And welcome to the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
As always, my name is Doug McCain.
You could following at D. Mac.
Underscore Late, you guys.
Little Dodgers Nation postgame show after dark.
Thanks for rocking with us here.
Almost 11 o'clock here on the West Coast.
But we know hardcore is.
You guys wanna talk some Dodger baseball, so let's get right into it.
What? I'm Cesar Rios.
Yeap you? Uh p y que es? Checking in from Phoenix, Arizona to six.
So to Austin, How about Corey Seager tonight? That's what I said. Corey Seager.
He lived in the Dodgers to the wind tonight.
Corey Seager Home run.
I mean, two doubles for Corey Seager tonight.
Now forth in the in Major League Baseball, 40th double of the year.
Corey Seager really was the offense until the doctors were able to string some his together Cody Bellinger on the night to see him get a rib laying there.
Cody Bellinger goes one for three.
But you're right, Corey Seager.
The game will those two for four scores to run two doubles four big R B.
I's where the Dodgers didn't get there first man on base until the fifth inning with a Cody Bellinger walking the fifth.
That was the first Dodger base runner.
So, like I said, the battle, the bullpens, it goes to the Dodgers.
And how about Kenley Jansen? Kenley Jansen.
He gets the job done again.
Gives up a single look. Cody Belger.
Mayor could have made that play.
Cody Bellinger will tell you that it's a play that he's capable of making.
Definitely not an error, but but Kenley Jansen.
He gets the job done forthe save of the year.
That's longer than one inning.
Hadn't had to save longer than one inning since back on July 14th member after the All Star break.
But welcome into the Dodgers Nation postgame show.
You know how we do things here.
Give me your ZIP code in your area code.
Got a big bag of shoutouts.
Want to throw you guys Who? You guys, guys, your player of the game.
You want to go give that can't even get the Corey Seager I'm giving to Corey Seager.
That Dodger offense was non existent.
He gets it going.
Gavin Lux has an R B I single.
Pollock? It's a big hit.
So once that Dodger often start to get going, they were in cruise control and then 10 to my aid.
And so cancel my ADA.
We're looking at him for some extended playoff relief.
He comes in, gives up that to run Bob Toe Aguilar.
But back to the comments.
Do some rapid fire style.
Get your Dodger, Take said.
We're gonna break it all down.
But welcome in to the Dodgers Nation postgame show. Here we go.
We got Joshua Townley looking good.
Kenley is looking good.
He's looking much better.
And I'm telling you, he says it's a field pitch.
That cutter, He says he found it when he was playing long toss in Baltimore.
Well, hey, you got that love and feeling back into his cutter, the way he mixes up with that slider and that four seamer.
Keep him a little off balance, and it's that late break on the cutter.
So a lot of people will look at the velocity on the cutter, and the velocity was up to 95 when they were against New York and he gets out. Pete Alonso.
But it's that late break and it's something to be very like, Kenley said himself.
He plays for October, and if Kenley Jansen looks like he's this kind of picture that can get big time high leverage, clutch outs like the Kenley Jansen that we love, we wouldn't get all high for that California love like we used to.
And I think he's got that love and feeling back in that cutter.
We got ah, Jamie, he's back.
Way to go Dodgers.
Keep it up, Maura watching from Provo, Utah.
Watch YouTube on TV and listen to the Dodgers announcers on the l A.
I did the same exact thing.
I used the tuning out. I did the same thing. Listen.
Charley Steiner, Rick Monday.
Rodolfo What Cell From San Diego. Whatever.
Adolfo David Dahl.
Redemption for the big fella up.
Sager is a doubles machine Oceanside.
Michelle Carter, Sigur Ros.
It's a wrap Dodger Blue.
Now that magic number down to six with Atlanta Atlanta loses tonight, and they got that NLCS home field advantage in sight.
Still a lot to play for in Dave Roberts and Andrew Freeman and company showed.
You can still compete while workshopping things You can still develop.
You can still you'd still get closer.
That playoff roster, while also winning games and I was a great example is this Tampa Bay team.
There were a game and 1/2 bag and the wild card and their change there right in the thick of it.
This was a playoff game.
So a great thing for this Dodger, this Dodger team.
But playing these high intensity must win games where the other team has all the sense of urgency in the world.
First you got it in New York.
Yes, the Mets and tonight against the Rays, who are desperately trying to get to the postseason.
Another sloppy game like the late offense.
Jansen look good.
What up with belly? Yeah, you know the thing with Cody Bell with Cody Bellenger.
He's missing pitches, he's missing pitches and then you see those pitches low.
In a way, those swings are very unimpressive, to say the least.
He looks lost on those swings.
Our boy agent Gonzales says he looks like a I don't know he makes some person a dance or something like that.
But lone away, it does not look pretty, looks very defensive.
And he's got a short that stroke.
They said he put in some extra work in batting practice, going the opposite field, shortening that stroke.
But look, he's trying to hit Bomb sometimes.
And he's gotta be a little more dynamic with his approach at the plate.
And they need Cody Bellenger to get it right.
But what up, Joseph? Meg's any V i p member of the Dodgers Nation postgame show, warning it into Cody Bellinger to second past my bedtime.
Hey, man, get your Z's in man.
But hey, never too late to talks and Dodger, based on a good night.
Thanks for rocking with us for a couple minutes here.
What up, Ryan? Always rock with us, Joshua.
Always hear What up, Doug? How's it going? Joshua? Adam Yahoo.
He was wearing his red shoes.
Hey, man, he's got He's one of Jordan brands athletes and he's got the fresh kicks out there, got the new do and looks like a new Kenley out there of late, and it looks like he's getting focused, and he's fighting his stuff at the right time.
So look, I'll say we're talking about Cody Bellinger.
All take a cold Cody Bellenger in September if it means he can turn around in October.
But Kenley Jansen, that's really one of the biggest developments.
And, of course, the fact that Hunter were you.
He had a positive outing.
Seven scoreless after having four clunkers in a row.
But if he looks at some of the numbers with Cody Bellinger, so his O.
P S 8 91 still above average and go to Dodgers Nation, not Combo is a great piece written by Clint ***** is the real FRG did a great piece about Cody Bellinger and his recent struggles.
And look, when it comes to Cody Bellenger, he hasn't hit a home run now in 12 games, and during that stretch he's hitting 2 25 p s ng 5 51 And like I'm one agreement, he's in a slump, and it's all it's okay for us to admit that Cody Bellinger is in a slump.
Look, no one's gonna play.
No one's gonna Well, you know, we're talking about the idea of him chasing Ted Williams.
Him hitting over 3 50 Well, the fact remains, he definitely has that M v p in his grasp.
If you look at it, still has an 88.
2 war, his W R C plus at 1 61 But that average and looks like it's creeping closer and closer toe to sub 300.
And Anthony Rend own is chasing him for that EVP race.
So back to you guys get those Dodger takes in.
How did you guys feel you guys got as your as your player of the game? If you have not let me know where you're watching the Dodgers Nation postgame show, throw that in the comments Belly needs to wake up from Robert Jose.
What was the YouTube montage of them? Lose the World Series? That was painful, Jose, I'm with you 110%.
What was that? I mean, we're in the lead here, and you're just showing us these nightmares.
I try to black that out, and now I don't relive that as we go into the ninth inning.
Jake, our love the show.
Doug, go Dodgers +310! Rep In I love it.
I missed the 1st 2 innings.
How did Ferguson do so? Caleb Ferguson Who? He Che.
He worked with Rick Honeycutt to change the grip on that curveball, and he was showing, Ah, lot of signs of life.
But tonight really wasn't his night.
Top of the it didn't give up a hit.
He did not give up a hit but gives up a walk steal second box for the first time in his career.
So first time in his career, he hits the gets the bark.
And then Willie Adams.
Ah, he hit the sacrifice fly and that Joey Wendell's scored.
So if you look at him, he pitches 1 2/3 innings, two walks and one strikeout.
So Kayla Ferguson, Ah, guy who's trying to make his way out of the postseason roster? You saw Dave Roberts announced that Ross Stripling is gonna be a part of that.
So not a great showing if you're Caleb Ferguson tonight.
And if you look at Caleb Ferguson, he's a guy that is improved quite a bit.
He has improved quite a bit on his quest to make it to this postseason lineup, and unfortunate tonight was not a good night for Caleb Ferguson.
That curveball looks different.
Mixed in some different pitches.
The grip on it better break.
But Doug Crosby, it was ruled an error on belly dug.
It was rolling air.
Okay, my bad on that.
So it was a little hot.
I mean to me, you're gonna rule that An error.
I got you, But but yeah.
I mean Cody Bellinger a little sloppy.
You saw the play where? Pedro Baez in the pop Up with David free.
So this team we saw you remember a couple months ago, Dodgers eight straight games with the error.
You don't want to get sloppy.
Wanna button that up as we get close to the postseason? Didn't like what I saw there.
Look, the pitcher Pedro Baez, you always get out of the way in that situation, you always leave it to the fielders in that situation.
Ryan Seager No brainer.
Rick Dodgers Nation from Fresno, California Frank 936 11.
Sigir was the man tonight, Sheila from the 909 we got Manny, that ponytail really seems to work for Kenley.
It looks like he's slowly getting hot again.
I like that he's not getting hot overnight.
It is an incremental growth for Kenley Jansen, incrementally getting back and getting hotter.
And look, if it take.
If you took a whole season for Kenley Jansen toe work in a four seamer toe work in that slider than hey, all it takes is for him to be right.
Come October has come October.
Should the Dodgers get deep in that playoff into those into the NLCS into the world? Siris.
We know that Kenley Jansen is gonna be a factor one way or another.
Whether it's blowing.
Saves are getting key saves, but we're seeing what we want to see at the right time for the Dodgers.
Joshua Seeger. Definitely.
Dodgers must win tomorrow to put pressure on the res Tau beat the Yankees next week at their home.
I was just gonna mention that, looking at their schedule that the Dodgers then that's a great point.
If the Dodgers, the more they went against his Rays team, the more you put them in most situations against the Yankees and what that of course does is allows the Dodgers to get that home field advantage in the world, Siris.
Like I've said the in the world, Siris.
You want to get that home field advantage you saw.
You saw what happened since.
Since his 1925 home teams have for Game one of the world Siris, the home team is 59 34 since 1925.
That's the 63% winning percentage.
So if you look at that to the home team with home field advantage, they've won 59% of fall classics since night Team 25.
So the debate amongst Dodger fans is.
Shall we rest guys? Should we get guys healthy? Should we tinker with the lineup for the bullpen as faras, the auditioning process goes as far as as tuning this team up for the postseason to me, I still think there is no House money games and you chase that while you chase that home field advantage because it's proven to be a major factor when it comes to winning that commissioners trophy.
You know that at the end of the day, that's what we're after here.
Kristen, 209 loves the Dodgers, and the Dodgers love the 209 David Don seven runs, no homers.
We have other ways to get it. Get it done.
Great point, David.
Don't now this Dodger team.
You know the way they can rate.
They can slug with the best of them, 261 home runs and they lead the National League.
If you look at it without that, if you take away the d h.
Really, they would really have the most home runs, a major league baseball.
But tonight they get it done.
Seven big runs without the home run.
You see guys finding gaps.
Kiki Hernandez, I think, had one of the best at Bath tonight.
He that that pitch right inside on him.
He takes it, finds that gap in left field and key Cabe.
And that was a great sign for Kiki Hernandez.
Then Gavin looks so. Gavin looks.
He's reached base in six of his last 12.
Gavin lugs after I remember he was two of 18 No.
He went two for five in his first game.
How does single his second game but really fell into a big slump Now Gavin looks.
That player looked with with Alex for Do go out of that first round series of the NLDS, he's gonna for sure beyond that, that NLDS roster.
But don't Don't think that he doesn't have this in mind.
Where Gavin Loves is trying to prove to this Dodger front office and this Dodgers staff that Hey, he's a guy that didn't just come up here to observe.
He came up here to play last seven for Gavin looks 3 13 and he's Oh, passing 8 75 And he had that huge.
You know, it was responsible for that.
Went against the Mets.
The one that went off the wall tonight extends that Dodger lead, but ah, but back to you guys.
How do you guys built? Gavin looks You guys want to see Gavin looks on that postseason roster.
Let me know in the comments.
I'm going to say give me a G for for yes.
You do want to see him. Okay.
And I think that I think Gavin looks.
Is that dude who If you look at that swing now, one of things we lose with Alex Verdugo is a hitter.
They can get that contact ****, and Gavin looks looks like another guy that can do that in spades.
But back to my comments here from Bumped.
Um, all right yet? So if you look at tonight's game, if you look at tonight's game, the offense, really they were. They sputtered.
They sputtered for the 1st 5 innings.
That bullpen was the real deal.
You saw why that your A is what it is.
That bullpen for Tampa Bay.
They pitch over 710 innings.
So they came to play one of the negative spots tonight, though you gotta admit was can't, um I can't, um I ate up.
He's been hot of late.
You saw how that velocity goes way up.
You saw that velocity goes way up when he's coming out of the pen, he gives up that That shot's ah Tau AG you are.
And it became a nail biter.
Give became a nail bottom.
A pit fan, Jose and the 219 bleeds blue and and then you got it really was the top of the fourth.
It was the top of the six John Peterson.
All right, what's in here? And then Pedro Baez, Pedro Baez is another thing to Pedro Baez.
First homerun office.
Change up all season long.
So that was another thing they didn't want to see.
Because Pedro Baez he's been a steady rock for this Dodgersbullpen and the Dodgersbullpen.
6 love from the S F S f from Adam Louise G.
He does deserve a spot in the roster for the postseason.
Cyberpunk Gavin lugs has a super high ceilings.
So yeah, he's put his potential is the best, Even though he's not so good right now, Samuel Dodgers should have no problem getting home field after tomorrow.
We only have to play non contender tease a lot of games against the division.
They close up with the Giants, and the Dodgers should really feast on the N L West, where they have dominate all season long.
So I definitely agree with that.
The Dodgers should have it relatively easy, but Yankees actually have an easier schedule down the stretch.
They play the play Maur division opponents.
They play the they play the Blue Jays once again, so and so tonight.
Also who the Orioles gets.
If you look down the ah If you look at Julio Urias short, not not a lot of work for Julio or is today He comes in.
He pitches tonight.
One inning for Julio Torres, but two strikeouts.
Caleb Ferguson did not look strong.
He pitches 1/3 of it.
Inning gets a strike out.
So that was not to see Dylan Floro.
He might be a really French guy.
And don't underestimate the fact that just because you don't make in the NLDS then based on lineups based on the ****ytics you know this is a franchise that is gonna look from top to bottom, every single match up so guys can, even if they don't make those early round rosters, that everyone's in play as the season as the playoffs get further and further.
And then Ross stripping.
So Ross Stripling.
He pitched two innings tonight, gave up two hits, three strikeouts for Ross Stripling.
So that was definitely encouraging.
Sign to see him missing bats out there and and rostrum and 14 stars this year.
And that fip is at 386 hell holding batters a slash line of 2 43 to 80 and 4 26 So my question to you guys is, Do you guys see this four starter position? We know Rich Hill.
He's doing everything he can to get back, and I think dig MT.
Is going to make it back.
The heart of Rich Hill to me tells me that he's gonna make it back into this into this.
Ah, staff, Of course, not enough time to build him into a starter, But you find a way to get him into that bullpen.
What do you guys think that I think it's gonna be an extended bullpen tied game for that four starter? Or do you think it's gonna be a Gonsouland? I think right now Gosselin is that odds on favorite to get that done.
I think Goslin is that four starter he's got.
The stuff that's gonna play off in the postseason he's got is that splitter.
Specialist grades are out of 70 out of 80 and he can also rear back and hit velocity hit his spots and I just think he has that poised to make it in the post season.
So how you guys feel about Tony Gonsouland.
But tonight, though, other notes you got Yeah, Ross Stripling coming And Pedro Baez Choi that home run that he gave up the joy on Lee won on his on his changeup.
All season long.
He wanted down the way, and it was middle and up.
So really was a command thing on that changeup.
And and then some more sloppy play, but with Bellenger and buy as bumping into each other.
So but back to you guys.
D Oh, Dean, 51 50.
Honest question is, Will Smith.
Big league ready? You have.
You hate to see it.
You hate to talk about it.
And what a difference a couple months makes.
We were just yelling and screaming about Will Smith.
He has gone ice cold.
Seven of the on the road trip.
He went seven of 24.
He was five of 12 against the meds.
And if you look at Will Smith last 30 games, he's batting 1 56 10 for his last 68 plate appearances with three home runs, one of 15 on the road trip, actually as well as one of 15 on the road trip that was about a mouse throughout Korea.
Syria is actually one of 15 on the road trip.
Last 30 batting 1 56 So Will Smith.
But if you look at that O. P s.
If you look at his potential to slug in the postseason, I think you have to ride it out longer with Will Smith.
You know, we talked about it ad nauseam about his ability to catch pictures.
Whether or not guys like Hunter, you favor him, you saw 100 re.
You pitches his best with Rosa more and behind the plate.
But with Will Smith look tonight tonight, Will Smith I was hoping that he would.
He got that hit when he pulled it to left field.
But tonight he goes over three again, does score a run tonight, does score run and does get on base with a walk.
So he's seeing pitches.
He's taking pitches, But Will Smith is another guy that has struggled of late.
So is Max Muncy.
Max Muncy is a guy He hasn't gotten a hit since he cut off the aisle over three tonight.
So Max Muncy is another guy that needs to start getting it together.
Start heating up with the right time.
But the question about Will Smith, I think I think that isn't Look, we saw what happened last year.
He fell into the tank in Austin. Barnes.
But even the best version of Austin Barnes is not going to do what Will Smith has the potential to do? So that's why I think you write it out with with Will Smith and look these air growing pains.
These are growing pains with Will Smith, and, like Tommy, Lasorda said, only problem with success is that does not teach you about how to deal with failure.
So he jumps onto the scene and you saw his O. P. S.
And you saw what he was able to do right out of the gates, and we hadn't seen anything like that.
I mean, he's getting walk off home runs and he just he just just bawling out of control.
But Will Smith, you look at Will Smith? He really has to find a way to get that.
I mean, if you look at last 18 games, 1 43 1 home run, three R B I's his o.
P s down to 3 96 Now you put that against that against his 1st 28 games, his 1st 28 games.
Now that's not a huge sample size, but it is a larger than normal sample size.
That's almost a month off baseball.
He was hitting 3 18 12 home runs with 31 R B i's Oh P s ing over 1200.
So he spoiled us early.
Look like that Phanom.
Yeah, Joe Davis, doing I am legend calls little premature on that, but he's gotta He's gotta find a way to get better at bats.
He just looks a little lost out there on the plate and I'm with you.
We gotta find a way to get Will Smith.
But the reason why you stay with Will Smith is we need offensively, someone who can.
We offensively, we need that power.
We need that pop because it was missing in the World Series last year, especially from that catcher position.
We can't have those automatic outs.
And then also don't underestimate the idea of you could maybe haven't d h ng have Austin Barnes playing, depending on if he's able to get it going.
But we got Ray bar *****.
How's it go, man? Ray's always rocking with us, my man Ray Bar seeming out there.
El Paso strong, right? We need to have Austin Barnes and Will Smith on the postseason roster.
I think ultimately that's where you're gonna find the versatility of those two.
We know how well 100 were you pitches to Rosa mourn, but I think ultimately that's gonna be the combination that you're gonna end up with.
Gosselin is a good right handed reliever out of the bullpen.
I'm worried about my eight of those He is.
He is too inconsistent now.
It's about command.
It's about first pitch strikes.
And when he's able to do that, cyberpunk will Smith is starting to irritate me.
I hope he fixes his issues now so he doesn't struggle in the postseason.
That's a great point.
Cyberpunk struggle now so you could feast later.
We need everyone to work out their issues right now, and you got a lot of guys that are just cold right now and and that is the ebbs and flows of a baseball season.
And look, don't kid yourself.
Yes, the Dodgers are playing for home court advantage in the world. Siris.
Yes, that magic number is starting at lower, lower to get home field advantage against the Atlanta Braves or whoever in the NLCS.
You know, just be the Atlanta Braves, but don't mean don't kid yourself these guys.
So long season they look like me, especially Cody Bellinger.
I think Cody Bellinger needs a couple of days off to retool that swing.
He had a nice rip on that one today, but Cody Bilger that swing is getting big and he's missing fast balls right down the plate.
Missed one right down Broadway today, and that's what you do not like to see.
So looking at some of these numbers, some of these recent slumps the last 30 games for for John Peterson, he's playing well.
A streak is here.
You ever gonna find he's slashing three or 43 68 p s ng 1100 he actually the highest O.
P s with with with more than more than 50 at bats for anyone in the position players.
But if you look at it, Justin Turner last 30 games, hitting 2 41 Cody Bellinger hitting 2 39 You guys Kiki Hernandez hint to 50.
We need guys to start stepping up and start getting into that playoff form, and that's why it's definitely a good thing that these last couple of games, these last couple of Siri's have had a playoff like feel so back to the comments.
Here we go, Uh, do be back in the NLDS.
I think he will take a lot of time to get hot again.
That's a great point. Two.
We know he's been working at Camelback Ranch, but the thing to that you lose it for Do go with Bardugo, you lose to me.
I mean, between him and Bellenger, you meet, you lose your your best offender.
So the thing about and Matt Bai is gonna do a nice job filling in.
He's hitting 2 88 9 home runs.
46 R B I's and then he's come up clutch in multiple clutch situations.
Mad Baby has been nails when it's counted this year, he's hit that walk off against the Rockies.
He's had big hits, should have had another one against the Phillies, where it put him ahead against the Phillies earlier in the year.
But the thing about? The thing about Alex Verdugo is you miss his defense.
You miss his defense.
Also, you'll miss his you, Mrs Ability Thio you Mrs ability to put the bound the ball if you look out.
Alex Verdugo struck out in just 13% of as that bats during the two that during this year.
So along this season, Julie struck out and 13% of his at bats.
He's been excellent.
He's been fantastic when it comes when it comes to coming off when it comes to, um to get that bat on the ball that that that contact rate is there and also that you ZR score 38.
1 in 128 in the third inning.
So if you look at him, that use yard score is very high and he has that range.
So Alex Verdugo, look, he's not gonna be back as early as early as we want to have him back.
But when he does come back, he's gonna provide a spark for this team, and we're definitely gonna need him.
I'm telling you, Alex, Purdue is going to be the difference when it comes to this Dodger offense and especially late in this postseason.
Once we get deeper and deeper closer to that world, Siris, we got S d Dodger.
How's it going, man? As the Dodger follow him on Twitter.
One of the best Dodger followers.
He is our esteemed Dodger scouting expert.
There attends a lot of the quakes games, but ah, yeah, I can see my Ada.
Mehta is fine with one inning. Absolutely.
You got that slider a writing, you know, a specialist to get out right handed batters.
But unfortunately, the team that I think's gonna ask for Maur out of cancer, mate, I think they're gonna want him for 23 innings.
Maybe, especially in that four.
Start with the Dodgers, depending on who they throw out there.
I think they have Maurine in mind for cancer, my Ada.
Hopefully, though, hopefully the Dodgers can settle on a routine for him and settle on a game plan because look, you saw that velocity.
It starts to go up 94 95 miles per hour once he's coming out of the pen and then it's all about command.
It's all about command with cancer by it.
If he can locate that fastball, get first pitch strikes, it opens up.
That slider opens up that changeup.
So it's really on him.
Raider Mike would've Raider Mike.
How you doing, man? You are The Ray is gonna be the Vikings.
Let me know right now.
Uh, rubbing for enemy territory.
Right on Doug Verdugo is the emotional spark plug our team, and he will be the difference in the playoffs.
I definitely think that he's gonna be that guy that comes in fresh, hopefully as healthy as we can get him.
And you know, he's a competitor and you know that he brings that energy to this team and they feed off.
It has a residual effect.
There's a ripple effect with the way that Alex Verdugo plays the game.
It's with the fire and intensity and I just can't wait to have him back.
Our bullpen will be fine.
We have Maur dudes.
Then we have Maur dudes.
Um, that could bring the heat.
Our bullpen then we have the last two seasons will be a huge factor in the playoffs grade point.
And that's something we've been preaching for a couple years now.
A couple months now is the fact that the death of this bullpen has the potential toe Thio overcome some of the deficiencies and you got guys like a godson.
You got guys like a Julio Urias, Julio Oreos and potentially a Dustin made that kind of stuff.
Plays up when you can miss bats in the postseason, is a game changer and his dodgersbullpen.
And also the big game change, of course, is Joe Kelly.
So Joe Kelly, If he can be 60 70 80% off the Joe Kelly that we saw in last year's playoffs, that could be the big asset.
That can really close the deal for this Dodger team as far as as you know.
But if you look at the bullpen as a whole second best bullpen in major league baseball since June 1st with a 3 50 e r A.
But one of the issues is is, um, if you looked at 23 losses on the year for this bullpen and second worst as faras inherited runs scoring.
So that's the thing.
It's when you got guys on base.
Can these guys get the outs they need? With runners on second and third runners in scoring position tonight, you saw some examples.
You had clean innings for guys. Kel.
Eric is a guy that you really trust out there.
Eric is really starting to build that trust as a guy that's a big time lefty specialist can induce that soft contact and can get those outs.
But back to the comments, Sadler is legit. Salaries.
A guy really didn't.
He's a guy that's really pitched a lot better in the in the bigs.
Then he then he did in the minors, and he's a guy that's trying to make.
He's got some nice stuff.
Patrick Collin KJ is looking good.
He has been holding back for out October baseball.
That's a great point.
Well, that's a greater point.
Michelle Carter Vasquez in jail now.
Glad we didn't trade the farm for him.
Not gonna get too much into that crazy situation.
I couldn't believe what I was reading this morning, but hey, a sometimes.
Sometimes the best trades are the trades you don't miss.
I can only imagine I can on Lee. Imagine.
Look, I've never called out off this gig, but I can only imagine this.
Ah, this postgame show How do we had made that trade? How do we have shipped off dust in May and Gavin lugs and brought on Flee Bay Vasquez and had the story come out like it did? That would have been an absolute nightmare.
I don't know what I would be able to do with myself.
Now I know what you guys would be doing right now.
You guys would be absolutely just on fire.
But Raydor, Mike, doesn't Oreos scare you? Or is it me to me? I think that look, Julio, or it's one thing you have to know about him is this guy.
He has that poised.
He's got that that that moxie to be out there in those key situations.
Remember Julio Urias? He pitched in game five off the NLDS against the Nationals and in 2016 Okay, the age of at the age of 20.
Okay, so this is a guy that Ah, this is a guy that he's got it out there from Sinaloa, Mexico, And to me, I'm the biggest fan of who you are is one innings pitched, two strikeouts, 18 pitches to me with the Orient.
It's about throwing strikes, too.
We know He's got the great stuff.
We know he's got the change, the fastball, the location.
He's got that pitch mix that you want to see.
But to me, when it comes down to command, it comes down to walking guys.
But I think that Julio Aureus has to be he.
I mean, you saw him hit a batter.
Ah, he walked about it to load the bases and he gave up that that game, that game winning pinch it double the other day to the Mets.
So that wasn't a good one for him.
That was not his best, his best outing.
But all these guys are starting to be put in these situations that have that playoff like feel an intensity to it.
So the thing, too, is I didn't like those two pitches.
I feel like there are borderline calls.
I feel like he got you got you got hosed a little bit on those calls, but ultimately Julio Oreos over the past four seasons on 366 e R A.
But only 123 innings.
So in eight starts this season Ah, 3 to 6 e r.
I think they're gonna keep him out of the bullpen.
And I think that he has what it takes to get big time big time outs come postseason time.
What we got? Um, Cyberpunk.
I like kill Eric a lot being a lefty specials.
Always rocking with us. The Pomona Dodgers are right.
We got Adam Hanks.
I like hearing Joe and Orel instead.
Yeah, wasn't Ah.
I mean, it was kind of fun.
What'd you How about this? Would you guys think of the you to broadcast today? I don't know if I'm gonna like and subscribe to it, but I thought I did like some of I did like some of the the commercial free entertainment that they were giving us in between innings.
The best one was Hideo Noma were on the anniversary of Hideo Nomo's No no at Mile High, the only pitcher to ever throw a no hitter.
And that was against one of most potent offenses in major league baseball that year.
Go on YouTube and watch that, but I just could not believe that they were throwing those flashbacks of those two worlds.
Siri's It was just blowing my mind.
Um, Josh Spores seems to be good closing material.
I think he's I think he's gonna be on the outside looking in when it comes to that postseason roster has of good stuff.
If you look at these, um, if you look at at what the daughter's air looking at, I mean the I mean, if you got you know, what the Dodgers are looking at when it gets closer to this.
Um, you know, if you look at the lefties you got Ferguson, Kel, Eric, Julio Oreos and then a lot of writers Pedro Baez, Dylan Floro, Jimmy Garcia, Tony Gonsouland, Kenley Jansen, Joe Kelly Canter, Maya, Dustin May, Casey Saller and Ross Stripling.
So I think when you look at those options you got you see those locks dosed in May that I mean, would I like his last appearance.
He looked really what? He looked really good.
But But ultimately I think that it's gonna be tight.
It's gonna be tight.
It's going to depend on the match up so Raider might know Moe was awesome.
Love No, mo Ah, we got no Really.
Come on. I hated you too.
Replaying the world Siris low lights.
Exactly. They were low lights.
They were definitely, um Man, I just I'm glad that I didn't throw my channel at the TV I was thinking about doing Ah, little a Walker Bueller heater.
Right it right off the TV.
I was not feeling that cyberpunk.
To be honest, that world Siris segment was an absolute wake up call in a reminder to our bullpen and offense.
Great point, cyberpunk.
I mean, hey, it got me fired up.
It got me fired up and said, Hey, let's get it on.
It's time to get another crack at this.
And this time get it done in that drought.
Why can't will Smith ever finish this season? Strong from Erik Lee.
Hank Samuel, You said it.
That two eggs L A Well, Ah, no, mofo mo.
They got so many things wrong, Ryan. Garlic.
They got a lot of things wrong, and it was just left and right.
I mean, they're trying something new. They're trying to get younger.
They're trying to appeal to a different demographics, so I can understand.
And hey, a lot of people don't have spectrum.
So hey, and also Michelle Carter, you to broadcast better than ESPN broadcast.
Okay, that's you could honestly make that argument.
I mean, I like madness.
Mavesa, the surgeon, um I like him, actually.
I like I like him.
Um, but I to me, I just can't.
I mean, every time it's like a bun.
It sounds like an explosion.
I don't like how they put the speakers in the ball.
Ah, garlic is tradable.
Cyberpunk? Definitely, I think garlic.
What do you guys think about the idea of possibly adding Anthony Rent? Don't I know you guys heard those whispers.
There was rumors over the weekend about Rando known and to me.
Hey, if Randall joins the club, that's that's the That's the guy who's making a case to get to take this M v P.
This year and ran.
He's hitting like 3 40 since the old star break.
I think Ah, Anthony Rendon is a guy.
You move just in, turn a first, sign him on a 56 year deal.
But this is the guy I'm telling you.
You didn't get Bryce Harper this offseason.
Anthony Red don't is a guy.
He hits for average, he is for power, and this guy brings on a game in and game out basis.
I really think that could I think, the Dodgers.
They make a serious run at the World Series this year.
Fingers crossed, toes crossed that it culminates into a world Siris.
And then you add a guy like Anthony Redundant used this World Series that we're gonna win fingers crossed O's cross and you say anti rent, Don't you come and then we build a dynasty.
You throw Justin Turner to first base because look, make no secret about I love J t.
I love the Ginger Jesus, but he has lost a step or two at third.
And Anthony Rand don't I think, would be a big time acquisition.
That is a guy and this team.
Look, you got you know that Andrew Freeman is not gonna make frivolous acquisitions.
If you look at a J.
Paul Glass seven, he's hitting 3 85 a.
Pollock A also crush and Lefty.
You bring him in, Uh, and then you and that's a guy that you seriously consider breaking the bank on.
But Adam hangs three X ray bar simians.
The Dodgers will beat the braid.
I love Ray with his predictions.
Okay, he's got He's got the Dodgers, I think, beating the Astros.
But how about this? Throw your world Siris predictions.
Right now, I'm gonna call my shot, I think the Dodgers.
It's still early, aching back and changes.
A couple times I got the Dodgers winning at home.
Uh, I got the Dodgers in six against the Yankees.
I think the Dodgers against the Yankees in six.
That's my call right now.
What you guys got, though, that's what you guys got on.
The divers will learn from that from that mid season match up, and I don't think I think the Astros, they're They're definitely a strong team.
And But I think the Yankees, they're so do for a World Series appearance, you don't They don't go on those kind of droughts, but Jose Rod live one month without Time Warner Cable.
A slash spectrum haven't looked back, so you're good.
So let me guess.
You're getting your games on a site that Ryan's with credit, right? Vasquez for Lux, Erik Lee.
We got Ray, um Raider Mike.
Is home field advantage overrated? Or do you think we need it? We kind of broke it down a little earlier.
I look, if you look.
Since 1925 teams were 59 25 in Game one of the world, Siris and then the home team.
Since 1925 has won 59% of the World Series.
So the numbers will tell you that getting home field advantage has the biggest has the biggest bump in that world.
Compared to like if you look at most sports the division round, it's just a little bump over 50% and it goes up just incrementally in the the NLCS.
But when it comes to that, that world Siris, it takes another leave.
So I definitely think it's big and also shows us that this team I could look that let's say we do lose the world.
Siris don't I don't want to say that, okay, but in the in the event that nightmare strikes again.
We can look at this team and say Hey, they did everything in their power to secure World Series title and I think having home field advantage gives the Dodgers the confidence and it shows the league.
But, hey, we are the favorite to get this world.
Siri's done, and I think to me it's a no brand to me based on the cir***stances based on the splits with Kershaw with re you versus home.
In a way, I think no question about if you saw the way that they've been working their rotation, have they been mixing things up of late? It looks like they're going with Kershaw and Game one Re You game, too, and Walker in Game three.
That's my prediction for the way they're gonna line up the rotation.
So I think Kersh shot home Rio at home.
I would have much more confidence about that.
Can you imagine Kershaw, Game one at Minute Maid Park or Kershaw? Game one with that short port porch and Yankee Stadium against the Bronx, Bombers are gonna turn into the Bronx Zoo, so I think you got it.
Bring it back to the friendly confines of the Chavez Ravine.
And another thing, the thing about two is look, the Dodgers there three and 11 against the Yankees all the time, But those three World Series titles that they did win.
Those came on the road, so Ah, Radar, Mike.
Hell, yeah, I like that Adam Hank's.
We would we would have the Astros of the world Siris if it was not for sign sharing.
We could get into that all day long.
I definitely think they were stealing signs.
If you look at Yu Darvish the way he's pitched since being a Dodger, no way they were gonna rake him like he was.
But look, the reason why we didn't leave the Astros ultimately was our inability to get contact.
I mean, we live by the home run, died by the home run that Siri's.
We weren't able to play the small ball.
We weren't able to have a more dynamic approach at the plate.
And that's why Robert Vance Coy och, he's just develop a new style that's hopefully gonna pay dividends in the World Series in the Fall Classic.
But Ryan, Ginger, Jesus ah, cyberpunk.
Having Anthony Rend own and our team would bolster our offense, but I'm worried about the price tag he's gonna have with the media attention he's getting now.
Look at the Sky Boris client, Scott Boras clients get theirs, they get paid.
But you have to think of it long term, yes, that we're gonna have to start paying guys.
We're gonna have to start doling out contracts to our younger guys.
But if you look at this young core with Gavin looks with Will Smith, Cody Bellenger and Corey Seager it affords the Dodgers the ability to bring in a guy like like Rando kn and Randall.
And I think it's 30 years old.
I think you get three years of peak prime out of Ren Don't and I think that he becomes a major player because, look, let's make no secret about this offense.
They can get stagnant.
Last week, they averaged four point run, 4.
1 runs per game.
On the season, they're averaging 5.
4 runs per game.
And if you look at this year and craziness it because the way that balls are flying out the ballpark this year at an historic rate, this team is actually gonna break the all time Dodger run record.
The doll time Dodger run record was all the way back in 1962.
The 1962 Dodgers scored 845 runs today.
After tonight, the Dodgers have 825 runs.
So they're gonna smash that record dream.
I love the panda Dream.
A little dream of me like that.
Ah, Samuel, what would you um what would it take to bring era? Um, Aaron Otto to the Dodgers, I think.
Aaron Auto to the Dodgers, especially within the division.
Now we're talking.
If he was in the a l if he was in a ah trade partner that the Dodgers are familiar with, I think it would be a different story.
Board time of the Colorado Rockies within the division.
Aaron Auto just signed that big deal. He's already locked it up.
I think you're looking at some of the bigger prospects.
I think you would have to part ways with the dust in May with the Gavin Lux with the cable Ruiz maybe give up some position players.
They might want Verdugo, maybe jog Peterson something along those lines.
But it would be, ah, Hall and no doubt about it.
But it's all but hey, and, uh, for Aaron Otto, that's another thing.
You definitely That's why that's why Hey, you take a look tonight.
Dodgers their tenants.
48,000 in attendance.
That's how much the Rays get for, like, an entire season.
Okay? And you take advantage of some of that revenue with the Dodgers and you signed a guy like Anthony Rent.
If you don't, you don't have to subtract.
That's how you start building death and dynasties that can win world Siris for a long period of time.
Jose Rod dodges for his Yankees Dodgers winning.
We got Love the Panda. Go Padres.
All right, welcome to a winning franchise.
Is postgame chat, huh? Jarl Obi Roberto Pollack is only good for about 97 plus games.
Pollock missed a lot of games.
We know that he's been bitten by the injury bug for the last couple of seasons, but he started to play his best baseball at the right time, and we need it.
We gate with the trade of weed.
We need power from that side, and it looks like a J.
Pollock is a guy that's ready to provide that.
If you look at a J.
Pollock Post All Star break, that's when he came back A J. Pollock.
He's hitting to 86 on base percentage.
3 52 slugging 5 54 ps of 906 and then 12 home runs.
So if you look at Post All Star break Justin Turner, 17 bombs, Cody Bellinger with 14 and then Jock and Pollack there tie with 12 and then Max Muncy comes in with 11 home runs.
So I think I think that that's gonna be that's gonna prove to be a fruitful acquisition for this Dodger team is a J.
Pollock, a cyberpunk Dodgers, a winning against the A's for one sire.
Look, I'm all blue boys and blew all day every day till I die.
But I do kind of like the A's.
If I had a pick a team, I think their uniforms are fresh.
I like the money ball.
So if we played the A's, that'd be great.
And, of course, it would be visions of 1988 against the Oakland A's, so that would be fantastic.
We know we can beat the A's like we did in 1988 may well have another Gibby moment.
Who would be the one that would have a Gibby moment.
Who would you guys think? Well, it's Ah.
Sally will be someone that was injured, right? So I could see.
Ah, I could see it be Justin Turner, right? No, I can't meet David.
Freeze would be the give the moment.
You have to admit that David freeze the ice man.
He would do that.
He would have the Gibby moment against the A's in the World Series.
You know it, Eddie. Ella.
Well, Yankees will beat the A's Ryan.
Same Dodgers win today.
Get win it in six against the Yankees, we got Cyber.
The A's your hunger when it all Adam hangs.
Dodgers don't play good in O Town, though.
They haven't had very much success kind of in one of those bugaboo teams.
Plane up there in the Oakland Coliseum.
Always rock wins has to go on tonight. Michelle.
Dodgers win four against the wild card.
Dodgers win in five for NLCS.
They went four for the world Siris.
No mofo Mo would love to see the A's take down the Astros and the Yankees.
Do you believe the Dodgers? Um, do you believe the Dodgers farewell without home against the Yankees.
I think that would be an uphill climb to have to go to Yankee Stadium with re you and Kershaw.
Against that poem line.
You saw the Yankees.
They hit nine home runs at Chavez Ravine.
That three game series, and they're going to start to get healthy.
They're gonna get Ceferino back, so that would be a tough climb.
I still think they could do it.
I still believe in this Dodger team, and I still think this Dodger team hasn't played its best baseball.
I think you need Cody Bellinger to start him like a 300 hitter.
Like I said, go to Dodgers nation dot com.
Check out the real FRG, his piece on on Cody Bellenger.
And one of the things he points out is.
Who is the real Cody Bellinger? Is it the Cody Bellinger for the first couple of months? Is it the Cody Bellinger in the last couple months, or is it really right in the middle of both? I think that I think that with how his swing is the majestic home runs that he's capable of hitting, I think I like to believe that's closer to the 300 hitter that he is right now.
Adam Kershaw's raw.
I could be a T shirt.
Kershaw's raw cyberpunk.
I don't know any what any Dodgers don't want any part of the Yankees.
I disagree. I think I think the Dodgers.
I think the Dodgers will take on any American League foe, and they'll have confidence.
And the Dodgers? They have a Don't underestimate losing two World Series in a row.
What that does to a team psyche.
What that does to a team's drive.
They see Vin Scully.
They see Sandy Koufax.
They see Tommy Lasorda.
They see Dodger fans out there like you guys like me that are desperate to raise that commissioners trophy that are desperate to pop bottles on Figueroa.
So and we're gonna post game show, too.
I mean, it could get wild.
Um, waiter Mike, I'd rather get a better starter.
Will hate Garrett calls out there.
I heard Garrett Cole might go to the Angels array bar.
See me, and I didn't realize the A's clinch the playoff spot until I saw the other day.
Ah, congrats, daughters on a great win from Marisol How's going, Marisol Adam, Hank's The West Coast world? Siris, cyberpunk.
The Dodgers will do phenomenally against the A's like the idiot world.
Let's get cold from no mofo mo.
We got, um, Michelle.
Yes, freezes clutch.
Ray Barsamian Cool shirt.
Doug piensa as oh, go get merged up! By the way, reminder Dodgers nation dot com Freshest Dodgers shirts. The game.
They're flying off the shelves right now in anticipation for the postseason, so get geared up for sure.
Um, Elm Street, Elm Street Hydro man.
Let's sweep the rays for the A's go Dodgers.
I like it. I like it.
Um, I think I need a midnight snack.
Dodger dog, please.
It's 11. 45 G's gonna late.
Ah, side want Jericho going the Yankees.
We'd be an absolute waste of town.
Hey, you see, a lot of marquee guys go to Anaheim and their their career really fizzle away.
But, um but yeah, what else? You guys, um So you guys it Maura good or bad wouldn't lose.
Always think pause about our boys in blue.
What? What you put out there is what you're gonna get back.
Hashtag l a Bleeds Blue.
Maura Ryan, I love that positive vibes all day, every day for your Dodgers.
But that is going to do it.
Dodgers get the win 45th by the way.
45 comeback wins of the year, their record now 98 54.
And the Dodgers get to get the job done.
They outlast the Rays went 75 Corey Seager two doubles now fourth in Major league Baseball and doubles with 40 on the season.
But we're gonna be coming back at you.
