Can't BELIEVE are Countdown's Finally here We're on LeBron James the King himself.
Media Day is just about here.
It's actually I'm recording this the night before media Day.
The season is starting.
We're gonna wrap things up talking about LeBron James and what I'm open for.
Big, big things from LeBron himself.
It's gonna be a fun season, guys.

Look, he came to the Lakers summer before last surprise signing.
I think most of us, myself included, didn't think LeBron would come as the soul superstar.
We thought that Paul George was gonna have to join the Lakers in order to get LeBron to come, but no lo and behold, Paul George went to the Oklahoma City thunder at the time.
Yeah, that didn't last it all.
And LeBron James decided there was some head scratching decisions last season.
We look at the construction of the roster.
Most LeBron James led teams have focused on three point shooting around him to take advantage for how much gravity he has, how much defense is focused on him.
So when LeBron's got the ball, you want the defense to be no, not paying so much attention to everybody else.
So when the brawn drives in the paint, everybody gets sucked in and LeBron's got open shooters to take out two.
Or better yet, those open shooters are able to keep defense is spread out, and then LeBron's got more room to operate inside.
That's been the plan.
The Lakers went away from that it underlay traditionally known as shooters.
Even though Lanson and Rondo did just find shooting percentage wise, they got brought in guys who weren't traditionally known as shooters.
We saw regression from Kyle Kuzma.
Same thing with Brandon Ingram didn't quite get the growth from behind the arc that we wanted there and then Lonzo ball, he only increased his three point shooting a little bit.
So it wasn't a big threat there.
So they're just wasn't the spacing on the floor that the Lakers wanted.
Well, this season, we finally get to see kind of floor spacing that he needs.
Gone are some of these these kind of misfit toys now coming in? You've got Danny Green, who is one of the absolute best three point shooters in the league last season.
Fact, percentage wise, he was second.
You're bringing in Quinn Cook, who is an incredible three point shooter in his own right, over 40% from three for his career trying.
Daniels can knock in threes.
Jared Dudley can can hit him.
Rondo has actually been shooting really well in the the off season.
Working on that.
Frank Vogel was talking about that the other day.
Iran does look great, shooting from deep.
You've got Avery Bradley coming in who could certainly knocked it down.
Alex Caruso shot 48% from three in just 25 games.
Tiny samples, eyes.
He's not gonna do that all season or anything, but still impressive stuff.
Count Cruz has been working on his three point shooting Hopefully, he gets healthy soon.
The bottom line is, just about everybody on this team can now hit threes.
That's gonna be big for LeBron, for giving him the space that he needs to operate and allowing him to create efficient offense for the team.
But, of course, the big big addition for the Lakers this summer was Anthony Davis.
They work out a trade with the New Orleans pelicans.
LeBron now gets what is arguably the best running mate that he has ever had.
Yeah, Dwyane Wade might argue with it, but Anthony Davis is an incredible talent.
Top 567 player in the N B A.
Whatever you want to say, he's one of the very, very best.
He's also been working on his three point shot, so he's gonna be old step out behind the arc.
The question is, how does LeBron combine with Anthony Davis now can the to play off of each other? LeBron is such a smart player, is so cerebral.
His passing is incredible.
Amazing angles that he can take with this fast is he knows where everybody's gonna be on the floor.
I think there especially with Laurent already saying that he would like Anthony Davis to kind of be the focal point of the offense.
That was the report that he went to management and said he wants the offense to run through heading towards 35 years old, and in December he's gonna hit 35.
He recognizes that he's not a young player anymore.
He is heading towards the later stages of his career, which means it's time to pass the torch and credit to LeBron James.
That's not an easy thing to do for a superstar.
For a guy who's been told you're the man for as long as he can remember, he's been the best player on his team.
And now here he is.
He's got Anthony Davis coming.
Hey, this is gonna be your team just to see how it all plays out, though, like when we get the crunch time and in fourth quarter, is LeBron gonna take over? Remember the blueprint last year was gonna be that LeBron had so many ball handlers around him, so many creators around him that he wasn't gonna have to create all the offense himself, and that when push came to shove.
LeBron was creating all the offense himself anyway.
So despite all of this talk about, you know, the team becoming Anthony Davis's squad when the going gets tough, is LeBron gonna go into takeover motivated? Not that that's a bad thing.
If he's doing it efficiently, he and Anthony Davis can really play off of each other.
But I'm curious to see just how much control he seems to Anthony Davis gonna be.
Ah, lot of fun seeing those two play off each other and try to start that.
To strike that balance, I'm imagining there's gonna be some bumps in the road in the early going.
First few months.
It's gonna take them some time, feel each other out, figure out where each one wants to pick their spots.
But ultimately, this could be an absolutely devastating combo for the N B A.
To see LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing side by side numbers wise, you dig into a stats.
LeBron's numbers fall 24.
Statistically, he was just fine when you watch the game, though, the eye test, you could kind of you could see where he's not quite as explosive as used to be.
We didn't see a bunch of chase down blocks like he's known for anything like that.
The explosiveness has has waned, certainly as he's gotten older and that's to be expected.
But he's still making up for it in other ways he's making up for with the steady jumper is free throw an area of concern.
In fact, he was only 67% from the free throw line, which is the lowest of his career or ties the lowest of his career.
To be working on something that we know he wants to improve, but he has has shored up other areas of his game in order to make up for his declining athleticism.
But again, it's only declining so much.
He's still LeBron James.
He still takes incredible care of his body.
He is going to be ready to go and the last thing I want to talk about is the revenge factor here.
This is a LeBron who suffered the worst injury of his career last season, missed a number of games.
It's big part of why the Lakers didn't make the playoffs last season, and so that alone would have LeBron motivated.
But he that I've been saying he's not the best player in the n B a anymore.
No, it's it's quite a letter.
Now it's Jonas onto to Coop.
Oh, it's whoever you want to go to James Harden, LeBron Colonel, that he understands that people are starting to question whether or not he's really the best.
And, yes, I already said This is going to beam or the Anthony Davis show is with his distribution with his passing.
He doesn't have to go out there and drop 30 points tonight or 27 points tonight or or whatever it is, he could be in the more low twenties.
And a D is chipping in another 25 to 30 in the Lakers were gonna be just fine.
LeBron can make a killing just passing off to Anthony Davis, getting him the ball in the right spots.
You know LeBron's gonna be orchestrating the offense that's going to be happening.
We're going to see point LeBron.
So can he set up Anthony Davis? Can he find his teammates? I think in that way we can see a still M V P caliber LeBron without having to take over and completely score all the points for the team.
But it's gonna be a lot of fun to watch the adjustments in progress again.
There's gonna be some bumps early, but LeBron James, motivated, fired up, ready to go out there, improved that.
He's still got it to be considered one of the very, very best in the N B A.
What do you guys think? What are you hoping to see out of LeBron James this season? And don't say just dominates.
Let me know what it is specifically that you want to see out of LeBron James is, um, or effort on the defensive defensive end.
Is it better free throw shooting? By the way, the defensive thing Anthony Davis has already said he's gonna be getting on his case about that.
I'm excited to see how that plays out.
Is it? You want to see LeBron James hit double digit assists or average double digit assists for the first time in in in in his career? What do you want to see? Let me know.
Fired off in the comments down below.
What do you want to see out of LeBron James.
