Lost else in the fantasy football community to that's been so awesome with me and Adam and everything like that.
So let's get into a little bit of episode 20 of FFB unwrapped with Adam Stark and Perry Aston and every poor us.
Our special guests, as well as a SportsCastr string, were trying out something new today, and it's a very, very cool set up for us.
So, for let's start off with some fantasy football strategy.
What's going on with how we're looking towards the playoffs right now? At Week nine, we're looking for how we can improve our teams, how we can go and really make moves forward for fantasy football purposes.
Since it's different than NFL.
The week's 15 and 16 for NFL are playoffs for fantasy football 14.
Well, yeah, some stuff start 14 15 really depends on the set up that you have for your league.
But that's when we're looking towards who has favorable matchups and which guys were in the right spots to lead you into success because at the end of the day, as long as you make the playoffs, you're gonna find a way to squeak it out.
You gotta prepare your roster for that.
As long as you're in striking distance.
This is now a time where, at least for me, there's two different strategies for that I'm gonna use personally and we're all going to kind of get into ours.
But I just want to start before we get into that.
Want to say hello to Edwin and thank you again for joining all of our streams.
Jerry's kid, You're here with me.
Live will give you a following.
Check your stuff out later, but yeah.
What's up, everyone? Thank you so much for joining the stream and podcast being here with us today.
Such a cool hybrid for us.
Yeah, I'm doing all right.
Doing the same thing over here is probably been a little bit of radio silence on My people are so strong trickling in here for the street.
But I'm glad you guys were having on you.
Guys are making news and after? Yeah, most definitely.
And like he said, a lot of moves going on.
Unwrap sports Network.
All of our departments are really changing now, and it's a very exciting time for us.
So, um, I'm like he said, this is a good time to be here.
A good time to be together, and we're very, very excited.
So let's get into our strategies.
Adam, I'm gonna have you kind of start with your outlook on fantasy football at this point in time of the season. Week nine.
How are you looking at things? What's your mindset? What are some of the strategies? What do you recommend to our people? You're listening? Yes.
So one of the biggest things is I've had a few people asked me, What do I do with the Patriots defense? And it's a great question because obviously the Patriots defense has probably gotten you to, you know, a record that's around five and 36 and 271 or even eight? No.
So if you have a patient's defense, you're, you know, really happy right now.
But the question is, can you capitalize even more off of that? And I believe so.
I think this is the right time to sell on the Patriots defense there.
I'm not sure how much higher how many more points their defense can't score.
I've been saying this week for a couple weeks now, and they have been, you know, outscoring themselves, but I think it's just come to a time where they're gonna start playing tougher quarterbacks.
They play Lamar Jackson this week and it only gets tougher.
They have their bye week next week so you could sell off.
You could skip their bye week.
Then they play Philly, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City.
And then the only good part I will say, is weeks 15 and 16 that place since that in Buffalo.
So if you're 100% confident, your eight now, then perhaps hold on to the Patriots deep.
But if you're five and three, you see other contenders starting toe run up on you, and you might want to trade the Patriots defense and stream.
Just trying to get I upgrade on a running back or a wide receiver, even right, and like what? Adam's staying here.
You got to take advantage of whoever has value for you currently.
So sell high when you can at this point in the season and go buy low when you can.
Of course, you need to be strategic with how you're going about that and for me, if I'm at a point where, like you said maybe four and 45 and three and I have a not deep roster but enough to fill up my starting lineup, it's not the most spectacular thing I'm looking for, how I can sell on one of my stars and make that roster deeper to get that getting ready for the playoffs, adding that ammunition to try and get ready for those bye weeks, those potential injuries and have the guys that you can lean on because towards the end of the year, getting the gems off the waiver wire, things like that.
It's a lot harder barring injury and things like that.
But it's much harder, of course.
And speaking of injuries, want to kind of shoot that over to you, Edwin and again, Thank you so much for joining us at F F student Doc on Twitter.
Student Doc Us End here on SportsCastr.
Want kind of ask you where your head's at with fantasy football? What you're kind of trying to do at this point in time that week. Nine.
Even some personal experiences.
How are some of your team's doing? Are you doing anything personally to prepare for the playoffs right now? Yeah, that's a really good question.
I think you guys get on a lot of what I was.
What I would say is, right now, getting in a league where I'm 44 and I have I've been streaming defense is all year.
The problem I'm running now is my biggest sort of picked up on that, and now they all Ross.
One depends some of them have to defense is it makes it more difficult to string.
Defense is not something you do right.
What would do if I were in a position where, for example, like what you trade away the Patriotsdefense? That's more than likely what what's going on with me is more than likely not happening in your league.
A lot of people don't like defense's, but it's such a volatile.
But in the end, you know the difference between the numbers.
Defense in the number 80 fences, like a matter of maybe a top down two or three, right? Exactly.
So you trade away the Patriots maybe find a defense that can carry you through the playoffs, for example? I know that you just have to target teams.
So right now I'm actually looking at before this week.
Fortunately, before the dolphin started Army, the jet started to look terrible.
Gets the Dolphins this week.
They had a really cake schedule and they still do.
But I just don't know confidence.
I have in the Jets anyway.
Roster the deaths this week, and I'm actually starting the Dallas Cowboys defense.
But the Jazz have mark.
Do you agree really good matchups that are coming down the pike here during the playoffs? That's one strategy, right? I totally see where your head's at with that, and I am a guy that streams.
Defense is mainly I'm in the same boat, actually have the Cowboys defense in quite a few leagues that I was able to pick up this week.
I was between the Bills and the Cowboys were really my money makers for you know who I will look to stream for.
Match up, of course, the Bills with Washington and with the Cowboys playing the Giants on Monday Night Football, those air, too favorable matchups for about those defense is a good potential for a lot of turnovers, regardless of the fact that Daniel Jones is going to get a lot of yardage and things like that.
Regardless of the fact that Dwayne Haskins has big playability, it's still the fact that you always are aware that young quarterbacks are gonna make mistakes and defense is there gonna capitalize on on that for you, for fantasy football.
And I want to take a quick pause to thank everyone for joining our streams.
We do have some new people are gonna take a second toe.
Thank everyone on my end.
I'm gonna have you guys do the same.
And we all kind of different people that are coming in here like we said, What? Jerry's kid, he was here joining us.
He gave us a tip of 50 coins.
So thank you so much.
We appreciate that Brandon Wolf clean us.
And thank you so much brandy for joining our stream.
One of our guys here.
I just really appreciate you guys, Adam, anybody that you want to start on your strewn. Yeah, for sure.
I got weak based one.
No one should get multiple things for us.
Take me 20 tickets.
That was very kind of you.
We also got Dave with the dolphins is on up trying to listen and get some.
How are you feeling today, man? Real quick.
Don't like Hey, how are you? It's a great day.
Haven't said that all year.
It's magic is finally starting to come around.
All right. That's ever anyone on your stream.
You want to say anything to? Yeah, I was just saying that I have got, you know, saying hi semi semi pro us.
That's one of my guys.
Cory easily he actually jump into my stream.
Right? E think it's jumping in all of our streams.
He's finding a way to save the love.
Okay, I didn't know that was I didn't know that was handled then. David.
96 women, Joe, Just to say hi to them when I had you guys.
I mean, you guys, but yeah, well, no, thank you guys all again.
So much for streaming.
We're gonna continue going.
Obviously, more and more people are gonna keep filtering in, so we'll take some pit stops and thank everyone for joining us.
And anyone that is interacted with us continue to ask questions so that we can continue moving this podcast in different directions.
Engaged in some awesome debates with you guys.
Answers starting, sit stuff.
If you have injuries specific things, we have Edwin here who is an expert with that give you the best ****ysis around.
He's our guy or one stop shop for anything injury wise.
You've been doing a little bit of basketball, not in the same capacity, but with that coming through any kind of injury in the sports world, you can go to him and give him the breakdown of it.
He could do a little bit of research on the specifics of it, and his knowledge is gonna carry you there and give you that knowledge.
So thank you again.
So much for joining us as one in such a pleasure having you here, man.
So I'm gonna talk about another strategy for me.
On the contrary to my original one for beefing up for the fantasy play offs that are coming up sooner rather than later.
It's really gonna hit you in the face. This comes quick.
As you guys know, Week nine, already here and with fantasy football too much shorter season than NFL, of course, with, um, you know, ending shorter for fantasy playoffs.
So for my end, if your team is pretty deep right now, you have an extremely deep team.
No one that really stands out that you could write home about that is, has the potential to win you a week by himself.
You need to find a way to bundle up some of that death that you have and go find a superstar.
Go get someone that is on a bye week coming up to where someone's worried that they can't afford to not have that, because that is more valuable when we get to this point of the season.
Every week matters if your guy already had is by and your five and three is a lot different than if you're five and three and your star player, as is by next week.
So you also need to account that people are thinking that same way, and you can use that as a bargaining chip.
So that's where I'm gonna think I should look to add two guys that maybe had a really good performance this week, or I could really convince them when I'm talking them about the trade on the performances that they've had all year.
For example, earlier in the year I tried the package, Tyler Lockett and John Brown go for a top top end wide receiver, so that's the kind of route that I would go for when you're looking to beef up your team for the fantasy class, not gain the depth.
But on the contrary, where you can get rid of that death, gain off value, like you guys said, if you could package a player and a defense like someone in the media with defense, they're attracted to the Patriots defense of the 40 Niners.
You get packaged out with a guy that goes off one week, it gets 25 points and you could capitalize on that.
But you don't think he may continue to repeat those performances Sell high.
Go get that superstar, bringing that firepower.
Chances are when it counts late in the season, these big name guys that may not have performed at the same level as you next come to expect are going to step it up for their teams are gonna be in playoff contention.
It's a different kind of game.
And with that being said, also, look for guys that are on winning football teams.
You'll want crappy football teams to cause you want garbage time.
You want things like that.
But for fantasy football, I want guys that not the undefeated teams were.
They have the potential of C and you're sitting some other guys.
But maybe you know, teams that are in the hunt.
Those who will buy my prime teams where I look for stars, they're going to go get because they're gonna be playing.
They're gonna be going all 4/4 fully starting their guys, and there's no potential of he got sad because they're in the driver's seat.
So be strategic.
Really? Look for the schedules coming up, for example.
Adam here has schedules up in front of him.
He does his research.
Make sure you guys are doing yours as well.
We need to be looking forward and seeing how the matchups are looking for the playoffs.
So that should be an indicator of who you should be going for in the trade market right now, Edwin.
So is there anything else you want to add in regards to your fantasy playoff strategy or anything like that before we start diving to some injuries? Yeah, so sort of, uh, we touched on this A little bit of what you do with your roster.
This is the season we've won into it at the time.
That especially now is the time to handcuff.
You need to start looking at your running backs, especially who on average, missed one or two games due to injury every season.
So if you're looking at your your talk by, let's say you have doubt Cook, who hasn't missed any games, I have your cake and you're saying you're sort of in your head saying, Well, it might not be the case, but technically speaking, according to this six, he might this game or two down the road.
What you I was wondering when you threw him on your bench because he's gonna be He's gonna be one of those guys that's going to step up and you get to fill that role is obviously not at this house.
That is Dalvin Cook, but he's still in a position to where l'm cook goes down, he's gonna get a bunch of snaps and another do that I would have to, especially if you're a former owner.
Is frightful arms debt.
Who obviously when you're looking at running back here, that's you need to look get okay, What is personal with step sharks? A second of all does this person have a clear path to taking the rest of the volume and think Well, Armstead is in that even more so that better Madison eyes in a position where he would literally probably 100 again, not as talented as letter for Net, but that gives you insurance.
That gives you someone to use at the end of this season if something were to happen, because you have to remember, you don't burn the fantasy playoffs.
But if Week 13 14 come for a team, that's sort of medical thing on NFL team, that's coasting vision.
You know there may be two or three games ahead, and they don't really one for you a random week 13 or 14 on divisional game or something.
It's a very, very high probability that it can sit them and just play the backup.
So picking up your running backs cuts their their handcuffs.
Now is the season.
Now is the time to do that.
Not weak or not.
We too, but now, right, right.
I totally handcuffing is a necessity.
At this point this season.
I'm affording owner.
I'm a Camara owner.
You know, those are the kind of guys that you need to be looking for who's up next because you don't want to wait until the time comes. Knock on wood.
I know that some of these guys go down when it counts, and you need to take that chance that you can get there, back up on the waiver wire or that you can go and get lucky and just be able to pick him up.
The chances of that are gonna be very tough.
And I want to shout out Paul and Broncos 19 for joining the broadcast.
Thank you so much, Adam.
And you just really as well let me be Frank.
Thanks for the thumbs up.
And I think you actually and, uh, my mom for joined the broadcast.
Mom, what's up? Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Perri.
It's so I'm taking care of your son here.
So But yeah, it's definitely such a pleasure having Adam here in California, less able to do our live streaming watching football today.
Get our head shots done for the Web site.
For all of our other professional reasons, moving forward with the network like Edwin alluded to earlier.
We have so much going on at the network right now.
Ah, lot of departments that are forming the new ones.
We have bets unwrapped.
If you guys were gambling fans betting fans.
You guys now have a department from us dedicated to you, three different guys that have meant a lot to us, that the network heading that up got already a nice crew contributors and other head people coming in to help us and give you guys the right advice to help you guys make some money.
So that's where we're looking at.
That's one of our main things right now that we're looking towards on.
We're very excited about that.
Also unwrapped University.
It's no more college football and wrap all of college sports in one place, so it's definitely a really cool bit of news for us.
And like we said, Adam here is now our director of fantasy sports, fully making him that official title.
And with Edwin here, we're really, really excited to have him more and more involved with our fantasy department in particularly with the podcast and streams and Adam here to make sure that you're always getting the best injury news possible from us at Unwrap Sports and our best source is gonna be coming from him right there.
Maybe we get a little team for him and see how we you know, get going.
Maybe make a little medical fantasy team.
That would be really, really cool.
So, uh, yeah, I want to ask you out of anything else that you have right now for, you know, fantasy football strategy that you want to add before we start diving this and injuries with Edwina Beer.
Yeah, just touching up on what everyone was saying is in the hand.
Coffee? Yes, it's Now is the time to Hank up.
There's guys like racquetball.
Armstead, You mentioned who's a phenomenal grab.
He's already getting a little production and, you know, you see him get it passes and targets from Minshew when he's the backup.
So I think when for night If he does go down and not to mention for nets been kind of injury prone type guy, not bald guys for me days before their own or multiple leagues.
Not I would I could service.
He's been playing a lot of snaps, had been as a lot of work.
So at any moment, I think that legs like me, whatever something could pop and rifle arm says the next man up.
And I think same thing goes for down cook we've seen those guys you know kind of carry their team being the real big workforce, Russian leaders and with running backs, their legs are, you know, very, very fragile.
I guess longer the season goes on.
So I think as we get towards the end of the season, it's a great idea to, you know, drop a guy like there's guys with Kenny Stills out there, you know, just like your 2nd 3rd string wide receivers trying to name a few Top top my head like Sean Jackson.
He's just so injury prone.
I feel that if you really have to solid receivers and they've already had their pies, then just fill your bench with handcuffs.
You know, if you're past your bye weeks with your stars, just handcuffed, handcuffed and, yeah, we got semi pro us and Corey, he's on my stream.
Says Madison's the best handcuff.
I totally agree with all of you guys were all kind of trying on the same note here.
When you have a guy that's been injury prone in the past, and even if not even if you're the guy that's fully healthy and you're getting to a point where you don't need a full bench of guys with upside.
You just need to protect the guys that you have on the roster that you built moving forward.
And this is Week nine.
There's upside that you still should be looking at.
But we're kind of giving you that Heads up now of what you should be looking towards because you're weak.
12 comes around.
This is a completely different story that there is no more upside on your badge.
It's strictly people that can fill in for your buys.
People that were eligible to be in the starting lineup, you know, that are competent to be there or hang us something along those lines.
So that's my strategy in particular, and it sounds like you guys as well, and we're gonna start diving into some injuries right now.
And again, Thank you so much for joining us.
Let's plug our unwrapped place for us.
You're our portal that you can find all of our streams.
SportsCastr dot com slash unwrapped.
Find any of us with a U.
S N at the end of our name.
You know it's gonna be a phenomenal scream, having a lot of fun with this and We're all putting out different types of content.
We actually have some nd a spot opening up this month.
So we're gonna be very active with basketball as well.
Like I said, with all the new departments for me and everything strengthening on our end, we're really starting to shift our focus toe, improve here and give you guys even more content and even more diversity, and continue to bring more more faces with the U. S.
And at the end of their name to SportsCastr to give you guys more videos and thank you again for being such amazing group.
Let's start talking some injuries.
Let's get into your bread and butter on again.
Thank you for taking the time to talk injuries with us.
We know you are a busy man, so let's get into the first injury, which is a very interesting conversation.
So we'll talk the injury, But also the situation is well, Cam knew, and this is one that I think we're all a bit upset about.
Um, we had Andrew Luck's situation go down this year, seeing a guy that has to walk away because of injuries and the mental grind of recovering from those injuries, and it's looking like, unfortunately, we have a somewhat similar situation, and that's breaks my heart to see by ever.
I'm gonna put the ball in your court here, a little bit of your expertise about his particular injury, what's best for him at this point, his career.
Just from a medical standpoint, I kind of want to hear your perspective on what's next for Cam Newton, or, if there's a timetable, all that looks realistic for him to come back fully healthy.
So that's good questions.
Good way to frame it.
In terms of the mental side, I think it's too.
Too often it gets ignored, especially for camp tunes.
Let's start from the beginning.
What's called a list for? So it's right on the inside of your foot in the middle of your foot, it anywhere.
Between that, you're basically first through third, uh, toes, sort of.
The metatarsal heads political, so those either head, so he probably doesn't have a fracture.
I don't think he has a problem simply because they didn't say that they wanted to go in and search like surgically.
After eight weeks of resting that they're not to do anything for it.
So I don't imagine that there's a fracture there.
I don't imagine that there's ligament damage.
I'm starting to think, and I'm a little concerned that he actually has some sort of a generation, right.
I saw that he doesn't need surgery, so at that point, it doesn't look like something that needs to be fixed right away or even down the line.
Is this something that's, I don't know if it's not something he can fix completely? Is this something that might linger forever like? I don't really know the specifics to the injury.
It sounds worrisome, to be honest.
Yeah, so it's definitely something once, once you get past the stage of, you know, he's at two months, three.
You know he's moving on this three months that he's had this injury.
You know what happened initially in August.
What I'm Sydney is that he's had his recurring injury for for years now and do their his size and play the way he plays sort of are are are at risk for that.
Pendrick is the middle of your foot, sort of not fragile, but it's not an ideal place to take force through.
And so this injury that he has now like like I was saying is I'm starting to think that it's more of like a talk early situation.
You can have two generation.
You have osteoarthritis, any 20 body if he has about osteoarthritis.
RC Plus, you are three component in that part of this, but it's not going anywhere.
It's not. It's not changed anytime soon.
Um, that's That's the highest on my theory has the highest thing that's that's on my list in terms of what I think is going on simply because things don't take this long to heal.
And we heal up that Benson possessions Air Clean is memorized clean, but he's still having mean that tells me that there's something chronic starting to develop on DSO.
Yeah, this is definitely something that I doubt we see Cam Newton this year.
Yeah, I was gonna say I don't see a reality to where can return? That's honestly that sucks for being the most because I was a huge Cam Newton Abbot kit and this is a big part because I love Kim Noon on.
Then the fantasy footballers were back in the end.
This one Jason Moore and I think, Andy Hollywood.
We're both big renewed fans.
So I'm thinking this guy's beat stud draft him on six different teams and, uh, the only games I started him in.
He pretty much cost to be the game because he scored like, 12 points.
Then six points.
All right, just yeah, no, we're bubbled in those games, too, and that's the problem.
I think that I don't think you'll see him this year.
I think if you do, it's gonna be in a limited.
I don't even know why they would even put him out on a limited capacity like That's not gonna help.
Not to mention Kyle Island's about to get another win to against the solid Titans team.
So he good bounce back went after, you know, just being obliterate against the good 40 Niners defense and kind of a little wake up call and back into the NFL, so to speak.
But I believe he's really starting to calm things down and get in tow.
NFL starting quarterback, right? I mean, they got lucky with him.
They also drafted Will Greer, a cz well, so he's injured.
But they did invest in the quarterback position.
I think they knew something was up.
Obviously, the team isn't gonna be completely in the dark.
So I'm assuming that they had a feeling that his injuries may have been worse than we thought, or just the multitude of injuries is concerning for the future.
And, like we all keep saying, Cam Newton, I think eventually can become a quarterback again.
That's productive in the NFL, but he'll never be Cam Newton again.
He'll never Superman dive over piles and just be that Matt Truck that's coming by that you have to just be in awe about it's no longer like that.
I'll just be a big pocket passer that we'll have to run when absolutely necessary.
But it's gonna be scary every time he runs.
We're all gonna be holding our breath and hoping something doesn't happen, and I don't know if that's a career that he wants to have.
I mean, most definitely wasn't the career that Andrew look, you know, wanted to have so and we'll talk a little bit more about if he didn't want to fully recover, go about whatever kind of process this would be.
How much of the old Canyon.
Could we see return in regards to mobility? Do you think if obviously the mental thing passes, he's able to go back out there with the same kind of head space? How do you feel he can? How quickly do you think he can get all of his athleticism back? Or do you think it's just a down kind of a down clad from here? Yeah, it's tough to say that.
It's exactly what I think is going on with No way, if that's actually going on with him.
I don't see a world where Cam Newton is.
What was he used to be? Because the same reason that you that you see happening with Talk girl, you know, really has a oh, a Disney.
And essentially that means that he is gonna ****e, candle, wax and wane.
Ultimately, when you have osteoarthritis, it's a progressive condition.
Unfortunately, when you're a professional athlete, Nelly athlete, the way to camp newness, and the fact that he's 30 years old is also something you take into consideration.
It's not so much that he's not gonna be ableto plow over people or anything like that.
I'm more concerned that if he comes back.
He's gonna you know, it's gonna be his his, uh, steps.
You know, he's gonna have to sort of re adjust how he drops back.
How quickly does he drop back? What is his throwing motion look like? Is he leaning into that foot? I think what? You hit it.
You hit it on the head or just a little bit ago.
When you said like if he comes back, it's not gonna be, You know, we can't do that. We know.
But at this point, it's not that I would just say that it is not really shouldn't be surprising.
And it's It's not a shame for a 30 year old you potentially have is this arthritic condition that's progressive and just starts to decline.
Everybody declines except LeBron James.
He's 34 years old and still got guys in, and it's a good time in Los Angeles right now, and we're isn't enough.
Me and Adam are both on our laptops right now doing the streaming.
I don't know why I keep saying Ottawa, Canada for our location, I guess.
I guess for Rapid Ottawa.
So I'm shouting to everyone out there.
You're repping you guys today but we are in Los Angeles for usual and Edwin over there doing histories but super weird with the streaming location.
But so what kind of dive into a little bit more before we move on to the next injury, just with Cam Newton? Do you think this is gonna be an Andrew Luck situation? Adam, do you think by the end of the year, is there What's the chance that he retires? Like I want to put that possibility? Other? Um, I was 25% so I give, you know, an option, but I'm not confident on it.
I think certainly he can retire it up.
He's obviously done enough in his career where he would be worn out and just ready to hang it up.
He doesn't really need are to achieve any more stats.
He's made a Super Bowl one an M v p.
So ah, few accomplishments.
But I think Kim Newton is gonna come back next year, just not for the Panthers.
I think he's gonna be on a different team.
Um, Kyle Allen has shown that, you know, he could start to take over this team.
They have a young quarterback of will career.
And I think there's a lot of no quarterback GT teams out there that could use a veteran quarterback.
So what? That means that name a few of these teams.
I kinda wanna hear what I know about the bat.
I think Broncos, you know, they try that with Flacco.
And I like the Broncos.
The payers, Those are probably the two biggest ones.
You titans, right? Yeah. 10.
Doing well, though.
So give him credit for taking advantage of the opportunity.
But maybe even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, like do they continue with Jameis? Winston passed this year.
I I'm not so sure about it.
They're gonna be in a predicament where they're gonna have to make that decision.
Just like Tennessee already made theirs with with Mariana.
So I am resented the teams that come off to the top of your head.
That might be a good fit for Cam Newton.
If you were on the move Denver Broncos.
Yeah, that's yeah.
That's kind of what was the first thing that popped into my head.
Hey, it could be a team, that sort of one piece way.
That makes sense.
Uh, lesser version of the of the pain, Manny situation.
I mean, pay Mandy's I mean, God, he could have retired the year they want Super Bowl like it wouldn't be surprising, but I think that it needs to be a team that, uh, like I said is maybe a quarterback away, a game manager away.
But court team, who has a really solid defense, good pieces around the offense.
I mean, even and I joke about it and it's funny, But, you know, you're percent got hurt today.
Who knows what's going on there? Uh, you know, maybe he goes to the hell's free, You know, that's sort of not a team.
I don't necessarily.
They did just give him an extension.
So that's the only thing that drives me away from that, right? Right? Yeah. Yeah.
And Noone's contract ends in 28 20.
I believe you're looking at right now.
You got one year left on the deal after this year.
So it it's not like he's got a 20 years in the kind of money left.
So it's I mean, it's not out of the realm of possibilities for be trained unity.
All right, guys, we got some breaking news here.
The Dolphins have just won their first game, defeating the Jets.
So now this is very, very funny.
Now, the Jets tactically have the worst record in the NFL or are in line for that first overall pick.
So we all thought it was gonna be the Dolphins, But not the Jets are right into this tank, right? Oh, this is a tank race.
We got Cincinnati and then we got Dolphin Cincinnati, Week 16.
Take the Redskins air very much, and I take no, Actually, there's a solid or some of tossing this way.
We need to not see Representatives, Uh, all right, moving on to our next injury or injured player, I should say, quarterback and when? So we're gonna talk about the biggest name out there and that's Pat Mahomes.
He was questionable to play.
We saw, you know, he was warming up in practice, and it seemed like he really wanted to get out there.
But in the end, this was obviously a coach's decision toe.
You know, just hold them out one more week.
But do you think Pat Mahomes comes back next week because it's right before their bias? Well, so if they hold him out next week.
Then he's got even another week of rest.
Or do you think if he's good to go, they're gonna fire back in? I think if he's gonna go well, you know, I say that.
But as we were talking, just medical, I watched a ****er hit vehicle back.
If you want more, beat the Vikings.
They took down a very good Vikings team.
So that's how you end the fighting that bores.
They don't stick down here in Rocker.
Uh, So, yeah, I think that what we had it was in weeks step.
So I think my next by next week is gonna be a solid 24 days or so 25 days since injury happened.
I think that he'll be out in a place where it's still gonna be a gametime call.
I don't think you're gonna gonna know right away.
Oh, yeah, Hold is gonna come back.
You also have to take into consideration that they reactivated um, cat Kenny.
So you know that tells you that the very least, they're sort of see, why a movie.
So I would not be surprised at this point.
The chief's actually just wait like you set through the by.
So, in other words, I'm telling you that I don't know.
And it's a 50 50 chance that this going are you get him arrested and you could just bring him back and B 12 down for the, you know, through your what was it would be thereby isn't 12.
So if you bring it back 13 you know, then you happen for the home stretch when the home stretch is when they play the raiders.
Uh, don't play the influence of thing.
Yeah, play the Patriots.
So there's in my head and I'm not the team.
Obviously, there's no reason that bring him back next week.
If you're sitting pretty, you know, six and seriousness.
I just don't see why they would do that.
Especially considering that this is an instability issue.
Why not get that? You know, that kneecap that he and that lot let it sort of make that neural recon flight connection with brain again on but those muscles stabilize a journal? Yeah, I agree with that, too, because it's a knee entry and there didn't ready to pay at Holmes.
Talks of, you know, $200 million.
40 million annually.
So if they really are serious about giving him the biggest contract ever seen the NFL or even, you know, just monstrous.
But I think they would err on the side of caution and just make sure that he's 100% to go.
And they do play the Titans next week in Tennessee.
But the Titans couldn't beat the Carolina Panthers without their starting quarterback fusing team.
It is very interesting.
Signs are very confusing.
Teams are the Colts, Ah, lot of the team.
That division are actually very confusing.
Actually, all four of them are very confusing teams.
So when they come out, they sometimes look like a clear winner in this division.
Sometimes they come out while they may not be a topple and the Titans, that's been the one team that I think we all assumed would be more towards the bottom of that division and finds a way to crawl back up to it with Ryan.
So you got to give credit where it's due of.
Rachel's doing a good job with that defense.
I want to just take a quick boss, go back to Cam Newton, real quick with the Cory's comment, he said.
The Bears, the Broncos, the Titans that bangles and the dolphin.
So you have a dolphin.
Secondly, could go defense or trade that pick in the sense to go get Cam Newton.
Obviously not that pick directly for Cam Newton, but I used that pig otherwise, instead of two.
Are Justin Herbert or something along those lines off the bangles? They did, of course.
Bench Dalton that could be a very interesting fit is well, he said.
Cam and mixing would be scary.
They would most definitely be scary.
Ah, lot of athleticism there with John Ross and Agent Greene.
If he comes back healthy and Tyler Boy lie, it's terrible.
It's terrible on it.
It's one of the worst offensive lines I've really ever seen.
It's just been embarrassing and defensive lines, Actually, not bad.
They have some big names there.
I think we're talking about They should sell.
You know Gino Atkins for someone for a pretty penny start.
I'm doing the Dolphins model getting a little rebuild going, but let's move on to the next name for you.
James Connor One update.
He's not playing today, so when can we expect him back, So that's good question.
So I've been saying happened last week when they see injury happened that I was a little nervous about him.
Because you look at the return of sport. Time on the stain.
Research tells us that this could actually hold him out, depending parity, even up to 34 weeks.
And so what happened to him if he had been a A C joint spring? So when you hear a C joint where you here shoulder separation there that they're very similar in danger.
But they're the same injury, just as on the severity over Boulder.
That's that's when the fish is completely disrupted.
So what? What corner has going on is some form of that.
I assume that it's at least significant enough to open up this, which makes me think that makes me think of the great too great driving the worst.
And you know that I saw a report today.
Think that they might not even expect him to be back next week, which doesn't surprise me.
So if I'm a James car hurt, I got that I got.
I was able to grab Joe Samuels and snag um, if not your holy hot button.
You could get another owner in your league.
Feel one week injury.
Just sort of played down because you don't listen.
Thio unwrapped sports.
I don't want it.
Then you can convince elite made to trade you for another piece.
At this point, I would I would be Not necessarily.
It's not really a cell.
It's more of like a cell first more valuable where you know that you're gonna get guarantee production.
Because he was a top 12 picture.
Are you right? And like you just said, there's another strategy we left out.
Go find the stupidest person in your group and asked them for any trade and use any type of logic that you could pull out of your ass.
So there is the number one strategy.
If you don't have to think is much on this one, you just have to be a little shifty.
Er So go find someone who I don't think doesn't care anymore.
But maybe isn't not contention or not someone that wants to give their team away, but someone that doesn't know much and, um, you could sell him on a big name that's not doing well or get a pretty package for someone that gets get a ransom.
Let's move on to our next name T y Hilton still out looking like it may be worse than we all originally thought with that injury and with percent to let's just bring the both up together.
Talk about the Colts offense now that's looking injury wise, so I don't I don't know it.
I don't know if you guys have seen Air Force Senate. Constance.
You got hurt percent.
I just I watched the video, and I know that he essentially her is her knee, and it looks like it was an upscale.
So the NCL texted me from going taken to friend and rotating.
Many is ending, Actually was trying to block their ass blocking, and he got shoved backwards into her, said which essential.
And he stepped on leg, and he sort of shut that the 47 To get into that, it's called ****ogous, and so the M sales is definitely maximally stretched.
Gary Part is, and I hate to use the work.
It's like this causes a panic that is the same mechanism that Terror's ace deals.
I'm not saying that's what's going on percent.
I'm not saying that's what happened.
I really don't go.
The best case scenario for percent right now is that it's a minor and C l uh strange.
Yeah, that would deal As the week goes on for a bit, we can come back next week, Okay? As two White Hill.
Or do you wanna talk about that? You know, let's wrap it two up together.
I think Kristen, it's less of a conversation because we still don't have much to work off.
But with Hilton, that's definitely a do***ented injury that I was coming into this week.
So let's trying on him.
Yeah, So he did something to his cap in practice.
And you know that I always know when the coaches are talking to the medical staff because they immediately will cite some sort of like timeframe or use a bird.
That's period sort of medically, you know, right, he said that hey was gonna be up for these three peaks.
And when you look at the literature for return of sport in terms of Capt.
Strains, that's essentially what you seek.
Great to Castries can actually keep players out upto five weeks.
Even it's a righteous thing is gonna be a crowd at least three piece.
So that's something that you're gonna have to sort of very considerate to you wise your of your wife mercy for two or three.
It's definitely scary thing.
Situation's a little more difficult because they straight up, came out and said, Oh, he's gonna be out like a James Spider Situation was a little nebulous.
They straight upset like, Oh, yeah, he's gonna be out in a couple weeks So it's gonna be hard to pick up or try to trade him for you something with And he might just have to hold on for dear life here.
Wait till he comes back.
I will say the good news with Thio Helton being out.
It opened up a door for Zack, passed out, and he finished the day with five catches, 76 yards, one touchdown and six targets.
He was a guy who I write what Hilton went down.
Some other famous people.
****ysts suggested him as well, and I was all on board of picking up Zach Pascoe.
He's a guy that I put you know, side by side with a guy like Josh Reynolds to not comparing talent, but just comparing their volume an opportunity coming up.
We saw branded cooks go down with another concussion, and the Rams have said they want to be cautious with him.
So I think that Reynolds is a similar type guy like Pascal.
They're gonna get opportunity.
And when they get the opportunity we just saw was that Pascal could do.
But I've countries 76 yards touchdown.
And if you start him, you're beyond happy with that, right? Absolutely.
In Paris, Campbell, another guy that's going to see more opportunity.
So you're in a very deep leak.
You could be worth a look. Temporarily.
And depending on how t y continues to rehab, we're gonna have to keep looking on how these receivers get used.
Pastels had, ah lot of report with percent this year.
He's been used a lot more than in years past.
So we got Adam feeling stock. That one.
Yeah, unfortunately for stealing, I hate sounding like I'm taking a victory lap, but because I'm not sucks that you got ruled out escape hamstring injuries happens man, because they know that they said initially when it happened.
First of all, he missed the entire second half in the game that happened was I think it was weeks seven and obviously didn't play the Thursday night game if you tried to come back today.
So this thing with hamstring injuries is that the biggest, most fruit gus amount of evidence we have is in hamstrings for NFL players specifically like this, it's not necessarily gold State that evidence, but it's pretty pretty, pretty **** close.
So they there's a study that the NFL did.
They looked at hamstring strings for an entire period of years, and they essentially track when it was when they happened at practice.
I won't point excusing.
They have what percentage? What beavers running backs.
They did the whole deal that the sample sites you have to get a big 404 100 players sample size that the line that's a lot so between one and three feet is what they found.
The averages to come back from him.
St strings and someone Adam dealing.
You sort of saw the writing on the wall when you saw that, the medic stack amount said after his m r I B immediately rule.
Now I remember seeing that for the following week, and so that's a red flag.
And then the fact that he was a game time decision in a sort of seen me like the girl tone of the team was that it sort of so much was rushing back.
And he's been really anxious to get back home field, as most competitors are going to be.
That's I understand.
But in terms of was he ready? I'm not fully convinced that he was ready because I was actually surprised that he was acted.
So now that he tweaked it, basically, we start from scratch.
Now they're gonna go back, they're gonna retest his strength, they're gonna retest.
They're gonna look at the swelling again.
They're gonna ask how he's doing, and you're sort of seen it like with returned it.
I have heard that useless come back at six and he's still out hamstring.
So these things and then act.
They tend that they tend to stick around, and so it's just you hope that it doesn't pay nastier than it already is.
Way got one more situation to talk about.
That is kind of news and also talking eyes.
Well, Josh Gordon.
So let's talk a little about that.
You want to bring up flash and kind of what's been going on with it.
Do you like the situation itself? Is just like peculiar to me.
Why did the Patriots let Josh Gordon go when they're depleted at receiver? And you even going to kill Harris from Becky's of rookie? Uh, Borden has been productive for them.
As far as we know.
He hasn't been in trouble with the league since, you know, since he came back the last time since he was reinstated last.
What's really going on? I don't know.
That's always say, Adam, Do you think it's something beyond football right now? Because it seems to be the problems all over the place? Always.
Yeah, I will say I don't think so.
But I I think it was a bit of a red flag or odd that you know, the 28th waiver wire claim CIA Seahawks got him.
So that means 27 teams passed up on Josh Gordon.
You know, obviously he's still got talent, and, uh, you know, he showed it week one.
And then, ever since week one he kind of faded off and he didn't have a couple of plays, you know, throughout the weeks where he showed us, he could still be productive.
But I think the patriots just, you know, this was a Patriots move where they just kind of do their own thing.
And there may have been some sort of altercation or something.
L a check and what she was already planning on bringing up McKeel Harry.
And that spot was his.
And they put Josh for none I r toe save.
They put him on high, are to keep him on the team and bring Harry up.
But I think Josh Gordon was like, No, I'm not injured.
I'll be back in 23 weeks.
And so I think the Patriots just cut him because, you know, they obviously have a lot of confidence.
And, uh, Nikkila Harry and even Jacoby Meyers, I think could play some role.
So I know you just said you're alluding to maybe two or three weeks.
Aaron, how bad is this injury that he has going on? Is it something that's going to keep him out for the rest of the year? Is this gonna be more of a fantasy playoff potential gem like what's going on with him? Yeah, that's a good question, but at the very least, we know that you passed the exit physicals Patriots that tells you that it's not, You know, for example, e c. L.
It's not a giant tear, something like that. It's not a height.
I think I should. Worst case scenario.
What happened? Born in five or six, whatever that was is that he had a high ankle spring.
But they said it isn't he? I don't know.
In the end, I think that it was just like general, non specific injury.
Make it to the ligament to the tendon, tell attend and something weird.
But essentially, he said, he came out and said that you'd be ready and how, or two weeks or whatever.
I don't think that is a major injury.
I don't think it's something that's gonna continue to live in.
Uh, but thank you.
He didn't get an injury settlement, so, you know, it wasn't a bigger I just seen yes, but working.
It's like, how much value are you gonna get that dashboard increased? Like what I'm saying, I guess is he was with Tom Brady and his best week.
His best weeks were baby like 80 yards and a touchdown, you know, like not Julio Jones.
He's not Josh Porter for five years ago.
And when he's going to the Seahawks, who loved a hit off Chris Carson and then in the balls to Chris Parson and then on third down in Baltar's Carson, I just don't know how much value will really bring other than just making death.
Aeroflex okay, Yeah, and I did hear some reports that he could have played or not.
Could have played.
But there was rumors he might have a chance to like actually today.
But Carol did come out and said say that he will be making his debut Monday night against the 40 Niners.
So Josh Gordon should be good to go next Monday, despite our unless you step back or something, you know goes wrong.
Okay, well, there's an update for him.
We should be seeing them sooner rather than later.
Which is definitely good news.
