What is up today? Coming off a very big victory.
Victory Monday, baby.
All right, So, uh, Saints went in the Tampa Bay yesterday.
Got a big 34 to 17 victory coming out of Tampa Bay with the season sweep.
Um, we did everything right yesterday, guys.
This basically what it comes down to.
We did every little thing, right? Um, you know, we played great defense.
Sidley contained Jamis Winston.
We took advantage of opportunities.
Those are all things that I stressed importance in the pregame show yesterday before the game started.
And we did all of those things.
And that's why when you look at the scoreboard, we got a significant victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Um, I had my doubts.
I'm not gonna lie coming into yesterday, you know, coming off a tough game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Um, I had my doubts yesterday.
You know, Buccaneers here.
They're sneaky team.
They can. They can hurt you.
But you know, our defense and especially without Marshall Lattimore.
But our defense did rise to the occasion without Lattimore.
P J. Williams stepped up.
Marcus Williams stepped up.
Chauncey Gardner Johnson stepped up Patrick Robinson stepped up.
All these guys really stepped up.
Eli out without a phenomenal job yesterday.
He should have, like, four interceptions.
But you know, the defense.
Overall, I think they got four *** three or four sacks against Jameis.
Winston, Um, and they got four interceptions.
They also returned one for a touchdown.
Um, so just a great overall game for the whole team.
Drew Brees threw three touchdowns.
Alvin Kamara stepped up in special teams and was our kick and punt returner.
Taste of hell was also returning kicks.
So, you know, the whole team just really just stepped up.
Ah, we all did our jobs and got the victory.
Um, we're now eight and two on the season.
I think we're now three.
There should be four games up ahead of the Panthers.
Yeah, the Panthers are five and five.
So we're three games up.
Um, we're almost that clenching time.
It really is like the season has just flown by.
We've already played 10 game.
There's only six games left to play, and then we're down to play off.
So the Panthers keep losing.
You know, it was almost clinching time.
Um, but yeah, probably my players of the game.
Drew Brees went out there, threw three touchdowns.
Camara had, I think, 140 something all purpose yards.
Um, Michael Thomas.
I think he had 11 catches for 1 13 Something like that.
I told you guys to pick him up with fantasy and start him yesterday.
He had a good game, like four catches.
You had a touchdown? Um, I don't know, guys, it was just a crazy game.
It was so much fun to watch because, you know, especially after watching the entire Atlanta game last week and then we go in, we just absolutely dominated team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Um, it's just fun to watch, you know, it's always fun to beat up on your division rivals a little bit.
Um, but I give that I credit the whole game to the defense man.
It was just absolutely a phenomenal game by the defense.
They created extra opportunities for us.
Um, and we took advantage of those opportunities.
We held my Gavin's and Chris Godwin, too.
I think they had 14 targets, seven catches for like 70 yards.
I think know not even it was like for 60 yards and one touchdown.
So between the two of them, seven catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, which I will take all day all day long, Um, between the 22 receivers, By the way that our top five coming into the week and receiving yardage it goes Michael Thomas and I think it was my Gavin's.
And then Chris Godwin was like four.
So, guys, we're here dominating dudes And those were with backups like P.
J. Williams stepped up.
I've been telling you guys for years.
Maybe not you guys specifically, like, I've been telling my Instagram followers for years that P.
J. Williams is legit.
Everyone's like, Oh, here's toasted.
All the to move.
Bro's NFL, like everyone's gonna get torch from time to time.
But dudes always making Blaze.
If you like what? Until I drop season highlights at the end of the season, he's been making plays all year long.
He's so good, same with like I mean, it's just like the guys that no one really thinks they're going to step up.
We get weak out that always step up like Von Bell got his first career interception yesterday.
He's been making plays all year.
He's been forcing fumbles, recover and fumbles, blocking punts, doing it off and getting sacks.
Hell attack was like dude everywhere all over the field, and he finally gets rewarded with his first pick.
Kiko Alonzo kind of tipped it up to him.
Who? He also played a phenomenal game yesterday.
Kiko Alonzo was all over the place.
DeMario Davis Monster Game four Pass breakups at it like 15 tackles.
I believe something about 10 15 tackles.
He had an interception.
Dude with balling yesterday.
Um, he got my player of the game, actually, so that was exciting.
Um, but yeah, you know, it's just really just comforting to see that we were able to go out, get a big win on the road and, ah, you know, pretty much come out injury free.
I think I don't think we have any significant injuries.
Um, another, like big name who really stepped up yesterday was Nick Easton.
I don't know if they were actually gonna put in that guard yesterday, because he's usually just enacted that we usually whenever my guard would get banged up in a game we would just send will clap out there.
And so I was just assuming that will clap would get the start.
But they started Start.
Will our neck Eastern, who we brought in as a free agent from the Minnesota Vikings this past offseason, and he went out there and played very well.
You know, our our offensive line played really well.
I think the only give up one sack the whole game.
Two sacks, maybe, obviously, Ram check and Armstead played great.
Ana, obviously, Warford played great.
Eric McCoy played great and they all played great like and it was like I was a little bit concerned about that with Andrew's Pete going down because he's been like he's been there like, he doesn't get hurt all that often.
He's usually like a plug and play kind of guy like you just put him in the game and he usually stays there and you don't really have to mention them too much because he's just kind of doing this thing, you know? But, you know, we really cut down on the penalty yesterday, which I liked.
Um, that was definitely a relief due to our, uh, the fact that we've had a ton of penalties the past couple of weeks, it was really just a big a big sigh of relief to have a penalty.
Um, it's not a penalty free game, but like, you know, not have as many.
I think we only had, like, seven.
For like, 80 are something that the whole game, which isn't terrible.
Um, well, let's did well, two for two on field goals.
Continues his streak of, ah, having at least one field goal made on the road.
And I think 38 consecutive games on the road now, which is obviously an NFL record.
Um, my Thomas said an NFL record yesterday.
A couple of them actually, um, became the first player to ever have 90 catches their team's 1st 10 games.
Um, he also is now number four on the all time receiving list in Saints history.
Um, so yeah, obviously that's very exciting toe have such good talent.
Um, you know, and we haven't locked up for years, so it's just, you know, it's nice.
Cam Jordan had a couple of sacks yesterday.
Um, Belle had a sack yesterday.
Demario Davis had a sec.
We're getting to the quarterback.
We're keeping the quarterback off, Drew.
You know all that.
The only person who really didn't play all that well yesterday It was Taysom Hill.
Uh, you know, he took a sack and he fumbled the opening kickoff like his opening cape. Returning, fumbled.
And then he took a snap.
Later that game, a quarterback.
He got sacked, Um, and then he caught one pass.
I went for, like, three yards.
I didn't get the first down, and but he struggled a little bit yesterday.
But you know, when you play the same team multiple times, year after year, you know teams to kind of start to pick up on, especially our division teams.
They really kind of start to pick up on how to cover Taysom Hill.
So that's why you didn't really play all that much yesterday, and we kind of needed him as our kick returner.
So it was all It's fine.
I mean, it's not like we really needed him to play Well, it's just I always just love to see Taysom Hill just ball out and do this thing out there just because I mean, he's just one of my favorite players is just a super fun guy that watch.
Um, but I'm really curious to see what we're gonna do in the off season.
As far as quarterbacks, Coke is Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater antiques until all other contracts expire at the end of the season.
So, um, we just kind of curious he was gonna happen there.
Um, I'd rather it's just, like keep drew and, uh, tastes, um because I know we could probably bring tasting back for cheaper and, um, maybe just sign a low profile quarterback or draft one.
It all depends on what happens.
You know, this season, if Drew Brees decides to return what? Not if Drew Brees decides to retire.
Then we need to bring back Teddy a sap and take some bring the boat back and then kind of bring, maybe just drafted rookie in the draft, you know, But, uh, if Drew decides to continue his career with us, um, obviously, we bring him back, maybe like a two year deal through your deal, and then try to bring back tasting for cheap underneath and probably the same amount of years.
Um, just because you know, longer we can keep one in the better.
You know she's better. Better for everything.
You know, Everyone's happier Saints fans or happier make them.
NFL makes more money.
We're just fun to hate, So who knows? And the NFL loves teams that are loved to be hated.
People still hung up on that bounty gate from 11 years ago.
Um, yeah, it's been real, you know.
It's been crazy.
It's been really crazy this year, you know, it's just the year she'd kind of flown by.
It's almost like I expect to win every week, And so when we don't win, it's just like super heartbreaking.
And I'm just really upset, you know? You ever get that? I was like, You expect to win, But you don't And you're just like what happened? What went wrong, But one guy who I'm really been impressed with this market's Williams.
He has been absolutely dominant this year, like I had my doubts at the beginning of the year.
If you guys remember at the beginning of the year when I started SportsCastr, um, I had my doubts about Marcus Williams, you know, and I really kind of slept on him even before the whole Minneapolis miracle situation like I just kind of thought he was just like a right place, right time kind of guy.
Um, kind of got lucky, but dude's been consistent year after year after year.
Now, like the past three seasons.
Huck and I apologize.
You know, I'll admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong about Marcus Williams coming into the year.
I kind of thought, you know, Von Bell was the better of the two safeties and he could still be on asleep.
They're out on the same level.
They're on the same love.
So you know what I mean.
She's like, You can't really compare to guys that are technically two different positions because Bonds a strong safety and Marcus is a free safety.
But they're both, like, honestly, our old defense just just ridiculous, like it's crazy like everyone's making plays out there when we got back ups are here getting picks.
So I mean, granted it is Jameis Winston and he'll throw it toe literally anybody, so I mean, take it or leave it.
Um, do what you want with that information, but four interceptions in a game, regardless of the quarterback is nothing to slough, John.
Um, but it's just, you know, rest of our schedule is not too difficult.
We got a couple of tough games, you know, we got the Niners coming up.
We have a bunch of other, you know, we got a couple more division teams coming up, so well, see, um, obviously, the Niners came back and got a big win yesterday against Arizona.
Not too happy about that.
Arizona was leading most of that game.
So that obviously is kind of a bummer, because we need them to lose.
Um, so that weekend go up in the standings a little bit, but Carolina lost, um, which is good.
So we're three games up in the division right now with six to play.
So I think if we win next week in Carolina, loses, then clinch division already, so that's kind of go.
Yeah. We're going down to the nitty gritty here, guys.
