James, Washington said.
We looked good doing that, so they got a little bit of ah, a groove going going on in Pittsburgh right now.
Offensively, it's been better than what we've seen all season, but at the same time, but they're nowhere near what they need to be to be a riel threat win.
If they do get in the last they do together.
If they do get in the playoffs, I think they're gonna be a one and done.
Doesn't matter who they face, whether it be Kansas City, whether it be Houston there got to go either to Arrowhead or to Houston.
I don't like the rods and either of those games.
Um, no matter who's the quarterback, whether it's Rudolph or Hodges, there are getting the job done because you look at the offense, but they're often the lines great, but they have to rely a lot on Benny Snell, who up Benny Snell has been playing extremely well the past few weeks.
And relief of James Connor.
James Gunn has been incredibly disappointing this year.
James Washington really come into his own at receiver, but they're not true.
You know, elite guys at those positions, the other playing with a lot of young guys.
Then he steals a rookie, James Washington, getting to his real, his first real starting time of his career.
Last year was kind of disappointing.
Start for him is really picked it up the past month or so since the Indianapolis game, really, for Pittsburgh.
So James Washington, playing better. Deonte.
Johnson's been getting better.
Is the years going on? He's got a couple long touchdowns.
Vance McDonald been kind of quiet, though offensively, for Pittsburgh, so but their defense is obviously been with what's carrying them since the Mekka Fitzpatrick trade there.
One of the best defense is in football.
Top five and takeaways.
Top five fumbles.
They're among the league leaders and sacked T. J. Watt.
Eyes coming off.
He's got, I think 12 and 1/2 sacks is here, as well as the first stealer in history.
I believe Toe have multiple 12 and 1/2 sacks seasons, so T J. Ward isn't blank.
Phenomenally, he's a candidate for defensive player of the Year of the studio's.
Got a lot of great players on defense, obviously, and that's what's really carried them.
But they need a lot of help from the writers and the Texans.
Um, if they want to hold off Tennessee because they both finished with a nine and seven record in Tennessee is the better division record.
They're gonna take that six spot.
Oh, then we look at the number eight team in the hunt right now. That is Oakland.
I don't like there the rest of their schedule, though.
They got Tennessee, I'm gonna give him the win there.
And then they got Jacksonville.
Up in the air again because I think with Gardner mentioned, they're a different team.
We'll see how they played this week.
Oh, that'll tell us what we need to know more about the week 15 match up.
But then they've got at the charges and then at the Broncos.
Both those games aren't shoo ins, either, because Denver their defense is a lot better than what the record, says Brandon Allen, a quarterback offensively, they've been doing okay, kind of inconsistent.
They need to start relying more on Phillip Lindsay in the run game.
I would say, um, but Drew lot came in this past.
We can play phenomenal Portland son have a nice touchdown catch on.
And then they were able Thio believe they beat the charges.
So the things that the Broncos are doing right now with your lot Drew luck looks really good and I think that making that quarterback changed from Brandon Allen over to Drew Block A something that the Broncos just wanted to see what they have in life it took him the second round for a reason.
They might have found a second round gem, much like Andy Dalton for the Bangles back in 2010.
So, UM, I like the change.
A quarterback withdrew lock.
I think that makes Denver's offense much more dynamic.
I think he's obviously a better quarterback.
Them Brandon Allen S O.
I think, having that along with Sudden and Hamilton, um, and other young receivers that they do have on that roster.
I think that's gonna add a whole new dynamic for the Broncos.
And that's going to be hard going for the Raiders and a Week 17 matchup, which is obviously gonna have a lot of playoff implications.
If there were if they were to be Tennessee, Jacksonville and the Chargers, even then, if Tennessee were to lose a couple games and Pittsburgh were to lose a couple of games in Oakland would win one or two there still, in that conversation of being the six seed in the playoffs.
So Oakland, by no means is out of this.
I know that, you know the loss last week might change a lot of people's mind.
They're still sitting at six and six on Lee, a game back of the Steelers and Titans.
There's no a little bit of help, as do Tennessee, and Pittsburgh needs to hope that the Houston Texans help them out later on this year when they played the Titans twice.
So a lot going on in that race.
But Buffalo, who's wanted on that five seed? I think they're pretty much locked into that spot.
They're gonna play either Kansas City or Houston.
Um, I think they could give either one of these teams a game.
Josh has made tremendous strides this year at quarterback.
Really like what I've seen from him defensively, though, we have talked about this on here.
How great they are defensively with secondary with Hyde and White employer.
The front seven they got at Oliver, a steel in the draft, remanded.
Menzies really been playing well so defensively, they're playing great offensively.
Start to make more strides.
They're starting howto.
They're figuring out how to use Cole Beasley and John Brown offensively, a strong core running back.
So they're using with military in court.
So I like what I'm seeing from the Bills.
They're getting better by the week they had a win on Thanksgiving over the Cowboys in Dallas.
That was their signature one of the year because we've been wondering if they were gonna be able to be the solid team because they haven't really done that.
You have the season up until Thanksgiving, so the Bills are a real team, a really good defensive team. Josh Allen in that offense.
We're getting better by the week, and I like what I'm seeing from Buffalo.
Um, what's that over to the NFC, where the Saints currently hold that number one spot.
They host the San Francisco 40 Niners weak.
I think the 40 Niners bounced back from that loss against the Ravens.
Um, they come off that game in which they held Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to eight points.
The defense look absolutely phenomenal and begin.
We got to Baltimore last week.
I mean, it was a clash of Titans.
We we knew it was gonna be close and competitive.
That came down to the last second with Justin Tucker kicked a few ago.
It's unfortunate for the 40 Niners because, you know, if you're in a situation where you got to rely on Justin Tucker in this on 99 times out of 100.
You're not gonna win that bet.
So, um, they did pretty much all you could to contain Lamar Jackson.
He only had 101 yards passing.
He did run for over 100 yards, though.
And that's something that everything the NFL needs to figure out how to stop.
Um, complaining time.
Um, but I still like the 40 Niners a lot.
I like what they're doing.
I think they're gonna go into New Orleans and get the win.
I just think that New Orleans is doing for another lawsuit.
They're not gonna finish 14 to This is the best thing that they faced all year.
So I'm gonna give the wind to New Orleans there, over the Saints.
But then the rest of the way, I mean, I, like, have the same ST schedule.
Look, I think that they're gonna host the clothes.
I think that they're gonna be the colts.
We're gonna go on the road to beat the Titans, and then we'll close out at Carolina.
That's even inspire their coach, Ron Rivera.
Um, but you can check out me and Kurt Tompkins conversation about on the NFL on rat podcast.
You can find that on Spotify and apple podcasts.
Um, so hit the thank you.
Everybody supported that, by the way.
So I think they go three and one down the stretch.
Finished 13 and three.
I think San Francisco goes, Um, excuse me.
I think they dio undefeated down the stretch and finish solid as well.
I think they're gonna be the number one seed.
You look at their schedule.
They're currently the five seed because the NFC West has 2 10 and two teams the Seattle Seahawks and the number two seed, which will get into in a minute.
But the sea, the 40 Niners to go to New Orleans.
I think they win that game in an upset.
And then they have Atlanta, the Rams and the Seahawks.
I think they win that grudge match against the Seahawks.
Now the Rams might be a team you could throw a ****** wrench in.
If they lose that game, so be it will still be 13 and three.
And I think they would still be the two seed because I have the Seahawks finishing 11 and five.
Um, I think that they will go down to either the Rams or the Cardinals.
I think Carlos could play spoiler in Week 17.
So I'm gonna say that they'll drop down a little bit.
I think they lose to the 40. Niners is most.
They're gonna leave, lose at least one more game.
And I think I might pick the cards to play spoiler little bit just because, uh, as good as the record is right now for the Seahawks, it's calmed down a lot to last second Winds and Russell Wilson having to play do his magic defensively.
They have a lot of holes offensively, not too many elite weapons.
Tyler Lock. It's a very underrated elite weapon.
I'm not a big fan of Chris Carson or Sean Penny.
I think they're, you know, solid 12 punch.
I don't think any of them is particularly great at anything.
The offense of line has gotten better, which is something that they have lacked in the past couple years.
But it's still not the best, Um, but defensively they have a lot of holes that I just think you're gonna get exploited.
We've seen Arizona gave the 40 Niners run for the money both times that they face them, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if Seattle we go into Arizona and lose that game.
So I do have the Seahawks finishing at that five seed in the wild card on sea and San Francisco being the number Tuesday. Number three.
I have Green based sitting at the number three spot.
I think they went out.
Um, I actually got three and one because I get to Minnesota.
I think that Minnesota is a team that could very easily win that game.
Um, Kirk, Cousins and playing really great so far this year on, I think the Vikings were gonna hold down that six and final spot.
So the patterns you go three and wonder for.
No, I don't see them losing more than one game. Their schedules.
Washington Chicago at Minnesota at Detroit.
I don't see them losing more than one game down that stretch.
They'll be able to hold down that third spot in the NFC and the NFC East.
I mean, this is the worst division we've seen in a long time.
Um, says the Panthers won the NFC South, going 78 and one.
I mean, this is a bad division right now. the Seahawks.
I'm sorry, the Cowboys sitting at six and six.
They're the number one seed in the NFC East, currently their remaining schedule to get to Chicago tomorrow and Thursday Night Football.
Then they have they host the Rams, and then that all important game, Week 16 in Philadelphia and then Washington.
I think they close out relatively strong, though.
I think I'll give them nine and seven and put them in that theater.
See style after us often.
The Eagles last week, they found a very interesting way to lose to the Dolphins after being up two touchdowns on.
Then they're just gonna finish.
So Dallas has the better roster.
To me, they have a better receivers.
Carson wishes that doesn't have anybody to throw to, UM, no weapons on offense.
The secondary from the Eagles is really bad.
Even though the Eagles schedule is very favorable, they play the Giants twice, and then the Redskins and Cowboys.
I think they can close out of the three in one or, um, I think the best going to 31 I don't think they beat Dallas, so even then they're gonna be at eight losses, so the best I think the Eagles news ate and ate, and that's not gonna be enough to take the throne away from the Cowboys.
So I think the Cowboys, we're just gonna get in kind of bite a fault.
And there's really bad NFC East division.
And then, like I said, I think Seattle takes, um, the number five spot and then Minnesota is the number six a wild card weekend to meet.
If I'm betting right now, well, look like this.
It will be, um, Kansas City hosting Pittsburgh because I'll be the three seed I believe over the Texans.
And then it will be Buffalo and Houston.
So I'm gonna take this.
Used to be Pittsburgh, and then I'm gonna take the Texans to be the Bills.
And I will set up a lot more coming forward.
Um, and then and then the NFC wild card weekend.
If I'm guessing right now, I'm gonna take it.
Will be Dallas in Seattle.
I think Seattle beat Dallas, and then it will be Minnesota heading to Green Bay, where the Packers and Vikings will play for the third time that year.
So be be entertaining Walker weekend.
That's what happens.
But then you look at the teams I get left out.
Like I said, the Eagles to be eight, mate, and then the Rams.
We're still technically in it.
I don't see them going too far.
Obviously, they're the impressive win last week against the Cardinals, but the rest of their schedule Seattle at Dallas at San Francisco and Arizona.
They haven't looked like themselves.
At least the range that we saw last year.
You went to the Super Bowl.
They haven't looked like themselves whatsoever.
Uh, by the time you get a Week 14 if you're not playing the way than anybody expected to, I think you found kind of that your identity and I don't see them changing any time soon.
I think they lose to Seattle.
I'm gonna give him the wind over Dallas just because Dallas has been far too inconsistent.
I think they lose to San Francisco, and then I think I'll give him the wind against the Cardinals close out the year.
But it's not gonna be enough to get them in the playoffs.
No finish just outside, UM, a few games back of Seattle and Minnesota.
So a lot of football left to be played, but again.
If I'm guessing right now, um, it will be Baltimore, New England, Kansas City, Houston, Buffalo, Pittsburgh as the playoff teams.
I have Baltimore going 13 3 and New England going 13 and three.
Kansas City 12 and four.
Houston 11 and five, Buffalo 11 and five.
And then Pittsburgh at nine and seven.
Finish out the year.
And then for this teams who are gonna be in the bubble that get left out.
Oakland finishes nine and seven, and then Indianapolis in Tennessee.
Both finished eight and eight on the year and then for the NFC.
I have San Francisco holding down the number one spot.
I think they go 14 and two.
New Orleans number two at 13 and three.
Green Bay 12 and four.
Dallas nine and seven is the division winners in the wild card teams.
Seattle 12 and four, Minnesota 10 and six for, um, the playoff races for the NFL.
I got a crazy season thus far.
Still got a lot of time to go see him.
