then we should be golden.
You got that treat going out.
How many people normally watch the stream? You think usually like a good few 100? Well, it's started now, so I'm gonna go ahead and start it.
What's going on? Everybody? Welcome to the Pats Militia show. Today.
We're gonna be talking all things Patriots.
It's been it's definitely been a pretty crazy we compared to most so far this season.
So we're just gonna kind of dive within.
I'm Ryan were with Tim George.
How's it going today, Tim? Doing well, Friday football this weekend. I'm excited.
Seven and oh, baby, Yeah, it's always good going into a weekend seven.
No, with a match up.
And honestly, there's a lot of ground to be covered today with kind of the crazy stuff that's been going on this past week.
So first words just gonna kind of touch up on last week's game.
Just give, like both of our little thoughts about it, and, um, then we're gonna move forward and things that have gone this week and some of Brady's comments and such so as far as the last week.
Honestly, the one thing to be satis just the defense was just amazing.
Or in Donald, just kind of do anything.
I mean, four interceptions we had Gilmore, McCord, E.
Harmon and Terrence Brooks is good to see him up there.
So, overall defensive performance, just like it has been all season long, there's not much to say.
Other than that, especially, defense is just Everything just kind of worked out and everything was just great coverage. Great.
Like Sam Darnold literally couldn't do anything like he had 86 yards.
Just is rating was 3.6.
Like just terrible game.
Then the offense was able to go out there and just kind of keep the ball moving constantly and just build up good drives.
And Sony Michelle was able to get three touchdown, so great game overall.
But it was against the Jets, so moving forward.
So Tim was your kind of wrapped up thoughts about the Jets game.
I mean, I honestly feel bad for Sam Darnold because Adam Cases is he's gotta be the worst NFL head coach.
I said that when he got hired.
Um, I mean, luckily for us is Patriots fans in the N F on a F C East we got to buy weeks with Miami, just throwing their season away, and then the Jets haven't Adam Gay ste defense looked at looked phenomenal, like they have all season.
I just felt kind of bad for Sam Darnold because he is coaching around him.
So horrific on now, they're gonna have a fire sale.
So everybody's on the block from them.
So, yeah, I thought it was great.
No slow start just came out.
Um, you know, foot on the pedal the whole time.
That's always really good to just kind of see, just go out there, grab that easy win and bada bing Bada boom onto the next week.
So another thing that we kind of obviously have talk about, which isn't really fun to talk about where some of Brady's comments this week.
So he kind of was saying that he's not really sure anymore about how money, like, years left he's got.
So would you really think of that? Because he left it kind of like open.
He's like, Oh, either have five or this could be my last.
Yeah, I think it stems from frustration.
I think he has a lot of frustration, so, yeah, his comments were I mean, he put this house up for sale.
I'm not worried about that.
Yeah, I mean, he's got kids and a family.
It's way deeper than just playing in the Patriots.
I think, um but I think comes to the frustration which obviously we didn't see coming.
But, you know, Josh Gordon got released.
We'll talk about that later, but I think he's still upset with the offensive weapons around him.
Yes, I think his track record talk speaks for itself when he has given up, you know, money and tried to restructure everything to make sure that the team got better.
Um, and so I think he's kind of frustrated with how things have been so impulse.
At the time, I understood the Antonio Brown said that guests, but it was quick that cut him loose right away.
And I don't think, you know, with Tom being in the organisation for as long as he has, he's seen tremendous, you know, kind of gray areas in the organization.
From the top down right? We don't have to talk about those instances, but he has.
So he's like, why we jump into the conclusion so quick on this one? Yeah.
Why don't we sit down, put a game plan like we always have, you know, from Deflate Gate to besides Gato, you know, give me everything massage.
Yeah, So you know you got it.
I think he's just very frustrated on.
And I think that was just, like warning signs him kind of like, you know, telling that to craft and maybe even Bella check if they're not on the same page.
Yeah, that he kind of wants kind of more of a say which, like which which, honestly, he should definitely have just say like when they wanna keep players or moved waiters around.
I feel like I mean, like, he's the quarterback.
He's the whole reason behind all these Super Bowls.
I mean, the coaching definitely house, But having like him up there for all these big games and stuff and coming back and winning them and always being on top like it really comes down to him, So he should have.
We kind of have a say and like who we keep and kind of what we build the offense around.
So he could definitely be getting frustrated with all that, which is, which is kind of sad, honestly, because like all Patriots fans, we just kind of want to keep see him, keep playing and keep winning championships.
Yeah, there's gonna be a book word written her out around this.
I mean, they keep tremendous amount of things, disagreements in house, like it should.
Oh, yeah, kind of like a family.
Not always a green, but agreeing for the greater good.
Yeah, and I just feel like he he's starting to boil up, and I feel like that was just, like, a horrible He's, like, very emotional in the sense of when he had that decision.
But yeah, also getting overblown because, you know, there's no I mean our society, the journalism.
Now I just want to talk about the negativity.
Yeah, just say, Hey, it was an emotional conversation.
I mean, if you ask them about Julian Edelman after he drops a pass, he'll probably say something negative about him.
It's just in the moment, and maybe that's where it was.
Uh, there's plenty of season to go, so we don't need Thio.
I'm like, at the end of the day, we're still in good shape, and we just kind of focused on one season at a time.
I mean, obviously, we hope Brady kind of sticks around, but the only thing that would really be able to see is just kind of overtime and coming out where this team's goes in performs.
So let's hope for the best.
And then kind of another kind of shocker this week was, Well, we saw Josh Gordon come back to practice.
Well, what's wrong with the Mohammed Sunu trade for? So that was Tuesday morning after our big 33 nothing win.
So what is your kind of opinion on that pickup? Woke up super happy.
Saw that that was reported that Mohammed, it's a new first thing I thought was You got a guy that's a veteran that knows how to play very, very good at blocking as a wide receiver position.
Yeah, yeah, every night to pick up around here like, never really had a chance like he had a pretty big impact.
Get up on impact.
Good thing about him.
Which is why I have been thinking that we also like Josh Gordon Moore kind of long term injury or more reliable.
Have much history of any kind of controversy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They kind of go hand in hand.
Running 20 miles per hour.
Yes, I think with time unravels, I like having him very convenient.
Isn't it always like Adam? Kind of always kind of seen.
Brady had kind of them on the same frequency.
Get down there open and breaking out on work so many times.
I guess we'll see it because you're also pretty telling.
You pretty much got rid of Gordon.
What happened? Yeah.
You want to talk about Just hold on.
We gotta talk about that again.
Uh, I just got a Rhea that.
Then after this, we can hop right into the ER.
All right. You talk? Yep.
All right. We should be good.
You can continue to just talk about the best pickup so far.
The best pickup on the week, I think for the team this year has been Ah, Justin, The hell He came from the Ravens.
He had to be dropped by the ravens because this compensated, funky rule that the NFL has based on, you know, when the player was picked up in the Ravens, if they didn't drop him, they were gonna lose their fourth round pick.
Plus, they just signed him to a two year statute based on this funky rule.
They had to cut someone else and they didn't want to cut that player S o hard balls said it was the toughest decision he's made all year.
He thinks he's the best special teams player in the NFL.
No one picks this guy up.
We get him for nothing.
Now we way help our specialties, which has been phenomenal all year. Even better.
And that's how good teams in the special teams will showcase in the playoffs in in the Super Bowl.
So that's going unknown.
But keep an eye on that guy he's going to be starting this week.
He had six tackles for the Ravens on special teams, which led the team before it got cut.
And now we ggo in the rich getting richer.
Baby, I'm so happy.
I think that was the pick up of the week, to be honest.
Yes, special teams pick ups are always nice and like At the end of the day, it's another side of the ball.
So once again, and thanks for telling me about him because I was really too familiar with him.
So it's It's always exciting to kind of see the Patriots work in these kind of random players on different sides of the ball, so that's exciting.
So enough with that kind of news that came out this week and another crazy week of Patriots football kind of continuing.
So let's just hop into this Browns game coming up on Sunday here for 25 game in Fox Borough.
So, um, so what do you think? Basically, I go, I think, Do you think it's gonna go well for us? You think it might be a little tougher compared to previous games? Well, I think that Baker Mayfield's gonna meet Casper the ghost.
Oh, yeah, Monday.
But so currently Baker Mayfield obviously is the number one pick a year ago, right? Yeah, He comes out last year, played 14 games in 2018.
He had 14 interceptions well through so far this this year.
With thereby, he already has 11 through six.
So in struggling, um, he's he averaged about, you know, 64%.
Almost last completion rating.
His receiving corps got O B. J.
And he went down almost 7%.
He's down to 56 s o.
I mean, he's Struggle City.
But, you know, I think that from an offensive standpoint, we're gonna and I say we just keep bringing the heat on Baker on.
I could kill make quite a few years that he's already done, and we'll be able to capitalize on turnovers for Baker's side. So far.
So that would be my two takes at Baker.
Um What? What are your thoughts on that? Did you want me to get into the beers for the Browns? Defense or offensive? Yeah.
I'll kind of diving a little kind of Yeah, I definitely Yeah.
Why don't we talk about kind of offensive defensive? How, like we should be ableto utilize your team and how we've been playing to stop them? Yeah.
Um he just said Yeah, he hasn't been too hot this year.
Like what? The five touchdowns, 11 interceptions and which is the way the defense has been getting these interceptions.
I feel like we'll definitely go to get some nice turnovers and kind of keep the hands in our in the inner offense.
And, yeah, that's the thing.
Like, we definitely want to keep them off the field mostly, and kind of established those long drives because there often is, does her miss.
You know what I mean? Yeah, without a doubt, I mean that for the Browns that make this a real good game, and I know it's going to sound crazy is Nick Chubb needs to be doubly involved.
The guy already has.
He's averaging over 100 yards per game, really sixties.
He's got five yards per carry.
Hey, also got 128 for Katie's got 20 receptions to, So that guy has been actually pretty well.
He's been playing great and they haven't even though we I mean, I wish we would have been able to trade for him.
We obviously didn't but O. B J.
I mean, it's crazy the way they can't utilize him and get him open to be successful.
I mean, yes, he has 29 catches, but he's been under mean some games he's been has even shown up to the game.
Like in the sense of it and understand sheet in the team sucks.
Did you see what Ah, Bill ball check Always says Joan book before they play.
Please don't score.
I mean, no, no, no, he says.
Ah, where is it? He says he like an other previous match chums.
Odell Beckham says that Bell checked before the game.
He says, I hope you enjoy today.
But there's not gonna be much for you.
Yeah, no, I mean, obviously, we're going to shut him down.
He's got yeah, we're gonna have to get beat.
I will say Landry has had tremendous success this year with after he catches the ball yards after the catch.
I mean, I would love to see Landry has to be one of the top up there.
Oh, yeah, He's been doing real well.
Um, but delicate does this every week you got, we're gonna we're gonna make him give Nick Chop 40 the ball 14 times or something, or we're going to stress out Baker Mayfield bring a lot of pressure and make him turn the ball over.
But I think that is much talent.
As the Browns have.
They're the most talented but undisciplined team in the league.
People are saying they're going to go to the Super Bowl and all this stuff.
They do have some playmakers at D.
We'll talk about in a minute, But I mean, they just handed.
Now, if they put it all together, they could be a very, very tough matchup on paper.
Right now, they haven't done that.
Um, I mean, there's they're just underwhelmed right now in Baker's is making a significant amount of holding out of the ball too much on everything.
And so I think we are defense.
Plain as is today.
Perfect matchup for a sandal that sounds crazy.
Match up their weaknesses, our strengths.
And I think that we're gonna be, oh, be successful on Sunday.
Yeah, exactly there.
And like, they've been allowing 25.
7 points per game.
So I feel like putting up points on them.
It shouldn't be hard at all, like especially with our offense and like them really played any, like, crazy good offenses like but like 25.
7, um, this kind of foreign to the sea? Well, they 0.
6 games in, but just kind of allowing that, like that many points.
That's just like That's just kind.
A lot of points is against you for an offense that's not performing very well.
Yeah, I mean, their losses came against Tennessee, which obviously was Week one.
They got smoked, Uh, and we know what happened out here.
Mary only got benched already, so that offense wasn't phenomenal.
Didn't lose to the Rams, which are another team that's underperforming.
That has a good offense.
We thought they lost to the 40 Niners, which is obviously a second undefeated team behind us right there. Six.
And also they've been playing very well.
Yeah, you know, they lost 31 3 and then they did play Seattle.
Seattle's you know, one of those teams that is pretty efficient.
On the offensive side, they do have one of the best quarterbacks with Russell Wilson s O.
But then their wins came against the Jets, which was Luke Falk.
And he's barely counts.
But they didn't pay Baltimore, so I was I was pretty impressed they'd beat Baltimore.
Yeah, I was like I gotta give him, you know, they do have games like that, right? I mean, like I said, they're very talented, but underperforming.
That's like hit her mess team like things to a team like Tennessee.
Get smoked out, the off the field and then they go out.
Be the team later on Baltimore, which is just insane.
Yeah, I'd say it's kind of hit or miss with how they performing, and I just I definitely think like our defense will be a toe.
Hold them with kind of how their offense has spent looking and also just I think our offense is just kind of like it seemed like last week.
I mean, we were playing the Jets, but it seems like we've just been kind of moving the ball like that first drive we had.
What was it like, nine minutes? Yes, first drive of the game.
The Jets don't even touch the ball until, like the six minute mark.
So just being able to kind of just kind of see the way we've been kind of just doing these like once, Ah, with working in so funny Michelle.
And once we get these kind of long, kind of like drives and stuff, I just think that this game is totally in her hands and wish the way like like adult men has been getting downfield and ****.
That's definitely going to be healthier now.
Jacoby Meyers and stuff.
They've all been kind of just kind of picking it up.
I'm not sure if sister News gonna play.
Have you heard it? He said he wants to.
I mean, he's been practicing all week.
I don't see why he doesn't play.
I do gotta run in a minute.
But I want to say one thing is, um this is a perfect match up for Sony.
Michelle and I don't know if Bernie is playing, but our running game, they're giving up 154 yards in the ground.
Oh, so and you know, bold prediction.
I think Patriots win 31 13.
I think that Baker turns of all over twice and I think were very successful on, and it's not really that close to the game.
And the Patriots had this handedly and I think by next Tuesday there might be one more move.
That would be my guess.
Yeah, uh, everybody enjoy your weekend and please, for me.
Um, I got to get my prediction.
Before we help off here, I'll say like 31 to 10.
Um, just hopefully we just got a really focus on is kind of slowing down their running game.
And I think we shouldn't have a problem with the way both sides involved in performing.
Then we'll keep you updated.
And let's hope for another Patriots win and get a to know.
Then we'll be sitting pretty at the half way through the season.
Go pats, baby, go tights.
Let's go see, everybody thinks
