any time the Patriots are on a bye week, it feels like a little piece of me is missing.
But they're finally back this week, and they will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles and whether the Philly fans like it or not, I have no doubt in my mind that the Patriots are gonna walk into the length, have their way with the Eagles and head back to New England with their ninth win of the season.
It's not that difficult, and it comes down to three things.
Stop the Eagles.
Tight ends, stop the run and exhaust the Eagles defense.
Some of this may seem easier said than done, but it really isn't and the Patriots have the personnel.
They have the coaching to get the job done.
So for anybody in Pats Nation, that may be nervous.
Don't be because, to quote one ring, Lane Johnson, it's gonna be a fun day at the link.
What's going on, everybody? It's your boy rate and welcome to my little show here on D P n.
So I don't know about the rest of fascination, but I am just the boat done hearing about super Bowl 52.
I am just about done watching the Eagle fans living in the past, pretending like they're still the cream of the crop.
The measuring stick of the NFL.
Because they're not.
Because ever since Super Bowl 52 despite not having fun, the Patriots have won another championship and I'm over it.
They may be living in the past, Patriot fans are living in the present, and the present is There is a game this Sunday, and it's a big game for both teams.
The Patriots, obviously a win, keeps them in control and grasping the A F c, ensuring that the A F C Championship game runs through New England.
For the Eagles, this is playoff implications.
The Dallas Cowboys have allowed Philadelphia have hope have allowed the Eagles to hang around, and because of that, they're probably gonna be playing pretty hard against the Patriots on Sunday.
So instead of talking about Super Bowl 52 instead of talking about the Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Nick Foles, instead of talking about a filly special, how will? But we talk about how the Patriots will win this Sunday.
As I said in my intro comes down to three things.
Stop the tight ends.
Stop the run, Exhaust the defense.
So, look, the Eagles defense.
We know it to Sean Jackson out for the season.
Alshon Jeffery is questionable, Miss Practice on Wednesday, and I'm expecting Carson Wentz to use his tight ends.
I'm expecting him to go to his favorite targets, and the Ravens did a pretty decent job Week nine against the Patriots use in their tight ends, and I'm sure that the Eagles have tried to zero in on that.
Now, look, before you go any further, I got it.
I got to admit things.
I gotta be honest.
I gotta be straight up.
I'm a fan of Zach Kurds.
Okay, He's athletic.
He's got a nose for the ball.
He's really everything that you want in a tight end.
And that is the reason that Carson went has targeted Earth's more than any other team this season.
Earth has the number one receiving yards for the Eagles, the number one receiving touchdowns for the Eagles.
Swords has the most targets, the most yards, the most touchdowns.
So it's pretty predictable with the way the offenses going who went is gonna turn to when the ball's in his hand.
Now for the Patriots to defend this, they gotta remember that Dallas good IRT go Dirt is pretty good as well, and Earth's isn't the only issue.
The good news for the Patriots is it's a pretty simple solution.
Just bottle up the tight ends and you take away the Eagles offense.
Look stuff on Gilmore.
Jason McCord, E J. C. Jackson.
They'll handle the man's man responsibilities with wide receivers.
I'm expecting to see some safety help of Patrick Chung of Iran. Harmon.
I'm expecting to see a Jonathan Jones taking care of the tight ends, and you can even see some linebacker help.
Maybe like a Jamie Collins.
If I was designing some sort of defense to stop these, why are these tight ends? I might do a linebacker to secondary handoff.
I get a guy like, I don't know John Simon.
Maybe Hightower Vanoy, right, Jim.
The tight ends at the line of scrimmage.
Slow him down, take a second way off the route, and then a cornerback Rous.
Safety can take over the coverage, but I'm telling you right now, taking away Carson Wentz favorite outlet taken away, the guy that he likes to turn to the most.
Having the secondary lock down the wide receivers.
It's going to completely change the game plan for the Eagles, and that's why Number two on this list is very important.
And that's stopping.
The Eagles run now.
The Patriots defense is, I think, unfairly getting a bad reputation of not being able to stop the run.
We all know that the Buffalo Bills ran the ball on them.
Nick Cha brand the ball on them when they played Cleveland.
And, of course, Ingram and Lamar Jackson ran the ball when they face the Ravens Week nine.
The Eagles offensive line are great run blockers.
I'm going to give the Eagles any credit.
They're great run blockers.
And I am expecting a heavy diet of run coming from Philly.
But one thing that people need to remember is Jordan Howard in Mile Sanders are not Nick Chubb.
They're not Ingram.
They're not Jackson.
Yeah, you got a good offensive line.
But look, the Patriots, all they got to do is make sure that they don't let him into those secondary runs.
Stop them two or three yards that's it, because stopping the run just like taking with the tight end, will completely mess up Phillies game plan.
And this is where, like guys like John Simon in Atlanta, Robert, you need to stop up the new TV to stay in their lanes because we're such good blockers.
Let the front three disrupt the line.
Stay in the lane, stop the running back.
It's gonna be important for the for guys like Simon.
Guys like Hightower Van Noy set the edge.
When you're on the outside, this could be a game that chase wind of it gets a little bit more playtime.
No extra yardage.
Force wants to throw the ball because you're gonna take away the tight ends, Which means their game plan is gonna be right out the window.
The only way that the Patriots could find themselves in trouble.
And I mean, I don't expect this, but the Onley way that I see them in trouble is if Philly is able to run a balanced offense and I just don't see that coming, that's just my opinion.
And lastly, the Patriots offense all they have to do is exhaust the Eagles defense.
Look, I loved the Patriots.
No huddle against the Ravens.
I've talked about it a few times.
It's somewhat disrupted the Ravens blitz.
It really made the blood sort of ineffective near the end of the game.
I know they got the Brady a couple of times, but it could have been a lot worse, especially with the offensive line being such a mess.
The Eagle secondary is a hot mess, and Tom Brady and sinew and Adelman they can easily, easily expose this week asked past defense by the Eagles.
We can't discount to their front seven is pretty good.
They're pretty good at stopping the run and they can get to the pastor.
They love the blitz, so you know that they're gonna be all over Tom Brady.
So no rest would be significant to weakening and stopping the blitz.
The no huddle offense.
Getting your proper matchups foreseen the Eagles to get into zone defense is is gonna be key.
The no huddle will do two things. It will exhaust.
The defense will also open up the run game.
We saw it against Baltimore Every time Baltimore went into his own defense.
The Patriots ran the ball down their throat now I think the Patriots combined only ran the ball 17 times, but they came close to 100 yards on the 17 rushes for the game.
All the running backs were averaging like 4.
3 runs per game.
And I think that they could be able to run the ball better, especially if they force him into that zone to get the matchups.
As soon as they see a matchup in the running that no huddle, they're just going to expose it.
Don't change your personnel.
The Ravens are the Eagles can't change their personnel, and you could completely expose it.
I would like to see the patrons run the ball 30 to 35 times.
I talked about it this week.
10 carries each for the running backs.
Five misdirection plays.
Get all three involved in the past game, even if you aren't throwing them the ball.
Don't tip your hand, too.
When you're running, spread it out evenly and you'll be good.
And I have absolutely no concern about the past game.
Brady Adelman into new.
They're gonna hold things down.
They're going to expose that that week week passed defense and it's gonna be phenomenal and again, like I said, I have. Absolutely.
There's nothing in my head that tells me the Patriots won't win this game and I'm seeing Patriot fans throwing out scores like 34 10 that kind of thing.
And usually I tell them, Look, don't get too crazy with scores, but I think it's gonna be a high scoring game on one side, low scoring on the other side.
I can't wait for the Boogie Men to be back into form, and I can't wait to see how this offense looks.
I hope Nikkila Harry is on the field.
I can't wait to see Mohammed Sunu two weeks into the patriotsoffense.
It's gonna be a good time at the Lake, Man.
That's what I said.
It's going to be a good time at the link.
It's just not gonna be a good time for the Philadelphia Eagles.
What's going on? Everybody, thank you for coming in.
Do not go anywhere.
I may be done talking about what, the three the reason way the pages are gonna beat the Eagles.
But I still got some more stuff I want to talk about.
I want to talk about the fact that Alex Guerrero is saying that Tom Brady thinks that he complained to these 46 or 47 years old.
Now, I also want to mention that Tom Brady finally beefed up McKeel Harry a little bit explained why he didn't and it makes total sense.
As we all know, on Saturday, calling Kaepernick will be doing his public workout for NFL scouts.
The Patriots are one of the teams scouting them, but right now the Steelers are amongst the favorites to sign them.
And I believe that that could actually be a good fit for Colin Kaepernick and the Steelers.
And besides the Patriots and Eagles, I mean, the marquee matchup of this week has to be to Shawn Watson versus Lamar Jackson.
Or, I guess, if you're fans of the team, the Houston Texans versus the Baltimore Ravens, that's what I got to talk about today.
If you're watching the live on SportsCastr, please, by all means to non in, Let's have it shot asked me some questions.
I'll be all over it.
We'll have some fun, all right.
So I don't know if you guys saw this story today, but Alex grabs coming out, and he's saying that Tom Brady now believes that he can play till 46 or 47 years old.
The magic number for Tom Brady's retirement has always been 45.
The argument? You're not the argument, but we've always said that I mean, his 45th year.
Does that mean when he turns 45 in his 46 year? We were never quite sure, but we had a timeline when Tom Brady believed he was done.
Now, despite the talking heads who are consistently trying to get themselves some clout, get themselves, um, clicks, trying to make themselves look Maur important.
And they really are.
Tom Brady has not declined in the slightest.
I mean, what, is he slower now? Then he used to, because Tom Bradys always sort of run like a newborn giraffe.
So it's not like the athleticism is gone away.
His arm doesn't look weaker to me.
He looks just is precise.
And when he's not being precise, I mean, why don't how about we stop saying, Look, he's throwing it lower, overthrowing it or getting rid of the ball too quickly or he's seeing ghosts he ain't seeing ghost.
The Patriots offensive line has been absolutely horrible this season.
Marshall Newhouse couldn't block me if I was trying to catch a Tom Brady Shack.
Mason has taken a step back this season.
He needs to get it together.
They're playing without their center David Andrews.
No, Todd Cares has done a fine job, but he's not Divan Andrews.
I think that we need to get past this point that Tom Brady's declining or missing passes, the guys running for his life and trying to just get rid of the ball before he gets killed.
But it's amazing to me that Tom Brady now believe that he could play to these 46 or 47 years old, and I think that has to bring the question of this.
Will build Ballot Shack.
Have the patience to hang on till Tom Brady with Patil to Tom Brady until he's 47 years old.
Will Tom Brady be good when he's 47 years old? Look, the fan boy in me that Tom Brady, you know, groupie, whatever you want to call me that guy in me says Ops, a freakin lutely.
Tom Brady will completely is 95 if he wants is always gonna be good.
The reality is, though, we don't even know if he's gonna be good next season, right? We don't know year by year what it's gonna look like.
That's why I think the Patriots are taking a wait and see sorta look with his contract.
That's why I think that Tom Brady's not worried about his contract because the Patriots have never been in this situation before.
They've never had, like a $20 million.
43 year old quarterback, 42 year old quarterback, 44 45 46 47.
It's I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Tom Brady to play till he's 47 years old.
But we can't sit here.
What? That's five years from now.
You know what I mean? Like, this is worse Word.
Not talking that next year we're talking still years down the road.
If Tom Brady was competing at the level that he is till he's 47 I mean his Patriot fans.
That just means that the Patriots are favorites year in and year out.
But my thing is, is, I think if you're the GM of this team, which is Bill Belichick.
Obviously, you have to be a little cautious.
Look, at what point do you build for the future? Your quarterback is.
Thinks he can play, please, almost 50 years old.
I mean, that's that would take a set of stones, man.
It really would.
It would take a set of stones.
E mean, I don't even really know what more to say about that.
Besides, it would take your side of Stones 22 Hold on to a quarterback to these 47 years old Bullets faces.
If anybody can do it, it's Tom Brady.
Now we're obviously gonna have to wait year in and year out to sea when Tom Brady finally calls it a career.
Right now, I don't want to think about it.
Tom Brady's our quarterback.
He's playing at Tom Brady levels.
That's all that really matters.
But one guy that we've had a lot of things to say about one thing that a lot of people have been talking about questioning Baba Baba Block has been our man to kill Harry, and the biggest question is, will not kill Harry play against the Eagles.
This Tom Brady Trust me kill Harry.
I think some of us have been reading into what Tom Brady's been saying about Harry.
I've seen a lot of things on Twitter.
People talking about on a keel hair.
You know, Tom Brady doesn't trust them.
Look what he's saying about Mohammed Sunu.
I bought into that guy's eye put out.
You know, the stream I talked about.
My streaming was last week where a lot of people got mad at me when I said We need to lower the exp affectations in the keel Harry, we can't put them through the roof.
Probable, but, well, Tom Brady start starting with about to kill Harry.
He kind of gets called out in question on why you beat not Mohammed Sunu.
Why are you praising Nikkila? Harry, What's wrong with the Kill Harry Yadi idea? And then Tom Brady calls him special.
Today, Tom Brady calls him aware course a beast of this and that.
And then the reason he's been sort of downplaying the killer.
He makes a lot of sense, he says.
I think it's unfair to come to me and ask out to kill Harry is doing.
If you want to know how he's feeling they're saying or how he's progressing and practice, go talk to Harry, Brady said.
It be unfair for me to put expectations on him that aren't fair.
One thing that we do on this team is manage expectations, and we know that the Patriots do that.
We know one of the things the Patriots are famous for is managing the expectations of their teams, their players, their coaches, all that kind of stuff.
Bill Belichick is nothing away.
He's taught his players to give nothing away.
And when I saw that, I felt a lot better about McKeel.
Harry and I can almost there say that it raised my expectations for Nick Eel.
It almost brought me to the point where I'm excited to watch him play that maybe he will be a bigger impact than I have anticipated over the last week and 1/2.
Obviously, Bill, I'm never going to know until you play the kid.
So can you please just play him so that we can stop all of the speculation and just start focusing on what he can actually accomplish? Right, Right, Right.
So it makes total sense.
Makes just a ton of sense to me that Tom Brady has been downplaying the kid and what he can do and bubble bubble block. Good for Brady.
Very happy for Brady.
Very happy for you Kill Harry.
I'm getting really excited about what this team can do now.
Any time Call and Kaepernick comes up in a conversation, it ignites debates.
Um, I've been on Facebook this week watching Patriot fans debating the whole calling Kaepernick thing.
Should it be a Patriot? Shouldn't be a patriot.
I stayed out of the debate.
I'm staying out of it tonight, but it's definitely a controversial player, and I can see both sides of the argument.
I can see why people believe he'll help the Patriots.
I can see why people believe he wouldn't help the Patriots.
I can see both sides of the argument.
I'm really undecided about what what Colin Kaepernick could do for the Patriots.
What I could see him doing is being a good scout team quarterback for the Patriots.
I mean, I don't think at this point we're looking at him being the future starter.
I don't even know if they're looking at Jared.
Stick him to be the future starter, but there's no way that Kaepernick is on ballot checks, radar or nixes areas.
Radar that you know.
Okay, let's sign Kaepernick because, you know he's unease the future of the Patriots.
But he could be a good scout team, especially when they're facing teams like Houston.
If they gotta play Baltimore again, play the you know the Bills again against Josh Allen any time they gotta play.
Ah, Mobile quarterback, that's where Captain.
It could really be a good piece for them.
But the favorite's coming out of this.
I don't know, workout or whatever you wanna call it seems to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Now I wonder if they lose tonight.
And then the last time I checked, they were alive.
When I stopped watching before I came on, it was half.
They were losing 14 to nothing.
Ah, lost Tonight with almost surely knocked the steel.
The hill would be too high for the Steelers to climb.
They lost Schuster tonight, you know, juju to ah, a concussion.
And maybe at this point it was.
But earlier today they were the favorites to sign Kaepernick outside of this workout, and when I thought about it, I thought you know Pittsburgh is probably the perfect situation.
Calling Kaepernick number one Mike Tom and will do anything to kiss his team's ass is or kisses players.
Ass is we know he's a player's coach.
We know that Mason Rudolph is okay.
He's not a great quarterback.
We're seeing everything tonight in Cleveland.
We're seeing that this team is okay.
They've dealt with guys like Antonio Brown.
Ben Roethlisberger has a bigger ego than people like to talk about that Steelers dressing room.
When you look at a B, I'll be James Harrison.
Big Ben, Tom it himself.
It's been a dysfunctional dressing room, so why not bring in calling Kaepernick? It's not like it can make in any more dysfunctional, and he might just fit right in.
And look, I'm not against Cap.
I think it's bull that he's not playing in the NFL.
He's better than most people playing.
I also realize that my stake in the game was a lot smaller.
He's not kneeling for my anthem, so I get it.
Like I get both sides of the argument.
I'm not gonna argue whether Kaepernick should be playing football or not.
I believe you should be, But I also get the skin of the skin that I have in the game is much different than people who are born, raised and loved the United States of America.
I don't even know if Kaepernick gets signed.
Teams have had a lot of opportunities to bring him in for a workout.
A part of me believes this is just the NFL covering their, you know, thereby predict doesn't get signed.
Roger Goodell can turn around.
Say, Hey, I put a workout on for the kid.
Nobody wanted him, but we're not stupid.
Roger. We know this is a face thing.
We know this is so you can turn around and say Colin Kaepernick is not being blackballed by the NFL when you **** right.
But if anybody was gonna break the blackball, if anybody was going to actually do something to help this team or help this kid play like hell, it would have to be the Steelers, because I don't know what other organization he really fits, so I have to see.
So as you all know, ts more night all our Saturday night, I'll give my weekly predictions are not giving a prediction on this game, but I want to talk a little bit about the Houston Texans visiting the Baltimore Ravens.
As they said in my intro, Besides the Patriots game this weekend, this is my marquee matchup of the week I want.
I can't wait to watch this game.
I'm so happy they're not playing at the same time, so I can sit back and enjoy it.
Houston is six and three there, first in the A F C South, the Ravens or seven, and to their first in the A F C North.
A win by Houston improves them to seven and three drops Baltimore to seven and three, makes the second place and the buy a little closer.
It also makes the game against Houston and the Patriots and two weeks mean a little bit more.
Especially when you start getting the tiebreakers and all that kind of stuff.
And we're also watching to Shawn Watson going up against Lamar Jackson.
Guys who can run the ball, pass the ball absolutely, positively.
It's gonna be, I think, a great game almost identical.
There's a little lopsided, but it's pretty good.
I don't think it's gonna be amazing when you look at a guy like to Shawn Watson.
Point up his stats On the season he's ran the ball 52 times for 279 yards.
He's averaging 5.
37 yards per Ronnie's grand bawling for five touchdowns.
He's completed 212 passes.
He's got a 70% completion rate.
He's got a pass, a rating of 107.
1 24 100 yards on the year.
In any other year, that doesn't have Russell Wilson.
Maybe Lamar Jackson.
He's probably, Ladies and gentlemen, your M V P.
And yet you flip over to Lamar Jackson and you look at this kid stats and it's just absolutely sickening.
He's rushed the ball for 702 yards this season, averaging 6.
62 yards per run, six rushing touchdowns.
He averages 11 rushes per game, but it's also got 2000 yards on the year.
He's also for 15 touchdowns.
The kid's got a one a 1.
7 passer rating.
I mean, we're watching a battle of two great young, and I think what we're watching today is the next Brady Manning you know, everybody waited and look forward to the Brady Manning rivalry.
We wanted to see that game, and I think what we're going to see is the start of this rivalry.
There's probably look, there's just like Brady.
Manning is going to be healthy respect.
But I think Houston fans are gonna hate Lamar.
I think Raven fans are gonna hate the Shawn.
It's gonna be really interesting to see the Ravens, obviously because of their rush attack, have Maura offensive yards per game.
They're averaging 421 yards per game.
That's good for second in the league, But they're going up against the fourth best yard defense in the league with 3 96 on the other side with Houston now, obviously, the run game.
He's got like 600 yards on the year.
He's got eight touchdowns.
The guy is a stud on the run game, averaging 197.
2 yards per game Between their you know, Lamar Jackson and and Mark Ingram. All that almost.
You know, we're talking almost 200 yards of rushing per game.
They got the advantage on the passing side, though, it's it's It's, um, Houston, Houston's 12th and league on passing passing yards.
Baltimore is actually 20th in the league, right, so Watson's averaging 253.
9 yards per game in the passing game.
He's also got DeAndre Hopkins, who's caught.
He's been targeted what, 92 times this season has got 665 yards.
He's averaging 9.
78 yards per average, four touchdowns better than the rookie marquees Brown, at least for this season.
Guys, it's going to be points.
Yep, the Ravens are getting more points, but the defense's are almost identical.
Third down percentage is identical.
It's gonna be a have you.
It's gonna be a great game.
When you look at their defense is Houston's defense yards per game ranked 19th Baltimore 14th passing yards.
Houston 29 Rushing yards Uses 1/3 best Russian defense in the league.
Baltimore's tied for seventh points per game.
15 tied for 15th in the league, tied for 13th separated by 0.
2 points per game.
Full teams averaging 21 points per game.
Houston 21 point to Baltimore, 21 third down.
Percentages used to give up a little bit more so really.
The advantage leans to the sides off leaves to the side of Baltimore.
But it's gonna be a fun game to watch, man and not to game.
I cannot wait to watch.
It's a game I can't wait to see.
I think it's gonna be phenomenal.
