Yo, what's up, guys? This is Jerry Bailey of the Unwrap Sports Network.
So I was gonna start off, obviously to see a score by my head.
You see the title of the stream? Um, I'm not gonna get into everything that happened with, you know, the whole melee at the end, I'm sure.
Heard everybody else on every other network talk about it all day.
But there was a football game that took place.
Um, and I'm not gonna ignore that because and, um, that we need to talk about.
And, um so you see the score above me, And I saw what you guys going into the week.
That was pretty sure I was, I think the browns to win.
Uh, I just think that one I wasn't gonna stick with Pittsburgh could keep riding the streets.
Mason Rudolph a quarterback.
And finally, he just kind of self destructed in the game.
And no, that is ah, what it is.
Ah, take a look at his stats and jotted them down before the stream 23 of 44 to 21.
Touchdown, four picks.
Not exactly gonna get the job done.
Baker, Mayfield, go 17 of 30 to 1 93 2 touchdowns.
Third straight game for Cleveland about a turnover, which is huge for them because that has been a big problem in all of their losses.
So, um, this is big for them.
You look the big number for me.
The Steelers go two of 14 on third and fourth down.
They had zero run game that couldn't third and one situations were the worst coming into the game. They were illegals.
Third are three and 12.
I believe it was three for 12 and, um, third down and 4001 situations, which is worse in the NFL.
And they did a lot worse than that last night.
Is what they couldn't pick up a first down on almost any scenario when it came to third and one.
Um, and that's a problem that needs addressed.
Um, I said it wasn't gonna talk about the melee.
Just stop by the suspension's real quick.
Myles Garrett suspended indefinitely.
Ah, Larry, you can Jobe one game marquees pounds, he gets three games and then both teams find $250,000.
Um, that's pretty much all I'm gonna say about that.
I think this affects Cleveland a lot, though going forward because they haven't.
They now don't have their best pass rusher.
Garret's gone for the rest of the year in the playoffs if they do make it there, so that's a big kicker for them.
Um, it's a big, big loss for Pittsburgh to, um there now, without their starting center is really the quarterback of that offensive line, and they're going to figure that out.
Um, I don't really know who they would put it right now if they go to Finney, um, and play him its center, Um, so we'll see the moves that they make on the effort on the offensive line.
But, oh, if you're a Steelers fan, I wasn't surprised about last night.
I mean, like I said, I thought, Clear room's gonna win.
Um, but the fact that Pittsburgh was in it up until you know, the final eight minutes or so of of the fourth quarter, um, that's the part that hurts me a lot.
Because even with the four interceptions, I guess it was, too, until, like, the final 10 minutes or so.
Me with two turnovers, the defense didn't cause a turnover.
Um, Cleveland's about on third down to say what I think.
Six of 16 on third down on the game.
So they were great.
On third down, Pittsburgh caused quite a few three and outs.
They did give up their first opening drive touchdown of the season.
Ah, Baker, Mayfield.
The one your touchdown rush that came off of the 47 year obsession. Busted Odell Beckham.
Uh, for the most part, I mean, besides that one drive, the Steelers defense kept Cleveland and check in the past game.
No, really other big plays that occurred.
Um, if you're a Steelers fan, though, I think that I know that I was saying all night last night after the second interception, I said, Put in Duck And right now, I just don't think Mason Rudolph is the guy.
I think that Devon Hodges with more comfortable Um, when he was in a quarterback.
I think the offense is more fluent when he was in a quarterback and it just looked better.
Um, and they did that against the Chargers, who I think are a better team in Cleveland.
I think they have a better overall roster than Cleveland.
Um, and the Steelers were able to win that game.
Um, with the defense and Devil Hodges playing smart and I think that is, I think that's maybe they're going to make.
I mean, I've been saying I was saying that all night last night.
I was tweeting it all night last night.
And if they don't want to put it, Devlin Hodges.
If they want somebody else, there's a certain quarterback who's having a workout in Atlanta tomorrow that 24 teams were expected to be at and after what I saw last night from Mason Rudolph 23 44 to 21 touch and four picks.
Better be one of those 24 because going into last night they have the second wild card spot.
They don't have it right now.
Obviously, we'll see how the rest of the weekend plays out.
Um, Oakland currently sits there, Um, and then it's Indianapolis and then Pittsburgh.
But, um, if Indianapolis loses, Pittsburgh, jumps them because of the tie breaker that Pittsburgh has over Indianapolis with the women they have over the Colts.
So Sunday the Steel is gonna become Cincinnati Bengals fans.
They're gonna become Jaguars fans, um, in order to because they need the Raiders. Keep losing.
They need the coats to keep losing.
Now let's replace Cincinnati next week.
The Bangles play the Raiders this week, Um, and I'll talk about each and every game tomorrow, Um, give you a couple screams tomorrow.
So but, um, Mason didn't play well, that's what it comes down to.
Ralph didn't play well, his decision making was bad, and the offense for the Steelers has been the exact same since.
He's become a starting quarterback in light of the Ben Roethlisberger injury.
It's very dip and dunk.
It's rely on the run game, and they don't let him go deep, and you have to be able to push the ball down the field.
If you want to win games, that's what it comes down to.
And the Steelers can't do that.
Uh, Mason Rudolph Ah, do I think that Devlin Hodges is much better? I don't think he's much better, but he's shown more confidence when he came in for Rudolph after the Earl Thomas hitting the Baltimore game earlier this year.
I saw a lot of confidence from him.
He was running all over the place.
He didn't he didn't flinch at all.
He got them down to ER for a scoring drive.
It was running all over the place.
And then in the Chargers game, he look good as well. And they got the win.
So, uh, I don't think Rudolph is the guy.
I think that against Cincinnati they need to put in definite Hodges and give him a start and just see what he can do.
Because we saw waiting to get the charges and he played well.
I think if you just let him swing it a few times, if you want to be more debate, Duncan rely on the run game, especially in Cincinnati, because, you know, they got a bad.
They're just bad everywhere.
So I think that's kind of a good test to see.
What he can do is give him, you know, 45 deep shots, maybe three or four.
I mean, a little bit less of you want to roll on the run game, do a little bit of different dog stuff, have a little bit of decent shots, every living in 10 15 yards downfield.
Just see what happens.
Because Mason Ralph isn't playing well.
Don't let his number.
I mean, he came into last night.
It was 11 touchdowns, four interceptions.
Don't let that because they're not passing the ball a lot now.
It hasn't bought on, futile of, and that is what is really hurting their offense.
They got one of the worst offenses in football, And James Connor James Connor This year has just been so disappointing.
He's injured all the time.
He's only had one really breakout game.
We got 135 yards on a couple touchdowns, but I was against Miami.
James Connor's been disappointing.
Judas Misuse has been disappointing.
Can't really blame that on him, though, because of the quarterback situation.
So you can't really blame Jews You for the year that he's having some got 39 catches on the year so far.
I think you really blame that on him.
But then last night, the reason that I'm still optimistic about a steep, you know, being a Steelers fan, there's a lot of optimism I also took from last night.
Even the Masons have played God awful.
The fact that it was still 14 to nothing and the Steelers were in a position to still make a comeback? Um, a lot of time left, Even after the turnovers missing James Garner missing, um, Dante Johnson missing Judas.
Easter defended their missing all for, you know, those the three biggest weapons on their offense and was still, you know, to possession game.
They made it 14 to 7.
Oh, I think we're on 10 minutes left or so.
Eight minutes left and they were still in it.
Had Mason Rudolph not just turned the ball over some more.
So I think that that's a lot to be optimistic about if your Steelers fan.
Because the fact that Mason Rudolph played so bad, but they were still in it up until about six minutes left when Baker Mayfield through that second touchdown Omega, 21 7 Even then with that thing makes it would've had three interceptions.
At that point, they were still in it, only down by a touchdown.
The defense played great, as it has been all year against all those weapons likely went as on offense.
Odo Beckham only had four catches.
Jarvis Landry did have a touchdown and they kind of let him lose in the red zone.
That was a bad place, but the ground scored on perception.
But in terms of total offense, both teams finished with under 300 yards of total offense.
Steelers on the ground.
So I think that I was to 93 total yards of offense.
I mean, if you're still friend, you take that every every week.
If they can hold. It seemed under 300 yards a week.
The offenses to do their part.
And there's not 27 total offense coming in the week, and they're not getting the job done that something needs to change.
So whether it's putting into cause from this point on, I would start Devil Hodges and then, depending on how Caps workout goes, I'd sign in and keep him there, just in case, because the studios have a real chance to run at the playoffs right now.
I don't have anything to lose.
They don't have a first round pick, you know.
They had a first round pick in people, you know.
They felt, you know, five and 65 and seven ish or six and ***ist.
Then, eventually, people like okay, let's stop trying to, you know, to see what we can do for the draft.
They don't got a first round pick.
And quite frankly, right now, with the way that James Connors played, I would be totally fine if Pittsburgh were to just draft a running back.
Um, I was a travesty.
Tm from Clemson's gonna be there whenever they first draft.
Um, I'll be very surprised of use, Um, but if they were to trade James Connor, that wouldn't break my heart at all.
If they can get some draft picks and maybe a solid depth player somewhere, if they got whether I think Connor, you probably got a two or 34 I don't think he's first round.
I don't think he's worth a first round draft pick.
If they were to trade James Connor and then use whatever draft capital again returned to get a running back that one.
I'd be totally fine with that.
We see how, um, depth filled.
The draft is of running backs.
Every year we saw Nick Shove going to psych around.
He's been a stud since he came out.
He came in the same dress, that sake one mark we did.
We saw Karim Hunt.
I was on 1/4 round pick out a Toledo.
David Johnson wasn't a very high draft pick.
So we see all these stars in the league.
I mean, yeah, we're gonna have Zeke in's sake.
Wanted Todd Gurley who offer a strong picks.
You sure, But it's not the fact that the guys who were drafted later our first round talent just the fact that not everybody needs a running back.
And when you know there's gonna be a ton of them there, you're gonna address other positions that you know are gonna be bigger priorities for every team and then kind of fall back on that running back spot in the later rounds.
That's what we're seeing.
So that's where we're did.
Even if they rely on Benny Snow more, I would love to see Benny Snell get more carries.
Obviously, the runningback core has been depleted this year, though, because now I think it's nails hurt.
Jalen Sam has been hurt.
James Connor's been earlier.
They've had to turn to Trey Edmunds.
Um um seals James Or, um, I can't remember the running backs name.
Um, but they brought guys up from practice squads, and it's just the running game has been abysmal.
for Pittsburgh, so I wouldn't be upset it all.
If you know this offseason they were to weigh their options and say, Look, we'll trade James Connor for some draft capital If we can get a two of four and a seven, I don't think James comes with all that, though.
I think that if there were multiple draft picks, I feel like it would be maybe a three, a six and then a solid player.
No depth player.
Um, but there are train James Garner.
I want to be opposed to it whatsoever and then draft running back that stop Jalen Samuel James Sanders has been perfect for filling in for James Garner.
Trey Edmunds is look good whenever whenever he's got just Benny smells like good whenever he's got touches.
So I mean Samuels and Snail, I would want Snow to be more of the future back.
I think he's just, um, he's got more speed to in the jail in sandals.
Does I think Jalen Sam was a better receiving back then, Many snow.
So I think that could kind of be a running back by a committee there and then Trey Edmunds working, you know, 5 to 6 touches a game.
But if this offseason never trade, James Conner wouldn't break my heart at all.
And then they tried to drop for more hyper high profile running back.
Or even if they just kept guys they had, you know, they were just say all right.
We'll just have an open competition does.
He was gonna be the number one running back between Jalen Samuels and Benny Snow.
James Connor hasn't done much senses.
Pro Bowl here When Levy on Bell sat out that year.
What if we're from James Garner? Not a whole lot.
This is It is what it is.
So I would not be ashamed at all if they moved on from James Garner.
Other thing they need to.
D'oh! Made some receivers.
Judy's are the answer.
Johnson Welcome. Got concussions.
James Washington solid.
Oh, then that they had Tevin Jones, who's brought from the practice squad.
The advancement Donald playing receiver. J.
Wants Ava playing receiver, um, so they need to go out and signed as Bryant.
That's what I would do right now.
I'll go sign Dez Bryant.
Um, I think that they need a better veteran presence in that locker room and does has been on winning teams Does, knows what it takes to win.
Um, can be a little bit, um, Diva ish at times.
Um, that said, though, I think that they need a veteran leader in that locker room, and I think that he would be the guy to sign right now.
He's the best wide receiver on the market.
Um, I wanted them to sign another running back, but J J J I would been the one that I saw him. He was recently Philadelphia.
It's incredible that he wasn't signed, like throughout the year. That blows my mind.
Um, so I think that they should sign Dez Bryant as well, um, or even bring like a guy like Mike Wallace.
But who is? This was Pete the chat room? Quick Boston Belle.
Appreciate the tips, my man.
Appreciate the tokens.
Also, we got me comment strapping men, the comments.
We could have a little conversation here if you agree or disagree with anything I'm saying.
So I tweeted it out earlier.
I mean a recap of what they need to do.
They need to one start Devane, Hodges and sign Colin Kaepernick to sign Dez Bryant.
Three draft running back trade James Garner Because he's been a bung this year.
He hasn't played well because that offensive line is one of the best in football.
Marcus Bouncy, great center to cash for a great guard.
Villanueva solid left tackle Matt Filer stepped in, says Marcus Gilbert.
Levees been a solid, UM, rights ankle.
I love their offensive lineman.
It's good they just need.
And they need help at the skill position because Mason Rob isn't the answer.
Put in Devil Notches.
Zangana Kaepernick, Dr James Gone Zain.
Dez Bryant It's absolutely phenomenal.
You know, we know how amazing makeup Fitzpatrick's been.
He's my front runner for defensive player of the year.
We know a great T J.
Watts Been, but the priest played well. Camera have.
Let's play, well, secondaries look good. Joe Hayden. Steven.
Now some Steve Nelson did allow that long past todo back home last night.
Um, other than that, he's been a phenomenal signing for them, a solid number two corner that they have.
So I love everything that they're doing on defense, and this is the for the first time in a long time for Pittsburgh where the script is kind of flipped because for years it was our We're gonna rely on Big Ben Levy on Belle and Tony around the win games will put up 35 points a game.
The defense would.
We just got to hope that they only allow 34.
And this is the first time in a very long time since May be Super Bowl.
43 are the suitable 45 year.
They went to the Super Bowl in loss of Green Bay, where they have a defense that they can rely on.
They have their most explosive safety sent story.
They've been absolutely phenomenal on defense, second in the NFL, takeaways only to New England.
That evens is fine, but Mason rough, isn't it? He ain't that dude.
James Connor heard too much.
He got three solid guys behind him, training for some draft capital signed as Bryant.
That's the formula now and then.
Next year, when it now there's Are there some speculation saying that Ben Roethlisberger? Um no, his injury is quite serious.
Opposition isn't the season, so it's pretty serious.
But this is like Adam Schefter saying there's no guarantee that is gonna be back next year.
So that's gonna be a developing story that we look at going forward.
And I think that's where common Cabinet comes into play as well.
Because Mason Robin Devlin hunters ain't the answer.
None of them are.
There's none of those guys on that Russian. None of the answer.
For long term wise, at least Captain ah guy, who's been the backs about Honesty Championship NFC championship games, was a throw away from winning.
Super Bowl has one of the most dynamic performance is an NFL playoff history all under his belt and the last year that he played at 18 total touchdowns, only four interceptions.
That was top five in Q B r.
I would trust that over anything Pittsburgh eyes right now.
And that's what I'm saying.
Start, Hodges, don't throw captain of the Fire right away.
It's gonna take some time, obviously, to learn the system and get everything um, ready.
Kind of like the 40 Niners David, Jimmy Garoppolo.
Whenever they tried to form a few years ago, they brought him in, and I think it took him, like, two weeks to three weeks until he started him.
If that's what they gotta do, that's what they got to do.
And the rest of their schedule.
They can afford to do that.
They play Cincinnati next week.
They got Buffalo, Arizona, another game with Cincinnati, another game with the Browns in a couple weeks, another game against Baltimore and the Jets.
So they got Cincinnati this coming week and then Cleveland the week after.
If they were to sign Cap, you know, after a workout would say they signed on Monday.
That gives him They can start how they could start Rudolph or Hodges. It doesn't matter.
They should beat Cincinnati, and I guess I'm a fool.
Two weeks to prepare.
And if they say cap looks good, we feel like he gives us the best chance to win.
Give Colin Kaepernick the start and see what happens against Cleveland because one, we're already seeing the amazing things that Lamar Jackson is doing with his feet.
Colin Kaepernick was Lamar Jackson before Lamar Jackson.
Give him the ball and see what happens.
How's his mind? Take on it.
What we got here in the chat right now.
Boston Belle and Messy Best.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
So just a recap of my Steeler fan anxiety going up.
I want them band Mason, Rudolph, start Devane Hodges next week against Cincinnati.
Sign Colin Kaepernick.
You know, depending on how this workout goes, huge accident Joe Philbin.
I'm gonna be the two in charge of it.
If the If the work goes well, sign him.
Give him a couple weeks to prepare.
Let hiders a Rudolph started the Cincinnati game Next Cleveland game.
Put captain at the very latest put him in, and three weeks have been Cincinnati game.
No, they play after this and after the Browns, I'm gonna keep that real quick because that is important.
I want to say they play the bills after the Browns and I could be wrong.
And then the second last week.
I know that they play the Jets because they play the Jets.
My birthday, in case you're wondering.
So they got as Cincinnati home for Cleveland and then the week after that, okay, the week after that, they played the Cardinals in Arizona.
I would very much enjoy seeing Colin Kaepernick versus Kyla. Mary.
That would make me happy.
I think that would be one.
I think that's another spot where Colin, Kaepernick and land and you're gonna get another, Um, whenever Colin does get signed or after this workout tomorrow, I'm going to do a stream that talks more about that.
Um, but right now, let's just say that the seals do sign him.
I say at the very latest you start him against Arizona and I give them games against the Cardinals, Bills, Jets, Ravens close out the year.
And that last game in Baltimore is gonna be John or MUS.
I want Colin Kaepernick taking the snap over Devil Hodges and Mason Rudolph.
A guy who's been there, done that, played in the Super Bowl, winning back to back Tennessee championship games.
I want him having the ball after a few weeks to prepare.
You kind of get familiar with the system.
I want him with the ball.
I don't want devil.
How does it make smeared over the ball? I'll take Devon Holiday's over. Mason Rudolph.
I don't want either one with the ball of the conch Africa.
That's just my take on it.
So if you agree with me, if you disagree with me, um I know We really talked about the Steelers a lot.
Any time I do. Kind of a Steeler game. Bogus.
John, I'm gonna talk about the Steelers.
Gonna Steeler fan.
It was a big one for Cleveland now four and six.
Now they still have the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL.
So as people what? The rest of their schedule looks like an order.
Um, because another sitting at four and six still alive in the wild card race they play.
Would you look at that? They host the dolphins, Um, on November 24th.
So that'll be next Sunday.
They host Miami and then travel on the road to Pittsburgh.
I think the Steelers do you get that game back? Um, so, I mean, if we're projecting records right now, I think clearly be five and six loose.
Pittsburgh five and seven.
Beat Cincinnati six and seven.
Um, I can expand the rest of their schedule six and seven after the other game against the Bangles.
Now, the game against the Cardinals.
I talked about this a few weeks ago in the stream.
That game could go either way.
Right now, the cardinals look good going into Arizona.
I'm gonna pick the Cardinals to win that game, so I think they'll be around six and eight.
They play Baltimore again, Um, and then Cincinnati again.
So they could be anywhere between to me eight and eight and six and 10.
But I think the best they could do this year's eight and eight.
I don't think nine and seven is gonna happen cause I'm picking the car most to beat them.
Kyla Marie and that offenses keep looking better and better each week.
Ah, they look good against the 40 Niners they look good against, Um, that doesn't keep getting better by the week.
They look really good last week, even in the loss to Tampa Bay.
Basically put an entire game together and get some wins.
So I think that Cleveland they just started getting going a little too late. That Denver game.
I think we're gonna look back on that and say that's where he got him because if they do finish ate and ate that game against Denver nine and seven, that game could make the ultimate difference now in terms of Pittsburgh or I see them going.
There's currently sitting at five and five.
I think they beat Cincinnati.
Go six and five.
I think they get that win back against the Browns.
Seven and five else Do I think they'll win three straight, though That mean that is, did it? Maybe they do it again.
So maybe they'll be sitting at eight and five because I think they would be the Kardashian because of their defense.
Excuse me, I think.
I just believe in Pittsburgh's defense more.
And then they host the Bills.
Maybe that's where they could get a loss.
Even though I don't trust the Bills offense, their defense is good.
So in reality, though, I only see the Steel was losing a max of two games the rest of the year.
The worst I see Pittsburgh going is nine and seven.
Now the game against the Jets.
I feel like that's one that they could lose.
They always have a, you know, flute game.
Or do that. They lose that.
They shouldn't when they get rolling, that could be one of them, and historically they haven't played well in New York against the Jets or Giants.
So I think that could be a game that they lose.
And obviously, Baltimore, I think that's a game that they could very well lose, um, last week of the season.
But I'm confident that I could beat Buffalo and the Cardinals paid off their defense alone.
Um, well, bills on their defense alone.
Cardinals is have a bad defense.
So I think that the officer put up points pound who the quarterback is, but I think they beat Cincinnati.
I think they get this game back against Cleveland.
I only been Brown's going to sweep them in a year.
I don't see it happening so but we'll see what happens As time goes on, You catch me tomorrow.
I'll give you a college football stream after the early games.
Maybe before there are other games to, we'll talk about the college football playoff.
Um, you want to join me for that? Let's have a little conversation, Philip. The chat.
Ask me any questions that you want about the college football playoff with.
My projections are even just comments.
What, you guys think we could talk about it? It could be a little bit of fun if we do that in the morning for the noon games.
Even um, Penn State plays Indiana tomorrow.
We'll see how that goes down.
And now we got Michigan, Michigan State tomorrow. That's a big game.
So we can preview all that.
We could talk about the college football playoff and then, um, later on in the day as well.
I'll give you, um, the Sunday slate in the Monday night game.
I'll give you all my picks and then fantasy advice as well.
So busy day for me.
Tomorrow you hear from me a lot.
Get two or three streams in and we'll talk all things football.
So I am Jared Bailey from the unwrap sports number eight.
Thank you for joining me.
You're a lot from you tomorrow.
So be sure to join me right here on SportsCastr live. Thanks for listening.
