What's up, y'all? It's going over.
But what's going on, guys? That's your boy, Ray.
Wow, come to my little show here on D P.
And I hope that you're all doing fine on this beautiful Tuesday.
What? It's snowing again here in Toronto today.
I want to do something a little bit different today.
I wanna I want to do something that I don't know I've never done before.
And that's take a look at some old tape between the Patriots and the cheese is.
Actually, When I thought about this today, it was something that I wished I would have done a couple of seasons ago.
I would have done if you know when the season started.
But having his own at one of the cool things is I could go back and I can watch games all the way back to 2015.
I wouldn't want to do today. They want to go.
I'm gonna look at and watch a condensed version of the 2018 a F C championship game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, and I want to kind of look at what the Patriots did well in that game.
against the Chiefs.
What they didn't do well with the Chiefs did well against the Patriots, and I get there's different personality.
It's some guys were there.
Some guys aren't.
But we could get a good idea of how these two teams match up because the key guys are still there.
Brady in the homes Tyree kill Stefan Gilmore, Sammy Watkins.
All the big boys were there 20 years in just a couple of minutes here, I'm gonna start playing it on the zone out.
What kind of give you a condense play by plays? We go on what kind of pause it as we see things and sort of break it apart.
The condensed version of the game is 43 minutes, so I'll be with you for the next 43 minutes and all, and ah yeah, let's get it started.
So the chief's deferred the kick, and they kicked off to the Patriots and went all the way back.
Now Brandon Boldin's returning kicks in.
This, you know, in that game was Cordell Patterson, and he did return.
The ball brought the ball up to about the 20 yard line, but the Patriot would start with the ball to 20 first play of the game.
Brady's behind center handed the ball to Sony.
Michele Michele ran it right up the gut and ran it for 11 yards.
That's a hell of a way to start a run game, and it's something I want to see.
The Patriots continue second play of the game.
Brady hands off again to Michelle, and he picks up about a yard.
And on second and nine, Brady will throw the ball and he'll find Gronkowski across the middle of the field.
Now that's a staple play for the Patriots.
When Gronk was on the team of Gronk coming across and Brady hitting him up, the middle Patriots are going to run it again, and he gets no game.
I haven't seen a Patriot who's been able to replicate that this year, and that's one of the biggest problem with the Patriots offense.
On second and 10 he throws the ball to guess who Gronk.
So Brady threw the ball two times and the first drive off the hop in his 1st 2 passes without Gronk, both for completions.
Then he hands the ball that James White on third and four, and I like using James White when people, everybody in the world thinks he's gonna go out and catch a pass.
And then he runs and I picked up the first down.
I know they do that a few times this game.
Next, play hands with Sony, Michelle on first and Tandy picks up about five yards.
Then we get this set or four yards.
Get the 2nd 6 Now.
One thing I'm noticing on these past plays on these run plays.
Very involved in the blocking.
We haven't got that even with the landing.
So the Patriots are gonna have to watch out on third and one hands the ball off the James Whitey picks up the first down.
I really liked him having him run the ball.
They hand the ball off the Rex Burkhead.
He bounces around, picks up a couple of yards.
I like other using the run game.
They used all three running backs during this drive.
That's what I want to see them do more often to get the run game going.
Fix of pass off Mrs A dumb past James White on 2nd 7 So what they're doing in the run game I really like.
Obviously, we haven't been able to use Rob Gronkowski and 2nd 7 Middle the field.
Unfortunately, I don't think the chief's they're going to give him that soft zone and they're probably gonna double cover.
Adelman hands the ball off to Michelle again.
Michelle comes around the corner, picks up the first down.
So they're now on the six yard line of Kansas City, and the damage has been done by Rob Gronkowski, Adelman and the running backs handoff to Michelle to the outside.
He's gonna go down aboutthe one yard line, and I believe the Patriots score in this next play.
Handoff to Michelle up the middle.
Yes, now here's two things were missing when they show this replace.
Rob Gronkowski and James Devlin both had huge blocks to open up that hole for Michelle.
My question is, is, who's going to do that for the Patriots? Look Gronk and Devlin, both through big blocks and just open a massive hole. First.
Sony Michelle Mala Cause has been doing well with his blocking, but I think that I think that I landed.
Robertson is aggressiveness could do that a fullback.
But I think McKeel Harry can step into some of those blocks that Rob Gronkowski we're putting out.
So the Patriots kick off the ball.
Kostovski hit the extra point. Man.
Do I miss him now? Defensively, let's see how they lock up against my home's here.
They run the ball out of the shotgun.
They pick up about No.
65 yards and that brings up second in five.
They try to run the ball again.
The Patriots defense Landon Roberts all over him for a three yard loss, something that's becoming very, really a lot of this offensive line is similar to what they've had in the past.
They put pressure on the homes, he throws a way incomplete, and it looked like it drew a holding call.
I don't know why that upsets me now.
This game is like almost a whole year old, but defensively I'm seeing the Patriots doing a lot of the same things that they've been doing all season.
Pressure on the homes again.
He's gonna launch a downfield.
You basically threw it away.
Sammy Watkins was completely buried by stuff on Gilmore.
Jackson covered Travis Kelsey, and I like that J. C.
Jackson on Travis Kelsey.
That's a good match of those are two big strong guys.
You don't have to put a safety on him all the time on third and 10.
Kyle Van Noy in the backfield.
That's like a 10 yard sack.
So, obviously, this is the A F C championship game I'm doing right now, and it just more of a scouting game of what they did right during this game and what they did.
I will watch probably Week five tomorrow.
But this game represented Maur, especially the first half of this Patriots team this year of a real run team and defense, or what I hope they could be.
Brady throws it on first and 10.
Mrs Julian Edelman.
I've noticed now.
Every time they tried to go outside, he tried to go to Birkhead outside and element outside once, and it didn't work.
Screen past the Birkhead.
The bird has a guy who can be mad at the line of scrimmage on those on those on those running back throws and still pick up six yards like you did.
Then he hands the ball off the Jato.
I love how they're rotating the running backs in here.
I want to see them continue that now.
They got Rex Burkhead in with a fullback.
Birkhead up the gut.
He gets nailed right above the one yard line.
But we've seen this play go.
Birkhead White Birkhead.
Now he's going empty. Backfield.
Now it's Ah, it's the Paterson on that sort of shovel pass out front, we haven't seen the Patriots sort of neutralized that that, you know, Shovel pass.
I think Mohammed's news a guy that could take it.
Adam is definitely a guy that could take that.
Then they hand the ball off to Sony.
He runs it up the middle, picks up about five yards.
I love this rotation.
Sony Michelle's him for a couple plays, follows James Devlin.
He picks up another three yards or so, brings up 1/3 and short for third and two for the Patriots are in chief's territory again.
Brady gets it to addle men on the outside for the first down.
I mean, this is everything they could do this year with this game without Rob Gronkowski without any of them, Then he has Sony. Michelle.
On this drive, we've seen all three running backs.
We've seen them all rotating in.
I really like that.
Brady, behind center hands the ball after Michelle.
He pounds it and gets stopped right at the line of scrimmage, is still on the one yard line and then he hands it off.
And then that's when Brady throws the interception.
You know, I wish they would have ran the ball there.
I still think about that play and which they would have just ran it for another time.
But what I'm seeing here is we're seeing the Patriots offense using all three running backs and it being very effective.
They put a ton of pressure and chase Patrik Mahomes has to throw the ball away.
The amount of pressure that they got on the homes in the first half was really key to shutting him out.
That first high tower there.
See, Hightower didn't go and try to get the This is why Hightower is such a smart player.
I'm the pauses here for a second, so my home drops back to throw the ball high towers in autumn.
Hightower realizes Mahomes got away.
If Hightower gives chase more homes could get away from the tackle, take a step up and actually make a pass.
So we talk about all that freaky stuff.
Mahomes dies, the side arms and the left hand's in the no looks.
Hightower's is fine, stops two yards short and just puts his hands in the air.
Kind of jumps around a couple of times, dares my homes to throw the ball over him.
Mahomes tries and it goes absolutely nowhere.
And I think that's how they have to approach my homes because he can make those throws that are a little freaky.
You need to know how to disrupt them.
What the Patriots do here on third and one, hand off by the chief.
Stay in to get stuffed short of the line.
I mean, that's just and again, this is a better defense that we have this year than now.
But there's Danny Shelton in on the play, and the Chiefs were punting for the second time, and we all know what Patrick Mahomes did in the second half of the game.
But I'm really interested on what they do here and now they're showing Edelman returning the punt.
Obviously, Adam is not returning punts for the Patriots anymore.
Sony Michelle was back in the game on first and 10 picks up a couple of yards.
I'm gonna be interested this time around.
How they rotate in the next play.
Should have been picked off you.
Miss Grant was a bad throw by Brady.
Brings up third and seven and now James White is in So three straight plays.
Three different running backs.
Brady makes a toss.
James White, with a beautiful catch, picks up the first down, and I want to see the Patriots continue to do this.
I want to see them do.
They haven't done this a lot this year.
Now he brings them Birkhead out wide.
So they've had they've changed the running back four times.
There's a pastor Gronk, anything Gronk does that I don't think any other running back or any other player can do.
I kind of kind of ignore right now.
And now he has Sony Michelle on second and wonder running.
He picks up the first down.
Now James White is back on the field.
I love this and now he throws the ball.
The James why James White drops it, but we've seen it rotates six times now.
Second and Tandy's got Sony.
Michelle back hands the ball off to Michele.
Michele runs it up the middle and they pick up about seven yards.
And now Sonny Michelle staying on with the full back.
He's gonna run it again.
He's going to get dropped short on third and one.
The Patriots will have to point now.
They got stalled here around the you know, 40 yard line of Kansas City, but I really liked how they were.
I really liked how they were rotating the running backs in on that play, and I think they can use that same strategy going into Kansas City.
It will be interesting tomorrow when I watched the Week five highlights because I want to see what strategy they use, because I remember that game being a bit of a shootout, and then Kansas City's trying to run the ball.
Can't really, you know, they pick up five guards on there again.
This Patriots run defense looked well improved on Houston little shovel pass.
That Kelsey goes nowhere, and it was one of those fancy things, Kyle.
They annoy all over.
It brings up third and two again.
And look, I know that Patrick Mahomes went nuts and then they called and gets on me somehow gets the pass away.
The problem is, is he had a ton of time and walk ins was able to get away from Gilmore, had about six seconds on the ball there.
Now Holmes is throwing on first and tan.
He's going deep, deep downfield, and this is the on Lee play of the game, where they got beat deep by Tyree Kill.
He's dancing and having fun, but besides that, they were all over him.
And this is it. This is now.
He misses Wilkins on the past.
This is probably my favorite defensive play of the game, though, so it's second in 10 year for Kansas City.
They run the ball.
They go nowhere.
Now Kansas City's in field goal range.
We know the end result of this game.
If this play doesn't happen and it is its trade flowers, who gets back on him and they sack him all the way back to the 35 toe the 35 yard line and for almost a 40 enforce a punt.
If that doesn't happen, the game doesn't even go to overtime.
And this Patriots defense is good enough to continue on with that type of play.
Everything I'm watching out of the Patriots so far, offensively and defensively they have taken.
Just repeat against the Chiefs.
Hands the ball off to Michelle again.
Michelle I'm 2nd 8 Banks of forward for nine yards picked up the first down James White's back down on its own again.
Sony's now ran three straight Place is the first time I've seen Sony Michelle on the field for three plays in a row because they've just been consistently.
Now James White is back on the field, and now he's gonna run it straight up the gut and he's gonna pick up a few yards.
I love this rotation of the running backs.
Brady's hardly throwing the ball at all, and he's going to Adelman and drunk.
So what the Patriots got to do first Sunday's just figure out and James White and again because they James whites out there.
They don't know whether it's gonna be a pass or a run because they've consistently used it, not James White's back out again.
They throw to him again.
On first and 10 he runs it all the way up to field for a vote.
Wow, He just ran over 35 yards.
I forgot a while.
That run was that's coming up first in town with 41 seconds left.
James White back on the field.
He's gonna run it with 41 seconds to the outside.
He's gonna run it down to the 20 eight of Kansas City of brings up 2nd 1 Brady's in the shotgun.
Brady going deep down the field.
Lo behold in the basket.
Touchdown to Philip.
Speed that I believe he can use.
So now we know that the second half went wonky.
We we know that we know that Kansas City went crazy in the second half and all the points went up, but everything I just talked about and I'll deposit here in a minute and we'll have a little bit of a discussion about it.
But everything, I kind of just, you know, half asked.
Call in this condensed version of the game is it was absolutely perfect.
Rotating the you know, they rotated the running backs.
Burke had White and Michelle We're almost out there for equal time.
All three of them ran the ball.
Birkhead and Michelle both evolved in the passing game.
The defense pressure on the homes, the beautiful play by high tower to not sack him but drop back two yards, realizing if he went for the sack and missed.
Um, and then the homes fumbles the ball here at the end of the game but recovers it.
And I think they're taking me after this there they just let the time run.
So that's the end of the second half.
And we know that things went crazy in the, uh in the second in the in the second half of the end of the first Apple, let's talk about what we've seen.
First of all, let me welcome Joe and Stew and Bobby.
What's happening? Thank you for coming in.
Thank you to actually use in here right now.
Who's a Vikings fan? I don't know how she ended up in our stream, but welcome Ashley.
So for those of you who are just kind of drop in, andr came in in between.
What I'm doing is I'm re watching a condensed version of the A F C championship game, so it's basically every play with nothing, none of the in between stuff.
And I just want to kind of see what the Patriots did against the Chiefs and kind of scouting and seeing what they can carry over the last game.
And what I saw in that first half is rotating the running backs through the rotation they evenly used.
Rexburg had Sony, Michelle and James White.
Three guys that are still on that team used them consistently, rotating them through.
Use James White in the run game in the past game.
Sony Michelle in the run game.
But they would pass when he was out there.
Use Rex Burkhead in both really disrupted the Kansas City defense.
What we need to figure out is who can be the Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots in the past game? Because the 1st 2 passes of the game went to Gronkowski and there was that very staple middle of the field to Gronk kind of play, of course, went the Edelmann.
I think so New could step in and be that kind of role player to take that ball in the middle.
They talked about it in the last game just knew was brought onto this team because the Patriots want to stick with going in the middle.
The defense was just pressuring, pressuring, pressuring Patrick Mahomes.
And now we're starting the third quarter.
And as we know, this game goes a lot crazier.
Let's put it this way.
In the condensed version in the 43 minute, 27 2nd game, that's how much play time.
There was only 14 minutes of playtime in the first half.
The rest of it all comes in the second half and overtime.
Let's look at the game.
The Patriots kick off the ball, forced him to return, and they go down about the 27 yard line.
This we first and 10 Mahomes starts in the shotgun.
Patriots are rushing four little dumb past with running back, which picks up about a good five yards.
Kyle Van Noy, You takes him out, brings up second and five for Kansas City, hands the ball off to the running back and trey flowers who weaken.
Just say that would have been Adam Butler takes him down this year and then on third in two.
Mahomes does drop back to pass.
Offensive line holds up is the Patriots and four.
And when he has all the time in the world, the past, he will and Sammy Watkins gets past the farm, Gilmore and the other all the way down in the Patriot zone.
I think what's important on that play is the longer you give my home's time to throw the speed of walk ins and then Travis Kelsey gets a touchdown on top of Patrick, are on top of Jaycee Jackson.
But the longer you give Patrick more homes to throw the ball, his receivers walking's Tyree killed there too fast.
Even for Gilmore.
If you can let him hold the ball for and that look like at least 56 seconds held the ball, they're eventually going to get separation.
I understand the Patriot receivers don't, but they can sew.
Brady comes back on the field.
Now it's 14 to 7.
Brady's throwing the ball, the bearcat on the outside. It's funny.
Everything to the sideline is usually to Burke at her Adelman, and I wasn't comfortable with any of it as it went, he looks so much more contra.
There's another one toe Adelman on the outside.
I think Edelmann don't forward for the first They did in its 3rd 1 Hands the ball off the Burke had Birkhead dives.
Gets the first down, and I like seeing Burke had run the ball there.
Now Sony Michelle is back in the game.
The handoff went for Gronk up the middle.
I saw Joe's comment right before I switched over.
That Ryan is Oh, could be the guy.
Maybe take over a bit of that.
And now is Michelle's pounding the ball again.
I like the rotation he picks up on.
That brings up third down.
I like them calling a run.
Play on second down brings up third and six.
Ball gets deflected, She's fans are fired up, and I just knowing the result of the game makes me so happy to watch.
How happy the Chiefs fans are right now and Ryan Allen actually is that it had a couple of pretty good punch today.
Now I'm watching Tyree kill punt the ball, he will run backwards and the Patriots make him pay for that, and the Patriot special teams can make him play pay on Sunday.
So everything that I've seen today is Don't give him a Holmes.
Time to throw the ball, Get to him. Get in.
This offensive line has not been great.
They've been better, but not great.
Get pressure on him.
Don't give them time to throw cause he's throwing all these outlet passes.
I'm watching their and outlet pass now.
He's deep and he gets hardly anything out of it.
Don't get fooled by the play action or by the draws.
That's the only way.
I think that can't that Kansas City could really hurt them in the running game is the drop place.
The draw plays could be really, really scary on that sense.
First and 15 here on the 11 for Kansas City Homes to throw does a side arm past dropped Bye, Kelsey.
But Jacey Jackson all over him, and I like this match up with Kelsey and J. C. Jackson.
I didn't even remember that happening, but I like that matchup.
They sacked Mahomes again on second and 15.
That was Lawrence guy and John Simon.
Two guys were still on this team brings up 13 a team for Kansas City homes back deep down the field broken up by Jason McCord, who will hopefully be back the next of the game on Sunday.
And that forces, um, the Chiefs to kick from their own end zone.
So watching this game so far, basically, the only time that Patrick Moore Holmes has really hurt the Patriots is when he's, you know, been able to hold the ball.
So if the pages can keep putting constant pressure on him, he shouldn't be able to get the ball deep down the field because that's how he's killing them.
And Chris Hogan makes a catch, like very easily be Jacoby Meyers.
Or, you know, to kill Harry Sony.
Michelle back on the field on the run, he runs it for about a yard.
I forgot how good this game was.
Both teams were actually playing really well here.
Brady's throwing on second and dumps it off to James White.
I love the way they used James White a lot.
The way they're using their running backs.
I don't understand how you can call it.
They call the pass interference on a throw to the running back, like in the back field.
I don't know how that's a pass interference.
But yeah, I'm gonna actually look at the Tennessee game, Joe.
So it's more women watch Game five against the Patriots.
And then on Thursday, I'm gonna condense the Titans game, which I think is the best indication of what we can see.
Because it was a loss and it was a tight game, though.
It was a tight game, and I want to see them.
And I think that this game is gonna be very tight on Sunday, and I want to see how Patty my homes and all of them kind of respond to things.
So the pages were up 17 to 7 now with 3 59 left the third quarter.
And again Mahomes is getting away.
But when he's under pressure getting away, he can't make the place and look.
And now he could be you with your feet and he lowers his shoulder and the landed Roberts lowers his shoulder back, and they need to do that.
They need to deter him from running the ball, and, if he is, get him to slide.
So quarterback sneak brings up first and 10 Mahomes, back to throw, has all the time in the world loan behold finds is running back.
He'll pick up about five yards.
I'd be rushing four or five every single time.
I wouldn't be going zero blitz, but I'd be rushing and just getting a CZ much pressure as possible because what I'm seeing here their offensive line.
Okay, now, this was a disgusting play.
Adrian Claiborne came in on Ah, on a on a zero blitz was on my homes and, like a second and 1/2 and he sighed, shotted it to his receiver.
Like sometimes Patrick Mahomes is just going to do things that you can't stop, you know? I mean, it's he's going to do things that you can't stop.
And I think if you're the Patriots, you have to accept that.
You know that you need to accept that, Patrick.
I mean, that was a disgusting throw, just a side arm and and I mean, an Adrian Clayborn was in on him in a second.
So if you could just accept that that's gonna happen.
You try to stop everything else now clear.
Kansas City's gotten deep into the Patriots territory.
Three seconds left in the third.
I tossed to the back of the end zone overthrow that's gonna bring us to the fourth quarter moment's gonna throw on second and 10.
He's gonna go in the end zone.
He's looking for Kelsey J.
Now they throw a flag here for pass interference and he was a little early.
He was a little early, but I'm Jaycee Jackson.
I'm giving that same coverage.
I like this matchup.
I hope they stay with it Now.
Here's a matchup I don't like High Tower on the running back.
It just turned into a touchdown.
I don't like Van Noy and Hightower covering a running back on the past.
I'd much rather Jamie Collins into that position.
Obviously, Jamie Collins wasn't on the team last year, so there was really no option.
But a high tower just got completely beat by the running back there, my boy. Hi.
You could do better than that.
So that made the game 17 14.
So the Patriots had the lead with 14 51 in the fourth, and this is the quarter that everything just went stupid.
Points wise and ah, Kansas City was forcing New England to return the ball and You know, Cordell Patterson was one of the best return mint in the league, and they were forcing them to return it.
I wonder if they go that route with Brandon Bolden.
And now Rex Burkhead is out there. They do play action.
Brady finds Settlement up the middle and look now play action is killing Kansas City because they establish the run so early and were so effective at it.
And then they go right back to the run with Sony Michelle on the next play, and he goes nowhere.
But at this point, it doesn't matter.
And now he's got, Ah, Sony Michelle again and Michelle runs it deep, and he looked like he crossed the first line marker there. And they did. Markham.
It's first and 10 Patriots on the boat, the 45 of Kansas City.
Michelle stays on the field for the run again, establishing the run, and then you can try to nail him on play action.
Now Rex broke out on the field.
He's going out for a pass pass over to James Devlin.
Devlin makes to catch.
I don't expect the land and Roberts to make that kind of catch, so that's one of those plays that were great, but I got a white and that's only Michelle is back on the field, pounding the ball.
Brings it up to the 30 yard line on first and 10 makes its second and seven.
Now James White is on the field, tossed to James White.
Comes up the middle, is gonna bring up third and 3 34 and they handed off to James White again.
And James White is drop short like inches from the first down mark.
And I think this is when they go for it with Rex Burkhead.
If I'm not mistaken and I hated the call of going with it, it is Rex Burkhead on the field.
Birkhead tries to dive and he gets stuffed, and that was a big fourth down stuff.
And again as much as that sack to Patrick Mahomes in the first quarter.
You know, it was one of the biggest difference makers of this game going over time in Kansas City, not winning it.
That stuff there.
The Patriots gave up three points, couldn't get it.
I hated the play call, though.
I was not happy with Jamie with, um Josh McDaniels.
Michelle, You've got James White.
I don't like Rexburg.
Get rid of that ball.
Mahomed is throwing a deep.
He's got 1/3 and a couldn't get anywhere.
Pressure on again and again.
He gets the ball away.
As soon as you put pressure, he's just getting the ball away.
They completely took away Tyree kill with double coverage.
I love that they need to stick with that on Sunday.
This is the play when Edelman touches it but doesn't touch it.
Became the city thought they scored a touchdown here.
Jim Nance is excited.
I saw the replay a 1,000,000 times.
Edelmann didn't touch the ball.
I don't know why I'm I know what the call is.
I don't know why I'm so intense to hear what it is.
So what would have been a touchdown wasn't.
And then I think Brady throws an interception like the next play or something.
So Ball doesn't lie right.
They keep showing the replay over and over again.
He didn't touch it.
Let's move on with their lives.
This isn't about suspense anymore.
This is about how the Patriots convene eat.
Andy Reid has the most disgusted look on his face, and it just absolutely hilarious.
So then they hand the ball of Sony Michelle.
He picks up about two yards on the run again.
I like how they keep going to the run, and I think this is the Brady Interception.
They got Michelle back on the field, play action, and really they had it. It would have been a first down.
It bounced right out of the Ottomans hands.
The throw was fined by Brady was a little high, but it bounces out of elements hands and goes for an interception.
Yeah, yeah, Adelman just drops it and it turns into an interception, and an adamant actually gets clocked after the play, right in the head.
No penalty on the play.
So that brings up first and 10 for cane.
So again, you know Adelman, every once in a while has ALS kind of drops that can turn bad.
And I think that was his third tip fall of the year that turned into an interception.
Gronk hat to that turned into an interception.
A lot of challenge plays.
They gave Watkins a catch and then I think, balletic challenged it.
I don't think we need hope now.
So the Patriots had a 17 to 14 lead with 7 25 left in the game, which is crazy when I started thinking about what the final scores were.
So my home is now on second and 10 has forever in a day to throw the ball, gets it to his running back, and it's a touchdown in Kansas City takes their first lead of the game, coming deep in the fourth quarter.
So this Patriots defense on this team that was not is not as good as this year's defense held on.
For a long time.
I just live Tyree killed, dancing and grinding up on his place, knowing the end result of this game when I'm trying to make, even though I know I'm just making assessment, watching how gleeful and happy the Chiefs fans are, I don't know it.
Just give me satisfaction knowing and so okay, so that she's taking 20 to 17 lead will make a 21 with the extra point.
Of course, it's good.
And now Brady and the Patriots get the ball back 7 45 left in the fourth no return on the kickoff.
Let's see what Josh McDaniels laid up.
So Brady got it, too, while they had a double running back in the back.
But Cordell Patterson was actually one of them, along with Sony Michelle, which obviously, we won't see a play like that.
Now James White is on the field.
Brady to throw Brady up the middle, incomplete Edelman screaming for a pass. Interference.
Should have been a pass interference, like 100%.
Well, you know, it's funny.
This was the roughing the past of the call, and I didn't realize it.
But the raft roughing the passer call that the Chiefs fans wine about the all the time like, Well, you touched Tom Brady and you get a roughing the passer call.
And that was, you know, changed the game.
That was the third down.
And it was It was second, but and, um, but Julian Edelman should have been. Should have got a call.
That was how he should've got called for a least a holding call.
Our pass interference So it all kind of balanced itself out.
I need to be reminded of that next time I have a chief fan bringing up the roughing the passer.
Then the Patriots run the ball with James White.
Well, that was Sony. Michelle.
Sorry, now James Whites on the field.
They go to Gronk on.
His arm was being held as they were dry.
He was dragging a guy.
It should have been a pass interference.
No call third and eight now for the Patriots and a big catch by Chris Hogan for a first down.
Again, I think that you could really move Jacoby Meyers into that Chris Hogan roll.
That was definitely a catch.
It was definitely a catch.
It's being challenged.
That's the third challenge of the half.
Just watching Andy Reid get mad after he loses the challenge is hilarious.
And now Rex Burkhead on the field for a run.
He runs it for 15 yards for a first down 5 58 left in the fourth.
Patriots bleeding the clock.
It's 2117 for Kansas City gets the ball.
He steps forward for a first down again.
We need one of our tight ends, possibly like Amatl.
It costs to get this.
Then he hands the ball to Birkhead.
So we've had a steady diet of Sony, Michelle and James White.
And now we got Rex Burkhead for 12 left in the fourth.
Brady steps back into the shotgun throat. A Bearcat.
Birkhead reaches florid, depending where they spot the ball.
To me, it looks like they're going to spot it.
Third and one hands the ball off the Birkhead.
He's gonna get dropped short on another stupid dive play.
The same is the fourth down.
Not gonna bring up fourth and inches, and the Patriots go for it again.
This time, they hand the ball off to Sony, Michelle and Sony.
Michelle runs it in for a touchdown.
That's the guy who should have ran the ball.
The last time was 1/4 down.
I hope they learned their lesson there.
Rex Burkhead, though, even when he he does is he dives like almost this flat dive in the air.
And that's what got caught on fourth down.
And that's how he got stopped in that last third down play.
I haven't seen him do it this year, and I don't remember him doing it a lot, and I hope he stops.
Stephen Gostkowski, by the way, is perfect on field goals and extra points in this game, the pages of a three point lead with 3 32 left in the fourth and while good return down to just past the 30.
So with 3 25 left, Patrick Mahomes steps back.
Gets all the time in the world, still misses his throw.
It was intended for us.
Somebody was Jaycee.
Jax was like coverage, but it's no longer Kelsey.
Now Kelsey takes the throne, and Gilmore was on calc incomplete flag on the play, and J.
Jackson got nailed on a hold, which brought up a first down for Kansas City and then an incomplete on first and 10.
Now second in 10 3 or seven.
Laugh. Mahomes has the ball.
They put the pressure on him.
He overthrows tow walk ins and then the flag comes out.
Now this was a pass interference on J.
Jackson, which is a phantom pass interference.
Vanoy got hit on a roughing the passer, and J.
Jackson got hit on a pass interference, and I mean, it was not a pass interference, so now it's first and 10 Because of the officials, Mahomes goes deep down the field and that should have been picked off by by Jonathan Jones, and he dropped a pick in the end zone.
And the very next play goes toe walk ins, which brings it down to the one yard line.
That was the pick play that was the famous pick play that should have been offensive pass interference.
So you had a dropped interception.
First, you had a bogus pass interference.
Call Jesse Jackson.
You had a dropped interception by Jonathan Jones, which turns out to bite you in the ass on the touchdown.
Then they have a missed offensive pass interference on Kansas City and with 203 left in the game, Kansas City takes a four point lead, and I think the defense got a little shafted on that on the penalty and on the missed penalty.
But Jonathan Jones, you make that interception.
I'm watching it now, watching this in retrospect thinking, Oh my God, you make that interception.
That game's over.
Kansas City was down to two time out.
You can run out the clock at first in town, Brady has nobody to throw to finds Adelman up the middle of the field in triple coverage.
Brady was, You know what? And this is it.
And if somebody can get open and you know what toe that one went to Chris Hogan again? I think that could be the Jacoby Meyers role First, intent again.
The Patriots are moving quick.
They're going No huddle.
He misses Philip, Door said.
Should have been a pass interference.
No call second and 10 for the Patriots here, and it's just study throws now, and you have to.
In the two minute drill, Brady is looking like a champ here, like Brady has looked good, but he hasn't looked this crisp.
He is looking crisp.
Now they're showing the Chris Hogan one.
That kind of looks like it wasn't a catch.
It looks like you touched the ball and they call it incomplete.
Hey, so it's third and 10 now.
Brady ball tipped by Gronk interception and the D Ford offside penalty.
And I can't I just want to hear it.
I don't want to see the team's fans.
Andy Reid's face is just beautiful.
Remember you got mad at the referee because they didn't tell him.
Then, on third and five, Gronk's makes a catch and brings it all the way down.
42 seconds left.
Hands the ball off the Bearcat.
Birkhead comes to the outside and he runs.
He doesn't do a stupid tie.
Finds the hole goes behind.
James Devlin runs in for the touchdown.
Two different running backs ran it in for a touchdown.
I like the rotation.
I think that a Landon Roberts could very easily do a G.
Excuse me what James Devlin did on that play.
And then we see just how good Patrick Mahomes is, because with 39 he gets the ball back.
They force a return.
I don't know where the return gets, so it's a good return.
He gets to the 31.
Patrick Mahomes gets the ball his own 31 yard line with 32 seconds left.
I mean, it's pretty stupid that this game went over time they get but again, all the time.
They can't get him down, and it goes to the running back in.
Lo behold, Kyle Vanoy right and a big throwing catch.
And again, Mahomes has all the time in the world is all the time in the world to throw the ball.
You can't give him that time in Jaycee Jackson got burnt on that play so you can see what this kid can.
D'oh! You can see what the kid can do.
They go for the field goals 11 seconds.
And then, of course, we go to overtime.
We all know what happens.
Right and eight seconds a pooch.
It gets picked up by James Dabbling, who takes a me brave will come out and take a knee and we'll go to overtime.
Hey, I don't know if you guys know this.
Matthew Slater wins the coin toss, So let's talk about that second half before we get in overtime, because I'm gonna get too excited watching this, and I don't think we really need toe.
I don't think we really need to.
I don't think we really need to to even really watch the overtime because we kind of got a really good idea and feeling of what the Patriots did there.
What I really like the most is how they rotated the running backs, and I thought that that was a really key piece and watching that game rotating the running backs really open things up for the Patriots.
I want to see them continue doing that kind of stuff.
I want to see them do that against Kansas City.
They got away from using and utilizing the running backs.
And that's what the team last year, where they did it when you had Gronkowski, Edelman, Door set and Hogan all four guys a Tom Brady trusted throwing the ball, too.
Yet you put the ball on the ground.
You put the ball in the running backs hands gave Sony Michelle time.
Um, yeah, and I just want to look at the stats of that game 2018 steps because I'm sure the running backs that I hate this stupid stat sheet for pro football references.
You just give me a normal stat line.
I'm getting all this advanced ****ytics, so never mind.
So yeah, man, I got a lot from that game and I'll be interested to watch Week five.
I will be interested to watch, um, the Tennessee game to see how they played against Tennessee, and that's yet really about it.
I'm not gonna watch the overtime.
We kind of we know what happened is great and sweet.
Is it is, um, I really just wanted to see how they attacked this game.
The defense did a pretty solid job.
And I think that what they really got to do on Sunday is make sure that they put pressure onto my homes and not give him a lot of time to throw that ball.
But I like to watch some of the games this year and really see how they're operating.
And Ah, hi, guys.
I know I wasn't very involved in the chat tonight.
If you want to get me involved now, you can.
If not, I could say the hell with you.
Go to Twitter and you can do it there.
I don't know what you guys thought of this tonight.
I don't know if you like it.
And if you didn't, if you didn't like it, I won't do it again.
I just thought to be something different.
I had a whole show to talk about.
I thought you know what? I'd really like to try something else.
So you know, it's cool.
I don't think it's something I could do every day, but I think it's something we could do from time to time.
So, uh, yeah, I think that Ah, I appreciate you guys.
Yeah, again, I don't think again.
I don't think I'll do this every day.
But maybe once a week we could re watch some games and that kind of thing.
I look at some more, film out some more conversation tomorrow.
Um, you know, this might be a once a week thing for me, though.
Really check it out and and And we can look at the page.
It's upcoming opponents.
And maybe look at, you know, some other stuff.
Uh, I'll be back tomorrow.
This would probably be good to do on Saturday for our opponents.
Yeah, I could make it a Saturday thing, that's for sure.
Um, maybe that's what I'll do.
Going for the only problem with Saturday's like I can't I won't be on this Saturday because I got company coming over.
So always make sure I d like a Friday or Saturday.
I won't be here Friday or Saturday.
Guys, I'm sorry I got **** going on this week and I will be back with you Sunday, obviously, for the play by Ray.
But I will be with here with you guys tomorrow and Thursday I'll be taking Friday and Saturday off.
I'll be back Sunday for the play by Ray.
Um Yep, that was what I sought to Rhino.
It's it's well, when he's pressured, he gets rid of the ball quickly.
Very similar to Tom Brady.
I mean, any any quarterback in the more time you give him, the better it is.
So, yeah, do it during Thursday Night Football.
Those games only matter when we're in it.
Yeah, Thursday night football might be a good day to do it right.
So you don't have to watch the Thursday night game.
You can listen to me talk about a former Patriot game, especially when we're trying to scout or a scout team that we're watching.
All right, guys, I'm gonna call that quits for the night.
I hope you all had fun.
Hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you so much for coming in.
It's more will be back to our regular sort.
Ah, you know, normality of a show.
I do got something I do want to talk about.
Um, so I'll bring that up tomorrow.
I think it would be fun. We could have a conversation.
Maybe Russell's rough ruffle some feathers will have to see.
I was all that being said.
Guys, thank you so much for tuning in. Take care.
