the Patriots defense has been almost perfect, going all the way back to Super Bowl 53.
Now, as Patriots fans, we haven't had to worry about the Patriots offense, who still finding its way because the defense has been keeping things together in plain, absolutely lights out.
Now, before the season even started, I was talking about how the Patriots offense wouldn't have to carry the load of the team this year, and I continued to stick to the narrative all off season that this is the most balanced team that I have seen in the Brady Belichick era.
So I guess the question is, is their success a product of how good this defense really is? Or is their success a product of an easy schedule? Unfortunately, those Patriots critics out there, and they believe that this defense is just benefiting from playing the Steelers, the Dolphins in the Jets.
And unfortunately, I don't think that we're gonna quiet any critics until week nine, when the Patriots go and face the Baltimore Ravens.
Apparently, facing NFL teams each and every week doesn't prove anything to people who don't know anything about football.
And unless the Patriots start to play teams that are considered considered actual contenders in the NFL right now, they're not going to be happy.
So tonight, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to debunk the myth that this Patriots defense is overrated because of the schedule and prove that the Patriots schedule has nothing to do with how this team is playing right now.
Dear Pats Nation.
What's going on? It's your boy, Ray, and welcome to my little show here on DP and Ladies and jumping a Pats Nation.
It is Monday, September 23rd.
I normally hate Mondays, but it's a vic Doreen Monday, which makes it much more bearable.
Thank you to Everybody is here.
Lie tuning in, Live on sportscaster.
You confine me live on sportscasters Sunday through Thursday.
Thank you for those of you who are watching the replay on YouTube, if you wanna watch the sportscaster show live, I've left the link in the description of the video on YouTube.
Make sure you also do subscribe to my YouTube channel, though, cause you will get exclusive YouTube videos Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I have a brand new channel that launches tonight called the Gridiron Rant, so those of you on YouTube.
I've also left that description, or I've also left that link in the description.
A gridiron and rant is dedicated to talking about the NFL in general, talking about and reacting to the biggest you know stories around the NFL, not just a New England Patriots.
Make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram at DPMNE.
Underscore Ray again.
That's at DP an underscore Ray.
Talk about our New England Patriots because here a DP and we like football.
We like football season and everything that goes with it.
So let me continue on now with the Patriots defense.
The first thing that people need to do is stop acting like the Patriots are facing varsity high school teams each and every week.
Okay, for the last three weeks, believe it or not, whether you want to believe it, the New England Patriots have faced National Football League teams.
There's still facing some of the top athletes in the NFL, so the schedule can be easy and we know that the schedule is easy.
But that's irrelevant.
So how good this Patriots defense is playing right now? Now, look, I get there's married to saying that the Patriots of faced weaker opponents.
It's probably why they've outscored them so drastically.
But when you've watched this Patriots defense play, they have been almost perfect for the entire 180 minutes that the Patriots have played.
Their only blemish on defense is a field goal that they let up in the third quarter against the Steelers.
This Patriots defense hasn't given up a point in 9/4 of football.
Look, the Patriots have allowed a total of 17 points scored against them in three weeks.
Seven of those points were surrendered by the offense when Jared stood him through a pick six against the Jets.
The other seven also came against the Jets, and it was when gonna roll.
Cesky fumbled a punt and muff the punt.
The defense has done nothing but surrender a field goal.
The Patriots defense lead the league in points allowed.
They lead the league in average yards allowed at 199 per game, the next closest team to the Patriots of the San Francisco 40 Niners, who've lined up 283.
3 yards per game.
That means the Patriots, on average, or surrendering 84 yards less in the next best team, the Patriots number one in the past defense or number one in run defense.
And if you've watched them from the Steelers game to the Jets game, this defense actually gets better and better each and every week.
And again, it's fair to say that the Patriots have faced weaker teams collectively, but they faced good talent.
If you believe what everybody says.
Ben Roethlisberger is a Hall of Fame quarterback.
Ben Roethlisberger when 27 for 47 for 276 yards in an interception when he played the Patriots.
In fact, no quarterback has thrown a touchdown versus the Patriots since Patrick Mahomes through his final touchdown in the fourth quarter of the A F C championship game.
The Patriots backup quarterback Jared stood him has Maur passing touchdowns against the Patriots since the Super Bowl than Jared Goff, Ben Roethlisberger, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh Rosen and Luke Falk.
It doesn't matter if you're playing weaker teams.
That is not simple.
It's not supposed to happen in this very pass happy NFL.
Let's also not forget the Patriots faced Lavy on Bell yesterday and leave you and Belle.
Okay, He's not having gigantic numbers as of yet, but he's still having lady on Belle type season so far.
Here was both stats against the Buffalo Bills.
He rushed the ball 17 times for 60 yards.
He caught six balls for 32 yards and a touchdown, giving him 92 all purpose yards.
In his second game against the Browns, he rushed the ball 21 time for 68 yards.
He caught 10 balls for 61 yards, giving him all purpose yards of 129 yards for the game against the Patriots.
Lady on Belle, who's one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL, ran the Bull 18 times for 35 yards.
He caught four balls for 28 yards.
It is all purpose yards for the entire game.
Worse, with 63 yards.
Collectively, the teams the Patriots were playing maybe bottom of the barrel, But there's bright starts.
There's bright spots in stars that can't do anything against this Patriots defense fascination.
The days of the bend, but don't break defense in New England doesn't exist this season.
If you're an offensive coordinator, how do you game plan to beat this Patriots defense.
Now, some people might ask, Is this Patriots defense good enough to shut out the Kansas City Chiefs? Absolutely not.
No defense in the history of football is good enough to shut out the Kansas City Chiefs.
You can't stop, Ah, high octane offense like the Chiefs.
Just like nobody in the past could stop Tom Brady in the offense when you go back to 2007.
But what this defense conducive that no other team in the NFL would be capable of offends down to beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
You don't have to stop Patrick Mahomes.
You can't, but you have to slow them down.
And twice last season, Bill Belichick showed that he knows how to slow down this chief's team, and clearly the defense that he is working with in 2019 is better than that defense that he was working within 2018 last season.
You could name a defensive M V P.
It was stuff on Gilmore.
We knew it. Everybody knew it.
You can't name a defensive MVP this year.
Gilmore is still playing like the best cornerback in the league, worthy of his all pro status.
Jamie Collins will rejoin the Patriots this year.
He looks better than he did before he was traded.
High Tower in Vanoy have been underappreciated.
Michael Bennett has not been flashy, but he's been quietly good if you watch the amount of pressure that he's getting on quarterbacks, and I believe he recorded a sack on Sunday.
Another guy who's been quiet and almost forgotten but he's been actually outstanding is Patrick Chung.
Patrick Chung has been all over the field for the Patriots defense.
This defense is just plain so good.
Guys like Michael Bennett and Patrick Chung are just blending in.
How about that front three of Lawrence Guy Danny Shelton and Adam Bungler? Adam Butler? They've been relentless upfront.
I mean, you almost forget that Jaycee Jackson and Jonathan Jones airplane, and they get a lot of snaps there on the field a lot.
Devin McCourty, the captain one of the longest tenured on the Patriots, are go to safety three interceptions in three games.
You know, you look at the Patriots offense, you can see the weakness.
The offensive line right now is a weakness.
Tight end spot is a is a question mark, and you do that with every single team you go through the defense to go through their offense, you confined weaknesses.
You confined question marks.
You can't find a weak spot on this Patriots defense.
That's why guys Patriot fans need to stop whining.
You know, I'm on Twitter after a 32 14 win.
Ah, 30 to 14 win.
That should have been a shut out.
By the way, they should have allowed.
The Jets scored 14 points, and people are screaming about the run game on the offensive line in the lack of receiver depth.
First of all, the receiver death this year is way better than it was last season.
Secondly, this season isn't all about Brady in the offense, and that's what we're used to his Patriots fans.
Is this being all about Brady in the offense? That's not what this season is about.
This season is about a complete team.
When this season is about the offense, defense and special teams.
It's a team that's gonna win it this year.
It's not gonna be one player to players three players carrying this team to the finish line.
It's gonna be all 53 men on this roster.
Now, whoever gets added to the roster later, I'm just this defense.
Guys has been absolutely out standing.
So the New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski has missed three extra points in missed one field goal.
And it really looks like Pats Nation is getting restless, waiting for him to fix what's ever going wrong.
Or they're waiting for Bill Belichick to go out and just find a new kicker.
On top of that, the Patriots passing game has been clicking, but the run game still hasn't really gotten going after three games, which is like the questions.
Who's to blame the Patriots running back? Where is it? The offensive line is that the play calling with the Antonio Brown saga in New England almost finished for good? What will be the long term impact on the Patriots? And now the Patriots are turning a new page, turning the page in the New York Jets and focusing on the three and oh Buffalo Bills in a game on Sunday where the winner will take sole possession of the A F C East, and people are wondering how the Patriots will play against the up and coming Buffalo Bills.
And tonight I will answer all of these questions and more because every day on Instagram, I put a question box in my story, and I give DPMNE fans the opportunity to ask me questions about the New England Patriots.
And what I do is that come on here to do my best to answer every question you guys give me.
I get a lot of duplicate questions, So even though I might not answer your question directly, I always make sure to answer the subject matter.
Sometimes I don't answer the question directly because I cover it in other parts of my stream.
Now, I'm not saying that I always have the answer to your question, and I'm not saying that I'm gonna give you the answer that you're looking for, but I'll always have some sort of answer for you.
So if you want and ask a question and I have an answer on the stream, you can do that on Instagram.
If you don't have Instagram, you can hit me up on Twitter as well.
My handle for both of those are at DP, an underscore ray.
So the first question I got was when Will the Patriots finally get a new kicker? Look past Nation.
I get your frustration.
Okay, if you guys watch my play by play the last two weeks, you would have seen my reaction as well.
I am getting very frustrated with Stephen Gostkowski.
What stupid mistakes and special team gaffes drive me crazy? Stupid mistakes and stupid penalties accounted in the same thing.
And specialty and gas are probably my biggest pet peeves and football.
And it drives me crazy when it happens.
And on Sunday, what I got to watch was was a missed extra point.
I got to watch his jet ski muff a plan.
I got to watch the Patriots take a 12 men on the field penalty three things that make me slam my hand down hard at that time.
Like I was furious with Gunnar when he must that plant.
But when it comes to Stephen Gostkowski, my answer stays the same.
Who do you replace him with? Right? Right now, there's nobody available.
That's better than Stephen.
A South Sea that's going to give him mortgaging get the Patriots more than he is.
So the guesthouse key, at least for 2019 is going to be the kicker for the Patriots now the Patriots fan.
I get it, and it's frustrating and maddening as it's been.
We need to have a little bit of faith, and I'll admit that.
Kostovski He hasn't been the same since he missed that kick in the 25th.
That extra point in the 2015 18 championship game against Denver Broncos, the point that ultimately led to the Patriots defeat.
Not going to back to back Super Bowls, even though I don't fully put that game on him because that was the first score of the game of the Patriotsoffensive.
Nothing after that.
If Belichick decided it was time to move on from this Kowski, I think it's gonna be during the guesthouse key.
It's going to during the draft, or he's gonna bring in an undrafted free agent, You know? Don't forget guys.
There was a time that Stephen Gostkowski was the best kicker in the NFL and don't wish failure on him because he's gonna be here for a while and we want him back to original form.
And I'm sure that's what Bill Belichick is hoping that he'll get back to original form, and he's gonna be the Patriots kicker for at least the rest of this season.
So let's have it.
Thank you for your question.
The second question is, what's going on with the running game? When will it really get going? You know, football's a really funny game.
Last season, I think we all expected that it was gonna be Tom Brady and the Patriots offense that was goingto air the receivers.
They're gonna get us through the game and get us through the season high octane.
Some of us thought that Brady could convert Cordero Patterson and to being a true receiver.
And suddenly, when we got to the end of the year, the Patriots identity started to change, became a hard Nell's old school run team.
And this season, after three games, they can't run.
They can't get it going.
The truth is, it's not gonna get any better.
And Buffalo it's worked when it could.
But it's not gonna get any better about fooling.
We need to stay patient.
The Patriots put up to 99 yards of Russian against the Steelers 124 verse of dolphin.
Those those are respectable Russian stats.
The Patriot only put up 16 against the Jets, but then the ninth best run defense in the NFL.
Unfortunately for the running game, that really needs a spark.
The Buffalo Bills of the eighth best run defense.
The good news is the pages to put up over 300 yards of passing every game.
And if you watch the game, I'm not upset with Sony. Michelle.
He had no chance against the Jets.
He was met at the line of scrimmage every time he was given that ball.
I also didn't like the play calling.
He wasn't getting pitches.
He kept getting handoff from the shotgun.
He wasn't getting I formation.
It's third and one, and they haven't taken a draw from the hand off.
Is that it? Just bang it up gut, you know? And if you really watch, the team could see what was going on.
Because even on a no gain, Brady was tapping his helmet in a great job because he was just getting that.
The offensive line didn't help him at all.
And I know what you're gonna say breaks.
Berg had looked better running the ball and, you know, I saw the thing on Twitter today, where someone was saying, It's pathetic when Birkhead has more better rushing yards than than Sony Michelle.
But the stats don't get is also being used in the past game.
When Burke is on the field, the defense can't commit to the run.
When Michelle is in, you know it's going to run.
The Patriots tip their hand all season.
If the Patriots really want to open up the run game, it's gonna be a getting Sony Michelle way more involved in the past game, using a better mix of play action with Michelle in the game.
Don't rotate him out so much. Don't bring him out.
Only on first down.
Let him run the ball on second down.
Trust me, the Patriots told the Jets every time they were gonna run.
Makes only Michelle the primary running back.
Make James wait the third down back, you know.
As good as it's been, the Patriots offense in general has been a little too predictable.
Now that could be done by design.
Check the scene with this easy running schedule.
Let's not tip our head, you know it's not tip our hands of the big boys.
Let's not show Baltimore in Kansas City in Cleveland.
If you want to count Cleveland, you know when the Cowboys let's not show them what we have because it's been safe, it's been vanilla.
That's why, after the Patriots had three scores to start the game, you saw things starting to struggle.
Everything just became very predictable.
And I think that as the Patriots open up, the playbook Maur as the Patriots use Michelle in a different way as they do a better mix of running past, you're going to see the running game improve.
Thank you for your question.
What are your final thoughts on Antonio Brown? Look, I said it Friday.
Bill Belichick and fix attitude, but he can't fix Stoop when you look at the whole situation.
The Patriots stood by Brown after two separate allegations Belichick put on field needs ahead of anything else.
The Patriots seemed fine with it.
I want to remind everybody that Antonio Brown was convicted of nothing but three days removed from Friday.
I still can't understand why he sent that group texts.
Even his lawyer, in his statement, basically rolled his eyes at Antonio Brown, and from that time for the media firestorm was unstoppable after that.
You know, those reports came out that Robert Kraft was furious over the text, and I'm sure that that had nothing to do with the content of the tax, because I'm just positive, the Patriots told him.
Shut up and stay low.
That's the stupid.
That's the stupid that they couldn't fix.
It's stupidity now, those tax worn, intimidating, like the media said.
But they were harassing, at least annoying to the accuser.
You know, the techs weren't to his original accuser there to hiss.
Second accuser who wasn't seeking legal action.
He weren't seeking money of Antonio Brown would have just went home and went to bed like everybody else.
What we'd be doing today is breaking down how we played against the Jacks instead of this.
Yeah, and for the rest of the season, for the next five years, Antonio Brown is gonna be the fuel to use against the Patriots and Pats Nation.
We just got to ignore it.
As for the on field product, the Patriots will plan around Antonio Brown's absence, and everything will be fine.
Brady needs a tight end when will balance check will get him one.
Ah, Bill Belcher is gonna get Tom Brady a tight end.
Week five when Ben watching returns.
Now, please, please stop asking me about tight ends.
We all know we've just been waiting until Week five.
From the moment the news broke that Ben Watson was gonna be suspended for the 1st 4 weeks of the seasons.
How many times that I say we just need to survive the 1st 4 weeks we saw that the Brady Watson connections still exists in the preseason.
We saw that they still gotta going the Patriots or three, you know, without a true pass catcher.
Too tight end position.
And I'm growing frustrated, listening to people talking about the Patriots receiver death.
A fresh, healthy Watson takes the field.
Week five burst of Washington Redskins, which is the perfect angel.
Acclimatizing Ryan is on Mount O'clock.
Lacoste have both made a couple of long catches when they've needed, They both blocked very well.
And what's Watson returns will be back to a balanced, tight end situation, and for two games, the Patriots have only had one tight end.
Lacoste was inactive week one and Week three, cause he's dealing with all these multiple injuries and guys look, Watson's not gonna come in and have like a rob grand couple.
But what he will do is it will offer Brady another option outside of Edelman, Gordon and Door set and James White.
So chill with the trade talk for tight ends and the past will need a tight end.
Their tight end is coming.
You know what? On that subject, I'd like to take this opportunity to address something with the great members of fascination.
There was once a time that after a Patriots win, I would go on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, and I go on there to celebrate the Patriotsvictory with all of fascination.
But really, ever since Super Bowl 50 to the amount of negativity towards this team from Patriots fans is maddening.
And it frustrates me to no end.
You know yesterday, instead of enjoying and relishing in the fact that the Patriots are undefeated throughout the 1st 3 games of the season, I'm getting paraded and I mean paraded with Patriot fans telling me everything wrong with the Patriots.
But if a Chiefs fan comes out and says the exact same thing about the Pats the same people complaining about.
The Patriots are quick to dismiss them as nothing but jealous haters.
But those same fans were upset.
Upset, aboutthe so called haters are the first people to criticize the Patriots, and you can't have it both ways, guys, this could go down as the best Patriots team to ever take the field.
And even if they don't go 16 to know this season, this team could still surpass the 2007 possibly the 2014 which are both universally recognized.
The best Patriots team to take the field.
The New England Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions and been to the last four Super Bowls in five years.
You know, in order for a team to be successful, that can't get used to winning.
And the Patriots, the team and the players haven't got used to winning, and they're going through The grind of the season is if they've never been there before.
As Patriot fans, we need to enjoy the moment and enjoy this team because some people's expectations are getting so high now that winning isn't good enough anymore.
Here's the reality.
The Patriots are gonna win some ugly football games this season.
They may even lose some ugly football games this season.
But stop talking about this Patriots team like they're done.
Stop taking this Patriots team for granted.
And stop with this B s about the Patriots needing help.
Anyways, I digress on that final question the night thoughts on the Buffalo Bills.
It's gonna be our toughest game of this.
It's gonna be the Patriots toughest game of the season so far, that's for sure.
Um, it doesn't mean it's not a very winnable game for the Patriots.
Ah, but it's really funny, because during the off season, when everybody was pumping the Jets tires, I was asked during a live stream, I want to say, back in March, and somebody asked me who was the best whore who did.
I see as so the next best team in the A F C East, or who is the up and coming her or who could one day challenge the Patriots Day F, C East and I stood pretty firm that I believe that was the Buffalo Bills, and I believe that they were the upcoming team in the NFC East.
Ah, lot of people rip me apart for that Bills fan or Jets fans.
For me apart, Patriot fans rip me apart.
But you know what? Right now they're three, you know, and they look like the best team in the NFC East next to the Patriots.
Fortunately for us and the Patriots, the Buffalo Bills aren't there yet.
I think that Josh Alan, if he can get his head together, he can be better than Sam Darnold.
But right now, he's too erratic, and the Patriots defense is gonna take total advantage of it.
Um, you know, the Bills have made huge improvements this season, but right now I still see them as a 500 team.
I don't see them above 500 this year.
I know that Buffalo Bills fans are excited.
They think that this is the season they're going to return to the playoffs.
Maybe it's here.
They finally win a Super Bowl.
It's not and really know a F C East team will take that next step until the Patriots really let them.
Um, will I take the bells as lightly as I did the Jets and the Dolphins? No.
Am I worried for the game on Sunday.
Not even close to being worried.
Um, and I'll get more into Buffalo as this week goes on and why I'm not worried about the Buffalo Bills.
So thank you to everybody who sent me a question.
I hope that I was able to combine enough for the information to answer everybody's questions.
Um, there were a couple I didn't get to because I put the post out too late last night.
But I will answer them into moral stream.
Remember, you can send me those questions on Twitter and Instagram and you know, any time you like, um, considering that everything I do with DP and is on social media and you guys are the reason I am where I am today, the more I can involve the fans, the better on by you guys asking questions and dictating the content of my streams, the more interactive and hopefully the more Taylor to this to you.
So thank you to everybody who's sent me those.
Everybody who sent me those questions.
All right, guys, it's now time for the gridiron rant, and it's that time of the night when I steer my attention away from the Patriots and touch upon some of the other emerging stories in the n f. L.
Don't forget that, Um, I have a brand new YouTube channel launching to night called The Gridiron Rant.
And just like my DP and Sports talk, Paige will get exclusive video Friday, Saturdays and Sundays on the Gridiron Talk or Gridiron Rant.
I apologize in tonight's edition of the gridiron rant presented by DP In Sports Talk, we will look at the Jalen Ramsey situation unfolding in Jacksonville.
And what exactly the Jaguars are going to do now that Ramsey has essentially called in sick for practice this week? Jacksonville has showed a desire to keep Ramsey, but that is starting to look more bleak before we get into the jail and Ramsey saga.
Let's take a look at some of the developing stories around the NFL and tonight's gridiron quick hits.
So the New York Giants, they were smiling ear to ear yesterday after their 2019 6th overall draft pick, Daniel Jones, led the charge and will the Giants 2 32 31 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Unfortunately for the Giants, their smiles probably faded this morning when it was determined that their playmaking star running backs of Guam, Barclay, has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and will miss the next 4 to 8 weeks.
Ah, the emergence of Jones.
What the Jones probably gave the Giants faithful some hope.
But without Barkley for the next little wild, the Giants pushed to be competitive in the NFC East and stay in the playoff picture has become a much greater task for them.
Our boy, Antonio Brown, has the attention span of a goldfish and quickly makes decisions without thinking them through.
Ah, Brown was cut by the Patriots on Friday after texting ah, text messaging that he sent one of his accusers, became public and started a media firestorm on Friday.
Brown was thankful that the Patriots hopeful for his journey on Saturday, he called out Robert Kraft on Sunday, and now he's going back to school.
On Monday, Brown Brown, who on Sunday said that he was done with the NFL and needed a new opportunity and after the hex have fell of all teams announced.
Our leagues announced that they are have no interest in Antonio Brown.
I guess Antonio felt he better enhances education, Brown announced on his Instagram account this morning that he's enrolled back at Central Michigan, where he played college football.
It is my understanding that at this time, Brown's courses will be entirely online.
This point, I don't even know what to say about Antonio Brown anymore.
I guess I'm happy that he's using his time productively and, you know, from all of us here DP and we wish him the best of luck.
A lot of people counted out the Carolina Panthers yesterday when they face the airs on the Cardinals in Arizona.
More because Cam Newton was ruled out with a foot and shoulder shoulder injury.
Ah, but some people surprised the Panthers walked away as winners, with Kyle Allen leading the team at quarterback.
And unfortunately for the Panthers, it looks like he'll have to do it again, because the Panthers have already ruled Newton out for their Week four game against the Houston Texans.
And there's also a tte this time no timetable set for Newton's return because it looks like it could go beyond Week four, and that something will definitely keep an eye on because we have no idea when Cam Newton will be back.
But now I want to talk about this Jalen Ramsey saga that's going on in Jacksonville right now.
And there's really been like a revolving door of information regarding the Jaguar star cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
News broke after their week to loss of the Texans that he was demanding a trade.
Jacksonville, rightly so wanted to take their time.
Get the trade right, didn't want to just give him away, wanted to make sure they were setting things up.
They're asking a very steep price.
The rumored is to first round draft picks.
The buzz around the NFL, at least on Twitter and the fan bases, was unbelievable.
It's not often that a player like Ramsey is available mid season, and, you know, we heard a lot of teams names floated around.
The Chiefs were early front runners.
Then we heard reports that the Baltimore Ravens offered a first pick, a second pick and our first round pick, a second round pick and a player.
The Eagles and the Ravens seem to be the two teams that could benefit the most from Ramsey, and I went as far on Saturday is tweeting a prediction that he goes to fill your Baltimore.
I also assumed at that point nothing would happen until Monday.
And then, suddenly, news kind of broke on Sunday that Jacksonville actually wanted to keep him in.
The owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shad Khan Ah, once Ramsey remain in Jacksonville and that he is willing to make him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.
And then that was it.
And then Sunday night it looked like they were doing everything they could to keep Ramsey, and I literally went to bed Sunday night, figuring that he wasn't going anywhere Now that was a lot to take in and a lot to follow and a story that just keeps changing over and over again and again.
Like I said, I went to bed Sunday night and thought, OK, Ramsey's not leaving.
I don't to follow this story anymore.
He's gonna stay in Jacksonville did probably some drama, but we'll be okay.
When I woke up this morning, literally turned over, looked at an alert on my phone and read the Highline.
Ramsey tells JAG quarters he's sick and not may not practice all of this week.
Now I have read more things and saw more on this today and I was watching, you know, like the NFL never connect anything.
Apparently, he is at the facility being treated by doctors for a flu.
But this report that he's sick and can't practice the whole week changes the entire narrative.
And this is really starting to feel like the Earl Thomas situation with Seattle last season.
And I'm just waiting for some point this season that Ramsey is flipping off the JAG sideline.
Look at one point, you could have said There's two things that could fix a situation like this money for winning.
I'm sure Ramsey had to be optimistic by the play of Gardner mentioned the other night, and then cons offer to come in and make him the highest paid cornerback in the NFL.
The pieces are there right now to resolve this situation and come to a resolution together, but at this point, I think it's just, you know, I wonder, I guess.
Has it gone too far? Ramsey, unfortunately, now has problems with the coaching staff in the front office, and I think if you're gonna keep Jalen Ramsey on the team, you would probably have to cut ties with Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin Would con be willing to do that and set that type of president on his team? You know, let's say he went crazy.
Let's say conman crazy.
Anita just got to keep Jalen Ramsey, who would coach the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jaguar is moving forward.
Who would want to be in the front office moving forward, knowing that the players have full control, maybe a Pittsburgh Steeler situation.
So I see that is a highly unlikely scenario, which again bears the question.
Is there any way to fix the issues between Jacksonville on Ramsey? And I don't know.
I'm not that I'm not a person right now.
Who's blaming Jalen Ramsey, and there's a lot of people on Twitter that they're blaming Jalen Ramsey. I'm not.
I'm looking us as both parties Tom Coughlin and Doug Marone and Jalen Ramsey being at fault here.
You know, you'd have to think that there wasn't any way to make this work now.
And the fact that Ramsey is now avoiding practice just tells me that this is getting closer in nearer to the end.
Who knows? Maybe, as I'm talking, there's a trade happening.
I know right before I went live.
I went on Twitter and made sure that there was no talk about a trade happening because their teams all over the league were willing to give this premier talent a shot.
But if you're Jacksonville, you have to keep your price high and stick to it because you need to show the rest of your team that you're committed to improving the roster.
Giving away Jalen Ramsey for nothing doesn't show them that you're committed to keeping this team competitive.
And it also sets that the next time of players on, you know, upset.
It doesn't deter them just to walk away from the team.
Because you gave away Ramsay.
You set your price, you've got to stick to it.
And Ramses needs understand you're trying to trade them.
But you're not gonna give him away.
You know, for Jacksonville, there's a lot at stake here, and I'm just really, really, really interested to see how this is all gonna play out in the end.
