I'm seeing some some questions County saying isn't it Dodgers off our day off? Yes, it is.
It is also Walker Bueller's Day off.
Funny enough, but we're here every Thursday is what we d'oh, We're loving were caring.
Um, we're here for you.

All right, With all that said, we're gonna take a, like the 22nd break to get Bill on the line.
Sorry, guys. Okay, give us a second.
We have Ah, Bill Plunkett, Of course.

And we I think we cite you about 180,000 times a week.
But thanks for joining us.
It goes wild Bill.
It's been a little while high doing Bill.
You cite me via your digital subscription, Correct? Yes, I did. I did.
I did get my okay.
99 cents for four weeks. Guys.
Just keep making new e mails that cover my salary.
So we're here somehow.
Unbeknownst, all of us were here heading into the final week of the 2019 regular season.
Like, where did baseball go.
How did that help? Please believe me, it did not feel quick from personal.
It's definitely from you.
It was 100 years ago.
I was in Glendale way.
Well, we drink usually when we do this, so it helps us feel a lot better.
But it's been It's been weird baseball of late.
We have openers.
We have what, 300 pictures per game? Four hours for nine innings.
Do you deliver baseball? It's It's ah, different animal.
Yeah, thankfully, if it's the last season of this nightmare.
But, uh, do you like this version even slightly? No, Definitely not.
Four hours is not my idea of a well played game.
I can I could just hear the groans from the press box last night.
Oh, you actually, yes, I was there we go here, the group Gary on the Twitter cat.
You could feel it coming, though, in that brilliant work.
Like you know, you have to have a story written in case it ends in the ninth.
And then you just you know that you just wasted your time and you're gonna have to rewrite all.
So, yeah, there were a lot of growing Yeah, that's what it is.
That's you know, that's the nature of the business.
It's it's a horrible ***** goddess.
I think that's what the what? What I'm gonna go with at least, but like the only guy I say this to Ah, when I speak to you know, college journalism or communication classes if you cover baseball, you can not be afraid of deadline is just every night, every night recover football, you might be on deadline.
You know, twice a year they might have a Monday night game for something in baseball you're doing at night after night after night.
You cannot be afraid of deadline.
Well, you also can't be afraid of, thankfully, the end of this version of baseball coming up.
You got about a week of the tortured left.
The path of the postseason seems pretty clear.
Of course, Dodgers have clinched as of today.
Magic number, I think, is what five haven't seen what was found.
It was down to 33 or four last night.
Is that what it was? It was low.
Let's just say it was a little slow.
That's all we need to know.
It's a slow, So it's all the way down.
How? Look, a lot of people put the importance of home field advantage in the playoffs.
How important do you really think it is for the Dodgers this year, though I think it's more important than they are treating it.
I do think it's important.
I think if you look first of all, I think they're, what, 57 21 at all? Yeah.
And you know, do the math real quick on the road there, What would it be? 40.
And, uh, yeah, it's a lot of one day.
Hey, let's pull up the stats.
Let's just say they're They're really, really good at home and only good on the road.
So wouldn't you rather play where you're really, really good? Oh, yeah.
And then And if you break down some of the individuals like one rule, Yeah, Rue and Walker Bueller are both tremendously, uh, heavy on the home split.
Even Clayton Kershaw is better at home.
But that's I mean, I think most pitchers air probably better in their home park unless they're pitching for the Rockies.
So, yeah, all of those things.
I think all of those things are worth fight before No, I don't think they should, you know, slap a walking boot on Justin Turner's ankle and make him play third in it.
But I would not be messing around with pitching as much as they are.
You know, just if to see things, to find out how Tony Gonsouland looks in the fourth inning and and all the stuff they've done the last couple of days, I I thinkit's Maur.
There's more value in it than they're placing on it.
Definitely, It feels like they're kind of screwing about a little bit when you look at the lineup building the structure and who they're bringing in when they're bringing him in.
And I could definitely a lot of the frustration from fans, like during the games from it.
Maybe this week against Tampa Bay.
I think this was the Dodgers way of telling Tampa.
Look, you guys started this.
This is the right look.
This is what it feels like when you do this to people.
The one that called trolling that is trolling the people of Tampa to let them know the openers dumb and shots at different kinds of smoke.
It's like Johnson's gonna start.
Nope, Casey Sadler is going to start for some reason, Yeah, I will say this.
I I respect him to the end of the earth.
He works immensely hard and is has the energy for this Mnuchin More than I can imagine after 30 years.
But the great Ken Ger nick of MLB dot com his head exploded the last couple days with those changes just really, Yeah, the fact that they changed them so close to game time.
Yeah, he he did not.
Did not appreciate bless up for Kenny G over there.
So that's right.
We're seeing people.
We got Ryan here in the stream, staying home.
You see the Astros, you see the Yankees, and this is I wouldn't say this is my counterpoint on the home field advantage, but obviously the Dodgers had it in 2017 against Houston.
It didn't make a difference, right? And that's that's the argument Andrew Friedman makes when I when I bring it up to him.
Our Dave Roberts, even though we did it both ways, still got the World Series.
But wouldn't you much rather have you know if it comes down to a Game seven? They had to go to Milwaukee and win a Game seven and NLCS last year.
Wouldn't you rather have that at home? Absolutely.
Yeah, yeah, they've done it both ways or yeah, they had it.
They didn't win the World Series.
It's it's making giving yourself the best possible chance.
And that means that chance is at home.
And it's not just, uh, the Game seven.
You know that you get at home.
It also makes all the travel easier to you got the home field advantage.
You only go to the other part once in the middle of the series.
And that simplifies things, too.
I think it simplifies your pitching arrangements, too.
If you know, you know, you know you're getting the first to hear and you're going to come back when those guys are ready to pitch again, you're gonna be back home.
So I think there's a lot more value in it than, uh, then they're treating it, Really? D'oh on that.
That's not just because I want my travel or is it that, you know? Yeah, it was a factor.
I mean, that's definitely reasonable.
We have Ah, wait.
Guess Chet Kroll is asking about a 2 to 3 to format what we're talking about. Gary.
He's asking about the 23 to 4 men in the world. Siris.
Would you want home field advantage with 2323 format? You know, that's what he's asking.
I think that's the way it is.
And what would you want? You? Would you rather it's 2 to 111 which I think the n b a good for a while.
Trying to kill me with their airplane flights? Yeah, you know all the receipts at the end of October, we don't want Bill o N B.
A. Was involved with the radio on.
If they play, say, the Yankees in the world, Siris, Good Lord, count up the miles to 211 one.
That's that's Ah, that's a nightmare, even though that's a serious everybody wants.
And it's funny, I've been messing around with people's like Imagine how, how, like how much baseball is frightening.
The idea of it either going from like the potential of Dodgers against Yankees in the World Series or like the Braves against I don't know, Oakland twins weigh like there is all the money and none of the money.
Yeah, fun s Oh, I don't know how the Yankees get there. I mean, good.
It's the injuries that they've had.
Now Domingo Herman is not gonna be available.
You know, they thought Dylan pretend, but Kansas was coming back.
And then he pitches what, One inning? And he's dying? Yeah, they are hurting.
Yet somehow they're able Thio.
I I really think they sold their soul toe, have a decent season this year because there's no reason for them to be good.
It's amazing starting pitching.
Of course, he had Stanton hurt.
What for all of like, are available for nine games.
I think he's only played, it's ah, it's a little wild and how good the A L East remains with these awful half of Tampa Bay Rays.
But, yeah, I'll give you 11 reason that there is good as they are Baltimore Orioles.
They get the play they have seen 19 times.
Whatever it was, that helps when he gets a square off against a Little League team.
That's the team that made Kenley good again for, But before we get into Kenley, it's going to kind of be part of this is a little like I'm gonna call it the scale of worry because I'm not very creative on a scale of 1 to 10 how worried are you about the upcoming topics here? So, Justin Turner, of course. The ankle.
In the subsequent timing of the bat, How worried are you about J.
T? Well, I see I'm not worried at all, because whatever happens, I write about it, so I'll play this as How worried should you be? Uh, I'll go.
I'll go as high as a six.
Maybe a seven with Justin.
This this this played out a lot longer than it was advertised to us. Yeah.
You know, uh, when I talked to him in the clubhouse when they clinched that night, Yeah, the way he explained it was it was a spring ligament in his ankle.
Now I I'm not a doctor, although I believe I deserve a medical degree after writing about injuries were all these three.
But that sounds different than just a mild spring. The ankle.
To me, it seems like there's Maur to it and and I immediately go to the Curt Schilling bloody sock days and I'm sure that was a much more damaged ligament.
Do you have, uh, you feel at this point there's any any danger of him not being on the D s roster? Uh, no, I don't think I don't think we can go to that extreme yet.
But if you'd asked me 10 days ago, I didn't think he was gonna be sitting out 10 games.
Oh, it has played out a lot longer than it was advertised on.
And that's what makes me think you should be a little worried.
So going along the same vein here with injuries, of course.
Max Muncy coming back from that wrist injury hitting 100 with one extra base.
It is there enough time for him to ramp it back up, or is he still hurting? What do you think? I will give him a little bit of a pass, because ah, when he came back, he got to face Noah Syndergaard Shake up the ground, Jack.
Angular. Blake Snell.
So the first handful of games we're not eating Ah, and I do think he has, you know, nine games left to get t get his swing back to get his timing back.
So I would put that like a two on the worry scale, maybe even a one.
So before we start building your division, Siri's roster and I think I really feel like the division series roster is position players.
Why is it set? Because we know Verdugo is gonna be off, actually, on Verdugo.
Uh, how do you feel on the scale again? About his ability to even return and contribute in the championship series? Knock on wood that we do get there.
I think it sounds to me it's highly unlikely.
I just mean he hasn't played since August 4th or fifth.
Yeah, So by the time you're talking about an NLCS, it's gonna be five weeks since he faced the major league pitching.
But he got over gonna what, like five at bats against Great Lakes? Picture.
It's right, rookies.
You're going to send him to the stay hot camp and Camelback Ranch to face.
You know, Jimmy Garcia and whoever else doesn't make the B s roster.
So guy does give up a lot of solo show.
Thank you, Theo over Gaza will be very confident.
Yeah, I don't I don't know.
I don't uh, I think if I'm the Dodgers, I plan on not having him.
And if somehow he plays his way into the the picture again, Okay, then we'll decide then.
But I would plan on not seeing him again.
All right, so on the confidence side of things, obviously, we know we're kind of ah, wavering in confidence when it comes to Kenley Jansen.
Everybody's gone wild on Kenley, spilling the cyber ink on him.
But what's your realistic scale of worry on, Kenley? It was Was this last or prior toe Wednesday? Were those three games a sign of what we should expect? Or was that an outlier? Ah, I'm afraid it was probably closer to an outlier than locked in that he wanted to think he waas.
I've I've heard Kenley tell me.
I don't know how many times eight or 10 times this year that you figured it out, that he had salt it.
And yes, I think every time he was being honest, I really think he thought he had found the answer.
And, you know, this was what it was gonna be.
I just think we have to.
I understand that he is not 2017 friendly.
And he's never gonna be that guy again, does he? You know, Does he recover some of it? Yeah, some of it.
I had a Really? This is This is off.
But I had a really interesting conversation with no more about this.
At some point in the last month, this thing was, uh if you understand the physics of how the eyeball works and how vision works When a ball is coming at a hitter at 90 plus miles an hour, the I can only track it so fast.
And there is a zone as it nears home plate where your eye loses it.
It's like a little like going behind the dark side of the moon.
You can't you can't track it all the way to home plate, no matter how hard you try.
And his theory was that Mariano Rivera's cutter worked so well because that's where it moved.
That's where the movement Waas was in that when it went behind them, the moon on the dark side.
And that's why you you could guys could never square it up, even even though they knew it was coming.
I just couldn't track it that last stretch.
And when he said that My response.
Waas I wonder if Kenley losing velocity means that the ball no longer moves in that dark area and instead it moves sooner, giving a hitter better time to react to it, to gauge it.
Ah, and squared up more.
So that was our little scientific theory.
We we kicked around one day during BP.
Yeah, I watched the do***entary on Netflix called Fastball and It's There you go.
Three great do***ent is 396 milliseconds for yeah, average baseball to travel from the release of a hand to to to the glove.
So, um, I think you're on It is just that everybody knows that he throws a cutter 90% of the time.
That's a huge part of it.
When he came into the league, the scouting was different, right? And you could maybe get away with things that now not only did they know that he's gonna throw the cutter, they know exactly which quadrant he's going to try and throw it in, and they know how much the spin rate is.
So so they know how much to expected to break all those kind of things are so much more sophisticated now.
Then, when he first came into the league so and he has tried to incorporate a slider, he's throwing his two seam fastball more frequently now, too.
I even early in the year he was even goofing around with a splitter out in the outfield and that he joked about it being in the in the lab, on Dhe.
It has stayed in the lab.
Yeah, good reason.
Along with Curtis, just change up every spring.
Last night, he got cheated out of that slider.
That's lighter for the three.
But even so, that's one that's one pitch.
You still have to be able to get over that.
You don't give up a single joy or it was a tough for someone recovering.
Yeah, the tough setback, you know.
You know, maybe the Dodgers need Ah road field advantage because Kenley appears to pitch better on the road, this least of recent kind.
You look up the numbers he throws much better to Russell, Martin, Yeon Hee and Rue have really exaggerated splits throwing to Russell Martin, and I'm not sure what that's about, but yeah, that was something that we've kind of heard the murmurs about.
We heard the whispers about of people.
Oh, well, you know, I don't think anybody's directly calling out Will Smith about anything, any of his potential and even skills.
And in receiving he was drafted because he was an except exceptional receiver.
But do you? What do you feel on that? What? What's your take on? Ah, on Will Smith, Kind of not jelling well, with the starting pitching.
I just think he's a rookie catcher, and that is the toughest position on the field nowadays.
And the Dodgers make it even more difficult, more demanding with the, you know, the game planning and the scouting and the, uh, all the preparation that they require Catcher.
That's why they I had him follow the team for a month last year without playing a single game.
You're being on the roster to kind of, you know, it was a good way for the shock.
It mean that realizing just how much they were gonna expect of him, I don't think that I think Will Smith is gonna be an outstanding big league catcher.
I don't think there's any question about that but it takes time.
And you know, you can only fast track the learning curve so fast.
Of course, he's 24.
You had hoped he'd have a little bit of he has something around around the league.
It the best catchers, they don't they don't come up.
Ah, and you know a 21 and suddenly hit the ground running, right? I know there were the Buster Posey camps and then might have been a little overheated.
Yeah, I'll take also little credit on that one.
I was like, Oh, I get it.
And then what? Mean His hard contact rate, this hard hit rate stills there, But he's doing a lot of Adam balls.
Course he's striking out a whole bunch of strike out.
Really? Yeah, yeah, hopefully figures it out.
That or the Dodgers just can't have a catcher that can catch and continue his job into September.
He's just he's following the footprints of our beloved, fallen UN beloved.
He has money, grand doll, So don't don't go so fast.
I think Smith will be the primary catcher get throughout the playoffs.
I think they still have plenty of faith in him.
But there are certain guys that if if Russell Martin isn't buying the plate for everyone of Hon gin ruse, postseason starts, that, that is, that will be a shot.
I mean, there's no reason for them to go against the numbers.
Yeah, you know, that would just be stubborn.
You guys hearing it here first.
Austin Bards Game seven, World Series Walk off home run.
38 in a meeting.
It's got to go that you really hope that the veterans mesh together and you do get Russell Martin in there.
But another one.
Another veteran guy, this guy, Of course, an arm is somebody that a lot of this this roster is. Really.
Ah, I would say it's reliant on on what's gonna happen with Rich Hill.
He's pitching through some discomfort, but it doesn't seem like it as bad as it was there in Baltimore.
Uh, they're back to the scale of 1 to 10.
How do you feel about Richie? Um, shoes.
I don't think it's realistic to think he can pitch with a you know, whatever M. C l.
Whatever degree of damage there is to that thing.
Watching him try and throw in the outfield, you know, changing his foot position, you know, not landing on it when he follows through just all kinds of stuff.
That delivery just does not.
It does not make me feel like Oh, yeah, He can figure this out.
I guarantee you, he will try like hell to riches credit, even though he has a very poor college education Anaconda mission.
But I give him credit.
He will try everything he possibly can to get out there.
People who think, Oh, he's injured crowing missed so much time with injuries and the blister.
And now that you don't get it, you really did.
He is. He is not over.
You know, when the flexor tendon flared up in his elbow, he's not just hanging out for the next couple months and cool.
I don't have to pitch, You know, that is not how it works.
He's not running to the bank on the 15th of the month with his Jack sample Ira, This one. Yeah.
Anybody who criticizes players for injuries, just it really off the mark.
But all that being said, I don't think the Dodgers could afford to take that chance, you know? Okay, you started next week, and he looks like he may beacon pitch with these different mechanics.
And then you send them out there for a game four in the first round and two batters in the same thing happens that have been involved more? No.
Your bullpen that you've probably used in games 12 and three has to come up with eight innings of, you know, in a playoff game.
I just don't think you can take that risk unless you kind of flipped the script a bit.
And you have him as all of a sudden.
Now he's the middle reliever.
You throw their Ugo that for you, you start him.
But you start him.
And with no plans of going longer than two innings, and then you go to Gonsouland, and then, you know, he gives you two or three, and that puts you into the, you know, into the 5th 6th inning, and then you start using your bullpen the way you normally would.
You have a leader if you don't have a lead.
And, you know, there could be some some strategic value in that, not just the ritual.
Lefty Tony Gonsouland righty.
You know, problem for the other team, but also Rich Hill snapping off curveballs for two innings from from the left side, and then Tony Gonsouland throwing harder and different pitch mix.
And I think that's what the last two days were about.
About finding out if some of these guys can work in that kind of Ah ah, an environment or in that kind of a setup, Yeah, I think we can all agree, though, that, uh, changing up your pitching mechanics to compensate for an injury.
You know, two weeks.
That is not exactly comforting.
And that's kind of been echoed throughout.
We know Jesus way want only 39 guys. Come on.
You know what he's set in his ways, right? It's not just not just that, but this is a guy who just came back for a flexor tendon injury, and now you're gonna compromise their change, your mechanics and maybe the extra stress on the elbow again.
And it's it's a noble venture on his part, but I just don't I don't see it working very well.
Kind of just staying on that real quick.
I'll just give you a couple seconds on this when he is 39 next spring, he will definitely not be a spring chicken.
He's kind of the 40.
But by the time spring camp rolls around next year, what is? What is this future look like? What do you think? Because, I mean, we know he's a gamer, wants to be around.
But yes, the body mind is willing, but the body is weak.
Will pick up the number on his back.
He'll go till 44 in his mind.
Yeah, I've joked with him that he's played for so many different teams that he could go on the old timers circuit and just pitch in each of his old teams all summer long and stay in shape that way.
Yeah, I think his future is a one year contract.
That's that's his future.
It and I could see it being the Dodgers.
I mean, from his point of view, he's not going to take a deal to go somewhere and pitch for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Just great pitching in one of the Pirates right now.
Anyways, that's a bad place to be.
I don't think he wants to go somewhere where there's no hope of getting to the postseason, and I don't think a team with no hope of getting to the postseason, they're only marginal.
Hope wants a guy that they can't count on for 30 starts.
I mean, he he's a luxury that the Dodgers can afford.
You know, they consign him for a year and say, Listen rich, if you only make 15 starts between injuries, that's fine.
Let's just try and make sure you're healthy and good to go during the post.
Sees in, you know, And then they could mix in.
You know, the dust and maize and Tony Council ins and whoever the next wave starting pitching types, you know to take up the rest of his spots in the rotation.
Selection of the doctors can afford it.
Yeah, the next generation of starting pitchers is right on the rise in.
Some of them are already here, So if you have that guy that could bridge that gap for a year, another year after that, who knows? Whatever it is, I think you kind of take that from when you take what you can get out of him, even if it's like a Chase Utley kind of rule with him.
If it ends up being something like he does, he does have a very positive influence on that pitching.
His personality is knowledge.
All that kind of stuff has value.
So roster wise, despite despite his poor college, one more shot in there, one more shot roster wise.
We're going from from against time with the young guys.
We're going from the old guy into the young guys here.
Uh, Meharg Johnson.
If it if it comes down to let's say, somehow ritual proves himself, it's probably come down to either may or gone silent on the roster.
Who in your mind deserves it? And who do you think they'll actually run with? I think Johnson has has pitched better, has shown ah, better adaptability, which might be required for whatever role they have.
Uh, I think Dustin Maze, you got better stuff and maybe a higher upside in his future.
I'm not sure if he's the guy you want right now, though.
I think counseling might have the edge, so this one might be tougher, but we've gone through all the tough stuff here is can't them.
I need a guarantee to playoff roster spot.
Oh, yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely.
And do not sleep on how How, uh, important.
He will be in high leverage.
They're not gonna carry Kenta Maeda to be a long reliever.
They will carry.
Um I ate a to B in the back end of the bullpen along in similar roles to Baez and Joe Kelly.
But I I joke with the Japanese reporters that he's gonna be a ruby.
Not, you know, not a looky only faces lefties.
I think he's gonna be a rude you only faces right had happened the way they have absolute best usage for him, too.
Yes, and that's the way they used him two years ago in the Post.
And no more than one inning.
Even though he's out, he can't.
That should not be going multiple innings.
That's not what they need from him there.
They're not going to carry him as a long reliever.
It will be in the back.
But Dave on the phone right now, I got two words for you.
More more roster for you staying on the bullpen to I mean, Kel, Eric is in God.
What about between the, uh, what say between Ferguson, Floro Garcia and sadly because in my mind, Sadler stands head and shoulders above the other three.
But that's just, uh, I don't think any of, well, maybe Floro. Probably.
I would say Floro has the edge of that group unless they decide that whoever their first round opponent is, there's a certain match up.
They need another lefty than you get Ferguson.
They'll need a you know, the ground ball divers strike.
I don't know whatever matchup thing that they they think they need.
That's the guy who will get it you're making.
You're making our producer cry over there.
But the idea of Flora peeing on the Ross A.
You know he's fine.
He at the I personally feel he's they find regular season pitcher.
Yeah, that he's that depth guy you could have on there for all season.
But as we've seen time and time again with Dave Roberts, he'll use these guys all season.
And then when it comes to two playoff time, especially championship series of world Siris, his window titans and he only goes to about two or three guys out of Penn and then they get burned I got news for you, that's what everybody.
But we're here to complain about the Roberts.
That's what the fans want.
I personally a fully loaded true guys, won 385 games in his 1st 4 years for division titles, and Elsie has followed by back to back world Siris for crying out loud.
He knows what he's doing.
Yeah, I had actually brought up the other day that, you know, before 2017 the Dodgers in L.
A had 200 or more win seasons, and they're on the verge of having to in three years.
So when people look at that crab Oh, yeah, I forgot.
It is good to win. We forgot about Vera.
I love telling people people who, you know, complain about how terrible it was to lose back to back world. Siris.
Go tell people in Seattle in Cincinnati how terrible it was to go to back to back world Siris.
They're like, Oh, yeah, it's clearly it's ah lot of these Twitter fans these days that didn't live through the nineties to of baseball will, and the other part of it is that drives me nuts is doesn't mean anything if they don't win the worlds, Does that mean that on the day after the World Series ends, you're gonna invent a time machine, go back to June and tell yourself when you were having such a great time on rookie walkoff weekend? Don't enjoy this.
This means you think that time machine back to Walker Bueller 16 strikeout night and tell yourself, Don't enjoy this.
They're not gonna win the way.
I gotta tell you, I'd be really creeped out if I just appeared in my living room in the hot because I'm a to me.
I'm assuming it's a hot tub time machine.
I would be really weirded out.
We're not talking about building a DeLorean here at the most serial, Really sad if invented a time machine.
And that's what.
Is this what you chose to do with your life to **** myself? Exactly The oh theme.
Most serious question comes from Czech roll off Facebook.
Russell Martin in the bullpen.
What do you think the stats stats don't lie? I think he still owns a 0.
33 whip on the season.
If I don't know what isn't anything Martin pitches in the postseason things will leave either gone horribly wrong or incredibly well, it's like 21.
If you want to take the chance on incredibly well, then I guess I guess there's a chance I'm a pessimist.
So I'm gonna plan for really.
Either way, I'm ready.
I have My body is ready.
I'm in the hot tub.
Apparently, it could have become a time machine.
I might tell myself in the past don't enjoy life.
I don't enjoy the tailor.
So we had one, um, Came out a little bit ago.
We mean, obviously with the Internet, we have to click bait a few things here and there.
And the idea of one of the biggest Dodgers free agents potentially being Andrew Friedman.
Do you think he's going anywhere? I do not.
And if you read the story I wrote for 99 cents in a month or whatever it was I select the I expected to be some kind of a contract extension.
Arrived at pretty pretty short order.
I don't you know, I don't know when that would be.
I think I think there's really I mean, where else could he get a better situation? I mean, everybody brings up the Boston vacancy, but you looked at their farm system.
That is a That's a That's why I gave Dombrowski didn't keep the job because they didn't trust him to rebuild that.
Why would Andrew want to go there and start that from scratch? After having come here and got everything the way he wants? It s so I, you know, is he gonna go there for money? Now he's He's making ends meet out in California, as it is palatial Pasadena state wherever you ended up plan.
So I don't think he I don't think he's going because I think if the front, our ownership had any intention of letting him walk, they sure as hell aren't gonna let Farhan walk last offseason.
Well, I don't Yeah, I don't know that they could have stopped that tone.
Workout would be something next year.
Don't tell Andrew.
Don't tell your buddy.
You spend 24 hours a day with Don't tell him anything.
You got any final thoughts on on anything here? Bill, Before we let you go, I gave you my time machine rant.
I don't think that was pretty left in the in the holster.
After that, we're gonna hold on to those clips for a while before I go to bed.
I'm pretty sure never why Life is good.
That's the title of this episode's gonna be built.
Plunkett's time machine.
I'm pretty sure that's a good title way.
Appreciate you, man.
Hopefully we weaken get, um, I say we of course.
I'm liberally speaking about me and the Dodgers get deep into the postseason so we can ah, get a couple of these rants going and you can build up Maur frequent flyer miles.
I will be off Sunday and Monday, and those will be my last off days until the parade or or what? Postmortem whichever.
And last year it was, I think, 45 straight days of work.
And the year before that, when it went seven games, I think it was 48 or 49.
Here we go. All right.
Sunday and Monday.
Go and give your 99 cents the horn stride bleeding.
Yes, it is that easy out of it.
Bill Plunkett OCR Thank you again.
We'll we'll keep in touch for sure. Thanks.
I think we learned a lot.
Everybody What? What did you learn, Brooke, Tell us about what you learned.
Well, I learned that I can't wait to be Bill's age and be upset.
Be upset about the stupid things that fans have set out.
Let me say that because I AA lot of things that Bill says or what I think and I just never say.
And that's why I respect a man so **** much.
I guess it'll just be like you.
So I learned that we need to go out to his house next time to do this interview so we can get some new gifts for the Internet.
So any time people rant about like Dave Roberts are nine during the World Series are winning at all.
We could just load those up reasonable.
Yeah, that's reasonable.
Well, that was a lot of fun, guys, you know what else is a lot of fun going to a postseason game at Dodger Stadium? As of the time that we're recording, this were exactly two weeks away from delicious postseason play starting.
So start your October plan, your October, get out to a game and save while you're doing it is ours.

We're having another playoff party.
Guys, Uh, the tentative plan and you could pretty much pencil it into your Google calendars were going to be at a location that we're trying to figure out.
Uh, we're trying to make sure we said it would pretty much have it hammered out, but Sunday said that I will be hammered out.
September Sunday, October 6 I don't know What's we got a time way? September on the No, I wrote it like three other times.
Some of our friends of the show.
But the Dodgers, Of course.
We're on the road because we don't wanna have anybody that's gonna go that want to go to the stadium.
We want you guys to come party with us because it's not gonna be another option is with us, and you know you can go into hostile territory with some other I don't know, travel service travel agency group. But there's us.
We are home. We are.
What is, uh what is Olive Garden's thing when you're here? You're family, you fresh clothes.
We're gonna have a bunch of giveaways.
Like I got I don't drop many of these liberal.
I got a **** ton.
Give away your what the hell something believe is on fire.
But, yeah, we're parting with friends of the show.
We're gonna try to drag, drag, record juicy out, get him super hammered and make him very uncomfortable.
It's one of my all time favorite Lovric.
Whenever I see you make eye contact with was, like, immediately I feel comfortable.
Richard lll everybody screaming the whole game, life screaming literally the whole game.
We're gonna have your game, right? We'll be.
We'll be having fun there.
Yeah, it's got a lot of fun.
More details are gonna come, but again Sunday, October 6, over.
We're still it's most likely most likely that's gonna be Game three, right? Yes, Game three of the National League Division series against the LA And then more details to come.
Eso plan to show up and show up with me and brought me three on DME or And I guess Gary Gary might be there.
Whatever at the boat in stand all and stand all the guy who gives all the money a lot of nominations that is gonna be there Like a lot of writers are gonna be there.
Like just a lot of friends of the show.
We have friends.
We do have friends, which is usually yes, we have.
For Anne's irony, promised him already promised some friends of the show that I would personally rig some of the giveaways to give them shirts because they deserve it.
And then whoever this demented birthday on October 6, he's coming for his birthday.
Taylor, I don't know.
Whatever you are, we could invite the way we left out.
Whatever players don't make the playoff roster can just come to the party.
We'll call them.
Yeah, Kayla Ferguson.
What do you do in October? Six o get everybody? Yeah, he doesn't like me now.
Hey, Kiki, come on.
Rafael asked if we can create a hot tub Dodgers theme the shirt with the cat with a cat.
What do you like the cats on? I don't know cabin.
I mean, yeah, that's been his thing.
But one of the one of the other final things we got to talk about that. Give away.
We're going to give away again.
We did it last week.
I told you to do a thing on the thing, but you know, you got a guy, Aaron, because it was Aaron Aaron one.
These cool coasters from our friends of Vintage Brand of vintage brand is also give us a lot of stuff to give away at at the playoff party.
That's happening on October 6.
That's right. I said October 6.
Sunday there's gonna be football there, but there's, like, so many TV so you guys can watch, you know, 12.
No, there's more.
You you only counted, like after. Sorry.
Yes, you're And there's a huge ass projector.
So that's cool is a huge ass project, and there's a full bar.
Plus, you know, we're gonna, like, pocket in some booze.
Yeah, I mean, anybody who at the restaurant who's watching? We are honest Christian girls, but yeah, we are back with our friends at Vintage Brand, and we're gonna give away some of their awesome stuff through the rest of the season, which is like what a couple more episodes here the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.
Also, Vintage Brand is giving me $100 daily, plus 10% off your first purchase.

Uh, and to help celebrate with their latest addition to the shop, we're gonna giveaway Cool Tumbler that I was supposed to insert a picture of it, I forgot.
So imagine a temblor.
Imagine a tumbler.
But it says Dodgers and store your Mondello.
That's the important thing.
It'll be Mondello time fool.
But at work, you know, I've had Pasadena cops literally tell me that they just pour their beer into their tumbler and they're good.
I mean, I mean, I have an honest Christian Alhambra.
Giving one away with them S o Ways to enter.

Yeah, that's good, right? That's Ah, We hocked a lot right there.
You talked a lot of Go ahead and take over.
Me three. Well, I'm just gonna talk a little bit more for you.
That's not what I meant.
And, you know, I was just going off of your, you know, your rent because we got a bill rant and we got a You ran.
It wasn't really about a J says invite you. Me? Yeah.
Bombs like that.
Well, guys, there's just one thing that I want to point out to you going off of the terrible fan base that we're talking about right now, A lot of you had a lot to say about our terrible, idiotic, stupid, stingy, cheap front office back in and fingers back in.
Ah, whatever the trade didn't do.
I back in July when they didn't do anything except get Adam cleric and Jed jerk store.
Um, look, we're not gonna get into the fleet a basket.
We're not getting into that too much.
That's not something you really wanna touch.
That's a horrible thing that's happened.
Um, it's a huge black eye on baseball.
It's even worse on people in general, even worse.
But one thing we wanna do is the point out that Andrew Friedman company actually do know what they're doing, whether that be instinctual or something, that they did a lot of investigations on ahead of time because obviously this has been going on for a long time.
So this is kind of just a reminder that the front office does know what they're doing.
And I think we've known that for a long time.
I mean, you look at most of the moves they've made in the past.
I think they have made one move that ended up not being good and that's area or don for Josh Fields, and that's it.
I mean, realistically, that's all you can look back on and say what they screwed up on, and he literally never even suited up in any sort of doctor.
No, you had no idea what you're getting out of that guy.
So they got their defense, which is 1000% not a Dodger thing.
He's good for the Astros.
D H d h all day, bro.
Don't give him he doesn't have a glove.
I don't think I think they were just like no glove for you.
Rawlings is, like, unloved as like your good.
They're like, Are you right handed or left? Entities like I don't have blessed I haveto Hi, Bradley.
Thanks for joining us in the stream to see that Sergio says Friedman knows how to save money.
Yeah, and it's working right now because Whatmore money's coming off the ah, coming up the books this coming offseason.
And, um, I don't know, man.
There's a There's a lot of potential out there.
Of course, last week we talked about a Renato the whole potential trade thing that came up from from Rosenthal.
Obviously, Aaron Otto was not gonna happen.
It's never gonna happen.
But, you know, we could We could play.
We could play this game.
Why not? You know, Anthony Rend own is straight the hell up.
An actual realistic human people target.
And he just wants to come here for he wants to go anywhere for money dollars.
And guess what? We're gonna have money, dollars, American money, dollars.
I think my favorite things that Sergio Vanegas on Facebook is very upset about the off season and lack of money spending by Andrew Friedman.
And yet we're 20 games above Ah, the second blaze team in the list and about to go on our 2nd 100 win season in two years.
But you know, what do I know? Sergio? I'm just a baseball fan ****yst ****yst.
I gave you ****yst with Thio.
Um, yeah, there's there's just ah lot to to really look at it.
Look back on and how, how far Andrew has taken this this team in his ah, under his stewardship.
Is that the word I'm looking good like that producer says.
That's the word I'm looking for.
He says, I don't know.
Maybe he needs a tremendous a lot of words.
Uh, but it it's impressive this, of course this.
I mean, they got really, really lucky with lucky might be a stretch.
Uh, what's his name? Uh, Jeremy Jeffers would say otherwise would be luck, but, um, the 2016 draft is just That's insane.
You don't You can't plan that any better to have that money.
Dude, you already contributing to your team.
The two biggest winds that are really painting uneven.
Better picture for this franchise is that 16 draft, and to me, realistically, the slp trade because there's now two dudes from that trade that are in the most recent top 100 pipe MLB pipeline prospect.
Dude, guys, as they call 100%.
Yeah, those air guys that are gonna be, I mean, huge down the line, huge in our system.
And, you know, you talk about wanting to win.
Now, I understand the desire and the want to win a World Series right now.
I understand that.
Well, the guy that won the Coasters is in here.
Aaron Bane. That's his name.
Aaron, email us.
I told you what to do, Aaron, on the last video.
But, you know, we're talking about long term.
We're talking about sustaining this success for long term because you look at the Padres, you look at maybe not so much the Giants, but maybe a little bit down the line.
The Giants, in a couple of years, those air teams that are gonna compete long term, the Padres, especially the Padres, you know, they thought this year maybe they had a chance at making some noise.
They think for sure next year they got a lot of chance at making some noise.
And they think for the next 5 to 10 years they're gonna make a Tana noise.
So when all said and done, we got to compete for a long time.
We can't just go all in on one year and say, You know what? That was it.
We won the World Series in this year, and, you know, for the next 15 years, we're probably not gonna compete.
So for them to go out and do that to be balls enough to do that and to know that fans weren't gonna like that they did that.
Nothing but respect for my friend office.
Um uh, I think that's that bike, though.
Yeah, because Bob Garin rides his bike Thio Doctor Stadium.
It all comes together, kids since but some people are Well, we got people arguing in the stream right now, so that's always fun.
Remember? Guys were all when you're here, you're family. Wow.
He is eight each other today.
Sergio hates me, John, I'll says, Ah, fan Plus ****ysts, Panelists, you were a fan.
A list in the Venice.
They're very proud of you on that one, Tim.
SD Dodger. Tim A couple of points on him.
One of the guys I did mention just a grey.
Alright, Didn't mention by, alluded to it.
Worked around just a gray who was part of the SL quick trade bigtime prospect now for the Dodgers.
And Tim saw a lot of him at least what will not All 12 starts.
But he saw a lot of him at Rancho this year before he was bumped up to double A And, uh, you could look back.
No, Tim has Ah, definitely a nice highlight post with with, um, with just SIA gray or use A if you want to say it incorrectly.
But Tim also dropping some knowledge here about, you know, again, we don't want to touch too much on the basket, this thing.
But you know, you kind of look at the character of the dude saying *******s getting into fights within the clubhouse that dictates Dodgers had a clue that he could be a bad guy and love thing.
We all learned from that.
Kyle Creek is the best player person in baseball right now.
That's America's hero right there.
Broken, broken, finger kicking his ass I appreciate you can quit bringing a finger kicking.
You Let us know in the comments below you kicked in, Phil.
I don't know. I wasn't there.
Why wasn't Jeriko have a future? And on the Dodgers, um Janet Janitor club, Gerald Jersey folder.
Oh, he could be a ball boy.
He's got a good glove.
Yeah, it could be one of those guys.
Bullpen water, man to Roman.
I don't think they have.
Ah, waterboy in baseball.
Hey, Waterboy, you think All right, Next stuff that's we got We're not saying everything Andrew does is right, but we're saying we're fans of what he's done.
He's done a very except exceptional job doing his sports people job.
Please give us jobs.
Yeah, give us jobs.
Jobs need like something could rattle changing jobs.
You try S o the Dodgers world Siris.
Odds came in from Vegas and it turns out Vegas loves l a ban on on way.
You gotta be careful, guys.
We will get flagged immediately if we play that stuff flexing it.
Facebook is like now families come.
Somebody literally comes and stabs us in the side.
It's It's a whole ordeal.
But so, looking at those odds, you got at the very top of the list.
The Dodgers 5 to 2 odds, Which is funny because it was the bottom one again.
20,000 Red Sox, 20,000 to 1.
I don't know about you, but I'm putting a dollar on the Red Sox.
I get a bat Brooks College fund on the docks having no better than my my bookie dot com are.
No, my my bookie dot a g.
I think we have a promo code there.

My bookie dot a g use our promo code.
Over time, they're going to double your deposit.
Hashtag ad Corey Seager's and get past Corey Seager is a doubles machine.
He missed a month with the bad hammy, Uh, rumors of his demise are greatly over exaggerated.
He just does not have, um, this season.
His launch angle isn't quite there.
You know, he could go get one of our chicks dig the launch angle shirts.
A Dodgers nation dot com slash shop.
But, man, I'm just rolling out killing the advertising today.
Really? Are your machine.
I need October money, kids.
But, you know, for him, you've seen a lot of a lot of the balls that would have gone out for him.
They're all top spinning.
They're turning into doubles, which is which.
Cool, if you're in doubles, which I am because extra base hits are fun.
Uh, do you Do you feel Is anybody here for you? Let us know in the camera below.
Uh, Moses Ripped duty, huh? Any chance Any consideration that the Seeker could get? Comeback Player of the Year award? Uh, what's this competition? Who is the competition this year? Because there's not really, like a clear cut, like come back from the dead kind of guy.
Ailes is kind of I feel Oh, Josh, Josh Donaldson.
He's gonna come back, player.
Yeah, it's probably gonna be Donaldson.
I mean, even so, he's going to get he'll get seeds, will get some love 100 pants.
Probably should win it.
I think he's doing good.
When a l for the last season over there at the ball fly out of the park stadium in Texas.
But but Donaldson went from a year where he was O P s ing like 1 19 to now.
Like crushing the ball.
Yeah. I mean, he's got a big rain.
Was back in that, You know, I'm not gonna lie.
I'm a little scared now of the newly rebuilt Atlanta Braves.
I've never heard of him.
They got some bats.
Lestrade have got some bats.
Of course, we unfortunately lost our beloved Charlie Culberson to a broken face because he took a night, one mile an hour fastball, the face, which is awful.
And we love you, Charlie.
It's over nine over 9000 days on the injured list that he will spend because he has to reconstruct his perfect faith.
That's that's That's ***.
I've never taken a fastball directly to the face before.
I got to tell you.
Yeah, I think I've taken one of your softball things, if not actual.
Anyway, the school, she's Yeah.
Yeah, he's a terrible picture.
He's got so bad, like it was like, should see us throwing, throwing out in spring training.
You want lost two on the freeway to balls.
There isn't a freeway somewhere.
You got to go find him out there.
Arizona that comment about seven feet tall.
I really hope we get the grandma ad read again in the off season.
Oh, yeah, just like grandma used to make.
We're going back to Ciampi's.
Ciampi's norm way had let Ciampi's gave us so much food.
Ciampi's choppers the best.
We have that video over there on our on our YouTube channel.
Gets a Scrabble your They're cool when you must.
You can hear about how you used to be fat, and now he's not.
And now he owns a restaurant that was my favorite part of the whole thing.
7 wins above replacement in O.
P s over 900 for mullet Donaldson.
That's that's a pretty **** good season coming off the 100 Pence and Josh Donaldson, Probably probably that seeks really big in second place and that beautiful can't not get me.
Imagine getting second place and come back.
Blair, you couldn't come back good enough A J says has take find Brooks balls.
Did you guys see he got married? You guys happen to see the rookie secrets video? Anybody? No.
Like you. Both it today? Yeah, it was It was pretty solid.
Apparently the biggest takeaway I'm getting from from that particular video.
So there buzz thing was bus fees or get one of those feed their bird feed, something like that.
They they were hanging out with Dustin May and Tony.
Consul in, Of course, friend of show.
Baby babies all over the place right now.
He's got me today.
Yeah, he's got on, like, like, three or 10 different interviews. Oil.
So I'm gonna say that he all of his interviewing skills he learned while here.
So we love you, Matt.
You're welcome. And you come back.
Just get more importantly, because that way, we need to do that.
The season's almost over, Jess, but, um, Dr pitchers air straight up, lazy both dust in May, and Tony Johnson said they admitted I was never have I ever And they have fallen asleep during a game.
Starting pitchers, I tells you.
I mean every every every five days, you know, kind of gets redundant.
We can get one last question here unless anybody has anything else that's burning.
But, you know, it's about that time.
My beer's been pretty much empty.
Samuel asked what you all think of the Cardinals versus Dodgers potential NLCS.
Little ahead of schedule, but we'll end on that.
Go for broke, do you think? Well, I will say this.
Uh, they got some Dodger killers on their team.
They have Goldie, but we have his kryptonite.
We have pity bias.
For some reason, I don't know why I couldn't answer it.
I can tell you one of the better hitters to that we've ever faced cannot freakin hit Pedro Baez.
I'm not sure what that's all about.
Um, but when you look at their roster, you you look at there, the young pitching staff, that's the biggest thing that's going to.
And Nice Hopper, that they got some of their older guys that were making comebacks.
He's, like, really caught fire.
Lee carpenters also properly.
We're going well, they've lost like two top relievers.
A couple of times it was Rosenthal.
And then there was the other dude, Uh, Jordan Hicks? Yeah.
Would you like a 1,000,000,000 miles an hour? But then they got waiting right.
Who's like, suddenly making a comeback for himself as of late, like he's pitching like he's young again? Um, Andrew Miller, like, kind of fell off in ST Louis and really sure what happened to wait kill us this year? I don't know.
With your heart always does.
That's that's the thing. That's my point.
You got a bunch of guys on the team that are just a bunch of Dodger killers, and that's the problem.
Paul the young Hamilton Goldie on the team.
You got friggin Kolten Wong, who for some reason can hit off the Dodgers.
You have Dexter Fowler, who for some reason can only hit off the Dodgers.
You have Marcel Ozuna, who is freaking tearing the cover off the ball right now so he can't feel against the Dodgers. That's true.
He climbs up on the fences and fall down and insert the clip producer.
We don't have it.
Just kidding, Uh, jazz ia the wing over here.
Ewing says that Kirsch still has nightmares of ST Louis in October.
Mi Teoh, we all kind of neat.
Well, that's a good place.
Then get whiplash thinking about it.
That's a good place to end.
Yeah, I think about a therapy for that.
Think about puppet poppers.
The Czech girl says Great show is always guys Another wiener.
Get it? Yeah, because he's hot.
I'll check out email to check is going to get these fine vintage brand coaster air.
