is going on Bills, fans.
Welcome back to the stream.
Uh, after a little bit of a rough day today, um, but we made it through it.
We made it through 10 weeks so far, and we're still life.
We're still in a good spot in a playoff race.
So that's all we could ask for.
Really? Um I mean, we we kind of going into the season, we weren't expecting a whole lot.
We had easy schedule.
There was a lot of hope going around, a lot of hype going on around this team, and they've lived out through it to a certain point.
Um, there was not definitely that I would not put them in a Super Bowl contention at all.
I was not putting that from the start of the season, but I was absolutely putting up.
Maybe in the divisional talk to win that division.
Still took a big step back today with their loss to the Cleveland Browns.
19 to 16 1 That's an A F C matchup.
So that's definitely gonna hurt you in the standings.
And two, that's just a game that you need to win.
Um, but I mean, we've seen the bills.
They do not always show up on the games that they need to win.
They do not always proved Alice that they are the team that they really are.
Wouldn't we need to see it s o.
A little bit of a tough loss today.
I know I was really hurting from this one, but we're not dead yet.
It's not totally over yet.
We're still six and three.
We have a great record.
We have a great schedule coming up and we have a good team.
Um, it may not have seemed like it many times today, but we're building in the right direction and I know bills fans don't want to hear that.
I know they don't want to hear.
We're building were trusted process.
Nobody wants to hear that anymore.
Everybody just wants it.
And I think everybody's kind of overreacting so much because we were.
We were so close to start the season to start the season.
We were we were ready, ready to roll and win that division.
So I think baby Bills fans are overreacting just a little bit because they just want those winds now.
They saw how close. We were.
They saw they were capable of those winds.
But they just want that that satisfaction of winning games now when the game's big, that you need to win.
And that's just not quite where we are yet.
Um, we need to keep building where we are.
We have a strong core.
Um, it's just a few things you gotta tighten up.
I mean that that offensive performance today was pretty weak yet again for another week.
I mean, last week we saw we saw some improvements against Washington.
We won that game.
Obviously, we saw some improvements from the week before that, which was against Philadelphia, where we looked abysmal again.
Um, today there were some highlights. Definitely.
Uh, it seemed like we were.
It seemed like for the whole game, we were kind of out of it.
It seemed like the double game.
It was just out of reach, even though it was a tie game or we were in the lead.
But all in all, I mean, it was it was a good game.
It was just too average teams at best, kind of going at it.
Um, we saw we saw the two quarterbacks of the draft.
Baker, Mayfield and Josh on the number one overall pick in the number seven overall pick going at it for the first time in regular season.
Obviously, Baker comes out on top of a baker finished 26 for 38.
He had two touchdowns, no interceptions, which was kind of a bummer because he's leading the league in interceptions, and I really thought that Bills defense is gonna be able to pick him off a few times.
And maybe that would be the key to winning the game for them, but didn't seem to happen, but he didn't have to to throwing touchdowns, one to start the game and one toe pretty much cap the game off.
It was that first drive tow.
Jarvis Landry, who had a great game, had kind of a one off today, which was not expected, especially since they vote out back him on their team.
But we haven't really seen ah whole lot from drivers Landry at this year.
And of course, this had to be the game where he did.
Um, the lane Drew finished of nine tension for 97 yards and a touchdown, Um, and then obviously we saw we sell the capping off touchdown to beat the Bills with about a minute.
Then 30 left something on the clock Rashard Higgins touchdown in the end zone.
I was, I think, this fourth catch of the year.
First touchdown in the year two.
So I mean, we couldn't really ask a whole lot more from our defense today.
Our defense today, playing outstanding game, strutting down Baker and shutting down.
I don't want to say completely, shutting down the run game, but they did a good job with it, a cZ compared to past weeks.
Nick Chubb ran for over 100 yards.
So now that makes it three weeks in a row that we've had a running back run for over 100 yards on us, which is tough.
But, um, I mean, Trump had 20 carries, so he's going to get those yards.
He's a good running back, so he's gonna get those yards if he has 20 carry.
So I don't think it was a run game that really beat us today.
It was just our offense could not take advantage of the opportunities over hand itto um, we battled back.
I mean, that defense got us two points.
At least I was hoping maybe they could get an interception or two.
Maybe a pick six toe puts more points on the board, but they did get to get us to safety.
Which tied is 99? Um, so that was definitely big, but I just needed to see a whole lot more from that offense.
And I know Bills.
Fans there are clamored for this.
Bills Fans were so desperate for a high scoring offense that can put up 30 points game easy, and that's just not where we are yet, but we'll get there.
I have confidence that we will get there.
Um, we just don't have the pieces yet.
Ah and I I thought we were in a good spot after this offseason.
I thought that we'd have to write up the right weapons for Josh, and we did a good job with what we could get.
Um, what was in the free agent market? A.
I just don't think that we did enough.
Obviously we saw, we saw, is bringing in Devon Singletary in the draft, we saw a straight picking up Frank or in free agency.
Um, those guys have played well.
I just don't understand the offense of coordinator Brian Devil.
Um, do you think a home game as a different outcome? Katie, that is a fantastic question.
And, um, I think it is.
I think it is, but because obviously Bill's love playing in front of the in front of Bill's Mafia, But, uh, I don't know, we played.
We've played pretty well on the road so far this year.
Before this game, we're three and on the road, so we're usually a pretty good road team.
And I thought that maybe that would be a good factor.
And I mean, Bill's Mafia showed out today.
There's a lot of Bills fans in Cleveland, obviously the battle of Lake Erie.
So I thought that that wouldn't really be a big factor.
And I don't know, maybe it was I couldn't really tell how loud it was, but, um great question, Katie, Thanks for contributing here.
Um, but I just I can't I can't wrap my head around.
What office? According to Brian, Table was thinking, and what his game plan is we see last week, he hands the ball off and has 20 designed runs to Devon Singletary, 20 for the first time.
That guy's career.
He has 20 and he gets 95 yards rushing.
Last week against Washington, we say, Hey, he won that game for us Pretty much.
That was a great game.
Planning to stick with that? We need to have that as our identity for the rest of the season.
That were a run first team.
And then we come to Cleveland who is the 30th best run defense in the league, and we give Singletary eight.
Rush her eight rushes.
Michelle, thank you for the phone finger.
I appreciate that very much.
Uh, I think, uh, I hope you enjoyed the game back at home, uh, back and buff, but, uh, I just can't I don't understand why we go from 20 yards rushing to Singletary, where he had 95 yards last week.
We cut it down to eight yard.
Her eight carries for single tearing as 42 yards.
This guy averages five rushes per carry.
I don't care if he gets three consecutive two yard runs in a row.
Give this guy the ball because he's bound that break off a few big runs and get us a good field position.
Obviously, Joshua can't do everything himself, and I think that's probably we're asking too much for him.
John John threw the ball 41 times today, and that is way too much as you are a quarterback.
He is not there yet.
Josh Ellen is a raw, young talent who basically just finished it rookie year, and he has no weapons around him.
He we have John Brown, who was worth every cent that we paid him in off season.
He's He's a great player to have around Josh L.
And he's always gonna be catching the balls.
He seems to be very clutch.
He finished today forthe five catches for 77 yards, so his streak is continuing here.
So that's nine games in a row.
All nine games that we've had this year, he's has over 50 yards receiving.
Um, he is one of two players in the NFL.
It's him and Michael Thomas for the Saints.
Um, so John Brown is worth every cent that we paid him.
I love him on this offense, but besides him, Josh Allen is no reliable targets.
Cole Beasley has not been the player that he wasn't Dallas Dawson knocks.
The rookie tight end is very inconsistent this year.
We saw him have a big drop in the first half.
And then we have other guys like Robert Foster, Isaiah MacKenzie, Andre Roberts, Tyler Kroft who I forgives even on that team sometime.
And we gave that guy $18 million a year.
So this offense blows my mind.
Sometimes they make very frustrated, but I see that we have the right core.
Our offensive line look very good today.
Um, containing Myles Garrett.
He got, he's he got some pressure on Josh Alan.
But he's gonna have that.
He's Miles Garrett.
That guy's an animal out there.
But Dion Dawkins handle them well, and they handled the rest of that.
That that Cleveland defensive line? Well, um, I don't They have one sack on the day, so we should be happy with that.
Um I mean, the bills had to ***, So we're building that, um, that our defense looked outstanding today.
Like I said, we had that safety Tremaine Adams had a great game.
Excuse me? Tremaine Edmonds had the safety.
He had a big a tip on the third bound third down play where you shut down the brown.
So he did everything we could really ask for.
It's just I that offense, it kills me.
Eight carries for Devon Singletary.
Five carries for Frank Or who had 12 yards rushing and then Josh Ellen had six carries for 28 years.
Allen also had the to touch stops of the day.
The two long touchdowns.
Um, and then we had a field goal her.
Then we have the safety.
Obviously, we missed two field goals, which is an absolute killer.
Um, I mean, we needed those.
If we would have had those, we would have been sitting seven and two.
Right now, I don't want to blame Steven Housecoat because obviously he wasn't put in the best situation.
He shouldn't have been put in those situations.
He missed the one right before halftime, which I would like to say that you should be able to easily hit that.
This guy would give him a big extension.
This, uh, right before the season started.
Andi, he's he's the kicker.
That's his drive.
He's supposed to come in.
He's supposed to hit those big kicks that we need him to, and he just couldn't get it done.
Um, so I would definitely heard that Would that would have tied us going and 1/2.
And then we would have had the ball, um, after halftime.
So it would have been big if you could have hit that that field goal there.
And then obviously we look to him.
Toe hit a field goal.
The win the game for us are tied.
The game for us on Hey, Mrs, it just barely through left wide bust.
I know just like wide right for us.
But, um, it's just it's tough to watch because that's another thing with trauma. German.
Um, I think it was probably his play calling as well as Brian Table.
That last drive, I believe the head.
Maybe a minute, minute, 40 minute, 30 or something.
They were playing to send us the overtime.
They were playing to tie.
They were not playing to win.
And that kills me.
That angers me so much because you have 55 seconds on the clock, Josh, Alan goes down and you let that clock we're on you like that you let the guys huddle up and make a play and you don't get a playoff.
That's your shows that they're playing to tie the game.
They're not playing to win the game.
They're not playing to try to get it touched down and win the game and I don't know why they wouldn't take a shot for that.
Maybe they saw something in the defense that we didn't see, but I don't think so.
I think they were playing to tie playing to get the overtime and see what happens.
That's just kind of sums up everything that, um this trauma German has done in his career so far in Buffalo.
I'm a fan of him.
I like him as our head coach, but he's scared sometimes to make the big decisions like that and kind of go for it.
I would have much rather seen us take a shot and go for it rather than trust our kick with 52 yard field goal, which is obviously no gimme at all.
Um so it hurts, but we got some positives.
Take away from this.
Our defense did play very well today.
I'll leave my walls had a little bit of a bounce back game.
Um, he's been having some rough game so far in the past few weeks.
He had a good game today.
He got burned a few times.
But I mean trade what was outstanding today? Trey, Trey White was a a lock down defender on Odell Beckham.
BJ finished with five catches for 57 yards.
So I mean, he's gonna get catches.
Um, Whether Baker can get him the ball or not, they're gonna target the guy.
He's gonna get some catches but trade weighted everything that he needed to do in this game.
He almost came down with that picked, which would have been absolutely huge, but hit him in the face and then hit the fade to hit the ground.
So but you can't ask.
You can't ask any more from Trey White.
Um, he looked up.
He had, let's see, yet six total tackles and four past the defense, so Well, I couldn't ask anything more from them.
Are linebackers played while our are lying did Okay, I was kind of looking for some more pressure on Baker because that we've seen so far that if you get pressure on Baker.
That's when he makes mistakes.
That's when he throws the interceptions.
He leading the league in interceptions, so that's where we could have won the game.
We always see if if you win the turnover battle, usually win football games, so it hurts that it wasn't that wasn't the case today, But, like I said, we're still in a good spot.
Um, we're six and three.
We're still looking cut in the playoff spot.
If we look at the standings here, um, we should.
We're still in a, um, wild card spot.
I mean, the Dolphins did us a big favor today by somehow taken down the Indianapolis Colts cold, so we can thank them for sure.
But let's see if we look at the play offs.
New England's at number one, Baltimore's number two, who had a huge when they want, I think, 49 10 over the Cincinnati Houston's number three.
Four Buffaloes at five and then Pittsburgh's at six.
So Pittsburgh had a big game today.
Um, they beat the L. A Rams.
Mason Rudolph's looking good and then Rangers air closely after that was seven.
So there's a lot of teams in the mix.
There's Pittsburgh, Oakland, Indianapolis and Tennessee.
They all have kind of the same records.
Five and 45 and five.
So I mean, if the Bills, you can just keep winning games, have Miami next week should be a good bounce back game.
I mean, Miami did.
They were coming off back to back wins here.
Um, so we go to Miami that we're home against Denver.
That should be two wins.
That'll put us at eight and three.
It would be a perfect spot for us.
And then we have our Thanksgiving game against Dallas, which I'm not totally writing off Isa loss yet.
Um, they're actually playing Sunday Night football right now.
And the score is, um, Minnesota is beating Dallas 17 to 14 at halftime.
So downs is not the great super team that we were all seeing and thinking that they are, they're very beautiful.
Bills just gotta put it together.
And I don't I I hope that maybe Sean McDermott kin sit down Brian table and just yell at home or something, because he needs to get in.
Get in his mind that we need to run the ball.
We need to find an identity for that offense, whether they are a run first running gun game or just a passing offense or I don't know, but they need to figure it out.
Uh, if we're gonna stay, continue to win games because we got some tough games coming up.
We have Dallas coming up.
We have Baltimore coming up.
Steelers coming out, compatriots coming up those four games.
We need to get out of these two of them.
So we're not dead yet after a tough loss today, but we got some work to do.
Um, but I will be streaming later this week to talk about the Dolphins game next Sunday.
Hopefully big bounce back game.
But until then, I will be recorded some podcasts throughout the week for NFL unwrapped.
