back with you Rough night for Colt fans.
I want to talk to you guys about that game and then give my game of the week and it's honestly, it's just disappointing because we were hurt.
But that's no excuse.
We didn't get really any calls, but But I thought the refs were really good.
It has a hole, and to you, I made some big drops.
I think what happened was we couldn't stretch the field.
We didn't make the big plays when we needed them and used to make big plays.
I mean, it is what it is.
We were in Houston, so I mean, it's not a catastrophe.
We didn't play a bad game and I mean, a lot of people given percent he because he didn't make those big throws downfield.
But I get it the our conservative offense.
But I blame Freak right more because there were certain situations where you clearly needed to throw the ball a little more or make.
The past is more than intermediate routes and I just felt like Frank Wright didn't do that percent.
I has to be a little better, but he was doing all he could win the pocket collapsed.
He was getting out of there and trying to make plays.
Almost got that big first down at the end of the game.
And I mean, I know what hindsight right? Shouldn't use that last time out and when Florida all four town.
But, I mean, we haven't trusted dignitary all season, and I just don't I don't know.
I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
I thought it was the right call because if we school there, we take the ball away from Houston and we could have scored and they don't get the ball back.
And I think that's exactly what he wanted because he knew if they got the ball back, we probably aren't getting it back anyway.
So I won't get Frank Reich too much flak for that at the end of the game.
I mean, he coached a pretty good game.
I thought we ran it a little too much little true conservatives.
But again, I mean, that's kind of been the M o all season.
We are we are in a throwing team or a Russian team missing.
Mac, we haven't had we just had to you right.
You didn't play all the snaps, but he didn't look good when he was out there, so I understand that.
But this team needs weapons that his team really needs weapons and and I still think we can make a second wild card spot.
But it's tough because we've lost Tou Pittsburgh, who could get that spot and Oakland who could get that spot.
So that's really, really tough.
And I think we really lost the games that in hindsight, we shouldn't have lost.
But we did because we wanted our best and and that just is what it is.
We have the most cap space in the NFL tons of picks next season, and I did that.
The future is nothing but up.
I hate when people like old percent might not be there.
I mean, I want that guy there.
I mean, this is his first year in the offenses.
He's been great.
He hasn't made too many mistakes.
She has no weapons.
Everyone's heard around.
He's come back from an injury that they said he was gonna help him out to three weeks.
He was only out one.
I mean, the guy's been a consummate professional, and he's been as good as you could be on short notice, common in the beginning of the season, thinking you're gonna be the backup and, yeah, I mean, I can't blame it on percent.
I blame it on a little on right, And I do think our defense just gave up too many big plays.
I mean, Malik Hooker was nowhere to be found on that touchdown.
Brought no help to the corners, and I cornered just aren't that good.
But let's just face it.
D line is okay, and I corners are not good.
That just is what it is.
And I know we drafted Rockets in.
He has a great know as you've been healthy.
Had all right season, but I'll sign about linebackers and Ed Rush is I really haven't seen anything great this season from that defense.
Um, but we've been good.
We've been somewhat consistent of being inconsistent.
I feel his there were games were get Randall over and their games were We didn't let up, and we barely last night outside of a couple of big runs, Carlos Hyde went nowhere.
The Shawn Watson didn't really run on us outside the pocket.
We corralled him pretty well, but we just couldn't get pressure.
He had too much time on big throws, and we don't have the secondary to allow him that time.
The past has to get in there, and I think that's all right to notice.
Hey, we don't blitz a lot, but this game we have to blitz because we're not getting it.
Is protections holding up virtual full man rush, and that's just been adjustment.
He has to make man, um, again, still a great coach.
I love this senior.
I still think we're gonna finish around nine and 7 10 and six.
Hopefully, um, I know it's Rothko.
We've lost some tough games and and we've been competitive all season, and I and Shopping's I.
We've had a good schedule.
We haven't played any bad games.
Outside of the Oakland game in Miami, those were really ugly, but for the wrong reasons.
Um, yeah, nothing but up.
I I think that we could hold our heads high after that loss just because it went into Houston banged up and we still almost wanted I am upset.
I am upset to hell that they did not review that fumble call at the end of the game because that was a fumble.
Not that they would have overturned it, but just the fact they review everything.
They review plays that have absolutely no business being reviewed, whether a guy, um, got his toes in, but it's clear or if he had controlled the ball and control is clear.
But this you don't you don't replay.
We have no time outs left, and it would have put us on the 50 with a full 45 seconds left, and you don't want to review that review everything in two minutes.
That's released what I thought, but all of a sudden, when it's cold first Houston it doesn't happen.
If that was pats for the Rams with other packages of the Saints, that absolutely 1 million% gets reviewed.
I don't know if it gets overturned, but they at least take a look at and say, Hey, that ball came out.
Let's see if we could, you know what I mean? Indefinitely will return it.
If we can't no beef.
I have no beef with it.
If they look at it to hate is not enough evidence we can't see who comes up with the ball, and that's just it.
But look clear to me that the ball came out and the Darius landed may have had possession and I just think that it's Aston.
I need to think that they're knocking it.
They're not gonna look at that.
I mean, it's just ignorant.
Honestly, again, I feel like it was the end of the game.
They thought it was over and they didn't want to look at it.
They thought, You know what? There's no way this team coming back in, his game's over, They have no time out.
Why bother? We got it right when indeed they could have gone to write.
But the fact that they didn't even take a look at it, you didn't even second guess say, Hey, wait a minute, it's two minutes.
This might be worth it.
We usually review everything.
That's the rule.
Even the announcers were baffled and I don't like Troy, but I didn't think he made and he's not.
He's not a great commentator at all.
I really can't stand him.
But he even said he was like, I have no idea why why they're not reviewing this.
It just seems like every other team at the end of games.
Their review calls.
Even if it's a blow up, they still review things.
I mean, seriously, I've seen games of the Patriots were blown out teams and and the team might have made a miraculous catch, but it almost was a fumble.
But they will review it just in case just because it's fair.
And that's the rule.
But Nope, not backing.
And that really grinds my gears, honestly, because it's the same thing that happened to the Celtics the other night.
You review a play or they could have reviewed a play for the Celtics and they didn't on.
I feel like if it was a stock driven team like the Warriors will like.
The lake is old. The Clippers.
They would have reviewed it, but again, I just think they didn't give us any transit that I can't blame the refs.
I blame, um corners because we did not.
We did not cover big plays well, and I blame Frank, right? Just me being too conservative again.
I like that. He went for it on fourth.
I get it, I get it yet That is what you do.
You go for it on fourth.
But you're a running football team.
That is all fine and well.
But there were multiple plays on Big were they knew we were running the football with me.
He finds in there and, you know, Nick United not had a great game.
He had a couple off 5 to 7 yachts touches, but he hadn't had anything crazy.
And you can He gets stopped up by by a wall twice.
You know what I mean? That can't happen if you run it once.
Little short, quick.
They're all maybe per seconds out of the pocket, gets a couple yards, Then you're in way more third and short situations.
Unlike the last plate.
The last play for us was 1/4 down, and that third down was the biggest third down.
It had all game.
I mean, it was because I think it was 7 10 yards, and before that, everything was 3 to 4 yards.
So I just think you have to pass it more in passing more consistently, especially in a game where I get the run is working.
But if you don't do enough play action and you don't have enough of a past threat.
They were just They just knew we were gonna run the football.
I mean, many minds couldn't do anything at the end of that game when Williams was out.
And when Williams got in at the end, it ended up being 34 yard carries.
He wasn't busting off like he was in the beginning of the game.
Um, I just thought that it could have been better and I want to see more from this team.
We're no way done.
I just think that we have to improve in the draft free agency.
I think we have to spend a little bit shine.
Everybody who got percent side give Darius landed a contract.
I think I hopefully coca signing up again as long as he signed.
I mean, I think we have a good call.
The young linebackers Bannock Ooh, and oh, crikey! Look, very good that came, but yeah, No, I just think we have to do a better job overall, improve the secondary and just be more consistent.
And that's all that really comes down to.
But my takes with a week I get to do this last week because I was having some technical issues.
Um, but number one Falcons minus three and 1/2 home verse.
Tampa Bay Falcons are hot, absolutely on fire division games, so it's gonna be close.
But I think maybe a touchdown close, not knock. Three points.
Matt Ryan looks good, their offense looks great and that defense is coming around and Dan Quinn is playing for his drop coaching for his job.
He knows that this season, in the end of it, is going to define how he goes about next season.
If he has a job or if he doesn't, and I think it's gonna prove to people go into next year, maybe if they win 45 t and and this season, people like, Wow, the Falcons got hot and it could continue into next season. Aker Just building.
And maybe they figured things out. Julio. Speech.
Maybe got them riled up.
Maybe Matt Ryan get hurt and coming back.
I don't know what it was, but something flipped there. I just don't see.
Tampa Bay is that threat.
It will be high scoring, but I don't think that D friends can keep up with Atlanta's There's mighty six and 1/2 1st the Giants say Quan look terrible versus the Jets.
Why wouldn't the Bears be any different? The pass defense isn't as good as they run defense.
But if you can contain the run, you fool standard Jones to throw against that very good pass defense, especially on the road in the Windies in a windy city.
And Daniel's on his arms.
And great, despite what they tell you he's got a good on.
It's not that crazy.
I mean, that's why people didn't expect him to go that high in the draft because he he doesn't have a cannon.
I mean, he's not super precise, and I think that will hurt verse the Beds and I think they went by a touchdown, and I know that travesty has been great.
But I do think because the Giants linebacker aren't good, they struggle would call it out of the backfield in a struggle trying to cover Taylor Gay Berlin this lot and that could be a almost a blow up.
But I think it'll be seven points just because I think there will be a point where the Bears go dry on offense, but not the entire game.
Pats minus six and 1/2 verse Gallus at home, coming off a win where they weren't happy with themselves with a ton of penalty.
So I expect to be super disciplined playing the second NFC East team in a row, and it's at home in the late Vander Ash.
That's huge, James.
Why is gonna have a huge game? I think they're gonna really struggle to cover guys in the slot like they have all season, and it's just gonna be really tough for them when the path running backs of Birkhead White.
So when you get out of the backfield, I don't think they're gonna be quick enough to cover him.
And I do think that the van arrested here, it's a different story.
I think this game is very close that way.
If he plays and they have
