man, Welcome back into the one giant podcast coming to use streaming on the SportsCastr network.
As we had mentioned in our first initial couple of ah episodes here we want to be coming in and taking a look at some of the positions that the Giants are gonna look to improve over these next six weeks, scouting some of the players they have on their team currently as the highlight, the offensive line and a player like Nick Gates and then also looking ahead to some of the free agent opportunities and then also prospects for the draft.
I'm gonna come in early in the week here and take a look at some of those offensive lineman that we had highlighted and Henson and Thomas and worse in Jackson as well.
At a UFC of the three tackles there mentioned that, Ah, that all played over the weekend, all played yesterday, so we'll break down a little bit of what we saw from them.
Some of the competition that they were going up against will certainly give us a good gauge as to where these players maybe look.
But as we wrap up the late games here, Ah, some opportunities for the Giants to improve their standing as faras.
Their draft outlook goes, regardless of whether or not we win or lose any more games over the last six of our season.
Thought maybe Cincinnati had an outside chance of picking up their first win of the year, but with 2 2021 here to go in the fourth quarter, 13 12 for Oakland.
But for all intents and purposes, looks like the cannula wrapped this one up as they continue to push down now inside of the 40 so they can get themselves in field goal range making A to score game.
I think that'll wrap things up here for them.
A pitch to the outside, cutting back up in field.
Get that about the 34.
So certainly not gonna be a chip shop.
I instructed the imagination, but I think the Oakland Raiders will take the opportunity to try to pick up this field goal in locking in victory.
Otherwise, maybe Cincinnati can come back here and give themselves a chance to pull something out the other game that we also thought maybe it was going to be a bigger one.
Uh, it was tight certainly.
And that was the Arizona Cardinal game against the 40 Niners.
They go down, they score late and then recover the recover the kickoff as well.
So that ends up, resulting in a 30 to 26 victory for them.
And we just saw also a deep pass downfield in the Philadelphia Phillies game, now 3 54 to go 17 to 10.
New England leading Philadelphia's Well, some of those games direct impact on the Giant.
Some of them not, uh, you know, one of the decoys that I also had in watching it being earlier as well in a year for the New York Giants, when the division seemed like it really came back down to Earth and a lot of ways, in spite of where some of these teams may go, Dallas and Philadelphia, you certainly felt like if the Giants had gotten their act together a little bit more, as we may be hoped in the off season would have a chance for them to at least be in the mix as we move through this season.
Instead, we stand where we are so looking over the rest of the games that happened today and what that means for the New York football giants.
Obviously mentioned San Francisco pulls out the win there against Arizona.
So it does mean that Arizona routine lower in the wind total and therefore higher in the draft order.
Tampa Bay also got beat up by New Orleans, 34 17.
Looks like J****.
Winston is probably on his last legs there as far as his career and probably looking to move on and jump on as a backup somewhere else in the league next season.
You would think so.
They lose as well.
That's a direct impact.
Giants lost to the Jets last week, and the Jets went on to beat the Washington Redskins this week.
That's gonna go ahead and bump them up to give them their 3rd 1 of the season.
So I move them potentially a little bit behind us in the draft order as well.
Ah, you know, outside of that, we saw some other games go off like Buffalo Miami, where Miami unfortunately lost their look like they may be.
We're gonna make a game of it a one point there in the second half, but I didn't have enough head of the state had esteem.
And luckily for myself, I went ahead and I need the pivot and decided to start Josh Allen combined with Brown and wide receiver in my fantasy football league and, by the way, may not seem like that big of, ah, move to make.
But when you have Patrick Holmes on your roster, two bullets, a bold choice and I went with it, it's certainly paid off in this one.
Outside of that, against Jacksonville, 33 to 13 losing to the Indianapolis Colts and then in a tight one, I thought Detroit without Matthew Stafford, really hung in there against Dallas.
Ultimately 35 27 victory for Dallas and improving themselves in the standings.
So we take a look inside the standings here.
Now is still obviously a handful of games to play as a lateral pass for the Cardinals does not get caught.
Now they're down the ground scrum ng another flick back.
They're going to get scooped up by San Francisco and running for a touchdown.
So if you have been have I had to take a look at what the spread was on this game because I'm sure that may have just made a difference for a lot of people.
If you were taking the Cardinals and getting coins there, you're now going to see that swing to a 36 26 10 point final score.
They're looking extra point as well and make it 11.
The official that one could have probably a pretty big impact there.
I'm not sure if they're talking it up or not.
Yes, they are gonna call it officially a touchdown so recovered there for a touchdown.
So you go ahead and take a look inside the standings.
You mentioned that the Jets at three and seven, now the Dolphins at two and eight or dead, even with us there moving through the Broncos.
My God, you talk about a team that looks like they were going to make a bit of a statement this weekend, then ultimately, Minnesota comes charging back down 2023 I think, at halftime, 23 to 7 in the third quarter.
At one point they come storming back and get that victory there.
Certainly a disappointment from the Broncos standpoint, but and for us as well, because they will hold at three and seven and then you get into the F C North with the Bangles.
Owen nine, looking like they may push towards Oh, in a 10 here, depending on how things shake out down the stretch on, then Likewise, you know the Jaguars losing, they fall to four and six.
That certainly could be a little bit of a potential issue for the Giants in terms of our draft order, but ultimately, right now you're talking about having the Bangles be ahead of us.
We're looking at the Dolphins.
The Jets are going to be right there with us and then over in the in our division in the NFC.
Obviously, the Redskins will be right.
There is, well, the Cardinals dropping 236 and one that time a comeback to actually help any other team, including ourselves, in that draft, because their percentages will be higher.
Plus the fact that we lost the Cardinals as well.
And then you also look at the Lions now fall into +36 and one that makes five teams.
And then you're talking about the Falcons and Buck's Falcons.
Two straight wins in a row is certainly looked like a completely different team and Ah Raheem Morris taking over defensive play calling duties there, and it seems to have made an immediate impact for them.
They come up with two strong victories, and maybe it's the sense of, you know, getting their season a little bit back on track and making ah fan base feel like they are further along in a better position than maybe the record indicates.
So you're talking about +56 teams that are all in the mix there.
As of right now, we would still be looking around the third pick overall, what to see as we head to play Chicago in the upcoming weekend, which again, a team that's four and five? That would be another team that we could help ourselves if we happen to lose.
But ultimately you want to see the guys were playing well and that we're making some positive impact there.
The other side note that I'll make it.
It's just a brief wrap up before I'll come in twice during this week, highlights and things that will focus on the podcast and expand on one giant podcast along with Andy.
But the other thing is some news was coming out as well that there's no anticipation that Pat Shurmur is going to go anywhere.
If you touched him with the podcast, Andy and I talked about some potential coaching candidates that we're bringing.
Uh, yeah, the offensive coordinator out in Minnesota.
Certainly the defense of coordinator from the 40 Niners came up, but if the Giants were to make a move, I think they have to go with an offensive mind.
You have to go somewhere, you know, taking care off the young rookie quarterback, all the young weapons and then installing someone behind him to run the defensive scheme as well.
But by all estimations, we didn't expect Patron to get fired in season, Certainly, and I guess it would take a bit of a total disaster from a play calling standpoint for him to get fired before next year.
I personally a two and eight seeing some of things had gone on, have not been necessarily thrilled with him from a play calling standpoint in game strategy, time management, timeout, usage, challenge choices.
There's been a lot of things to be, you know, violently disappointed.
And when it comes to Pat Shurmur, you know the silver lining or not silver lining.
But I guess if I was going to give him an excuse, it would be to say, You know, you come into this season, you have to think, you know, we identified Roemer's and Zeit Lor and you still at soldier.
And you thought, How a Pio, you know, these are guys that gentleman brought in.
And as the season played out early on and you saw the offensive line specifically named Soldier and rumors were not upto up to par with what you were hoping they would be, you knew that was gonna present issues for you.
And then additionally, with the injuries that have occurred, it's not an excuse for sure, huh, by any stretch of the imagination imagination.
But you've been without the wide receiver that you identified as your number one in Sterling Shepard for nearly the entire year.
Certainly that have in England with a little bit of injury issues as well.
Obviously we've seen a guy like Darius latent cop up.
We've seen issues, forsake, want Barkley.
So you know, there are things to point to and say it's hard to put it all at the feet of of Pat Shurmur.
That being said, I still would at least like to potentially if you saw some opportunity out there to bring in someone else in the off season and kind of turned this thing over.
The other coach that we've mentioned as well, of course, has been better.
The only reason why we don't bring up Mike Shula is because he doesn't do the play calling anyway.
So I don't know how you could fire a guy that is primarily handling practices and some of strategy sessions, but he's not making in the endgame play calling.
So he may have a better playbook than what Shermer is choosing to utilize on a game to game basis.
For better, though, I think there's a couple.
There's a couple of issues here for him.
If that you brought in some guys over the last couple of years that you would think he's been identifying as, Hey, we want to get in a Kareem Martin.
We want to take a look at Antoine Buffet.
We want to bring in markets golden and certainly Markus Golden, you know, has had some success for the team has eight sacks.
We highlighted on this last one though.
How is pro football? Focus rating maybe isn't as high as you like it to be.
I test says he could have an impact on the game, but it will be interesting to see what they do with a player like that in the off season.
Expectations are Kareem Martin will be gone.
Expectations are Antoine, but they will be gone.
And now you have to pivot and kind of turn your attention to say, What are we expecting from a Julian Love from a Valentine? You know, these guys need to get reps.
It's a little bit interesting looking at the satellite before the Giants this season to lead the league in rookie snaps played, and that obviously is attributed to Daniel Jones being on the field.
But then you're talking about DeAndre Baker and Dexter Lawrence.
You know, there are young players that have been getting substantial minutes for the for the New York football giants.
The other aspect is, then this is the issue that I take.
Everyone's been saying that there's a two mind sets about the Andre Baker.
Either he's a bust, which, if that's the case, I guess technically you'd say that falls to Dave Gettleman, but you would sink that better had input in saying, Hey, let's get up here and get this guy.
He can work in our system.
Then you turn to the secondary issue, which is, if you're better, why have you chose to utilize him in a way that simply doesn't make sense? He comes out of college, is being a man to man corner when they haven't playing everything.
But that doesn't mean that he wasn't gonna have some of his issues.
He's a rookie, and from that standpoint, though, you look at it and say, I really would have liked if they were trying to give him an opportunity to be a CZ, effective as he possibly could.
There was a little bit of talk about with Sam Beale being ready to come back.
Would you choose the bench Baker? I don't think that could be the answer.
Ultimately, you probably look ahead and say, If you want to put Beale on there, he should eat into someone else's someone'll snap count, including generous Jenkins, a player that we think could be moved in the off season potentially as well.
These are all things that will dive into a little bit deeper, but essentially, I just want to pop on here.
Highlights some of the games that it occurred so far on this Sunday on the Sunday Sleet. Note.
How a couple of them are good things, right? You're seeing a couple of these teams that are in that two and three win area there, grabbing a win, so get keeping ourselves in.
That top three echelon of the draft potentially is important because it allows us the flexibility to say, Should someone in the 1st 2 or three picks take on offensive tackle in Joe Thomas? What do we want to move to do? We want to go to Young and take a premier talent on the defensive side of the ball? I'd certainly be comfortable with that.
Do we want to take ah, wide receiver? Some people have talked about that I would hesitate against, and ultimately that will be one of the positions that we also highlight this upcoming week.
Taking a look at the wide receiving corps for the New York football giants.
What we have on the roster currently Darius Layton and what he's shown us so far this year, we'll also include the tight ends in that class because obviously have an angry is a bit of that hybrid player for us.
What expectations will be over the next six weeks, and we'll be like to cease from some of these players.
Don't forget Corey Coleman is still a part of this roster.
In spite of the injury, be curious to see what happens with him this offseason on the Giants roster.
I was expecting to bring someone in the draft, but we'll dive into deeper detail at that position.
And then when we come back this week, as I had mentioned, the last one will dive into the linebackers.
That gave you some some ratings and some players that I think will be in and will be out and noting how many gaps we have across there.
A lot of chatter on social media about where the needs are for the Giants as they head through the last six games and go into the offseason, Everyone agrees right? Left tackle is important.
D B is getting put put pretty high on that.
Now I can make a case that there is a scenario because of how much cap room we have because you're North.
Jenkins is a veteran because he has played okay, please strong above Al, you know, average to slightly above average over the course of the season. He's giving.
Your flash is still.
There's a scenario where he's still on this roster next year, and he's in the mix of these rotation of players.
If Sam Bill comes on and shows you that he can line up on the other side from Baker and be basically even or close to even with a higher upside at this point of their career than generous Jenkins, then I think you see the move get made.
They try to see what they have in Baker and then probably still look into that D B class going into the offseason and wonder.
Is there a player that can play a little bit? Hybrid cornerback and safety or inside of the nickel position, where we've seen some players struggle for the Giants this year is well, so well, those will be causing some areas we're gonna dive into specifically will go into the linebacking corps, talk about prospects the way we did with the offensive line, and then we'll preview the wide receiver corps preview the secondary and then follow it up later in the week with some options that we see in free agency.
And as we move through the last six weeks of the season for the Giants.
By the end of this, as we head towards the off season and what we anticipate will not be a playoff here for, the Giants will go ahead and take that step back right and identify who have we said from an offensive line position We're talking about left tackle, right tackle center, potentially free agent options.
Drafting options go through the linebacking corps wide receivers secondary.
Those are going to think that big components that we want to touch on and then once you highlight them, how did they plug in to free agency and draft? And what's a potential combination that this franchise can take to address the issues with the cap space that they have to be able to pull it a competitive product out on the field going into next season? You know, we highlighted about being a rookie season for Daniel Jones.
Got to remember in an injury year for, say, Kwame Barkley.
He will now be a year three of his contract.
You could get that fifth year option because on his rookie deal, and that's all fine and well.
But you only have five years of control for this guy.
And if you're going to committing some dollars to him down the road, you certainly need to see the signs of success in his year three and Daniel Jonesy or two.
And then by Year four in your five, you can think about extending him, Et cetera, et cetera.
But there's a lot of options on the table for the Giants with as the end of this offseason a lot of big decisions to get made as I take a peek here with the New England Patriots from their own 30 and just 49 seconds left on 1/3 and six rumbling, almost making it happen there.
We're going to go ahead and see Ah, the Philadelphia Eagles call their final time out with 45 seconds to go here and fourth down will be coming up.
I would not anticipate the pages doing anything fancy like going for it, and I would be surprised if the Eagles will pull something out.
But I'll go ahead and stick around through the final.
I did want to do kind of the NFL Sunday wrap up, obviously one giant podcast.
This is what we are here representing.
But that being said, there's been a lot of exciting games today, and it certainly was surprising with Cem near upsets.
Some teams that I think in spite of having close games still prove something.
I think San Francisco still proves something right.
Arizona has been a team that's been showing signs of improvement as they moved through this year.
I think they're gonna hang their hats on being a five, win, maybe a six win team this year and saying, Yeah, this is kind where we thought we would be Look what we have in Cuyler.
Murray, Look what we have in Christian Kirk in a lot of positives around that team.
And then even for the 40 Niners, though, listen, when you're when you're eight and one and you get you get to nine wins, the win is a win in the NFL, so you're gonna have these tough games.
You're going to have to battle back and certainly you're going to have to find ways to balance when you're run.
Game isn't doing so well for you.
Can Garoppolo start to lead your team to some wins? And those are things that if you're the 40 Niners, you want to be flushing out of over these last handful of games, heading toward what you hope will be a deep playoff run for them as, ah, doing the pick you take this away takes a nice bounce for them.
It gets down to the just over the 12 yard line.
So with 34 seconds left, a nice punt by Bailey there and we'll see if Carson Carson Wentz has a little bit of magic in there.
You had the Buffalo Bills winning earlier today.
You know, you had to be ecstatic If you're a Buffalo Bills fan, this is a team trending in the right direction in a division where you don't know what they're doing.
Sorry what the New York Jets are going to look like the remainder of this year and going into next season.
You know that no matter what happens with dolphins, they're still gonna be in rebuilding over the next couple of years, so you certainly can find yourself a path Thio being very competitive.
And as as the ageless Tom Brady starts the wine down his career may be.
A window starts to open up over the next two or three seasons that the Buffalo Bills can, you know, make a bit of a statement in the A F C East.
I think that'd be certainly impressive for them as well.
Take a look here at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Started First down once draws back.
Nice rush moves out of pocket, rolls out to the left flag down a holding penalty.
The past is deflected down anyway, so looks like that's gonna cost them seven seconds, plus a loss of yardage.
Here, as they move into a first and move, could be half the distance to the goal.
Could be a first and 16 from the six.
Let's take a look at what they say here it is holding on the offense, as you would expect, and they will replay first down 27 seconds.
Hold was on Kelsey there, and I'll even highlight as well as we're looking at this one.
I think, you know, in spite of the fact that maybe Ezekiel Elliott hasn't had necessarily the week in, week out turn out that you thought he would have on the Dallas Cowboys.
What you have seen is that Prescott can carry the load him in Amaury Cooper and picked up where they left off last year.
He looks like whatever anyone's thoughts were about him.
He has shown some of that spark that ability, really take over games once, fires deep downfield, catchable bowl out of the hands of the tight and intercepted by the England Patriots.
And we're gonna go ahead and run this one dance about the 15 flag on the play here.
We'll just go ahead and make sure that it's not on the defense and the flag came down around where the pick happened.
Could be enough.
It's unnecessary reference roughness on the New England Patriots personal foul, and it is so it's going to be on unnecessary reference rough miss on the defense.
So this one is not done just yet.
And this happened a spot of fouls at the 30 of yeah, and he got when he comes in.
Listen, I'm not gonna blame the guy, but he comes in there and he tries to put.
I mean, that is in this day and age of the NFL.
I get that they're gonna call it, but I mean his his helmet probably does collide with him, but as you see, the tight end leans forward trying to get re gather the ball that he Bibles were.
Brooks is just trying to put his shoulder through the player.
He unfortunately turns his head down a little bit.
It's helmet catches him and again in today's NFL, they're gonna call that so there will be the penalty is gonna move them up to just their own 21.
And with only 16 seconds to go here once will obviously have to be firing away. Three men rush.
Everyone drops deep, hits his man over the middle, he goes down and quickly.
And the look despite this thing with 87654 like, we'll get a spike in here.
Looks like Yes, they dio.
And with just two seconds on the clock from their own 42 a chance a chance that maybe Carson Wentz can pull something out here.
But I don't count my chickens before they before the roost here, right? Stranger things have happened, so we'll play out the final play of the game here, see if Carson Wentz could do something.
And if the Philadelphia Eagles have any tricks up their sleeve, maybe after the catch, you go for the 20 to 25 yard over the middle, start to set up some of those hook and ladder moves and and see if you can get yourself down the field.
Obviously, you only have one shot at this with only two seconds on the clock and with this loss.
And this is what I was highlighting as the New York Giants fan in spite of the Dallas Cowboys winning going to six and four, uh, you know, Philadelphia's gonna follow 500 here through 10 games this season.
Just a two man rush with Spy over the middle.
Once rolls out, gets a little bit protection, he's gonna throw this thing up.
They're gonna be coming down around five batted down game over.
So New England Patriots moved to nine and one that filled out the Eagles fall to 500 again, the New York football Giants team.
That's two and eight.
You felt like you had some winnable games in this season.
Maybe it could have been it three or possibly even four wins once upon a time, you know, then we sit in the A team that's in the mix inside of this very wide open division.
That being said, as I'm sure it will be looking ahead to the game coming up on Sunday Night Football.
It was a wild one, right on the heels of the Thursday night matchup where Cleveland one, but in some ways lost with Miles Jared and the helmet swing and all that action that in there there was, to say the least a little less than sportsmen will cool.
Put it at that later this evening at 8 20 Of course, you kept the Chicago Bears in the L.
Once again, in terms of where the drives can fall out, this is kind of a win win for them with two teams that are muddled around there.
In an ideal scenario, Chicago wins in L.
A loses and that will go ahead and pull them both at 500 keep them safely out of our wheelhouse.
I think the Rams, you would think, or any of the handful more wins here.
But they are where they are.
And at five and four, they're just a loss away here from being a 500 team through 10 weeks of the season.
And in a division as well.
Just highlight this one more time here.
Got to remember, right? 40 Niners sitting there, uh, now getting the win tonight, leading the division Seahawks behind them and eating to the Rams air.
Even with a win at six and four, you're gonna be on the outside potentially looking in, no matter what happens.
Vikings at 83 now Packers or 18 to they're gonna be playing.
So wild card situation is going to be very tight in the NFC East.
And then you throw into the mix potentially.
Maybe the Cowboys are the Eagles could still be a team that's at least pushing you for, you know? I mean, I would anticipate this being 10 win wild card teams, more than likely barring barring some, you know, boring.
Some disastrous fall from the Vikings or the Packers.
Org highlighted the Seahawks or the other 40 Niners.
Those are the teams that you're gonna be expecting out of those two divisions the West in the North, that air lock up those wild card spots.
So if you're the Rams, you need to get yourself back into the thick of this.
And they're probably on the outside looking in right now with just a 2 26 points, 491 against certainly have a plus ratio in that regard, but in a division where you have the 40 Niners who have on Lee's only giving up 129 points So you know competition has been strong in the NFC, certainly this year, and it's interesting to see a team that was so close maybe finds themselves a slipping in the hierarchy and going forward.
A Rams are just in the mix of that.
What is that? You would think a competitive division for the next several years there, with the 40 Niners on the rise that will do it for the one giant podcast lie streaming on SportsCastr.
As I said, if you follow us over on social media on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook at one giant podcast, I will post up later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

Looking forward to a wide receiver reviews linebacker reviews and touching on the secondary a little bit, as will highlight what we saw from the offensive line prospects at the college level in yesterday's match ups and then looking ahead of some of the other positions for the New York football giants.
And also, of course, gleaming a heads the match up with the Chicago Bears coming out of the bye week, no changes may know coaches fire.
Be interesting to see if we see seem younger players getting into the mix there, and one last note would be later in the week when our second podcast of the week comes out, which is usually we try to get that out there for Friday afternoon as you're heading home from work to check out, we're going to be getting together with the Bears report.
That's a fellow Overtime Media Network podcast covering the Chicago Bears.
So we'll be getting on with them getting some insights from what they've seen.
What has been a little bit of a disappointing season for them, from a Mitchell Robiskie standpoint and from a defense standpoint, certainly haven't been as dominant as they would have hoped.
Eso we'll be getting on with them, and that would be a nice highlight as well.
For the one giant podcast I have been Adam or Obrecht be catching up with you first thing on the new week.
