Hello Lakers Nation.

Lakers Will Your Lakers just picked up a preseason victory? Preseason might not mean a whole lot, but coming off a two back to back losses against the Brooklyn Nets in China, getting this win over the Golden State Warriors was a nice step forward for a team, especially with hardly anybody playing.
No Anthony Davis.
No LeBron James.
No Kyle Kuzma know Quinn Cook.
No Troy Daniels.
The list goes on and on and on. Raj on Rondo.
Number of other players.
Danny Green, Avery Bradley.
So many players not playing, but ended up being a really enjoyable game.
It was an exciting game that we saw some young players, a lot of guys who are going to playing with the South Bay Lakers in the D League, and we got an opportunity to get a look at them and it ended up being a ton of fun.
So we're gonna talk about three takeaways from this game before we dive into it first.
Quick shot out two up time.
How energy should feel like vitamin 7 11 g n.
C and amazon dot com.
I think some of the Lakers players may have had some up time energy drink before this game, especially DeVante k cock.
He was flying all over the place, tremendous energy, so probably had some up time energy.
I can't confirm that, though.
So, guys, let's dive into it.
Three takeaways and number one.
I can't hide this.
Can't can't bury the leader.
What a performance.
Undrafted rookie Zach nor Bella out of Gonzaga.
I just found out that his nickname Miss Snacks, but the way snacks Norville out of Gonzaga.
Incredible game from him.
Three of eight from 37 of eight from line six of 13 shooting.
Overall, this guy looks like a real find, and this could be a big deal from Lakers moving forward.
Now, we don't want to overreact to just one game.
I've got people out there.
They're itself that are telling me.
Trevor, the Lakers need a bench KCP and play.
Zach Norville, Casey piece of veterans been in the league for a long time.
Now he's he's a confident and competent player.
He's a guy who can get in there and play on a veteran team like the Lakers, but I get it.
Zach Norville did some impressive things tonight and played really well.
Did things on both ends of the floor.
He doesn't play like a rookie, play smart and under control.
Yes, there are some mistakes every now and then, but frankly, KCP probably makes this is some or boneheaded mistakes than Zack Norvell does out there.
And I know that could be a source of frustration of Lakers fans.
But look, Norville, nothing can take anything away from a fantastic performance.
Played under control was so smart, so crafty, knocking down his shots.
We saw him play really, really well during the Las Vegas summer league.
And so seeing him continue to play well here in preseason action.
So great thing I think he's gonna be spending some time with South Bay Lakers.
But if he keeps playing at this level, it won't be long before the Lakers were calling him up because it would be hard to keep him off the floor with how well he played in this game.
No, again, we'll have to see how he does in the next performance.
But tonight's game he was clearly the standout player.
And so all the credit to him and exciting if the Lakers really did find a diamond in the rough here with an undrafted player.
Next, take away Dwight Howard.
Dwight Howard returns to Los Angeles, returns to Staples Center.
This is his first game back, playing in front of the home crowd.
I did hear some booze here and there, and that's to be expected, given the way Dwight left town last time.
But he had a heck of a game.
Listen to this stat line.
I don't think I ever thought I would be listing these kind of stats for Dwight Howard.
12 points, 13 rebounds.
Wow! Okay, one block.
Typical stuff, but six assists and eight of 10 from the free throw line for Dwight Howard.
Six assists, eight of 10 from the line.
In fact, Dwight Howard was second on the team in assists.
He had a really nice performance, played 22 minutes out there.
So did his damage in limited time and looked really good.
He had a number of really nice passes in the Post one memorable one to divine Take a Cargo was cutting across the lane.
Did a nice job facilitating, which normally Dwight doesn't do a whole heck of a lot of his rebounding.
Was doing a nice job on the boards, even grabbed four offensive rebounds.
This is the Dwight Howard that we were hoping to see.
No, he's not the explosive monster that he was back in st 2010 2011 right before he got the Lakers before he got injured.
We're not seeing the athletic freak, the guy that's jumping out of the J M and throwing down all these hammer dunks.
That guy doesn't really exist anymore.
Instead, we see a Dwight Howard now focusing on the little things, and that's exactly what he needs to you.
Because remember his contracts nonguaranteed.
So he's got to make sure that he's on point with this play, and so far, he's been doing the right things.
He's setting hard screens.
He's rolling to the rim.
He's passing the ball when he should.
He's doing some really good things on both ends.
I still think Javale McGee's gonna wind up the starter, but this one.
This game was the best. Dwight Howard.
We've seen no question.
Look, the Golden State Warriors were resting a lot of their players, just like the Lakers were resting a lot of players.
So it's not like he was going up against the best of the best.
And so that's definitely a factor here.
But still, this was a positive step forward for Dwight Howard that only played nine games last season.
He looks like he's starting to get his legs under him.
We'll see how he looks in the next game when Draymond is back in there.
But for right now, nice performance from Dwight Howard and a positive sign moving forward.
Last thing last take away.
Actually, during the game, we got confirmation from the Lakers that Anthony Davis's thumb injury is just a sprain, that his memory came back clean.
We had heard that earlier in the day, but officially from the Lakers, he is day to day.
That's a great sign that tells me that he's probably own track to go ahead and play in the Lakers season opener against the Clippers.
We saw footage of him shooting around before the game looked to be just fine.
Everybody can exhale, breathe a sigh of relief.
And on top of that, Kyle Cruise, Mo.
We also got word that Kyle Kuzma has been cleared for non contact drills.
Now that's a good step forward towards him, actually making his return from that stress injury in his foot.
They'll go with noncontact drills.
Then they'll haven't play a little bit of one on one than some three on three, probably some five on five.
That's usually the progression that we see, and then he'll be cleared for game action.
Will he be ready in time for opening tonight? We don't know, but you can't rule it out at this point.
The fact that he's been cleared for non contact rule drills is a good sign.
And if he's not ready for opening night, it probably won't be much longer because he is itching to get out on the floor.
He was tweeting about earlier today about how he can't wait to get back to the court playing basketball again, and the Lakers could certainly use him.
I think he's gonna be a real nice addition to the team.
I think that he's gonna bring together a lot of things that we've seen so far during preseason.
