Trevor Lane here.
Senior writer for the lakers nation dot com.
Joining you bright and early.
Yeah, that's right. 4:30 a.m.
Pacific time. This game's really happening.
We're going to watch the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Brooklyn Nets for a little while. There.
Didn't look like it was gonna happen.
We're gonna give this a shot.
We're gonna try this whole second screen experience back.
I'm gonna go ahead and tweet this out.
By the way, this show is 100% brought to you by up time.
I am needing it after that brutal Dodgers game last night, I really didn't sleep.
So now we're gonna cover the Lakers here and we'll talk all about it.
We'll chat as the game's going on.
Should be a fun time.
Let me tweet out the link here.
And, um, we'll get rolling here So the boulders tipped and the nets have it.
I'm gonna talk about lineups and things like that.
Here, DeAndre, Jordan jumper to start the game.
We'll take that all day, every day.
Okay, So what's going already out of the, um the game just started.
We're gonna talk a little bit about everything that's happening here.
I'm gonna be keeping an eye on it here as we're chatting.
Hopefully you guys were hopping in and joining me.
As I said today, we're sponsored by up time energy drinks, much, much needed, given the fact that this game is at 4 30 in the morning.
Uh, Pacific time.
So I'm tired. I'm Charlotta.
Unless you're watching this from somewhere else.
Like some of our friends in England are watching this or in Europe are watching this and are enjoying this start time.
Me? It's a little bit rough out.
They can tell you that.
But the Lakers started with a lineup of Rondo KCP.
Then you've got LeBron e. D.
And Dwight Howard so replacing some of the starters from their last time around.
That's, um that was something that I already saw.
The reaction on Twitter was not too too pleased about, and I understand why.
Look, a lot of Lakers fans are big fans of Kyrie Irving, who's actually he was injured.
I believe he had a fractured bone or something in his face.
It looks like he's already out.
He took a shot to the face, and they that's immediately pulled him.
That's not what you want to see.
I was really hoping that Avery Bradley would start this game so that he could defend Kyrie.
But that's not what's going on here.
Instead, it Frank Vogel tryto decided, makes up the line up.
Now I want to stress this doesn't mean that this is going to be the lineup for the Lakers to start the season, or that this is even in consideration to be the starting five.
This is the time for coaches to experiment.
This is the time for coaches to take a look at everything that's going on right now and just get a feel for what works and what doesn't.
I don't expect based on what we've seen so far, Dwight Howard.
To be the starter I would imagine is probably gonna be JaVale McGee.
I don't expect Rondo to be this starter, but I guess never say never.
It's all it's always possible.
But I don't really like the Rondo LeBron pairing.
I like them split up, so we'll see how that plays out.
I don't see KCP who's getting paid $8 million starting over.
Dana Greene, who's getting paid 15 million and has been a more efficient player infected.
If you look at real plus minus stats, Danny Green has been one of the best shooting guards in the league over the last 56 seasons.
You consistently number one or number two? There was one season where he was 21st in the league of the shooting guard spot.
That was two seasons ago with the San Antonio Spurs when his three point percentage drop so something keep an eye on.
But I don't suspect that he will be out of the starting lineup again.
This is Frank Vogel's chance to tinker, because why not? These games don't count for anything.
So why not get a feel for who can really play well alongside that duo? Who knows? Maybe KCP really clicks with both LeBron and a D, and then you know that moving forward doesn't mean you have to start him.
But maybe it means that later on in games you need a bucket.
You can go to that combo.
You know that's gonna work.
So this is a fact finding mission here right now for the Lakers and for Frank Vogel.
Um by the way again.
Super early is why Didn't even bother.
Like fixing up my hair.
Just throw on a hat.
So forgive me for that one, guys, Uh, at cute areas.
Said Rondo better not start.
Look, I get it. I'm with you.
No, not start to.
I don't think the combo between with Rondo LeBron works very well.
I think this Lakers team is going to need defense.
They're gonna need to force turnovers.
And what that that requires is not have you run tow out there? He was one of the worst defensive guards in the league last season in the entire league.
One of the words Quinn Cook, by the way, was down there with him.
Terms of the points per possession given up right there with runners.
So that's, you know, a little bit of a concern.
But Rondo not a good defender.
I think the starters are going to really need to play good defense.
Anthony Davis has locked in on defense.
He's focused on doing those things, so it's gonna be interesting to see how that plays out.
I liked Avery Bradley in there.
I'm really hoping here that Kyrie Irving comes back.
We saw the Nets pull him early.
He got bumped in the face.
We know he had an injury there, so hopefully he does come back because I want to see Avery Bradley on Kyrie Irving.
Just like we saw Avery Bradley on Steph Curry.
I want to find out.
Is that for real? Can Avery Bradley really check the top point guards in the league? Because if he can, then the Lakers have something.
You've got something great there, right? I love that defensive combo of Avery Bradley and Danny Green that we saw last game.
Anthony Davis and JaVale McGee together those air two trees inside.
Shooting over those arms at the rim is not easy.
Danny Green and Avery Bradley together two of the better perimeter defenders out there on the floor on the broad, could do a little bit everything.
Defendants I can defend outside when motivated.
So that's another thing that that I like.
You're forcing teams into those mid range shots by having this solid perimeter defenders and the really good defenders at the rim in javelin a D.
So I think that forcing teams and mid range shots is important in today's MBA.
And so because of that, I like that combo.
If Avery Bradley and Danny Green thought that worked great, somebody on the lake, they cut away from it.
Somebody on the Lakers just had a three.
It looks like scores 5 to 2 right now.
If you're following along, you could see that out here on the screen.
Um so looks like you've got 80 rotated out there.
I liked what I saw there.
So 80 getting all the way out to the three point line and contesting the shot Dwight Howard there at the rim to make this stop.
By the way, one of the great things about sportscaster and why I'm doing this on this platform and not say Facebook live which I will be doing some live podcasts and things like that on there.
I'm working on be able to blast us out to all different channels.
But the reason why I'm doing this on sportscaster is because there is very, very little lag time on here.
So what? I'm seeing live as I've discussing it on here.
It's only a second or two behind what's going on with you guys, or at least it should be.
So hopefully that's gonna create a little bit more real time analysis.
Rondeau for three, and he knocked it down.
Look, that's what Rondo needs to do.
If Rondo can make that shot, he becomes much more valuable now again, the defense is still an issue.
But if Rondo can consistently knock down the three, which is what Frank Vogel has been saying he's been doing in training camp.
He's been hitting threes, and he compared him to Jason Kidd towards the end of his career, where he became basically solely a three point shooter.
If Rondo could do that, then the Lakers have maybe something at least somewhat usable in Rondonia.
LeBron bad turn over there.
Looks like he stayed down on the ground.
Hopefully, he's okay.
Obviously, scores eat, too.
Right now, the Lakers are up.
Gannon guys as a Zay said to start the show today, responsibly up time, energy drinks because that's how I'm getting through this 4 30 start time.
It's a tough turn over there for for LeBron.
Looks like he's okay, but the Nets got going in transition, so we got two free throws coming up here again, back to Rondo.
Really, really important that Rondo can knock down that shot.
At least that gives him a path towards being somewhat valuable out there.
So LeBron against Joe Harris.
So Spencer didn't when you came in, made a nice play and poked the ball way.
Looked like LeBron did take a little bit of a shot there, too, to the jaw, but it's gonna take a lot more than that.
Stop LeBron uh, at Jacob Hippo, 13.
Said they should play Caruso more.
Hey, Captain America, I agree.
I'm right there with you.
They should play Alex Caruso more.
I'd like to see him get some minutes here.
Hopefully, he's going to get them today.
Didn't want just with a tough, tough fall away shot.
He is a really, really good player.
This is a guy who's made a name for himself at this point.
He's gonna be a tough one toe to defend, and that's where again.
Maybe you could see an Avery Bradley out there.
LeBron having some trouble finding the handle on the ball.
Almost another turnover right now.
You look at what the Lakers are doing right now.
They're just in a scramble and it leads to a Rondo.
Three doesn't make it, but Dwight Howard battling on the inside, it looks like he gets fouled.
That's what I like about Dwight.
He doesn't have the springs anymore, at least not right now.
But he's doing a nice job boxing out.
He's using his body, and I think that's something that he wasn't doing.
Last time we used with the Lakers.
He relied on his athleticism to make up for bad habits.
Where is now? He's having to do all the little things the right way.
And so I like we've seen so far from Dwight.
That last play spread the floor and turns into a Rondo step back.
Not a big fan of that would like to see the Lakers work a little bit better in scramble situations.
But again, that's what you know preseason ball is for.
Looked like the Lakers were trying to get into the post there to Anthony Davis, which, uh, yeah, probably not a bad place to go, Taurean Prince trying to defend it every day.
But that's not gonna work.
I'm not going to happen at que teary is that I have a question.
If all the others and I get we're experienced, wouldn't wouldn't it make sense to give real lineups more time together? Build that chemistry? So, yeah, I mean, the question here is shouldn't you be putting the guys that you think are the starters out there on the floor and give them time to build chemistry? We may see that.
See that? Let's say Frank Vogel's already inside today.
Avery Bradley's a starter.
We may see that in the second quarter, but right now you want to keep every guy in it.
You want to keep them locked in and not feel like OK, the decision's already made on who's starting.
You want to keep them pushing and keep them working.
And so that's why you do this also, because, you know, injuries happen sometimes during the season.
At some point, somebody's gonna be hurt.
Somebody is going to be somebody's gonna need to step up and fill in.
Let's say JaVale McGee needs a night off.
Let's say he tweaks an ankle or something like that, and then Dwight steps in.
You want him to have that experience working with the starters Nice.
Three Victorian prints there from the corner.
So the Lakers, now of 98 Editori imprints from the quarter.
That's one of things the Lakers defense is gonna have to work on is being able to rotate out there.
You see, Anthony Davis dropped into the paint and then got screened by DeAndre Jordan, which was a nice play by him.
He's, Ah, veteran player.
I still like Jared Allen late a lot for the Brooklyn Nets, and I think that he could wind up taking over that starting role.
But that's the kind of thing that you get by having a veteran out there on the floor setting that screen there.
A lot of players wouldn't stop that.
Think about doing that.
But he set the screen and prevented 80 from getting out in contesting the Taurean Prince three.
So again, smart play there. Bye.
Ah, by DeAndre Jordan Anthony Davis at the line and they keep having a Fallon because he's too big.
And for the most part, the Nets have gone small.
They've got Taurean Prince at the four, so by going small like this, Anthony Davis is able to feast.
But the flip side is you can see what's going on right now.
Story imprints getting to the rim because he's able to get past a D. Who's bigger.
Joe hairs from three.
Well, actually led the league last season in field goal percentage.
Joe Harris did, and second was the Lakers own Danny Green.
The clothes out.
Pull up 20 footer. Money.
That's something KCP can do.
He can put the ball on the floor, attack it close out and then pull up from the Jumper.
Not quite as good.
Attacking the rim off that situation, but something to watch for Joe Harris cuts to the basket.
Dwight blocked it, but unfortunately, the gold 10 there.
That's something to make Frank Frank Vogel a little bit unhappy seeing the defense break down like that.
But again, I don't think this is the Lakersbest defense of Group.
I think you bring in Danny Green.
You bring in JaVale McGee, Avery Bradley.
I think that's gonna give you the best defense of possibility.
Oh, my goodness.
That Anthony Davis passed to Rondo down low, smart by Rondo of sneaking along the baseline and Anthony Davis just a brilliant past.
That's something that we didn't get see too much of last game out of a D is his passing ability. Spencer.
Didn't he knocks down another three eighties passing ability is incredible.
He really is a phenomenal player in all aspects of the game.
And so I'm I'm excited to see what he can do out of the high post as a passer.
Just checking on Twitter here to see if there's any any updates for an Ellen sleepwear from ESPN.
It says he prefers the Game one starters versus the ones they're using this morning. Absolutely.
You guys with me on that, I'm assuming it seems pretty widespread among Lakers fans.
I liked the starters we saw against the Warriors a lot more than this group, okay, on paper and based on what we've seen so far, and the difference so far that the biggest thing is the defensive end.
And I think that's why this group isn't gonna actually end up being the starters, because the defense of potential for the previous group with Avery Bradley with any green with JaVale McGee is just much, much higher.
I think that's gonna be a more successful defensive unit, and right now is the Lakers trying to build chemistry.
It's going to take some time.
They're going to need to get stops.
They're going to need to get out in transition.
Okay, Satori imprints again, going right at Anthony Davis, trying to take advantage of the speed.
And he was able to hit a tough fall away there.
But Edie had a nice contest.
That's gonna be really big teams.
They're going to try to go small against a D and they're gonna try to take advantage of speed.
And if you can keep that hand up, that's Ah, that's gonna be a big plus.
There you go again.
Like I was saying, Dwight Howard doing the little things right.
Boxing out. He boxed out on that play.
Their 80 missed the shot.
Dwight was right there for the putback.
Finish great stuff from him. Very, very smart.
Um, he was ready for it.
Ready for that, miss.
And a lot of that, too, was the attention drawn by 80 DeAndre.
Jordan had to make sure he was coming over and help position and that allowed that allowed Dwight Howard to get inside position on some smaller guys and take advantage at Jacob Hippos 13 said its crews were coming off the bench.
So called Koosman is still hurt right now, and he's going to get another scan when he comes back from China here.
So I've got one more game against the Nets in China.
Then Cousin is gonna be getting another scan, and then we should have an update.
Yeah, that's that's an open three there, Anthony Davis rotated out.
But right now, the Nets are getting a lot of open looks.
And that's something that, um, again, Frank Vogel is not gonna be too happy about.
This is a defense first coach.
And again, this is the reason why I'm not super excited about this starting five.
The defense is going to suffer a little bit when you've got Rondo out there.
When you got KCP, who can be OK in some situations, But as a team defender, I don't necessarily love him in that role.
And Dwight can do just fine, but I think travel makes up more ground.
You hate seeing a D like flailing like that.
And in those tough spots, you just got fouled These on the line.
Now you hate seeing him and spots like that where he's landing awkwardly.
We've seen this happen a few times now.
I'm holding my breath every time Stuff like that happens, because it's a little scary as a Lakers fan to see these guys because we know how important health is at this point.
It's just super super important that these guys stay healthy.
Last season was a mess.
It was a nightmare of injuries.
And we don't want to go through all of that all over again.
The same players on the floor still flying Frank Vogel, really, given this group plenty of time out there, but again didn't want it getting into the paint.
Davis rotating out.
I like the way he's staying in front of believe that terrorist there.
And man, that was nice.
Defense by 80 on the perimeter. There.
KCP firing for three? Nope.
Get that to go. That was under duress.
That that felt like a Hey, I haven't shot the ball in a while, so I'm gonna chuck this one up as soon as I get a possession from from KCP.
Not what you want to see.
Not good team basketball there would rather see him move the ball.
So Dwight Howard got called for a bad screen there.
I'm okay with that.
We saw Tyson Chandler get get called for bad screens all the time.
If you're going to get away with some of them, you'll take it.
You'll get called every once in a while, but for the most part, they're gonna let a lot of those go, especially as the season goes on.
Yeah, it he just made a really nice spin it, but then missed at the rim.
He just seems a little bit off today with the shot, which again, that's gonna happen.
Part of this could be to these guys have been dealing with a lot.
We've been talking about the whole situation going on with China.
Um, whether or not this game was even gonna occur and all of that, the players have been feeling that stress, too.
I mean, this is something that that they haven't been appreciative.
They don't like not knowing whether or not they're going to play.
They don't like the fact that they had to travel that far, and then they're put into a potentially really difficult situation.
They're not even gonna be speaking to the media think part of that is just out of fear that somebody will say the wrong thing and create a bigger firestorm.
So that's, um, it's not surprising to see some guys that are a little bit off, right? They you've got the travel, you've got jet lag.
All that looks like some substitutions to come in. And I see JaVale McGee.
I see Avery Bradley.
Could we be looking at last game starters now? It depends on if LeBron and 80 year staying on as well.
Let's see what subs the Lakers are making here up taking a time out.
But I did see JaVale did see Avery brother coming on, so that's an awesome thing.
I think I'm excited to see what those guys could do, how they can change up the defense.
Hopefully, we'll see some Danny Green out there as well.
By the way, I was everybody doing.
I hope you guys are hanging in there.
It is your Pacific time.
Right now it's 5 a.
and we're up watching Lakers basketball.
So a credit to you, if you guys are here right now, you're a diehard Laker fan.
That's that's just the way it is, um, that's impressive.
And Ah, yeah, thank you guys for being here.
Grab some of time energy drinks again.
That's what's getting me through this show right now, so we'll run commercial.
I was concerned, so I set my alarm to get up.
I was gonna set my alarm for about 4 a.
so I could get up, get ready, you know, all that kind of stuff.
And ah, and I was worried that Oh, you gosh, I'm gonna sleep through my alarm or something.
I'm gonna miss it.
And that was the thought that was in my head when I laid down, finally tried to go to sleep, wasn't working.
I was so concerned about having to get up early that I could not say couldn't shut my brain off.
I was thinking about all the different things that I want to talk about with this game, Um was thinking about what had just gone on with the Dodgers.
That was absolutely crushing, seeing the Dodgers lose like that in Game five.
Brutal, brutal stuff and just couldn't shut my brain off.
So I've just been up all night and yeah, thank goodness for up time energy drink, because I I am one of those people that I need my sleep.
I usually need a least five and 1/2 6 hours of sleep, which isn't Aton, but I've got a three year old, so that keeps me up, Um, up early and everything, but yeah, I'm definitely needing my up time energy drink today, So I'm very thankful today that they are one of our sponsors.
They are a lifesaver at this moment.
So one of the things that I'd also like to see under I'd like to see Frank Vogel try.
Anyway, is Caruso at the two? And I'd like to see Quinn cook alongside him.
I guess you could make them interchangeable with one of the two.
We heard. Quinn Cook is gonna play.
That is, I believe it was a calf strain is okay.
Tested up before the game. And he's good to go.
Troy Daniels, unfortunately, not gonna play.
And he shot the ball real well.
There last outing against the Warriors.
But Quinn Cook is gonna play.
I'm excited because Quinn Koken do like the defense like I said is not good at all.
But on the offensive end, He's not just a shooter like he's a very 40% from three for his career.
This is a guy who can not getting shots like crazy, but he can also operate out of the pick and roll.
So I'm excited to see what that can provide, what kind of options that can create.
He's really good at coming off screens and then pulling up for a jumper, not as good driving to the rim and then trying to finish.
But I'm curious to see what that's gonna look like with with Quinn Cook.
And then you put him alongside a bigger guard like an Alex Caruso, because Quinn Cook's on the smaller side.
I'm interested to see what that looks like.
Okay, so we've got to bail out there.
Looks like the Nets have gone Jared Allen again.
A guy I like a lot.
Rondo is still on the floor, but even Bradley's in there as well.
So Avery Bradley at the to know Danny Green.
So it's the starters fromthe last gamed with JaVale.
But Rondo out there in place of Danny Greene and Rondo, just missed a 20 footer.
Not the shot that you want to see especially coming out of a time out.
It was open, but Rhonda was open for a reason.
Teams were going to leave him open, and then the Nets get a wide open three on the other end on a on a miss rotation there by the Lakers.
So again, not great up.
Looks like Danny Green is checking in.
LeBron just lines up with three and finally says, All right, enough of this.
Enough messing around enough for on no long jumpers and let me just drained a three.
Keep the score closer.
It's 25 24. Brooklyn right now.
Lob for Jared Island.
But travails right there to get the rebound, I hope.
And I would assume at this point that Danny Green is coming in for Rondo.
I think he needs to be pulled off.
Jared Allen gets Avery Bradley of the floor and looks on the on the drive, blocked the shot and looks like Avery Bradley's down holding his ankle.
Yep, looks like he just landed on Jared Allen's foot, But he's up right now. It seems to be okay.
Bullet Dodge, Guys, I'm telling you, I am holding my breath.
Every single time we see a Lakers player get any kind of bump because of I'm scarred from last season.
I am, after all the injuries that we saw.
Okay, this is Ah, Danny Green came in for LeBron.
Rondo is still on the floor.
80 just absolutely snuffed a a lob attempt.
Danny Green fires up the three.
He almost got the bounce, but eighties and they're fighting for the rebound and goes crashing out of bounds.
Gosh, guys, Anthony Davis.
I love the way you play, but stay healthy, man.
He got fouled, But I don't want to see 80 taking those those bumps at null said.
We're doing postgame Facebook lives this season.
Yes. So that is going to be coming.
Um, in fact, I've got a I'm doing a conference call this afternoon to work a little bit on not just sending to Facebook, but to send to sportscaster to send to periscope, send a YouTube, and so we'll go live across a lot of different channels.
Last season was kind of the the proving ground for us.
Where Jackson, I did those postgame shows.
We use Facebook live.
That was great. I love Facebook.
Facebook alive worked out really well, and we're going to do that again this season.
But what I want to focus on is sending up to multiple places so that we're not just hitting Facebook users.
But we're getting people on YouTube.
We're getting people in Paris go places like that.
So that is the plan that will be happening.
And, yeah, Like I said, I've got a call set up later today to actually work on on that and get prepared.
Avery Bradley gets baited into a foul there.
You're gonna pick up fouls like that with Avery Bradley.
He can be overly aggressive.
Extremely smart, crafty.
He's able to draw.
Contact that, and Bradley is it.
It's the nature of the beast.
It's what's gonna happen when when you're an aggressive defender like Avery, Bradley is so again, kind of like Dwight picking up that that illegal screen foul.
You're okay with that because you get the good part of it to you.
Get a good, solid, aggressive defender and against Spencer, didn't we not an easy guy to defend? He's going to get you every now and then, and Avery Bradley is not happy about it.
Which, hey, look, every player in the N b.
Feels like they've never actually committed a foul.
So not a surprise there.
But Avery Bradley doesn't agree.
Doesn't think it's a foul So far right now, Rondo and Anthony Davis have played the entire game where it just under just over three minutes remaining.
And those guys have been on the floor of the entire time.
I don't know what just got called there.
But something happened where the Lakers actually turned the ball over.
Looks like maybe another bad screen, something like that.
Look, things are going to be disjointed for a little while.
By the way, this is This is preseason, I think.
Based on what we saw out of the Warriors, this Nets team looks a little more fired up and ready to play.
They they're they're just launching shots right now.
That was a bad miss, but they're launching shots.
They're getting open lochs.
These guys look ready to go and look credit to Kenny Atkinson.
He's a solid coach and clearly this group is ready to come out firing.
A lot of these guys. They're sticking around from last season.
So they've got that chemistry already built in Victorian Prince slides in very, very nicely for them at the small forward.
So I think that was a natural fit for them to come in there.
Um, okay, So good Lakers defense there, they will at least force them into a bad pass.
So you gotta like that and it's escaping me.
Who then? The Nets? Small forward was I can picture him, but I can't think of his name because it's 5 a.
And that's where my where my brains out. Right now.
They're small forward from last season.
He's with the Spurs now.
It'll come to me.
Danny Green. Okay, so that was a nice play there.
Danny Green, Baseline cut.
Had a couple of screens to get himself open behind the three point line, but rather than fire up the three, he pump faked and then attacked that closed out and then hit a nice slow pull up 20 footer.
I think if he had just a little bit more space, I'd like to see him go and take that three because that short corner three should be a pretty easy shot form, but But in that situation, I think you did the right thing.
Made the right call.
Still same group on the floor here for the Lakers, just about two minutes left in the first.
Another call on Avery Bradley.
Hey, it's preseason for the referees to another call.
This one's for Avery Bradley the ruptured calling everything really tight right now and again.
That could be them.
Just trying to hammer home.
Hey, we're going to emphasize freedom of movement here.
UM, that's that could be part of the issue, But we're seeing a Tana calls here early in this game at Noel, asking any news on when crews will come back.
I mentioned this earlier, but we're waiting for the scans there.
He's going to get another scan once they get back from China, and then we'll probably hear more.
I'm hoping you'll be back for the regular season, but that's certainly in doubt at this point because not only does he got to get back, but it's a foot injury.
So if he gets to the rim, can't finish.
But JaVale McGee is there to clean it up.
So it's something where, as a foot injury, he can't run on it or anything like that.
So it's going to take time for him to get back into shape.
He's got to get back into cardio shape to be out there running.
So Rondo with the lob to a D and it looks like a D stepped on somebody's foot.
Goodness gracious against scary stuff.
Hopefully, he didn't tweak his ankle there, and he looks to be okay.
But, man, you hate CM plays like that.
Especially in in pre season.
As I was saying, it's going to take time for Congressman a Captain America.
Alex Caruso checking in for Rondo.
Finally, Rondo's out of their Caruso's in.
Let's see what this group could do defensively.
We'll take Koosman time to get back up to speed so he may not be ready to go by opening night.
So that's what you see.
JaVale do a lot we just saw right there.
Javale allowed the the driver to get all the way to the rim, but he relies on his ability to block shots to stop him from actually scoring.
So rather than play good contained defense on the perimeter, he kind of invites the guy into the paint because he knows he could block the shot.
It's a little bit of a bad habit, but McGee tends to get away from it.
Get away with it.
Ah, nice give and go there by Caruso and McGee. Great.
Two man game passing but the whistle javale for a travel look pretty close to me and have to see the replay to know for sure whether or not he traveled.
Ah. Yep. Yeah, he did. He shuffled two feet.
Your feet probably didn't feel like it for him, but ah, but he did wide open three.
And the Nets are getting a lot of open looks right now.
Pretty scrappy JaVale hitting the floor for the ball.
Hey, look, this this Nets team came out to play.
They're generating a lot of open looks, and, uh, yeah, that's certainly a concern for the Lakers.
How many open threes they're giving up? Even though the Lakers are up 31 27 right now that this is something that you don't want to see.
You don't want to see this many open looks being given up because at some point, the Nets are going to start knocking even more of these down.
They are good three point shooting team.
I think that something's gonna continue.
Our old friend David Wahba is out there for the Nets as well.
Remember him from Is his one season with the Lakers was sad that he, uh, he had to go.
They ended up cutting him loose in order to free up some cap space.
Fact, I believe that that was 22 signed continues couple Pope to an $18 million deal a couple seasons ago.
Okay, there's where it didn't pay off for JaVale.
He invited the driver in to the rim and then went for the block and didn't get it.
And the guy scored.
That's the downside of Devil playing that type of contained defense, But again, he's playing to his strengths.
He's good blocking shots at the rim.
A nice pass there that was a fantastic passed by Caruso, great, sealed by a d, getting himself to the basket.
That's how it's a part of a player.
I'm telling you guys A D is the kind of guy that is smart and he's able to make plays like that.
He's also a freak athlete, so he's able to do things that other players just frankly can't pull off there.
So 28 seconds left.
We'll see what Frank Vogel can draw up here in end of game situations.
Oh, my true Del reporting.
Kyrie Irving has been ruled out for the game.
Look, not a surprise.
If I was the Nets, I'd be doing the same thing I would be Bubble wrapping. Kyrie.
Any little thing goes wrong.
I'm pulling him out of the game.
Preseason doesn't matter, but I am disappointed because again, I wanted to see Avery Bradley tried to handle Kyrie.
I thought that would have been a really fun matchup to check out.
So we got a high screen role with Caruso and a D.
Caruso falls down 80 tries to say that that was not pretty.
80 tries to take a block, but ends up being a it tries to take.
Did you get it? Looks like they gave him the call. Wow.
Got the charge call.
I didn't think he was set.
He he just barely turned.
Look, if I was the Nets fan I'd probably be a little bit upset him on that one, but if you're gonna be upset on any call, it's usually a block charge.
So Crusoe slipped on that play.
Let's see if they can do it again.
They'll run the same thing.
High screen rule, any slips.
What is going on? So Caruso, they run the same play twice in a row, and both times Crusoe drives left and slips and falls down.
I'm not sure what that's all about.
Maybe there's a spot on the floor right there that needs to be looked at.
Maybe Caruso is wearing Alonzo's.
Maybe that's what's going on.
Maybe he's wearing the big baller brand shoes.
A little bit of a concern there, though.
Caruso falling down again.
I'll say it again, up time.
Energy drink, powering me.
Getting me through this.
People are already tweeting about Caruso shoes.
All right, so now between quarters would be interesting to see what Frank Vogel comes out with.
Kind of hoping he pulls Anthony Davis, who played the entire first quarter.
It's time to rest him. Time to get him out.
We'll see again.
I want to see limited minutes for these guys.
I want to see the Lakers not deal with injuries.
That was one of my big three, uh, goals for this game.
What? I wanted to see what I wanted everyone to watch was three things was health.
Can they come out of this healthy and then the rotations.
Which rotations is Frank Vogel going to use? And we saw here he started Ron, no Knee started KCP and Dwight Howard.
And then lastly, the defense is the defense of intensity.
Gonna be there, The intensity, it's kind of there.
But the rotations on the defensive end haven't been great.
So that's something to take a look at.
By the way, guys, I am probably just going to do the first, uh, the first half here and then, uh, and then we'll call it a day, depending on how long this goes.
So I'll probably just do this.
This live stream of the first half this is kind of the test round is the first time I've done this while the game is actually on again.
This is the cool part about sportscaster is that it allows us to do this because there's only a second or two delay Facebook live.
Some of you guys have asked about this.
So Facebook live when we go and we do our live show there.
When I'm talking, you guys aren't getting that for about 30 seconds to a minute.
There's that long of a delay on it, So that's the downside.
The upside, obviously, his Lakers nation is huge on face, but we've got over three million followers, so we get a lot of exposure there.
But again, it wouldn't work in a live game situation like this because we'd be so far.
But by the time it got to you, the game would be so far past what I was talking about.
Whereas on this from watching her on my screen, it's literally about a two second delay.
So that's not bad at all.
That that works.
And hopefully the video quality is looking okay for you guys as well.
Um, I do see some dropped frames that have been popping up here and there.
So LeBron back in 80 out.
Caruso running the point.
You've got to bail out there with them.
Danny Green, That's there It is.
That backdoor cut by Avery Bradley.
That was a great design play, but that's the part of Avery Bradley's game that I'm excited about, not just the defensive side, but he's a really smart cutter.
He's kind of like Alex Caruso in that regard.
He's really good at cutting to the basket and taking advantage of defense is losing sight of him.
Don't agree with the pull up.
Two, knocks it in like that coming out of the corner again.
Got chased off the three point line but was able to still make the Nets paid by hitting the mid range.
I'm excited to see a guy like Avery Bradley out there with LeBron because LeBron loves finding guys on backdoor cuts.
Kyle Kuzma knock down a ton of shots last season because he was cutting to the basket and LeBron found him.
Caruso did the same thing.
So you've got some really good cutters here on the floor alongside LeBron bad.
Turn over there by dating.
Green jumped to make his past, which is a huge no, no, never want to do that.
Jamail biggie. Defending at the rib.
You know what? The Lakers between Dwight Howard and Javale McGee.
If you combine them into one center.
The Lakers have a pretty good center on the floor at all times.
A guy who could defend, rebound, do all those sorts of things.
So get Alex Caruso hand in hand on the point, Okay? I mean, the slipping thing was an issue.
Danny Green pulling up.
That's where I'd like to see Danny Green take the three and not the two.
I don't want to see Dana Greene pulling up with his foot on the line.
Let's not do that.
Hey, if you're gonna take that shot, take the three at least.
So here's the difference.
Oh, javale at the rim.
But there's the difference right there of having a D on the floor versus not you've got.
Javal was attacking the attacking the shooter and affecting the shot.
But on the cleanup, there was nobody else there to grab the rebound.
When a D is out there, which avail Whoever attacks the shot, the other person is getting the getting the board right now.
The Lakers are kind of small.
LeBron thought he got fouled there on that Dr Caruso.
Nice job getting so That's something that that that's kind of give and take.
If you pull a D off the floor and you don't have the kind of Twin Towers esque lineup out there, then you give up some rebounding.
Okay, that's just that's Ah, that's what happens.
Pretty sloppy play right now, But again, it's preseason.
Avery Bradley commits another foul.
Think that's two on him.
Moose is looking really good out there for the Brooklyn Nets.
He's done some good things.
Avery Bradley's frustrated, but again, the rest are calling this really tight there.
Collinson ticky tack fouls out there.
So if you're an aggressive physical defender like Avery Bradley, it could be a frustrating game.
Moussa comes off the screen, gets a good look there, but I like the contest by Avery Bradley.
We got LeBron run to the point high screen and roll with JaVale LeBron not looking like he's in mid season form Right now, he's knocked into three.
Done a couple of nice things.
I'm guessing if I looked at his stats, he's probably doing doing just fine, but missing some fairly easy looks right now, missed one of the room a few minutes ago and then missed the wool jumper.
LeBron comes flying to the room gets himself Val.
It gets to the free throw line.
Think he probably knows he's not.
He's not doing to invite.
He's barking at the referee a little bit.
Felt like he was getting fouled earlier.
Yeah, clear foul.
So LeBron online last season shot 67% from the free throw line, The worst of his career knocks in.
The 1st 1 gonna be important that he starts it.
I want to see him at least above 70%.
LeBron's a descend of free.
I'm not expecting to get, like 75% or 77% or anything like that.
But get above 70.
LeBron gonna be very important for the Lakers this season.
Then they knocked down the free throws right on cue.
Knocks them both down.
Good sign there, Alex. Gruesome.
Avery Bradley comes over to double real quick and then still gets back to his man.
Almost created Turnover.
Gosh, Avery Bradley is a pest out there.
I would love if ultimately Avery Bradley becomes like the Lakers version of Patrick Beverley, at least on the defensive end.
Offensively, they're a little bit different, but I think that's within the Rome of possible outcomes here, where Bradley could become that type of defender for the Laker.
To be really excited to see that, because that's certainly something they could use.
They're still running the point, Captain America gotta like that.
There's that Kat I was talking about.
But a bad past there by Danny Green is second.
Bad turnover of the game.
Caruso dives into the passing lane.
Man, if the Lakers are one play away from really putting things together and blowing this thing out, you get out there, There, right there, like Danny Green turns the ball over after a really nice past.
If he had just wrapped it around a little more details.
They're so close there, right on the cusp of reeling off a few quick baskets and getting a few solid defensive stops.
It's just inches away from from occurring.
LeBron knocks in the fade away jumper off one leg will take that.
Maybe not the look that you ideally want, but when it's LeBron, you know he can hit it.
Okay, everybody again playing that aggressive defense out of the perimeter.
But Moose is pretty smart coming off the screen he throws himself in and Bradley picks up yet another foul.
Pull up the stats here and seeing how many fouls Avery Bradley's got right now.
LeBron toe on the line on that shot, man.
Almost a three travail.
Where you going? So I know everybody has three fouls, So something to watch Is he committing to me fouls by being overly aggressive.
If you can't stay on the floor, that might be an issue.
But again, the refs are calling this pretty tight.
That was that was almost shocked in a level Javale McGee Shack than a fool.
I was kind of the whirling dervish there.
He looked a little out of control.
I don't think you want Javale McGee leading your fast break with the ball in his hands.
Finishing it, Sure, but leading it not so much.
So we got a jump ball and it looks like a tap that Danny Green might give up open.
Look up, they goto LeBron LeBron finds Danny Green gets the mismatch from Jared Allen, a Danny Green misses and step back. Three.
He can hit those.
So no problem with them taking that Moussa is really going right at Avery.
Bradley knows he's got the three fouls Bradley attacks.
The basket can't finish.
Look, Avery Bradley is a 67 wingspan, and that helps him be a good defender.
But he's only 62 Moose and knocks in a shot from three again.
Frank Vogel Timeout.
Not too thrilled with that defense there, but Bradley can struggle a little bit to finish at the rim.
So something to keep an eye on.
I think he's gonna have to show off his three point shooting a little bit.
Maur get something like that out of him rather than attacking the rim all the time that that case Jared Allen was their big enough long enough to really affect the shot the Lakers only up to Nets are hanging around.
And the reason why they're able to hang around These little mistakes by the Lakers are adding up to a lot.
It's adding up two points for the Nets, outing up two missed opportunities.
Um, things were just a little bit out of sync and again, that's traveling right.
I mean the flight all the way to China dealing with all these other issues.
There's lots of distractions right now.
But overall, this Lakers team is giving up a lot more open looks than we saw against the Golden State Warriors.
And part of that is the Nets are being a little bit more disciplined team than the Warriors were, which might be a little bit of a surprise.
But they are, But it's also the Lakers have just been a little bit off on their defensive rotation.
So something to keep keep an eye on here as we move forward.
Just checking in on their our stats here.
Uh, right now, uh, Anthony Davis, 10 points.
LeBron leading the way with 14 4 before from the free throw line.
You'll take that out of him for sure.
Uh, Anthony Davis, eight of nine from the free throw line.
Yeah, he shot nine free throws.
Guess why they tried to go small on them.
They were defending Victorian Prince.
That's easy points for Anthony Davis.
He's not gonna be able to defend him.
So, uh, that's something to watch teams.
We're gonna try to go small, but they're gonna pay for in terms of fouls given up.
I also like the 80 has three assists.
We did see him pass the ball a bit more.
That's an underrated side of it of his game and something that you definitely can do.
Uh, in terms of turnovers.
Few battlements of Danny Greene.
He's got two right now.
Three fouls, one of three shooting, one steal.
But again, I like that.
The aggressiveness on the defensive end.
Dwight Howard has three boards.
We'll have more.
You have five boards from LeBron four boards from jail, two blocks for JAVALE McGee as well.
So protecting the room.
That's what you got to do.
If you're a Lakers big this season, you gotta make sure they're protecting the rib.
KCP seven minutes.
One of 22 points.
That's it. Two personal fouls.
Nothing else on there.
Cal Koosman Not playing today.
Troy Daniels Not playing Jared Dudley Not playing.
So as far as who were watching to see.
Come in. Quinn. Cook.
Cook is probably next guy that I'm looking to see.
Come on the floor and hopefully you can do something.
They're tailing Horton Tucker isn't gonna play.
They're still dealing with that that stress reaction again.
Thank you all for joining me this morning.
Well, we're back to action.
It's like same group on the floor except Dwight.
Howard has replaced JaVale McGee, Dwight getting into screen role.
I like that Dwight's getting contact with the screens this time around.
Last time he was the Laker, he was brushing screens a lot, not getting good contact there.
He gets into screen role, creates an open jumper for for LeBron, and he buries it again.
Dwight's doing a much better job, doing the little things that he didn't use to do so well that he used to not really focus on.
So I like seeing that Mussa again got a little runner in the paint. This guy is.
This guy's a player.
He's He's just playing smart, finding open space by just being smart.
Danny Green with the pull up 15 footer.
Nope, it was an open shot that we had it. Oh, my gosh.
LeBron tries. The law.
Tried to turn a shot into a lob for Dwight Howard.
Battles at the rim doesn't finish the lob because it wasn't prepared for it without the brothers shooting.
If LeBron was shooting from Japan, basically, and then he tried to zip the pass in to Dwight for a lob.
Why it wasn't really ready for it.
But he does get himself a trip to the line.
Dwight's one of those guys that we've heard for so long that he's a great free throw shooter in practice.
There's a famous picture from back during Dwight's first stint with the Lakers, where they charted everyone's free throw, shooting and practice, and he was shooting 80% from the line on.
Then in game situations, it falls apart.
So a lot of what Dwight's issues are the line are are mental rather than physical, as I say that he knocks down his first free throw.
But been an issue with Dwight Howard is the mental side of free throw shooting, which I mean, that's the majority of it is the mental side of the game.
Let's see what the stats say about Moussa Zanten Moussa.
10 points to steals for seven shooting in two and three from three.
He's really giving them a nice boost.
Solely play there for the Nets.
In fact, he just grabbed a board right there on the missed Howard free throw.
So Cruz is still out there.
Let's see what he can do defensively.
KCP has come in to replace Avery Bradley Now KCP, I think, is going to give you a little bit more on the offensive end right now that Bradley does.
But the question is, can you get the defense Alex Caruso for three Captain America That is so key for him that he can continue knocking down that shot 48% from three last season for Alex Caruso in a tiny sample sized 25 games.
He's not gonna shoot that for an entire season if he did.
Oh, Joe Harris comes back and answers with the three key CP got hung up on the screen.
If Caruso shot 48% from three for the season, he would have been the best three point shooter in the league.
He's not going to do that, but if he can stay up around Oh, Dwight just leveled level.
Torrey imprints with screen and got called for it again.
You'd like to see him be a little bit more careful there, but he yeah, he just destroyed prints on that screen.
In fact, let's see the stick his arms out. We got him with shoulder.
I don't think it was intentional.
He just stepped in and said a good hard screen again.
I like it from Dwight Howard, though.
But unfortunately it is three fouls on Dwight.
So we'll see it if Frank Vogel is gonna pull him or not.
Personally, I just leave them.
I wouldn't bring back a D or anything like that to play center.
I just leave Dwight, let him stay there looking to see if it's a flagrant on Dwight.
I don't think it was.
At least it didn't look like it on the replay I saw.
But, hey, I'm a little bit biased here.
So anyway, KCP is gonna give you, Ah, a little bit more on the offensive end.
But I'm curious to see if he can keep the defensive intensity that Avery Bradley brings out there again. Seeing this replay.
Okay, I mean, Dwight's just standing there and Taurean Prince runs into his shoulder or not.
No doubt it hurt.
That absolutely hurts, but I think that was more a product.
A Taurean Prince not looking and then turning into the screen it, Dwight didn't step into him and throw an elbow.
Adam or anything like that.
It just just one of those unfortunate plays that occurs.
Sometimes they're still looking at this call again, the refs calling things pretty tight.
I'd be surprised if they call that a flagrant.
Dwight doesn't look too pleased.
You're on the sideline, deigning greens, chatting with him.
A lot of veterans on this team, and that's something that's gonna be gonna be important this year.
They're going to be able to kind of rain each other in and again.
I'm not saying he's doing anything wrong.
She doesn't look pleased, and Danny Greene's chatting with him. So it's Frank Vogel.
Are they calling this a flagrant? Yeah, they did.
They call that a flagrant foul, and by the way, that's That's ridiculous.
Dwight was totally said he didn't lean into him.
They called it a flagrant one foul.
Again, these rocks have been calling everything tight.
That is not a flagrant fell at all, not even close.
I am shocked shocks that the referees would would call it.
That is a horrible, horrible call.
That's, um, yeah, again, I get it.
It's early in the season.
You're gonna call things tight But there's no way that that's a flagrant foul when Dwight has set.
Didn't lean into him.
Didn't try to create the contact or anything like that.
Story imprints ran into the screen.
Yes, I'm sure it heard it sucks to Victorian prints it.
It's no good getting caught in that situation, But there was no intent on the part of Dwight Howard to commit that foul.
Yeah, that's Ah, that was a rough call there, Rondo.
Back in, I would imagine, for Caruso will be able to see when it pans back a little bit here.
Go back on the floor as well as Anthony Davis.
So you've got, uh, Rondo KCP Danny Green playing the three Danny Green for three? Nope.
Danny Green and three e.
And then Dwight Howard out there on the floor. Interesting.
Makes good Danny Green to knock down some shots in this one because otherwise you don't have a whole lot of shot creation here.
KCP can do it as well.
You've got shooters around a D, which is, which is great.
And Rondo can create some open looks for people.
But again, it's gonna be important for Danny Green knocked down the open looks that are generated so far today hasn't been really connecting from Deep Rondo, the nice floater in the paint that will help out quite a bit.
And Danny Green over two from three right now, two of seven shooting over.
Also not a great shooting performance for him just yet, but again still have a little ways to go here.
Dwight Howard steals it from the under.
Jordan had a breakaway, so this should be a clear path foul.
That's gonna win some points with Frank Vogel playing that kind of defense.
Yeah, this this should be clear path, I would think, unless they called it on.
Yeah, no, they didn't call it, but they they just gave it a common foul.
Should've been clear pack because Dwight was on a breakaway again.
Some suspect officiating going on here, but again, it's preseason for the referees to Anthony Davis slips the same spot on the floor where Caruso slipped same spot that left side of the floor.
I wonder if there's something going on with that court that's got to be a concern.
If you're Frank Vogel, if you're the Lakers, that There's a slick spot there on the floor because now we've seen three times.
Somebody slipped right there in that same spot.
That's Ah, that's not a good sign for the health of the players.
That's got to be addressed.
We've seen preseason games get cancelled before in San Diego, when the floor was that was considered to be too slick.
So I think there's something going on with that area.
The floor, something to keep an eye on that left side of the court there.
Oh, any green for three this time? No.
248 shooting from Danny Green again.
The big concern within a green this season is, Is there a regression in his shooting shot? A career high 46% from three last season.
And that's part of the reason why he was so valuable.
But the season before he was 36% from deep as San Antonio Spur.
If he's the 36% Danny Green, he's still valuable, but not nearly as efficient.
And so that's gonna be It's something to keep an eye on.
Okay, as the season goes on again, this is one game tiny sample size, so I'm not too worried about this game in particular, but would like to see Danny Green at least somewhere above 40% from deep.
He should be getting enough open looks to hopefully do that.
Taurean Prince in a three.
They're over 80 again.
That's the Nets trying to take advantage of the fact that the Lakers have more size on the floor by going with speed.
DeAndre Jordan had a real nice block.
The replay off on Rondo.
There's Dwight Howard setting another good screen got run out of the rim.
Ram no grabs the offensive board again.
Good things happen when you actually set the screen.
I'm so happy to see this out of Dwight Howard because this again, it is not something that he used to do.
This is something we didn't see the last time when he was with the Lakers.
He was not sending good screens last game against the Golden State Warriors so far tonight against the door this morning, I should say against the Brooklyn Nets.
He's setting good screens, He's getting good contact and, uh, so, so important.
So right now we've got Lakers up to.
We've got 15 minutes out there so far for Anthony Davis, 14 for LeBron James.
Both of them are leading the team in minutes played again.
I want to see that number dropped down.
Maybe they don't play the second half, though.
Maybe they go the same strategy we saw against the Golden State Warriors, where LeBron and 80 just don't touch the floor of the second half.
I'd be okay with that again.
I want to see these guys healthy and get through the game again.
Thank somebody for joining me here today.
It's It's early.
I was up all night and, uh, excited set up for this.
Excited to do this Experience is second screen type of thing Is the first time that we've done this.
So something we may do from time to time.
In the future, we will be doing the postgame live streams.
It won't be doing it today just because it's gonna It's early. You might do it.
Do one on a Saturday morning after the Lakers take on the Nets again.
But, um, yeah, that's gonna be still part of the part of the Lakers nation.
Experience will be doing the postgame shows still have gas around will be doing that.
And from time to time we may do this.
Like a second screen type experience in credit.
Sportscaster, These guys are awesome.
They've been such a huge help.
There are, are so locked in on just helping create the best experience that they can.
And I've been posting all my videos there and things like that, and they go to YouTube and other places as well.
And I've been streaming in through through sportscaster.
But this is where sportscaster really shines is with the live product, because again, the lag is a second or two, and that's it.
And that's not true of most other streaming platforms.
So when you've got things like Facebook live that has a 32nd to a minute, lag doesn't work.
I can't be on here talking about stuff that's happening then you guys see in a minute later because by then you know the place gone.
So being able to actually do this live via sportscasters.
Nice periscope, I believe isn't to blag either, So I mean, look at that.
But, um but yeah, these guys have been really, really good, so yeah, big big thanks to them.
So Lakers up 53 to 51 at this moment, and there's about 2 49 remaining in the quarter again.
I'm just gonna go through through half time, so we'll go the last two minutes here.
Rhonda Olga Braun back out there.
Avery Bradley back.
Nice job pursuing up the screen.
LeBron takes the charge.
Something the LeBron's been doing. Maura of.
We saw him do it in training camp.
We've seen him do it now in a cup in the 1st 2 precincts games, LeBron taking charges new side of his defensive game.
I mean, we're not seeing the chase down block so much anymore, but now we're seeing ah, LeBron taking charges of being smart.
So line up right now is Rondo, Avery, Bradley, LeBron James, Anthony Davis.
So eighties the center right now, because Casey pees on the floor as well as the Lakers are going small.
So this is I don't say that 80 Mrs Jumper.
I don't want to say that death line up here, but this is probably a late game style line up, and that's what Frank Vogel is going for, where you go small with a tea at the center.
The Nets will be doing a nice job taking advantage when the Lakers are big by generating open threes.
So this is a chance to match up.
Now you've got DeAndre Jordan having to defend Anthony Davis and Anthony Davis, obviously much quicker.
So with LeBron 80 pick and roll here, LeBron's gonna get called for an offense.
No, they I called on the perimeter on the defense.
So this is, um this is kind of the close out line up that you're going to see now.
You have to imagine that when he's healthy, cow Cruz was gonna be part of this, too.
And it doesn't necessarily mean that Rhonda was going to be out there.
Bradley is gonna be out there, but a smaller lineup that's probably working what we're going to see.
Close the game's speaking.
What years Avery Bradley hang onto the ball.
Okay, Good entry pass into LeBron.
So far, they haven't asked Bradley to do a whole lot of ball handling type stuff.
LeBron up and under but Mrs at the rim, just a little bit off.
But again, preseason to be expected.
There Rondo got sucked into the paint and then didn't recover out Thio to contest the shot again. That's what you lose.
That's that's where, like Alex Caruso probably makes that effort to get out and try to contest the shot there.
Rondo tries to go for the love and gets it deflected.
Nice play by the Nets, but there's a couple of tough, tough possessions.
Therefore, on nowhere on the offensive end.
He turns of all over and then and leads to eventually a three year from the Nets.
That's two threes in a row for the Nets.
They just took a four point lead.
So Rondo doesn't make the clothes out play.
That's Barry three other, and Rondo turns it over.
That's that's a rough sequence for him.
Hopefully, we can see him bounce back a little bit. Here.
A de knocks in a wide open job, Rick, and that's what you're gonna get because you've got DeAndre Jordan now defending him.
If that story in Prince he's probably out there in the Navy's out on the perimeter of the needy is driving to the basket or doing his work at the in the paint, Avery Bradley gets the ball to LeBron.
Simple brush screen.
KCP launches three and mrs So the mysteries are starting really add up for the Lakers.
The big thing that they improve defines their shooting.
So far, tonight hasn't really been seen.
I keep saying tonight it's really this morning LeBron again, Mrs at the rim.
Some rough time finishing the day Lakers shooting 40% from three.
But where I'm feeling the missus add up is the field goal percentage 42%.
Didn't we dim when he's gonna close out? This thing here got KCP trying to cut around on him.
So the half ends Brooklyn up, 57 55 some rough defensive possessions there where the Lakers went small and again.
You know, not all his fault, but Rondo kind of blew a couple of plays and gave up six points with an offensive turnover and then not closing out on the defensive end.
All right, so that's half time.
Uh, I think I'm gonna call it a rap here because I don't know exactly who's going to be playing second half.
Hopefully LeBron and 80 year bubble wrapped in benched ahead, and we don't see any more of them today.
And besides, this was just kind of a test run for me here, doing this second stream screen experience.
Hopefully, you guys enjoyed it.
