So I guess now you understand what the plan Waas.
We talk Indianapolis Colts football.
We're gonna stick to what we know.
Fundamentals and technique.
1% better every day.
All right, so I guess now you understand what the plan Waas Absolutely.
We talked Indianapolis Colts football.
We're gonna stick to what we know.
Fundamentals and technique.
1% better every day.
All right, so I guess now you understand what the plan Waas Absolutely.
We talked Indianapolis.
How's it going, guys? All right.
So I am here to talk with you guys about yesterday's game.
I'm sorry. It took me a while.
For some reasons.
The stringing keys won't wasn't working for me, but I think I got it figured out.
So I'm going over the Colts Raiders game yesterday and it looked pretty bad.
But then I kind of sat back and thought about it a little bit.
And you know what? Uh, cultural? Nothing there.
Arguably top four biggest playmakers to one defense to offense.
With Marlon not going out before the half.
They were missing Moreland, Mac and T y Hilton.
And then on defense.
They didn't have various letter Malik Hooker, arguably the two biggest playmakers on defense.
Now, that doesn't explained everything.
But it does explain quite a bit on offense about why the run game didn't go as well as planned and the fact that the Colts fell behind early.
That also kind of hurt a little bit on the run game.
But honestly, there's multiple factors and why the Colts lost this game, and one is the run defense people going to say, Well, the past, the things could get no pass rush couldn't get Hey Perry.
And yes, it is the lost generators.
But you think about it.
I mean, you lose your top four biggest players on your team, that that hurts, period, that matter what team you are, if you lose your top four biggest planemakers, you're not going to do nearly as well.
But as I'm saying, there was a couple other factors that went into this loss first and foremost, in my opinion, even though the Colts gave up passing, they they didn't stop the run.
They had to stop run all year.
You look at the average yards per carry that the Colts have given every game so far this year, it's awful.
It's over five yard to carry that.
Every team that they play.
Last year, the Colts gave up less than four yards to carry, and they have the exact same starters on defense that they had last year.
What's what's wrong with this? Is that that sense of urgency? Not there, that they had last year? Did they feel like, Well, we got a good run defense.
Now we need to work on other things, but yet they still need to work on that run defense.
Come on now, Um, pass rush.
No sacks last week, No sex this week.
Now you can credit card or the fact that he's like one of the top like three best quarterbacks in the NFL getting the ball out real quick.
But there were times when there was absolutely no penetration.
What's a lover by the defense in front four now? There wasn't a lot of blessing that happened in this game, either, even if loose was quite vanilla when it came to defensive play calls.
You know, there wasn't a lot of a blitzing the one, A lot of mixed coverages There wasn't a lot of hidden coverages.
You know, pretty much car saw what he saw, and that was that and that you would see the linebackers crowd line and then back up before he hiked the ball.
That's too, too early.
You know, once he sees the linebackers back off that line, that he knows what's going on.
You can't back off that line.
That's not hiding your cover.
You can't back off that line until it actually is hyped.
You know, make him make tough decisions.
That's the way I see it.
But they weren't doing it.
They need to play with more urgency.
They need to get better pass rush now.
You can't get a pass rush with your front for, uh, when you have your starters there.
I mean, like, they had sheared first game back of the year after that knee injury in the preseason, they had just in Houston out there.
Those are your two biggest and Danica Watery.
Those are your three biggest pass rushers, and yet they couldn't land home.
That that says something that tells me now Oakland's got a bigger offensive line than most people, so the Colts in my opinion should have been able to use their speed, athleticism and quickness on that defensive line to get some penetration at times.
But they weren't able to.
Why is that less urgency? Was there something going on that there shouldn't have been going on? You know, with your mindset, I don't know.
We need to look into that.
The Colts need to look into that and figure out what what's what.
Because Coast last year started off one in five, and then after that, that players only meeting.
They started to click offensive, and defensively, they started playing really, really good.
Now I will say, I hope Leonard comes back because if he's not able to come back and hookers not able to come back for this Chiefs game and Marlon Mack than the culture in for one heck of a beating because the Colts play the Chiefs in prime time next Sunday night and without their hook missing, Hooker's already gonna be awful, because I am.
The last time the Colts played him, they didn't have Hooker in the playoffs, right, and Mahomes was able to go beat any time you wanted to.
Uh, Willis played well in his absence.
But he's not a hooker.
He's not that kind of guy that can just straight up go sideline to sideline and intercept a football and make you pay for a poor decision of poorly place mall, you know? So hopefully, uh, hopefully the defence place with a little bit of urgency from here on out, because it just doesn't seem like they had it these 1st 4 weeks.
There was a time.
I understand that Quincy Wilson on that one touchdown pass it. He gave up.
And at the front corner of the end zone, uh, it was a nice back shoulder throw, you know.
Derek Carr and Quincy couldn't get there quite quick enough to swap the ball the way he was.
Just a hair too short.
He tried, but he was like 1/2 a second to too late in slot in the ball, and he was right on him.
It was really good coverage right up until the receiver stopped and turned back for the ball.
And then he was just that half a second too late.
It was perfect timing by the receiver in the quarterback, but Quincy sat there and like was clapping like, you know, good job.
They did not excellently, you know, shaking his head.
And I understand. Yes, it was it was great.
But don't do that on the field.
That's gonna make fans look at you like, you know, you don't care.
And I as a person who watches film, I understand that you were like, Wow, that was really good execution and almost impossible to defend.
But at the same time, you can't let your average Francie you do that because if you do, they're gonna really Basically they're pissed in your Cheerios, right? Can't do it.
Um, Anthony Walker, the Mike linebacker, he and the traditional Mike linebacker has been filling in for Leonard at the little linebacker spot.
Well, while he's been hurt, he's been playing really, really good.
Very, very, very good.
Even even it will he now he belongs to the mic.
Darius belongs in the will, so hopefully we'll get that back for Kansas City.
But against this Raiders team, the first thing was first.
You could they could not stop the run game whatsoever.
The second touchdown of the game was on end around that went for 63 yards an end around.
We have speed on this defense and an end around with 63 yards.
Come on, an end around reverse.
That should not happen.
But somehow they had two blockers downfield and our speedy defense couldn't catch the guy and that that put the Colts down rather quick.
That put him in a position where they had to start playing more past and then run.
And then, of course, Marlon Mack injuring his ankle on, you know, one really good one.
Hey, he was starting to heat up.
They're in the second quarter.
He was starting to get chunk yards, 6789 10 yards per carry, you know, whereas at first you know he was getting hit in the back field for, like, a four yard loss or at the line and getting one or two yards Hey was starting to heat up.
The run game was starting a look good, and then he rolled his ankle.
Yeah, that's that's not good.
Hopefully he'll be able to play against Chiefs because we're gonna need a really strong run game against cheese to keep them off the field because as we saw last year, the Chief's week last year in the divisional round, Uh, we did not run the ball like we should have.
It was nasty and cold, and Marlon Mack got hit a couple times in the back building.
They gave up on the run, and they should have.
We should just kept doing.
And then Frank Reich admitted afterwards, Yeah, we we need to be more more focused on running the football, and they have been generally this season.
I'll give him credit for that, But I know some things that you could take away being that the Colts lost their top former top four playmakers in this game.
They still score 24 points without T y Hilton without Marlon Mack.
Three drops did not help Chester Rogers drop did not.
Now, Chester had a couple of nice nice plays After that drop.
Zach passable had some nice place.
Deon Cain had a drop, but that one drop that he had was behind him, so I'm not gonna put it on him.
But the other one Yeah, that goes on him.
Paris Campbell had a fumble after second effort.
He needs to learn to keep that ball high and tight when he's pulling for extra yardage.
That was a hell of a play that he made.
I mean, he turned a routine five or six yard crossing pattern into like a 12 15 yard play and then lost the football.
They got ripped right out of his hands.
He needs to keep that ball high and tight, especially when he's fighting for extra yardage and in the midst of a whole bunch of defenders, because that's what they're trying to do.
They're trying to get that ball out.
So that's something that he's gonna have to learn as a rookie at something.
He's he's, you know, probably not really been focused on as much as as his route running and getting timing with this quarterback and things of that nature.
But if he's gonna play the way he plays, he needs to learn that.
And that's just facts, right? That's how I see it.
Um, your offensive line did okay, They did pretty good.
They really didn't get 2% too much.
I don't have too much of Ah, a call on that.
Other than Mark Lewinski having a couple calls against him, and he said a couple calls against him in a few games.
This this this year I've always been high on Mark because he doesn't really get the, uh, the attention that I thought the rest of the left side does.
And I always thought that Mark Lewinski really played well last year and he's still playing well.
But he's he's getting some calls.
He he's had some pull start.
He's had a couple holdings.
Uh, he needs toe play up to his potential.
We're above this potential, if you want to look at it, is the fact that you know he was a Seattle Seahawks was let go, and then the Colts picked him up and then was part of this great offensive line they had last year.
When they're still good.
And if you want to say over sets, not the quarterback, because you know he didn't play well in this game, those drops, you can't count those against him.
There was like 45 drops in this game.
I think five drops from the Colts this game.
You put those five five place back in.
It's it's a completely different game, right and right Now he's averaging about 3700 yards on the season, 40 touchdowns and eight picks.
Tell me a team that would not be happy with those stats at the end of the year.
40 touchdowns, eight interceptions.
That's what he's averaging about 3700 yards.
I think about any team in the NFL would be happy with that minus like the Kansas City Chiefs because they're expecting, you know, 50 touchdowns and whatever, you know, I've seen somewhere where it was like 6000 yards or something that they were saying that he was gonna be throwing, but I come on now.
That's that's kind of retorted.
I'm not saying it's impossible.
It's been incredibly, highly unlikely right now, so I think we're set doing fine.
He's doing well.
He's learning as he goes.
He's still Ah young quarterback still learning the system.
Still learning his plane makers did not have his two top players he did not have.
T Wife start game did not have Marlon Mack a lean on in the second half, so I think he did rather well, a special if you tag in those five drops that they had, I think process is still playing Well, uh, what else? We won't talk about, man.
Because frankly, unless we get some players back this upcoming Sunday, Coulter not gonna do well, So I'm gonna be watching very closely to the practices into the injury report and hope and pray that Leonard and T.
Y and Mac are fine because we already know Malik Hooker won't be playing.
You'll be out until what? We all depends.
I said 4 to 6 weeks, so, you know, it just happened.
So he still got at least four weeks to go? Probably minimum two.
But we got that. Bye week.
So that will help in his return so that he will miss one less game with that bye week early rather than leak, But yeah.
So basically reset.
Still playing Well, injuries have killed the Colts and the defense front seven needs to play with more urgency, and he broke loose.
Needs to be playing with a little bit Maur Pa's ass and quit playing so much vanilla defense.
Right? That's my opinion.
That's how I seen it.
It was really difficult for me to actually bring this out because as I watched the game, I was incredibly upset, incredibly, and not from the play of the players.
I mean, Iran drops on.
It was just like, Wow, you know, I mean, we're seeing him last year, but he made enough big time plays for people that overlook builds drops.
So But when you have three drops in one game that hurts.
Not only the those three plays, but it hurts production later because every time you're open and the quarterback sees you, he's second guessing himself.
He's Should I give it to him, you know? Is he gonna drop this one, too? So he really needs to work on his hands.
I think it has a little bit to do with the fact that percent delivers it a lot different than what Love does.
Look, delivers it with less velocity, then percent.
So you know the balls.
You gotta be able to clasp your hands on that ball a lot faster than then what? You would have to look Jacoby again, as I predicted, would have a great game.
And he should have, uh, not Jacoby.
Doyle Doyle had a great game.
Doyle's our number one tight end, right? He doesn't have the speed the Eric Ebron has, but he has everything else.
All the intangibles that you want from a tight end and he's doing something really great.
You know, I think the oil has a chance of becoming a going back to the Pro Bowl again.
But individual efforts isn't going to help this team.
The whole team needs to step up offensively.
Other than the Bondra Ebron drops, Uh, defensively, I'm not fine with it.
And honestly, I'm not.
I'm not upset with the second Ariel.
I think the secondary played pretty well.
If you actually watch most.
Most of those plays.
There were very few really wide open receptions.
Most of them Derek Carr, put the ball on the money where it needs to be.
In all those own zone coverages that you see, quarterbacks were generally defensive backs were generally in the positions that they needed to be in and came up and made the place that they needed to make.
But the problem is the zone.
You play too much zone, a quarterback is gonna pick your partner.
Got a mixed that up.
You gotta even clues.
We have great man coverage corners usual.
Use him that even Phyllis, please.
All right, I understand.
Last year you went zone to keep it simple because it was a new scheme.
We had a lot of young players go to man, play more man beom or 60 40 man rather than a 30 seventies.
You know, come on, that that's my big years.
Because if you don't, the quarterbacks that the Indianapolis Colts play this year are going to chew this secondary up if you play zone all the time, all right, especially this next guy Patrick Mahomes.
All right, you never know.
I tweeted earlier this week.
The Raiders of the trap game is a trap game.
I put up a poll.
Is it a trap game? And it came up Most.
Most Colts fans said no.
I think there's something like 43 toe 57 or something like that saying, no, it wasn't a trap game, but other said yes, absolutely, it was.
It was a big win over Atlanta, sandwiched in between a big game against Kansas City.
This is a trap game because Oakland is not as bad of a team that what people think Derek Carr is a good quarterback Josh Jacobs is a good fucking running back defensively.
They have their problems offensively.
They're not that bad.
They're actually can actually put points up.
So, yeah, that's that's how I see this.
Do you have any questions? Have any other comments? Thank you, Perry asking us end.
I want everyone to Goto, uh, up here in this search more and, uh, search up us in.
Okay, check out all the unwraps force network sportscasters we have.
They do a great job.
They cover lots of different things.
Lots of different teams in the NFL to cover the N B A.
They cut her baseball, they cover wrestling the cover just about any kind of sport you can think of.
So I'm Lawrence.
This is Cole slaw.
And this was the addition of going over the colts lost to the Raiders.
And you? Why? And what to take out of that game.
So until next time, everybody have didn't
