Station and L D s show guys, welcome in here.
But before we get down to serious against the Washington Nationals touch, boys kicking off tomorrow water cooler started to be taking on Patrick Corbin.
Just dodge a killer dogs every day down here.
But you guys watching tonight? Well, let's wait for one now raise Hector.
Can't wait for tomorrow.
You will be you and me both a man.
It is finally here last night.
The nationals getting exciting win and you've got to give.
So do a lot of credit.
Was nice to see Josh Hater meltdown.
And there seems to be this narrator that Hey, the Washington Nationals are carrying all the mo mentum against the Los Angeles Dodgers that they got this ****** off their back, so to speak.
But, hey, it was just one game.
Last time I checked, they still haven't won a multi game division.
Siri's and they haven't won a playoff series.
So I still think there's pressure on the Washington Nationals and then also the Los Angeles Dodgers have momentum on their side.
The Los Angeles Dodgers.
They go 18 and 6 18 and six to close things out And if you look at September 12 in six of the Dodgers, they finish strong.
And the offense, they're getting everyone back.
Everyone's getting healthy.
Justin Turner. Joe Kelly.
You're gonna be good to go, David.
Freeze is gonna be a big part of the action.
But what do you guys? How do you guys feel about Walker Bueller as a Game one choice? Ryan.
I told you this whole year, right? I told you this whole year that we're doing that Walker Bueller was gonna be that Game one starter in the division Series And looks like Dave Roberts was on this.
We're on the same page with Dave Roberts.
But we believe in you.
Ruth, we got Ryan.
Your music is still on.
We got, um we got Boise, Idaho.
What? Elka, Raisa, eh? Zahr struggling from Hector.
Turn the music down so we can hear my bad.
The intro music has been turned down.
Texas is in the house.
661 John Isles We got might want to hear the music is down South Central from Palu Me, We got l'm l Mystery Elmo.
You love of the music from Elm Street, Hector Broad Dodgers carry a six game winning streak into the postseason and 106 wins for the air.
We've got momentum.
Yes, this team definitely has momentous.
This is a special Dodger team.
This is not your run of the Mill Dodger team last year backing into the playoffs, having to play a game 1 63 There's a Dodger team for the Dodgers.
They scored the most runs and allowed the fewest in the National League, and they produce a plus two seven plus 2 73 run differential.
That's third best of any team this century.
So this is not if it wasn't for the Houston Astros, we'd be talking about this Dodgers as that all time great team posting that to 73 run differential.
They're only behind the Seattle Mariners at plus 320 19.
Stroh's at 2 80 So I'm definitely with you guys.
The Dodgers have the moment of on their side.
They have home field advantage on their side, and they don't forget.
They burned Strasbourg last night.
33 pitches for Strasbourg.
He pitched three scoreless innings for the Nats last night, and they're not gonna have him for game one game, too.
Of course he's gonna be the game to starter.
But will he be as fresh as if he would have if you had been, if they would have thrown him out there if they had the lead? So they're gonna have They had to burn Strasbourg in that one.
And patching Corbett is the concern.
But, yes, the Dodgers do have mo mentum.
They definitely have the momentous on their side now the Nationals and the Dodgers.
If you look as you got, Walker is a competitive.
How do you guys feel about Walker? What a P k? Why? As what's up? Doug Ruth L.
Dodgers? Matt Richmond, Virginia.
In the House, Walker is a competitive real.
FRG Bueller is 100% the right call.
Walker Bueller to me is 100% the right call, and there's no question about it on the season.
Ah! Career high 30 starts, 14 and four record of 3 to 6 e. R. A.
And 100 82 a third innings pitch.
And if you look at him in three career games to starts against Washington, dealers allowed five earned runs.
The third innings with three with a 3388 E R A.
His inconsistency this year has been a little bit of a concern.
If you look at six starts this season, he gave up five or more on runs and then nine.
We gave up zero.
I think this time of year we saw when the adrenaline kicks up for Walker Bueller, the Bule dog is absolutely lights out.
You saw in Game three of the World Series last year and you saw in Game 1 63 So I think he's gonna put that inconsistency behind him and we're gonna have a locked in.
He was messing with his mechanics a little bit and his final start, But you know, Walker Bueller is ready to roll.
He's ready to face off against the Washington Nationals.
If you look at this three headed monster off the Washington Nationals, everyone's to talk about.
Yes, they do. Tao.
Three aces, Max yours or when he's on, he's best in the business, definitely there.
He's in that conversation.
Street in Strasbourg has had his best year of late, and if you look at Steven Strasbourg, he's dominated.
Patrick Corbin a famous Dodger killer.
But if you look at it, uh, Hunh Jin Ryu Walker Bueller and Clayton Kershaw they have a combined record of 44 14 posting a 287 e r a.
And the Nationals.
Sure, they're Strasbourg and Corbin.
They have a 43 and 20 record and a 318 race.
So, to me, I think they line up Walker Bealer into start.
You get Game one, and I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna come out if you look at Walker Bealer this year against the Nationals.
Two starts against the Nationals this year.
Won at home, one on the road, seven innings pitched to zero earned runs.
No, uh at home seven innings.
Pitch zero and runs.
Seven strikeouts on the road.
Five and 1/3 4 runs, six K's.
So if you look at Walker Baylor's splits at home, he's six and one with a 286 e R A.
Ah, 112 strikeouts, 10 walks and 208 batting average against.
Compare that to his road record A and three with the 366 e. R. A.
103 K's 27 walks and a 119 whip, and opponents are hitting 3 38 against him on the road.
So you put Walker Bueller in the friendly confines off the Chavez Ravine.
You get Game One and that also 100 were you gets rest for Game two.
They have announced yet, but to me, they go with 100.
Were you in Game two? I've heard some people talking some birdies out Dodger Land have told me that.
Hunter, you is likely gonna be that game to starter.
And to me, he's another guy.
He's carrying the O Mo mentum right now.
He struck out six last night, but he has not looked like the same guy that we've seen when he went out with that back injury last night.
Gave up the home run to Yasmani.
Remember him? I don't And then also toe fames.
But he did strike out six.
But if you look at 100 were you? The rest has got him right? Right 100.
Were you a 1 to 1 e. R. A.
And his past three starts.
He's dominated the nationals and two starts this season.
Two starts against the Nationals a 20.
Two extra base hits.
So you know the lineup that they're gonna bring out that you saw what so did.
By the way, how did you guys like seeing Josh hater have a meltdown yesterday? How do you feel about that? I to me, it could have happened to a nicer know it could happen to a worst guy yesterday.
He gets ****d by Soto, gives up that lead, but back to your comments.
So you guys, everyone is feeling good about Walker Bueller in Game 100.
Were you in Game two and then Clayton Kershaw in Game three? How do you feel about you? Definitely.
Don't forget to mash that heartburn and also like and share on Facebook.
Guys, October's here post season.
We're gonna be rocking with you every night for the post season, so it's really going down.
But Elm Street A's got a rally going.
Uh, John Isles Red Team always scares me in the postseason.
Excluding the 09 Cardinals and the 2016 Nationals, no Dodger team has won a playoff series against Red Team's since the wild card era start.
That's a really good point, and it's it's a fair point.
A red Hey, don't forget.
Dodgersnumber is red.
Um, but yeah, it's a It's a fair point, but I don't think that Ah, only the Dodgers are going to see color.
I think the Dodgers and the Dodgers batters are going to see Red against this line up against this high velocity pitching staff.
So that's I think one of the main factors is the Dodgers ability to hit high velocity pitching.
And you saw it, you saw it and you saw it, too.
And how they could hit guys.
They're tops in the league from that standpoint.
And I think when the Dodgers come in, they're gonna rake.
They're gonna they're gonna have Ah, great shot.
If you look at Gavin lugs gavel ox, he's gonna be on a roster.
He's gonna play.
Dave Roberts mentioned that, but that's a great point.
I think that I think you'll add another window against the against a red opponent when it comes to the nationals, for sure, but back to your comments here, one second here, I read.
But that's your comments.
Here we got, we believe Blue Elm Stree.
Yeah, definitely Don't believe Ray.
You bleed Dodger Blue.
But yes, I think that.
And also going back to How do you guys feel about Clayton Kershaw in Game three? So it's looking like Clayton Kershaw in Game three, and if you look at him, he's throwing less innings on the road.
But he has any as a higher rate.
He's given up less home runs and has a lower batting, every so I think that's the move.
You put Clayton Kershaw and you give him his chance, tohave that signature start on the road.
Don't forget what happened in Game five.
Clayton Kershaw came in, got the final out off that division Siris.
And and I think that I think Game three is gonna be big for Clayton Kershaw.
The Dodgers don't forget to.
The Dodgers drop Game two in 2016 when Rich Hill was a starter and and they still came back and went.
So these two, these two home games air definitely, definitely big time for the daughters that come out of the gates.
They haven't really played a very meaningful game in a wild now in a in a long stretch of time.
So I think the Dodgers coming out feeling that playoff intensity I think that you'll get when the Dodgers clinch the Dodgers clinched back in early September.
So you know there was a playoff juices are gonna be flowing, and you know the Dodgers are gonna want to quell all that Momenta Mme that Washington has after getting that after getting that that wild card win.
So if you look at the Dodgers, um, if you look at the Nationals and that verse, the Dodgers Dodgers scored 30 runs in seven games.
Washington They scored 27.
So offensively, the Nationals are a team that has there not as deep as the Dodgers, but they do have a potent lineup.
So you know they're gonna have a poet line up against the Dodgers this year.
If you look at it, they're hitting.
Um, they're averaging their average.
They're averaging 5.
5 runs per game, and you saw what they can do with Anthony Rent.
Don't taking a look at this Nationals lineup, Anthony Rend own, and if they're really led by Anthony Rend own Juan Soto, Adam mean Trey Turner.
Our old friend does remember him, Cabrera and then row Blaise.
And then Howie Kendrick is a guy who's really having a great year old friend Howie Kendrick.
He's hitting 3 44 121 games.
If you look at, if you look at one soda that the hero form last night, if you look at him, talk about not having a sop****re slump, he gets that clutch knock last night and then he's had the 9 49 P.
And then he hits, slashed to 82 for one and 5 48 34 home runs and 110 r B I's now and the rent dome.
He's the guy that we gotta watch out for.
He's the guy who you know, that the Dodgers are eyeing him in the free agency market.
C plus, but he did definitely go cold in September.
He was He was scorching hot, his blistering hot, and then his production started dip in September.
But if you look at him, you finished 2019 with an O.
He's slashing 3 19 4 12 and 5 98 34 home runs in a league leading to 126 r b i.
So they're gonna be concerned with him.
By the way, what is everyone's prediction for this? Siri's Who you guys got.
You guys got Dodgers and five Dodgers via sweep where you guys got.
I think the Dodgers are gonna win in four games.
I think the Dodgers win this series, and four, I think I think that I think that starting pitching is gonna be tough.
I think it will get them a game.
You have a three headed monster like that.
You hope it'll get you one game.
And then, of course, we'll see what they do in Game one.
Patrick Corbin is no joke.
A two and, oh well, it's just the start of 2018.
A tuna record against the Dodgers, a 20180.
5 90 are a 330 1/3 innings, and opponents are hitting the Dodger, hitting just 1 27 against them, 39 strikeouts to 12 walks.
So once they get over the hurdle, that is Patrick Corbin.
I think the Dodgers can settle down, take care of game, too, because, you know, 100 were you is gonna come in in Game two and he's gonna be all business against the Dodgers.
But what? You guys got it? Jose Roger got dogs and four Maddie, We got Dodgers in four.
Roger, Dodgers sweep Adam Hank's 916 checking in.
Yeah, if you have not checked in, give me your area code Zip code.
Where you rep in Dodgers Nation from tonight.
4 as long as Jansen don't pitch anything.
Kenley Jansen is a guy that you definitely have to worry about.
Kenley Jansen is a guy that we're gonna find on.
We're gonna find out early on here what Kenley Jansen is gonna be about in this postseason.
So arguably one of one of, if not the best closers in the game at one point, there's no doubting that, but there's also no doubting.
There's no denying that he's coming off the worst season in his career.
So we're going to see how much Dave Roberts really trust Kenley Jansen.
I definitely believe that they've ruled out any six out saves any riel high leverage saves that involve more than three outs.
Who knows if they're gonna bring him in with base runners on? You know, if there's a base runner on, that's basically runners in scoring position.
You know they're gonna get to second on Kenley Jansen.
So we're going to see about his diminished effectiveness.
Can he channel that Kenley Jansen that we saw against the Mets that we saw late in the season where that cutter was cutting in San Diego? If you saw some of the ****ytics about his cut fastball have been trending upward that cut on his fastball up almost 1/2 inch.
You saw that when he can rear.
But back when he can rear back, he can still get you 40 45 on the gun.
It's just gonna be How effective is that slider gonna be cause you know that he's not gonna throw 90% cutters like we saw in previous post seasons, and maybe that will be the difference may be mixing it up where guys aren't sitting back on on the honest cutter waiting for a hanging cutter.
If you can throw that slider for strikes, keep them off balance.
Maybe we could get the most out of Candy Jansen.
But when it comes to the long term use of him, if if he is not right, if he's blowing saves, look this a five game series against To me, the second best team in the National League to me, the Washington Nationals.
They started 19 for 31 19 and 31 was their record.
They ran off 75 30 75 30 a record since that 19 and 31 start a very hot team.
So I think with with Kenley Jansen, we're gonna find out.
We're gonna find out if he's up to the task if he's gonna be able to contribute.
But look, the Dodgers have other guys that can close out games.
Joe Kelly is gonna be ready to go.
He's got that body ache, but he's going to be ready to go, and that Julio Urias is another guy that can pick up the slack.
So that's their closer.
And then that's the big factor in the game.
You know that the Dodgers offense is going to It's gonna be a tough task going against this.
This Nationals pitching staff, that is, how were they hang their hat.
The reason why there were playing the Nationals.
Elm Street thinks the Braves were the second best team.
Okay, Roger KJ and the slider with a 93 94 mile per hour fastball.
Let's go Dodgers Maddie Assuming we did well since we swept the D'backs.
Ah, Samuel, Dodgers and three get your predictions in, guys, get your predictions and the Dodgers have, like five closers.
If you think about exactly, the Dodgers have built that versatility and don't look the Dodgers trust me, the daughters will not be afraid to use a starting pitcher.
Will will not be afraid.
If it's Walker beers lined up for tomorrow, you could see him in Game five, if any room to close out Game four.
Walker Bueller will not say no to Dave Roberts in that situation.
Ah, that he will.
He will definitely be up to the task in the Bill.
Dog can close it out.
So there's that element.
The Dodgers have built this this death in the in the rotation and in the bullpen. Four.
Siri's like this, but yes, there is no doubting This is a juggernaut of a pitching staff. Ah, Hunter.
At 1000 and 10 strikeouts, they lead the National League's second most in baseball behind the Houston Astros.
Of course, they have Garrett Cole and Justin Verlander, two guys who have a 36 and 39% strikeout percentage.
But sure is there.
If you look into the numbers, sure, Is there a 2.
248 d r A g r A.
Under three of fip of 245 And if you look at him, he's right up there with strikeouts again.
250 strikeouts and then Washington.
They're also Stephen Strasbourg.
To me, I think that of all the guys to watch out for is going to be Steven Strasbourg.
If you remember early in the season.
Dodgers early Game 10 a.
Stephen Strasbourg had his way with the Dodgers.
Seven innings, two hits.
He really went off.
He had a no hitter late in that one.
So Stephen Strasbourg is really having one of the best years off.
Finished with 18 wins, a War of six and 1/2 and he led the team and strikeouts.
He struck out 251 and only 209 innings.
So also too thing about Strasbourg to is this is 33 starts is the 33 starts.
That's the second most he's made in a season during his 10 year career.
How's he holding up? But he looked fresh last night, three scoreless.
I'm worried most about Steven Strasbourg.
I think he's ready to put his stamp on the postseason.
And then, of course, Patrick Corbin.
Look, Patrick Corbin has had such great success.
All the numbers point to him having success against the Dodgers, but the daughters have the benefit.
Look, they're coming.
This is a day removed from them, popping champagne and Ryan, that emotional wave of winning a wild card game, A franchise, that national franchise.
They had one since 1981 where they were the Montreal Expos.
Okay, and it was there.
There's been four.
There's been four major league teams in Washington since 18 90 1 of them has won a postseason series, so this is a ah team.
That's Ryan, that emotional high tow face 106 win Dodger team.
I don't think they're gonna be up to the task in Game one.
I think the Dodgers come out Raider roll, and I think that even if Patrick Corbin has his way, how do you predict a score of Game one? Throw your game.
One predictions let me know in the comments.
I think the Dodgers, I think that Corbin Yes, he has his usual success against the Dodgers, but I think the Dodgers get to that bullpen.
I think they grind out at bats like we've seen all season long, and then maybe he goes 56 innings.
But once they get to that bullpen, then they start to rake.
I see the Dodgers winning tomorrow, 6 to 6 to three.
Let's say 6 to 3.
I think Walker Baylor maybe gives up some solo shots.
I think the bullpen does their thing.
This Dodger team is ready to flip that switch and get it going for the postseason.
Who's ready? Jose Rod.
Five to Doug Slain 72 Jose Rod L.
By the way, Yes, Jose Rot L.
Roger A to Elm Street.
I feel like will do better against Verlander.
Then we will Strasbourg.
Look, I think so, too, I think.
I think if you look at it, that is one of the one aces, one of aces of the Dodgers sleeve in this postseason.
So as a team they slug a major league leading the Dodgers.
Your boys in Blue, they slugged a major league leading 5 42 against pitches of 95 miles per hour and up in 2019.
So slugging 5 42 against 95 up, that is the postseason.
The postseason is about high velocity, and that's what plays up, and the Dodgers have the response.
They have the recipe to take on big pictures, pictures with big arms, so 5 42 against pitches of 95 or more.
And that's higher than the doctors overall slugging percentage off 4 72 and 123 points above the league average of 4 19 So other thing, too, is when the Dodgers do get through those stars.
When they do get out from under.
Patrick Corbin and Stephen Strasbourg and Max Scherzer.
That's their hardest during reliever, so he can't expect to just come to come in and and shut down this Dodger offense at will.
He's not gonna be able to come in and just throw the Dodgers.
And though his pitches past the dollars, look what the Dodgers did to Josh Hater when Cody Bellinger went deep on him early in the year, Look what happened when the dot what the doctors did to Edwin Diaz.
The Dodgers can get through gas, and I think that they're up to the task and they want to show they want to show major league baseball.
The Dodgers are the team they used to be talking about right now.
Gerrit Cole is nastier than Strasbourg.
Look at his stats. Cyberpunk.
I think Errico is is straight, nasty.
There's no question about it.
But I think I think Stephen Strasbourg, I mean, is you're really split hairs there.
But we'll see how Garrett Cole affairs in this postseason.
I want to see Gerrit Cole in this postseason.
See if is if his stuff holds up if it matches some of his regular season performance.
But Robert 7 50 cent in Virginia Beach, home of Chris Taylor, c t three.
Shout out. Yes, Virginia Beach.
He went to Virginia.
He's a cavalier shot into the Cavaliers out in Virginia.
Man, Welcome to the party, always rocking with us here on the Dodgers Nation.
Actually, since the first time, everyone is always rocking with us.
Here on the NLDS preview show.
I like the fact that Roberts is starting the young fella.
Let's get it done.
Dodgers take care of business Adam Hank's Love, Red shoes.
Christian Lou Baton.
You could sponsor the show.
Samuel, the national starting pitching will be great.
Will be a great test for the Dodgers batters to prepare them tow.
That's a great point that Dodgers aren't going against the Braves of last year or the Diamondbacks of the year prior, or this is a team that's going to get the Dodgers right.
The daughters are gonna be clicks right into place.
The Dodgers will.
We'll have to be ready for a battle for a war against the Warriors against the Nationals, and I think that this is a great thing for the dollars.
I think that they're gonna benefit from having to go against elite competition in the divisional round because, hey, once you get through this monster, once you slay this dragon, that that NLCS, you give the Dodgers seven games now, that's why this is a serious.
That's why this is a serious.
Because with this Nationals bullpen, if is a seven game series, I don't think I don't think you'll have pundits or people worrying or any fear that the Nationals could potentially dethrone the Dodgers and prevent them from making their third straight World Series appearance.
I think it's all about course.
It's a five game series, but once they slay this dragon, you're talking about seven game series against the Braves.
I think I think it will be the Braves or potentially Cardinals, and that is where the Dodgers depth will definitely win on that Siri's and I think, the Coast.
But getting into this this Nationals bullpen, that is where it comes down.
The divers got to grind out these bat and then beat up on the bullpen.
So if you look at Sean Doolittle, he finished the season with an e.
R A before, and then if you look at Sean Doodle Yes, Sean Doolittle.
He has been elite in the past.
Sean Doolittle has been a top tier closer that many of you guys out there were mentioning when we're talking about adding someone during the season.
But he finished the E R.
Ray within the area before.
So a lot like Kenley Jansen, Ah, closer, who's had a lead stuff.
Who's been the the guy in his pan but has had a down year.
So he's faced attrition.
He's his career is getting to the point where maybe he started feeling a little light. Kenley Jansen.
But he's allowed 12 runs, and since the beginning of August, he's allowed 12 runs in 12 innings, and he's allowed opponents to hit 308 against him.
So you bring in Sean Doolittle to close it out tight against the Dodgers.
I like the Dodgers chances.
I think the Dodgers are gonna have their way with this Nationals bullpen.
And if you look it, too, if you look at this Nationals bullpen, they've had seven different pitchers, seven in at least 36 games this season.
So they're a team that throws guys out there.
Like I said, you're gonna see Rainey as as their hard thrower coming out there and then also former Dodger.
How about Daniel Hudson coming off? This is a guy who's dealt with Tommy John.
He's the other guy to watch out for Daniel Hudson.
He might be the guy they're gonna throw out there to close out clutch game.
You're going to see in high leverage, high intensity situations.
He's got a 144 e r a.
They picked him up, and he also has a sub one whip.
So that's that's a guy you gotta watch out for as far as their pen.
They don't throw out guys like the Dodgers have with their extended relief.
But if you talk about this offense, we talked about this offense.
By the way, let's get back to the comments.
How you guys feeling about the The Dodgers will rake with the with the Dodgers.
Just obliterate this.
Ah, this Nationals bullpen to me.
I think that's where they're vulnerable.
And the Dodgers know that, and the Dodgers that that is gonna be something that's gonna affect their approach against the starter.
So let's say the Dodgers tomorrow going.
It's Patrick Corbin.
Let's say they're shut out in the 1st 3 innings.
Let's say they only post run.
Let's say they only played a few runs.
Its how are their at bats going? How are the A bat's? What is the approach gonna be like for this Dodger team? Because, as important as getting runs is working that count of getting Corbin getting Strasbourg and getting Max Scherzer out of the game.
And as they do that, they get to this bullpen and they hit that knockout blow.
Dodgers will be onto the NLCS.
I'll do you prefer the wild card team to be determined by a one game playoff or a three game miniseries? John Isles.
By the way, John, I'll did.
I not predict that the Dodgers would finish with 106 wins and that not say they were gonna run the table.
I think I told you back in, um was like, July see, like 100 6 wins.
But hey, I'm not trying to take a victory lap.
I'm just saying John Isles.
I used to come John East less so respect to John Isles, but to me I like it the way it is.
I think the way it is you're doing.
Siri's almost gives you that NC Double A tournament.
Feel where it's one and done.
Feels like the n a N N B at NFL playoffs, where it's one game.
And then also, I think that's a long layoff.
If you If you throw a team like the Dodgers, they're waiting on a three game series.
You're looking at a potential a week to a two week a week and 1/2.
We gonna have lay off so they could get cold.
So I think it's perfect like it is. It's exciting.
I wish the n B A playoffs.
Their first round is ridiculous.
They should make a three game series out of that.
So I think it's It's a law of diminishing returns.
Less get less is more for those that first game tonight, it looks like the Rays are running away with it against the Oakland A's.
Who do you guys have in this game? I don't know.
I just came off the top of the head, but play disciplined by Roger Jose Rod one get.
How do you guys feel? Is there anyone out there that would like to see anything different than a one game than a one game Siri's.
I mean, then I want, you know, I would actually prefer to be one game, but make it like 30 innings.
How about that? That way they're burning pictures left and right.
Then the Dodgers there not to worry about guys like Steve in Strasbourg.
I wanted Oakland.
Man, The bad part is the travel.
They had to go all the way across the country.
Yeah, you're totally right. The travel is a factor.
And that, too, is a factor.
Of course, as you mentioned against the Nationals, by the way, do you guys consider I want to get you guys a opinion on this.
What's your take on? Do you think that this is the ****** off their back? Do you think that that this is the ****** off their back to me? I I think it's kind of ridiculous.
I mean to me, the Washington Nationals have never eliminate a division winner in the postseason, and they have still never want a multi game postseason.
Siri's Sorry, I'm I'm a stickler for the details here.
and I'm just saying so, um So the other things to get into for this series, of course, is the offense.
If you look at all or the the offense for the for the Dodgers, so won't they? Don't ask you guys.
Who do you guys think is gonna be the M V P M v P for that? Not like there is one, but who thinks it'd be the M v p on offense for the Dodgers in this series To me? David Freese.
Oh, David, Freeze it.
By the way, go to dodgers nation dot com.
There's a great Peas about David Freezed about about David Freeze and how the Dodgers are gonna look to use him.
So if you look at David Freeze, he's got a three over.
He's batting over 300 against Corbin.
He's a guy who can get it done.
And if you look at him, he is a guy to that.
Ah, if you look at it Ah, David, freeze.
He's the guy that's gonna come in.
I think he's gonna rake.
I think that he's gonna heat.
They've been They've been keeping him on ice.
They've been keeping a freeze on eyes all season long for a Siri's just like this.
So to me, I think David Freeze is gonna be that that m v p or I think or Elm Street.
I think Kris Taylor could come in.
That's a great call.
Charles Hammell. Welcome to the party.
Were you Ben Charles been saving a seat for? You know, if anything, that Nat's winning now puts more pressure on them, which is which? The our advantage for this Siri's exactly freeze Taylor clutch hitters.
Um, cyberpunk and v p A rookie.
Oh, so you got one of the rookies.
Think it's gonna be Gavin Lux? You think it'd be Gavin looks Will Smith.
If you look at Will Smith, Will Smith is a guy that is totally gotten together.
Will Smith, I think to, I think, look for Will Smith his first time under these bright lights.
And the key is, don't let these lights get too bright.
Okay? Like Cody Bellenger.
Ah, lot of the guy's asking Cody, and what's it like playing against guys like like like Corbin guys like, sure Zerg.
I like big time postseason arms, he said.
Don't think about the pitcher.
Go up there have your at bats and, yeah, I kind of want to change the Cody Bellinger basic because he's getting his because he's gonna get his M v.
P is gonna get his bobblehead first post season bobblehead giveaway.
So I kind of want to go with with Cody Billings.
But you mentioned Yeah, well, Smith is a guy.
I think he's gonna have a big division round.
I think that they'll probably throw Russell Martin with 100 Were you in Game two.
But Will Smith, if you look at him, he's sitting 3 26 with runners in scoring position and 3 81 with runners in scoring position and two outs last seven games as we get closer to the postseason.
He's hitting 308 So that's a big bump.
And then, also, like I said, David, Freeze is a guy you gotta watch out for.
But getting back into this, I think Corey, Seager, Muncie and Smith have a good Siri's.
I think I think Corey Seager getting his first taste, getting his first taste of postseason action.
I think it's a guy that you want to see.
Come in there and have great success if you look at if you look at Corey Seager at home against left handed pitching.
So I think Corey Seager could be the M V P to Can I pick like five? But I guess I've already said David Freeze.
So I'm gonna go with David Freese still, but I think Corey Seager at home.
I mean, course here at home.
Verse left handed pitching Since July 12 he's batting.
He's slashing 3 43 3 95 and 600 with a 1 65 W R C plus.
So he struggled early on against left handed pitching.
But look, Corey Seager is a guy that you're going to see to come in and, um, and you look to have success and about Gavin.
Look, you guys think that Gavin looks Matt Bt, I think you'll see mad Bt come up a couple of their mad baby he's gonna be He's gonna be a guy that you're going to see come up in a clutch situation.
He's hitting 3 85 with runners in scoring position with an O.
P S of 1000 83 but last seven games from Matt Baby, not one for his last nine batting under 100.
Last 30 batting 1 82 So, of course, with that oblique injury to Alex Verdugo, Yes, that's gonna put him on that roster, but he's gonna have on the bench.
And you're going to see him in spots, too.
But, um, let's see, we got David.
Freeze A guy you gotta watch out for.
And the thing, too.
If you look at those reverse splits and that this is a thing why David Freeze.
I want to see how he's gonna be managed in this postseason.
I think, Yes, this is a team, a very ****ytics oriented organization.
They're a team, very platoon happy in previous years.
And we're gonna get answer early on on how the Dodgers are gonna operate with their platoons scheme.
So, David freeze.
If you if you look at him on 14 games, he appeared in 14 games last postseason.
By the way, only guy really to rake in the World Series last year, David freeze.
But ah, the 14 games he appeared and he was not available in the eighth or ninth innings, eighth or ninth inning and nine of those games.
So go read Tim Rogers piece on how they're using David. Freeze.
Look on how the Dodgers might look to use him, but that's the problem with a guy like David Freeze.
You got to keep him in there.
You got to keep it warm because he is so clutch.
There's no ****ytic for intangibles, and David Free showed us in 2011 against the Royals that this guy is as clutches it gets when it comes to the postseason.
If you look at David, freeze this guy.
He's a guy you wonder.
His fourth most in playoff games.
Played with active players.
He's fourth most in the in the baseball with 65 postseason games.
So he's a guy when the pressure, when the pressure When the pressure's on.
When that When it's time when it's timeto to come up and clutch situations.
The guy who went up there also take a look at at his reverse splits.
If you look at him, he's slashing 2 87 3 85 and 5 15 against left handed pitching and he's slashing 3 61 4 35 7 38 against writing.
So you keep David freeze in there in the more times you get the more at bats he has, the more opportunities he has to have special have a special moment.
I know a lot of you guys.
I asked, who's gonna be the Kirk Gibson off this postseason? I know a lot of you guys say it's gonna be David Freeze.
I think it's gonna be rich Hill.
So how do you guys feel about Rich Hill as that fourth starter? So I think it's very clear right now.
He punched his ticket into this postseason as a dad, as the Dodgers fourth starter, and I also think Dustin May did to Dustin May.
What he did and the Latin Ah, coming out of the pen joined the pen.
And possibly Tony God's land might be on the fringe here. Tony Gonsouland.
Well, see, I hope that we see God consulate and May in the postseason.
But how do you guys feel about Rich Hill as that Game four start to me rich ill If you look at him, you're talking to 26 to post season your Ray Ah, Charles Hammell Doug, you go into the watch party Sunday.
I will be in the house tonight.
Great segue way.
There is a little plug I get to meet Charles Hammell, who's been rocking with us all season long, but definitely I will be at clear.
Men's at the boat in Rose.
Me? So definitely all you guys should go.
It is gonna be the Dodgers party.
You will not want to miss it.
It is going to be lady lit, Lit as the kids say.
There's gonna be gonna be a lot of gonna be lots of fun.
Me Dodger fans rock your Dodger gear.
We'll have some giveaways.
You will not want a mission.
I think Brett Tom co off.
Former big leaguer is gonna be there.
So you're gonna get former big leader in the house.
It's gonna be great.
Hopefully we'll be celebrating an N L. D s win.
And maybe we can preview that NLCS.
Who knows? But lakers threepeat dodgers when it all Finally.
Hey, I think the dodgers to me.
I think it culminates in a World Series, but first we got to get through that NLDS.
We're gonna win a cross that bridge when we get there, But But here we go back to the comments.
Oh, yes, Oh, yeah, Dave Rich, Rich Dave Roberts said about about ritual.
We're comfortable with ritual going four innings.
That's that's where going eight in the bullpen makes sense.
So that's from Dave, Roberts says that's where a in the bullpen makes sense.
And so the thing, too.
He also mentioned that that wherever the team is playing, it's not gonna factor in his decision making.
So he's not going those home road splits.
So that's a little That's a little that's a little bit interesting dynamic there.
But he also So yeah, he said.
He said the splits matter, But we're digging a little bit deeper than home and wrote, So you got to trust this ****ytics apartment and a franchise and a manager to me.
I trust Dave Roberts, I and Dave.
We trust any guy to 100 win seasons in his 1st 4 23 postseason wins for Dave Roberts, and he did indicate that it's going to be rich.
He's thrown 55 and 2/3 innings since he went down with that injury in June and through those five and two innings.
He's allowed just one run and struck out 11 so he's shown us a lot of heart.
But more importantly, it's not even about the heart.
Hey, this is not This is not we're not filming a Disney movie here.
We're trying to win postseason games and, most importantly, has shown us that he can be effective.
So to me, it's It's how he how that knee responds so well to see how that knee responds, Putting that Game four hopeful that M. C.
Strand can get as healthy as possible and allow him to plant.
But that breaking ball was there and after, after when he first went out against against the Padres.
When he first came back, that fast ball was my concern.
But then that second inning, we're going to strike out four consecutive batters.
It was sent around 91 so the velocity was there.
You got to feel good about that.
So So the concern to his patch of Corbin.
How will the Dodgers fair with Patrick Corbin? So we gave you the numbers on him at Dodger Stadium at Dodger Stadium, his e R.
a drops to 297 in over 60 and 2/3 innings.
So if you look at it, his record 5 to 9 record against the Dodgers.
This is his whole career, by the way, not just since his last five in 3809 innings pitch, but he likes pitching a Dodger Stadium and he fares very well.
They're so seven shutout innings in 2019.
This is gonna be a tough task, but I think the daughter's arm or than up to it, I think the Dodgers are ready to get this going.
JJ October Jock Peterson, 36 home runs.
I think he's a guy who's going to get after it in this series.
I think you're going to see him get at least 11 dinger off off shares or so.
The other thing, too, is if this Siri's goes to 45 games, they're gonna see Corbett a second time.
So getting this Siri's taking care of business early on and Games 12 and three of the Dodgers come out like gangbusters and steamroll this national team, then they know it has the added benefit of not having to face Corbin again.
And if it's in Game five, it's back at Dodger Stadium.
So that's the thing.
But hey, David, freeze is the answer against Patrick Corbin.
That's why I think right out the gates, I think, look, the reason why I have David freeze as my as my as my M v P P.
I think this could be a short series.
I think a potential sweep is within the card.
I just want to see this Dodger team when the lights are bright.
When the postseason is here.
I have a feeling that Dodgers have been waiting for this for months and months and months and months and months and months and months, and now they're ready to go, because now it's about those 11 wins, not the 106 wins.
They want a chance to rewrite history and get that World Series and the drought at 31 years.
I know this team is like a snarling pit bull just ready to get after it and David freeze a 3 13 average lifetime against Corbin's.
Oh, not a lot of success in this Dodger lineup, but David Freeze.
You know that he's gonna give you a great at bat against corporate, so we'll see how that goes.
How do you guys feel? How many innings you think the daughters will get out of Walker Bueller in Game one? I think Walker Bueller.
I think Game one.
He's ready, I think. I think Walker Baylor goes seven.
I think Walker Billy goes seven, gives up five hits.
I think we would have a signature performance by the Bill Dog.
You see the look in his eye.
He knows it's a special opportunity to get that ball from Dave Roberts when you got guys like 100 were you? Ah, guy who really should have won the Cy Young Award if it hadn't been for those four clunkers he had there in August? And then Clayton Kershaw the picture of the generation.
He knows the task at hand and the honor it is to be the Game one starter in the NLDS.
I think Walker Bealer makes the most of it.
I think he goes seven.
I think this lineup feels the effects of a very emotional game.
Ah, division game against the ah against the I mean ah play in game against the Brewers.
So now how do you guys think about about Clayton Kershaw in Game three? I think I think it's a great spot for Clayton Kershaw, because one I hope the Dodgers air up to at that point, I think we take care of business at home.
Were you pitching? Gem? I think Walker Bueller pitches a gem, and I think the bullpen pitches well enough.
Who knows if we're gonna be lights out? Look, we're probably never gonna see of the bullpen like we did leading up to Game two in the World Series in 2017 where they pitched 28 shutout innings.
That was a record at the time, were pulling.
Not going to see that.
But this Dodger offense combined with the excellence of Walker Bealer to me, I think you get two gems and you said Clayton Kershaw up on the road, a chance to close out.
Where? Where? Yes, not nine and 10.
But Game five on the road.
That's one of his shining moments and coming in there in closing it out to take the Dodgers to the NLCS.
So if you look at him that fastball velocity, it has been diminished.
He's averaging 90.
4 on the fastball this year.
He's got that that he's got the history in the postseason.
But I think that Clayton Kershaw he understands Onley blemish on his resume is a world siris on Lee.
Blemish is the narrative that he can't pitch in big games in the postseason.
And I think that Game three.
I think you're going to see a great showing from Clayton Kershaw.
But how do you guys feel about clean Kershaw in Game three? Doug Slaying game through his perfect for courage, he'll shine.
Dez. He switched his shoes.
He is with scale.
Yeah, the sketcher.
I saw that man a Clayton Kershaw.
You rock in the Skechers, Mom at eight. Skechers.
There's nothing wrong with sketches are sketches.
Air clean sketches are clean.
Um, actually, start out Manhattan beach on, uh, out in California actually know the people who started sketchy shots then they're probably watching the show.
Um uh, shot to the shouts of the sketches people, though.
But the Skechers You gotta love that.
Hey, Joe Montana did Skechers? I am not mad at me and he's gonna be wearing when they say he's gonna be where he's gonna be wearing a sketch is clean.
That's gonna be crazy.
But hey, now I would much rather be Kenley Jansen and be signed to Jordan Brand Butthead.
I'll wear anything if they're paying me So I'm not mad at Clayton Kershaw.
Perfect Game by Adam Hank's Strange says, Stop Elm Street, Skechers or Ugly.
This is becoming a focus group for Skechers.
Hey, I used to like those, uh, and I said, Man, I used to rock the light up sketches back in the day.
I think I still have a brush.
So I mean, I would rock with those one of the big lighters for adults.
Man, give me some light up Skechers Kershaw Signature issues.
Um, but hey, and that's the thing, too. He signs with Skechers.
Eliminate that sketchy postseason past.
I like what you're saying out there, Charles Hammell.
The way they did the starting pitchers for game 12 and three is perfect Lakers.
The question is the pitching, not the hitting.
I disagree with that.
I think the question is the hitting.
I think the Dodgers pitching is gonna have their way with this lineup in stretches.
I think they'll get their runs.
And there's no question about if you look at this.
If you look at this Nationals, if you look at this, the Dodgers offense verse there, lefty.
So that is the concern.
If you'll, I think it's the to me. The Dodgers.
If you look Thio, I think that if you look to the dodgersfirst lefties, that's been a problem to pass right This year they're ranked fourth of the National League with a 103 W R C plus, and they also ranked second in that in the National League.
And I so isolated power against left handers.
So they get hard contact.
And I think that's one of the messages that the Dodgers sent early on in this series.
That they're able to hit lefties, that they're able to come in and get at bass.
And I think that will improve, especially when you if you look too Ah yeah, you look Thio Cody Bellinger.
His splits are decent to with lefties, so I think it's gonna be about.
But if you if you look at this Dodger pitching, if you look at some of these, these the threats that these nationals pose you got.
So you got eaten? Trade Turner.
Brian Dozier Cabrera Row Bless the towel waver from last night.
Howie Kendrick are all Ah, they're all they're all that.
They all can get it done offensively.
And if you look at you So Trey Turner.
He's a guy he's hitting 2 98 Stole 35 bases in 122 games, so don't let him get on late against Kenley Jansen.
Then, of course, Adam Eaton.
Adam Eaton is healthy right now, and he's posting a one away W R C plus Rando NW.
He's the guy that you gotta watch out for.
Anthony Rend own, by the way.
Real quick is this.
If you want to see, maybe Anthony Rend own gets, gets beat bad with the Dodgers and says, Hey, can't beat him.
Maybe Aunty Rend own sees this as an opportunity.
Sees what this Dodger club is building.
Maybe we get ran.
In the off season, you've seen the reports that the Nationals offer him a contract.
Um, just like they did with you know, that was just how was with with Bryce Harper, By the way. Bryce Harper.
How's it going? He's gonna be like you and I watching the game.
Maybe you could use all that money and get a dugout seat.
Hey, that'd be kind of nice.
Maybe we'll we'll see. Bryce Harper.
But Bryce Harper He will not be in tomorrow's game.
He plays in Philadelphia, and he's on the couch like you and I.
So he's a nacho eater like you and I.
But if you look at Anthony Rend own, he's a guy who last night he got that big walk of Anthony.
Rendon doesn't get walked, we don't face.
The Nationals were paid playing the Brewers last 30 games for Anthony Rendon.
He's hitting to 77 slugging, 5 15 Last 15.
He's hitting 1 63 slugging to 65.
Last seven games.
He's three for 20 hitting one batting, 1 50 about 1 50 slugging 200.
So Anthony rent don't.
His production has dipped very significantly when, hey, if he finishes that season strong, he probably takes that M V P from Cody Bellinger.
At least makes a big time.
Takes a, gives him a big time run for his money, so he's a guy.
But how do you guys feel? Are you guys afraid of Anthony? Rend own to me.
I love him as a future Dodger.
I think maybe you move Justin Turner first put Round Donut third, Especially when you consider the Dodgers were gonna make uh, yeah, I think.
I think I think so.
I think that I think you go with that.
So but anyways, Anthea Red, don't if you look at him like I said slashing 3 19 for 12 5 98 But he's not very hot right now.
Maybe he turns it on right now, maybe catches fire, but he's not hit it.
He's not his best in the plate at the moment, but we'll see tomorrow.
It's a postseason is a different animal altogether wants, and I don't think there's very much to be made with that, too.
So ah, Juan Soto, he's the guy to How exciting is this rookie of 4.
8 war? He's a guy that Howie Kendrick, and if you look Thio, Cabrera Suzuki.
But like I said, we're gonna get to that bullpen and the Dodgers are going to match.
So if you look at this bullpen, Sean Doolittle, he's got, um, if you look at Sean Doolittle, he's a guy.
8 ex Pip This season, they had the fewest strikeouts.
They saw the Dodgers but the Nats bullpen.
That's where the divers are going to eat.
The Dodgers are going to rake this bullpen.
They've had the fewest amount of strikeouts.
Opponents hit a league high to 66 against them.
They blew 29 saves, which is tied with the Dodgers.
But we know why that happened.
But and the Dodgers? So that's the thing.
The dog has got to get this bullpen they gotta eat.
Um, but, hey, don't don't underestimate.
The fact is that this is a special Dodger team we gain.
We told that run differential earlier.
If you look too, the Dodgers per fangraphs their pitchers and hitters amassed the most war in the leak, so the ****ytics love the Dodgers.
The Dodgers have mo mentum, by the way, go to dodgers nation dot com and get geared up for the postseason.
Come check us out at the boat for the party on Sunday.
It is going to be off the chain.
Maine is gonna be lit.
Um, but the big thing to is is the Dodgers.
They didn't have to fight and claw their way into this postseason.
They set themselves up very nicely with the rotation.
And two, If you look too, I mean 100 the things you about the labs, the only that we don't know right now is the lineups with Alex for do go out.
It made it easier on us to know that it was gonna be mad, baby.
And that Gavin Lux was gonna make that postseason roster with Tony Gonsouland.
Maybe on the Friends right now, but dust and made being lights out.
You know he's gonna get that spot.
Julio Arias came to my aid.
A rich hill, Kel, Eric is probably gonna be that first guy that comes out of the pen.
That's how Dave Roberts has been using him lately.
I think you'll see him coming out of the pen first, but we don't know the lineups.
The Dodgers this year they featured 100 and 60 different batting orders.
Ah, 154 different defensive line ups.
Nine different players made a started first base.
So the doctors, you know, we're gonna shove things around, You know, they are paying close attention to those ****ytics.
Ryan Mont says, There you go.
210 to 215 million.
I'm not scared of the Nats at all.
The Jeanette's um, Jose is j t healthy.
Hey, as faras, as far as we know, Justin Turner is going to be ready to go.
You know, the splits with him, You know, when he when the Dodgers win games, you can check that box score.
You're probably gonna see a hit or two from Ginger Jesus.
So he's gonna raid a row.
They were giving him some extra time.
Might take him a game or so to get that timing. Worry once.
But look for a big postseason, I think Justin Turner he knows.
Hey, how many years does he have left? As as the dodgersthird ba*****t.
Maybe this is the last go round.
Maybe he goes thio first.
After this, we know he's getting maybe lost a step or two.
I third I think he sees us.
Hey, you don't get very much, very many opportunities to get a world siris.
I think he sees us as a big showcase.
I think Justin Turner has that signature.
Siri's, um Ah, senator Postseason and he And he hits very well if you look to Justin Turner. Amen.
He brought it in the world.
Siris Justin turning the world siris.
He has 3 33 8 for 24 by definitely fully expect him to be in.
I expect him to be ah, core contributor to the Dodgers offensive attack.
Charles Hammell J T.
Has been practicing and Sim games, yet he's been teasing, practicing in seven games, going against live hitting.
So you know he's ready. You know that.
He's been putting in the work and he's gonna be ready to go when the Dodgers take on the Nationals tomorrow in Game one of the NLDS.
Now on a scale of 1 to 10.
How excited you guys for the postseason.
I'm just I can't even sleep, man.
Is is the countdown is on.
It feels like Christmas Eve right now, Ryan.
Oh, Ryan Montez.
I'm hoping Bellenger, with the home run.
Who predict? Who hits a home run for the Dodgers tomorrow? I think I think David Freeze.
I think David Freeze goes deep. Brian Kelly.
That's that's huge.
But, um, but hero at the 55 minute mark.
Guys, thanks for rocking with us.
