What's going on, everybody? It is Andre from the finish line podcast brought to Barton Rap sports here, all shit.
There we go reporting reported on the Chargers and the Steelers post game.
Um, so usually, you know, I do these streams every Sunday after the charges play because I am a Chargers fan, but I'll definitely give my perspective and opinion from both sides of the ball.
Eso Let's actually first go over the Steelers.
The Steelers definitely are a team that intrigues me only because I always expect the Steelers to be good.
I'm 24 years old. I was born in 1995.
I personally never in my fandom of watching puts watching sports watching football.
I've never known the Steelers to not be good.
So seeing the minutes position, um, one without any marquee players on their team in terms of like, you know, household names box off his names is not concerning.
But it is different.
Um, I definitely like the way that they have responded to, you know, losing their franchise quarterback in the first game of the season, 1st 2nd game season, losing their office burger.
Um, I mean, how do you respond to that.
I like the way that they have responded to, you know, lose not only big band, but losing big band Lay beyond Bill Antonio Brown.
I'm impressed with how they handled adversity.
I think that they did a really good job game planning when they had Mason.
Rudolph definitely hope for a speedy recovery for him.
But they did a good job with game plan.
It makes the Rudolph and then Devlin Hodges.
I had no clue who Devlin fucking Hodges Waas, and I have to look him up again because I had no clue with his give was.
But Debra Hodges is actually younger than me.
Um, he went to Sanford.
You know, quince, Small world.
I went to U N C G University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where midmajor school and in all sports, we don't have a football team.
Were pretty big school.
We got 20,000 people, but we don't have a damn football team, and we play in the Southern Conference or the so called and Devlin.
Hodges played in the so called Now Granny didn't play us because we don't football team.
But, um, this was the first that I ever heard of him.
The first thing I ever heard of a Sanford player playing in so con or playing in the NFL.
And he was really good in college, you know? He had multiple 4000 yard seasons, Um, through 36 31 32 touchdowns in his last three years.
64 70 65 70 69%.
Um, career thrower.
So very accurate guy.
Um, it's just, you know, when you're when you go to those mid major schools, then it's hard to get looked at.
You know, unless you're Carson Wentz coming out of North Dakota State winning three foot out of Inuit Carson one winning three national titles Back to back to back.
Um, but anyway, Devil Hodges, I really he didn't do anything special today and that's okay.
You know, you don't expect anything of that.
But he was a good game manager.
15 to 20 132 yards, threw a touchdown.
He threw an interception and the interception was, you know, there's a downfield.
They're trying to get something going to kind of trying to seal the game.
Um, and James Connor, you know, can't James Connor any snow? Those guys, they really hoped, you know, get that run game go in.
But the James Connor was really bigger in the receiving game, and Devil Hodges only ran three times for eight yards.
But he had probably the best run of the game because he ran that.
He ran for eight yards, which kind of helped him get that at last.
They help get that that last first down, but it helped him get so they were for it. It's forth into.
It's like a minute buck 40 left on the clock.
Then they're able to punish and sit and put the charge.
That's two yard line.
That's eventually where Philip Rivers threw that last interception of setting.
Um, but anyway, I don't know really where the Steelers go from here, because it's one of those things worth like, bittersweet like, Hey, we're we're competitive, but we're not competitive at the same time.
Then again, our division is kind of open ran that they're granted.
The Ravens are foreign to, but at the same time, they almost lost the Steelers in overtime last week and then today.
Oh, they didn't almost loses Cincinnati Cincinnati today.
But if I'm a raven, seem that I wanted youto take a stronghold in the division.
I want to beat Cincinnati by more than seven points.
Um, so that's kind of where I'm at with that.
But the Steelers, they definitely should, you know, pick up another win next week.
They're at home against the Dolphins on their schedule.
Gets a little hard, you know, they're at home against the Colts. After that.
In the next week, they're at home against the The Rams did get a little road trip on, so they got three straight home games coming from Los Angeles come from California.
So I definitely think they get They can steal.
They can not steal one, but beat the Dolphins and then see if they can still wanna get the coats coming off that big.
Winning is the chief's, um, and the Rams.
I don't believe in the Rams anymore, but I'll talk about that in another stream.
But anyway, like I said, and if you've watched my strings before, I am a Chargers fan.
I'm a Los Angeles San Diego Chargers stand where if you want to call me.
Um and I'm disappointed.
I am so disappointed in this football team.
I told my friends today that if we lose this game that I am going to switch teams, be a Detroit lion, Tennessee tying airs on a Cardinals fan.
Because if I'm gonna root for a team, I want a root for one that at least tries.
And I don't feel like I'm not gonna be in Los Angeles.
Charges aren't trying because that would be unfair, because it's the same.
At the end of the day, we are decimated by injuries.
Right now we are missing Darwin.
James, we're missing Melvin.
Anger, We're missing.
Russell. Oh, come.
We're missing Michael.
Badge Li Like, you know, we go, we go into the game, we go down 24 to, and then when we have the opportunity to put three points on the board, what's his name? Because I don't even know this new kicker that we have right now shades McLaughlin He misses, you know, he misses one.
And you know, my friend, one of my homeboys is telling me Yo, Dre, at the end of the game, we definitely could have used that We could definitely used that that last week that that three points even though it didn't really matter, because Philip ended up throwing, You know, that pig.
But it definitely changed the time of the game, gave his whole motivation going into other plays or whatnot.
But that's neither here nor there, but were decimated by injuries. Man.
And I think we're also decimated by not only injuries, but just a lack of discipline and awareness.
Two weeks in a row, we're playing two teams that we should definitely be and the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers tonight.
And not only do we get off to a slow start, but we allow we allow the other team two.
Take our slow start.
Internet. It's a points.
Think of the begin at that.
The Steelers got 14 points and only traveled, like 30 yards offensively or something like that.
Philip Rivers look trash for the second week in a row.
Um, you know the box score is going to tell you.
He threw 26 or 44 320 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
But if you actually watch that game, a lot of those yards and a lot of production in coming to.
It was desperation time.
It's the third quarter is the fourth quarter, and you know we have no choice but to move the ball down the field and you can't play like that.
You can't You cannot play like that and hope to win football games, because now we're looking at a situation.
We could have had the Broncos Steelers and tightens back to back to back three wins.
That should have put us at what we two and four now that should have put us at five and two was more disappointed about what more disappointed in that is that, you know? Luckily, the Raiders were owned by this weekend, didn't play a game and then win a game to put us and that, you know, last in the division.
But we're now two and four and we play.
It tightens next week and after the plate sightings are scheduled, gets a little harder.
Um, you know, we then go to Soldier Field to play the Bears.
We then play the Packers.
We then go on the road to play the Raiders, which is not gonna be easy game because the Raiders actually look competent this season, and it's on the road.
We can't even win at home, and then we play the cheeks.
And then we put the Broncos again, who obviously have our number.
Jaguars, Vikings, Raiders, Chiefs.
So we're now to the point where we have lost the games that we should have won.
We should have beat the lines, which should be the Texans.
We should've beat the Broncos.
We should beat the Steelers, and it's hard to go back and play the would've could've should've game.
You know, you do this, you do that.
You know, um, it's hard to do that with the Chargers, but it seems like every single year there's a wooded to the shitter.
You know, we go down, we lose Hunter Henry, who tonight proved that he is as vital as an asset as it comes on our team, came back tonight.
100 yards, eight receptions, average, 12 and 1/2 yards to catch two touchdowns.
The reason we were we were competitive with a minute left in the game.
Defense's air, taking Keenan Allen away.
They're easily taking Alan away.
Um, he had that huge, huge game.
Was it against he had a huge game against.
I want to say that Texans, he had a huge game. It's the Texas.
But people are game planning for him now.
You know it's not our fault, man.
You know? You know, you gotta have Anthony Lane said in the in the post game press conference, you gotta have other people step up.
You gotta have other people. Step up.
Kip was his name.
Travis Benjamin is the worst receiver we have on our team.
Travis, Benjamin Benjamin drops a pass every game.
I swear to God, I swear to God he drops a pass every game.
He had one cash tonight for zero yards.
You know, we got people we were calling a people off the practice squad, man.
Jeremy Davis called.
Probably the biggest catch of the game.
That wasn't a touchdown.
Virgil's been with this, but, you know, and then, you know, just one touch on Melvin Gordon.
Real quick man, sit.
This last week, I must Mom my stream.
If I was to take two months off my job right now and just jump back in it, I guarantee you I would not be good at my job to start, and that is the benefit of the doubt that I'm given Melvin courtroom right now is that it's gonna take him some time to get fully back into game shape.
You know, said, you know, not closely and learn the play because I'm sure he knows the playbook by now to be in five years.
But we need Melvin Gordon, the Melvin Gordon that I knew last year.
That was, you know, 100% healthy, motivated, ready to go, wasn't worried about the money at the time went.
But I do want to preface that with I'm fully for getting your money.
But a Melvin Gordon that was fully focused on the game he kept us in gains.
He helped us win games.
Granted, we did go for no without him at the end of the season when he was hurt.
But we need Melvin Gordon because right now we're sacrificing the snaps that awesome actor was getting in the 1st 4 weeks of the season.
For Melvin Gordon to be that started running back.
He's just not it, and then also record comes in the game.
He does not get a good rhythm.
We're playing Ah, monstrous Steelers defense.
Devin Bush is, um, is, um, is a maniac, man, These guys are good, man.
That's still his defense is crazy.
And I think that was definitely a testament to who we are as a team and what we need to work on.
We need to work on discipline, and we've seen to work on seizing the moment.
And we can't keep doing this this bullshit that we did with the Texans and that we did with the Broncos last week. And then we did tonight.
Where we're down, we're down, we're down.
And we want to use the last three minutes of the game to try to make this Herculean come back.
Man, we can't do that.
We're not going to win games like that.
And so next week, man, I would sit here and tell you guys that, you know, we're gonna go, you know, to Tennessee and get a dub and get it easy.
Because Tennessee was all sorts of just, uh, today is Marcus Mariota based? I don't know.
He was benched for the game today.
Ryan Tannehill was, um, came in to start, but, um I don't I don't I don't know.
I don't know if it's I don't know, Marcus Mariota starts.
Maybe we'll get it.
But he was seven for 18 63 yards, two interceptions, Man.
Um, so I'm not sure if next week is gonna be an easy win, But it's a win that we we have to get if we lose because there's no way we're coming back from two and five because of that.
At that point, I think our best case scenarios and 97.
And we're not making the playoffs in the A f C 97 even though the FC is the weaker conference, in my opinion.
But we obviously have competition in possibly Denver and Oakland for that, that second place in our division.
And I think that second place in our division can compete for that wild card berth.
Um, so, you know, appreciate y'all to name and I'm definitely about to release another stream right after this.
On my Week Six reactions.
I've been a little small preview for Monday Night Football tomorrow with the Detroit Mind's playing the Green Bay Packers definite.
