What's up, people? It's Pat Geary with yard Barker.
And today we're talking about the judge or not.
That is the NBA's Western Conference.
For a little perspective.
Did you know that of the eight teams with the best championship odds, according to sports books, six of them hail from the Western Conference this season? The Lakers, the Clippers, the Rockets, the Warriors, the Jazz in the Nuggets? And that doesn't even include last year's Western Conference finals.
Portland Trail Blazers put differently.
This conference would be so competitive that it was three of the seven teams that have just mentioned won't even make it out of the first round playoffs this season.
Just think about that for a second.
So how can we tell which teams are true contenders? It's a couple of things.
The first thing I'm looking at is the ability went on the road.
Don't be tricked by teams whose records are inflated by Jia Croft.
Geographical home court advantage is like the Blazers, the Jazz in the Nuggets, the letter which had NBA's best 34 7 record at home last year but only 20 and 21 record on the road the next thing I'm looking for is star compatibility.
In other words, do your best players skill sets complement one another.
Where do they overlap? The Rockets get the axe here because their two best players, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, are the only two players in NBA history to ever have a usage rate over 40% for an entire season.
I saw a ball can only take you so far, and the Rockets should know that by now.
And this should also eliminate the Warriors, who will have to point guards with very similar skill sets.
And Steph Curry and D'Angelo Russell.
And guess what? Defense is not contained anywhere within their friend diagram.
That leaves us with a battle of L.
A in Staples Center for Western Conference.
Supremacy between the Lakers include ER's This year, this match will come down to which superstar duo has the higher ceiling in that series.
Huai Leonard, Paul George versus LeBron James and Anthony Davis retaking.
Give me the Lakers by a hair in that Siri's a unibrow hair, if you will, because the Lakers will have no answer for Anthony Davis on defense
