That being said, as you can see with the secondary upgrades, that should read as, ah, having some technical difficulties with my computer keyboard.
Nevertheless, we will still dive right in here.
We've mentioned wanting to come on and start to highlight the next position group that we want to take a look at.
Probably come back in later this evening and dive into some of the draft prospects I may touch on a couple here.
Primarily, we want to do first and foremost is dive in on the free agent class, will be coming out, focusing on the unrestricted free agents first and foremost.
And just seeing where the Giants may look we talked about before highlighting what they have currently on their roster, obviously when you dive down into that secondary unit, we know that you have a player in generous Jenkins that we assume is going Thio going to be off this roster next year.
But, interestingly enough, was talking about this with Andy MCA wits as we had wrapped up our last podcast recording how generous Jenkins is going to make some where Lee in the $11 million range of the Giants conceive themselves a chunk and take a cap hit that's under four million where they had caught on this offseason.
I know some people thought there's a lot of chatter around him being a target at the trade deadline of this past year, But now, at this point, there's really not gonna be any reason for a team to make a trade for generous Jenkins.
He's getting paid upwards of 11 $12 million for next season.
No team is going to jump in to trade away a draft asset to get a player that the Giants more than likely would be cutting and then be able to sign probably to a much friendlier deal.
From a team standpoint who's looking to take on that little take on contractor guys will be 30 31.
I think Jenkins will be in his upcoming year.
So from that standpoint, can't necessarily assume that you're going to be getting value back for him this offseason.
Which then brings up the idea that I mean, there is a situation of scenario here where generous Jenkins remains on this roster.
From the simple standpoint of, if months, you're gonna go into free agency and get a lock down corner to come in and start, which maybe you would then we'll start to take a look at some of those options.
Otherwise, though, what you're looking at is this plethora of players.
A lot of them young, of course, on this roster.
And if maybe Jenkins is taking a step back in terms of the quality of his play, the stage of his career, he could start to become a part of that rotation that you think that you're you're running out there to try to give defense of start offenses, different looks, and then if he's better in, if he looks better in zone, we would work better.
And, man, we know that we talked about Baker.
He would be better utilized if it was in press coverage.
Okay, So Baker may line up there with me on the other side for one play, and then you go ahead and you shuffle it and you bring in Jenkins to replace Baker.
Maybe deal gets kicked inside of the slot.
Now, you bring in Ah, guy like Valentine to, you know, to work a couple of downs.
You know, you have love on the back end there with Pepper.
So that certainly is a scenario.
One of the things that we can't get past your two.
I will take a brief moment here to bring up that Daniel Jones is injured.
I know that I'm here talking upgrades all against this. A little more in depth.
Daniel Jones will be injured and out for this one.
So Eli Manning is going to start against the New York football Giants.
This one will be against the familiar foe in the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.
But I'm gonna come back in and we'll dive into more of that stuff there.
Ah, little bit down the road.
Maybe, you know, as we move through the weekend, that's a Monday night matchup.
So plenty of time to get on the chatter.
Andy and I will be discussing that on our Friday podcast as well, so I know that is going on just from a giant's perspective.
Not absent to that, however, this is more of our isolated incident here.
So we talk about this secondary, and now we're thinking about the possibility.
More than likely, I still see also, as we talk big picture to cover what we want to accomplish here in this offseason, more and more, the engines are starting to turn, building Momenta behind the idea.
That patch is gonna be out, and that means that the entire coaching regime we'll be out.
You don't see anyone is going to hold over.
It's not like Shula's been calling offensive plays, and therefore, maybe he would take over as your head coach.
I don't see that being likely.
We've been talking a lot about better and the issues that he's had on the secondary.
So you don't think that he's going to come back.
Total total overhaul in terms of coaching, and then we're even seeing the possibility of maybe it is also time to move on from Dave Gettleman.
Lot of offseason conversations are gonna happen between Maren Tish.
One of the things that we course highlighted was highlighted on the radio broadcast.
I'll I'll say that it's gonna credit to Donald Greco on the Michael Keisha bringing up that Mera and Tish are 50 50 partners.
This isn't a 49 to 51 steak where one has more control than the other.
By and large, Mira has been the one who's colt made a lot of these decisions from football perfected.
But the last couple of years we've seen tissue more involved, certainly seen about in front of the media.
More often, he spoke about saying, and he did.
They do here the fan base.
They want an impatient with them.
But I assume as many people are trying to say now, the Tisch wants to come in and kind of overhaul this thing and break it down to the bare bones.
New GM new coaching staff reevaluate and really just do do the rebuild like most teams would where you fully commit to it as opposed to, you know, half in half out.
Um, that being said as these turnovers happened, then you get into the roster and a guy like generous, Jenkins probably becomes an easy player.
You move on from that in that case, because he's just an older.
He's an older cornerback, doesn't have any ties, you know, to what the new coaching regime new GM would be.
Ah, and then you'd likely see him moved on from.
So if that were to be the case, the whole rosters up for evaluation.
What are we looking at when we start to go into this free agent class? You know, right now, some of the higher will say higher price players and then also hire an age, though, because they're coming off those first big contracts for themselves.
You're talking about out in Denver.
Chris Harris, 31 years old.
Jimmy Smith, 32.
There in Tennessee, a 29 were really highlighted the other day.
And that doing the Patriots gained Devin McCourty at 33 28 year old Bradley Roby for Houston, also a player that we've highlighted.
None of these names, though, really, given their age, make a ton of sense for the Giants.
No way. Talk about a guy free, same thing.
Run through the entire secondary here as well, and that would be Devin McCourty.
I don't know how much a guy that has left in the tank, but he has played to a very high profile ball focus rating this season.
But as we talked about before, we're highlighting thinking about Van.
No way over there with the Patriots as well, being understood to free agent in that linebacker court players that come out of the out of the out of that system.
I think, you know, you have to be wary about dedicating too many dollars to one of those players because you don't know how much they're benefiting from the totality of the parts around them.
Not that I think that the recording wouldn't be valuable but to a team.
But again, that's a guy that signs a contract for a team that's looking to compete rate now looking to win a championship and is maybe a piece a way through this list.
A key to leave 34 years old Rodney Rodney McLeod there in Philadelphia at 30.
I again don't see that necessarily being the case, and then you get down.
And just so you know, you're talking about getting his range of where some of the players that fall more into arrange age wise that the Giants start to look at because you're looking to get guys in the door here that can be with you over the next four or five years on, be playing at a high level and as you come up over, hopefully, fingers crossed the next couple of seasons.
By the third year, second or third year, they're hitting their stride.
And maybe taking that next leap.
Eso one of the players you can talk about is Ronald Darby in Philadelphia as well.
Now understood a free agent when you see that back to back players there, free safety and then, ah, cornerback, you assume that the Eagles will look to it, that he gets some money.
But again, Philadelphia Eagles don't have a ton of cap space as well, so they have some difficult decisions that they're gonna need to make for themselves, certainly before they move into the offseason, who they want to keep it, who they're moving on from, um, to take a look.
Let's pull up on pro football, focus here and have a look at Darby and how he's raided out there for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, 26 years old.
So I think you certainly falls into that range from a giant's perspective about a player that you may want to bring in.
Uh, in this evaluation process we we've highlighted.
I think Sam Beale has certainly shown a couple of flashes here in the short term.
And it's nice that we have another four games for him, right? You continue to evaluate and know what you're gonna get out of him going forward and even even a player like like Baker, who obviously struggled.
And maybe it felt like you weren't necessarily thinking you're gonna get him in there that quickly.
Not that he wouldn't be playing, but would he be playing significant staff City 1.
There the pro football focus ready? So one of the guys that the Giants could probably stay away from heading in this free agency period a CZ we trained out.
But Baker, now this time share with Beal, it's allowing it to do a couple of different things, put them in better situations and then again, also, we highlight this idea about potentially a scheme.
Change is going to be incredibly valuable for some of these players and really understanding what their value is.
A guy going to a second yearly.
It's okay, whereas maybe guys that are going to their third year and that's we look on B J Hill on the defensive line.
What's happened to him this season is that symptomatic of scheme and coaching or the symptomatic of talent level, because it looked like he was going to be a solid piece for us last season.
Not so much this year.
Dalvin Tomlinson, who we thought maybe it was fading from last year, has come on with the head of steam this season.
And all of a sudden again, you start to think about rebuilding this roster and looking across that defensive front and saying, Are we bringing back Leonard Williams? Was he brought in and he's brought in by this GM GM goes out the door now, All of a sudden, he walks in free agency potentially, And while you may think okay, we get 1/3 and fifth for him without signing him.
The fifth doesn't become 1/4 and then also you gotta think about compensatory picks.
If you were to walk in free agency, So I think that will kind of come out in the wash.
They're a little bit if that ended up being the case, moving through some of these other cornerbacks that we take a look at.
Ah, 28 year old Denard.
They're out there in Cincinnati.
Familiar name, certainly.
For some of the New York football Giants fans, we could take a little peek at him as well.
One of the things that, first of all, you don't want to shy away from rosters that haven't been having such a good seasons.
And thinking that, you know, it's hard to really get a read on some of these players and know what they're quality really is.
Here's a player, though, that is rated out, you know.
44 speed out of Michigan State.
Drafted in 2014 by the Bangles, here's a first round pick.
He's played to a 75.
3 pro football focus rating. Again.
A team on the rebuild.
So how far down the line or they're looking to kick there? Can I think that certainly is gonna pull up a additional note here so that I can highlight these players.
Normally, I have my hadn't pen going right now of a Currently I had you not have it available to me.
Actually, you know what? Take one little brief, step away from coverage here and grab my pad because this is, of course, what we were till we've been talking about building our big board, starting to look into that draft in the free agency and talking about what we want to accomplish as we move forward here.
So making a note that would you a 2028 years old dark Wes Conard would certainly be an improvement.
The outplays you saw jacket.
There's only about a 64 Q b R rating on pro football focus.
He'd be an improvement.
The question maybe comes down to What is that contract look like? And what are you getting in terms of value for him? Ah, as we highlighted there that 75 was attempting to do, I believe it was a 75 they want.
Make sure you get the number right.
3 pro football focus rating on the season.
And from that standpoint, you're talking about right now you feel like Well, Bill is going to be back here for you.
Baker obviously is still gonna be here.
Ballentine, maybe you look at a guy.
Um, you know Grant Haley, after two years, maybe this city gets made on him against so much stuff is dictated by regime change or not.
But I do think a guy that has played well, like Denard at 28 going to 29.
You can you get him to a three year a three year contract? How would that feel for you? There's actually a spotlight here over on a pro football focus.
Taking a look here.
Ah, consistency being the concern for him and feeling in not knowing what a ceiling could be.
Probably has a bit of a cap to himself there.
And you wonder what that would look like, right.
But they highlight in here is well, run Stop grade six.
The month amongst cornerback.
So there's run support ability there.
Certainly from the position.
Uh, you know, just trying to clean anything else that we can take a look at him.
He's a nineties.
This is what you kind of want right, and some of these highlights help you get a balance.
We've often talked about other positions here on the roster.
And how do you get this pro football focus? Great.
6 run defense for in this past season for Denard, these rain has worked out for 90 point to this year.
However, his coverage agree was just a 60.7.
So how, you know, how are you going to look around the league when you talk about free agency for the Giants and read up on a guy like this and then say, Well, our biggest concern is the coverage end of this, and all of a sudden you're talking about a player that grade that overall solid.
You go inside the numbers and you have to start to think that maybe you need to look elsewhere, and I would certainly just from those numbers alone, I would go ahead and probably cross this guy off the board.
We highlight him because he will be available on.
The Giants may be looking to improve their positions, but if you start to see this name come up, maybe you're a little more concerned than than than you would like to pay.
How about this for a name out there in New Orleans, right unrestricted free agent currently making 3.
788 million this year.
Is this a name that if this regime were to turn over Given, given that he has improved his place, certainly over the over this past time we traded him away last year.
He's looked good in Ah, in New Orleans, will go ahead and highlight some of his information as well get into his pro football focus number and compare it relative to what we've seen.
The reason why you shy ways, because we moved on from him, certainly from a giant stage.
But we still just 25 years old.
So you're talking about getting a guy back in the door.
You know, this is one of those players where, and I will say we talked about the BJ Hills, even the bakers of the world.
Sometimes players need X a few years to figure things out.
I know that there were, you know, off the field or locker room concerns in and around Eli Apple, but a guy who was raided out to a 68 pro football focus rating.
Ah has had four solo tackles, 56 targets given up, just 33 receptions allowed there.
So we got a couple of assists of forced fumble not giving you anything in the interception category.
Listen, I'm not telling you that there is a strong chance that this is a player that the Giants will take a look at.
But given the fact that he is 25 years old and is currently playing to a better rating than I think just about any of the, uh, any of the Giants on this team right now the cornerback position, you know you come, you gets the comeback.
Forget to bring him back in.
You bring him underneath a new regime, maybe a new GM in a new coach in a new system.
They have no attachment to this player.
And it's not unlike you know, you talk about Mayor is ahead as the head of the franchise here and along with Tisch now, But you have to think maybe there's an opportunity for this guy to come back in and be a contributor.
Not telling you is gonna be a shutdown corner for you, But could you be a part of the stable of cornerbacks and you can utilize in different situations and put them in the best possible? Ah, spot to be effective? So now you're talking about Abeel? Maybe a guy like you laugh and take any player that plays around in that same level and saying that where they best in if one is veteran impress one's better in man once veterans own.
Maybe we start to look at in the short term here, thinking about Ur**** low draft in, maybe someone you know in the 2nd 3rd or fourth rounds there in the upcoming 2020 draft, you bring him in.
What is his area of expertise? We still want to get a lock down corner.
There's no way around that.
But you're not going to get to lock down corners, plus, ah, high end slot guy all in one off season.
It's not gonna be the case.
And if you can spend money wisely and spread some money out across a handful of players that situationally improved for you, then maybe that that's certainly around that you can look to go.
We go into the cornerbacks real quick here.
Ah, Valentine has been getting absolutely beaten up on the season so far, playing to a 36 rating.
Right now, Baker's playing to a 37 pro football reading.
Ah, Sam Beale is playing to a 47 rating right now on this roster.
Grant Hayley is playing to a 53.
So you're actually seeing is trending in a better direction than not, Ah, Antonio Hamilton, who hasn't been getting time on the field, play to a 45 generous Jenkins as we highlighted playing to a 64 best guy that you're having on this team currently getting into those safeties.
Now you talk about a Julian love, and here's a guy in short, Listen, not a lot of snaps, right? Five solo tackles, one interception, two targets, two receptions given up.
We know how limited it's been for him, right? But he played last game as well, and he's giving you a, uh, we just highlight some of the players within the Giants roster.
He's currently playing out to 1 87.
7 Now, little girls.
Little see this, so you'll have a better sense of him by the end of the year as we get into those numbers and understanding, You know where his true value lies? Uh, yes.
Sorry. I wanted to find out where it's true.
Value lies, But certainly you're you're going to see him come down to what it is, and you'll know what you have on him on the back end, and then you talk about can you pair him with peppers, move on from a guy like Antoine buffet and see what happens there.
Sorry. I saw our Q three.
Good to see you back in here.
And the, uh, the Catholics fan and the entire F c sucks.
That's pretty accurate.
Yeah, well, you know, as I pulled some additional information here looking into this free agency class, this is one of the things that we talked about on the podcast to, uh you know, is that the Giants are so bad.
And then you look in the division and you think, man, they're so bad.
And they could have you could have been right in the thick of this.
Remember the cowboys? Right now I have two wins against the Giants.
You talk about how good or bad has had the cowboys been when you're playing teams like the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants four times a year.
You have to think about that when you're talking about the overall record of your team and whether or not you think they're trending in the right direction.
And I think sometimes you know you can say it has been in the news Jason Garrett what's gonna happen with him and whether or not uh, he should be back next year.
The fact that you got four layup wins and then you talk about even the Eagles struggling to this point in the season, You gotta look at that when you're evaluating the talent level that you have on the Cowboys.
And then what you've gotten in terms of results because you thought that offensive line alone man.
If the New York football Giants could have the Dallas Cowboys offensive line, we'll be in the same position.
I think you know your way around 500 marks that the value of having quality across your front like that, Um, so, yeah, it's gonna be an interesting off season in a lot of ways, will guarantee back, won't he? If he ruled out from there, who do they look to bring in? Then you start to get into, I think a lot of of interesting names for on Rivera.
Now they're on the market again.
You still have guys like McCarthy.
You've got other veteran coaches.
Then you're going to college ranks.
Uh, and you talk about Lincoln Riley? Maybe, you know, certainly.
So there's a lot of possible turnover here within this division.
I don't think the Eagles are any concern from coaching standpoint, but all three other teams could be looking at big turnover here in the off season.
Then you talk about also big decisions to make within these rosters.
Obviously, the New York Giants have their concerns.
You're still talking about the, uh, you know, the Coopers and the Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys world.
You've already given the money to Ezekiel Elliott.
I can make that case and then Giants and have a lot to talk about.
Once you get to three years into a running backs career starting to give that big contract out, um can become concerning right, Andy.
And then when you don't see the results on the back end of it, not that Zeke, you know, just having having down off season, having some bad games, play calling isn't helping him out by any stretch of the imagination.
Some of these matchups as well.
But you have to take that step back and think we know what are we talking about here? Is this guy worth that money? Where else could that money have gone on this roster? Who else is behind him on the depth chart? When you talk about your offensive line and having a quality there, I think having a strong offensive line first and then worry about the pieces behind its second is obviously the way you like to build things from a giant perspective.
We've never done that.
We continue not to do it.
We talked about that Jerry Reese regime and him not being ableto understand building in the trenches.
You know, you bring in Gettleman.
You think that you're doing that yet? Instead, you turn around and and you know you make mistakes giving money. Donate, soldier.
Oh has been It has been a missed their rumors.
It's certainly not the answer.
Right tackle Zettler has been our one bright spot.
And then you even have to think.
What are we talking about When we look at Hernandez? Just his consistency specifically in the passing game.
So, um, R Q three running, running me off topic, and that's totally fine.
I love getting some of the interaction here, so yeah, the NFC sucks.
Uh, keep it plain and simple.
But hey, if you guys ah, you know, I'll put it to you.
As I pulled some information here about the secondary into some of those additional free agency options the Giants might look at, uh, if the Cowboys win the division and get to the playoffs.
Is that enough for you that you want Jason Garrett back as the coach? Are you looking to? It's time for this team to turn over on going a different direction.
When you look at the Dallas Cowboys, Think on that for a minute.
As I as I worked my way through some of these other options we talk about like a Ross Ross ****erel down there in Carolina.
Trae Waynes Anthony Harris at safety for for Harris, Wayne's 28 years old again.
You want to get into Ah, Oakland and worldly we can go ahead and pull up his stat line and see where we stand there and last but not least of what I will also do is we highlighted that love has been reading out pretty well for us.
We talk about Nancy Want Buffet was actually playing, you know? Surprisingly not surprisingly, but playing to a 70.
7 is buffet, and we've highlighted this, too.
Is how much of it is it on buffet? How much is it on these young players around him? Scheme The ultimately I think this is a player that we know has lost a step, and that's just really limited his ability to give.
He'll make every play that he wants to, uh, grilled peppers.
You know, I'm certainly high on him, and I like what you can do for us so far on this season, and he most likely will not be seen again this year. Played out to a 66.5.
I think he's a building block, certainly, but again, regime change it could dictate dictate a lot for us, right? Uh, not gonna highlight McLaurin because he's a He's a player that was brought in following the injury, and then you get to a guy like Tom, Listen, even a guy like Thomas and you know this is a player that I like because he's a great special teams contributor.
He's played to a 62.
9 rating, you know.
So here's a guy that I do still think can at least be a contributor on this roster and then gives you special team tries.
And so now, now we've gone through the gauntlet of the Giants.
Let's move over and take a look at one of the players that we were just highlighting there.
Ah wanted to get our look at.
I got to go out to Oakland here to take a look at whirly and see if he's bringing anything to the table.
Some of these names, you know, jump out of you because of that recognition of them having been around, you know, play a little bit in the league.
So sometimes I'll have it all off the tip of my tongue that this is a good looking player here.
I just want to get inside the numbers because you're not really sure.
But listen, you want to talk about it.
38 solo tackles, one interception 61.
Target's 32 receptions playing on.
Certainly a defense that has shown stretches of improvement hasn't looked strong these last couple of weeks.
But you know, here's a guy at six once you owe five.
Ah, he's going to be coming into an opportunity to get a new car.
You know his first big contract actually could be 2nd 1 I'll take a look back here a CZ.
We highlight Whirly and his 70.
4 pro football focus rating right now, just like the Denard ones were gonna dive inside and great out.
Run versus past.
Obviously, you focus in that past area first, and that's how Denard becomes a little bit misleading, though maybe 28 years old.
You consider the prophet of him transitioning into a little bit of safety or that hybrid rule for you.
As a possibility.
There wasn't world is 25 years old, so again you know he's coming off a year where he's making three million.
So certainly there's gonna be opportunities for him he along with, And maybe he would make more sense than Eli Apple just because it's a it's a new face within this organization and I'm sure plenty of fans would get in on the chatter of saying You don't want to be like Apple back in spite of what he's done. Excited, excited.
But ultimately, you take a look out there in a guy like worldly.
We will go ahead and dive on him a little bit more over the last remaining games this season on.
That's probably four weeks following the following Monday matchups.
So what I'm going to go back through and do is if you've been keeping up with us and some of these players were highly in terms of free agency, I'll go ahead and take a look in on some of their games when they're on.
Ah, certainly in the not overlapping with Giants action.
And then we'll start the highlight.
How they look right.
We can take a look at the game for Oakland and see how he's matching how really matches up against some of the AH elite wide receiver talent around the league situationally.
How does he look? And now that we've noted where he stands right now, from a raiding standpoint, we could go ahead and check back in a few weeks and see if he was trending upward trending down.
But from an age standpoint, from the pro football foot pro football focus training standpoint were really has to be a guy, that the Giants would at least be interested in taking a look at this off season.
Because again, it gives you some amount of stability.
And then also longevity because you don't want to have these guys on, you know, sizable contracts, getting 2 31 32 years old.
As you seem with Jenkins now and again, the problem with Jenkins rooms just you brought in a player at the back end, you know, for the prime of his career, when the team was doing terribly.
So you didn't give yourself a lot of opportunity from that standpoint, Um, not a lot of the guys.
I'm staying in a free safety, obviously.
You know, Ha ha Clinton, Dix.
You want to maybe think about him? He's bounced around now, Ah, couple of times here in the last two seasons now with Green Bay right now in Chicago.
Had been was in Washington at one point.
I think that was last year for him.
We could take a look at it.
Listen still Young, still a talented player has had a bit of a mixed.
I would say mixed results this year a times, but we can take a look there and see how's he's raided out.
And this is someone who may be a pair with the peppers.
Give yourself an opportunity tohave a rotation of players against situational opportunities for the younger guys to come in and make some noise for you.
I got like love.
Now you can say he can.
He can cover in for peppers or playing for ah, for Clinton Dix if you were to come out 79.
5 there on the Pro Football Focus rating and he comes in and 27 28 years old next year.
Ah, that's certainly an option as well.
You talk about improving this team.
If you were, let's say we you want take buffet out of the equation and bring in a guy like Ha ha Clinton Dix.
If the price makes sense, we obviously have the money to spend.
Uh, now, all of a sudden say you say you brought in worldly or apple.
Whatever picked you, take your pick.
Jenkins has moved on from you bring in world your apple.
You also bring in Ha ha Clinton Dix to replace buffet on the back end and pair him Ah, back there and have some athleticism and ranging ability from peppers and himself there in the on the back end of your defense.
You know, I mean, those are improvements.
Those are things that you can do, and I think things you can do not necessarily at maximum contracts for, for these guys.
Ah, **** Clinton, Dix.
Maybe we'll take a little bit more than worthy.
Okay, you know those air options Those are things that you can do and spend money on this free agency when you know you can't fix everything in the draft if you're talking about already penciling in or not See, a lot of people are pending in ah, Young Chase Young being the player for the Giants at that number two selection and see if we can get to number one.
But if you're talking about going with Chase Young, help solidify that front core I've highlighted on other ones about looking at a guy like Weaver out of California and that inside outside, flexible, multi use player there, the linebacking corps.
If you're getting those guys in the draft following some free agent pickups in, say, a worldly in a Clinton Dix now, I think you can kind of look at that at that defense and say, Are we Is it fixed? No.
But now you still have some opportunities here.
You could see how Sam deal goes over the next season.
You can see if Baker, can you turn this, that you can he turn himself around on and then you get the kind of ride out Love looks like he is strong.
Like to see him work into that rotation there with peppers.
So now you're talking about having some weapons that could make some plays for you, and then at least give yourself a knell of ated quality of play that you haven't seen this season out of the out of this group overall.
And then maybe you do move on.
What could be a grand Haley Ballantine? This play has looked bad, but I don't know how quickly the new regime would move on from all or any of these players.
But these are the options.
I think you have to say if the regime is still in place or if you're saying you have a certain core you wanna hold onto.
I think that that combination of draft acquisitions on the defensive front, combined with some free agency plug ins here, could at least take your team and move them from.
You know, someone who is giving up multiple games where you're giving up 14 points, back to back touchdowns for the for the opposing team's and just saying we're keeping you in games back in the game zero In spite of interceptions and turnovers, you're talking about being in a game, going in the fourth quarter, just knowing, okay, we can make an offense work.
We can hold on offense to three points.
This is a team that's giving up 30 points a week, fairly consistently throughout the year, and these are some Some of the options that we can certainly look at and think could help turn the page on this team fairly quickly.
We'll roll through here real quick and then we're gonna get out the door.
I will come back in later and do either.
The I'll come back and do a dive in on the draft.
Obviously, that goes without saying and where I think the Giants can look, and I do tend to think that you're better off maybe looking down into some of the later rounds because of the need.
You have another place to specifically edge rusher and across the offensive line.
I think you have to start to identify 3rd 4th 5th round, guys that you think could be again cause contributors in the system as opposed to looking for, ah, shutdown corner because you're not necessarily going to identify those.
And you don't know how any of these guys play out.
I think in that secondary role, given the way offensive NFL football is in the modern NFL, we take a look at a guy like Kevin Johnson out of ah Buffalo.
And then we also have will touch back in here at a strong safety, and these are all just, you know, players that are going to be available.
Certainly want to look at, actually know what I'll stay away from the strong safety for now.
Let's touch in on.
I mean, listen, you know Kevin Johnson, 28 I'm going to stay away from that one as well.
But you want to talk about a guy like out there.
Let's just let's try this one here, going out to now Pittsburgh and taking a look at a player by the name of Artie Burns.
Obviously, we know that Tomlin, of like Tom, has done a fantastic job.
Still, keeping the team competitive and involved in that division could have asked for anything more out of him.
And now we dive in on a guy like Arnie burned 61.1.
Not gonna cut it right the were talking about You can't just swap out, like, for like or make a marginal improvement.
Some of these other names we're talking about would be significant jumps for this team for the Giants in terms of improving their play.
Artie Burns, just 25 years old.
So has some tread on those tires, certainly heading into that prime of his career.
And then you could get into Baltimore, New Orleans and Dallas got Byron Jones out there in Dallas.
Williams in New Orleans and then Marcus Peter.
So take a quick look at these three and then I think we're gonna jump out of here and come back in with some additional information and content.
I may come back on live you and later tonight, possibly, if not tomorrow morning, and just kind of dive in on on the news about Eli Manning and etcetera him being in this game to start.
But you know, plenty of time ahead here.
It's just a Wednesday.
So a lot of time ahead of us, too.
Take a look at some of these topics as we look towards that Monday.
Well, obviously could get in here over the weekend and then even on Monday morning, Monday afternoon on Dive into more specifics about games this season.
But let's go back out there to Oakland real quick.
Obviously, we know we're talking about a player as you move down these free agent classes, even just the money alone to be indicators about where these guys were coming in.
And now you start to think about where they could be moving forward.
So please pick up on that there.
That was Ah, New Orleans, Oakland.
Not seen another young name there.
You switch over here to Baltimore.
Real quick. I apologize.
Go out here to Baltimore real quick.
Take a look at this one and then, Ah, the go over to New Orleans real quick and get out the door here.
And then, like I said, we'll come back in, do a little more deep diving.
And then, as we've been highlighting, once we get to the end of the season basically what I wanna have laid out for us here, and then we'll move through the offseason.
Breaking this stuff down is having those conversations about.
Here's where the free agency's a lot.
Here, they're free agents.
Here is where the money starts the line about expectations of what it would cost to get a guy like that in the door.
Where do you want, you know? What does that mean? Then what are you going to do next? Ah, so the big name here, Marcus Peters.
Certainly playing out to an 82.
3 pro football focus rating at 27 years old.
You know, you're right on the edge.
There, off this.
This, like the generous Jenkins.
Think you bring in a guy.
So, unfortunately, render originally drafted there about Kansas City Chiefs back in 2015.
You bring in the guy who, ultimately with five picks on the year, by the way, Uh, you like him? But a 27? How many years away are you? So that time 29 Next year's give you 28? So I'm talking about first year 29 now, second year of the 30 already compete, and he's 30 years old.
Does he still have it? You start to slip a little bit, have the other guys develop behind them, you know? So you do get right on the edge there.
Now it's a marked improvement.
But even if you were, I don't necessarily see him getting to free agency.
By the way, I think we got there in Baltimore.
But if you were to be able to bring a guy like that in the door, you're also talking about opening up the wallet forum.
From that standpoint as well, we go out now quickly Thio New Orleans to take a look at one of the options there, another 27 year old player and playing, of course, contributing there along with the ah apple.
Excuse me, as we had mentioned, but just playing to a 51.
Williams Not gonna be on my radar so we can go ahead and shut the door on on that option as well.
You slide down this list and this is where you're gonna get these are back and guys, guys that may or may be playing or certainly older.
I'm not saying it's Hana options there.
We'll get out the door on one last one.
Might as well touching on ah, fellow division rival.
And that's going to be the Dallas Cowboys.
Let's get a rating here on ah, Byron Jones real quick and just see if he's been doing any damage over there.
Dallas before we get out the door here and we can always see is you know does ah, do you have anything for us? Are 23 you know, is this the guy you want to see back on? Your team is a guy that you could care less for that Because if you tell me you don't want him that I know that I certainly don't want to sign him.
Uh, let's take a look here.
That's how he's right now.
No interceptions on the year.
43 targets, 24 receptions allowed.
Eyes giving you four assists here.
No forced fumbles, no stops, no sacks, no interceptions.
So, um, listen, I can highlight him is certainly being a possibility.
And again because this is a guy that you maybe take a look at and think, Ah, not gonna cost you nearly as much as some of these other names might run you, and then you can still haven't come in.
He will still be an improvement.
Thinking about we talked about Jenkins being rid of 64.
Okay, You want a You know, middle.
You want middle of the round in terms of what it's gonna cost you to bring him back in.
You want? Maybe you get to pay him something in that 8 to 12 million, 8 to 12 something that range, which still could be a lot of money, certainly, but to bring him in to be a marked improvement from Jenkins, and he will be now your quote unquote number one is You see what deal and ah and Baker can be for you and the upcoming season.
Certainly, that could be an option for you as well.
Um, but that being said, that's probably that'll be my short list right now.
You lie apple worldly.
Now Peters isn't a guy.
I think that I'm gonna go ahead and tag.
That is being a long shot of this list.
I think a solid target would be worldly at 25 rates out pretty strong.
Think you like to think that you could take that next step for you and then continue to build on that over the course of what is now entering his prime? 26 27 28 29.
Now you're getting into that nice long stretch.
And then we talked about two years down the road.
Maybe when the Giants are really ready to be competitive.
He's still just 27 28 rate there in his prime in this contract and able to maybe give you that two year run and then be that veteran presence as you move through the back end of his of his contract and then, certainly, from a cornerback perspective, potentially the back end of his strongest portions career.
And then we also highlighted ha ha Clinton Dix.
I think you know, from the back end of this team you want, you want to swap him out.
It was take how buffet and Swap Index that makes a time a sense for me on that would certainly be a target that I'd like them to take a look at.
We highlighted some of the better players on the team.
Oh, and we also highlighted Denard, by the way, just just to recap and realized that his wrong coverage is fantastic.
Coverage is abysmal, and that's how he comes out with 75 profootballfocus ready.
So we'll dive in on the guys that we listed out here and try to get those running past numbers.
We're right on the edge in terms of one giant podcast announce across these platforms of making some investments in and around some additional staff sources that costs a little bit of money to get in on.
But if it's worth the investment deal to bring higher quality information and certainly more in depth ****ysis about free agents and prospects coming out of college, we're going to do that.
So we're looking into that there, but I can probably track down a lot of this information.
Next time I come on, we'll start.
You will go back into these guys here, highlight that balance between running past defense, and then we'll take a look at that draft.
And where do we think the Giants can get some targets going for them? Highlighting that love in a short sample sizes look pretty good for us.
Um, and we know that certainly Peppers won't be with us for them into the season, Most likely.
And then Thomas, a veteran guy, would like him on special teams and know that he could give you something.
And we all we obviously know.
The baker has been struggling out there.
We know the battle time has really been struggling there.
So these are a lot of these moving pieces we may see come the off season.
That being said with one giant podcast, I have been at a marmot, always reminding you social media At one giant podcast, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter head over the iTunes download rate Reviewing.
Subscribe to the podcast we started.

So probably at some point later today so be ready for you for Thursday, all the way through Friday, and then we'll still be coming with our typical Friday afternoon one.
We may even hold that out there until Saturday, given that the Giants won't be playing until Monday evening.
So we're trying to start to do some of this, though some bigger picture stuff, a new episode that you're here.
We do talk bigger, picture.
We touch on the Packers game briefly and then really talk about the regime, the play calling and some of these individuals that we want to look into, and then some specific issues that we've seen from a defensive and offensive perspective.
