waiting for people to come in here and, uh, get started.
We'll talk a little bit about this game, and I think I have talked Aton about this game already.
I was just on a live stream for the Ravens yesterday at CG Sports Network and, uh, just recorded a podcast on it.
But I love this game and the reason I love this game.
I think you know, you're you're talking about maybe the best team in all of football in Baltimore Ravens and a team now with rams that if they don't win this game, that I think this is really the season.
So this is huge.
Um, I'm gonna be sharing this around, and then, uh, you know, we'll get started.
You more feel free to leave some comments, questions concerns you may have.
I will interact with all of them are gonna be doing this daily.
Uh, if you guys don't know me, I'm Jake Ellen Bogen.
I basically run downtown rams.
I co host a podcast with Alexis Craft and ah, I'm everywhere.
You can find me at Jake a Bogan D t r on Twitter.
Ah, let's see here.
What's up, Angels angel.
I see that you joined.
I appreciate it. Thank you so much.
You guys are wondering why I'm staring off into space.
My Mac book actually isn't working.
For whatever reason, it is because obviously, I'm able to do this, but, um, I don't have display, so I can't see anything that's going on here.
I have my dual minors.
Here s that is why I'm looking into the abyss.
But, um, yeah, I'm just, ah, gonna wait until some people, you know, join.
I'm posting this all over social media and hopes that I'll get a bunch of people that join.
But all right, that's probably Ah, that's good enough.
I can't let you guys just wait any longer.
So, again, I'm Jake.
Um, pretty much run downtown Rams Rams were playing the Ravens.
This gonna be a fun game.
This is a month at a football game.
This is prime time.
This is the Rams.
Need to win this game.
The Ravens not so much.
Um I mean, first and foremost the Rams.
They're getting healthy again.
Looks to me like they're gonna have branding cooks back and It also looks to me like they could have Robert Woods back.
You must last week due to a personal issue.
And, of course, cooks missed multiple weeks now due to a concussion.
And you know his history with concussions.
If you follow the NFL, if you follow the Patriots, the Saints or the Rams.
He's had concussions on all three of those teams, so it's a serious thing.
Um, I'm a little worried about him.
I hope he stays healthy because he is dynamic.
But it goes past football, you know, obviously, you just hope, you know, just the person.
Um, he's able to fight through this and not suffer another concussion again, cause it could get career ending and then it could get really serious really quickly.
So, um, you know, that's what I'll say about that.
But the way I see this game going down, it's definitely gonna be very interesting.
Um, first off, you see, you know, the Ravens, their offense.
Ah, you know Lamar Jackson.
What can you say to me? I think he's probably the m v p of the league right now.
Um and then, you know, I think on the other side you have.
Jared Goff, who's really struggling, has not been the same quarterback like he was last year.
And, you know, part of that has to do with not establishing the run early on the season.
Very predicated on the play action passing attack.
And, you know, part of it has to do with starting, you know, you go from your built Ford tough offensive line of the year two.
You know, Now you're starting.
Um, you know, two first year starters.
No boom Joe, No boom. Third round.
Pick out a TCU and Brian Allen, Um, who is 1/4 round pick out of Michigan State? Those guys were starting to start the year.
Not Brian Allen gets hurt. Joseph.
No. Boom gets hurt.
Ah, rookies in David Edwards out of Wisconsin fifth rounder.
And they're starting Bobby Evans, um, out of Oklahoma third rounder.
And then they're even starting a guy that the Browns just basically threw away in Austin.
Corbin, a former 33rd overall pick.
So there's a lot of turnover here, you know, rightfully so.
But it's been less about, you know, the offense of line and more about what is Jared Goff doing when he's not pressured and he has not been the same quarterback.
So you have to hope that obviously he bounces back and to believe it or not, I actually do think he's going to do that.
Whether it's me being hopeful or not.
I do believe that Jared Goff is going to bounce back this week.
I think he's gonna need Thio because the Ravens of the toughest team right now, Lamar Jackson and that offense is averaging more than anybody per game and rightfully so.
But I will say this.
You look at the running game.
You look at the fact that the Rams have now started to pound the rock with Todd Gurley.
If they continue to do that, they're going to be a tough out because I think you know once you do that, you unlocked the play action passing attack and you take a load of pressure off Jared Golf.
On top of that Todd Gurley and many running backs like to you stay within a rhythm.
When you take Todd Gurley out of the game, you might be thinking it's an innocent thing.
Putting in a change of pace back for a little bit, maybe a Siri's or two.
It throws off a guy's rhythm and you've seen that this year.
So I do think that's something that can't be understand.
What's up? Terrible. Alex.
How's it going, man? Um, so that's something I'm definitely interested to see.
Will they continue to pound the rock with Todd Gurley? That that's big key on the Ravens side of things, marking a good back.
Gus Edwards, underrated, and Justice Hill, the third round pick at Oklahoma State.
Somebody that I think is very talented is probably more, you know, future peace.
But he could still get things going, and he's a sleeper in this one.
If you if you ask, play daily fantasy, any of the showdowns that had two heads or anything like that, he might be an interesting play in daily fantasy.
But with that being said, I do think I would give the nod to the Rams backfield.
I would give the nod to Lamar Jackson at quarterback, of course, and then you look at the receivers and this is where I think things were going.
Thio come easier for the ramps because I think what the Rams conduce.
Oh, and I don't know if they'll do this, but what the Rams defense canoe is, they can put Jalen Ramsey.
Yes, that's right.
Jalen Ramsey, the cornerback, One of the best quarterbacks, all football.
I believe he might actually be the best quarterback in football.
They could put Jalen Ramsey as a linebacker for this game only.
And why do I say that? Well, last week, the way David Long played against the Bears was very intriguing to me.
The way Troy Hill is played, Um, you guys saw him.
Some of my football, he's really turned himself around.
It looked really good.
And then, of course, the hell will be calm and everyone knows, because of the, you know, the pass interference call.
But he's a very talented corner, and he's probably the best nickel corner in the game, in my opinion.
So you have those three guys.
So why am I putting Jalen Ramsey at linebacker? I'll tell you why I want Jalen Ramsey.
If I'm the Rams, I'm doing this on Jalen Ramsey to spy Lamar Jackson all game, or he has the athletic ability to come close.
Keep in mind. Linebackers.
They run the four fives now four fours.
If you're Devin Bush, Um, is great as Corey Littleton's Ben this year.
He is not a, you know, physical freak.
He's a good line.
He's a great linebacker.
I do believe he is kind of gone into that top 10 range.
Um, but I think as an athlete, he's still a good athlete.
He's not an elite athlete like Lamar Jackson is now in steps.
You can actually have him run sideline to sideline, at least come close to stopping him.
I don't know if it will work, but it's probably your best bet.
But I would love to see the Rams try.
That really would, Um, I think it's something that probably no one has come up with, and I've now said this multiple times.
I've said this on podcast.
I've said that on a different live stream, but I really believe that would be a smart way for the Rams to approach things, because here is why I believe it's not just the cornerbacks that I feel good about, but also the fact that the Ravens, they have a lot of these good wide receivers.
They have to, uh, you know, future guys in marquees brown That obviously could make you pay over the top now, but he's really a one trick pony. At this moment.
They haven't really used him consistently.
He's more of a deep threat.
I had a really good first game of his career, and then Miles Boykin another guy that I think could turn into something down the road.
But Miles breaking, as of right now is he's raw, uh, athlete raw talent that you're gonna have to take some time to develop.
So then you look at guys like Seth Roberts who are, you know, they're fourth number four guys, number five guys and then Willie Snead.
I think it's a model of consistency.
But Sinead isn't going to be a Julio Jones and, you know, really test your defense.
So what I'm saying is you don't need Jalen Ramsey to take ah, Julio Jones or on a J.
Green or Michael Thomas or somebody like that out of the game.
And the reason I says, because the Ravens don't have anybody like that, their number one target is either Mark Ingram from Lamar Jackson from a football or Mark Andrews.
Now I know what Ravens fans are thinking.
Mark Andrews is great.
He's gonna have no problem against the Rams.
And this is where I'll stop you.
Because the Rams also, while the Ravens have three really good tight ends, they have a great stable of tight ends.
They have Mark Andrews.
They have Nick Boyle and they have, um, Hayvenhurst 23 really good tight ends.
But the Rams have three really good safeties that can combat that they have marquee Christian.
I was actually starting in place of John Johnson, the third, who also would be another good option.
Eric Weddle, who's very familiar with this Ravens team, and Taylor wrapped the rookie out of Washington.
Ah, second round pick that has played very well, Marquis Christian was asked.
The tough test of going up.
I get a thank you for the 10 man.
I appreciate that.
Thank you so much. Terrible.
Alex on Marquis Christian had the tough task of going up against one of the hottest tight ends in football in Austin. Hooper.
What did Christian D'oh? Well, he tried his ****edest to keep him out of the end zone.
And really, when going back and watching the film.
I thought he was incredible against Austin.
Well, Hooper caught a touchdown.
Yeah, that was after they took all the Rams starters out and they put in the backups.
And that's why that was Matt Shab throwing a garbage town garbage time touchdown to Austin.
Hooper wouldn't look too much into that.
So I think the Ravens, you know, in general, uh, I don't think they should sleep on Marquis Christian.
I think he's playing very well.
Ah, Midwestern state product.
Somebody that was drafted, I believe in the fifth round by the Arizona Cardinals.
Kind of a funny story here is they tried to cut him.
Um, he made the 53.
Initially, they tried to cut him in 2016 and sneak him onto the practice squad, and the Rams were playing the Cardinals that game.
So the Rams picked him up.
They put him run their 53 and everyone was saying, like all the Rams fans were convinced they were telling me this is just an Intel thing.
They're picking him up and then they're gonna drop him, and I said no, like this marquee Christian kid has some some things going for him, you know, I like his, Ah, his understanding of the game.
I like they complain in the box.
I like how he can Ah, in my opinion, I think he can cover very well, you know, deep down the field and, uh, just somebody that just seems to get it has a feel for the game.
So I definitely felt like Marky Christian ah was going to last longer than a week in.
Sure enough, here is the Rams have not caught him since.
And I bet the Cardinals were kind of annoyed about that, but that's neither here nor there.
The point is, Marquis Christian Taylor, Rap and Eric Weddle are going to do their best job.
I think in, you know, being able to cover guys like Mark Andrews Hayvenhurst in the Boyle.
Um, without being said, I do think, you know, obviously I've thrown out some Something's there, you know, with Jalen Ramsey playing linebacker and spying Lamar Jackson and how you know they're for everything.
You d'oh! You're going to leave something available.
So by having Jalen Ramsey there, I picked him because he's a bigger Ah, you know Corner.
He's more filled out.
He's very similar to Mark Baron, who also started for the Rams, a pseudo linebacker last year and, you know, in years Prior.
So the Rams we're used to having kind of that undersized linebacker settled think would be a huge deal.
But if the Ravens were able to, you know, run through the Rams offensive, are the run through their offensive line run through the Rams defensive line, then now you're putting Jalen Ramsey in a in a little bit of a bad spot where he might get run over by, Um, so you know, that's kind of Ah, no downside to that.
Here's how I see the Rams defending Lamar Jackson that because I know people are interested.
How are they gonna do it? What's up, Dave? With the Dolphins? How's it going, man? Thanks so much for joining.
Um, here's how I see it, though.
The way I see it is this.
The Rams had a very particular way that they defended the Dallas Cowboys in the playoff game last year, and everyone was like, Yeah, you know, Zika Elliot's going to absolutely dominate this team.
I got the Cowboys in this game, and I kept thinking myself, Mike, Wade Phillips isn't gonna allow that.
And how do you do that? You sell out to stop the run.
Now, that sounds crazy, because it's like you have Aaron, Donald.
You would want to put all the pressure you can and, you know, win this game that way.
When you have somebody like Lamar Jackson, you can turn that pursuit.
You could turn that aggressiveness around and turn in over pursuit, and then you can turn it into, you know, seeing guys out of, uh, you know, out of their positioning and all of the sudden and Lamar Jackson inside of keeping everything in front of them.
They have now gone for, you know, the big blow where they wanted to strip sack Lamar or, you know, hit him hard behind the last scrimmage.
Put a hit that you know, could force a fumble they miss.
And now Lamar has opened field.
And that's the thing.
I don't expect the Rams actually do that.
They are an aggressive defense, but Wade Phillips is smart.
He does is, you know, his best job against these younger quarterbacks.
I think they will use him zone.
That kind of, you know, full Lamar bait him into some throws that he's gonna wish he didn't make.
And I think that they'll do a nice job of selling out to stop the run, setting the edge, not being overly aggressive with the blitzing, Um, and I think just by keeping everything in front of them, forcing Lamar to have to make plays.
Ah, with his arm, which I think he's still extremely underrated as a passer.
I think Lamar Jackson is phenomenal and he was my number one quarterback coming out of the draft.
I don't want, you know, to get you to get that twisted, but I think obviously we would all agree he's a better runner than a passer because he is just such a He's such a different player, you know, I would say he might be more.
I think he's more dynamic than Michael Vick.
I mean, I know it sounds crazy.
Ah, but I mean he really is a quarterback that just has elite athleticism, and he's constantly just trying to make a play.
He's not going to settle.
He's not gonna. He doesn't even slide, really.
I mean, it's very you know it.
It's often he doesn't slide.
So I am worried about the Rams injuring him because huge fan of him and a huge fan of what the Ravens were doing with John Harbaugh on.
I'm a huge fan of what they did by bringing John Harbaugh back despite all the noise.
So, you know, I think that will definitely be something.
And I think you also have to give some props to, um, the offensive coordinator, somebody that I don't think you know, gets enough.
Um, you know, credit. And that's Greg.
This is the same offensive coordinator that you're Colin Kaepernick.
Um you know, was leading his team to the Super Bowl now, granted, they had a great defense.
They had a great head coach and they had Greg Roman, who let call in, do the things that Colin could do and put him in the best situation to succeed.
Now fast forward.
A little bit go to when Greg Roman was with Buffalo and you saw Tyrod Taylor lead the Bills to a back to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.
Greg Roman allowed Tyrod Taylor to do the things that he was able to do the things that would make him comfortable and make him be able to succeed.
It's not anything where he's super.
He's not the super scheme guy.
But you know, guys like Greg Room and don't get enough credit because you're not trying to, you know, put this guy into your scheme like the biggest issue I have a chip.
Kelly, back when he was with the Eagles, is It was like my system, and I feel like that's the most misguided thing.
It's not your system.
You have to fit your system around the player, not the other way around.
And so you know, the way I see it is that, you know, Greg Roman does just that with Lamar Jackson.
He gives him every out possible.
Lamar really has a lot of control with this offense, a lot of speed options, a lot of zone reads a lot of our pios.
And then, of course, he just is so a like he's so comfortable to go off schedule.
And now he's starting to, you know, regain his confidence, throwing on the run and become a better pastor on the run.
He's just becoming such a lethal weapon, and I think Ray Roman has a lot to do with that.
Not because he's he's the reason for it.
But he's putting Lamar in a better spot than most offensive coordinators would and how most offensive coordinators would handle somebody with the traits.
So that's how I feel about that.
Um, we haven't talked about the Ravens defense enough, so I really like guys like Michael Pierce, Brandon Williams and, of course, you know, you have guys that Chris Wormley and Matthew Jude on and Jalen Ferguson.
And so I mean, there's a lot of talent.
The defensive line.
I like Josh Bynes.
I like, Ah, you know, Tyus Bowser.
I like their secondary, but I think, you know, going back to earlier in the year, it was the Ravens who had lost a game to the Chiefs.
They gave up 33 points.
That defense did, and then the defense gave up 40 to Cleveland.
And here's Here's my issue with the Ravens in this one, because I think the key to the Ravens was when they got Marcus Peters and so Peter's.
When he came in, he was he was what they need it.
He was the thing that they were missing, right? Well, when he comes in, everything has changed.
He's playing in the scheme that fits him the best.
And obviously it's allowing him to feel more comfortable And, you know, making those, um, you know, kind of those gambles.
I mean, this is something that plays a lot like, you know, generous Jenkins.
Kind of an all or nothing type of player.
Um, but he's also very good cooker just in general.
However, I will say this.
The Ravens without Marcus Peters, their defense was good, not great at times was susceptible to getting beaten by better offenses than the norm.
I know the Rams haven't played that way, but something's got to give here when you have guys like Todd Gurley and Cooper Cup and Robert Woods and Brandin cooks and you know, just the way I mean, obviously Jared Goff has struggled, but you know the way he played last year, and you have, you know, Gerald Evren, Tyler Higbee and the way Johnny Munch is played as a blocker and the way he's been able to get open and create separation this year.
Although golf hasn't thrown him.
Um, if they live the offensive line place the way they did.
I mean, this isn't just your your everyday offense if they get back to any bit like they were last year.
This is not an easy offense.
And the biggest thing here that no one's talking about, except maybe Rams fans, because they're thinking about this and they're thinking, Mmm.
Who was in the Rams building for the last year and 1/4? Oh, that was Marcus Peters, who is being considered the difference maker for the Baltimore Ravens defense.
Could I not make the argument that Marcus Peters, by being in that facility, he might know? You know a thing or two about the Rams, but the Rams know him like the back of their hand.
They know his weaknesses.
They know his strengths.
Sean McVeigh canned scheme around it.
They can get him to bite on, you know, maybe a double move here and double move there.
I mean, he give up, not him alone.
But he was part of the reason Michael Thomas and Week nine last year went for 220 yards.
Um, it was around that I mean he is susceptible to getting beat.
So he's He's playing really well.
But now a team of familiarity, of his style of play and behind the scenes look with his style of play.
It's gonna be interesting guys to see how well he plays, you know, for the Ravens, because the Rams nullify him and they take him away and they're able to beat him.
You're looking at the Ravens defense with little bit more experience with Jalen Ferguson because he's a rookie.
But you're looking at pretty much the same Ravens team the Ravens defense without, you know, Marcus Peters that lost to Kansas City and lost to the Browns.
And I think that's what really gives. The Rams are shot.
I think the Rams were finding their offensive by Dante.
I think they had to lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers to really, you know, get it through Sharma craze skull that Look, you have to run the football Todd Gurley.
Um and I think that the Rams air finding themselves now.
It's early because they did go up against, you know, Mitch, Strabinsky and the Bears, who are kind of falling from grace.
But this is a huge opportunity for the Rams.
They're playing at the Coliseum.
They hadn't been in the Coliseum in weeks because if you think about it, they lost the 40 Niners and then they went right to Atlanta and then they went right to London.
And then they went on their by.
And then they went right to Pittsburgh and then they went back home.
So they have been away from the Coliseum for a bit, only to win their first game back against the Bears.
And now they're going up against, um, you know, the Ravens.
So the Bears defense, I guess you know, good news for the Ramses.
The Bears defense is, you know, up there.
It's one of the better defense.
Is there? Just not, you know, as elite as they were last year.
Part of that had to do with Vic Fangio, but this defense that the Ravens have is no joke.
However, I do think that there are holes and there are ways that they can exploit them.
And I also think that is good as guys like Marlon Humphrey are Earl Thomas, Chuck Clark's playing, Um, you know Brandon Carr and, of course, Marcus Peters.
You know the way to combat good coverage is good receiver play.
And I think, the Ram said, the best trio in football at that position with Cup Woods and ah, Cooks, which I don't think many people would disagree with that.
But then what? The way Reynolds has been playing in cooks and Woods is absence.
That's also something to feel good about, as well as the fact that used ta girly at the back field.
**** General Henderson.
And they can throw in there.
And Malcolm Brown.
So there's a lot of, you know, different areas.
Um, I'm gonna wrap this up with a score prediction.
If you guys haven't already heard the podcast, you confined the downtown Rams podcast anywhere you get your podcasts, Alexis Craft and I, um you know, we co host that, and we just did a Ravens preview, but I see this game gonna be 35.
I know it's crazy.
I know, but I have the Rams winning this football game.
Um, you know, I really felt like the Ravens.
We're gonna win this football game, but now I'm really leaning towards the Rams.
I just think that the way they played against the Bears, I think the casual family look and be like they have no chance.
This is a team that can't score.
They were awful.
I didn't look at it like that.
I looked at it like they use baby steps and they might have found their offensive identity as long as they run the ball with Robert Woods.
Our Robert Woods loves to run the ball with Todd Gurley.
I think they're gonna be fine.
I mean, they can run the ball with Robert Woods, too.
Don't get me wrong, but Todd Gurley is the guy.
He needs at least 25 touches a game.
In my opinion, um and you know, good things happen.
The Rams are also undefeated when he gets to 25 touches and that goes back, you know, in the mix a era.
Um So the way I see it is that I think the Rams do stick with run.
I think it opens up the play action pass for Jared Goff.
I think the fact that Brandin cooks is back you can take the top off the defense.
The underneath throws air gonna come available for Jared Goff, the Rams.
We're going to have, you know, the quick slants to cup in Woods.
Then they're gonna throw more dose of, you know, heavy dose of running the football with Todd.
And then if they have to use Todd in the ah, you know the passing game, they will do that.
But I do think the Rams with this game, 35 32 game winning field goal by Greg Zuerlein I think it's going to be, you know, another rate game at the Coliseum on Monday Night Football.
Not quite the 54 51 performance of last year.
First the Kansas City Chiefs, which I think everyone enjoyed.
But I do think it's going to be, ah, you know, a fun game to watch.
And one of the better Monday night football games is they've had a lot of duds.
Um, so that's how I see it.
Um, hope you guys enjoyed, and ah, I'm gonna be doing this every single day.
So, you know, I appreciate you guys, you know, listening in, Um, you know, again, this is new, but I'm I just want to do it every single day and and we don't have to just talk about the Rams game, if you know when I'm on tomorrow.
Since now that I've talked about the Rams game, this will be the Rams.
You know, this will be the Rams game livestreamed ideo.
But then tomorrow I might talk more NFL.
Also talking daily fantasy and just any fantasy will do.
Start him. Sit up. We'll just stuff like that.
Just just try and engage with you guys.
What's up, Roy? How's it going? Um, but, you know, just trying to engage just trying to ah, you know, reach out.
And I appreciate you guys so much for wanting to listen to me.
Talk about football for 30 minutes or so.
So I appreciate you guys so much again, this is gonna be a consistent thing.
