and welcome back.
Everybody is This is a sports dish here in SportsCastrs.
So now we have gone through the halfway point of the season as we just finished up with Week eight of the NFL season.
I'm going to go through my top 20 surprises here for Week eight of football action.
I'll go through all the surprises in no particular order, go through the surprises in chronological order, starting out with a Thursday Night football game and then ending with the Monday Night Football game.
So we go through these all in order as how they were played route in time as well go over the 1st 1 here.
The number one surprise on my list has to be on Thursday Night Football.
The minister, the Vikings only winning by 10 points on Thursday Night Football against the Washington Redskins.
I know that it's a short turnaround and everything, but I had predicted that that team would have been a blowout, but instead it turned out to be a snooze fest.
A field goal fest On Thursday Night Football seven made field goals combined by putting the teams with only one rushing touchdown, which was made by job and Coke, zero passing touchdowns between the Vikings and the Redskins on Thursday Night Football had to be.
If I had to rate this game would have to be one of the most boring games that I have seen since in about a year's time worth in NFL.
Another game that would have topped that to be more boring would be that game last year in 2018 on Thursday Night Football.
I have to say it would be the one minute Mullins making his first career start for the 40 Niners when they took on the Raiders.
It was just a snooze fest to watch for in this one.
News past year with the Vikings versus the Redskins.
But Minnesota on Lee won against Washington, 19 9 was the score, which surprised me.
Number two for a surprising My list year will be matched.
Shopping the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, throwing for 460 passing yards for Orlando filling in for Matt Ryan.
So Matt Shop had not played football.
You had not started a game in the NFL since 2015 and Matt Shab posted his highest yardage total with almost seven years back in 2012 against the Jaguars, you threw for 500 passing yards.
But this game on Sunday against the Seahawks, you passed for 460 passing yards in the air.
One dimension shows it for sure what the offense was like for Dolan.
A Falcon says they went for sure one dimensional against the Seahawks and lost that game.
Number three here for surprising the last has to be the Philadelphia Eagles with 218 of rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills.
Philly was racking up rush after rush after rush, averaging just over five yards per rush in the game.
I thought that Buffalo's rush defense was so much better than that to stop the run.
But no, they gave up a 65 yard rushing touchdown to the rookie running back.
Miles Sanders and Sanders, at 74 rushing yards in the came only on three carries.
Jordan Howard on 96 rushing yards for the Philadelphia Eagles as the Buffalo Bill bills surprised me by not showing up against the Philadelphia Eagles and getting crushed 31 to 13.
I thought that Buffalo would have been a lot more competitive than that, but they just did not show up to compete in that game.
Welcome in Gunners Lover 1 92 over to the SportsCastr Stream right now, Just going over my 20 surprises of the week here for NFL Week eight. Number four.
For my surprise, that week has to be Daniel Jones, the quarterback for the New York Giants.
He had four touchdown passes on something as the Detroit lines for the rookie has had an up and down season so far this year.
The week before, he fumbled the ball three times.
But this past Sunday was able to find the end zone four times, and it's passes and no interceptions.
So that's a positive sign for Daniel Jones as he comes in on my number four surprise of the week.
My number five surprise of the week has to go to this player once again.
Pick City Turnover City Fumble City.
The quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jamis Winston, another poor performance here on the field.
Four turnovers on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Tampa Bay really needs to start looking to heading toe head in another direction here next season for a quarterback because this is just not working at all.
During the last two games for Jameis Winston, he has turned over the football 10 times.
He's thrown seven interceptions, and he's also lost three fumbles.
And as a result, these turnovers.
Tampa Bay has lost the two middle bottom teams in the NFL on back to back weeks.
That Caroline are in their last two games here in the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans there struggled is not gonna get any easier to when they take on the Seattle Seahawks with a six and to record at Seattle.
By the way, on Sunday, things are gonna get really difficult down there for Jameis Winston as he comes in for my number five surprises week.
Another poor performance on the week for Jameis Winston coming in for number six year.
For my surprise, the week has to be the Tampa Bay wide receiver duo Mike Evans and Chris and Godwin, both of these wide receivers ranking number five and number six so far in the NFL in receiving yards.
So they are a duo threat for sure in the field.
But too many turnovers and Tampa Bay's issues in the secondary against opposing quarterback says, really just put a damper toe.
What they're wide receiving corps has become this year, the two and five record that's just all overshadowed.
Chris Godwin and Michael Evans performance on the field for Tampa Bay this season as they ranked fifth and sixth and receiving yards in the NFL right now.
But Mike Evans had 11 receptions for 198 yards, two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans.
As now, they take on the Seahawks team, which they just gave up 460 passing yards.
D'oh! Ah! Backup quarterback and Matt Szabo, the dropback that game and attempted 52 passes.
Now we're gonna move on to the number seven. Surprise.
That's one has to be the Indianapolis Colts versus the Denver Broncos.
That game being a close game, I am predicted that the courts would win that one rather easily what Denver's defense kept them right into the game.
15 13 was a score.
Denver had a lead with less than two minutes left to go 13 12 and then Jacoby burst set, escapes the pressure from his own end zone.
He could've been sacked for a safety.
He escapes, the pressure rolls out.
She was right and completes an absolute gem that keep the drive alive to T. Y.
And then, after that, the courts go downfield.
They kicked the game winning field goal with 22 seconds remaining with the man in the clutch.
The Hall of Famer Someday as a kicker, Adam Venit Terry.
He comes in the clutch whenever you need them, no matter how poor his start of the season was 24 seasons in the NFL.
Adam Bennett Terry can still show you why he comes in as kicker in the clutch, and Indianapolis Colts got the W against Denver, 15 13 the final and now moving on to my number eight surprise of the week, this one has to be the L A Rams offense for their Russian game.
The L A Rams on Lee rushing for less than 100 yards against the Bangles in London.
Now that has to be a surprise for me because going into that game, Cincinnati has been terrible this year, trying to defend against the run.
Cincinnati currently ranks last in the NFL, giving up the most rushing yards this season.
Yet Todd Gurley still struggled to run the football.
He only rushed the ball for 44 yards.
The Rams, as a team, rushed the ball for 98 yards total as they were held under 100 against the Cincinnati Bengals team, which has allowed about 200 rushing yards every game.
Two opponents here in a season now moving on to the next.
Surprising it was, this has to be number nine of surprises.
That one is Cooper Cup, the wide receiver of the L A Rams with a 220 receiving yard performance in London.
So Cooper Cup my surprise last year, had a monster game against the Bengals of Sunday seven receptions for 225 yards, a career high by Cooper Cup, and also he had a receiving touchdown on a very spectacular trick.
Apply that the L A Rams got that.
They had two different laterals on, and then Jared Goff is able to get the football back in his hands and find the wide open Cooper cut down the right sideline for a touchdown.
Number 10 of my list has to be this one for a surprise.
No turnovers between the Bangles and the Rams in London.
So this is a surprise because both of these teams coming into this game have turned the ball over quite a lot this year.
So both of these teams have coming to the game and London, combining for 27 turnovers on the season.
But there were zero turnovers between these two teams throughout the entire game.
In London, Number 11 for my surprising list has to be.
Whatever your name.
I'm the quarterback.
The special team earned a running back.
The Why Receiver t Some Hill for the New Orleans Saints can do it all.
And he did it, lining up his wide receiver on Sunday for the scenes versus the Cardinals.
Taysom Hill, coming at number 11 are my surprise list here from the Saints as he had three receptions for 63 receiving yards and a touchdown for New Orleans on Sunday.
As Taysom Hill can show, why is versatility six season NFL? Because he can do it all.
Number 12 of my last year for surprises has to be Sam Darnold, the quarterback for the New York Jets, says he threw three more interceptions against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, so another game that Sam Darnold struggled.
He was plagued by the Patriots boogeyman on Monday Night Football.
I felt that he would have learned his lesson by now, but still Sam Darnold struggling against the blitz this season and under pressure.
It's been a big problem, especially the offensive line for the New York Jets.
The poor blocking up front hasn't helped out Sam journals cause either, as he was picked off three times against the Jaguars and Sakti Times on Sunday.
As before, we go into my number 13 surprise in the last one.
The welcome you guys over here to the sports dish on SportsCastr.
Welcome in Patty.
Whack Once again and ma'am been number 24.
Welcome in here, too.
Welcome in here to the sports dish on SportsCastr going into number 13 in my last year.
This one has to be the 40 Niners Biggest surprise of the week here comes with San Francisco destroying Carolina on Sunday, 51 the 13 the final.
The game wasn't even close, so I had predicted when I did my score predictions for the re guy.
I predict that this want to be a close game, 13 12 game.
I thought I'd be all defense, but San Francisco here here, posting 51 points on the on the board.
It's just absolutely crazy.
Yeah, I wasn't even close at all.
Nick Bosa, by the way, for the 40 Niners is making its case to be the rookie of the year.
He had three sacks on Sunday, along with an interception.
San Francisco This team is just way too good against the past.
They picked off Kyle Allen three times on Sunday.
They only limited him to 158 passing yards.
Now moving on to my number 14 surprising list, this one has to be Tevin Coleman, the running back for the San Francisco 40 Niners having himself a day a career game.
Four touchdowns from scrimmage by Tevin Coleman yet three on the ground of one receiving as Tevin Coleman averaged.
This amount, a whopping 9.
5 yards per carry, only had 11 carries.
He made the most out of his usage on the field, 11 carries for 105 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
He also added in that receiving touchdown for Tevin Coleman, his fourth ever, is first ever career game with four touchdowns from scrimmage.
He effort seven.
Coleman is he makes my surprise list at number 14 moving on to number 15 here for surprise.
This one has to be the Cleveland Browns on Sunday as the Patriots three straight turnovers back to back to back by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Nick Job had a monster game.
If you guys look at the stat line.
He had 20 carries for 131 yards against the Patriots defense that ranked at the very top of the NFL in fewest yards per game.
Nick Job What playing them was fumbling the up on.
He did it on back to back, please.
In the game, you fumble the football twice on back to back plays.
One of those led to a touchdown on the first Bumble that Dante Hightower recovered it and took it down the left sideline for a touchdown, and the next show had a monster game gained on the second Carrie and then Jonathan Jones came from behind him and punched out the football as he fumbled inside the 10 yard line in New England.
There for Nick Job.
The third turnover of the game.
The last one was a shovel pass by Bigger May feel that he tried to shovel it out to Nick's job instead of landed right into the hands of Lawrence Guys.
Somebody forgot to block toe, make their blocking assignment on the edge, and Lawrence Guy just came right into the fees.
A bigger Mayfield and took the shovel pass.
An intercepted it.
So those three possessions right there just wrecked the game on Sunday for the Cleveland Browns, right from the start, as they got the big fat elegance, the Patriots.
But my surprise and number 15 is the Browns with three straight turnovers.
I don't think we've seen that in NFL for a long time a lot a couple of times in college, but in the NFL, three straight turnovers on back to back to back, please, that's kind of hard to do and who we managed to do it somehow on Sunday.
Number 16 here, Um, I was.
The surprises will be Freddie Kitchens, and he's the head coach of the Cleveland Browns in his decision to go for it for Cleveland's to go for on the fourth and 16.
It mind boggles me here forthe and 16 inside their own 20 yard line.
And instead he had brought out his Ponting unit just right before that on the 14 11 upon out the football.
And then they took a five yard penalty, backed him up.
It would be 1/4 and 16 inside their own 20.
And instead of keeping the punting unit on Freddie Kitchens, decides toe switched with our offense, put the offense right back onto the field and mix no sense in the adult.
What in the world are you doing, Kenny? Uh, Freddie Kitchens there.
This Brownstein, by the way, is just so talented, if so many good pieces on that team as Faras weapons.
O B J Jarvis Landry.
They're just great *** Myles Garrett defensively.
Why in the world do they have a record of two and five? Well, two reasons why Number one poor coaching here with Freddie Kitchens? He is not the answer this season for the Cleveland Browns.
Number two is the discipline.
Terrible, terrible discipline by Cleveland so far this season.
They had 13 penalties on Sunday against the Patriots.
They're the most penalized team in NFL fell, by the way, the Cleveland Browns and in Week one, they had 18 penalties against the Tennessee Titans.
So I guess they just never learned their lesson as Faras discipline this year for the Cleveland Browns because they're still racking up penalties.
Double digits work. The penalties.
13 on Sunday in number 17.
For my surprise, that was number 16 for my surprise.
Had to be Freddie Kitchens in his decision to go for on the fourth and 16 now moving on to my number 17 surprise of the week, this one has to go to the Patriots rushing defense.
The pages rushing defense guys gave up 159 rushing yards in the ground to the Browns on Sunday, So now we kind of have a feel for what the Patriots Achilles heel is.
We thought that this defense was stacked, that they were going to set a bunch of historical records.
Well, yeah, with their passing defense against the past, picking off quarterbacks left and right this year.
But as far as their rush defense, this is the second game that the Patriots have shown a vulnerability here to running backs, and they struggled Thio tackle running backs year and just bring them down in the open and just holes holes.
Holes have happened on the field.
Second offensive line, the beat, the Patriots for over 100 rushing yards and game.
The Buffalo Bills.
That and Week four.
And now, when we get the Cleveland Browns have done as well.
So the Patriots struggled against the run against the Cleveland Browns.
Now we know what that Achilles heel is, what the weak spot is for the defense for the Patriots, and it's gonna get tougher when they take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and a number one rushing attack in the NFL led by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Mark Ingraham.
But young New England does have 19 interceptions, but now they're gonna have to stop a Baltimore offense there with Lamar Jackson first in the NFL would, uh, well, the Baltimore offense that's first in the NFL with 204 rushing yards per game.
So now moving on to number 18 for my surprise ****yst, we're gonna welcome in Gator Gal now 19 9 over here to the SportsCastr stream.
So number 19 here, our number 18 1st number 18 for my surprise ****yst will be the Green Bay Packers versus the Chiefs game on Sunday Night Football.
This game was actually close, and that surprised me.
I thought that the Packers were gonna rack up points.
I predicted that game to be a score of something like 30 I think was like 38 23 or something, So I didn't expect it to be 31 to 24 at all.
But now we know that the Kansas City Chiefs I thought that they would have all types of problems in this game struggling against the Packers offensively.
Well, the offense wasn't a problem at all.
Besides the first Link, the first like for the first quarter.
So but late in the first quarter, they stopped, started to finally move the football down the fields with about three minutes left to go in the first quarter for the cheese.
But the offense wasn't a problem at all.
It is the defense right now for Kansas City and is a huge problem.
Defensively, they could not guard running back Aaron Jones.
Running back Aaron Jones, in this game from the back field, had a huge receiving production game.
He had seven receptions for 159 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs on Sunday and now moving on to my number 19 surprise for the list.
This one has to be the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and that more had zero interceptions the last time that he had started the game in the NFL. Matt Moore.
It was over two years ago, then that more started that game in NFL.
His numbers, though, weren't bad.
He was 24 for 36 passing 267 passing yards through the air and to passing touchdowns from ATM.
Or, of course, Patrick Mahomes was over there on the sideline, giving Matt more pointers throughout the game to help him out.
Patrick my home's the rial M v p of that game as the mentor to Matt Moore to help him build a CZ confidence and keep this game to only a 31 to 24 game on Sunday Night Football.
So patching the home should really think about coaching after he's finished in his career with NFL.
Because this guy just as just an incredible brain.
It's just incredible what he could dio with his athletic abilities, but also with his football mind to like.
He is a genius as well.
He should definitely take up coaching some day.
And that was awesome to see when I heard that patching Mahomes was actually coaching along the sideline that more when he was when the defense was out there.
He was coaching Maur on the sideline throughout that game and now moving on to my last surprise, the week number 20.
This one happened on Monday Night Football.
This one was the Miami Dolphins being my surprise that we going up 14 on Monday Night Football.
They were leading in the first quarter after one.
Ryan Fitzpatrick got two first quarter touchdown passes, and after that, well, all things went downhill.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was picked off by former teammate Minka Fitzpatrick twice in that game, and everything just collapsed for the Dolphins.
But they did cover the spread, though.
The line on the game was, Ah, 14 point fever for Pittsburgh from the 14 the final.
So Miami did covered the spread.
But that is my last surprising list.
Number 20 is that the Dolphins who lead at the end of one against Pittsburgh on Monday, 14 to.
So before you go, I'm just gonna go over.
My surprise is one more time for you guys before you go right now. Really fast.
Unless this has to be the Vikings on Lee, winning by 10 points against the Redskins on Thursday night Football number two for surprise had to be matched.
Job throwing for 460 passing yards, filling in from that Ryan, his first start since 2015 for mass job number three On my list for surprises is the Philadelphia Eagles, with 218 rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills.
Number four on my list.
The surprises has to be Daniel Jones, with four touchdown passes for the Giants against the lines on Sunday.
Number five On my list for surprises is Jamis Winston.
Just another terrible performance on the field.
Four turnovers against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Number six on my list has to be Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, both wide receivers for the Buccaneers, ranking fifth and sixth ring out in the NFL in receiving yards.
Number seven on my list has to be the Courts versus Broncos game and that being a close game in general with Adam Venit Terry getting the game winning field off number eight on my list for surprises has to be the L A Rams rushing attack, struggling for only 98 yards, totals a team in London against the worst rushing team defending the run.
The Cincinnati Bangles number nine on my list of surprises.
Cooper Cup having a monster game, 220 receiving yards and a touchdown for the L.
A Rams number 11th surprise has to be zero turnovers in London between the Bangles and the Rams.
Here on my list of surprises for the week was t some hell with a receiving touch.
Now for the Saints.
Three receptions for 63 yards.
This kid can do it all, whether it's playing quarterback, whether it's doing runs on draw plays.
Special teams are lining up is a wide receiver.
Taysom Hill shows you why he has that versatility.
He could do it all.
He's number 11 on my list of surprises of the week, number 12 for surprise this week has to be Sam Darnold did not learn from his lesson a week ago against the Patriots on Monday Night Football, he threw three more interceptions on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Number 13 for surprise.
Most has to be the 40 Niners.
Biggest surprise you're my week has to be.
The 40 Niners destroying the Panthers, 51 of 13 did not expect that at all.
My list had to be Tevin Coleman going off four touchdowns from scrimmage for San Francisco on Sunday.
Number 15 on my list of surprises is the Browns, with three straight turnovers against the Patriots on Sunday that killed the game for Cleveland.
On my list of surprises, it's Freddie Kitchens in his decision to go for it on fourth and 16 from inside his own 20 yard line.
Number 17 for my A list of surprises has to be the Patriots rushing defense, giving up 159 rushing yards to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Number 18 for my surprising list has to be the Green Bay Packers vs Chiefs Game on Sunday Night Football being ah, closer game that I expected number 19 for a surprise this week for the NFL had to be Matt Moore with zero interceptions, his first game he's ever started in the NFL in over two years.
My last surprise of the week.
How to be in the Miami Dolphins leading 14 at half time in the first quarter Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
So much for watching this video is that is my NFL Week 8 20 surprises right there for everybody.
