really worth grabbing onto here.
Under the guidance, A Spencer didn't get here in the third quarter.
I'm not going to say that the comeback has been completed by any stretch of the imagination.
But at the 4 10 mark here in the third quarter, the Nets have brought it back within 15.
And certainly if you're a follower of the N B A and a basketball, 15 points is something that you can continue to bite into.
We'll see how the Nets look here on this defensive possession as they managed to get turn over.
So just like that, it is Amon Shumpert.
They was brought in for this defensive presence, and he certainly has done a bit of that here.
And this one gets the poke away on Holiday, gets that ball and takes the foul.
So the Nets now have the ball down 15 402 to go here.
It'll be interesting to see if they can continue to close this gap a little bit.
Points in the quarter is 25 Thio, 18 in favor of the Brooklyn Nets.
So listen, Shumpert pulls the string on, the first thing goes off front rim.
You would like to think that maybe the Nets they could just get this down to 12 12 would be a nice one to pull this back into here lets you know that you're only a few possessions away the start of the fourth quarter to making something happen.
Time out here on the floor.
They just take a look at a couple of quick news and notes and stat lines around here.
We're taking a bit of a defensive check in, you know, looked like someone had a little bit of blood there.
So cut on a player's leg there for the Indiana Pacers.
Just leads to a brief referee.
Time out to get that taken care of and wrapped up.
And now Shumpert.
I'll go back in to shoot that second free throw attempts that just take a look at one other note here, and they were gonna get a foul call here on the second free throw attempt.
This one is going to be on.
But so DeAndre Jordan gets the foul cold against ah McDermott.
There is he has he reached in and pulled his arm way.
We'll look like DeAndre Jordan with that nice attempt for a free throw.
Their started re down there on the missed free throw, and Deanna Jordan knocks down the first of two.
So the Nets and close this thing in, gotten themselves down to a 14 point game here.
I can make it 13 on this second attempt, and from there, you know, listen, you want to play tight defense as best he can hear to close out the rest of the quarter.
If you can keep this thing within 10 to 12 maybe 13 points, you're giving yourself opportunities.
That one goes high off the back rim and threw for DeAndre.
Jordan falls two for two.
They're on the free throws and back down the other end it.
Shumpert trying to play pesky defense is they drive through Turner with a top of the key does not get it to go.
It's gonna be Temple in music, combining for the rebound usedto brings it across the court.
And now we'll take a look at what the Nets could get into.
Was Shumpert leading the point here.
Now, as the Indiana Jordan kind of walking the same line there but re setting out the top, it's gonna be didn't woody driving in attacking.
Kicks it out, Shumpert.
Now sloppy turnover.
Lost the ball there, but it looks like it's going to stay with the Brooklyn Nets.
Discussion All Iran, and it will stay with Brooklyn here.
So just off the fingertips, there looked like Holiday got his fingers to.
That one is the That's well, look to in Van and Smart play there by Shumpert.
Just go ahead inside steps and banks it off the defender to give himself a fresh shot of fresh hot five second clock here to get the ball in bands, shout out to our faithful follower CB Castor, once again looking inbound jumper, looking for someone to get active here so we can get the ball and he'll find Spencer Dinwiddie, who turns drive the lane up and under.
Can't get it to go.
No rebound there from DeAndre Jordan, and we will head back the other direction with the 13 point game, though this is within reach for the Nets to make this thing.
Ah, game in the fourth quarter is music plays, some stymieing defense there and there it is, a quick touch that was Shumpert again.
Active on defense gets to go off of Indiana, and it's going to turn over here.
We'll take a look.
He gets his hand in, and there it is, reached out.
Gotta touch there, and we'll reset.
The line is here for you in a second as well, So so far.
Certainly, you're seeing the defensive dividends paying off for him here in the time he's had on the floor.
You have Holiday, Warren Turner, McDermott and long on the floor for the Indiana Pacers and then for the Brooklyn Nets.
It's didn't Buddy, Temple, Jordan, Shumpert and Yusa.
We were highlighting some of what we had seen in the first half there.
Now the Indiana Pacers shooting 40%.
Through this point of the third quarter, the Nets have technically moved a little bit in the right direction, now shooting 35% shooting 36% from beyond the arc.
So they're moving the right direction there as well, on 66% 12 18 from the line.
Nice job by Shumpert.
So right now the Nets are trying to dig their heels in a little bit.
We talk about the box score on this one when you get outscored 41 17 in the second quarter, certainly is not going to be an attractive look goingto half time, second time this year.
Remember back against the Phoenix Suns? 48 in the third quarter of that one, so leaking like a sieve on the defensive side of the ball, That being said 27 16 here in this quarter? And that's how you find yourself in a bit of a ball game, Taking a bit of time on this one.
What seems like a pretty, very interesting call there.
Pacers will retain the possession, so they're going Thio.
Wow, I'm really surprised that that one there, they're going to say that that ball was off Shumpert and did not touch the Indiana player.
I do not know how you could watch that replay and think that was the case.
It tapped right off his palm.
But back on the defensive side of the ball, the Nets go in a 13 point game, see if they can get a couple of stops here to close this quarter out through the lane.
Off glass, it'll go.
Is that what he brings it across the 77 62 game here, Temple from the side knocks it down from the wing of three pointer, and we are now within 12 points.
Kevin Durant getting hyped on the sideline for the Brooklyn Nets a little bit.
They're trying to keep this thing going as best they can.
I mean, listen to the MBA is a game of runs, and certainly in a game like this, as the under George is a nice job not committing the foul from the outside.
A three pointer won't go and Temple bodies out nicely.
Gets the read and and we will go the other way, as the Nets can maybe claw to within 10 here, or even a single digits on a three ball temple drives in the lane.
The man out cannot get it to go.
Maybe that's even Steven on that one.
Not sure if you use the elbow to extend their and the Pacers will come back down the floor of the approach.
Two minutes to go in the quarter, three from top of the key is good.
Pull up Temple can't get it to go and the Nets starting.
Get back on that streaky shooting mood now.
We'll see if they can really re identify themselves and get back on track.
Lead extended now if those last two possessions back out to 15 on that three bowl.
And once again just like that Mr Runner in the lane.
So Shumpert comes down to a loose ball as he moves across the court there.
Dim Woody smartly allows that thing to run in front of a little bit as he was still technically in the backcourt himself, fully across just yet.
Dimly drives through, tries to get the ball outs amusing in the wing.
And a nice job or something in the lane there by the Indiana Pacers approaching one minute to go here in the third quarter of action.
If you're just jumping in on with us, you'll see that the Nets had it back down to 12 but now extended out to a 17 point lead by the Indiana Pacers.
Sure, I want to call myself the black cat with ladder hanging over this team that they just walked under here, but they had managed to get a little bit close.
Jump back on, and suddenly it's going the other way.
A runner, a rebound, but missed and quickly Temple gets it down, Finds Musa on the outlet he drives through the lane, cannot get it to go.
But they will get a foul called on the back side of this one.
So music will go to shoot two with just under 46 just over 46 seconds to go here in the third corner.
The nets now find themselves once again down some one large here.
But couple possessions left to go here in the quarter again, you talk about If you could be in that 12 13 point range going in the fourth quarter, I think that feels surmountable.
Whereas as Musa cannot rattle the 1st 1 home right now, being down 17 may feel like you're only a few minutes run from the Pacers in the fourth quarter of feeling like this one's, you know, out of reach is Justin Holiday picked up his fourth personal found there against music music, shooting his second free throw here, and we'll take a look and see if they can get some stops here.
Maybe 46 seconds to go so you can find yourself in a situation where potentially you could be looking at getting a stop here and a maid basket.
Get yourself within that 13 14 point range would be enough.
I mean, you feel pretty good about Sabonis.
Does not take the three kicks about a top.
Why it open? Look off hard off back rim confusion.
And, of course, that's the way it goes when you're having a rough game.
It is Garrett Temple and DeAndre Jordan, both trying to figure out who wants to grab and secure that bowl is gonna be.
Temple has his hand on a John Doe Jordan clutters with.
It's a bonus touches.
It goes out of bounds off nets.
And just like that, you go from getting a good defensive, stopping a chance to maybe get yourself to an 80 to 69 or 80 to 68.
It's gonna be an easy open look here on the baseline.
Force of Bone is pushing us back to an 18 point lead with 12.
Best case scenario began.
15 going to the fourth and will certainly carry you through to the start of the fourth quarter and see what the Nets conduce.
Spencer Dinwiddie, using the DeAndre Jordan screen, works through the lane to the trees or their circles around gets up and into the glass.
They're not gonna give a foul call their 1.
4, and they will not get off a shot.
So did would he scores to close out the quarter There certainly give you everything that he's got a 14 point lead.
I suppose you would say that it looked like the Nets had an opportunity.
Get there down into 12 or even 10.
Possibly dream within a dream of single digits.
They do close out the quarter 33 to 25 on that one.
So plus eight in the quarter still find themselves down.
Big will dive inside the numbers as we wait for the fourth quarter to get underway and have to be wondering if the Nets have anything in them to start this fourth quarter.
Taking a look here, Tori on prints and 20 minutes of action struggling from the field.
Three of 11 just seven points.
The team high is Spencer Dinwiddie, of course, nine of 19 4 of seven from beyond the arc in six or seven of the line.
28 points for him.
That's pretty much it.
Jared Allen has kicked in 10 for this team and 23 minutes and certainly sounds and flashes in and around the rim.
Nobody else is in double digits on this team starting unit, with Harris going just two of seven from the field, one of five from three point range, and then Temple closing out three of eight and 26 minutes and two of five from beyond the arc as well.
The problem that you're running into here is that you know one of the things we're talking about.
If Harris wants to have the inside out game and be able to do a little bit of everything, that's great.
As we're noting, though, when you play teams that have some big in the lane makes it a lot harder to find that spacing when you are not necessarily a quick a quick guard or, you know, sorry, quick forward or a sizable force that could go in really body into players.
So all of a sudden, something that maybe you've been relying on a little bit more of these past couple of games is not necessarily option for you.
And as you try to get the all offensive rhythm going excuse may claim that like it's only 9 24 East Coast time.
But you know, you try to get that rhythm going, you can't find it.
And now you're struggling.
T really keep that offense going, and he's now This makes, uh, I'd say this is about three games, depending on how the rest of this second half plays out.
But our fourth quarter.
Rather, this is now a bit of a trend here in a slump for Joe Harris.
Currently, nobody else really showing you anything from the bench in that team again.
We highlighted this in the pregame coverage leading up to the start of this one balanced offense from the Indiana Pacers and much of the same here, right? 18 rebounds for Sabonis were Highland in the first half.
He's complimenting himself with 16 points in a double double, 20 points from Justin Holiday Warren kicking in 14 and only five from Myles Turner but also giving you five rebounds in this one on and then the other holiday kicking in 15 to starting rotation.
Looking very strong into this one.
That's been enough for the Pacers to carry the day and what is now a 16 point game will go ahead and see if the Nets can give you anything here to start the fourth quarter.
Get some space, front rim on a three.
The man in the same and sweatshirt in the front row Certainly like that shot, though.
He was up there for it.
Unfortunately, all of his support in the world could not get that three pointer to fall.
Make German fakes on the three.
Gets a blow by from Jumper, back out, though the reset here and see if they can find a rhythm into the lane.
Why it opened from the outside.
Not gonna go front.
Rim and Temple will get this rebound secured for the Nets again.
And just feel it feels like the game is there for the taking for the Nets that they wanted to do it.
They just cannot seem to find that consistent rhythm for the Pacers.
Certainly not from an offensive output standpoint.
Blowing anybody away 84 through 3/4 another three point attempt.
It does not go on.
DeAndre Jordan, despite blowing a man out of the lane, can't get the rebound and the pace will come back down one minute gone here in the fourth.
McDermott's on a hideous shots, and they will call an offensive foul on Sabonis.
He can't believe it, as most NBA players cannot.
That's still your a minute now through the quarter.
You like to thank you.
That two possessions, the peace we have not been able scored on.
And yet we have not close the gap.
We'll check out with.
Well, you could certainly call Miles foul trouble for him early here in the fourth quarter.
We'll see if anyone else can step up here.
As Temple gets the handoff from DeAndre, Jordan elevates and gets the phone mid range jumper.
Feel free gentleman to use the mid range game and any points.
Try to get back into this one.
Now 14 point lead for the Indiana Pacers.
Home is a turnover, all right, so finally, let's catch a break of warrant trying to work through that lane There can't quite find anybody out there in the corner, and it's an opportunity for the Nets.
Once again, Down 14 with 10 30 eights ago really may have a chance here to close in on this number.
I've liked what I've seen from Amman.
Shumpert in this one.
He's given you some good looks on the defensive side of the ball.
Have been a little destructive, certainly has struggled a little bit from the outside That did.
Knock down a three there, and we'll go ahead and reset your lineups for you as well.
It's going the other way and turn over from the Nets.
Can't get out of their own way in this one.
Temple Jordan from the game here now for the Brooklyn Nets Well, with Warren Long.
Yeah, today's the dad's never gonna get their friends.
Anne McDermott for the Indiana Pacers, driving baseline up in under.
Scoop goes and the foul will count as well back to 16 point lead.
As we head in on 10 minutes of playing, this one feels like maybe it's just not gonna be the Brooklyn.
That's day Temple on the coverage on that one.
Unfortunately, can't get it to go.
I'm a little surprised with Theo Pinson.
Uh, for no other reason that in a game like this I might be more inclined just to want to see the young players get extended minutes in this to be in the fourth quarter and clacks and still only has nine.
I'm not saying he's by any stretch been effective in this one, and I have a listen when you're this close in.
He's probably also been suffering a little bit as Eat micro.
Theo Pinson drives Elaine, I guess, this one to get up and in pulling the Nets within 15 here.
9 52 g 41% from the field for the Indiana Pacers, just 36 for the Nets have been a bad shooting night. Nice job by DeAndre.
Jordan Air does a heck of a job getting the rebound and then immediately throws the ball away, looking for Theo Pinson on the breakout, and the Nets will turn it over.
So that's about part in parcel.
Do one thing good.
Do two things poorly, and the Nets find themselves down 15 inbound from the Pacers.
We'll see if they can turn this thing around.
That shot out to Johnny Socks and Jenny Hawk.
Thanks for coming in on the action.
Thanks for thanks for following Jenny Hawk.
Happy to have another person on board here with the We got Nets streaming on SportsCastr as the nights get cold on a foul, they're inbound side out here for the Indiana Pacers does not look like we are going to get some of the hopes and dreams of a comeback here.
But ever the Brooklyn Nets fan, I'm gonna ride or die with them, just like Matt Damon and Weezer.
Baseline jumper does not go, and we'll see prints on a run out here, drives the lane.
And just like we saw in last week's game, he cannot avoid the issues of on the breakout plants.
His feet in the lane, the defender does, and Prince, looking off ball, just drives right into a nice drop by long getting in front of him.
And as you know, I think a lot of times fans will call for It was.
His feet are moving, your feet can be moving.
It's just more about establishing your body, not leaning into.
So even though his feet were not necessarily both planted firmly on the ground, it's a charge.
Call their turnover for the Nets and back the other way.
A nice job defensively.
But Pinson will get cold.
I thought maybe you got a clean block there on the jump shot, however, it will once again be back to the line for the Pacers.
And this time, McDermott.
I have yet to say Dylan McDermott, popular nineties and earlytwo thousands actor.
But I've come close to it a couple of times, and I think they're gonna call this one, actually, on Joe Harris catching it on the on the wrists.
They're not Theo Pinson.
Thank God, about nine minutes a game.
Action here so far.
The Nets unable to really close in on this one, though McDermott misses on the first free throw, 15 point lead.
Early returns on this ugly fourth quarter is 4 to 3 in favor of the Brooklyn Nets.
So you know every opportunity Pacers want you to do well three minutes into the quarter, and they've only given you three points.
So you certainly want to try to find that spark.
Didn't Woody is now back on the floor here, and an opportunity as he's been the only one who seems to have that ability.
He checks back in.
He, Ah, he has been the spark for this team.
The only one on this team seems able to find a rhythm there, and we'll see what they can look to do.
One of two for McDermott, 88 72 in favor of the Indiana Pacers.
Driving the lane is Pinson up off the glass.
Pretty wild shot.
But there is DeAndre Jordan knocking on the door for an offensive rebound and put back now down to a 14 point lead.
Once again, as you are always looking for, though, a defensive stopping, if ever there was a game for it, when the Indiana Pacers are not necessarily blown out the doors.
Look for McDermott curled around look very familiar to a Joe Harris play.
He knocks that three pointer down and it's 17 point lead in the corner.
Back over to din.
Witty searching backs it out.
Let's reset the offense as DeAndre Jordan comes out to set a screen, drives into the lane, rises up over Turner.
I can't get it to go 74 91 and there is going to be a call here.
They will call a foul on this one here, so well, Ball will stay down here with the offensive, and we're gonna see trying to figure out we're looking at here I guess they're gonna call it underneath the basket that they were locking up DeAndre Jordan and not allowing him to get up on that rebound attempt.
So still, a glimmer of a sliver of a shadow of a hope here curls around for Joe Harris.
Joe Harris goes past Turner up and in 76 91 just about eight minutes here left to play in the action, wondering if the Nets can get themselves.
Ah, stop here, that's all. You're looking for him.
We've already seen now a couple times he got the stops, goes hand in hand.
And then, of course, you have to have a couple of sloppy turnovers.
But if they can just get one or two looks here, maybe give themselves a chance.
Easy floater over Jordan and Lane, 93 76 pushing that number back towards that 20 point threshold.
As fencing comes down, the offensive end takes it one on All cannot get the phone.
Another stat line that we can go ahead and highlight here for you is that Theo Pinson, coming off the bench, shot one for eight like his mentality attacking the basket.
But a negative 12 ratings just not gonna cut it.
And quite frankly, I don't think that's what you're looking for from them.
As the Pacers will drive and go up and over, Kenny Atkinson is gonna call the time out here.
Does it feel like it's a waving the white flag? 95 76.
Indiana Pacers? A massive 11 8 advantage in the quarter and once again the Nets just not able to find the stops.
I mean, you know, you talk about the help defense on that one.
DeAndre Jordan E Temple has length there.
He certainly does enough to drive him towards the baseline.
You really want to see DeAndre Jordan already over there covering it? There's not a ton of opportunity for a dump off pass or look into the lane from the from the Pacers runner there.
I don't necessarily understand if that was something we'll check in on.
It's something that I'll pick the brain of Doug Nori when we get on the podcast together.
Recording early tomorrow morning will be out there in the afternoon for anyone to check out.
We'll try to figure out, you know, is DeAndre Jordan on those help defense isn't getting over the weak side.
Is he doing enough? Is it getting there quick enough and is elevating early enough because I'm a runner, Play like that.
There's certainly an opportunity to be able to get a defensive block and protect at the rim.
I think Temple does a nice enough job.
He's not getting fully into the basket.
He's forced to drive onto the base line there and get one up and over.
But ultimately, it is still in for two over on the Indiana Pacers side of things.
More consistency from this unit.
Across the board, you have four players in double digits.
I don't know, and I could maybe see McDermott there.
Knock out a three minute has come on a little bit here, will say, Come on.
But you know he's Drew Drew a foul also knocks down a three point Tim.
So you know these things counted, by the way, Even in the game, you have this big of a lead.
You expect everyone to be mostly in positive ratings from starting unit, though you have Sabonis and Holiday Justin Holiday, who are both in the plus that plus 16 plus 14 respectively.
But off of the bench.
How about it? McDermott, plus 27 on the floor has five rebounds.
Has contributed those seven points.
As we mentioned, I'm just positive across the board there, right? Well, look, we'll look to see here for in transition into anything else that we want to talk about in what has been a ugly home opener to this homestand.
Will be is klaxon checking back in? Is music.
Getting around here used to give you 14 minutes.
So far to this point, I don't think there's any reason not to give Claxton.
Who? The opportunity.
If I apologized, sometimes losing you make you make you make you tired. Friends.
There's no two ways there's no two ways about it.
Uh, interesting to see if class and gets an extended run Here is not about, you know, changing the outcome of this game.
It is about trying to find just opportunities for young players to get reps in, You know, in the game action here, highlighting the fact that we look the fourth quarter that 11 8 total also have to mention that the Nets in the first half were given a We're highlighting the 77 overrun NATO run 32 to 6 in the first half.
That's the room that the Pacers went on there.
And that certainly feels like one of those things that you just don't come back from.
And, uh, and it's played out that way, right? 19 point deficit here for the Brooklyn Nets with 7 21 to go is Temple looks that rotate around, finds Joe Harris, who does not trying to get a little jumper.
There gets the Alan Alan back into the middle of laying there.
Finds did with the with seven to shoot here.
Top of the key pulled back.
Can't get the up Brooklyn Nets fizzling out here.
What do you think? Well, they break 90.
I don't know if you really expect that as Indiana Pacers move towards that 100 point mark.
We talked about this again in the pregame as well, right? Teams that have done well against against the league averages in terms of defensive performance and have been maybe middle toe back in the Indiana Pacers come into this one with a nice block by Spencer Dinwiddie, but the rebound is picked up in a foul will be cold here going to go against Joe Harris on that one.
I tell you, I can't follow this venture.
Then he's given everything he's had here.
Uh, we highlighted in the pregame of this one, right? Indiana Pacers come in 23rd ranked inoffensive scoring, but because they're pretty strong on the defensive side of the ball, the question mark becomes.
Which way does this one go? You still have big man on the court for them, you have size.
Advantage is across the board.
A lot of these positions, the first free throw is knocked down, so you know it bears out.
We've seen this House the third game, where teams that are good on the defensive end in spite of struggling offensively, they've been able to pull the Nets down to their level, get into these low scoring affairs and now with six.
But it was 6 44 to go.
The Pacers is still gonna find themselves up and over 100 probably pushing towards 1 10 By the time it's all said and done, Joe Harris will lose that ball off himself out of bounds.
And let's say that it was a touch there, so we'll stay with Brooklyn here, down 21 of the fourth.
But again, without these without the obviously key components in Kyrie, Irving, Caris, Levert, it's just hard to figure out where the Nets are gonna get consistent offense.
Didn't Woody And in these matchups against bigger teams? Certainly you're bigger inside the inside the lane there.
Joe Harris driving in, hands it off to Temple, who has a pullback.
That goes off front room short, and that will be Myles Turner on the rebound and the basis to go the other direction here.
Coming up on six minutes to play in this one, A lot more questions than answers out of this is the Net start.
Their homestand, of course, will be coming back on Wednesday with the matchup with Charlotte Hornets.
And, good Lord, you'd like to think you could put that down for a win.
You know, one of the things that we've touched on as Ah, runner, a jumper in the lane.
There goes for the Indiana Pacers, and it's a 99 76 just disastrous performance from the Brooklyn Nets on the defensive side of the ball.
Well, go ahead and move into what I'll call the wrap up of this one.
I am not going to stick it out all the way through on this on this PICO episode.
I will check in tomorrow as well, with just a couple more insights that we can have and things you want to see them look into for that Wednesday matchup.
So expect sometime in the afternoon.
Most likely I'll get that up there.
But I'll try get out on social media on Facebook, instagram and Twitter and let you know when you can check in for that.
If you want to watch it live, but about a 15 20 minute wrap up of this game, and then look ahead to the Hornets game and try to get a little bit more inside.
These numbers will be something that will do tomorrow for everybody as well as we transition into the look of this.
You know where the team is gonna find their offense without Kyrie Irving dealing some injury issues even when Carrie comes back.
I'm not gonna, you know, gloss over the fact that even if you had Kyrie Irving, you might still be losing this game, you know, because again the one man show that is Kyrie Irving is not necessarily going to allow for balance overall on this team.
He alone was not going to correct The shooting was they've had from the field in this one.
And at times, as we know, he can actually have some off nights, also from the field and then not taking 30 shots and shooting 30 or 32%.
And that could be a detriment in and of itself.
But you know, a team that is five and seven if we want to go ahead and just dive into some other information here, you're talking about a team that's five and seven.
When the assuming that we're going down in this one little fall to five and eight, take a look at that schedule and you're going to go ahead and have matchups Now, going forward here, right? We're gonna have the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night and then you're gonna follow it up by the Kings.
That'll come in on Friday and then Sunday with cross town rivals.
Technically will be Eddie over an away game there for MSG.
Then we get into the November 25th match up in Cleveland against the Cavaliers, followed up by the home in home starting in Boston before coming back and hosting our Boston rivals there in Barclay Center.
So what are the expectations here? Right? You're about to fall out of five and eight.
Let's assume you could get that win against the Charlotte Hornets and get to six and eight, seven and eight.
Maybe you can get yourself back on track over these next three games and then even get into the plus column against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But the Indiana Pacers, even though I think they are a strong team in the long run, have had their issues early on here.
So this is This was a winnable game on paper, remember, we talked about the over under on this game.
It was Nets giving two and 1/2.
So certainly it looked like from a Vegas standpoint that this would be a tight game with the injuries being about equal, and instead you see the net result that we've had here.
So you know, you can't chalk up any of these games to be winds.
So if you were to sweep those next, you're in a four game win streak in a row.
Maybe Kyrie Irving comes back healthy.
That obviously pivots things here.
Diaries back healthy.
I can give you the Charlotte in Sacramento and the Cleveland game? Certainly, no.
But the next game, with a little bit size for them as well, could be an issue for them as a shot from the perimeter goes down for the Nets, 79 99 20 point deficit with 5 45 to go here in the fourth.
But you know the bottom line being is you could lose, though, that you could lose that.
You know, back to back there with the Boston Celtics, you go into there.
Let's say that you're only looking to split these next four games because I can't give you anything better than that.
You know, to into there very easily.
It's gonna be another two and 46 games.
Stretches as music turns it over, trying to get into klaxon underneath the basket there.
And if that's the case, you finished this one out your five and eight.
You're only grabbing two more wins.
You you're only getting a seven.
There is seven and 12 7 and 12.
That means you're right at that 20 game mark with the game against the heat at home.
Before you go on the road against the Hawks against the Charlotte Hornets as well, you're getting into a meaty part of this schedule.
Now, This is where you start to have concerns about where this team stands and how they can compare in the Eastern Conference in securing a playoff spot.
You know that That is going to be something that you have to start to call into a little bit of question here.
Once you get through, what ends up being 2020 25% of your schedule, 102 to 79 Now's the Pacers would come across into the front court.
Uh, I'm not gonna clean too much about the games here, but this is really where I will just stay focused now, right? Uh, let's say that this stretch doesn't go according to plan over the next six, but Kenny Atkinson will call a time out here still trying to educate, I guess, more than anything here.
Well, let's pull up those MBA standings right now before we get out of here.
We know the Nets are gonna lose this one and fall to five and eight.
Taking a look at the Eastern Conference right? Right now, the Nets are in the ninth spot behind the Magic word six and seven.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are foreign aid, and right behind you, the Bulls air for nine.
There's not a lot of competition in and around you, so you know you'll have to get over the Orlando Magic at some point.
We're coming up against teams you're gonna lose to the Indiana Pacers.
Your company is the Hornets, who are in the seventh seed right now at six and seven, and certainly the back end of the Eastern Conference is looking a little bit muddled.
I would say early returns here on the year, but you know, a team like the Pistons, who have struggled early here had some injury issues.
Can they get themselves back on track out of the Atlanta Hawks trying to be concerned about or the Bulls or the Cavaliers? So minimal things to worry about? Outside of the fact that the Magic the Hornet played horn? It's probably better than people anticipate leaves early in the year, but the magic or a team that you assume we're going to be in a competition there for the back end of this back into the playoff picture here in the Eastern Conference.
How do you expect Thio locked up a playoff spot if you're going to be a sub 500 team through 1/4 of the season? You know? And the schedule? While we had highlighted this in our preseason ****ysis for the Brooklyn Nets, the schedule has pockets like that.
But this pocket here that we're talking about, this one of those we thought, This is where you get healthy, right? This is where you beat up on some of the bad teams around the league and give yourself a chance.
But now all of a sudden, you have to take that step back as Karu Kes.
Hey, we get a look at Cruz.
Finally, some people would have wonder if he had had an injury.
It'll know perfectly healthy minutes.
Miss trashed his last handful of games.
I'll be curious to see something we can talk about.
Some are a little bit is what are the expectations, too? Maybe utilizing him again here following this loss against the Pacers and knowing that you need to just kind of rotate these bodies through and check in on the health of Kyrie Irving.
But can this teams that can this team get wins against the Charlotte Hornets, the Sacramento Kings in the New York Knicks? The Cleveland Cavaliers? You can turn this thing around and all the sudden be right there around 500 feeling very positive as a three pointer will not go down from the outside there.
And we'll go back the other way on a 106 to 81 just demolishing at the hands of the Pacers.
And they're going up over their season average, by the way.
So this is born.
This is Borat, I think.
Two out of three times, if not every single time.
Let's go ahead and highlight that as well.
Uh, this is going to be Indiana Pacers.
We talk about it, right? They came into this one.
We want to know where Ah, these teams both stood.
Indiana Pacers were low ranking 23rd for the scoring output.
Offensively, Nets average 1 16.
8 We're gonna be absolutely below that as class and drives into the length gets fouled hard, grabbed up there and he'll go to line to shoot, too.
Indiana Pacers averaging 106 point a pregame, almost 107 to rate that mark right now with three minutes to go.
So bad defense from the Nets, it's gonna allow you to go ahead and pick that thing up into high gear, and that's great.
Then we check in on that defense is stat line.
And as we had mentioned, Pacers were a little bit better on that side of things, and we go ahead and locate them and 104 right? So they're playing tight games.
They're playing tight games and their ranking themselves points given up.
They find themselves at the fifth spot there, so minutes end up scoring.
What is 82 Right now? I don't care who's on the court or not for a team that in this tin, today's n B A.
That is just ungodly, and this has happened.
Now, remember the other game something.
Another game where a strong defense has been able to absolutely destroy the Nets offensively and then a reasonable to below average 23rd ranked offense is now going to find themselves as the Nets managed to turn the ball over in the backcourt with just two players, both wearing Brooklyn Nets jerseys, and they can't figure it out.
Nawab is in the game now for the Brooklyn Nets, but so to finish at that point, excuse me.
The Nets get beat up by co defensive teams, and then they cannot Stein e bad offensive teams.
The 23rd ranked team is going to end up averaging close to probably 1 15 million by the time this thing is all said and done, a hoisted three from the Pacers goes front rain rim and easy rebound reset for the offense with 2 40 to go here in this fourth quarter.
But yes, so then this is bearing out.
Shot from the outside goes 109 82 that this will be a running theme unless the Nets can figure out the defense's side of the ball.
It doesn't matter.
You can be, ah, bottom of the league ranked offensive team and still be able to score out against the Nets.
You can be a team that plays sound defense and absolutely shut down what has been a somewhat rhythm rhythm less offensive unit for the Brooklyn Nets so far this year.
Uh, if you could tell a little bit of disgust on my end.
So I'm gonna go ahead and let this one wrap up here.
I will check back in tomorrow.
We'll dive into a little bit more of what we saw in this one and what we think the Nets can potentially do.
I'll dive in a little more information in and around the, uh the injury for Kyrie Irving.
Probably just again as we talked about hedging their bets, not wanting to risk anything as far as the Brooklyn Nets are concerned with their superstar going long term.
But ultimately, you know that you are just one week into the 5 to 6 week timetable for a caress liver return.
By the way, even with Caris, Levert and Kyrie on the court, we obviously we're still having our issues.
I think that some of these offense of rhythm, things or things that we can work out that we can find a way to solve.
But I don't know if defensively these are things that we can figure out.
It could be the case that we really are just looking at, Ah team that's going to be that and a team that needs to know whether or not we can manage to get wins when we need just outshoot opponents and when we're not gonna get defensive stops.
That could be a fact of life for this team right now.
The players that were on the court here just so you knew it was obviously got cool it out there with Claxton.
Nawab Pinson gets a longer run here who shot two for 10 and looked certainly, uh, less than impressive, I would say.
And then it's Ah, Camero.
So, uh, Timothy is gonna check into the game here for the Nets.
First time that he's gotten some game action here he was 2016 1st round pick by Philadelphia, 24th overall, and he's gonna go ahead and get a little bit of a late run here.
And you certainly think that if Kyrie Irving is not playing and just diving into the garbage time minutes, maybe this is a guy you want to see late in these games.
It's also interesting to note that you know, Cruz didn't come on until virtual garbage time.
So opinion of the coaching staff or a now, as it stands not very high on him, but certainly someone they hope that they re build back up and may be given opportunity.
