Hey, welcome on in everybody.
My name is Chris Morris, and I do the Hoopers log in the lead sports media dot com.
It's a basketball website, and I generally have been doing podcasts for the last Oh, you know, five years.
Generally, six years now, about 2013 I've been doing podcasts in the sports casting world.
Yeah, it's been about six years.
As of now, I was a co host on a show, and I was I've been a host of a show for a very long time now, and, uh, yeah, so I I do this now on a regular basis is another stream.
I figured I'd just get it out of the way, but this is the I'm not really gonna talk about the Notre Dame Navy game because it's not as big of a game.
But it is one of the few ranked games in the college football landscape this weekend, a game that does not mean anything in regards to what's going to happen in the college football playoff.
That's not that's that's not why I put it there, but I'm a diehard Notre Dame fan like my my wife is actually a diehard Notre Dame fan.
I just you know, when we went to when we went to the ER, the game, we went to the USC Notre Dame game about a month ago and we were there.
We were watching the game, and I've never been.
It's absolutely beautiful campus.
I mean, we drove around Mishawaka, Indiana.
We drove around and saw everything that was going on, and it was real exciting time.
I had never been to Indiana in my life, and I've never been to an Indiana event.
And so ah, ah, Notre Dame event and so going there and go to the pep rally, going to the stadiums and everything and walk around and seeing all the events on campus reminded me of when I went to college.
Notre Dame reminded me a lot of where I went to college, and it was really fantastic and really fun altogether.
And, uh, I mean, I'm just I'm just I've been a fan, you know, before then, obviously have been a fan since I met my wife, which was back in 2015 really.
2014 was when we started watching Ah, Notre Dame regularly, and so ah, that was when I started becoming a fan.
And ever since then I've had a good time.
And so I don't know why Cams here, cameras.
You're supposed to move in the pot.
The postgame show.
Probably live. Chat me here in a moment.
But anyway, um, one top college football for a little bit here because this is really been a sport that I have just I have just been in love with Honestly, ever since I went to college, I'd say even since probably my senior year of high school, Actually, since I went to college, it was about 9 4010 That was when I died.
Oh, it's done here.
You're too the postgame show Cam.
All right. Whatever.
I would say it's probably past your bedtime, but I'm not gonna judge anyway.
Start college football here.
We got a whole bunch of the game isn't done.
What you talking about? Oh, he's probably doing the post game for you doing the post game for Golden State and, uh, in Lakers.
Is that the one? If that's the one that I understand, or unless you're doing Minnesota Spurs which would be hilarious, because obviously you would do that because my spurs are getting their ass kicked right now.
Anyway, I said as on a thing that I'm not supposed to do.
Oh, you're doing that yet? You're doing the wolves spurt you, you ****head.
Anyway, um, okay, college football, Right, Navy.
Notre Dame is happening.
I'm not gonna talk about the game big time, but let me just say this.
I'll mention it real quick, and then I'll go into the bigger game because there's way bigger games this weekend.
Obviously. Last week's game with Notre Dame.
Excuse me, Alabama.
L s U was an absolute fantastic.
Unbelievable. Fantastic football.
Um, but Navy Notre Dame is gonna be fun.
From the standpoint of you see a lot of running scheme, you're gonna see a lot of option.
You're gonna see a lot of great great offensive overall, uh, running the football power run, getting it done in Notre Dame.
Obviously, at that time a year, the leaves are falling.
It's middle of middle of middle of fall, and it's the middle of November.
It's gonna be cold up in Indiana.
It's gonna be cold of itself.
Then, um, and knowing that and being there and we went about a month ago, it's It's only gonna be more Chilean, so running the ball is gonna be key and not fumbling the ball.
Obviously, it's gonna be a huge, huge, huge difference, because when Navy it's the vault, you're just going to absolutely jam it down your throat with the way that they find a way to absolutely get the job done and their rank for a reason.
They're an absolutely fantastic team. Seven and one.
They're gonna be a great team.
I think this is going to be the game that I think is going to help us realize that Brian Kelly is the guy for Notre Dame for the long term.
And I think if if Brian Kelly is going to be there for the long term, he has to win out in November.
I've said this multiple times to a lot of people have said, Listen, the way they got beat by Michigan about 23 weeks ago was absolutely unacceptable and knowing that and seeing that Notre Dame has to come out in each of these games and lay the wood, they barely beat Virginia Tech.
That was a joke.
They should have smashed for you. Now I understand.
Same record A CC for Virginia Tech.
Obviously, we meet them in basketball because of the same conference, whatever.
And we're independents in.
But in football, I get that.
But Virginia Tech is a team that legitimately we should be beating and not be beating at the last minute.
And I know Notre Dame underperforms and they have this thing about them for the last, however many years since, especially Tyrone Willingham in the mid mid 2000.
But overall, we have to step up that part of the game.
I think our defense is gonna have to shut down Navy.
I think our offense is good enough to get in the head of Navy and ultimately physically daunt them overall.
But in regards to us, having Brian Kelly for the long term and not getting Urban My Urban Meyer, we have to come out and dominate Navy.
We have to come out and dominate Stanford in two weeks.
We have to come out and beat whomever we're gonna beat next week. I haven't looked at the schedule.
I should know this because I've been looking at the schedule constantly, but we should know what we're going to do coming up in these next three games.
If we don't win these next three games and win 10 games this year, Brian Kelly gets the axe.
Get the heck out.
Get Urban Meyer in the building and let's go and let's try and win a title. Let's go.
And so, from that perspective, that's what I got to say.
We should win the game against Navy just because that is just the goal of Notre Dame when a title and went out.
If you don't you suck.
Notre Dame's all about When entitles Notre Dame's all about tradition.
Notre Dame's all about starting legacies.
That's what they're all about.
And it Brian Kelly can't win When this this game coming up.
You can't win the second the next game and they can't win against Stanford.
I don't care if he loses a bowl game.
That's nothing but going and win 10 games.
That's the minimum stands.
That's literally a C minus grade for you as a coach at Notre Dame is winning 10 games.
I know 2016 when they had to Sean Kaiser.
They won four games.
They weren't good.
That team got really hurt.
That team did not have a lot of talent and then a brutal schedule.
If you look back on it, so overall, I get a couple of bad years.
This was a year coming off of a college football playoff season where went 12 and over, the first time since 1988.
You can't come out and lay a dud against the rest of these teams, cause if you do like he did against Michigan, your ass is canned and you're gone.
That's just flat out simple.
Okay, let's get off this game.
Let's talk about other games real quick.
Other big games this weekend.
I'm excited for Georgia Aubert.
This is a playoff game, in my perspective, from the standpoint of Auburn is probably one of the best two lost teams in the nation.
They lost to excuse me.
They beat Oregon first game of the year.
They lost a couple of games and laughter there, But Georgia's Onley loss was the South Carolina.
If Georgia loses this game of nuts, Auburn loses game.
They're they're a 91 team their season, though, like obviously, I think Auburn.
If they come out and they win the rest of their games, and especially if they beat Alabama, they give themselves a shot.
An outside shot.
If things really it fits.
Hits the Shan in regards to the college football playoff that I think Auburn has a legitimate shot at being an outside chance. Their number 12.
We're only two weeks into the college football playoff ranking.
Who's to say that a two lost team can't get? And who's to say it can't be Auburn? If they were on the table in the SEC and play Alabama the final game of the season? Who says they can't? I'm just saying that is a playoff game.
Pacific 3:30 p.m.
I am gonna tune into that, or at least record it.
Obviously, Penn State Minnesota happened last weekend.
The excitement in Minnesota was unbelievable.
I'm a diehard Vikings fan.
I've been watched them since I was nine years old.
Seeing what they're doing in Minnesota right now, is the Golden Gophers there absolutely unbelievable what they did in that game against Penn State prove why they're a top 10 team in the nation.
Why they have a shot at the Big 10 title, why they have a shot at going toe going to the the college football playoff now.
Are they going to go? I don't think so.
But in the realm of having an opportunity having a chance, making themselves viable for a shot there, they're all they gotta do is continue to win.
Or if they lose a game, Lousteau, like Ohio State but make it close and make it competitive.
Minnesota loses a really close game toe.
How state How states going Probable.
Will you? What? Do you want to believe it or not? College football? The literally the No.
I got a tip about that, Uh, the college football playoff.
Listen, I got I got a little worked up.
A little tip there. That's pretty cool.
I got to say this college football playoff this year to me to meet now, talking about Georgia and Auburn real quick, and then we're going into the Minnesota Iowa game.
Minnesota ranked eighth in the cultural play Iowa, ranked 20th in the country.
I was always that hover team in arms and Minnesota ranked eighth in the country undefeated.
If they come out and absolutely blow the doors off of Iowa, like the way Wisconsin came out and blew the doors off of Michigan about a month ago, that will be a moment in Minnesota history where you sit back and say, OK, okay, college football playoff is in the room because if they get let listen, we all know if they give me my Ohio State, who, let's be honest, is 12 in the country.
I don't want to debate it.
Don't matter them ****ysis.
You won two in the country.
That's all it is.
Everybody else is really a sideshow.
Let's be honest, be 1000% honest.
If Minnesota can come out and beat Ohio State, then then then then we're talking top two in the country in the name of debate because you're talking about a team that I understand struggled early in the year, but you can beat Ohio State, Justin Fields and them boys out in the Midwest, the part of the country less go like college football this year.
Every year is a different story.
Is a different narrative is a different.
Oh, Alabama claims in Alabama.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
You get into the nits, nooks and crannies of college football every single year.
It's a different narrative this year.
In a perfect world, I just I want to make this super clear.
In a perfect world, we abolish the college football playoff this year.
Can we all be 1000 on this? Let's give Joe Burrow the Heisman right now.
Let's give Ohio State a 12 l S u won. Two.
Who cares What doesn't matter? Both teams are sensational.
Abolish the college football playoff.
I want to see how House Day Ellis you play right now in the national championship.
I don't even care like can we just be 100 with that? Can we just be 100 with that? I know we still got 2 to 3 weeks left in the college football season.
I know we still got conference championship games.
I know there's still some bread and butter and mashed potatoes and turkey and think I can keep going.
We still got things to happen, right? Like obviously, we still got a lot to discuss.
But as we currently sit, can you not say that? It's just l s U in Ohio State all the way.
I am talking Notre Dame and Navy right now.
I'm die hard, Notre Dame, but I'm gonna tell you them boys and Ohio State and then boys in the bayou will beat your brains out.
That number 22 l s U that, bro.
Last Listen, in the fourth quarter when l s u had the ball and they were doing what they're doing against Alabama Listen, that number 22 that little man that little Darren Sproles that little that little man out there at number 22 for L s u had 1/3 and long caught the ball on the sideline, Said I got alabama on my left.
I got out of bounds on my right.
You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna take it right at you, Alabama man.
I'm gonna take it and say, Get out in Alabama in front of country in front of the president and say, Let's go This man number 22 for L s U is a bad, bad man, like all day long and they got the Heisman right there.
They got Joe Burrow in the building like I know two is great too is actually really good neck And he had a couple bad plays, but he was pretty good.
Bama has been what they are next savings alleged Next statement is goingto have ah, statue out of Alabama Bryant Denny Stadium.
I love Nick Stabile, but can we just be all 100% clear with this right now? You got the two best teams in the country Justin Fields, Chase Young and them boys in Ohio State.
I know this will chase young craft.
Don't listen to it.
Don't don't don't listen to this crap narrative about all these this stuff going on with college football in these players.
When the college football man is the best, it is the best sport, period.
I can't sit here and debate and tell you enough how unbelievable college football is.
But we look at Georgia Auburn.
Let's go back to the point, right? I get so excited.
I love college football get so excited.
They play at 1 p.
Pacific 4 p.m. Eastern, cause I love Pacific.
Time off those, you know, swim Washington If you don't know where squint Washington is if you don't know where that is, that is legitimately across the water.
West side Western swim.
Washington is is across western the western side of Seattle.
So if you got Seattle right on a map like I'm pointing for you here Seattle on a map, you go this way across the Puget Sound body of water, right? Like there's a body of water here, here is Seattle and then swim is over here.
I live in that area.
I live in there, so you have to really just go around and two comas down here, right? And then Seattle, you know, centurylink and and mariners and all that stuff.
And if you want to go back and see me, you got to go around.
You gotta go around and then there I am, but or you could just take the ferry.
That's that's usually what I do.
You think fairy, But anyway, Minnesota Iowa voice is cracking.
Minnesota, Iowa, big time game minister comes out dominates Iowa the way they should.
The way Wisconsin against Michigan.
Like I said earlier in the season when they came out and blew the doors off 35 7 whatever it was an absolute domination fest by Wisconsin over me over over Michigan.
Then we start talking about Minnesota being a top five top six team in the country.
Now, if it's close, it's whatever.
Maybe Minnesota stays where they are.
Number eight Number not number six.
Number seven Now, obviously there, in feet of the rate, they're 19 could go 10.
Yo te No, you start talking about Okay, maybe you need to be a top five team.
All these things start to add up, right? They start to become kind of a thing.
Kind of an overall cir***stance.
Yeah, Oklahoma Baylor.
Another big time game.
You got potentially of Oklahoma wins this.
If Oklahoma goes into Baylor and blows the doors off the conversation about Jalen hurts potentially being in the Heisman or at least showing up in the building and watching Joe Burrows When the wind that when the when the trophy could be there.
Lincoln Riley could have himself three Heisman candidates in the last three years.
Jalen hurts Baker, Mayfield and Collar Murray? Not in order, but Baker Mayfield, College Building.
I don't think I don't think he's gonna win it.
I don't think he has enough to win it.
But I think when you look at where Jalen Hurts came from in regards to what he did in Alabama and being really just a game manager or whatever, then the next thing you know, he comes out and the next thing you know as he wins and is a game manager now he's in Oklahoma, creating all this.
All this unbelievable space, making passes left and right.
Doing what he's supposed to you all together.
It is unbelievable what Jalen Hurts has done this year.
Do I think he's gonna win the Heisman? No, I'm just saying he might be in the building as a contender.
I'm not saying he's gonna He's gonna win Joe Burrows gonna win right now as we sit.
L s U finishes out wins the SEC.
Joe Borough wins.
It doesn't It doesn't matter.
But in regards to Jalen, hurts being in the building as a top three candidate and being in New York for the ceremony.
That's huge because then Lincoln Rounding could say, I had two Heisman Trophy winners in an antique end, a contender the last three years in a row.
Pay me more money. Oklahoma like that's what's gonna happen.
So if they come out, win big against Baylor, that could be the chance for Jalen.
Hurts to show up in New York.
Have a chance now.
I wanted to look at the rankings, euro quick and college football.
Obviously, this is the big time games.
I just mentioned it all.
If you want to check him out.
Obviously, if you've got the cut, the stream light watch the whole stream. It's fun.
I love this stuff.
L s U Number one. Ohio State's number two.
There's no debate.
There's there's no debate.
Now you could talk about Clemson being number two or number one or whatever.
Oh, Chris, There, 10.
Why are you so Ah, Clemson and uh, no, no, Clemson's great Don't me wrong.
Clemson's great, but here's what bothers me is that we're about to have another college football playoff, right and I said this early in the stream and you all heard it.
If you've been watching, we're about to have another college playoff, right? And what have we seen the last, however many years? Georgia, Alabama, Two years ago.
We saw claims in Alabama last year.
We saw clubs in Alabama two years ago.
I think it comes in Alabama the year before that, if not whatever.
It was real close.
It was in a semifinal game.
You get my point and we have cleansed in at number three Right now.
This is what bothers me about in the college football playoff this year and why I think we're all wanting, you know? I mean, like, an 18 playoff or we want a 16 team playoff.
Why we want to expand.
But also why the conversation of why we should also have different rationales for different seasons or different reasons.
For different years.
You're gonna you're gonna get my point here in just a moment.
You're gonna you're gonna understand what I'm saying in just a second.
If they finish the season undefeated in a garbage, let's be honest.
If if Clemson played in a conference that was blank and not talked about.
Clemson would still be undefeated and what they are, but we wouldn't talk about them so highly because they play in the A C C.
We say a C C o Big Power five conference.
Oh, they must be really good.
They're undefeated, They're 10 and of the A C C.
It must be a big deal.
Listen, if Clemson played in the Pac 12 I mean, I'm not saying the pact was good, but if they play in the Pac 12 do you think they'd really be where they are? They might be five.
They might be out of the playoff race.
They might be out of contention, in fact, that Alabama might be ahead of them right now like I'm gonna be 100% honest.
If Clemson was some random college like, let's say, Clemson, you replaced Clemson with Gonzaga, and Gonzaga's football program went undefeated.
There were 10 you know, and they had just won a national champion the year before, and they barely got whatever.
I don't know the cir***stances, but let's say Clemson did that and it didn't and and they dominated the Pac 12 and they get in and they're undefeated.
And the next thing you know because they're undefeated.
Oh, my God, that you get it.
Oh, wait a minute.
That's that's Central Florida.
Whoa! What a concept, Chris.
You just nailed the team.
Let's say Clemson's basically Central Florida this year.
Not they have NFL players got E T n.
That boy's a bad boy, that running back E t.
And that is a bad man like that is a bad man.
E t n is men That game one of the season when he had, like, 13 carries for, like, 200 yard that do was nasty and he was bald.
Well, let's be 100% honest with this.
Can we just think about this in the long term scheme? L s you know how State of number one number two, right? We all know that.
And why we talk about expansion.
Why we why we talk about 18 playoff, 16 team playoff? Why, Sometimes that's just not a good idea.
Clemson is number three in the country, right? They could potentially play Ohio State or else you.
Who knows what the rankings will look like in a month.
They'll be having three weeks to prepare Clemson, if I'm not mistaken, has made it to a national championship for the college football playoff 34 years in a row.
And doing so, they have had great success, right? Sometimes when you're given a month to prepare for a team, especially, let's be honest, two teams that haven't been there because Ohio State hasn't been to the Constable playoff since the year one.
I think of the Constable playoff, which all those all those players are gone.
Now that whole generation of Iowa State players is gone, none of them have been there.
That coach definitely ain't never been there.
That coach definitely doesn't want to prepare for this.
Yeah, he watched Urban Meyer, but he ain't no urban Meyer.
Then you got L s.
You who definitely never been in the college football playoff.
The last time they did anything big time in regards to get into a playoff bowl championship game was 2012 when them in Alabama had a rematch after game of the year and then Alabama beat them 21.
Nothing in a Drudge garbage.
Nasty, terrible game.
You say okay, you know.
All right, you got two teams that are clearly wanting to clearly the best team for the regular season because remember the prestige of college football's regular season. I'm a Notre Dame fan.
This is what we do.
We care about every single game.
That's what we do right as fans and as people who are diehards or as people who are college football fan diehards, Jen and General.
The regular season means so much more then these **** bull game plan.
Listen, the players will even tell you.
Players have told you this the last, however many years with guys who have sat, who are draft picks or who are projected to do this and that in this.
And they've told you I don't even care about the ball game.
I just wanna get drafted.
I cared about playing in my regular season with the rivalries, with the team, for the scholarship, for the etcetera, and the next thing you know they don't play in the bowl game is the game.
Doesn't matter over Chris.
It would play in the ball game if they played in the playoff game.
Sure, I'm sure they would.
Hey, and the Rose Bowl is a big deal to, You know, it's got tradition.
It's a big time game.
The Fiesta Bowl When it's not a playoff game tradition, Cotton Bowl tradition, You keep naming the tradition.
You keep naming why it's supposed to matter.
There's so much around all these different historic bowl games that have been around for ages and generations, and the stories that history.
Oh, that's what life is about.
Like college football, you start revolving around, and the regular season success all churns together for New Year's and obviously for the playoffs, you're trying to tell me that you would like to see Clemson play number three and then either play Ellis you Earl.
How state? Two teams who are not prepared, comparatively, to the way Davos Sweeney could prepare for anybody if he's given if he's given a full month to prepare.
So you're trying to tell me that, Chris, it's gonna be fine.
Ohio State knows you're good enough to be claims it.
You think You sure about that? You give Clemson a whole month with a whole bunch.
NFL players Chase Lawrence, whose only any of better, older, more significant you name it.
And the next thing you know, we come into late December when the play offs begins.
Who knows if a guy in Ohio State's sick or not? Who knows if Joe Burrow it came, you know, got out of bed with Crick in his neck.
Who knows if the coaches even prepared correctly for their team because they've never been here, done this Davos.
Sweeney has done this so many years in a row with Chase Lawrence.
And to show, how many times do we have to run ourselves in the frickin wall with this? You give claims in a month off with all that talent they have slept, walked through the A C C at 10.
I know they're about to go play l s u R Ohio State after the momentum they've had all year long and prep the way they've prepped all season long, and they're gonna destroy whoever they play.
And then we're gonna sit there and say, Oh, Oh, God, Oh, God, Chris was right.
I watched that broadcast on November 13 2019 my God, he's got a point.
Davos Sweeney is a bad man.
He's about to have statues of him and Clemson.
He knows what he's talking about.
I never would have thought that way.
Yeah, because you watch whoever gets that to spot.
If Clemson stays at the three, they're gonna get absolutely tally wacked destroyed.
Any other adjective word you can think of where a team gets absolutely beaten to the ground a month later.
And Ohio State Nellis, you're gonna stand no shame, no chance, absolutely no chance.
After a month of preparation.
Right now, George is at four, which I don't get that.
I think if Georgia loses this weekend Auburn, it's over.
Alabama obviously shouldn't be a five.
I feel like in all reality.
And again, this goes back to agreed gophers.
Um, if you want to ask me a question or if you want to talk about college football or just send your comments and tell me how ugly I look or tell me I'm an idiot, er, I've got my power alleys going right now that I'm a balding old ass man who has no idea what you're talking about. Please feel free.
I just want to enjoy talking about college football, cause I could talk about college football literally for hours.
I've been doing this for 25 minutes.
I'm so pumped him.
So George is ranked number four, Alabama's right. Number five. Oregon.
You taught seven, and obviously the Gophers air it.
All right? Number, eh? I honestly think the gofer should be maybe number and number seven.
I feel like that's a fair ranking.
I feel like organ has had a better year.
I feel like Alabama's had a better year.
I feel like Georgia has had a better year.
They've played a really, really good teams.
Minnesota just proved that they beat a number four number five team in the country right now, beating Penn State.
Absolutely phenomenal game.
I mentioned earlier, Penn State being ranked number nine that.
Listen, if you're gonna keep Penn State of number nine, but have Minnesota at number seven, you would think that should be number eight.
You would think that they would be ranked higher because you have all that respect for Penn State. Still, no.
Another number nine? I don't know.
I'm just trying to think of the logic.
But Oklahoma, at number 10 that's fair.
They lost to A with a list of Kansas State that was weird.
I think that was Kansas State, right? Another pack, Another big 12 team.
But you look at the rankings and where they are with we're at number four.
It's heat and see.
And this is where again I bring up the hole.
L s U N all house there to the only teams right now when we look it and we say they're the only teams that have a shot, they're the only teams that they have a shot there.
The only teams that are deserve ID of being a national championship winner.
Because if you are okay, I know a lot of people who are watching this are my age or maybe younger or whatever, because they're probably only the only one smart enough to be able to get on a Web site like this and watch these kind of streams.
But if you go back to the history in the annals of college football for for decades, for decades prior to the college football playoff and prior to the BCS, the championship waas literally the championship was determined based on the polls on Li, like sometimes depending on the game, whether it was the Sugar Bowl, whether it was the Orange Bowl, whether it was the Cotton Bowls, whether it was at the Cotton Bowl.
Cotton balls, you get my point, the Rose Bowl.
Any other big college football game you can think of.
Usually the best teams would play in them, right? Like the New Year's games.
That's that's all that happened back in the day prior to all this other stuff.
And you know how a championship was picked.
It was based on the polls.
They know a champion.
Waas picked the pol.
They didn't say this was the national championship game.
They just said All right, season's over.
Writers Who do you think won? And they would just kind of pick a team.
They were just the Sugar Bowl, and I thought this team played better or this was the Rose Bowl, and I think this team played better.
I know things evolve.
I know things change and things get better, and I know things are you know what they are.
But at the same time, you should fit the narrative that is conclusive, or at least close to what should be a champion in that regard and keep the regular season more relevant.
than just relying on.
Ah ah! Concerted.
8 16 4 team playoff.
Let's be honest here, outside of L s U In Ohio State, I can't think of another team worthy of being a champion.
Obviously, Minnesota, they've got their chance.
Obviously, Baylor, they've got their chance.
I mean, be honest.
Clemson has their chance.
But are you really impressed with them this year? No.
Everybody else, Georgia not deserve it.
They lost the South Carolina.
They're not deserving of a championship.
They just lost Alice.
You clearly not deserve it unless L s u loses and they stumble.
And then that's a whole different narrative.
But as of right now, we look at it and we say, Yeah, you know, like, L s U won.
Ohio State The only team Oregon.
They lost the Auburn first game of the year not deserve it.
I know they've been a lot better since then, but it does not deserve it.
Minnesota undefeated have their chance.
The season is still playing itself out.
They just lost the Minnesota No Oklahoma.
They lost to give state No Florida, no Auburn, No Baylor.
Now they're on the table they dominate, especially if they win this weekend and dominant over Oklahoma.
Now maybe there's a conversation kind like Minnesota.
It's the same thing.
Like there's a conversation. Minnesota has a chance.
In a perfect world, this is what I would want to see happen.
I would want to see Ellis, you, Ohio State, Minnesota and how stable for them.
Finish figure himself out Clemson.
And then if Baylor runs the table on dominates and wins the big the big Bowl championship put Baylor in because it's a Power five conference. They're undefeated.
Give him a shot.
But you get my point here.
Like all these teams, I'm mentioning all these teams I'm bringing up Wisconsin.
No, Wisconsin does not deserve it Like that is some great games.
You're but no Michigan.
Hell, no Notre Dame.
We don't deserve to get in.
We're seven and two. We suck.
Got pummeled by Michigan.
No, since now you know Memphis, now I can keep going.
I can keep saying and screaming and yelling the Onley two teams right now that we sit and we say it is obvious.
Is Ohio State and Ellis.
You know, like I said, they're still so many things in our way.
There's still so many things that we have going forward in regards to what could be and what could be the option off where things could play themselves out.
We all know that, Ellis.
You could easily stumble on one of these SEC teams.
We all know Ohio State could stumble upon some of these teams down the stretch.
One of them could lose in their conference title game, and it changes the whole narrative.
And that's why we have a playoff and set in place.
But can I just be 100% honest? If Ohio State absolutely runs the gauntlet all the way through, like they have the Big 10 and everybody else this year and then L s u does the same exact thing? How in the hell can you justify having a team like Clemson or you picked the fourth team in there? When those two teams of the teams that are the clear title contenders like I can't, this is like this is this is why sometimes to me when we look at the sport of college football and we try to break it down in an NFL way, which is, Ah, college football playoff, which is whether it's four teams 18 16 you get it.
Hey, it becomes more of a hindrance because a team like Clemson, who has NFL talent, could legitimately walk in after a month of preparation who don't deserve to be in a championship conversation in the old style at all.
Just because of just because they're undefeated does not mean to deserve to be in a national championship.
Just move that won the championship last year because they walk slept, walked through the A C C.
There have been multiple games they've barely won by a possession.
Well, you can't after what Ohio State and what.
Ellis, you're doing this. You you can't do that.
You can't put them in.
Not that anything was everything up in a top four, but they don't deserve to be in a championship period.
You give Davos Sweeney a full month to prepare for whomever he plays, he's going to win.
So then, when his team wins and we're like, Oh, it was meant to be the playoff work? No, you just just You just disregarded this whole last three months of college football, September October Or, you know, some teams mid August, August, September, October, November.
And then all of a sudden you give Clemens in a full month because they're undefeated in the A C.
They dominate Alice, you're Ohio State, and the next thing you know Oh, it is a Well, it worked, you know, That's not how this should work.
L s u Ohio State.
Put him in, put him in.
Whatever big national championship game Blais out you want.
But on the moon, let him play.
Those of the top two teams in the world like those are the top two teams in the world.
I can't handle this whole conversation of Oh, well, this team deserves again.
This time we're fighting about scrums.
College football is a sport with the Heisman Trophy winner, where you legitimately have the Heisman Trophy on your grave as the first thing you're known as as a coach, you get statues made of you when you win championships.
When you win constantly, you're immortalized for life.
You can eat free around the college campus for the rest of your life.
If you just win in our consistent and are amazing and we're trying to justify fourth and third best teams when clearly there's, Ah, 12 and then three.
Like we No, uh, I I don't I am not.
I am not a fan of that structure.
And I'm just trying to sit here and tell you on this random stream between Notre Dame and Navy that if you give, comes in a month to face either Ohio State or Alice, You Look, I'm just saying it. Good luck.
They're probably gonna beat them by three touchdowns.
And then we're gonna sit there and say, Oh, we should rethink the college football playoff.
Or you know what's probably gonna happen because the money usually talks.
Oh, the college football playoff work claims and actually really good.
Maybe the SEC is really good. No, they're not.
C is trashed this year.
Clemson is very good enough.
Very bad conference.
Like I said, claims in place in the Pac 12 they go undefeated.
They're probably ranked sixth right now or fifth, and nobody's talking about the Ming, a championship contender.
Granted, they won the championship last year.
They wanted before, but you just can't You just cannot Let's let's be completely objective here as a Notre Dame fan.
Listen, we're not in a conference.
We're independent, right? But what Clemson is doing this year, let's all be 1000% on this.
What Clemson is doing this year, based on their resume of what they've done, they've gone 10.
I know, right? Here's the difference.
If Notre Dame had Davos, Sweeney, a Notre Dame, was 10.
I know right now you replaced Clemson with Notre Dame.
Let's say you, let's say Notre Dame was claims it right, weren't but but Notre Dame is not in.
Notre Dame is not in a conference, but let's say Clemson just they date swap programs.
They swap players, coaches everything, but they're the same teams.
Notre Dame is Trevor Laurence.
Notre Dame is Davos.
When you get what I'm saying, then Notre Dame are shoot me.
Then Clemson has all of Notre Dame stuff.
If Clemson waas eight and two right now, that wouldn't be right.
They wouldn't even be right.
Let's be a thoughtless be 100% honest on that, they would, but less beast.
Let's let's be honest here.
Notre Dame is ranked because they're Notre Dame because the program is legendary their their their their history, their their coaching.
That's pretty good there.
Players are pretty good.
They're not a championship team this year.
They're just not. They don't deserve it.
Can you say the same thing with Clemson? Like if Clemson or shoot me? If Notre Dame was undefeated teno with Clemson's team, people would sit there.
And if they were number three in the country, people would sit there and say, All their noted in they don't have a shot.
They're not any good. They're They're garbage there.
Oh, my God, they're no today and they're just gonna choke it again.
But that's because that's Notre Dame's.
That's Notre Dame's.
That's what they're known for for the last 20 years, really, this last generation of people, that's what they're known for.
But since Clemson has actually finished in one championships and they're in a garbage conference, Notre Dame doesn't just be honest.
Notre Dame probably only place for five ranked teams a year, and they're random teams because that they have a random schedule cause they're independent.
But people say that their schedule soft people say that the schedules, whatever right.
But if you replace that with Clemson.
And there what they're known for, right? Like like like they're thing there.
It's their niche.
The fact that they've won titles, the fact that they've won championships, you then look at them and you say, Oh, they've got a garbage schedule older in a garbage conference claims and they want a title put him in and knowing what people like myself and others who know who watched the sport and actually, you know, do this stuff.
We we look at this stuff constantly when we actually look at this stuff and we see it.
By the way, Clemson has an amazing coaching staff.
They're about the prep, the crap out of whomever they're gonna play, and they're probably gonna beat them if they're given a full month to do it.
They did it against out Alabama.
They've done it against everybody.
You can think of identity.
Is Notre Dame shoot? I mean, they do it against everybody, and they destroy them when they're given that much time to prep to get healthy.
All that, when you have clumps in that much time, it don't matter who they play, they're gonna beat the crap out of them, and that's what's gonna happen.
And everybody's gonna either do one of two things.
They're gonna either question the college football layout or they're gonna sit there and say, I'm so glad we have the college football playoff because now we know that Ohio State's legit or, you know, El issues legit.
And for me, that's not good enough for me.
That's like saying, Yeah, we finally got what we wanted and now we can finally sit here and say, Oh, yeah, that teams finally got a chance or whatever, because the system we have is good.
I don't think the system works.
I think some years you need to abolish the system.
I think this is a year where you need to sit back and as someone who if you like, you know, college football the way it's supposed to be done.
You should sit there and say, Oh yeah, Ohio State Ellis, you put him in, Let's go, let's go That's what it should be And I'm not just saying that because they're two powerhouse conferences and are not just powerhouse conferences, but powerhouse teams in regards to what they do and in their history in their tradition.
I'm just being a realist.
Those the only two teams I care about winning national championship.
I think if any other team plays or any other team goes, I feel like it's a farce.
I feel like they got jobbed in that regard.
I feel like it's a unnecessary game that they need to play to get to that next spot.
Oh, but Chris, it's one more game to help prove that they're even better than we all thought.
I don't think so.
I think what's gonna happen is is Clemson with their program and how good they are and how they prep.
It's the same thing If you put Alabama in the fourth spot, I think this is what's also gonna happen.
If Alabama wins out and they play, they can't represent the SEC West in the in the in the S e c championship now, because they lost L Suf.
Alice, you goes undefeated.
Let's say L issue goes under feet.
Let's say Ohio State is undefeated.
Cleansing was undefeated.
Let's say Alabama Finn wins out and they dominate winning out.
The next thing you know, this is what's gonna happen.
It's gonna be Alabama for Clemson three Ohio State to L s. U won.
And this is what's gonna happen next Table's gonna have a whole months of prep for either.
You again, who he's played who usually next table when he plays in the second time wins.
Granted a pretty good college football playoff championship game.
If you ask me organ playing House State, you know, Let's be honest.
That head coach ain't prepared for Nick Saban because next aim is going absolutely, just just just X's and O's is asked to death.
That's what exactly what's gonna happen Then Clemson's gonna play one of the two and Abbas when he's proven that he could do the same thing.
And he's got a whole bunch of dudes who have so much talent on the same level, if not on par with Ellis, your Ohio State, both those teams from an X's and O's and whom they have, you know in regards to where, and they're comfortable ity and being in these moments and their coaching staffs, and although they haven't been there before, so then when you get on the big stage and in the only game on TV in front of millions of people, and you're not prepared in front of Nick Saban in Devil's Way, you're gonna get your ass handed to you.
Look at Notre Dame like Look at Notre Dame last year. 12.
No, Brian Kelly been in the national champion before These players last year for Notre Dame.
Never had been there before.
Got their ass handed to them by Davos Sweeney.
And you can't sit here and debate notions.
Chris's Notre Dame.
It's Oh, my God, I know you're here Notre Dame and there is so much better I'm being 100% honest with you.
Sweeney still found a way to beat Nick Saban's ass in the national championship game last year. Davos.
Sweeney played two back to back blowout ballgames in a college football playoff.
That really was horrible to watch.
If you're if you're a non Clemson fan, because that was not entertaining both those games they dominated.
Do you want to see that again? Do you want to see Clemson ruin the opportunity of what of the way it should be with Alice? You're in a house that USC Alabama Clemson in the national championship again when those two teams are aren't worthy of even contending for it.
As we sit right now, two weeks before Thanksgiving, you really think you really think that Alabama and Clemson are worthy of being in the national championship right now? Clemson Garbage A CC, Alabama Lost L S U and let's be honest, it was a 46 to 40 ballgame.
But if, too, it doesn't throw that 90 90 yard touchdown pass with two minutes left.
When really it was garbage time.
Let's be 100% honest.
That was you in the house.
There are the two best teams in all of college football, and they need to be in a championship by themselves, and one of them needs to be a title winner of all time.
There are years.
Last year was a year where it got Harry a lot.
The year before that got real hairy, like the standings got Harry.
I understand I understand a playoff in those years.
Those years makes us when college football doesn't have a dominant team.
I under stand a playoff the last couple years, I get it I get the debates, I get the conversations.
But when you have L s U in this debate and Joe Borough that clear Heisman front runner and then you have Ohio State who is just I mean, they are literally lighting people on fire every week.
It is insane what they're doing.
Why would you want to rob yourself of that matchup? Why would you want to rob yourself of that? Because, oh, it's the right way because we need a playoff.
Because Clemson and because Alabama, they're just they just deserve to be there if they get there.
I don't think that's just what needs to be.
If you want to see Clemson, go play a really good team like organ.
Or if you want to go see Alabama, play Notre Dame or you wanna see Alabama go play Oklahoma or excuse me, Alabama play Minnesota in a You know, if Minnesota loses on how State If you want to see Minnesota play Alabama in a playoff game, excuse me in a that would be cool Alabama Minnesota playoff game.
Jeez, Alabama would run them off the field in my right cam um, Alabama in Minnesota, in a bowl game notes, and you could see if Minnesota's for real.
Like if they lose Ohio State and they go 12 and one on the season or or 11 and one of them and they beat Alabama in a bowl game, that would be unbelievable, because then it would put Minnesota on the map for the future as a team where you legitimately consider and say, Oh, yeah, no, Minnesota is a is a team to now be reckoned with.
They could be Alabama in a bowl game.
There's all these possibilities, always options, and and we're getting robbed by constantly saying that we need to have a playoff or we need to expand or we get back.
I'm not trying to reward mediocrity.
I'm trying to reward the best of the best cause I'm a Notre Dame fan, and all I care about is the best of the best.
Notre Dame is the Yankees of college football.
Sorry, that's just is what it is.
You can say whatever you want, but whenever you got a whole NBC program rated thing for yourself for the last, I don't know 50 years, it feels like for Notre Dame, where they have a whole entire National Broadcasting Channel to themselves, and they get paid by it because it's Notre Dame.
And because even Notre Dame has statues in the Yankee Memorial in center field for Notre Dame football players, that's how big of a deal.
This is a Notre Dame scream, Dammit, You came here to watch me talk and it's a Notre Dame stream.
You can't You can't get mad.
You can't get mad because it's I'm talking Notre Dame because that's why I'm here anyway. I'm excited.
I love college football.
I could literally sit here all day and talk about it, but I've been doing this for 45 minutes.
My podcasts run long because of this, because a lot of just chat and talk and get excited and be thrilled.
I probably do another one of these next week.
We'll talk about college.
I love college football.
College football's amazing.
Anyway, I'm out of here. You'll have a good night. Enjoy yourselves.
How did I end this stream? This is this is the fun part.
They always make it like a like a frickin merry go round around here to try and close these streams Let's see.
How do I do this? Dictated to do? Do do, Do I? How do I close the stream? I wonder if Cam can help me how to close a stream.
There is a bottom left stop sign in broadcast pcl.
