about what, um, what's going on with this Buffalo Bill's team and all of the of the surrounding parts of as I set up some of the things here this morning, you know, there are five and two teams.
A lot of people aren't really viewing them as a five and two team.
They have a lot of things that are going on with them right now in it.
You know, it's tough for a lot of people to see, like Okay, yeah, they're five and two.
But I haven't seen so much doubt creeping to a lot of minds of a team that is five to because, I think because of how they got to five into the victory that they have over the teams that they've beaten are not very impressive.
And the teams that you think Okay, they need to show that there there is a real deal against New England and, um uh, Fili and they just kind of fell flat on those games.
So, um, let's get to the Let's get to all this good stuff that we have.
Um, first of all is to go with the over the injury reports for the Buffalo bills.
As you can see on the screen that I have right now, we got Maurice Alexander did not practice.
He's going to be out for the game.
Kurt Coleman, Cody Ford and Levi Walls are all gonna be questionable.
Shaq Lawson, which he had.
He just had a personal issue that he was dealing with so he was not going to be available for the game.
Um, just pulling up The insights here, powered by stats, are pretty good.
And now let's go over the Washington Redskins injury report, which happens to be a laundry list of things going on with that with that squad, Um, so and I'll get to your questions and comments in a second.
So you got a bunch of guys you got, uh, Shay's er ever it montane Nicholson are gonna be both out for, um, for the game.
Adrian Peterson was a full participant on on Friday.
Chris Thompson and Vernon Davis are also going to be out.
Case Keenum is definitely out as we heard the news that Haskins is going to be starting his first NFL game against the Buffalo Bills.
A lot of worry coming in with the Buffalo Bills and what's going on.
If they happened to lose to Haskins, what does that mean for the Buffalo Bills? All right, So it's gonna be it's gonna be something that they're gonna have to rectify this problem real quick.
You can't let this game get out of hand in or even be close.
Even though Washington is a one and seven team, they're not really an s consent were there not really a one in 17.
They're actually pretty.
They got a pretty solid roster and a pretty solid team.
Um, that then, um, they just had some unfortunate balances.
And, you know, when you change, um, when you change infrastructure and the the, um, you're coaching staff, that's just that's a huge hit for a team that is definitely be a huge hit for a team.
Positive or negative, it's they're gonna have to They're gonna have to try to rebound trying to make something of the season, or else they're gonna be in the two sweepstakes, I guess.
I mean, which Miami's looking for.
So so we go just solely by the statistics, the only one that Thea, that the Redskins have had its against Miami Dolphins.
They've lost the Eagles by five.
The Bears by 16.
They got killed by the Giants on they got destroyed by the dream of Patriots.
And then, uh, they played a really tough gaming.
No Sam 2nd 40 Niners, which was just a mud bath in game time.
Conditions aren't supposed to bode very well at FedEx Field once again for this Sunday, so and then they lose by 10 points the Minnesota Vikings.
So you're starting to see some really good teams in there, and they're not really getting destroyed by them.
I mean, losing to the Giants are losing to the Patriots were their biggest losses of the year, and it's you talk about the opposite spectrum of two different teams.
It doesn't seem that you should lose to both of those teams and that respect.
So, um, as far as their defense is concerned, they started.
They 123 They have four games this year.
They give it up with total over 400 yards to their opponents.
So the Bills have some ability to to do something here against the Washington Redskins.
I mean, let me see it.
123456 of those games out of the eight games at the Washington Redskins play that giving up over 100 years on the grounds the Bills have to try to use that to their advantage and get back to the basics off as far as their offense.
Because if they're able to run the ball, then you're gonna take heat off of Josh.
You're gonna take some heat off of that line and you're gonna let the you gonna you're gonna have to open up more opportunities for the wide receivers in the outside in order to do what they need to d'oh.
So that from that from that standpoint, that's one of the things that you have to take a look at.
Um, so if we just kind of look at what the statistics of case Keenum has because Haskins has not played.
So you wanted, you wouldn't try to get a good barometer of how Haskins could play.
So you look a case Keenum.
Even with a coaching change.
Ah, he's able to complete 67% of his passes, nine touchdowns and four picks.
So not terrible numbers from a quarterback of the team that's won in seven.
It's just they haven't had the opportunities to be very productive in the run game.
And over the past game you had Adrian Peterson coming with 383 yards.
I think the last, the last thing we found out, I think he was gonna play.
If he doesn't play, uh, the rushing would solely would slowly fall on the shoulders of You know, you got Wendell Smallwood, Mike Burton and Craig Reynolds.
I don't know who those guys are. Sze.
It's something not even know who you guys are.
So you got Terry McLorin, Paul Richardson and Trade.
Glynn, along with Jeremy Sprinkle, is the top receiving targets for Haskins on Sunday.
I'm not much talent, which Taelon often said the ball, but they have been able to move the ball around a little bit.
The the Redskins were dealing with the whole Trent Williams scenario, but he was gonna get traded or not now, Ah, a couple of stories coming out about him, so I'm not sure what his status is going to be for the game.
It doesn't seem like it's gonna be very positive for what he's going to do so we'll take a little Take a look at that.
But this is a part of that that I wanted to concern you guys with a SW far as Buffalo Bill Simmons.
What's gonna be going on this weekend? You look at Jonathan Allen.
Montas Sweat Ryan Kerrigan.
Now these are all former first round picks that are currently on the Washington Redskins on you got George Josh Norman a corner.
You know, Landing Collins is your safety.
I mean, that's that's a pretty formidable secondary in that respect.
But you have a lot of talent over on that defensive side of the ball for the Washington Redskins that the Buffalo Bills are gonna have to contend with on Sunday.
So if they were having a lot of trouble against New England front four and they're having trouble against Phillies front for, they're going to try to figure it out really quick and really running Game.
Their assignments are really early and try to design some quick pass plays for Josh Allen.
Because this run for ah, and the defense overall in general is pretty scary for the Buffalo Bills for the Washington Redskins.
Sorry, Um So if I'm gonna take a look, I just want to take a look at the next.
Gen stats are power the staff's power, our insides powered by staff.
I'll get it. I'll get eventually, guys, you know, eventually.
Thanks for joining the feed.
Okay, so the bill's lead.
The all time regular season Siri's against Washington 8 to 5 and have won six straight meetings.
So it's interesting statistic there.
The Redskins have gone two straight games without a touchdown and scored 36 points over the last five contests.
Hopefully, Haskins is going to try possibly provide them with the spark that they need.
Um, but it's weird because they're not making this.
Doesn't seem like they're making this decision because they've been so standing and offensively.
And I like I said that one game against Washington, just a downpour.
So it just seems like they're making this because of the injury.
It's not so much that there.
I mean, you wasted a first round pick on this kid on that waste because we haven't seen a play.
But you use the first round pick on this kid.
You might as well see how he's going to perform Ah, the game will pit two of the NFL's top six and career rushing Buffaloes.
Frank Gore, which is fourth, and Peterson ISS 6th my God, that is, um, first time in league history that two players over 13,500 career rushing yards will go ahead at.
You know, it's funny because Paul was talking about it the other day.
Who would have thunk that in 2019 that Frank or and Adrian Peterson would be the two lead Bax going into a football came in 2019.
Think Gore came out No.
Five, It was Peterson.
07 I think he was.
He was a year, a couple years after, I'm not really sure.
The Bills have held opponents under 400 total yards in 19 consecutive games, the longest active street in the NFL.
And, um, the Redskins, meanwhile, have generated under 400 total yards of offense and 23 straight games, their longest streak since 03 toe five.
So it's almost like as far as that some of the statistics that I'm reading and how a lot of things are going, the Buffalo Bills have a very good chance to get back to fundamentals this week.
And if they don't do anything too exotic in the past or the rush game or the other defense as well, they're gonna they're gonna be successful and they're gonna have their gonna have success against the Washington Redskins and come out with a victory and B six and two at the halfway point.
I think a lot of Buffalo Bills fans would have been very, very happy to see them at six and two at this point.
Um, although the way that they're six and to a lot of people are still going to be very quiet.
We're going to be questioning it because at the time when they were five and one, um, the teams that they had beaten had only 15 total games and now you're gonna go six and two, a possibility of going six and two, and the team you beat was one in 70 even though they're not really one in seven on paper.
I said that earlier the broadcast, but the games that you're supposed to win in this league, you're supposed to win.
I know that it always talk about any given Sunday but the games that you're supposed to when you're supposed to win.
And unless the Buffalo Bills can get into a position where when they're playing some of these teams, let me see.
After this weekend, they're gonna be at Cleveland.
Um, Michael, even they could be at Miami, and then they have Denver and in Baltimore.
So you look at the stretch that they're gonna have over the next four games.
It's gonna be very winnable.
Games for them, um, particular care or quick, huh? Buffaloes outscored opponents 53 57 to 31 in the fourth quarter, the fourth best point differential in NFL this season.
Washington has a minus 33 differential Onley scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Only Miami is worse than then Uh, Washington.
So you're going to see a lot of opportunities for the Buffalo Bills that are gonna come about in this game.
There really is gonna be a lot of things that them to work on, But like I said, they don't have to do anything really exotic.
You know, they just have to They just have to stay the course and what they're doing, and if they're able to play good sound fundamental football and not do anything outside the box and make adjustments accordingly.
They should be fine.
This should be fine.
I'm not sure if, um, that's something that McDermott was tryingto echo this week in some of the things that he was talking about with his team.
Um, go to this bad boy.
So try to go to the chat to get you guys questions really quick.
Thanks for joining me this morning.
So All right, Road Singer.
Hello from Atlanta.
Good to see you, but black and orange and blind has joined the road, Cass.
Okay, well, we see more of a shock on offense to counter the defensive front Road singer.
That's a great point.
I don't know this.
The Buffalo Bills have a nice mixed bag of certain things that they like to run.
They've been a little bit, uh, they've telegraphed a few of their of packages that they have with the Iran burst of the past.
When Alan's under center, it seems like a lot of times they're going to be running the ball, which they want to try to transfer that over to a play action game.
which Ellen is very good at.
Um, I'm not sure if the weather conditions will lend itself for them to push the ball down the field in that respect.
So you know it's it's gonna be one of those things where they like running those own concept, especially for Singletary of Singletary's in the game.
If they run out of the shotgun, that's usually where he's more comfortable on some of the things that he was able to run in college up until this point.
But if they're if they're going, if L'm going to go under center, you could pretty much expect Gore to be in there because that's the more conventional way that he's run the ball. And that's how he's been.
And Gore's been successful this year.
You know if there's a way that you want to neutralize a front, um, you gotta try to keep him off balance.
I wouldn't I wouldn't doubt if there you do in the shotgun or understand it.
If they were trying to run a little bit more counter plays, don't try to confuse the defense, and you know what? I've said this before and Rosa says unleashed Singletary Yeah, at least it seems like the Buffalo Bills are using Singletary more of a zoo receiving back than a running back.
And it doesn't seem like that is the best way for for him to go.
I mean, I understand McDermott has always been a proponent of You're not gonna get in there.
You're not gonna be able to do anything until you know what you're doing.
He's not gonna put a guy out there that's gonna be unprepared and some of the things that they're going to do.
So, um, in that respect, maybe you put him in the past game to try to get his feet wet.
But he's been so explosive and his vision is so good, it's It's only a matter of time before he's going to take the reins from Gore.
But Gore has been successful, too, and we haven't had a clear cut decision on what's gonna happen with both of them because that we don't see him enough.
I mean, last week against the Philadelphia Eagles that they only had 12 carries minus Josh Allen's eight carries, but they had daily 12 carries.
How are you supposed to assess and or set the tone offensively if you're only running your two backs 12 times.
Singletary had three carries for 16 yards, but that last Carrie was at the end of the game and pretty much conceded by Philadelphia, so he didn't really run the ball very well, but he wasn't even involved heavily in the past.
Name? Um, let's Let's take a look at the Buffalo Bill stats because the one interesting thing about the Buffalo Bill stats that I wanted to take a look at as faras there they're splits.
It's very interesting to see their splits.
Currently, they're averaging 19.
1 points per game, and the news is not gonna get it done. Their 24th.
Um, I spoke with a good friend of mine from the Rock Sports Network, Ryan Lizza.
He is a very big if.
If the Buffalo Bills could get anywhere near the 16th as far as scoring an offensive production, there gonna be a scary team because this defense is pretty good.
Currently points against their fifth in the NFL.
So take a look at their statistics.
Um, their offense.
We look at the Jets.
They had 128 yards, 1 51 against the Giants won 75 against the Bangles, one 1 35 against the Patriots 109 against Tennessee, which was a horrible game.
I mean, the weather there was wasn't very good, and the Miami Dolphins definitely rushed for 117.
And last week against Philly, it runs for 98.
So biggest thing about that is when you look at some of these rushing numbers that they have, is that the turnover battle? Haven't they had four against the Jets? They have four.
Against the Patriots.
You had two against the Bengals wanting.
It's the Titans and you've won its field.
But that, in that respect for the last three games, only had two turnovers.
So it's not a question of your given the ball up to your opponent.
So that was just killing Dries.
It's three opponent that's killing you.
Drive for you, Um, as far as filling In the case of Philly and in case of Miami, they ran into a couple of roadblocks trying to move the ball.
So But if you look back to Tennessee and even in even New England, okay, so over New England, until now they've had their three and one over that stretch, but they haven't really had sustained any kind of consistent drives.
They've had a couple in there, sprinkle them that they've been able to drive the length of the field and put up points.
But when you start talking about them scoring 10 14 31 and 13 albeit that 31 with there was kick return, you gotta put the points.
I mean, moving the ball is nice, but you got to be able to end some of these drives with with points.
Um, so yeah, like Gora has currently on the years 422 yards to for two touchdowns only cared about 95 times in six games, which doesn't.
I mean, I don't I think he and Sail Terry both need to touch the ball a little bit more.
If you want to take a more in depth look about Alan, let's go to D.
The splits for Alan in 2019.
It's really great to have this reference, but some of these the way you look at, it's kind of interesting.
So, Ellen, this is the most interesting part about Ellen is going on.
If we're talking about what his passing is in each quarter.
Okay, so we look here.
He's got a 63% complete percent of one touchdown in three picks in the first quarter.
All right, That's usually when you have your script, you're trying to make a play, try and do something.
So if the fact is he's he he has to make better decisions coming out of the gate as far as the first quarter goes, because that's when the Bills get down a little bit early.
So but a 63% completion percentage? Not good.
He's been sacked seven times and which is the most of any quarter that he's been ***.
So it's either The scheme that's coming out isn't very good or there's things that heat that are happening in the candy he he didn't account for.
All right, so we come in the second quarter, you know he's a 60% completion percentage, but three touchdowns to a pic.
So it seems to turn it around a little bit once the game starts to get, you know, start to go up in that direction.
But the thing that is the most concerning is the fact that he and his third quarter.
He has his lowest completion percentage.
He's got the least amount of first downs, and once again he has one touchdown in three interceptions.
So ah, lot of people would like to tout Brian Table for and the offensive staff for their adjustment.
So they come in with a great script and they come in and they make great adjustments.
Well, if you, if you're using the first in the third quarter, is barometers for that metric he had.
Ellen has two touchdowns and six picks, and he probably has hovering around 60 quarterback rating with 13 sacks in those 2/4.
So I'm failing to get the correlation of how good they are coming into a game with a game plan and or making adjustments at halftime.
Uh, but the fourth quarter for Alan has been stellar.
He's 116 quarterback rating, uh, who is completing 57% of his passes, but he has the second most are actually the third most yards with four touchdowns and no pics.
But, um, a very telling stat you want to look at with the Buffalo Bills as Faras Josh Allen is concerned 136 past attempts in the first half, compared to 87 in the second half.
Now, when you look at a team, when you look at a team in that respect, that's winning their five and to use those teams have leads.
Bills have been having to come back in the fourth quarter.
Those teams also, when they get those leads, if they get him, they usually run the ball and you run the ball successfully.
It doesn't seem to be the case.
It seems like when the Buffalo Bills air down, that's when they go to the run, and it seems like a very stark contrast to what they should be doing.
Um, so going down, how much will the weather affect the game plan? We've seen how weather can affect the game plan as far as the Philadelphia Eagles go.
I'm not sure if they're going to take that same approach because there were some passes in the game from Josh Alan that he was able to hit into the wind last week.
That was just insane, that he shouldn't have been able to.
It was just pure, pure athleticism on his part and rode singer just to go back to your just to go back to the 1st 1st question you had with the shotgun versus not in shotgun.
Uh so for Alan has thrown 180 of his passes of the total of where is it? 180 of the 223 passes he's thrown have come out a shotgun, Um, 43 have come under center, and the interesting part about that is that he has a 70% completion percentage when he's under center.
So the tendencies of the Buffalo Bills when they're under center to run the ball has been very favorable toward Josh Allen if he wanted to throw.
So I think under centers where he's more comfortable when you're in shotgun, you always have to wait for some more things to develop.
Um, so in that respect, I think that's that's one of the things that happens.
And that's gonna be part of the learning curve for a second year quarterback Here in Josh Kalen, Uh, do you think will be more successful? Anthony limbs the coach.
Hard to tell. Hard to tell how those two would have messed.
I don't know the way this coach's staff that's over in San Diego.
At one point, they had three current in or former head coach is there in San Diego, So they were there, pretty stacked.
If you're using, I guess I want to see if you're using Philip Rivers is a barometer of if Josh Allen would be, would have been successful.
I think that's kind of tilting the scales toward Rivers.
A little R toward lend a little bit because Rivers is such a dynamic player in and of himself.
I mean, the guy plays with the chip on his shoulder, every single play.
He's talking trash, everybody.
So, uh, I haven't I haven't seen Lynne develop a quarterback, so I don't know.
It would depend on the offensive coordinator that the whoever Lynn decided to work with him because I think it gets like I said, I think that metric it's a little skewed because reverses was already there when when got there.
So I don't know, um, who would be there O.
If you would be successful if I had to venture a guess? Lynn, um I mean, it could could happen.
He could He could be develop a better, but the thing that's concerning me as faras Josh Allen is with the current coaching staff.
Is he staring down receivers? And when you have something like that, that's just a elementary thing about football.
It doesn't seem like anyone's telling him those things.
I mean, I understand from a quarterback standpoint, there are some things times I've were used.
You purposely will stare at a wide receiver to try to shift the defense over, and that's that's part of the game.
That's definitely part of game.
But when he's staring down a receiver and then throws it to that receiver, I get nightmares of E J Manual.
Now don't get me wrong.
I'm not comparing the two quarterbacks.
I'm just saying that in the past, that's what I saw out of manual of staring down receivers.
Now they're not.
They're not comparable.
I'm not comparing Alan to man.
I'm just saying that's what happened in the past.
I'm just stating a fact.
Um, so Alan uh, coming off one of his worst performances.
So the two losses that the Buffalo Bills have had Alan has thrown for under 50% completion percentage and so it's either it's it's either a point for Alan At this point, he needs to trust what is giving to him work.
And I don't think he does that.
I think you really need to start trusting what he what is giving to him and what needs to be done for for this game, as for is Washington Redskins are concerned.
We talked about the injury report.
Um, as far as their statistics are concerned, you're going to get a heavy dose of of the running game for the Washington Redskins, depending on no matter who that is, As far as defensively, you start landing.
Collins already has 70 tackles on the year.
The guys that monster's gonna be all over the field.
Ellen needs to know where he is on every play.
Uh, he has one sack.
He has to pass defenses and force one with those.
How many interceptions? Uh, but that is a guy that you need to you need to take into account.
And then you got Jonathan Bostic.
Renner needs him.
That's that's the second leading tackle on this team.
So it goes from safety to middle linebacker.
What does that mean for the defense of the Washington Redskins? Well, they're keeping bodies off of these off the linebacker in the second level.
So whether or not teams were able to throw on the Washington Redskins, you got Collins and Bostic there.
They're going to be cleaning up a lot of those things that happened.
So Buffalo Bills need to be conscious of those two guys.
They need to just They just need to get back to fundamental football and not not make so many mistakes and went to went to make a judgment.
That's the biggest thing I'm gonna look for if the Bills don't get out early.
I'm very curious to see how their adjustments are in this game and how they're gonna how that's going to manifest in itself and move to the next level.
What's the deal with Foster? Is he injured or running wrong rounds? Road Singer? I would love to know the answer to that question.
He only played eight plays against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ah, a lot less than I thought.
But that's the other thing.
I was, uh, I was actually on my way to get to this offense.
Now, whether being a factor, I can understand that this offense could be dynamic and different and help Alan quite a bit if you put Foster on the other side of brown because what you're gonna do is a lot of teams are due are doing what they call a single high safety, you know? So they're loading the box up to stop the run.
Worst of bills have been very successful, and they're playing a single high safety, which means one safety in the middle of a field that plays both sides.
If you put Foster on the other side of brown now, you're gonna have to make that safety is gonna have to make a decision.
And if he doesn't choose right, it could be a big play for the Buffalo Bills.
So what happens as a result, if Foster's able to run right routes, If he's not as injured as people think that he is, you're gonna force teams to put another safety in the game or drop them back and get him out of the box.
Now, what that does is it opens up all your underneath routes, which the Bills run a ton off, and it'll take a guy out of the box to help your offensive line with some of the schemes you have in the run game.
So just that one player I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but just foster in the speed that he has A isn't big duty six for two.
So the speed that he has and the qualities that he possesses that the wide receiver position you have to account for, even though the bills have not had a lot of deep balls is this this year, it's something that you have to account for with him.
And if you don't do that, then they're gonna burn you.
So I'm really interested to see that.
So here's a couple of things you know, SportsCastr Nation.
If you want, just take a look at it.
And when we talk about more about we talk more about this on our on our YouTube channel as well.
If you're not a fan of your watching, please become a fan.
Here's some of the things that I would like you to watch, because these are things that I'm gonna be looking for in the game when they going comes up tomorrow, I'm looking to see what the script is now.
The script is the 1st 15 to 18 plays that the team runs.
I'm really interested to see what the script for Buffalo Bills is in this game.
What? You know what? There's gonna be a factor.
But I'm very interested to see what that will be.
What's the script? How do they run their 1st 15 18 plays? That's number one number two.
I'm interested to see how the adjustments are by Alan and the offense.
Now the defense.
I think we'll have a little bit easier road easier.
And because you have a team that, I mean, they're starting quarterbacks.
You don't have a lot of film on him, but it's still his first start and you're a veteran defense that have been playing together for about 23 games now.
So you should have a leg up on stopping this Washington offense.
Um, but you have to be mindful of the fact.
That's why I talk about being fundamentally sound.
You have to be mindful of the fact that this is a one and seven team that has nothing but the game to lose.
They have nothing but the game to lose, so they're gonna be throwing everything at you.
Maybe some trick plays maybe some a lot of different things that we be conscious of them going for it on fourth down, be conscious of them, maybe an onset kick to start again.
I don't know that's a little drastic, but my point being is that they're gonna throw everything at the Buffalo Bills.
So they have to be aware of a lot of things that the Redskins offense is gonna d'oh as far as the other side of the ball.
I'm very interested to see what the script is, what the adjustments will be in.
How stable, Because so far up to this point, Buffalo Bills offense has been relatively predictable.
So they have certain things that they have to do.
I'm interested to see if they change anything going from last week to this week and some of the things they're gonna dio if they're able to run the ball.
I know it sounds very simple, and it's not if they're able to run the ball, they're able to use the play action with Josh Allen.
If you're able to do simple things and beat a team, that makes it very hard for your opponent the following week to game plan against you Because it's not like you're doing anything exotic.
You do? It's doing the fundamentals.
Well, um, so yeah, that's that's what I'm gonna be looking for in this game on Sunday.
Um, Lee Smith's nickname should be Dr Killer.
Too many holes in false starts.
Yeah, I'm about it that way.
Had a stream on YouTube on Wednesday, and I'm pretty much done with with Lee Smith in that respect.
So, um, I just wanted to think everyone that joined the join the SportsCastr stream today.
I hope you guys enjoy the game of the Washington Redskins versus the Buffalo Bills.
And, um and you know, like like I said, those were a couple of things that I'm gonna be looking for in the game.
So hopefully you guys, you guys could see some of those things as well.
Ah, Joe from Believer Stock will be here with you guys tomorrow to call the game play by play.
So make sure you, uh you tune in.
Also, Joe will be Joe has YouTube channels.
Well, it's called believers talk.
Be sure to go over to you his YouTube channel. Give him a follow.
We want to get him to 1000 subs as fast as possible.
Um and then Paul and I will be here tomorrow afternoon for the post game, so it probably around five o'clock, hopefully.
