for old Notre Dame.
Wake up the coast carrying her name.
Okay, we're ready. Okay.
I hate that it does this thing on, SportsCastr for those who don't know what this is on, don't usually watch this stuff.
They do this thing where they do a 3 to 1 streams beginning, and then they have the score at the top in this thing at the bottom.
But so I just usually say stuff and sing the song Where when I just started singing the Notre Dame fights on which I'm sure if you watch this game yesterday, you saw a lot of, uh the fight song being played.
52 to 20 was an absolute domination fest.
This game was over at halftime, 38 to 3.
Wife and I watched the game pretty pretty broadly.
We thought this was gonna be one of those games for Notre Dame.
There's gonna be a test, you know? Obviously, number 16 versus number 23 in the country.
I don't want to hear a navy being right for the rest of the year.
I don't wanna I don't wanna hear it.
I don't care that they play in the A C A C or whatever other crap conference that they plan.
I don't want to hear the fact that you think that Notre Dame is a shot and even getting in.
Excuse me, Notre Dame Navy.
I don't think I don't want to hear people say that.
Navy has a shot at being ranked at all. Period.
Done like seven and one.
Coming into this game, you play against a team like Notre Dame who, let's be honest.
Notre Dame? Yeah, they're ranked, but they're not the Notre Dame that's expected, or the Notre Dame that we all want to see.
You know what I mean? And so being a Notre Dame fan and someone who's been watching them since I met my wife back in 2014 2015 2015 seasons when I really started washing him intently.
Now I've been watching them for 15 16 17 18 19 of the fifth year of watching Notre Dame intently.
Before that, I was a U dub fan living out here in Washington and being them, and overall, I just love watching Contra Paul in general.
But watching that game waas, it makes you ask so many questions when you watch that game when you watch another name and Navy and the way we dominated the entire game, you saw Claypool get four touchdowns.
Ian Book threw for five touchdown passes against the team that's ranked 23 in the country now, obviously, you know, maybe hadn't played a lot of great teams.
You know, it's it's kind of the same thing with Notre Dame.
Like Notre Dame is kind of need not.
I mean, like Notre Dame playing Georgia, Notre Dame playing Michigan, Notre Dame playing all these other big team that they played all year.
Um, they're barely winning.
They're barely showing up.
Then they slaughtered my team like Michigan and get beat by a team like Georgia.
And we are the kind of the Navy in that round exit.
We can get slaughtered like Navy.
But Navy is that 2nd 3rd tier team below.
A team like Notre Dame, where Notre Dame is just the way they got beat by Michigan, is what it is.
But I thought we come into this game would be a close game, and the option would fool us a little bit.
But we just have better athletes on the field.
That's just where it is, You know, this is this just proved that when you have better athletes on the field is nothing you could do.
And there's nothing Notre Dame could not do that.
I mean, they put the track star on the corner of the field to throw a touchdown deep past me and book Claypool like I said, four touchdowns in book five touchdown passes on Absolute Domination fest by Notre Dame.
I don't expect them to jump too high in the rating the rankings.
I think Notre Dame is gonna be high in the rankings of Notre Dame.
Is gonna be gonna bump up maybe like 14 or something.
But, I mean, there are only eight in two.
There's two games left.
They got Boston College next week, and then they got Stanford the week after that.
They should be both of those teams, especially after the way the Navy both teams aren't ranked and Stanford's had a pretty bad year.
Unfortunately, and you look at a team like Boston College, you know, obviously the the 35 year anniversary of Doug Flutie's catches really, Doug Flutie's Hail Mary is really the only thing to talk about in that game.
We should win that game relatively easily.
If if anything's an indicator about the way this game was played and if any indicator anything's indicator about the way this game was overall handled and dominated by Notre Dame, we should handle both of those games relatively easily and finished the season with 10 wins.
I think the frustrating part is we came out, ran the ball physically, threw the ball, dominated on both ends on every single angle and did what we're supposed to do.
And we watched this game and we see all of a sudden Navy just just not show up.
And it's not that they didn't show up, you know, obviously, the our armed forces people are Navy, Army, Air Force.
All the arm branches and the military have all the respect in the world, for it obviously got Lineman who have to meet a certain weight criteria because if they don't meet that, you know that that criteria that can't even be be in the school, you know what I mean? Like so from that perspective, I understand how we beat them so handily, but at the same time it's like.
If you're gonna give the respect to a team like Navy to be ranked 23rd in the country, at least expect them to compete with the team. Like a team.
Notre Dame is who's a top 15 team in the country and easily talent wise is a top 12 top 15 team in the country, talent wise in the country.
I'm not saying Notre Dame is the most talented team in the country is.
Obviously they're not even in a conference, but in regards to the talent that they have to dominate, maybe the way that they did.
I mean, if you're gonna try to compare Notre Dame at 15 or 16 and then have Navy a 23 which is a relatively close ranking, I didn't even think that they're that close.
When Notre Dame comes out and stops them on their home court on the home home turf, it doesn't It doesn't add up to me in that realm to even have that conversation piece.
If you want to ask the question, Dodger Blue, Steph, feel free if you watch the game.
If you're if you're a Notre Dame fan, feel free, Um, but I just think it's.
I think it's fascinating, the rankings and how they rate themselves.
Obviously, Notre Dame's where they need to be.
I don't think Notre Dame should be in the top 10 it all this year.
If they win 10 games at the end of the year, there should be 12 at the highest.
I think after a win like this against Navy, being ranked 14th 15th is a relatively good spot.
But outside of that, I don't I just I don't think that they should be anywhere else.
You know, someone who's washing her name for the past five years and someone who loves this thing's university who can sing the fight song could sing the alumni.
You know, the Notre Dame, our mother thehe Lundy the song at the end of the game.
I can't think I can't.
I want nothing of this song, but, uh, Notre Dame, our mother, you know, stuff like that, like it is what it is.
But it's It's fascinating to me that a team like Navy, who I think expectations were that this was gonna be a really good game that Navy had a chance to win and for us to dominate And just maybe it makes it more frustrating as a Notre Dame fan because we sit there and we say, You know what could have been right? You know, it's one of those seasons where you know, a year ago 12 no get dominated by Clemson and then walk into this year have expectations of going back.
Um, obviously some some real tough games on the horizon with Georgia.
You understood that that game was coming and we're gonna play in Georgia, be brutal, and then you go into you go into Michigan and you get dumped, you get absolutely tally wack.
And then you play a team like Navy where you show up and obliterate them.
And now we're about to go to Boston College and Stanford, and there's no competition and knowing that there's no competition, that's what makes it frustrating, cause now we're gonna be 10 and two.
We're probably gonna get a New Year's Day bowl because there are only two losses are against really good opponents.
I mean, yeah, Michigan's not even really good.
That's a stretch.
George is really good way.
They beat Auburn last night.
Pretty impressive, Pretty impressive Victory 21 to nothing going into the fourth quarter, and I know Auburn was driving in the fourth quarter to make it make it more of a game.
But Georgia was incredibly impressive, and we we played them very well in Georgia and for them to be 89 and one now 81 overall, willing to that game now nine and one.
That was one of the most impressive losses I've seen in a long time by Notre Dame.
And then the way they played Michigan was a joke.
I mean, we flat out didn't show up.
That's been the case for Notre Dame for a long time, though.
I mean, I don't wanna I don't wanna keep beating dead horses, but this is Notre Dame.
This is what they've done the last, however many years.
Really, Since 2017 you know, 2017 they lose to a loose the George right.
They lose the door the second game of the year, Whatever.
Lose 20 to 19 right? And then they go into Miami with a shot potential shot at getting into the conversation of being in the college football playoff and make it absolutely destroyed going into Miami.
What was the score 48 18 or something.
We got destroyed.
Flat out, just flat out.
Terrible than 2018.
Undefeated Season 12.
No, didn't show up against London.
Flat out like first half.
We did okay, second half.
It just just fell apart.
Like we just fell apart of the team and knowing that we had a shot last year and had that chance blew, it didn't show up.
Clemson didn't show up this year.
Yeah, we lost it. Or similar.
Very similar to 2017.
This year is very similar.
2017 play against Georgia, this time in Georgia.
Everybody's sitting there saying, Yeah, Notre Dame had a shot, you know, had a big shot at winning that game.
The way they played, it was sensational, is great.
Now we got a show to go to the playoffs.
Eighth ranked in the country, we got a legitimate shot and outside chance.
Now it's certain things the way they had would have that chance easily.
We would have had a chance to be in the conversation.
Instead, we blow it.
We don't show up against Michigan 2016.
What we went for an eight year before that would I think, 10 and two.
We played Ohio State in a big bowl game.
We've got our butts kicked.
Barely showed up there, too.
It's like it's like this once a year with Notre Dame, where they just don't show up and you play a team like Navy.
You kicked there.
But the way you're supposed to, they're ranked in the country.
But you can't show up against Michigan like it's the stuff against Notre Dame that just That's frustrating Because, honestly, for the most part, if Notre Dame came out and and just played their brand of football constantly played with confidence, played with Plato bravado played with that extra extra, uh, you could sit there and just say it all day like there ain't nobody is gonna compete with them. They're nobody.
Nobody? Yeah, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson even claims.
And I get I get all Clemson's frustrating because they planned a garbage conference.
And honestly, if that implant a garbage conference, they wouldn't get a power five.
But it's garbage this year. Anyway, You get my point.
Um, that's those are the teams that those are the teams that Notre Dame should be competing Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and we can't physically be with this.
Look at the score.
52 to 20 against the team that was top 25 in the country, and we made them look like like garbage.
We made it look like trash yet respectable Navy Army, Air Force, you know, branch of the military.
I didn't show up, and it's just it's frustrating because, you know, constantly you have this, this this, this chance every single year as a unit, and what happens, you just throw it away.
You throw it away as an organization, and that's the thing.
That's but that's the best part about college football.
You lose a game and you lose it big.
Like the way they lost his Michigan.
And now they have not mission as bragging rights for the next decade.
Plus, because we don't play him again for another 14 years.
But that's what's great about college football.
When you lose games like that, the regular season means so much like every single game means so much lost his Michigan attacked us.
God accept their fate, and we have to just have to and being beating.
Maybe like this, potentially beating Boston College next week like this, potentially beating Stanford like this.
This is a wasted season, and that's and that's how it is with Notre Dame.
You don't go undefeated, you don't go.
You don't have a chance of championship.
Another matter, it's wasted.
It's the Yankees of college football.
It's what's expected, and if it doesn't happen, then it is what it is.
Okay, that's a quick one.
