You know, why does lighting? So we're Anyway, give it a minute.
People can come in here.
We can have this discussion.
Start talking about this game.
Really? Get to talk about some specifics.
That is tough. Tough, tough.
What's good? We are about to get started here.
So I haven't done the actual video for my YouTube channel talking about the Panthers versus the Saints.
Ah, what's that got up today? But Loki, I was waiting on the of the injury report, and then I got caught up doing something else.
Today, couple things got in the way, but this is gonna be one of the first times I do this for the first time on or first here on SportsCastr doing a game preview.
Usually it is up first on my, um, my on my YouTube channel, but yeah, we're gonna talk about the Panthers chances in this game, and I guess that already kind of gives it away.
When I saw the Panthers, chances are not talking about, you know, I don't frame in a different way, but, uh, look, I can't really keep it short and sweet, but I'm gonna go ahead.
I will go ahead and keep it real to you.
I'll give this the kind of respect in the kind of death it deserves because really, is this could be about Alabama streaming only two minutes.
This could have been a 32nd stream.
You feel me? This could be it.
Really? It could be a really quick one of baseball that this could be a really quick stream.
But I'm gonna give you guys the full rundown of what I believe and what I think we're going to see out of this game here.
Now, first off, first off, let's just talk about things from, ah, very macro perspective.
Like 30,000 feet in the air.
What can we really expect out of this out of this game between the New Orleans Saints and they kill out of Panthers? There's two sets of numbers that I really want to get into.
First of all, first is his record.
Okay, is that we'll have to read it first.
So first is the same size eight and two, and the Panthers are five and five.
The Saints are for one at home, and this game is at the Dome.
So it is very hard to be very hard to be Drew Brees in the Dome.
But, yeah, the Saints have fought for one of the Dome, and the Panthers are three and two away.
But the second set of numbers are a set of numbers that I don't think very many people who I guess watch me.
A lot of sports fans in general.
Look at these numbers, but I think for the more casual sports fan, they don't really care about these numbers as much.
But it's very important, all right, So first off the ah, the point total in this game between the Panthers and the and the Saints Vegas has it at 46 which is one of the highest point totals off this upcoming week.
It's it's higher than the needs of the Giants Bears game higher than the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati game, higher than the the Broncos and the Bills.
It's just 1/2 point higher than the Browns in Miami.
Uh, obviously, it's higher than the Ah, the Detroit and the Redskins.
Actually, this actually is only lower than the Packers and Niners, which makes sense slower them Philly and, uh, and the Seahawks, which is too horrible.
Defense is going up against what 111 strong offense and an offense that could be good if the receivers do have a catch and the only the game that has a higher point total than this one is? Ah, the Falcons and the Bucks books have no past defense.
I guess that every one of them for the better passing offense in the league.
And I guess the defense is good now.
I mean, there's been two straight weeks we've seen the Falcons play some strong defense out of nowhere.
They changed their D coordinator.
Or did they change the D coordinator? Or do they change their? Uh, I think they just changed their play.
Caller on Jehovah begins in Washington.
That is, they just changed their who who calls a place for them on defense.
My lighting is mad.
Don't do it if they change, who calls their plays on defense for them so they look a lot better.
But yeah, this this this game from the parents of the saints, 46 points total but the Saints are 10 point favorites.
No, it doesn't happen very often.
Where? Where? Vegas.
That's the line in double digits.
For for many sports, I mean, even even a basketball.
It's hard to find a double digit, UH, point spread football.
It is very hard to find double digit point spreads.
Let me give you guys an example of me.
Just tell you who what Which teams this week have double digit point spreads? The Browns are 10.
1/2 point favorite over the Dolphins.
All right, that's a 10 point point spread.
Um, there's one more.
Think there's one more.
It's yet It's the no pull up.
No, that's That's it, That's it.
The only on the team that that has ah, 10 point point spread is the Browns over the Dolphins.
And the next closest point spread is, I think, 66 and 1/2 6 and 1/2.
Thea, this dealer's over Cincinnati, and that's not because the Steelers are even decent because the Bangles are horrible.
It was a horrible Uh, yeah, you don't see too many 10 point point spreads, but the spread never gets that high.
The spread never gets.
Doesn't really usually factor into what I think about games do previews, whatever.
But this week, you gotta look at that, because this is that.
That's a huge one.
It's a 10 point spread a temple in spread with a or this 46 46 up scoring total for this game.
So what is that? What is that? Was that equal eyes 23.
Got Vegas has that 13 to 33.
Now, on one hand, I do want to call that disrespectful.
All right, if you say that Pampers are only gonna score 13 points and that the the States are going to score 33 I would usually be like, Okay, hold up, hold up.
Can we? Can we please show my team some respect? Can we give me please look at the numbers and try to think about you know, just what's gonna happen here in the situation.
But but if we do look at it, we see the Saints did score 34 last week.
The game against the Falcons wasn't a very good one.
Jerry Sandusky has got re sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.
Whoa! How do you get re sentenced? He got re sentenced.
I just got that update.
I just got that update.
Do got re sentenced.
I'm getting a lot.
I'm doing this preview of the painters game, but I first I got I got a notification about Jerry Sandusky, and now I'm hearing Kimble's on a stretcher.
Now I'm hearing Kimble walkers on the stretcher.
I'm sorry. I got just looking up real quick.
That looks up very, very quickly because I'm ah, kind of getting derailed here.
Oh, man, Campbell.
That is very, very tough.
Jesus, These Celtics cannot stop getting crazy injuries.
That's that's what, Kimba, because this is Kim was here.
Hopefully gets better.
But this this is year toe finally be on a team that was actually good for once.
That's very tough.
Who but back to this better this off Falcons in about Rebecca, this Saints and Panthers game.
This is gonna be a really hard one because the saints are really good defense.
They're really good defense, very strong defense and their offenses is way, way, way more power than ours is.
Look, we're basically even right now in passing yards.
Allowed were 20th of development or the center 21st but only half a yard separates us in.
Ah, in passing yards against and passing yards against.
That's not really all that big.
We also have very similar sack numbers.
We've got 35 *** over the season.
They've gotten 31.
We've when? I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
No, we've gotten We've gotten 32 way 39.
I think I'm looking at a 20 yard bombs.
So we were gonna wait more Saxon them.
That was a very weird place for that stat somewhere else.
But we've wave where we have better.
I guess counting numbers, debts, But we're actually very, very even in how it looks when we have 12 interceptions to their eight.
But the effectiveness is about the same we get.
We've gotten those takeaways more so earlier in the season, and we haven't seen the same kind of very aggressive, the same kind of Ah, uh, really great e kind of defense from this Panther squad in the last couple of weeks, someone's been due to injury leaves we saw we saw James Bradberry go out.
Then we saw, uh, Ross **** will be out and they don t get bombed.
We saw our pass rush not be what it was earlier on.
We've seen a lot of things happened to this defense.
That is, in some ways you can't explain it.
But in other ways, it's just very, very hard to explain.
Like why some guys aren't blowing this heart.
We see Brian Burns.
Brian Burns has not done a single thing in a while now that because he hurt his wrist, I think he hurt his wrist punching the turf.
I think I was weak.
He punched the turf in the game.
He came out for play, came back in, but then he showed up in a club.
We'll show up with the club like casts on his arm, and he wasn't as effective.
He's gonna snap count and he's been on that snap count.
They went from the club like a different kind of soft cat or will Absolutely.
A soft cast was, Ah, heart cast, but But it wasn't.
It wasn't as limiting and as restrictive as a club, but But we haven't seen is we haven't seen that same kind of fire, that same kind of production out of Brian Burns that we saw early early on in the season.
Now we get to run defense.
This is what really sets that Panthers and the Saints apart is gonna be the the this the biggest factor here.
The Saints are third in the league in rushing yards allowed per game.
3 rush yards. Allow per game.
Now, look, we all understand what I've been saying for always start every single one of these these previews talking about team to say, Yeah, they have a good run defense, but no team has ever been, uh, they might have played some good running backs.
They might have played some good running back tandems or team that really get running schemes in coaching staffs.
And our offensive coordinators who know howto use the running game to their advantage.
But not a single team we've played has ever gone up against a Christian McCaffrey.
Unless you're the Bucks, you're not gonna stop Christopher McAffrey from getting his numbers Now.
Sometimes it matters and we get wind.
Sometimes it doesn't really matter.
See Matt gonna get his stats.
He'll get his touchdown, but it doesn't really help.
It isn't really have the biggest impact on the game.
Causes other elements coming in coming and they're involved here.
But the biggest step of phobia Saints in their run defense isn't the number of yards they allow per game.
It's that they've only been run on AA 199 times this season.
No one runs against this team.
No. Well, right now it's been 205.
It's been 205 times they've been run on this whole season.
205 is the least amount of times any team has run has been run on this whole year for the for the NFL.
And what that tells me is that the Saints are always ahead.
It's not the only they only played a bunch of passing teams.
Is that the Saint score so fast and so often and so quickly that you don't really You really can't be running the ball.
We get down to scores.
You really can't run the ball, you gotta pass it.
You gotta add a ball out.
You have to go out there and you have to pass a lot.
Which makes it even more impressive that, you know, they only allow 230.
So 2030 or so yards for game through the air.
Because you're not getting run on and you are only allowing your allowing less than 250 passes passing yardage game.
You're doing something right.
The defense looks really good.
They're not really getting too many ***.
They're not really getting a bunch of interceptions.
But the defense is solid, and that's gonna lead me to the Panthers run defense that paid those run defense his bottom six bottom six in the league, allowing over 125 rushing yards a game.
What? Jamie, what a winky face.
It's all stream of Miguel out.
Passing your rushing yards.
You can't do that.
18 rushing touchdowns total against us.
We lead the league in that.
I mean, the next closest is 13.
Can you imagine? We've allowed 18 rushing touchdowns the next.
The next highest rushing touchdown total against is the Bangles.
It's the big Ingles.
That's not really the kind of company You want to keep in any sort of defensive stat? Not the Bangles.
Uh, it's just this this is no really good way looking at this.
And when you consider okay, maybe we're bad run defense, But we didn't We Look, we didn't do good against Brian Hill in the Falcons last week.
Maybe, you know, some rust after them turning around will be all right.
But, uh, when you're going against the saints and you have to do with Octavius Murray and then Oh, yeah, This is another guy named Alvin Kimera.
What do you do? You had to deal with yet to deal with Kimera Alito.
Devious Murray, This is not gonna be a very pretty game.
In fact, I would say that this game right here you could even stop.
You really could stop.
They really You really couldn't stop Atle TVs Murray and Alan Kimera and say this is automatically a loss.
You can have Jeff Driskel as your quarterback.
And you could have, I guess, awed.
And Tate? Ah, uh, Tyler Boyd.
You're gonna have Randall Cobb.
And this ran a random people.
Just this random Sze random zad, You're receiving corps.
And this would still be a win for the Saints.
But then you have to go ahead and get to talk about Drew Brees, the most accurate quarterback of all time.
And then you have to go ahead and talk about Michael Thomas, one of the best receivers off this era.
But I think when Michael Thomas is completed, when he's done, when everything's said and done, Michael Thomas will go down as one of the best receivers off all the time.
It's kind of crazy to think about because, you know, when you have players who aren't running, what do you know? How guys like Tom Brady, who you just know already is a generational talent and uh, he's gonna be.
He's definitely considered one of the best all time.
He'll say he's the greatest of all time.
I think he's the greatest, but I don't think he was.
He's ever been the most talented, like the best thrower, the best guy who could do so many different things with the ball with throwing that kind of stuff.
But definitely one of the greatest was not one of the best.
Michael Thomas is one of the most productive and one of the most talented receivers of all time.
Onley been? Look, he's only been in the league for four years.
Demands only 26.
The man's 26 years old, but he's gonna break 5000 yards.
He's already gonna break.
She's gonna be He's gonna break 5000 yards.
In his 1st 4 years in the league.
He's already gotten.
He's already gotten 28 touchdowns.
He has never been under under 1100 yards.
92 Cat is 1100 yards.
Second year, 104 catches, 1200 yards.
125 catches, 1400 yards This year.
Already 10 games in 94 catches.
What do you think's gonna happen? What do you think is gonna happen with Drew Brees? Michael Thomas, Alvin Kimera.
The Tae Vee is Murray at some point.
Look, what's the run? Get set in.
First off or I go Well, I go this when I go.
That's what I do with this Christ.
I think I've already talked on the run defense Enough.
I won't talk about football theory and they get to the past you guys already know it's not really football.
I say football theory and make it sound way deeper than it really is.
But let's be real about this.
If a team was running against you at some point, you're gonna have to change and adjust your defense to be able to stop that run or at least bottling up at least contained that run.
Uh, but let's be real here.
If, uh, if the painters do anything to try to stop that run, you're gonna open yourself up to the past.
And when he opened yourself up to the past, even more for Drew Brees because you don't really need to be like Drew Brees does not need the biggest opening Thio.
Let himself do things to your offense, to your defense.
You don't like that.
You don't have to give Drew Brees the biggest window of all time.
He doesn't need the biggest window of all time.
This man's accurate when you have Michael Thomas.
I stopped there, really, But you have Ted Ginn, who used to play for us.
He's fast becoming bad this year.
Trick on Smith, who is not all that great.
But he's not bad either.
I don't know much about Dante Harris, honestly.
But really, you see, if you watch Saints games, you see that just like the Falcons with Matt Ryan and Ah, Julio Drew Brees will throw the ball to Michael Thomas.
Every single down, he's gonna throw the ball to Michael Thomas every single down and Michael Thomas will catch it.
I've talked about James Bradberry before and how James Bradberry the last two years.
He's really bottled up these big name top 10 receivers in our division.
Mike Evans, Mike Top, Michael Thomas and Julio.
There's only been one game where we saw Julio has been central.
Seven out of seven games we played against Julio in the last two years.
Who goes on Lee ever got him one touchdown and 1 100 yard game.
The Mike Evans has been has been bottled up by by Brian Berry.
For the most part, the only guy who's had decently not even really consistent, but he's been getting his numbers when he's on the field against James Bradberry is this man, Michael Thomas.
Michael Thomas does not care who was on him Now.
I don't think that James, Brad break and Can can do a little something, but I'm gonna be as real as it gets here.
I don't know what to expect.
I don't know if I can.
Like, realistically, I don't know if I can realistically expect this man James Bad Berry to bottle up a guy who in his last can I Can I go? Last six weeks here Last week.
First tape of bay.
Eight catches, 114 yards, one touchdown two weeks ago.
Russ Atlanta, 13 catches 152 yards.
Which they're gonna buy with nine week 8 11 catches, 112 yards and a touchdown.
Week seven First, the Bears nine catches, 131 yards.
Week six verses. The Jags.
It catches 90 year or 89 yards.
And before that week, five of us have a bay 11 catches, 182 yards and two touchdowns.
Do you really want me? Oh, what am I going to say? My God, I'm not gonna sit here in life.
You would say, Hey, this is gonna be James Bradbury's week against this guy.
The do is getting the dew is getting targets upon targets.
Look, he's please.
What? 10 games? It's been 10 games for the things on Lee.
Only two of those games Onley two of those games.
He's gotten less than 10 targets and only two of those games.
He's gotten enough investment three games, three of his three with 10 games.
Actually, no, no.
Five games, five games.
He's gotten less than 10 receptions, but 12 of those games you got Lesson two receptions.
He dig in over 100 yards catching.
So it's kind of hard for me to sit here and say that we're going to stop Michael Thomas when the only time he really got Stop was against the Seahawks defense in Week three.
I just got a weird things.
The Seahawks defense has not been good, but I guess maybe they are.
They're a good early or at least decent early.
He hasn't had a bad game.
He only had two games that are kind of bad.
One was 10 yards or what was five yard for 54 or five captured 54 yards and a touchdown.
The other was eight catches, 89 yards, No touchdowns.
Those are his two worst games.
He has a ton of great games.
It's hard for me is it's hard for me to really sit here and say that this isn't gonna be what Vegas says gonna be, which is borderline a blowout.
I just don't see any other way around.
It are D's and play the way it needs to.
Um, our offense led by led by how Alan.
We see what Karl Allen is.
He's a guy's a backup that time in the bath.
It's not a horrible thing.
You've told me like a guy being our backup court by finding out your backup quarterback is a backup quarterback isn't exactly the the picture, the biggest shock in the world so far.
I mean, the guy's the guy's been five and three and starts you have a backup starting eight games.
Him ending up five and three is not the worst of scenarios.
But it's not a great scenario when, uh, you know that your starter guy is not coming back.
So if you know that, so let's let's just say your star is gonna gonna go on eight weeks.
But we know that Cam's could be back this week.
Cow Alan going going five and three minutes starts isn't so bad if we know that Cam's coming back 100% healthy, but it's a little bit different.
It's a little bit different when there's no.
There's no one else coming to save the day when you know your stuff with that backup for the rest of season, and you've seen how the offense looks.
Not question, Kathy looks good.
E J more hasn't playing really, really good Greg Olsen here and there.
They actually involved into the offense, which is good, but not very often does it happen.
So, like, I don't know what to expect from him with the week.
I know I can depend on him, but I also know that the team doesn't do it very consistently, and then we get to the really inconsistent of position group and ah, and that is the offensive line.
This old line is not good, all right.
The old line is not good.
The old line will get cooked.
Look, we understand this man Desmond Injuries.
There's been guys who are coming straight off of injury.
We know that, um that Dennis Dailey was 1/6 round draft pick who was only in there by pretty solidly up until two weeks ago.
But he was only in there because Greg Little, who's a second round draft pick rookie, had a concussion that had him out for 67 weeks.
Lasting was his first week back.
We know that Darryl Williams had a season ending injury early on last season, and he has not looked good and anywhere.
But the Guard position hasn't looked good.
Left tackle, which is not his natural position, didn't better look all that great at right tackle because, honestly, I don't think he's been getting all that much, um, all that much work out at the right tackle spot in practice just because, um, just because he's been made toe telephones there and he's been made to play guard so even less natural position.
He's been practicing as a guard for the majority for the majority of this season.
So when you get your technique down as offensive lineman talking very something really, really simple position, it's about technique and consistency and movement and synergy, and it's not about individual play the old line as a unit has to be good, and it's kind of hard to get when you're switching out what you're doing every other week.
It's kind of hard to adjust to that, especially coming off a season where you had a season ending injury.
So I mean and also with the rest of allies, all that great.
You can't have you a no line can have one weak link and still perform.
But if you have 23 weak links, it's Ah, it's bad.
So I mean, I don't know what to say about this game other than I would be lying.
I'd be I'd be the biggest lie of all time if I were to sit here and tell you it was gonna be a pretty game.
I and also I'd be lying if I said that, uh, that I believe Vegas.
What Vegas has said I'm not even real issue.
Keep it real with you.
After the Saints lost to the Falcons two weeks ago, they're gonna take it out on us.
They killed the They scored 30 for mid bucks last week.
And look at our last one to see what James Winston did.
Liston, 30 for 51 313 yards, two touchdowns for receptions.
That's about what I expect out of that guy.
Uh, they couldn't run the ball at all.
Yeah, they did look like I mentioned earlier about the Russia Temps.
They only had eight rush attempts all Game eight rush attempts all game because the Saints went up 13 to early were down 13 and I don't know and at the same state scores.
Seven second quarter.
So I don't know if it was 20 over, it was 13 7 and then it got to be 27.
But the point is, when you're down two scores early, you really can't run the ball exactly when the Saints keep scoring.
Eight total Russia tips from the Bucks, and they only had 35 36 yards on the ground.
You got the ball when he had demons Winston out there.
He's gonna turn the ball over.
And what do you expect Kyle Allen to do if he has to throw the ball with, like, a high volume like this man James with into the ball 50 times Don't see that happening.
Are running backs aren't, uh, Aren't Ronald Jones and Dario about Bali? But ah, if we want, if we're going to try to win this game, if you're trying to fight in this game, you're gonna have the pass.
And how Allen is really good at driving down the field when he gets in that red is all that.
If he thought he started getting mill risky, I'll get a little risky in the red zone.
You feel me? Uh, there's gonna be a tough one.
But like I said, I see the state's trying their hardest Take it out on us.
Drew Brees through 35 times and only got 228 yards in that game.
Three touchdowns, but only through for two only differ over 200 yards just over 20 yards.
He's gonna want to take it out on us, actually different to 28.
And Michael Thomas had exactly half of that at 1 14 Not tell you Michael Thomas will get this rock poem, man.
Vegas thinks it's gonna be 13 to 33.
I have a hard time believing the saints don't drop 40 on us.
They dropped 34 last week.
I have a hard time thinking the Saints won't drop 40. Honest.
I just I just don't see anything less than 40 and it's hard to predict 40 points.
Look, you really there's not a single time, a single moment in time that you can really realistically.
And there's no smart moment when you can say, Oh, yes, Oh, this is gonna score four youngest team.
This is one of those moments where I'm gonna choose to be dumb but woke when I say these Saints will score 41 points on this team and they may not all be offense of touchdowns.
You think I'm talking about a Camaro? Octavius Murray and Michael Thomas and Drew Brees? No, no, no.
I would not be surprised if we see some defensive touchdowns from this same steam.
It would probably be something like 21 to 40 2141.
I probably 21 to 41 who saints.
It's gonna be a bad one, I think for sure, and I think for sure we don't cover.
We do not cover a 10 point spread.
Well, no matter what the score is bet the money is gonna be hard.
I don't know what the actual money line is.
Uh, but whatever it is is this is a game.
If you're gonna bet if you're a gambling addict, I just would not even bet on this game because, uh, you met the panthers, then kiss your money.
Goodbye, buddy. Better the Saints.
So much money just to earn 100 that it's not even worth.
What are you? Span thing on it? Bucks toe win 100.
It's not worth it.
Just don't even do it at all.
Um, also don't bet at all betting.
Betting bad anyway.
Yeah, it sounds horrible, but I'm saying 21 to 41 21 for us might be a little high and ambitious, but I think we'll get some garbage time kind of scoring going on for us.
Uh, this'll is gonna be really tough.
This might be the game.
We actually take out Christian McCaffrey before the dwindling last.
Like a minute or so of the game.
We might not see Christian McCaffrey in the fourth quarter.
This could be the game to do it, you know, im sa not free right now of a full in depth breakdown.
Video on YouTube tomorrow.
Early than early. Like afternoon.
Like one o'clock till then.
Thanks for watching. We'll be back tomorrow.
