live on the sports caster platform.
I want to go ahead and touch base here in a 7 to 3 game colts taking on the Houston Texans.
Two teams that air certainly vying for playoff positioning, both six and four coming in this one.
This can be a maker bait break game for either one of these teams, depending on how the rest of their schedules play out.
And as we watch gashing up the middle on the first play from scrimmage following that touchdown, Houston trying to get themselves into position here to maybe get the lead quickly before we wrap up the first half.
I want to come in and just take a look on a couple of players.
Basically, it's two things.
One taking a look at the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts and China identify any players that the Giants may potentially look to targeted free agency.
And then the other side of it is, of course, that the Giants, to win eight, are probably not trending in the direction of being happy playoff team this year.
But when this season starts to wrap up in six weeks for the Giants were gonna start to transition into some playoff coverage and these two teams being a couple of them that could certainly be looking to go in that direction.
I wanted to give just a couple of takes on them as we look at this halftime score line and see what we can go from here.
If you are a betting man before I get into a couple of free agents, Uh, if you're over there on my bookie, got a G who's a sponsor? Certainly for us over on the one giant podcast, you could have gotten some ice odds here.
Houston was favored in this one, giving a few points, which, basically based on the home in away games, basically says and even line here for these two teams.
But we're looking to parlay action.
I threw a couple of dollars down on the Indianapolis Colts money line along with them, giving two and 1/2 on the final score in this one combined that with in any time touchdown for Eric E.
Brown in this one, it certainly makes for a little bit more interesting game when you are ah, fan of maybe the Giants and just looking to watch some Thursday night action.
So certainly this has played out maybe a kind of the direction.
You would think.
It's been a bit of a struggle here for both offenses, obviously, Colts finally able to get themselves into business here. Last drive.
We saw Watson throw that interception.
Here he comes, **** back on a on 1/3 and six converting.
They're able to find his target.
And you just have to wonder if a team that is certainly struggled and kind of rises and falls in some of their games in and around what Watson is able to do and not like any team in the NFL.
Your quarterback is gonna drive that play for them.
Certainly the Colts did have the win the last time these two teams matched up 30 to 23 back in Week seven.
So you expect him to play close, and the home advantage obviously can play.
A factor in this is Well, I'll try to dive in here on just some of the prospects that the Giants may take a look at off of the Houston Texans as the Colts wrapping up behind the line.
They're on first down for a three yard loss be second and, uh, 13 here, and it looks like we're getting to the two minute warning as well.
So an opportunity talk about some of the players that we're seeing here specifically for the New York football Giants.
When you're talking about potential roster spots will go ahead and take a look first the tackle position on the Houston Texans since they are on the offensive side of the ball on Lee.
A couple of players come to mind here, and that's obviously going to be a Chris Clark 34 year old veteran will be an unrestricted free agent, and then you also have the youngster and Roderick Johnson.
But I wouldn't expect that to necessarily be the case.
Ah, 34 year old player is never Ah, great option.
If you're if you're trying to secure yourself an offensive tackle, we take that quick look.
There is well, though, and see Clark is not rated out particularly well at all.
And then, obviously they have learned Tunsil available for them coming over in that trade from the Dolphin.
So you expect that Clark's gonna go out into the free agency wire at 34.
The poor performance not gonna be.
Some of the Giants are necessarily in on.
We can take that peak as well, though.
Ah, Roderick Johnson, who has seen a little bit playing time, has gotten to 200 offensive snaps so far this year.
So obviously is filled in here and there.
Was played to a 62.
5 pro football focus rating, took one penalty and gave up one sack of those 200 snaps at 24 years old.
I mean, you know there's potential here.
This probably goes across the board for the Giants in terms of players that they may look out when it comes in the off season.
Uh, you know, young enough player that you could bring him in and certainly haven't compete for a backup role and see what you have in a young player like that.
As you know, a 24 years old, he has 10 solid years for an offensive line of potentially in front of a on and something worth noting.
The Giants are also probably gonna try toe turnover and bringing competition even for those backup roles and swing tackle position.
Certainly So, uh, I'm not gonna speak too highly to this guy, buddy, you listen.
You have a sample size of snaps has really shown that he may be a potential to plug in there and certainly give you depth across your line when you're going to maybe move on from a guy like Eric Smith, who has seen some action there with the injuries than the Giants would not say have been too impressed by what they have had.
Go on touching down in deeper to the Houston line up here.
And some of the players that we may want to take a look at talked about the tackles, you know, moving probably onto the defensive side of the ball here in a minute.
No one available and other positions all across the line would probably take a look at something like the center position there.
We could take a look at the defensive line as well.
You don't know who is gonna maybe move on from here.
Houston has a few players, their offensive tackle scheme done, Heath and redder will all be up after this year.
All they're going to be unrestricted free agents.
Dunn's a guy has appeared in 10 games only have 10 tackles, one Q B hits and not her.
For me, necessarily any opportunity performing a high level some packages but, you know, deejay redder.
He is 26 years old, is played in 10 games, 32 tackles, three sacks and four Q B hits.
In this one, we hop over Excuse me to the pro football focus to take a look and see how he maybe stacks up in terms of his rating pulling it up here.
He rates out at 89.5.
You take that all day long as watching looks deep to it.
Completely uncover it coming back to the two men and Warden that's gonna be hawking securing the bag on that one.
I don't know how.
If you are the Indianapolis Colts, you allow Kylie Hopkins to run that wide open.
I cannot believe that that was the case.
The Colts will give up a quick score.
They're just out of the two minute warning and the Houston Texans get themselves back in front 10 to 7 with still 1 53 to go here.
So, obviously an opportunity for the Colts to make some noise of their own.
On the offensive end of the two minute drill, we'll see what happens.
Hopkins, which is a straight go round the drop off into a bit of a zone look, but nobody picks him up on the back end.
And the culture left kind of looking around at one another as the extra point is up and through 10 7 uh, Houston Texans leading over the Colts.
So we're touching on a guy like D.
J redder who has had a nice years.
He mentioned 23 solo tackles, eight assists, three sacks on the year, no forced fumbles to report at this point, but it certainly played at a high level.
You know art of the Giants in a position where a 63 347 pounder do you want to pin him in there along that line with along with Dexter Lawrence? You know, you brought in Williams.
We talked about the fluidity about Dalvin Tomlinson.
Maybe you want to shift him off in this offseason, recoup some of the assets you sent away to the Jets to get Leonard in the door on, then a guy like VJ handle on Macintosh know where did these guys stack up? And how did the Giants feel about them looking into their future? Obviously, to bring in a stud like this would certainly be a huge coup and immediately make an impact across this front.
The question is always with these players, unrestricted or not.
How will the current team look to utilize them in the off season? How it looked to attack the potential of a player like this? Departing S Oh, that's on obvious.
Be a big get for the Giants if they were looking to make a splash across the defensive front, and we'll see him getting into some action here, as the Houston Texans kick off with, As I said, a minute, 53 to go here in the first half, and additionally, we could take a look at some others.
A couple other players here on the Houston side of things.
Let's go over to the second Dairy for them and see if there's anybody that the Giants want to keep an eye on.
They have a handful of guys from Bradley Roby.
You also have Jonathan Joseph, though obviously a 36 year veteran, not looking to bring him in as there is unity in injury time.
Out on that kickoff.
Looks like a linebacker down for the Houston Texans will step away from the kick off before getting into this last bit action for the Indianapolis Colts heading in the halftime.
Ah, they also have Mike Adams, a free safety again older veteran player.
I don't think John's got of interest there.
Ah, you know, you have a day at 30 years old, It's strong safety again.
I'm not necessarily gonna be too high on him.
Not a lot of options here in the second daring in Row B A 28 maybe looking to bring some stability.
And then Philip gains as well.
But no one that is really gonna blow your top off here.
So I'm not gonna dive into how they look over on pro football.
Focus of the Giants are gonna make a big splash, especially in the secondary.
I mean, it's gonna bring in a veteran of the safety position, you know, 28 29 year old veteran.
But by and large, I would assume that you're going to see them.
You know, if we're gonna sign somebody, someone coming off the rookie deal that, for whatever reason, is getting out.
You know, from the franchise that currently has them, and they're gonna look to bring in a guy that's a plug and play on the other side of whether it's Baker Sam Beale.
I do expect, you know, where's Jenkins to be gone.
So, you know, in that scenario, you have to be coming in for a study guide is entering his prime.
It is going to get you 34 high quality years and ahead of them.
I don't think the Giants are really in a position to bring in some of the cornerback position, specifically, who's going to be just a Band Aid? A one or two year Band Aid? Um, we can flip over now.
We might as well flip over to the defense of side of the ball for the Indianapolis Colts and focus in there and see what they have going for them.
What are the offensive side of the ball? While they looked to go here, what's going on their offensive line? We talked about, you know, the tackle position over there for Houston.
Not a lot to show for unnecessarily.
Ah, do you have unrestricted free agents across the board, 32 year old Castonzo and left tackle.
Then you have Clark there, right tackle 27 years old, 29 year old Josh Andrews and then Joe Hagan, 27 of the Guard.
So a couple of guards and then two tackles.
We touch over there, you know.
It's Castonzo, a guy.
I don't think that's the reach that the Giants want to make unnecessarily trying to bring in another veteran tackle.
We've seen them do that past year, and it has not been impressive of a results from Nate Soldier and a year to for the for the New York football Giants.
We take a quick look just to let you know where Castonzo at this age has created out 82.
1 of pro football focus, giving you 700 saps just one penalty and three sacks allowed here on this season.
So, I mean, would he be a guy that you would put a Band Aid on the line? Certainly, I would assume that the Colts would look to bring him back.
I don't know what the situation is in terms of backups behind him as per cent will swing one out on a while on a running back screen there on the outside for a quick eight.
Y Hilton there on a wide receiver screen, giving them quick eight and second down as the cultural hustle up the line.
Here have all three other timeout, so plenty of time to work with here.
With a minute 30 to go, we'll die back in a couple of the prospects here.
Once you touch it on half time, Go over the stat lines Here is well, as percent drops back, coming around the edge.
Nice job by the offensive line there to protect him as Hilton will make the catch for a first down.
Looks a little bit tweaked their, though he's gonna hustle back into the play.
Don't know if he loved the way he was hit after that reception.
To go hear Colt's hustling up. They have the ball here at their own 37.
With an opportunity to certainly go down.
At least tie this one up.
Have to just be patient.
Timeouts and time on the clock out of the backfield.
Unfortunately, drops bobbles and drops that past opportunity could have been easy.
9 10 yard pick up there and then you're looking at probably calling that first time out with 57 seconds on the clock.
Instead, just, unfortunately, looked up.
Pick his head up just a little bit.
They always say, Heinz, they're just give picks, head up a little bit too quickly, trying to see what those defenders are.
See if he can make a play and get some extra yards instead of securing that ball in there and giving yourself positive.
You have been up over the 40 there now still hang out the 37th on a second and 10.
They can use the entire field, all three timeouts, nothing but options for Jacoby percent and the offense dropping back.
Solid protection gets it out wide to Eric Ebron on the perimeter doesn't There's a little bit of a fake shoulder shutter there, and he gets a nisi pick up there after midfield with 47 seconds.
The Coulter will call their first time out here, allow themselves to regroup on the offense, figure out what they want to do, how they want to attack this team.
They looked too, potentially with 47 seconds.
You still can take some opportunities here and maybe get a look at getting the outright lead going into halftime.
But more than likely, just make sure you get yourself in that solid field goal position first and then worry about those opportunities.
Act as the vegetarian five Ah missed field goals this year and six extra points missed this year.
So military, obviously the the veteran of the league, has had a couple of issues.
When it comes to locking up these opportunities again, the closer you can get him in, the more you can make it feel like it's a chip shot, as opposed to something a little bit harder than that, although at the same time you have to realize with six missed extra points, he's even had issues from in close.
So if you're the Coats, maybe with these two timeouts and 48 seconds to go, you may look to try to get some action here and see if you can just get that touchdown.
Take a lead outright 135 151 overall yards, 116 passing yards for Houston in the Russian game for the Indianapolis Colts, already 70 on the grounds of the 35 coats to the seconds Rather.
So it had some success there on the ground here in the first half.
And with enough time on the clock and time outs, you can utilize that pretty quick, shrinking pocket there.
Percent has to get away quickly, looking for held in, going out of bounds around the 15 off the mark as per seculars down, taking a bit of a hurry there and just had to get rid of that one as I just freshen the old pal.
It there with my three brothers coffee on yourself in Tennessee.
Feel free to stop by two time outs.
You're second in 10 44 seconds ago.
Again, you have the entire field.
15 dropbacks here for Jacoby percent with a sack and four knockdowns taken so far in the game.
So Houston has been getting some pressure on him.
But if you get the ball out quickly, you can expose the secondary for the Texans out of the shotgun.
Percent drops back, has time, gets it over the middle again.
The Heinz Heinz bobble the ball again, but is able to lease pull it down 37 seconds and running.
Here they will use that second time out.
Let themselves get organized for 1/3.
And about four, it looks like have the whole field to use.
But again, you're really not that range that you want to be at just yet.
Where you feel like you have that field goal locked up here.
This pass those that go back and highlight the blown coverage here, both the safety, both safeties and the cornerbacks just kind of bite down.
Nobody comes over from the far side of the field.
Obviously, is the blown coverage there? We'll see what the Colts look to come out and do here.
Want to get a check just on where they are on the field position right now and see.
But there's an opportunity for them to play it safe at all.
They're just barely across.
It looks like midfield here at the 44 rate now.
So you got to get this year.
You got to get this first down here.
You're not gonna kick a field goal even from the Ford. You're not gonna Bennett.
Terry, go and try that once.
You might as well use the entire field.
Use a time out if you have to.
And they were couple out routes here, but on third and five.
Need to go first at converting for the first down percent.
Hangs in there, takes a hit and just barely scooped up.
It looks like they're gonna call that a catch there.
Man percent hangs in the pocket.
Takes that hit in the mouth.
Eric Ebron gets down on the ground, grabs that boulder hustle.
Look to spike it here, as they do will be at the 30 yard line here, so they are within reason.
So his walkabout wobbling Ebron gets down.
Nice job by him.
He gets his hands underneath that ball, secures it there as a linebacker coming through.
Catches the hand on the way through.
But still nice job by Jacoby were such is hanging in the pocket.
Taken one on the chin and then you brought again.
And Justin that ball in flight, locking it up, if you will.
If you joined us early, I am working.
That parlay is Iran steps out for a break here.
He's doing the wrong thing.
Needed to be ready, healthy in the game here. I got him.
Uh, he needs to score in this one to work out My three play a saint.
Gay, Partly Now from the 30 with 20 seconds on the clock and a time out to work with can use the whole field here. A few percent.
They're gonna take the shots of the outside, dropping it off the Jake Doyle.
Jake Doyle gets the first down, but stays inbounds clock running.
And from that, I don't think there's a hustle to the line here.
But those have to use this time out.
Look, tow line of planetary.
They're going to be at the 18 yard line, so they let this thing run down here, get it down to two seconds. One second.
They're saying that the clock right now, but obviously they have used a time out there to get Ben Terry set up to have an opportunity to kick this field.
We'll still see where they call it that time out.
And with that, the Colts can tie this thing up at 10. Going 1/2 time.
Look to see that any gamesmanship from the Houston Texans Will they use one of the two time outs to try to throw off Unitary, who as we just highlighted, missed five field goals and six extra points so far on the season.
Very un Adam of him.
But you know, you feel like a veteran.
At the very least.
Unlike some younger quarterbacks we've seen around the league, he's a guy who's still gonna go up there and kick with confidence every single time.
The question is, has his leg just ultimately left him? Does he not have we used to anymore? So listen to get him inside the 20 here, two seconds on the clock.
That's when they utilize their time out and we'll see if there is that 36 year attempt coming.
If Houston looks to use one of the time outs and throw a planetary from the right hash, no time out called clean snap, Planetary straight on through five minute Miss Field goals.
Be darned as well.
Not that one through, well, heads a halftime with a 10 10 bowl game at our hands, and the first thing we'll do before we die back in a couple of these looks.
I'll also just go ahead and pull up these halftime stats.
Give you a little bit of a report on what we've seen from the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts here.
Probably what you expected when you're talking about a team in the Colts were both, you know, six and four and six and four playing for the hoping for the playoffs here.
And obviously there's a huge game.
One team falling to six and five.
Team going seven and four has to really improve your outlook.
You look ahead to the rest of your remaining schedule following this game.
We'll dive in here on this you Houston match up and see where we stand.
So overall on the box scores as we dive in the numbers, I apologize.
That pulled up some of the information here.
****o present finished out there strong for himself, going 13 of 18 in the 1st 540 yards has taken one sack on the day and comes through with an 86 rating.
So far overall, Jonathan Williams has been leading the backfield with 13 carries for 33 yards, a 2.
5 average, certainly nothing to write home about.
Heinz has gotten just a couple of touches, but taking on 24 yards, along with a quote percent scrambling for 13 and getting that touchdown on the previous drive, which gave the Colts Aaaah! Brief lead there from the receiving standpoint, Eric Ebron, a little bit more active.
We know a couple of weeks ago went to head coach.
Said he wanted to be more involved in so far, so good.
Three catches for 31 yards.
Had that big pick up there with Jacoby percent taking a hit on the chin.
Still managed to bail it out, and that helps convert the field goal drive and knock this thing up here.
A 10 going 1/2 time Jake Doyle.
Also add another catch there that led to the 18 yard line timeout called before the field.
Go two for 21 in this game and then T Y Hilton three for 18 As you can see, seems like as they were indicating in the game, maybe on a bit of a quote unquote pitch camp.
Still wanna monitor him, make sure he doesn't tweak any more of those injuries.
He's already had some of those concerns early in the season, midway point in the season now, so percent spring the roll around.
Williams and Heinz also had a couple catches out of the backfield.
So you know that makes was it 367 total receivers catching passes out of the back, catching out the field here for percent have to like they're spreading the ball around right on the other side of things.
We take a look at the Shawn Watson going 10 to 1516 yards, one up, one down.
Had that turned over The lead to the touchdown for the Indianapolis Colts is certainly want to see him clean up those turnovers, but 7.
7 per completion so far.
Duke Johnson, Carlos Hyde and Watson contributing Watson on a scramble but didn't get anywhere with it.
Carlos Hyde was six carries just 15 yards and Duke Johnson and limited half those carries three but giving you 20 in a 6.
7 clip on a 19 yard long run there as well.
So ah, balance, certainly, but 35 yards rushing on 10 total carries.
Not necessarily Ah, blazing a trail there with 70 yards relative for the Colts.
They've got a nice job moving the ball on the ground within the passing game.
The long 35 yard reception for DeAndre Hopkins certainly makes that line of three catches 41 yards and a touchdown look nice.
But prior to that, he had just to catch his 46 yards.
So you know the colt had done a nice job.
We just have a defensive miscue there that allows him to go wide open over the top Will Fuller has contributed three for 27 along with Tight and Daniel Fells with that 1 24 yard reception.
A nice big play on that particular drive and then a con's with two catches for 18 as well, so once again spreading the ball around pretty well offensively.
And that's kind of what you expect from both these units, although, you know, with you, I help being injured.
I think you've seen the Colts work through those tight ends a little bit more often, so that's bearing out.
And then, of course, the Army Hopkins being the number one here.
It's just a matter of can you work on clean and free.
We've seen a lot of spy work from the Colts on the defense's side of the bowl, leaving a linebacker there, making sure that Hopkins doesn't get out of the out into space too quickly and just run him off the idea of scrambling and tried to get the throat.
Throw that ball away and see if you can convert on those.
And so far, so good for both quarterbacks.
Ah, a in 84 rating there for Shawn Watson, this one again, completing 66% of his passes.
So both quarterbacks having some success in the first half, you know, 116 104 yards is not gonna kill you.
Neither team scored in the first quarter, either in this one, but that both up a 10 in the second half talk about defensive side of the ball.
Ah, Anthony Walker, leading with seven total tackles, has gone four solo and gotten involved in a couple of assists.
They're, you know, not a lot of things to talk about here.
A couple of pass deflections for the Colts is certainly staying active there in the lanes, getting those balls swatted away when the opportunity arose on Lee. The one Q B hit.
So buying large, especially when you play against mobile quarterbacks, just tryingto work and contain them.
It's certainly just as important as getting to them and bringing them down.
Sometimes on those scrambles when you think you have a better grasp, that's when they break containment and are able to really make headway with a couple of Russian yards.
Go see Baltimore and ah, more Jackson right now on the other side for the Houston Texans.
They have three Q B hits in this once.
They've been getting a little bit of pressure around their three tackles for loss, one sack so far of 41 total tackles, some guys doing some nice individual work, and Zach Cunningham and today with eight and seven total tackles, respectively, six and four solo.
So a lot of good work there from the linebacking corps.
You know, they had to do a bit more work as well.
Right? 41 total tackles to 26 for the Colts certainly has been, Ah, little bit uneven in terms of the time of possession and what we were expecting to see from that regard.
Beyond that, couple of fuel girls have gone through, and that's been nice.
Outside of that, nothing really to report home about.
I think you can expect more of the same.
The second half of this one member talked about to start when we joined in here late in the game, heading towards that two minute warning, the Moneyline says, You know the give and take here.
You can expect about a three points either way, when you're talking about a homer away.
So, uh, Houston Texans rate now get that benefit of the doubt being at home.
So I expect this game to be about even money.
The other thing that I will take a quick look at two here is well, we'll just be the standings overall in the A f. C.
And ah, what it means for either one of these teams as we look around and where a loss can end up hurting you.
Were you to fall here six and four for both of these teams, we talked about that.
You find yourself as I try to get this up here on the radar.
We'll see if we can get it pulled up, having unfortunately, a bit of a snafu here on the Internet.
Isn't that always the way right when you need it? We'll come back into that in a second here.
Before we do that, we will again take a look.
Just a couple of these players that we were touching on some players that are free agent targets, potentially for the Giants.
If you're joining the one giant podcast here on SportsCastr, that's something that we want to be highlighting as we move through this game a little bit and certainly as we take a look here.
So we have been touching on the offensive line.
Therefore the Indianapolis Colts.
We mentioned Castonzo.
I don't know if you would see him re sign here with the colt or if the Giants would be interested in a 32 going to be 33 year old veteran at that point.
Then we also we're taking a look at a guy.
They have Clark, Andrews and Haig up there as well.
Don't believe me.
Take a look at Clark just to see what, if anything, ratings we can see from him over the course of this season.
So he has not gotten into any game that I was hoping for was a small sample size.
So right now is a player who's in that backup role in sometimes, as we were mentioning earlier.
You see, you got it gets 200 snaps.
You can gleam a little.
Something from that Giants can look at.
You know Gates at the right tackle position and see if he gets a more character.
More run here at the offensive line position.
You get him a couple 100 touches or snaps played over the course of this season, then you can kind of no.
Is he going to be a nice swing tackle that can back up? Whoever you want to bring in to replace Nate soldiers certainly is a possible for him to plug in at right tackle.
And you can move on from rumors and just get younger, that position and be a like for like, at least play to the same level and hopefully a little bit better.
That would be acceptable as well.
So you know either of those options would certainly work.
But for the most part, we're talking about the offensive line.
That's when you can expect there from the Colts, moving on from them.
There will go over the defensive side of the ball here and just take a look.
If there's anybody that the Giants may have an interest in.
We'll start with that linebacking corps and then move into the secondary.
Ah, and as they have nobody across the board there, so no open linebackers going to the free agency period secondary for the Colts.
They have some veterans there that I don't think you're gonna be too much of an interest to the Giants.
Um, but you have some young talent that is going to be available from a free agent perspective, so we highlight Clayton.
Gaither's is going to be an unrestricted free agent at 28 years old.
Free safety has played in nine games.
38 tackles of one I nt on the season will go ahead and start by pulling up his pro football focus and take a look.
A couple of the younger players that probably haven't gotten to me snaps there on this team, but it doesn't mean that you still can't take a look at them and potentially gleaned something that they have gone.
Some amount of reps so rated as a 62.
7 so far, with 28 solo tackles, one interception, seven targets, seven receptions allowed, small sample size, they're certainly ah, you know for 26 years old.
Is this someone you could center? Maybe, Maybe not.
But the curious thing, too, is when you talk about the Giants.
They have a lot of players that are also guys have been on this roster.
Special teamers like Michael Thomas.
You certainly like him.
He's a veteran presence, but at some point you need to get younger, right.
At some point, you need to see if you can get a body in the door that can maybe also contribute on this field on defense, inside the ball.
And not just in special teams, though.
You know, by and large, I'm not gonna look at Gators and really get too excited about that.
They're on the other couple of guys that we see again.
Another couple safeties in Ah Milligan and Ah Nee Kiss and then also Taylor at the cornerback position.
So we'll see if we if we take a look at any of these players here and if they offer anything thing in terms of a potential fit for the Giants, and then we'll dive back into just look at the overall schedule for both these teams and where they can look to go down the stretch of the year.
So the first guy will just take a quick peek at Is Milligan here? And he reached out in limited action, though Ah, 71.
1 in pro football, Focus has two targets on him is allowed to receptions on it.
Not allowed to say you're right for solo tackles.
So live it in action for a guy like this again, though, you know, when you if you were there when we highlighted some of the cornerback position for the Giants, were gonna go deeper, dive onto them in the pro football regard and how they greeted out.
But we're gonna have a lot of spots to fill their.
So going into the sum of the second level players some backup rules.
These are the kind of players that you're going to be able to certainly bring in on reasonable contracts, maybe haven't come into training camp, see if they beat out some of the guys you have existing on the roster.
And all that means is, you know, a rising tide raises all boats, so better players behind the starters for your team means that you're having better competition in practice.
It means that should you face an injury, you can actually get rotated.
So certainly you want to look at all the options you have available to you.
And then the last guy was Taylor will take a quick peek at him before we move over to how each of these teams can play out the rest of their season and what those expectations might be.
So the guy back in here, this roster real quick, take a look at Taylor and see what we get on him.
Hasn't looked pretty in limited action.
9 pro football rating.
Ah, just six tackles, six targets and four receptions allowed on the season for him.
So, again, these younger players, I mean, I even younger these guys, they're 25 26 years old.
But this is the you know, something that you can do if you're a Giants fan, especially on a Thursday night game on Monday night matchup, go ahead and take a look at what the options are on any of these teams.
Do you see a player that you want to see the Giants go after, and then that's something you can look at especially when it's a F.
Sometimes you get the different games on Sunday matchups as well.
Sunday Night Football.
Go ahead and watch a little bit tape on him, see if you like him.
And then you kind of get a sense about if the Giants air talked about targeting some of these guys, What are the expectations were there to come in where they is? It, you know, for special teams step.
Are you talking about trying to compete for a starting role in the Giants roster? But by and large in this one, there's not necessarily a ton of big options here.
When we talk about, you know, talk about players, you may want to look at our target, even the name like of, Ah, Mingo that I think, remember going back a few years and free agency felt maybe the Giants and want to take a look at him at that point hasn't raided out so well this year has gotten obviously a little bit older, pushing towards 30.
So, you know, sometimes it's the name recognition that you look at, and then when you're really dive into the numbers, you realize they're not the same player they were were the ones you have in your mind taking a look here as we will gear up for the second half of action currently in the A F.
So first we go right into the division, Right? South has the cotillion six and four with the Houston Texans right behind them.
But just backing them up in the third position is the five and five Tennessee Titans.
So this is certainly a tight division.
Obviously, you know you're playing for the outright lead here, but then the other side of it is as we look around the A f C.
Overall, you've got, you know, the New England Patriots leading their division, but seven and three Buffalo Bills Right now, nobody else is really a concern in that division.
Talk about Baltimore to eat in two, and then you have Pittsburgh Steelers at five and 54 and six Browns go down into the West Kansas City at 746 and four Oakland Raiders and then no one to worry about in the charge of the rounds of the Broncos.
Rather so But what you're seeing there, that is right.
Six and four readers, they're in.
They're in a position right now for one of those wild card spots, the right there with it, along with the Houston Texans or the cold, depending on what happens.
But let's say the courts lose as the Houston Texans come to the line here to start from the 25.
Following a touchback on the kickoff, Watson keeps it on a fake handoff.
Has some time nice protection, scrambles out to the left flick of the wrist, and they're gonna have a flag here in the secondary area.
So probably going to be a hold in spite of the catch by Hopkins there, we'll see what the flag comes down with.
Um, so you know, let's just say that the Houston Texans were to lose and looks like in the secondary flag there could be an offensive penalty as well.
Taking a look at the replay.
So what, you're gonna happen? So what you're actually gonna have here is the flag was thrown, maybe for pass interference.
But then Hopkins is the 1st 1 to talk to the ball after he goes out of bounds, comes back and re establish themselves.
That's probably what the hat throw is from a referee there.
If you were the Houston Texans and you were to lose this game, falling to six and five, all of a sudden, you get right back into that murky area.
If the Pittsburgh Steelers could get a win this week, now they're in that six and five category.
Even if the Cleveland Browns get a win and get two fought five and six.
You know the rain around 500 there, then you talk about the Buffalo Bills.
If they could ride out the rest of their schedule, you certainly would feel comfortable saying they're locking up first wildcard position.
So you know, and you look at Oakland, what do they do this weekend when they take the field? So these are the kind of concerns that you're gonna have for both of these teams.
A loss here tonight is going to put you in a absolute wind now mentality going forward.
We take a look at the Colts and what their schedule looks like following this game.
They're going to get the Titans so automatically.
Especially within the division were the coats to lose and then followed up with the loss against the Titans.
Titans we're gonna rise themselves up, depending on what they do. They may be right.
They could lose this weekend when the next one be a 500 Colts could find themselves in a very similar boat.
Beyond that, they'll take on will go on the road against the Buccaneers on the road at the Saints, and then he'll be home for the Panthers before going back out on the road there to close out against the Jaguar.
So not an easy schedule for them.
A very winnable game, I think you would say.
But Saints, you know, that's gonna be a difficult match up on the road for the same to have been really getting themselves back into rhythm with the return of Drew Brees.
You want talking up for a win? Shore? And then again, another difficult matchup, essentially, with the Jacksonville Jaguars, though, if you're the colt's division rival.
But you certainly would want to see yourself get that W.
So you know, after this game you're talking about maybe playing to a three and two record, it would probably be around what you think.
So winning this game here will yeah, let's say three and two, Right.
Let's say that you beat the Buccaneers, You beat the Panthers, you beat the Jaguars and maybe you lose the Titans and Titans and saint with losses that you take you places to three and two.
If you were to drop this game now, unfold a six and five Now, suddenly you're talking about being at that nine and nine and seven number on the season.
And I don't know if that's gonna be good enough to lock up that second a wild card spot or not.
And obviously you're gonna be going, you know, toe to toe here with two other teams in your division.
Look here from Watts and they go right back at it.
They're going to go ahead and have say is down by contact their connects down the sideline.
A beautiful pass, their over the top And we seems a couple of times now the blown coverage first here.
Fuller just goes straight down the outside.
It's a go route over the top.
Just cannot stay with him.
Great hands there.
And the Houston Texas will be right back in action here, as this is a nice looking touch past taking a lick on the back end was that Shawn Watson, but it keeps himself eyes looking downfield.
And really, on that point, the D B just doesn't have much of a hope. They're.
As as we know, Texans have burners on both sides.
Just outside the 42 41 here first and 10 for the Texans hand off behind the last humans wrapped up for what will be about a one yard loss.
So we've hot, so we highlight that, right? You know, the Colts here, if you include this game but lose they could play out to a 500 record here does become a pretty important one for them.
Taking a look at the Houston Texans and how they're, uh they're how their schedule is gonna shake out here as a 2nd 11 will be coming up for the Texans.
Well, fuller, highlighting their with eight catches of plus 25 yards or more so far on the season.
You had four catches already on this day for 71 Big Chunk play there for the Houston Texans from the 42 just outside the 42.
Drop back for Watson again looking outside again, trying to target that same match up there, This one fading out over the head, though not a great looking bowl there from Watson, didn't really give Fuller a chance to go up and attack that one.
So, following the Colts game, the Houston Texans are going to be home for the Patriots, home for the Broncos and on the road for the Titans than on the road for the Buccaneers.
Finishing up with the Titans again at home.
So we're highlighting the time being five and five.
Guess what? They have three matchups with these division opponents.
They can turn around the script here, and all of a sudden you could see these teams really flipping and rotating through the standings, certainly as they lined up here on 1/3 and 11.
Big play can certainly get themselves into fuel goal range without getting a first down.
Quick release their nice job just hanging on by a leg as he tried to sc**** himself over to pick up extra yards.
They're gonna get themselves down to the 35 yard line.
It's gonna make that a 42 52 52 yard will be there.
Computers give you 50 around 50 yarder here, depending on the spot where the Rapa progress there and we'll see on 1/4 and three they're gonna go for it. Makes sense here.
You're just inside the 35 of the 34 yard line so they will forego the field goal attempt.
Or it will be a very long field goal attempt and see if they can convert here on the fourth of three and keep the opening drive the second half alive.
Dropping back is Watson.
Oh, goodness gracious.
It'll be a turnover on down as he tried to throw that one raid into the belly of the defender.
More struggles here for do Shawn Watson well, could have been the second pick of the game for him.
Take a look here and just see if anything I know you.
So he's looking for Hopkins.
Coming across there does not even see the man lying in wait gets lucky not to be a turnover, but effectively.
It is the turn over on downs as the coats look to get on offense here and see if they can get themselves a lead in the second half.
Touching back in on the Houston Texans and what we see from them following this game, as we said they had the Patriots than the Broncos, right, Broncos, at least, have been certainly a defensive pest for certain teams.
And if you're the Houston Texans going up against the Patriots, it is at home, so you can hang your hat on that.
They will have now two more B three home games in a row here.
But you know, let's say that over the course of these games again, you want to say this.
Split the series against the Titans of, you know, certainly division rival.
Get that win against the common opponent with the Coats in the Buccaneers there on the road.
And then, if you split these next two games once again, you're talking about a team who has the tougher matchup.
Certainly with the Patriots mixed in there, But you know, let's yeah, let's say they let's say they beat, they lose the Patriots, beat the Broncos, get one of those two wins and beat the Buccaneers as well so they can get themselves at 32 Combo.
This again comes down to what do you do in this game.
I think both these teams could be looking at three and two to finish out the year over the last five.
And it will be what happened in this game that got one of them into the leading the division and then left the other team trailing that one game loss.
So, you know as early as it is right now, and I'm not that anyone probably had any misconceptions about.
But this is a huge match up right now in terms off where you finish out the season and because of you know how tight that wildcard race is gonna be out in the A F.
You really do not want to find yourself battling it out, especially proteins that could be in.
That nine and seven range could come down the last game of the season for both of them, and whether or not they're able, Thio convert themselves over into W's.
And the only thing I want to take a look here, too, is for the well.
I don't think a quick peek at the Titans here as we're in a commercial break before the Colts takeover.
They will, as we said, have the Colts on the road, then in Oakland to take on the Raiders will come back home for the Texans and all the Saints in between.
So not unfortunately, listen, they have it out in front of them.
But some difficult matchups here, you know, to go on the road.
If you were to lose the Colts and that followed it up with Trip out to Oakland, a team that's been playing better and in that wild card playoff hunt as well, you know they could find themselves all of a sudden losing a couple of quick games after they take on the Jaguars this weekend in the 405 game on Sunday.
You know, all of a sudden it if you need to get the win, their say at home against the Jaguars.
But two quick losses were throw games at Indianapolis and at Oakland, and then you go home to face the Houston Texans.
So you know their season very much still hangs in the balance as a nice hand off there goes toe highs and he just goes and scoots up.
That line picks up a first down 11 12 yards there and ah ah that you're part of that was Williams there on that rush, and we will see if the ah Colts can get something going here in the second half after successfully having a defensive stand getting the turn over on downs.
And we see how they started at the game pumping three times.
We turned it around with a touchdown in the field goal to finish out the half, so they've gotten themselves into a bit more of an offensive rhythm.
We'll see if Jacoby per.
Secondly, this team another run rate up the gut rate to the teeth of the defense.
56 yards picked up there.
Another solid run.
And now you're starting to see this team get into a bit of a rhythm as T y Hilton is on the sideline right now.
Yeah, excuse me.
Little bit early to be yawning.
I've been doing a couple of times now.
Ah, you just highlighted their Hilton's only played about half of the snap so far in this game, a little bit under half the staff, so obviously managing him, looking to use him in the big spots when you really need him, so you probably wait and see until they get a big chunk play here and move down inside the 40 inside the 35.
Did you try to being bring health and on get some of those matches that you like and expose those another hand off here on second and five.
Nice job there, ranging down the defensive line and wrapping up after a short game.
Williams just picks up a couple there and I'll bring up 1/3 down and two for the Colts here with just over 10 minutes to go.
So once again, I like highlighting the schedules and how things were gonna play out here.
This could be a pivotal matchup for both these teams.
We did talk about their schedules and how they bore out.
And then the big current part is gonna be If you're, let's say, the Houston Texans, you go to the Buccaneers.
Very winnable game for your late in the season, and then you come home to take on division opponent.
It tightened, so feel like you're very much gonna have titans, bucks, Titans, old things you're gonna lay out in front of you after what could be a couple of difficult weeks with the Patriots and then with the Broncos.
But those are both home games as well as percent finds Doyle over the middle.
Converts on the 3rd 2 Very easy conversion there for the Indianapolis Colts, 9 30 to go here, and we'll see if you get t.
I hope, going back into the game and getting into some offensive sets here, as we will highlight, then just going back into this real quick.
Want to see how those last couple of games will match up for the for the Colts? You know, Panthers at home and then, ah, coats on the Star Jaguars on the road so you know they're both gonna have their fate in their hands.
But I would expect this division to be playing out there on those last couple of weeks of the season is slashing up the gut.
There goes Hinds for a nice five, almost six yard pickup again, going right through the teeth off this Houston defense, unable to stop them right now and when you know you're a team that wants to be able to after getting a stop like that show soon.
Consistency on the offensive end.
Ah, 70 rushing yards in the first half and They have already gone ahead and really put their foot down here to start off the first drive here in the second half and showing great balance with 21 rushing place to go with those 20 passing plays.
But on this drive alone, just the one past two now for rushing place, they lined up here in a 2nd 5 to 5 yard pick up on the run.
Heinz remains in the backfield again, patient running.
Yet something gun converts in there on the first down run looks like about a seven yard gain, depending how it plays out.
So in spite of the fact of missing Marlin Mac, the rushing attack for the for the Colts has certainly been on point so far in this one.
Well, go ahead and dive inside these numbers a little bit, Maurin some of the real time action that we've been seeing, like you said, you know Williams with those 16 carats, 53 yards.
But let's go in in touch on what Hines is now giving you, as he has now pitched in just three carries but start five carries for 39 yards of great balances, he's been getting big chunk plays when he checked into the game again.
This offensive line.
If you're Colts fan, it's almost ironic and probably disappointing that you wait until after, Uh, you know, Andrew Luck takes the beating over all the years with the bad offensive lines in front of them.
You finally solidify that this year, and now you hand over the reins.
Streak over Setting certainly has been to his benefit to be able to have that option.
Ah, they go ahead with the, uh, with the R p.
They give it toe.
Hines is he sweeps out to the outside.
It will be 1/3 down, but he made interested.
Just get around that edge a little bit off a second and eight and is gonna put him in 1/3 into position.
Another very convertible play here and you have to love you.
Seen from the coltsoffense being able to dictate the tempo, staying with the rushing attack has been very consistent here, and we'll go with another hand up off the gut, and it's Heinz converting on 1/3 and two goes right over.
Got a little bit more stout there from the defense on the Houston side of the ball but still convert it and they'll bring up a new set of downs.
But I will go ahead and probably probably gonna get out of here.
Following this drive will see where they stand again.
Ah, the big matchup for both these teams.
I'm a check back in, I think, a little bit later in the game action.
As they wrap up, we'll see where the game stands if in the fourth quarter.
Looks like this is a competitive one and remains tight, as it has so far.
But jump back on and see if any players that there are worth highlighting.
As we went through, someone with another hand off to Williams goes to the outside, gets pulled down quickly thereafter.
Just about a yard and 1/2 there.
So second down coming up here.
And obviously this could be about which team is able to convert in the red zone and get a touchdown.
Is both having to settle for a field goal opportunity that gets really spell the day here.
When you take, when you take a look at who's gonna be able to get out ahead here and maybe put a little pressure Right now, though, I would say early returns here in the second half.
So far, I like what I have seen from the Indianapolis Colts.
You know, Bend, but don't break mentality, certainly on the defensive side of the ball.
But more than anything to just seems like wants and showing a little, those inconsistencies missed on opportunity.
Down the down the sideline was good coverage.
But you know why Don't bounce.
Doesn't give Fuller an opportunity there as Williams gets inside the gut, bounces out to the outside and gets us Hotch down.
Boy, I tell you what.
Nice commitment from the Indianapolis Colts sticking with the run.
And Williams does a great job again, Has a couple of yards there in front of them to work with off the handoff, gets bottled up a little bit, just takes a little shuffle.
Step back, bounces into the outside and scampers.
We're going to see right here.
It's an inside draw.
You're gonna see the tight end.
Doyle, come around, bottle them up and really just kind of start.
Williams a great job of assessing, but he's bottled up there to the left, bounces off a would be tackler.
The linebacker position takes couples that back swings outside that.
It's the veteran Joseph unable to grab him in the open field.
And from there, it's a foot race to the end zone, and he will cap it off.
So liking loving what I'm seeing so far.
17 10 lead following a bit of a whistle blower here.
So flag down on the play here before the extra point goes up, Will.
He has done a great job picking up the slack.
This rushing attack overall has been very effective in this one for the Colts.
And, well, just briefly.
Go ahead and set up what we said here.
70 rushing yards in the first half and now to this 700.129.
So just after one possession, picking up an additional 59 yards on the ground here has been phenomenal.
Two headed monster.
Seven carries for Heinz for 48 at a 6.
9 clip, and then both of those carrots coming from William's 18 for 68 then the touchdown.
So great stuff there.
That long run of 13 yards for the touchdown, also his longest of the game, has Venit.
Terry will drive this one through 17 to 10 on what was a beautiful, sustained drive following the turn over on downs.
They're able to convert.
Take the lead here and we'll see how Houston can come out and try to respond.
Give that defense of breather to reassess as we only saw one passing play there is, they got down into the red zone from percent.
All the damage getting done on the ground for the one giant podcast.
I'm gonna go ahead and check out here.
I'll come back in around the five minute mark It this one.
If it looks like things are tight, I'll also be keeping an eye on the game in the interim and seeing if any of those players that we kind of highlighted a few free agent options that are out there Maybe in these games of the Giants may want to take a look at as well.
