So bye week Blues were in the bye week.
Eagles are invited.
What after the bite.
What looms after that? What? Patriots and Seahawks.
But before we get to the Patriots and Seahawks, let's kind of go through what's happened the last couple weeks as this video is just gonna be filled with a lot of randomness.
All right, so take away from the last two weeks.
So you had a lot of the Eagles fan base.
I'd say about more than 69% of the fan base thought that the season was over about 3 to 4 weeks ago.
Now, all of a sudden, that 69% isn't so much because the Eagles have some hope heading into the bye after two straight victories.
But to those victories warrant, I hope.
All right, so let's get into it and kind of let's discuss what we've seen out of last two weeks.
Because if you remember, prior to these two games, the Eagles got waxed by the Vikings and the Cowboys.
So they got waxed, and now they face two teams with pretty bad quarterback.
So, you know, did they really beat anybody here? What's there to take away from these games? All right, well, I'm gonna tell you, okay? So encouraging signs that I've been seeing If you can take away the fact that they have faced Josh, Alan and Mitch Strabinsky in the last two weeks, The fact that the defensive line has registered seven sacks into it is a big deal.
Whereas prior, this team wasn't even registering a sack of game, if you took take away the jet ski where the Eagles had 10 sacks in that contest, they were not getting any penetration from the defensive line whatsoever.
If you remember back in Week one, when they played Case Keenum and the no name receivers of the Redskins case, Keenum had a clean pocket all day to throw wide receivers like Terry McLaren were getting wide open.
Well, it's not really the case as much anymore.
So you have the returning jail in Mills.
Ronald Darby looks better than he has earlier in the season, and that has resulted into better secondary place.
So defensive line is helping out the secondary.
And then you have also had some key pieces back, which is helping as well.
The other thing that has happened now, they still have to clean this up, but third and long defense.
So the issue here for the entire season was the lack of pressure was not allowing the defense to get off the field on third down.
So a lot of third and Longs picks picked up.
I don't have the third and six numbers in front of me, but if you've been watching my Eagle's YouTube channel are and just follow my stuff on the gambler, uh, I mean the numbers haven't been pretty.
Um, so we're there with that, Uh, the other thing I want to discuss is offensively and what I'm seeing, you know, in terms of the running game because the loss of the Sean Jackson hurts it.
It's it's awful, and everyone in Philadelphia is freaking out because there's a lack of depth at wide receiver.
But what Doug Peterson is done, he's messed this lack of depth by utilizing his 12 personnel, a lot of 12 personnel packages.
Eso It was gonna be a big thing heading into the season.
But it's become even more imperative now because Sean Jackson has hurt.
Nobody else is stepping up.
Nelson Agler is having a down year.
So Zach Ertz, Dallas gotta really getting involved in the passing game.
And the other thing that's happening is Mile Sanders getting involved as well.
So essentially three of your top four targets aren't even wide receivers.
Not even wide receivers on the Eagle Lester right now, so they're able to move the ball now.
It's not like they don't have this ah, gun slinging offense at the moment.
They're very slow and methodical, and, you know, I think, Ah, fan Philadelphia right now don't really know that this offense at the moment is predicated on the run.
It's predicated on the offensive line.
Everybody is worried about the loss of the Sean Jackson.
Everybody's worried about the law sent receiver, but they're moving the ball on the ground.
And as long as they get off the fast starts, which they weren't earlier in the season, if you remember that because each and every week Eagles were getting down 10 14 17 to 3 24 to 3 each and every week and within that occurs well, you can't ride running game.
You have to start throwing from behind.
And the Eagles, thrown from behind this season, just really hasn't worked out because they don't really have the weapons.
So they have to be slow and methodical.
That's how they're winning games. They've always been slow.
So you think about the average football game you got about 12 possessions in eagles.
Wanna play about 8 to 10 possessions again when they're rolling their about eight tonight, And that's what they've been the last couple of weeks.
They are about efficiency on third down, moving the ball slowly, methodically keeping the defense fresh and then converting in red zone.
That's what they did in 2017.
They're starting to do it a little bit of it now, but test away after by like I was talking about in the title of this show.
All right, so we kind of discussed the last two weeks here, where the defensive line looks a little bit better.
Secondary play has been a little bit better, but now you gotta play New England and you gotta play Seattle.
The reason why there is hope is because what I just talked about just Prior Jordan, Jordan, Howard and this offensive line I mean, the fact that they were able to just control the line of scrimmage against Chicago was very impressive.
That front 71 of the best run defense, is in the leak.
I mean, they're top three, and the Eagles were able to do essentially whatever they wanted to do with their running game.
And if they were able to run the ball against the Bears, then they're **** sure gonna be able to run the ball against the Patriots and the Seahawks, both teams allowing 4.
7 yards per carry, which is, I believe, type for six.
Worst in the NFL, tied for six works.
This this historical Patriots defense, which everyone was talking about, hasn't really stopped the run this year, what the thing is.
The Patriots were getting up so quickly and all of these games that teams had to stop running the ball.
Well, now, as we saw the Ravens, Ravens ran the ball over, and this was something that teams did last year against the Patriots as well.
So that's gonna be something that I totally expect the Eagles to do when they play him next Sunday.
They're gonna run Jordan Howard early and often.
And as long as you know, they got off to a better start, which isn't really what they've been doing this year.
I think the Eagles, we're gonna win this football.
I think you're gonna beat the Patriots.
And then I think the tougher game might actually be Seattle.
I think the Eagles match up very well with the Patriots.
Now it's We'll see if again, the defense has taking a turn for better because, as we discussed earlier in the video, you face Josh.
Alan, you faced Mitchell Robiskie.
Well, now you've got Tom Brady and Russell with busted.
So is the defense really improved? Are the things that I'm seeing actually what I'm seeing the last two weeks? Because the complaints are.
Well, they haven't faced good quarterbacks, and it's true.
Offense is a good receiving course.
Eagles struggle against teams with good quarterbacks and good depth at wide receiver teams like the Vikings.
Adam feeling great receivers.
Not gonna be easily combated with with this eagle second, Jerry, the way it is now, uh, moving on the Seattle I think Seattle's gonna be a little bit tougher because the Eagles really do struggle with mobile quarterbacks.
And they've always struggled with Russell Wilson.
And, ah, you know, they got some threats of wide receiver, not to the extent of maybe the Vikings.
But, you know, Tyler Lockett, um, spoke out now in blanket decay.
Metcalf, who the Eagles maybe should have picked in the NFL draft on they just brought in job scored in.
So, uh, and then you got the Patriots who, Julian Edelman and then Mohammad Sanu are not really much else.
So, uh, you know, we'll see.
I have thought that the Patriots have been overrated all season long.
Now the thing is, is the depth of the A f.
Isn't it great they have CD? ******* is just not a good conference.
It's not as good as the NFC.
Um, I mean, while I think New England is overrated, I still think that they're gonna get to the Super Bowl just because the lack competition the only team that I can really, uh, envision beating them in Foxboro is born because they can run the football.
All right, Uh, what else? I mean, that's That's essentially, ah, lot of what I wanted to get into.
I think, um, you know, we're really gonna find out about the Eagles after the bye week.
But then after the two games against the Patriots and Seahawks, well, after that, it gets a lot easier.
And if you can somehow win these two games against New England in Seattle, a split is, you know, obviously something that it's not that it's the goal, but maybe maybe realistic thing.
Um, but if you can win both of those games, you're setting yourself up very nicely for the rest of this season.
Very, very nicely.
So you have the Cowboys coming up at home in the last five games.
But besides that, you play the Giants twice.
It's the Redskins and the Dolphins.
That's your schedule for the Eagles.
So definitely some winnable games.
Won't you get past least? All right, so that's it for me.
I'm a tree Infect you from Philly.
