As promised, we are back.
I'm gonna give it a quick little minute so everyone can ah can go ahead and refresh the page.
I'm gonna give it a quick minute role here real quick, just so you all can refresh the page and what not get folk back in here.
You know what? That's one thing if I if I couldn't know, I probably do have ah, direct direct line to someone.
Who, Uh hoo Ah, too rotten sportscaster.
I should I should definitely definitely talked to him about possibly being able to change the title of the stream while in the stream.
Can you do that? No, you can't.
All right, Well, right now, the title is what I wanna talk about, and that is holed up.
And that is what is going on with Ian Thomas.
So far this year, Ian Thomas has been a complete and I do mean a complete mystery, right? Has not been.
I think I think so far.
He and Thomas's role on the team has been, at best the best describe it is non existent, non existent.
Look, we go over what the stats were last year that we understand what happened last year with me and Thomas.
Greg Olson went out to different times last season.
Early on, he went out with that foot injury and and Thomas came in and it didn't really look all that good.
And by saying that little right, good, he just didn't look like the kind of guy that would have been, uh, that really would have really could have filled in for for for Greg Olsen at all.
He was mainly a blind, was a solid blocker.
But But and Thomas Phil's first what, 45 games he was.
He was in the rotation.
He was in the rotation.
He, uh, Penis did not.
It was not a good pass catcher.
Simple is that he was not a good pass catcher, but in the back half of the season, I want to say that last, what five, maybe six games of the season last year.
And Thomas was great and Thomas show that he was actually really, really good.
He was I was really, really good.
He was a factor and Thomas was definitely a factor and he was definitely someone who could become maybe a focal point.
You saw a really good jumping off point from what he was last year.
Two way could become maybe this year, maybe in the next year, once Greg Olson is gone, but spot.
But But so far this year, it's not even that he hasn't had production.
It's like he hasn't even been on the field.
So last year, like I mentioned when he got opportunities to start off the year he didn't go without a game up until Week 13 there was not a single game where he had more than three receptions.
His best game before we 13 was three receptions for 38 yards, and that wasn't the Giants game.
And that giant scheme is we all.
If you remember, that was, Ah, heartbreaker.
When we had no, we had to come back at the very, very end of the game, 63 yards.
That was a game where I thought, actually knew for effect.
I knew we lost that game when Odell Beckham Jr threw a touchdown on us across the field to say Quan Barkley running a wheel route and we didn't and no a song.
No one solid minutes.
Tae kwon and A with the crazy part was, Oh, B J is left handed.
So he threw the ball from the silo and left of the left up on the field, all the way across the field to the right side of the field.
That's a hard door to make.
That's a very hard though, to make.
And it was a pretty game at all about the point, though.
It wasn't until our second game against the Bucks, where we saw Greg.
I'm saying great little for some reason when we saw he and Thomas really show his skills, he had five catches for not for 46 yards the next game against the Browns, which we didn't lose.
But I mean, look, way lost.
A lot of games didn't back him.
He had nine catches for 77 yards.
He showed out in a lot of those games.
Know that back into this of the other season he was showing that he could be a focal point, or at least a very good contributing member off the offense, and so far this year, he hasn't done much of anything.
Now we do know he didn't get injured at the very, very end of the year.
And those questions about I think, his leg and then questions about his back coming into training camp.
No, no, not training camp.
It was coming into mini camp.
He had problems, so he didn't play during minicamp and then coming into training camp.
He was kind of limited sometimes, But you didn't really hear anything about him having some kind of, you know, some kind of really bad injury that would prevent him from playing once the season came around and in every week, all six weeks of this season, we have not seen Ian Thomas's name once on the injury report, and I mean any questionable, probable doubtful any of that stuff.
So he's been and you, you have to You you have to designate if you have a player, if you have a guy who is hurt, if you want to talk about being hurt, it doesn't player on your team who practices a little bit less than they usually do.
You have to put them on the injury report.
You have to say that they were limited.
You can say arrest or you can say, you know, uh, personal or whatever it is, but they practiced less than they usually do.
They have to go on the injury report, so there's two things happening.
One, Greg Little isn't it is.
He's healthy and he's not playing two.
We know he's healthy because teams are heavily, heavily regulated.
You have toe, if you don't.
If you don't put guys on your injury report, it's a huge thinks a huge fine you get may be missed out on draft picks as well, but for before and Thomas this year.
To have this is going to go over there.
Snap counts. Okay.
His snap counts for these 1st 6 games in the Rams game, where we scores 27 to 30.
So it was high scoring.
He only played in four snaps on offense in the second game against the Bucks, which is a bad game, 14 to 20.
We had what for? We have four field goals in a safety, and the only touchdown of the game came from Chris Godwin.
He played to total snaps in the third game against the Cardinals.
We scored 38 points.
This man play only five snaps, the game against the Texans.
He played 10 snaps, the game against the Jags.
He played 11 snaps in this past game against the Against the Bucks.
He played five snaps.
Now I will say this in this past game in London against the Bucks.
There was two plays in particular that I thought he and Thomas might have a shot to make some kind of impact on the game.
The 1st 1 actually end up being a lot less than I expected.
It was the fourth down call.
Um, the thing was in the first half was the 1st 4th down on the goal line.
Not the one where, where Chris McCaffrey touchdown.
It was an earlier one than that.
What we missed, I'm pretty sure where, where he and Thomas had his helmet on and he was running onto the field and he got pulled back.
It was it was kind of a weird, focused moment for the camera to be on me and Thomas, of all people, of all players.
The camera focused on me and Thomas, and he was not a common field and then he got pulled back and I think myself.
Okay, that's kind of weird times looking.
I was making the effort to make sure that I pay attention to see if this man and Thomas would be on the field in this game.
And the next time I saw him, it was a bootleg play where you could tell that he and Thomas was the hot route he was.
He was the hot read.
He came from the left side of lime, came in with the ball, is snapped.
Uh, he came from underneath the old line and his ran to the flat.
So there was only two routes there.
There was that flat route.
And then there was a corner out to a man further off the field.
Both those routes were double team, but you.
But in that kind of play on that gonna play you usually that the tight end is usually the hot read there, whether he comes from the opposite side when they come from the opposite side or or the that same strong side with the rollout going to the tight end or was in that flat is usually the hot read, and he doesn't even opportunity there at all of this wasn't open, but other than that I have not noticed a single time where he and Thomas has been really targeted.
He hasn't really been targeted very many times this year.
I'm looking at it.
One target, one target in six games.
That's pretty serious.
That's pretty serious.
He's only played in what about 35 snaps so far, 36 snaps so far in six games, averaging six snaps a game.
For a guy who in 2018 a torrent 26 2018 didn't play.
You play, you play all the games.
But he didn't really have much of an impact, and most of them a guy loaned up, having over 300 yards and two touchdowns in only a few games that you actually have an impact in and you just move away from him.
I'm kind of confused about what exactly is going on here.
Ah, there's a guy named Chris Jenkins who runs Charlotte Vibe.
You don't know what Charlotte vibe is.
It's Ah, it's a dude.
It's a company ran by this dude who's an independent media member.
He's on his game. Man talks about the Panthers.
He was over the Hornets as well, and he might talk about the hurricane zone.
No uncle about hockey.
But I talked to him a little bit earlier and he would tell me that he noticed it as well.
And that e actually talked to me and Thomas and ask him about it and and just said, Look, I'm healthy, I'm good to go But the coaches aren't asking to do to the girl in the game, so I can only do what I'm asked to do.
He said he's ready to play.
He says he's good to go, but he's just not being asked t o be a part of the offensive to be a part of the offensive scheme, which is, I understand that you feel me if he and Thomas was a scrub or it over yet a ton of explosive pieces on offense, and we do have a lot of people have a lot of ways.
We have weapons, all right.
We definitely have weapons on offense, but I mean, we know that Chris McCaffrey obviously.
But it's not like we're we're really sewing the ball, spreading the ball around evenly.
Every single game.
It's like the ball is moving around.
It's like the focus moving around every other game one game to see Greg Olsen be the focus.
The next game, it's Curtis Samuel the next game and focusing on D.
Jame or the next game might look at Jerry s right or whatever.
But it goes, but it moves around from person to person, so that's why I'm the biggest thing here.
The biggest thing is that even with Ian Thomas being out, you think, OK, well, if he and Thomas isn't getting the game, that must mean that we're focusing on Greg Olsen a lot.
There's really only been two games where Greg Olsen has gotten over over 40 yards, two games out of six, where Greg Olson's gotten over 40 yards.
And that was the first Tampa game and in the game against the Cardinals.
I have a very big question about what's going on here with the Panthers.
Well, the parent, the teams don't okay, were foreign, too.
But I have a really big question about what exactly is going on with you and Thomas.
He has to be healthy.
There's no doubt in my mind the man is healthy because if he wasn't healthy, there would be some big problems coming up for the team.
So my question is, what's up? What do you know of Turner and Ron Rivera and whoever else? What did they know about you and Thomas? That's keeping him off the field.
If he's 100% healthy and he's not being limited in practice, it's gotta be something.
It's really got to be something because for this man to have done what he did at the back end of last year at the back end of last year, where he racked up on to say at least 100 probably probably around 220 250 yards.
I'm probably 202 102 120 2050 yards and just the last what five games last season coming into this season.
And he's only played 36 total snaps and that only has one target.
Now I understand if we're targeting Greg Olsen or you know, if the or if the if the scheme doesn't really call for throwing a tight ends all that much, but it's very hard.
You have a really hard time to convince me that there is that unless this man is actually a bad person, on the team, you know, is lazy at practice or I don't know what kind of a locker room issue I don't get.
I don't know. That's kind of the thing that you could.
You could prescribe Thio, Ian Thomas.
But there's no way you tell me that.
A healthy, rising fourth round draft pick, tight end on Lee plays 36 snaps in six games.
And it's on Lee targeted once, especially in games like that.
The Arizona game, the Arizona game where we were way beat, beat the brakes off those dudes.
I think we could have targeted our timing's a little bit more, and even this this Tampa game where the score we beat will be taped by 11 points.
But the game was out of hand a little bit earlier than that.
It was we're up by three possessions.
At one point is getting me kind of confused.
I feel like the team is doing something weird here.
I mean, first of all, we're noticing that Chris McCaffrey is staying in games that were comfortably ahead in like the Arizona game.
He was staying in that game.
We had the Jags game in hand and we're still heading the ball in the middle.
We'll get him inside handoffs.
This Tampa game.
It was obvious the Bucks had Chris McCaffrey's number.
They're the only team this year who even came close to stopping him.
But even in the end of the game, we're up three possessions, but we're still handing the ball off to Christian McCaffrey.
I feel that the team was just trying their best to not put very many backups in.
I'm not sure what it is, and it's not like we're actually focusing on getting great Olsen anytime and he kind of any targets.
He's not the ah primary focus of this offense at all.
So it's not like he and Thomas will be taking away from anything that great also have been doing.
I mean, in that gaming us that Jags.
Greg Olson was targeted twice for his funeral.
You and you got no catches.
He was targeted four times in the Houston game for two catches in only five yards.
So it's not like it, you would think.
Okay, maybe we're not using our our timing's that much.
But in the Arizona game he had six catches for 75 yards.
He had four cats for 52 yards.
Just this past week, he had 110 yards against Tampa the first time we played them.
So I'm not exactly sure.
What, exactly is the issue with Ian Thomas? Is it that the scheme doesn't really call for using tight ends very often, And when it does, we have Greg Olsen there.
Or is it that the man is just Is there something else going on with Ian Thomas that the team does not want to put a man? Because look, no matter how you shake this up, no matter what you got to say about this, at the very least, we're seeing Greg Olsen steadily 60 plus snaps a game.
Except for the Cardinals game, where he only got 48 snaps.
I have some really big questions.
I'm I'm assuming, and I have to assume here that the point of order is Look, we're gonna get whatever we can add a Greg Olsen while he's here in the last year of his deal, so in, you'll get yours in.
A couple will get you yours next year, but for right now, it doesn't mean tight end on the field and has to be Greg.
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I'm not sure how I feel about putting the sucking your guy on ice after a building his confidence up into the back end of last year.
That's kind of strange to me.
That's kind of strange to me.
I'm not sure exactly what's going on.
I wish I did, and I want to get one more bit of confirmation from someone before I actually go in and, uh, and make this video for YouTube, which is youtube dot com slash Eltron.
If you already know I have daily videos on the Panthers there, we've been going hard on being grinding this month.
We've been going waiting list on this month, but, um, I have some big questions, and these are some of the using one that you wouldn't think too much about.
Okay, well, come on now.
It's your It's your backup tight.
And who cares about your backup tight end getting getting snaps when you have a backup quarterback in? You got Christian McCaffrey.
You're looking at D. J. Morris.
I mean, you got jus right? You got all these other dudes on the field right now.
Do you really need or care about what your backup tight ends doing? I understand that, like in the in a vacuum, I would get that.
But he and Thomas showed a lot of promise last year, and we could have potentially been doing a lot of double tight and stuff.
And it's not like we haven't been in heavy sets.
We do run a lot of 44 receiver, one tight end or even five receivers.
Old really r r five up are empty.
Sets are usually four receivers in a tight end, but, UM, or three receivers Chris McCaffrey in the slot and the tight end.
But you can't tell me that there's been no time at all what we could have had and Thomas in the game to do, Ah, to run a double tight end set.
And at the very least, you run too tight ends early on.
You tell them both down two routes.
Well, you let you have and Thomas Block for the majority of time, and you bring that back in the third quarter and just see how the defense reactivity and Thomas on a route if they cover him with, like, actual with actual, you know, actually trying to cover him, then you you square that away, so Okay, Okay.
They're gonna look at him.
What we'll do is we'll go away from that.
What if they don't cover Ian Thomas? You have an open man? Yes.
Because if you have three receivers and two tight ends or to part two receivers to tight ends and Chris McCaffrey back there was that 56789 10 thinking, 23 You 3 to 1.
Um, that's 65 No.
Five linemen to two.
Tight ends. Quarterback.
You don't talk about it.
We won't receiver in a receiver and are in the running back.
But the point is, the two time instead, you could do a lot of different things with crossing routes to China is going to the flat.
You could have a post in a flat.
You could do a lot of things here.
And these air easy, easy reads for a car.
Alan, The best friend of any backup or rookie quarterback is the running back in the tight end.
And I don't know why the team is not using me and Thomas.
If he's healthy, I don't know what it is.
I'll be on this coming my YouTube channel tomorrow.
This and a video talking about Dennis Dailey are six round pick left tackle who have been playing like a first round pick.
Dennis Dailey has been looking very good.
We had to call out.
We had to call out Darryl Williams.
Name a lot When he's that left title we had to call out, Uh, way were kind of calling out Greg Little a little bit, although we didn't really get too many reps of is, he had a concussion.
I think he's at two concussions.
Point is, it ain't looking all that good for Greg a little right now.
Uh, but do Miss Daly has been playing really good.
Ah, lot better than I think anyone would have expected.
We're getting that my child tomorrow and for right now, So I got for you coming back on will be here tomorrow.
I'll talk about something else.
Not sure what's gonna be yet, but it's gonna be some.
All right, so this coming out, if you haven't already, check out YouTube Channel and Joe tomorrow.
