Welcome in everybody.
This is a sports this year on sportscast.
There a little bit of a different type of video today as I'm going to do my game review for you guys today, as earlier today I went to a basketball game was the main black Bears versus the Harvard Crimson.
This game took poison lob.
It says Pavilion out in Allston, Massachusetts, which is a neighborhood of Boston, Mass.
Right across from the Charles River from Cambridge, Massachusetts, for the Harvard Crimson game against the main Black Bears.
And this one on some couple cold things here is that I have my ticket stub right here.
This is I always keep my ticket stub.
That's it from the Harvard basketball game.
And they got this pretty cool magnet as well from the Harvard game today.
So that's what that looks like.
Harvard basketball Magnet has all the home games on the schedule for Harvard drop this season.
So heading into this matchup, Harvard had played two games before this.
They want one and wonder the 1st 2 games of the season.
Coming into this match up as the first game of the season, they crushed m I T the score was just insane.
Here they be M I G.
On opening night, 84 to 27.
And then on Friday, they had lost the Northeastern, which is one of the teams down the road in downtown Boston.
They lost the Northeastern on Friday, 84 to 79.
So Harvard came into this game with a one on one record.
They hosted this one at lob.
It says Pavilion out in Austin, Massachusetts, when they took on the main Black Bears.
You want heading into this match up here with a one and a record winning on opening night against Merrimack College, which is a new team in Division one men's college basketball? Welcome in everybody to the sports dish on SportsCastr.
Welcome in Motor, Jason.
Thanks so much for being a part here and the Stream.
So this game was broadcast nationally on ESPN plus today.
It was a tip off Time of 2 p.
Eastern time is I actually attended the basketball game between these two teams.
So before we even started one interesting thing that note that I was looking on here as I got the line of list for both of these teams.
I have the Harvard side here with a line of list of all the players for Harvard.
I also have the side with the main black Bears on it.
But one of the interesting things they saw here with the main black Bears with their roster is that four out of the sky, five players in the starting five.
We're from international countries.
A bunch of players here in this mean Black Bears roster happened to be from international countries.
Four players for main on the team all went to the Seam Academy with each other.
They're all from international countries, and they went to an academy.
It's called Lee Academy.
It's out towards the very northern part on May northeastern part of Main up towards like Millinocket, Maine.
This is well past Bangor.
Where these players were coming from, like this is this has to be like 56 hours north of Kittery, where that's the border of New Hampshire.
These players coming well up north towards Millinocket.
Callous caribou Holtz in Maine, where that Lee Academy is out and Lee Man, it's heading kinda towards New Brunswick in that area.
But these four players were all from international countries that played for me, and they had a laundry list of players from international countries.
One of them was from Stockholm, Sweden.
That was Bill got Larson.
He was a starting lineup player for this game.
Another player from Copenhagen, Denmark.
Another one was from Serbia.
They had a couple from Serbia on their team.
They have one from London, England.
They had another additional player from Sweden and then another one from Turkey and then their point guard words from Lebanon.
So that was quite an interesting team that the mean black Bears were comprised of today.
Hey, welcome in, Eric.
Thanks so much for joining me.
So just doing my review here.
Main versus Harvard.
I actually went to the college basketball game today to see this game play out, so I'll go through the game here at first.
They got great seats, by the way, as I'll show you guys my ticket.
*** section section Thio Row J seat number six for the ticket for the Harvard Crimson in this game at home at Austin, Massachusetts.
So they took on main great seats, by the way, right behind the ESPN plus broadcasting table, which was pretty cool.
But this game was fairly close.
E very early in the game, it was fairly close.
Harvard did crush main in this game, Harvard one by 21.
But this first half it was back and forth, back and forth.
Actually, it was that type of grind out game in the first half, which was a really interesting name.
Took the lead a halftime, 31 30 Main get out to a pretty good start.
They were up 1912 in the game.
Everything was in full control from Maine.
They wanted to control the game.
They were kind of a slower tempo type team for this main black bear steam.
And if they fell from behind, this was going to be a tough game.
And that's what happened in the second half.
This type of game reminded me last year of a game in the N.
C double tournament.
It was Old Dominion versus Purdue.
Old Dominion was one of the slowest tempo type teams in all of college basketball last season, and they tried doing that in the first half against Pretty what kind of worked.
They were only losing by a couple points at halftime.
And then in the second half, Purdue absolutely took over.
That's what happens in this game earlier on today.
So from a 1,000,000 black Bears they led 19 to 12 and then Harvard after that, went on to a seven.
Is it run title? Tied it up at 19 and then they both went, grind it out, grind it out back and forth at the half time buzzer Main was up by 1.
31 30 at halftime.
Both of the teams at halftime shot the ball 43% from the floor.
And then the second half everything when just down the ropes for 1,000,000 endangers, could not hit any shot left or right.
They could not hit anything.
Constant bricks in this game for Maine.
But as far as this main team here is that they struggle mightily from three point range.
They could not hit a shot at all in the second half when it came down from three point, and that's where they were trying to base their shots in the first half.
All they could hit in this game they were the much smaller team going in against the Harvard Crimson today.
Harvard had a player number 35 Robert Beaker for Harvard.
It's six foot 11.
He's the tallest player on the team for Harvard.
And actually, he was tied for the leading score with 14 points today in this game for the Harvard Crimson, all the other on the other side from the mean Black Bears.
They're Fords were being lined up with six foot 11 players.
One of their main scores, Andrew Fleming, is only six foot seven, and he was being put to the task to guard six foot 11 players.
And the non starters on mean those players were like the tallest players on the team.
The ones that didn't start six foot nine happens to be the tallest player in the main squad, going up against six foot 11 which was tied for the leading score.
Robert Beaker in this game for the Harvard Crimson, Harvard Crimson today.
But as far as this game went down, the only reason why Mayne was able to live in this game early on is because they had second chance opportunities.
They actually got a good amount of offensive rebounds.
They be Harvard on the offensive, glass, 10 to 7 in this matchup, so mean a 10 offensive rebounds Harvard at seven offensive rebounds.
So that's the only way that Main was able to get their points inside.
The low post was because of those offensive second chance rebounds in this game.
Other than them, they tried to live from behind the arc and try to hit free throws to stay in competition against Harvard.
Dropped the entire game today, so this game was 31 30 at halftime.
And then in the second half, Man, Harvard just completely exploded.
They finally were able to get some of their low post score's going on in this game for the Harvard Crimson.
And that's where they were able to take away to gain One stat that they need to bring up here is the steals.
Like almost every single time that me was trying to bounce pass the ball inside the low post.
Harvard was there to scoop it up and steal it.
Harvard and 12 steals on mean in this game today, Main had 16 total turnovers in this game, by the way, they did have their largest lead, a seven where they pointed out earlier 19 to 12.
But after that, the Crimson were in full control.
What is good? Thanks so much.
Ames, 22 Welcome here for being a part of the SportsCastr Stream.
Just going through my Ah College basketball review today from this game, Maine vs Harvard, as it was a blow out in the second half, I have to say that as the Harvard Crimson were led by these three players in their line of number five, the point guard Rio Haskett, he dropped 14 points in this game.
He was solid from behind the arc.
He shocked about three for four from behind the three point arc in this game, five for nine from the floor.
And he was the number two player in total minutes in this game with 29 minutes leader minutes on this team for the Harvard Crimson, which Justin basking number 20 as he led the team in minutes with 37 minutes.
He only scored two points, though, but the big low post man, this has to be the senior leader in the steam.
He was solid six foot nine, solid, solid inside the low post against Maine today, meeting could not stop him in the low post.
He scored 10 points, shot the ball five for nine from the floor with basically all his work inside that low post and then also 14 points, was a player imported out a couple of minutes ago.
The number 35 players six foot 11 for Harvard, that would be Robert Baker.
He scored 14 points and added in alongside four rebounds.
So Harvard did it a bunch of ways.
Here they had multiple players chipping in points inside the lineup as they had.
They had 10 different players score points in this game.
They have, Ah, pretty deep bench there as far as scoring points from their starting lineup to their bench while main on the other side here, Main was logging significant minutes with their players, and they got tired dropped that second half.
Their players were getting tired because the point guard Sergio Eldar Witch, this guy's an international player by the way he was the bread and butter does mean Black Bears team without Sergio Eldar, which this team fell apart and he played 36 minutes out of the 40 possible tonight, the first, the first time that they took Sergio out of the game was with four minutes left to go remaining in the second half, and he put him on the bench.
He played every single one of his minutes that he was in there until the last four, which he sat in the game of Sergio Darwitz from Maine tonight.
Today, what's 5 12 from the floor? Harvard to the great job, limiting him toe one for five from three point range.
He did drop 18 points.
He was the leading scorer This game in all four says, were in that first half there for Sergio L.
And he is one of the players they talked about earlier.
An international player from the country of Lebanon.
He's one of those players that want Sali Academy and Lee Mayne alongside with his other teammates here, which would happen to be this player who is from the international country, uh, Serbia on the line up here.
That would be, well, a Joe Ratkovich, as he was a member of the team as well, but he didn't score any points in 12 minutes.
Also, another player was netted show print job.
It says he is from the country of Serbia.
He also went to Lee Academy.
He scored 11 points and he dropped the double double from the mean Black Bears in this game.
11 points, 12 rebounds, but still not enough going up against the Harvard Crimson in this one to the big point of the game.
Tons and tons of steals for the Harvard Crimson.
That's how they were able to force turnovers and score buckets off the fast break.
Also, it was just a clash between two different stylistic basketball teams.
Harvard loves to play it fast.
What I saw from today, while Maine is more relaxed, where their point guard, Sergio Eldar witch, let the ball in his hands and he can take the rest of the work in Maine is one of those teams that kept on just jacking up shots from behind New York.
There are kind of a smaller team, so they can't really beat you inside when you have taller players like Harvard did in the game today.
So they were trying to live by the perimeter.
They were able to get by in the first half, but in the second half they had tons of trouble hitting shots throughout the second half of this ball game.
And another thing in the second half was the defense of problems for me, and they could just not hunker down defensively.
In the Harvard Crimson, Harvard threw down these nasty dunks, the windmill one handed jam junks left and right in the second half.
I believe Harvard had like four or five dunks in the second half, just tearing up the rack for sure.
They were just going until lean dribble drive.
Nobody was there with the rotation whatsoever for Means defense and Harvard, just empty.
Lean took in themselves.
The gym right through and put in the one ahead of their two handed gems to the final score of this game was Harvard 67.
Main 46 of the Harvard Crimson came out 21 point Victor's in this battle, but it was a one point lead by me and heading into halftime, totally the second half, though Harvard outscored mean in the second half, 37 to 15 as far as the shooting percentages from the floor in this game means shooting percentage was in the first half, 43%.
It dropped to a team total 34% throughout the entire game.
They could not hit a shot in the second half.
It was very difficult for them up against the Harvard defense.
While Harvard shot the ball, 53% dated a spectacular job in a game.
Welcome, guys over to the sports dish on SportsCastr Emily Texas, Y'all, Jimmy Jazz and welcome my man, Sam.
Thanks so much for joining me.
So, yeah, I went to the game today.
Harvard versus Main.
Got some pretty cool items here.
Got a nice magnet here for men's college basketball from Harvard outs.
Pretty cold hazards.
Whole 2020 game schedule.
And it got my ticket that they always save.
Save all my tickets from all the ball games that go to and then my lineup sheet hear from both of these teams.
But it was all Harvard in the second half of this one.
I think I basically explained all of it here on the stream for you guys, so that is basically it.
That is my review of Harvard versus Main today from Austin, Massachusetts.
I went to the lob it says, put going in the home of the Harvard Crimson I hope to goto some more college basketball games this year. Definitely.
I want to catch a game at the University of Rhode Island.
See the Rams team this season.
I went to a game at Brown last year.
That was pretty cool.
