Welcome back to a brand new edition of Sports Caster.
I'm your host free Becker.
And today we had the next lose last night at Madison Square Garden at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 108 to 87.
But that's not the story first, but obviously the story is that the next fight for Brian, this words down by as much as 30 at home to a lottery team in the Calves.
But that's besides the point, besides the queen, so fast forward to the end of the game after the game, something very unusual, something that rarely happens took place while the media was waiting for Fizdale to enter the press room in Rock, Scott Perry and Steve Mills to have an impromptu press conference where they basically all they said was, We're not happy with where we're at right now, and the play on the court is not doing well.
Way should be better with what we have right now.
Now they did say that they still have.
They still have confidence in Fizdale, but they mentioned like 10 more games later.
If something doesn't happen, there's no improvement and something could happen.
So basically what they were doing was they basically, through David Fizdale under the bus, They said they basically said after these next 10 games, if we don't improve, then we're getting rid of this jail.
They basically they put Fizdale on notice that he's gonna lose his job.
And actually, that was kind of that was confirmed today by a drawer Janowski of ESPN, who put out an article saying that this press conference that Nick's had last night was planned in advance much before yesterday and that that tells me that basically to me, at least let's just get right down to it.
I don't think first L should be fired.
I think if he's getting fired, he's gonna he's gonna be looked at as a scapegoat.
And if anything, it should be Mills and Perry.
Steve Mills, who's been here forever.
Steve Bales has had horrendous signings.
He signed Kim hardly junior to $71 million.
He signed Joyce Randall to an overpaid contract and they were all convinced on getting Kyrie and Durant in this office passed off season, and instead we wound up with Bobby Portis, Julius Randle, Marcus Morrison, among others.
So to me, this roster is terrible, and you can't blame David Fizdale for the way this team has been playing.
This roster is pathetic, and the only way they improved this roster is if they get rid of Mills and Perry.
That's the only way they'll even improve any product on the court.
Unsafe because right now what you did is you have big time tension between Fizdale and Mills and Perry.
I don't care that he met with them today and that there's a big attention that he met with them and he said Everything's good, but it's in May Fizdale.
It's kind of unfortunate, because if they do wind up getting rid of his, uh, Mills and Perry, physical probably obviously have to go anyway, because the new jam will have their new coach, their own coach, to come in.
So to meet foods, Dale's getting a bad rap here.
But for Mills and Perry, to put no blame on themselves is incredibly weak.
Incredibly, I can't even I've never I have seen a n e executive GM.
Any team have an impromptu press conference that where they go on to say pretty quiet there on coach and you had Magic Johnson's impromptu press conference last year for the Lakers, who just stepped down.
But to go out there and call out your own coach that you hired, you hired him.
So So you're good.
So you hired him first.
What? So you hired him? You're gonna get a second.
I don't think so.
You're I don't think you're going to get another shot at this.
Why should you? You You guys struck out in free agency.
You signed Tim Hardaway Jr to a terrible deal, and you have the prison gates trade that took place now for the prison gates trade.
At least I like Dennis Smith.
I think the way he's been playing so far it hasn't isn't the way he's he can play, but other than that used you, cleared cap space for Durant and Kyrie.
That bomb failed, and then you oh, before that, even though again you're 71 million went to Hardaway, which wound up trading anyway.
And then you sign Julius Randle because you're desperate from way too much money that pays more than he's worth.
So none of this lies on Fizdale.
I just don't you could get.
You could get rid of this deal today.
You could higher Jeff Van Gundy right now, and they would still suck that roster.
You could get any top and coach to come in with this roster right now.
You could get steep kurta coming.
You if you get Gregg Popovich.
Gregg Popovich comes in with this roster.
I guarantee that they're a lottery team that still and just quickly looking ahead.
If he does get fired, I don't even know what Coach would even want to take this job at this point.
The toxic situation this franchise is horrendously is run horrendous.
Horrendously and and ah, And then what? Who else is gonna want come? So Mark Jackson, I don't No one wants at this point after what happened in Golden State.
It sounds like he likes, um, being on TV and and I can't think of anywhere else, but like, who? What big name with Nick's gonna be able to even get If they were to get rid of Fizdale, that would want to come here cause I can't think of any.
That's all I have today.
Horrendously pathetic job that Mills and Perry did on last night, going to the media during your coach, under the bus, like that pathetic and weak gut list.
