This is Alex from unwrap sports here to break down Sunday Night Football's matchup.
We have the Minnesota Vikings at the Dallas Cowboys.
Vikings pulled off this victory 28 24.
One of my major takeaways was cousins coming through.
There's a lot that has been said about the way that Cousins performs against teams over 500 games that require him to kind of be the clutch player, the go to guy, that the guy to finish the game.
You know, he's has a history where he doesn't do that.
But this game against Dallas proves that case can be beaten.
For him, Cousins was accurate.
He wasn't afraid to make the tough throws.
He really stood in the pocket and did very well with what the Dallas defense was able was willing to give him.
He finished 23 for 32 220 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers, which was a major key for their victory, keeping the ball in their hand.
You know, having the ability to run the ball with Darwin Cook.
You know he made a great throw Rudolph in the back of the end zone and, you know, Rudolph made a hell of a catch himself and really got into rhythm after that.
It was a game where, you know, Rudolph really broke out, and I think that had a lot to do with Adam feeling being out and then meeting somebody to step up.
And in this game, it was rude off and he, him and Cousins definitely had a A great repertoire as they seem to kind of go to each other.
I know because it seemed to go to Rudolph very often.
Comtech continually hit cook and check downs and design screens, but that really opened up the Dallas defense as they were without Adam feeling.
As I said earlier, Um, just didn't put Min notes.
Cousins completed passes to seven different receivers again, with feeling being out, he definitely needed to facilitate the ball.
Kind of get the ball going, not let Dallas just focus on one particular person.
Cousins look confident, poise running the offense all day.
This was going against the Dallas team that you know has a lot to prove based on their hot star.
And you know how poor they've, you know, finished games or started games, you know, it's one or the other.
They either don't close or they start really slow on that.
The other team get get too hot.
And, you know, in this game that was the case.
The Vikings were ableto to take a very slow start from from the Dallas Cowboys offense and really able to get things going.
Which led me to my next major takeaway, which was Vikings starve Elliot.
Elliot has a known ability of being able to just completely tear up.
Defense's Minnesota Vikings have a strong defense.
They have a good linebacker corps and, you know, they didn't over commit.
They definitely kept Elliot within is within their range.
He held him to a 2.
4 average, 20 k short for 47 yards, which was a necessity that had to have occurred for them to be ableto get this victory toe to nullify the running game.
You know, the defense consistently clog running lanes and continually rallied well to cover the ball carrier.
Neutralizing one of Dallas is key weapons helped seal this victory late against the Dallas Cowboys.
As you know, as the score indicates, it was a game that really came down to the last couple of minutes.
You know, the Vikings weren't able to close out and run the ball out when they had the opportunity and ended up putting it back to the Cowboys.
And, you know, with great defensive stand, you know, not giving way to Elliot being able to be used as a play action employees later in the game, they definitely kept themselves give themselves the best opportunity.
Thio basically battle a one on one ah, non dynamic offense without their running game being as effective.
Next, I wanted it actually discuss digs role in the offense.
Stefan Dix has been the number one for two games and has been unable to get much, going three receptions for 49 yards on Sunday, one receptions for four yards a week Before there's a lot.
There has been a lot made of his comments wanted to be traded early in the season, and to see him not being able to take these chances to put up is disappointing.
In no way, shape or form.
Am I saying that he's not a good receiver? I just feel like he has failed to step up when the team needs them the most.
I understand you know, the best corners were covering him, but he has not been able to get much going any with any sort of situation you've had in these games.
I know he had that big 300 yard game, but other than that, he really has struggled to kind of get things going, get separation and, really, you know, put himself in a position to take over a game or really, you know, influence the defensive game plan.
You know, he did make a crucial cat.
A crucial catch in this game late in the fourth are late in the game where he was able to, you know, get a great reception down the sideline.
But, you know, I think this is a huge testament to Adam feelings, role in the offense and how he can really open up the defense for Stefan Digs and everybody else to get involved.
You know, Dalvin Cook to get some running lanes, almost halfback delays, you know, ultimately, the offensive coordinator, you know, needs to get Deeks more involved.
He's a dynamic receiver, you know, He asked speed.
You know, he you know, he did have, you know, the Minnesota Miracle where he proved, you know, he he's no, not gonna give up on a play is gonna do everything you can to toe to win this Thio get the victory.
But it's just very disappointing to see that in in the offense where, you know, Dix has just not been able to perform being been thought, that guy and, you know, with feeling looking to come back, it should, you know, sport a benefit to Stefan Diggs and his production.
But that was very concerning.
And, you know, for the Cowboys, they're in a very tough spot.
As now there's, you know, Second, half of the season is going to be very somethingto look at Very, particularly, You know, their next match against the Eagles is going to be a major one now, with another neck and neck trying to fight for the be.
You know, they're the they're division crown.
But, you know, for the Dallas Cowboys, this is a very disappointing game, you know, not to, you know, no knock to the Minnesota Vikings, but this should have been a game that they you know what it should have been ableto get ahold of and hold this victory for their season goal of, you know, get into a Super Bowl.
But this was Ah, you know.
That's why we play the games.
And and that's why, you know, on paper, you know, I actually had the Dallas Cowboys beating the Vikings rather easy without feeling.
But, you know, Vikings played exceptionally well in both sides of the ball, and unfortunately for the Cowboys, they were slow to get going on offense.
And Zeke never was able to find many lanes to get going.
And, yeah, now that both teams, you know, Vikings are now catching up to the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys Air now even more entrenched in the division battle with the Philadelphia Eagles for the remainder of the season.
All right, that is it for this Sunday night Recap.
