always preps me out.
We're going in, everybody.
I am doing the postgame show for the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings game.
The Vikings win, 27 23 late in a game that did not need to be close down the stretch.
Wildly in enough itself.
A great, great, great game altogether in regards to the entertainment value.
But in regards to what? The actual expectations, where it was a nail biter, I I'll just be 100% honest.
Thank you. Some popcorn.
I'll be 100% honest playing team like Denver and being down 20 nothing at half the way that game was played. I'll be honest.
I watched the first quarter and I was like, Okay, poor first quarter.
You know what happens? What happened exactly? Then you watch the second quarter and we started looking like the team who played against the Bears early on in the season started like the Packers, when we could not quite get it together.
We lost the Chiefs was fine, but anything else that happened in that gain the first half, um, it kind of felt like we were the 2011 Minnesota Vikings.
You know, in the first half, losing 22 nothing to a team that, frankly, didn't deserve to be on the same field as us.
And, um, we're down 22.
I was on the verge of saying, OK, you know, if we keep playing like crap because we literally took a **** on the middle of the 50 yard line.
Way took a **** on the middle of field for the first half, were terrible with 47 yards total, and the Broncos had over 200 yards.
Well, you can't you can't allow that.
You can't even you can't even fathom that as a team at seven and three about to go into the bye week.
Now, I'm not saying we're lethargic.
Zimmer was ****ed during the week because everyone was playing like, you know, they're getting ready to go on their vacation everything.
Everyone had books, flights, he said.
You know what I'm saying, But I think the frustrating part for me I was watching that first half guys just we're playing undisciplined, unfocused.
Nobody came out to play.
Nobody came out and played with effort. It was a joke.
It's a flat out Joe.
The second half came in.
We found a way to get a quick score.
They get 20 tow seven.
They score, make it 23 to 7, and then we chip away when we chip away when we play hard and I tell you what.
And my main man came down there in the in the ***ual comments section. Just made the point.
Kirk Cousins baby yet? No, this dude legitimately came out, made some bootleg throws where, you know, I've been saying it since we lost to the Bear.
16 to 6 in the 14 this season, we went to into someone ****ed and Kurt Cousins, Cheerios For the month of October, this dude legitimately came out and played like someone had taken his favorite stuffed animal through it in a fricking wood chipper and said, Let's go, You're done.
Quit Every single game he performed came out, Do what he was supposed to do that past two digs.
Like my main man can just said down there was absolutely sensational on the bootleg.
Fantastic, perfect throw.
There were a couple of throws, Tuas well, that when you watch Kurt cousins come out with a different mentality.
You saw him throw laser beams middle of the field at Herb Smith at Conklin, at dudes in Windows that were the size of you know, this right here.
Like little tiny windows, they barely could fitted it.
That's the guy we signed for 28 mil year.
That's the guy we signed to take us to the next step, to get us where we needed to go when the run game wasn't there.
Today, against all, be honest.
The Denver Broncos front is pretty pretty, pretty good, and our offensive line is okay, but it ain't e.
I don't think it's just good enough to compete with the team upfront like the Denver Broncos.
And we found a way to utilize that with our ability to run more screens, to throw the ball deep, to throw the ball in intermediate passing yards, you name it, and then Kirk Cousins, Waas elite.
In this game, he did everything he was asked.
Now I don't want to hear about what happened in the first half.
In regards to what Kirk did.
Nobody did anything in the first act, like if the Vikings would have lost this game, it would not have been because of Kurt Cousins.
This is the first time all year long and really outside of the Green Bay tie game two of last year.
Outside of that, this is really the first time I can sit here and say, We want a game because of Kurt Cousins.
Our defense the last couple of weeks has been really, really weird.
You know, last week against Dallas, it was It was I was freaking out again late in the game because it is the same thing is today.
Last minute of the game.
Denver has the ball on the five yard line.
Couldn't get it in on three straight passing plays, which don't don't get upset about the whole call with with Geron cursed and Ah, and Phantom, I'm sticking.
It was Phantom, one of the tight ends for Denver in the back of the corner of the end zone because the dude pushed off the tight end.
Then Giron grabbed him after, but either way, three straight plays towards the end zone.
We could have lost that game really easily and I wouldn't have been shocked.
You go down 20 nothing to a three and six ball club in the first half and you lose and find a way to lose.
In the end, you has ever lose. That's just the facts.
But Kirk was the reason Kirk was the reason this team found a way to come back in this ball game offensive.
Now, defensively, I still got a lot of questions.
You can't You can't give up the easy plays like you did to a guy in a team like Vic Fangio.
Like Vic, Fangio is a defensive genius.
There's a reason why the Chicago Bears last year were absolutely phenomenal, and defensively, they were just a general.
There's still great defensively in Chicago, Vanja Trigger that next level because of it changes one of the best defensive minds, all football now dot Now Denver has him.
You look at Denver, you look at what they have going on and all the things that are occurring there being out their own problems.
There's still a great, well run franchise, John, always one of the best executives and all of the sport, and you know, they have their issues or whatever and I sit there and watching this game today.
The way we came back, that was all in her cousin's back.
And you told me before the season started that Kirk runs with the reason why we win some cups and games this year.
I would say, Well, first of all, you get paid to do that.
So that's number one second of all, watching the dude come out and do what you needed to do to get this team of victory today.
Coming back first time in, ah, 100 matchups.
And I can't think in the last in the last five years that a team down 20 plus points in the first half came back to win a ball game and the Vikings did.
You would have never thought the Vikings, with Kurt Cousins in the way he's played the last, however many years, would find a way to come back and get the steam of victory.
It was all on Kirk Cousins back. It was fantastic.
And so I said, I'm a man can talking about so fancy needs to be fired enough.
Hey, Cam, Cam, it's the fancies not getting fired.
The fancy has been with the organization since 2006.
Cam, I think you were in diapers in 2006 from Not mistaken.
Um, and he's He knows everything. Ins and outs.
He knows the back alleys.
He knows that he knows the front, the G m.
You know everybody in and out of everything that's happening in that in that organization.
Now him being an offensive coordinator, you know who is helpers, right? It's great.
Kubiak, Greg Kubiak's and all that's all.
Let's let's be honest.
I fancy is like the middleman toe what Kubiak really is, which is the offensive guru to this team.
Zimmer found a way to make adjustments in the second half defensively so we could shut down a team like Denver, which should be easy.
But for some reason was a problem in the first half.
And we found a way to come back in this game because offensively, Kirk cousins carry the load and listen.
I know it's a three and 16.
I know he's supposed to do that.
I know we've paid him enough.
I know all the adjectives and et cetera around what's happening with this team and why people have criticism of her cousin. That's fair.
I don't deny it.
I gave up on Kirk honestly after the game against against Chicago, we didn't show up it all.
Kirk didn't show up.
In all, Kirk was terrible in that game, But ever since then someone's been peeing and Kurt, Cousin Syria that it's fantastic, isn't playing like and the way he's been delivering the football, the emphasis he's been putting on the on the game, the leadership he showed in the second half of the no huddle for the entire second half.
That's what you're supposed to do as a leader, and he's been doing it.
Kirk hasn't been hesitant.
Kirk hasn't been sitting there like no Kirk spin s or get off the pot type mentality.
And that's what we need.
Because if he plays like that the rest of the year and his defense can kick back to some kind of four minerality, formidable nous and respectability that they've been at least early on in the season and it points in the last five years.
Then we got a shot at being a real Super Bowl contender, now 83 going into the Buy, we're done for November.
We walk into December.
We have a brutal schedule, replayed the Chargers.
We played the Seahawks, and then we play the rest of the division again.
It's gonna be interesting because we get to play the division at least twice on our home field, which is nice, because obviously played the Bears and Packers early on, away from way from home home field.
So it's It's gonna be an interesting After the bye week we got Thanksgiving coming up.
It's gonna be interesting to see how these guys were spotted coming off the by going into Seattle, coming this neck of the woods where I live.
I don't know if I'll be there.
I'd love to, but who knows? You know, life takes its own way, but it would be great to go to the game and see how this 83 ball club could go.
Both Seattle in Minnesota are just teams that run the ball with reckless abandon, and they both got guys at the quarterback position who can lead now a curtain.
And he's no Russell Wilson.
Russell Wilson is the M V P of the NFL right now, and it's not even a debate, but it'll be an interesting fine to see that game play itself out on Monday night.
here in about two weeks.
In fact, 15 days from today.
If you've got questions for me, if you're watching, you're sitting there hanging out, ask me questions on what? What I thought, what you thought.
What did I think of the game? Questions in regards to what you think happened to the Minnesota game.
I'll be here for another couple of minutes.
Just rambling the ambling along.
Don't feel like you can't ask the questions that can't be on to see what happened.
Get eight and three on the season.
The Vikings are there.
Three losses are against the Packers, Bears and Chiefs and everybody else they've played this year.
I mean, they've been they've been sensational that know what they're supposed to do as an organization.
This year, in fact, they've played it, beating a couple of teams that I honestly thought they wouldn't beat this year early on and being eight and three going into the by knowing that now winning two more games, which is very feasible.
We play Packers, Bears, Lions and Seahawks.
I think I think we'll lose to the Seahawks in Seattle now.
Do I want to start kick yet? Do I think we're gonna win.
It's gonna be tough, because the way we played last year, I was at the game last year.
Very similar teams coming in.
Obviously, we have Dalvin Cook Now we have a whole different scheme offensively in the way we produce.
You know, if you remember last year when we played in when Minnesota played in Seattle, that was the last game that De Filipo was.
The was the offensive coordinator, so that was what changed everything.
Got everything fixed, um, for the offense.
And so it's gonna be interesting knowing that we have a much more cemented skiing going forward for the offense going into that game.
But it's gonna be the same thing.
It's gonna be a tough nose grind it out Monday Night football game where both teams are going to score a lot of points and it's gonna be run game for days.
And so, knowing that, I don't know if Minnesota can win that game against that kind of team on the road, if they do it, kind of like what they did against Dallas.
I think everyone is gonna become a believer.
I think that whole game against Dallas that whole game against, you know, the Chiefs were even though we lost.
That was a fantastic game.
The only two games this year where I sat back and said we just absolutely blew it was against the bit was against Green Bay in Chicago.
Every other game has been has been fantastic for the Vikings this year.
They should be nine and two, but they're eight and three, and I'm happy going into the bike.
You have questions again, Feel for you asking.
I'm here to answer questions or, you know, if you want to rip me, if you want to come in ugly, whatever.
This is what this place is for, um, and so you go into the by play Seattle.
Then I believe they play the Lions.
If I'm not mistaken or the Packers, I think it's the lines.
They play the Packers on Christmas, and then they play our Christmas week.
And then they played Barrett's final game of the year and for the Chargers week before or what have you? The schedule gets kind of, you know, we got some wins there.
We have a 10 win team on the horizon as we sit right now.
eight and three Seahawks Tough Chargers.
We should meet the chart.
I don't care where you play the Chargers.
We should beat them.
We're better than them.
The charges are a team that tendencies do not show up playing consistent.
So that's gonna be where that is.
Then you go into charges and you play the lines.
We should be the lines like we're better than the Lions.
Lions are a tough team, but we're better than them in division rivalry.
I understand that they would play the Packers and Bears in our own stadium end of the season.
And that is where it's going to get interesting for us in regards to, especially if we have 10 wins going into the Packer game right after Christmas Eve R right before Christmas Eve on the 23rd.
I believe that's a Monday Night football game as well.
If we go into that game and we have 10 wins and we have a shot toe, win the division in the next two games, it's gonna be fascinating to see our mentality to those games.
Are we gonna play conservative? Are we gonna play kick? But are we gonna play to try and win the division.
Are we gonna play it safe? What are we gonna do in those two games if we have 10 wins going into it for 10 and three, walking into 10 and four, walking into a Packard? What are we gonna look like? You know, What are we gonna look like at that point? Time of the year and knowing everybody's opinion of Kirk cousins knowing everybody's opinion on what is to come for this team and and how they'll play in the playoffs.
We stood all the December as Minnesota.
So beating the bringing, meaning the Broncos today was frustrating.
From the standpoint of the first half was a joke.
We did what we're supposed to in the second half where this was supposed to be a game where you're just supposed to do your job.
You know, I'm a big Notre Dame fan.
I got to play like a champion thing in the background right over there.
You know, right above my head.
Let me get my Let me get my stuff done right there.
And we do what we're supposed to do.
It is Navy left yesterday.
What? 50 to 20? I know this isn't a college football thing when I just want my name out there.
She and Carl Rudolph today, boy, getting that touchdown for big Notre Dame Boy, that that was good stuff.
But see, the Vikings were supposed to come out like the way that Notre Dame team adding his Navy yesterday, Come out, get the job done.
Put bench players in the fourth quarter and call it a night.
Get your turkey, Get your get your Christmas presents to your black Friday shopping.
Come out, play in Seattle and finish the rest of December and go to the playoffs.
That's what the mentality should have been.
But instead they decided, Oh, you know, I got flights scheduled.
I got things ready.
This is what's gonna happen, et cetera.
And the next thing you know, they barely show they don't show up literally.
They had World War two veterans showing up at half time hanging out, and I was like them Dude showed up better than the team than the first them did.
All they have to do is show up, and they already showed up.
Were two vets were going to say what do you do.
You can't do nothing about that.
The team doesn't even show up in the second half and you get inspired.
Maybe maybe the World War two vets walked into the locker room and said, Hey, you guys suck going, show up If you don't get out, you know what I mean.
Got the victory 27 23.
Close it out the end again.
Another nail biter.
Frickin heart racing game at the end.
Just like the Dallas Cowboys game the week before.
But that's what you gotta do.
What? You gotta win this kind of games late as a team if you have destinations of trying to the same chippy chip.
So 15 minutes, nobody asked questions.
Okay, I'm out of here.
I just wanted to get on talk about the Vikings.
That that was a great game.
Uh, second half, great second half terrible, 1st 30 minutes.
But after that, pull their heads out of our butts and we got a victory.
Thanks again for watching everybody and have a good one
