I Hello, everybody, and welcome to the broadcast.
I'm Samuel Reese coming to you live right here on SportsCastr its end wsl the North Carolina Courage against the Houston Dash from shale in stadium at Wakefield meant Park in Cary, North Carolina.
Davina starting for North Carolina.
Courage. Watch out for her.
Here are the lineups.
First for the North Carolina courage angle is Stephanie Lab in the back.
Jalen Hingle, Abby Er sang Abby Dull Kemper and merit Mathias in the midfield.
Denise of Sullivan's, Samantha Mu s Davina Crystal Dunn in up top, Lynn Williams and Kristen Hamilton.
Now for the Houston Dash.
In goal is Jane Campbell in the back.
Alicia Chapman, Amber Brooks Alley Press Sock and Haley Hansen in the midfield.
Sophie Schmitt kill Oh hi, Christie Mewes, Christine Arron and Sofia Huerta And up top is Rachel Daly.
Some really good players on each team.
Jane Campbell, starting to go for the Houston Dash, has a 79 and four record with a 1 58 goals against average five shut outs.
Stephanie Lobby, meanwhile, 92 and two with a 20.
69 goals against average and six shut outs.
Rachel Daly this season and 13 games, has five goals and one assists.
That's tied for seventh in N.
So it's a star studded feel here on a Tuesday night in North Carolina for some end WSL action, We are underway.
North Carolina kicking it off if you noticed in the lineups them US sisters facing off against each other, Christie against Sam, both first round draft picks a few years back.
That's a foul, right away.
Free kick coming up for the dash.
Thanks so much for tuning in.
Everybody hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday night that fell coming on. Horta.
Sorry, the foul against Huerta.
So Houston will take the free kick.
It was thanks so much for tuning in everybody.
Courage possessing that.
Give it away, though.
Rachel Daly all over that one here comes daily.
It took a deflection wide left of the post, but a corner kick coming up for the death for the dash.
Excuse me, that's a good start for Houston.
It's been a rough year for them overall.
Great in the corner, kick coming up.
An interesting statement, all right, where they will play it in it was headed out by the courage.
But on Lee, as far as Aly Pris Sakshi sends a ball in, Rachel Daly got to that one, but not the accuracy she wanted that goes way wide of the goal goal kick coming up for the courage.
All right, North Carolina possessing at the back.
It's all Kemper playing it out wide.
You might remember Doll Kemper from the World Cup.
You probably do.
She was one of many phenomenal defenders for the U. S.
That's a nice cross.
It is stopped, though, by Sophie Schmitt of the Houston Dash.
Hey, so now it's back to North Carolina around midfield.
All the numbers are up for them.
North Carolina coming off.
Ah ah, winning a championship winning season last year.
They're the defending N WSL champions.
What a historic season they had last year.
They're not as dominant this year at all, but they're still very good.
I think they're top of the East right now.
Um, but yeah, it's a very competitive Eastern and Western conference, not cross the sent in.
Oh, that was so close.
Kristen Hamilton trying the play it over to Sam us and it got by her.
Got by Crystal Dunn as well.
This is out for a throwing the weather in Cary, North Carolina's tonight it's 77 degrees the wind heading northeast at nine miles per hour.
There is a chance of rain.
Hopefully, that will avoid the area.
I mean, rain is okay, but lightning Another story.
Thanks, Avery, for joining the broadcast.
How are you doing tonight? I appreciate you coming.
And sorry I couldn't be on your broadcast for too long earlier.
Um, but I was getting homework done, so I had to make sure I got that done.
But you did a very good job for the couple of minutes.
And yet for those of you tuning and make sure you check out Avery, he's got some really good content on SportsCastr.
He commentators has his own shows.
It's really good with NFL.
He's really good with everything.
So make sure you check out Avery on SportsCastr if you haven't already.
Here comes Rachel Daly.
She'll play it out.
Why? To Sofia. Where Tough.
Where? The scent in the box at the back post.
The bar wasn't opportunity.
Therefore, the dash was Christie Mewes at the back post.
Lob A was in no man's land for a second.
She got lucky right there And that shot from Christine us over the bar while they did well to come out, though, and, uh, make it a tough angle on Christie Mewes.
Wow, What an opportunity there.
The Mewes sisters, Christie against Sam taking on each other tonight.
All right, here's Houston at the back, now into the midfield that's intercepted.
It's intercepted there, and but that will be a Houston dash throwing in the end.
Here is the throwing taken.
Bye, Haley Hanson.
All right, the North Carolina Courage.
When it back, Here they come.
It's Abby Doll Kemper with it.
Play it to the other side, but that is out of the reach of jailing Hinkle out for a Houston dash throwing James Clarkson.
It's his first season in charge as the Houston Dash head coach.
He has a 79 and four record on the year.
It hasn't been the best season for the Houston Dash, but they're definitely capable to turn around.
They're still in the playoff on, but they can't let it get away from them.
It's a courage throwing here.
Just it will be Haley Hanson to take the throw the dash as I mentioned a 794 record there on 25 points in seventh place, although it's really close from really from really third to seventh Onley eighth.
The nights are really the ones.
Orlando and Sky Blue are the ones that are out of reach of playoff contention.
You could safely say, but all the rest of the field definitely still alive for a playoff contention.
Here comes North Carolina.
Hamilton has it.
It's stolen, though, and that will deflect.
It will stay in bounds, in fact.
So the courage when it right back great this cross sent in and it might have took a deflection off a dash defender, I am not sure, but it doesn't look like it looks like it will be a throw for Houston.
Watch out for Sam us.
We saw what she could do at the World Cup.
She's just as good as in the N W s.
L tell you that, All right, it'll be handsome to take the throw to Rachel Daly, but Rachel Daly passes it right back, and that goes out of bounds for a North Carolina throwing.
I just can't afford to make those mistakes right there.
And Rachel Daly? You could argue the best player on this Houston Dash team.
It's surprising that she was the one that made that mistake right there.
That's a nice ball over the top.
It will get to Rachel Daly.
She has it on the right in the right corner, going one V one here plays it back.
Oh, the Cross sent in and that will be headed up and easily caught by Stephanie.
Lobby of the Dash.
Have it so fish mint at midfield.
It's now out wide thanks with Elisa Chapman.
Up to daily here is Christine Mewes, Christie Mewes going well along with their sister, and that is one by Davina in midfield.
Here come the North Carolina courage.
They win it right back.
This is played out wide.
Jalen Hynkel will play it all the way back to Stephanie.
Lobby the goalkeeper of North Carolina.
Courage for those of you who are Ah, World Woman's World Cup fans tuned into that, you might remember LA Bay, um, as the Canadian goalkeeper that ball's that sent in from jailing ankle, but put a little too much on it.
It is handled by Jane Campbell.
So the serious history between these two teams well, North Carolina League 60 in one all time North Carolina, outscoring Houston 22 to 4 in North Carolina won both meetings this season.
So the courage have absolutely dominated UM, the Houston dash in their whole history of playing each other.
Uh, let's see if the Houston Dash can turn that around and get their first win ever against the courage they had seven opportunities to do so Maybe the eighth one's a charm.
Will have to wait and see that ball played through the Rachel Daly, but it's dealt with by Abby ER.
***ual played back to lob a.
Now it's out to handle angle.
Put under some pressure on that stolen by the dash, so we're past the 10 minute mark.
Now it's the North Carolina courage nil, the Houston National in some mid week end.
Thanks so much for treating everybody.
I appreciate it a lot.
Hope you're having a good Tuesday night.
That ball played down the line to no one in particular that will go out of bounds for a courage throwing Paul Riley.
It's his third season as the North Carolina head coach.
His record with them, 45 12 and five.
I mean, that is pretty remarkable.
The courage have a 12 4 and four record 40 points.
First place in the East.
The Courage clinched the playoffs with a winner tie here.
So ah, what's up on the line here in the Houston Dash? Uh, pretty much need a win tonight to stay in that playoff hunt and the courage without losing our into the playoffs.
So yeah, a lot at stake in this game.
We're getting closer and closer to the N W s sell playoffs, which I'm very much looking forward to.
I'll call those games right here on SportsCastr.
You know, it's just three playoff games.
In total, it's two semifinal games and the final.
There are just nine teams in the league since the Boston Breakers unfortunately folded.
They were my favorite team in and WSL since I do live pretty close to Boston.
But that was unfortunate.
Eso it used to be 10.
Only the top four make the playoffs semi final and Final one game elimination.
All right, this ball is played out wide.
Here come the courage Hinkle, who's been involved quite a bit so far in this game.
She crosses it in.
Nice tackle, though.
Bye, Sofia Huerta.
It goes out for a North Carolina courage corner kick.
So a great opportunity here for the courage alien.
Henkel has six assist this season that's tied for this.
Tied for second most in N W s l.
So she is the playmaker, all right.
The corner kick will be taken by Davina.
It wasn't that good of a corner kick, but it will go right back out for another corner kick.
So the bean, you will get a second chance here.
The lighting is kind of weird at the stadium.
It's pretty dark near the corner flag.
It's hard to ah to tell what the numbers are. Of the players.
Yeah, the lighting's not the best, uh, near the corner flag.
Here's the corner kick and the cross sent in header.
Oh, Abby Erceg trying to play it back across the box.
No one was there, but the cards are still on the attack here.
Houston has all numbers back here is Crystal Dunn.
Crystal done trying to get the cross off, and that will be deflected out for a corner kick.
So another opportunity here for the courage.
That was a nice service.
That time from Davina.
You got through everyone.
Somehow Mathias sent it in the box.
Abby Erceg sent it back the other way with her head.
No one could get on the end of that, though.
That was a nice ball service, first of all, from Davina in a nice header from Earth.
Segue back across goal.
But unfortunately for the courage, nobody could get to that one.
All right, here's another corner kick that air.
Who goes just wide of the post? Why the left? That wasn't a bad header from Sam Us.
She's It was a nice service there, and Mewes was all alone with an opportunity.
It wasn't a bad head or sending it, sending it far post a glancing header.
Samantha Mewes was part of the 2017 n wsl best 11.
She definitely has the possibility to be in the best 11 this year as well.
So North Carolina, with a few opportunities right there off the bat were 15 minutes in its North Carolina courage.
No, the Houston dash building.
So much for tuning in here on SportsCastr.
Hope you're enjoying the broadcasts album and hope to look all right, Davina trying to get on to this one.
But Campbell is out in time to make the save.
If Davina had got to that one, that could have easily been a goal for North Carolina.
Ares using all right, throwing coming up for the courage single will take the throw.
Oh, Rachel Daly almost intercepted that.
Throwing it eventually found its way to Sam Us.
The courage. Still, with possession of the ball.
Here's Crystal Dunn burst of speed from her.
She still has it, but then it's played out wide.
And that will be dealt with.
Bye, Haley Hanson.
But the courage have it right back.
Yours, Abby are segue playing it across the back over to merit Mathias.
And then they're shifting.
Do you hear? Just so Yeah, The Houston Dash.
Already defending Quite a bit since the start of this game.
If North Carolina possessed like this for the rest of this game, the Houston dash, you're gonna tire quickly.
What And yet the more possession for North Carolina them or they make the dash run around, the better for the courage.
The Houston dash have it here.
It's played out wide.
Haley Hansen has it bad touch, though, from Christine Air.
And here come the courage.
It's Hinkle plays a to Mewes Mewes hasem space plays at the Crystal Dunn Crystal Dunn.
A ball over the top to Davina.
Davina falls down.
Not enough for a foul, but the courage in on goal it's saved was an opportunity there.
Kristen Hamilton found herself in on goal off of a Siri's of deflections, but a big safe from Jane Campbell of the Dash.
And that keeps this game at a score of 00 Wow, here's angle.
Oh, nice tackle there from Sophie Schmitt and ah Hansen now shielding it from Hinkle.
And that will go over the touchline for a goal kick.
Yeah, that opportunity.
A minute ago, Crystal Dunn with a nice ball over the top.
Ah, but Davina couldn't get to it.
And then I believe it was Yeah, it was Ali prisoner trying to clear it, but it hit off of done and put Kristen Hamilton in on goal, and she got a right foot to that one.
But it was saved by Jane Jane Campbell.
All right, here come the dash.
Christie Mewes to Rachel Daly.
Numbers getting up for the dash.
That's a bad ball from daily, though, and Dominion with a nice touch. Well done.
And here come the courage the other way.
Davina will play it over the Sam u ous.
I'm us over to O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan will play that wine back to O'Sullivan, and now the courage just taking a little bit of time scheme has was very fast paced for the last two minutes.
What? It's calmed down a little bit in the last minute or so.
The courage just happy to possess right now, waiting for the right opportunity to break through and create another goal scoring opportunity.
The North Carolina Courage. The last two games.
September 11th they defeated Portland six mil, and then Saturday they defeated Orlando, 61 Wow, that's just remarkable.
I mean, 12 goals scored, one allowed in their last two games.
Well, we'll see if they keep that up tonight.
They definitely had some opportunities to put some goals on the board but haven't been able to do so quite yet.
But, um, but yeah, I mean, for them to be Portland six.
That's that's what's the most surprising.
Once again, the courage do.
Clinched the playoffs with a win or a tie tonight.
That's a foul on Christie Mewes.
Last fouling Crystal Dunn? Yeah. Obvious.
Easy call for the referee there, No doubt about it.
And it will be a free kick for the courage.
All right, So the so Jane Campbell setting up our wall here, the ball coming in from it looks like it will be Davina.
There's two players lining up for this free kick.
This is a big opportunity for the courage for 20 minutes, and it's the North Carolina courage zero.
The Houston Dash zero.
But I have a feeling that could change very soon.
All right, this will be an in swinger, and I don't know what that was.
That ball sent in from J lean angle.
Maybe a little too tricky from the courage.
They had a trick play there, but they may be over complicated things because that ball wasn't even close to getting in the box.
Waste of an opportunity there for the courage and it's a dash.
All right, Campbell to take the kick.
Mewes wins the header, and here are the courage.
Oh, Williams lost it.
Nice tackle from Christine US.
It does go out for a corner kick, another corner kick coming up for the courage.
So I'm assuming Davina will take the corner.
I'll know it went out for a throw. I apologize.
I didn't even notice that it went out for a throw.
Almost a corner kick? Not quite.
Henkel has it at the corner and well done there.
Well done there by Christine, there to kick it off of Hingle.
And when the throwing.
So Fishman playing it back to Amber Brooks back to Sophie Schmitt, this game taking place at Salem Stadium.
If the if the courage don't lose this game, they are into the playoffs.
That's what's at stake here in the Houston dash, pretty much needed when you have the courage, clinched the playoffs with a win or tied tonight.
All right, it's that wide back into the middle, Sam.
Davina with a nice bit of skill, gets it to Mewes.
Mewes turning the shot.
It is blocked, but Mewes wins it right back.
Mewes places across all he was tell with by the dash.
My goodness, what an opportunity There for the North Carolina courage.
She kept winning the ball back on two or three occasions.
The cross sent in from done.
Oh, that ball played out of the reach of Davina.
And that will roll into Jane Campbell.
So we're at the midway point of the first half of 00 Between the dash and the courage and some Tuesday night end WSL action.
Yeah, Mewes playing lacrosse goal.
But it was Ali Pris sock there.
I mean, if if if she wasn't there, then the courage would have had a goal guaranteed.
This ball is played back to lob a tight.
It's out wide to Abby Erceg back to lob a lobby, trying to get it to done.
Houston Dash with a nice press here, but the courage able to get out of it.
The genius still has it.
And she might have gone fell there.
It's a foul on Christie Mewes.
Davino is taken down.
So a free kick coming up for the courage.
It's been pretty much all North Carolina so far.
Might have been Oh, hi, Actually, who committed the foul? Let's see here.
Originally, and then Mewes came in.
But yeah, pretty much.
Three players were in there for the dash to take the beam.
You down? That's how good she is.
She is so skillful on the ball and a free kick coming now, Coming right up now for the for the courage Dominion will take this one.
It looks like I was just best.
I just Oh, sure who you are.
Here's the free kick.
Davina will know she'll run over it.
Mewes will send it in toward the back post.
But that is not in the area of any courage players that will go out for a goal kick.
I mean, Sophie Schmitt just got completely beat by Davina and selfish Schmidt is a great player.
I mean, there's nothing you can do to slow the being it down.
She is one heck of a player.
You know, we saw that displayed at the World Cup.
Um, Brazil, going out earlier than they would've liked losing that France.
And I believe that was the quarterfinals if I'm not mistaken.
But what a game that was at the World Cup went to extra time.
Yeah, that that was Ah, fun. Fun Game.
25 minutes and it's the North Carolina Courage zero.
The Houston Dash zero The Dash have it.
Here is Crystal Dunn.
Crystal Dunn plays that ball over the top.
It was intended for Kristen Hamilton, but its way in front of her.
It goes all the way to Jane Campbell, and she'll play it with their feet to Sophie Schmitt, Sam or end of your cell action.
Coming up tomorrow at 10 Eastern time, the Seattle Rain taken on the Utah Royals.
That should be a good game.
I won't be on the call for that one.
That's way too late, all right, usually on the call for an WSL games. Once in a while.
If there's nothing else on like tonight, I mean, I would broadcast the Red Sox, but I'm just done with them this year, but I will be commentating on.
They'll be playoffs once that comes around, no matter who's in it.
Um, even though I'm a die hard Red Sox fan, I know they're not going to go, not going to be in it, But, um, I'll still commentate playoffs for you.
It would be a little less exciting for me, since my team won't be in it, but very disappointing season for the Red Sox.
And I'll be I'll continue commentating NFL like I've been doing Monday and Thursday night games for the most part, um, and then Patriots games on Sunday.
So it's been fun.
And then when Bruins and Celtics their season comes around shot from us, it goes wide left of the goal.
Nice opportunity there for the courage.
That wasn't a bad try from Sam us.
Well, outside the box, I had some place on it, right footed shot from us.
And if North Carolina courage keep creating opportunities like these, surely they will get a gold before the half.
Samantha Mewes, part of the 2017 and WSL Best 11 here is Davina.
It's been all North Carolina so far who renew with a burst of speed place that watcher Williams Williams has it.
The crosses in the shot by the media and took a deflection it saved by Campbell.
Nice save there for Campbell, and she's really keeping the dash in this game, quite frankly, A little smart.
Kanda Venus face.
She probably can't believe that she doesn't have a goal yet.
A nice ball and a bean.
You with the shot, and it did take a deflection.
Campbell either Go back to our right.
Nice save there on the corner kick. Coming right up.
Davina once again to take the corner.
That's a low ball played in.
It makes its way through.
It was shot on by Lynn Williams, and it will go out for a courage throwing Wow, that made its way through everybody in the box pretty much before.
Lynn Williams was on the end of that one.
Thanks so much for training, and everybody hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
It's and WSL live coverage here on SportsCastr the Houston Dash at the North Carolina Courage on this Tuesday night.
That's a nice ball playing to Davina Davina in the box.
Sophie Schmitt, this time able to deal with her.
She'll kick it out for a North Carolina throwing Smith.
It's Jason throwing chicken.
The cross was sent in by Lynn Williams.
What? That was blocked.
But the courage when it right back.
Crystal Dunn has it done.
Still has it sends in the cross.
And, oh, that was a dangerous play.
The North Carolina courage scored, but that was a dangerous play from Kristen Hamilton and that did not look good at all.
I don't know who is who is who is down for the dash, but she took a cleat to the face.
Dangerous play there.
Let's see what happened here.
Christine Hamilton just going up for that ball.
And it was It was Chapman who's down on the ground.
I mean, she took a cleat right to the face that did not look good at all.
Obviously, it wasn't intentional from Hamilton, but still hurt.
Her boot shouldn't be all the way up there.
And Elissa Chapman doesn't seem too happy about it, either.
A drink? Yeah, she did got cleat right to the job.
That does not feel good at all.
So she just needs a little time.
It seems like here, So we're past the half hour mark.
About 15 minutes to go in the first half.
the North Carolina Courage nil, the Houston National.
So, yeah, it looks like she'll be all right.
Yeldon back here.
Yeah, just taking a cleat right to the face that did not look pleasant at all, But she will walk it off.
Still in some pain, it seems like, but not bad enough to to force her out of the game.
The referee on the night is Thomas Snyder.
No card, given their, you know, it's definitely a card could have been given.
But I can see why wasn't the goal kick taken by Jane Campbell or the free kick.
I should say the courage, though, when it back the dash haven't been able to have any good spells of possession.
They have been pretty much defending this whole half.
All right, it's out wide angle with the ball.
O'Sullivan to done done will play to Mewes us all the way out, one that might have been a foul, but Mewes will send it in.
Nice cross, the hetero.
The goal. What opportunity? There.
Nice run by Lynn Williams to the back post, and it was a nice ball from Sam us.
That was an unbelievable ball right there from Sam Us and then Lynn Williams there for the header.
I think she should have sent it back across goal towards the back post.
Go talk top of the gold, but it goes over the bar.
Jane Campbell would have had that covered, I think, but still nonetheless, a great opportunity once again missed for the, UH, North Carolina courage.
They have eight shots in the game.
Houston dash with three.
Well, that what an opportunity there for the courage.
You just You just got to think that the goal is coming soon for them.
All right, you're here are the dash. Christine.
Us hasn't looking for daily, but that is intercepted by O'Sullivan and the courage takeover possession once again.
All right, here's done.
That is one by Sophie Schmitt, though, and the tackle is won by O'Sullivan.
Though your Crystal Dunn Crystal Dunn thinks she wants a shot, she takes it.
Jane Campbell covered that part of the goal, though.
Well, it was, and it's still 00 Although North Carolina courage definitely dominating this game so far.
One injured the 19th in league with tonight, being the first tickets for tonight's game handed out area.
All right, Sophia hasn't Crystal Dunn wins it done with a nice pass up to Lynn Williams, but it's one right back.
Nice tackle there from Allie Pris Sock.
And the courage have possession once again has deflected out for a Houston throwing equalizer in extra time.
Hansen will take the throne one right back. Bye. Hey, the courage.
I've been many spells of possession in the last minute or two.
Let's see, though, if the courage can create an opportunity here.
Mewes taken advantage of a lot of space.
Nice ball through the cross.
Sending it is well dealt with, though, by a list of Chapman it will be out for a North Carolina throwing.
Thanks so much for all of you tuning in.
We're 35 minutes in.
It's the North Carolina courage zero.
The Houston Dash zero is that Oh, bad past there and it will be a Houston throw.
Not sure what that was.
Don't and pretty crazy how it's still nil. Nil.
It could be 234 No North Carolina by now, but just not able to take advantage of the opportunities they have created.
But sooner rather than later.
You think they will.
Sofia Schmidt Here.
Sophie Sophie Schmitt, I should say Paula Rachel Daly.
Rachel Daly, in cuts back, tried to play it through like she might have got foul.
Nothing is called and it's one right back by the dash, though.
That could have been a really, really chance for, Ah, Rachel Daly there the dash.
But she had no one really to support her.
It was her all by herself, against the whole North Carolina defense.
It seemed like this will be played to the to the corner.
It will be shielded out by merit.
Mathias Gold kick coming up for the courage.
Welcome back on that opportunity.
So be Schmidt with a nice Balto Rachel Daly.
I thought when she cut back in the lower left foot, she would go with the shot, the side that trying to play a ball with the right foot out wide, but it was intercepted by the courage a little too unselfish.
There perhaps probably should have just taken it herself.
In a game where you know the dash aren't gonna get that many opportunities.
You have to take advantage of half chances when they come around.
That's a nice ball played through but is lost.
Kristen Hamilton had it, but the Houston dash were all over her.
It's out for a courage throw.
So it is Hingle to take the throw.
You're a Sam U ous us over to Davina.
Davina tried to chip it over the defense of the dash.
She's in with that tackle.
It will be a Houston throw here.
All right, So here's the throw being taken by the dash right around midfield.
Heather O'Reilly is warming up.
We'll see if she gets into the game what a courier she's had.
It was kind of strange because although she retired from international from playing internationally, I should stay with the U.
I don't know what was a year or two ago.
Um, she's still playing club.
Obviously, she's with the courage for those of you who don't know, Um and, uh, but it was kind of strange because the n w cell went on through the World Cup, but she she stepped away from the team and travelled to France not to play, but to be an ****yst for Fox Sports.
You might have seen her in the studio at Pasta, Truck and Arrow for Fox Sports throughout the World Cup.
Um, she was a pretty good ****yst.
She was part of that Fox sports crew breaking down all the matches in France during the World Cup, so she wasn't playing.
But she she did take a break from Club Soccer in the World Cup to do something differently.
Involved with the Women's World Cup here is Crystal Dunn.
Crystal Dunn will play it out wide.
Hinkel, on the end of this one left footed cross at the edge of the box, punched away by Campbell, and it will be cleared out, and that will rule out for a throwing right near the corner flag.
Campbell's been good so far for the dash, keeping North Carolina scoreless as of now.
All right, the throwing taken North Carolina. Courage.
There are a lot of defense all the way up in front of midfield.
It is Abby Erceg.
With it, it's over to Hingle.
Burst of speed from the Sullivan Nice ball over to Hamilton.
It is cleared out by the dash just in time before Hamilton could get on the end of that one but it's right Back with the courage were 40 minutes in the North Carolina courage nil, the Houston national throwing coming up for the courage.
So we are approaching halftime.
We'll see how much stoppage time there will be added.
On to the end of this first half shop. I done.
Oh, what a save by Campbell out of nowhere, really done with the left foot.
It's shot from outside the box.
It was a deadly one to actually from just inside the box. Nice.
Say bye camp by Campbell.
My goodness, She got her left hand to that one that was going in big time, saved from Jane Campbell in another corner kick coming up for North Carolina.
Wow, That was a nice effort.
From Crystal down on the corner kick taken to the near post, headed out by the dash.
It's back to the courage.
It's Hynkel with the ball.
We'll play it across the back over to dull Kemper.
It's more space faces.
So you're quite a few players who were involved in the World Cup playing this one, not just for the U. S.
Rachel Daly, of course, for England, she's on the dash.
Use and Dash, actually, the only team in the end.
WSL that had no players, uh, for the U.
At the World Cup. So it's almost half time.
Four minutes plus stoppage time left until the half.
It's the North Carolina courage nil, the Houston National.
Although North Carolina courage really dominating this game so far as expected, it's been a tough season for the Dash.
But if they can cling on to this to this nil nil score line heading into halftime, maybe they can get some confidence heading into the second half that they really can close out.
Um, remember the courage with a win or a draw, a winner, a tie.
They are into the playoffs.
They're currently first in the Eastern Conference, continuing where they left off from last year, winning the whole thing.
Well, that's a bad touch from Kayla.
Oh, hi, throwing coming up for the courage that's deflected off a selfish mint.
Another throwing coming coming up for the courage just a few yards further up.
So it will be Hinkle to take the throne.
One touch back from Crystal Dunn to Hinkle that will go out of play.
I want to stop and start in the last minute or so, so Abby Er Sang will play it over to the other. Abby.
Abby. Dull Kemper out there.
Part of the United States woman's national team squad at the World Cup.
One touch from Davina back over to Mathias.
But that ball was played down the line.
It goes out of play.
Houston Dash Throwing.
Yeah, Houston Dash will definitely be the happier the two if this scoreline holds heading into the break because North Carolina will definitely think they should be in the lead by now.
I think so as well.
They could've been up 34 nothing even, but just some missed opportunities.
And give credit to Jane Campbell, the keeper of the dash.
He's been coming up big this first half, keeping them in the game years.
Abby Doll Kember.
She has some space.
She will play it out wide to Hingle, and that is played out of bounds.
Haley Hanson Throwing Coming up for the courage.
A unique night, the Mewes sister's taking on each other.
Sam us against Christine.
Us here is Christine.
US, in fact, plays it right by Sam US.
Here's Rachel Daly She's all by herself pretty much on the attack for the dash, waiting for some numbers to get forward.
She will play that wide to Christine there, and Nan will play it back to Sofia Huerta.
Hilly Hansen now has it plays the ball down the line trying to get to Huerta.
But they were not on the same page There.
Lob a coming out to play that up to earth, Sagar said over the doll Kemper.
So we're approaching stoppage time.
The possession so far in this one.
North Carolina 62% possession Houston Dash have had a 38% of the time.
Yeah, I was guessing it was around 65 35.
That sounds about right.
It's out wide to Hinkle.
Angled earth Segue per se.
Has it around midfield place into O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan too dull.
Kemper doll camper will play that wide to Hamilton.
There will be a minimum of two minutes of stoppage time added on to the end of this first half.
What that is one and that will be played out. North Carolina.
Throw and keep coming up.
The Houston dash have been all right.
Decent defense, but they haven't been able to keep possession once they steal a ball.
It's been right back out of player, right back to the courage.
And yeah, if if the courage keep this up in the second half, um, with it with a ton of possession just dominating the game.
I mean, you have to imagine the Houston Dash will start to get a little bit tired anyways, especially with a midweek game both teams playing at the weekend here.
It's past 20 that is lost with Castle in William's Old us.
With that shot, it goes wide, the courage claiming and took a deflection.
That's, That's, Ah, not the first chance for Sam US this game.
Lynn Williams lost it, but Christie Mewes couldn't handle it.
He went to Sam us.
She took the shot non about effort, just curling wide of the of the goal just wide right of the goal.
Jane Campbell did seem to have it covered, but still would have been a nice chance if that was put on goal.
And that might be the last really good opportunity for either team.
This half, especially the courage.
So here is Denise O'Sullivan, O'Sullivan, the Dun Dun turns done, taken advantage of the space.
It's on driving forward advantage.
Given the shot, it will go wide of the goal, and that should do it for the first half.
Maybe the goal kick will be taken, and then half time will be called.
That's what I'm thinking anyway.
Yes, so Crystal Dunn turning and turning on the Jets.
The shot wasn't what she wanted in the end.
Not enough accuracy or power on that one, And that should do it.
It's halftime, folks.
The North Carolina courage nil, the Houston dash nil.
It's been a pretty entertaining first half.
Houston Dash Happy with the scoreline.
North Carolina Courage.
They'll be a little bit disappointed to come out empty handed.
This first shot.
But the good news is they got 45 more minutes to score a goal, and with this result, they would be into the playoffs.
Here is the coach of the North Carolina Courage whole Riley.
He's getting them in those spaces, and in the last 25 minutes we dominated the game.
They're going great spaces when they feel the thing is get sent up.
That six Roland gettinto higher area into the April needs of the 10 role in dealing with the ball in.
And it sort of the fullest get good area right now that they got the backs of the gold.
Too much needs again facing the Golan.
Get the full last 11.
I was so far, so good can attack you.
Gonna watch the dangers in the campus. Thanks.
All right, So there's Paul Riley is halftime interview? Um, boy as he had a lot of success with the North Carolina Cartridges.
Third season in charge.
It's nil nil at the half.
I'll be back in around 15 minutes.
I may have a halftime report.
I'll see, but make sure you tune in.
Stay tuned in everybody.
I'll be right back on Samuel Reese Live right here on SportsCastr Its end.
Wsl the Houston Dash at the North Carolina Courage.
And welcome back to the broadcast over having a wonderful Tuesday night.
The second half is underway in Cary, North Carolina.
It's the North Carolina courage hosting the Houston dash Nil nil at the half.
Thanks so much for tuning, and I really do appreciate it.
Hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
Everybody a lot of opportunities created for the courage in the first half, but they couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.
Let's see if they can do so this second half.
She created some opportunities in that for a staff place that why the Crystal Dunn Dunn will get the Crossing.
But that will go over the goal and out of play for a goal kick right off the bat.
North Carolina coming at the Houston dash.
So the goal kick will be taken by Jane Campbell, but by Houston not allowing a goal in that first.
After I will give them some confidence in the second half, they'll just keep on doing what they've been doing.
Um, even if that takes a lot of defending, remember the courage clinch a playoff berth with a win.
So that's what's up for a stake here.
This will be played back to Stephanie LOB A for us, and now North Carolina possessing at the back.
All right. O'Sullivan has it.
She'll play back to Earth, *** or segue back to O'Sullivan.
We're done with a nice ball there.
It's played through move, but Lynn Williams couldn't get on the end of that ball and for the dash to really stay in contention for the playoffs, they pretty much need to win this game.
So this is a huge game for both teams because the courage can punch their tickets in the playoffs.
The Dash needs to stay in the playoffs by winning.
They have a 794 record 25 points in seventh place here, a Sam U ous All the Crystal Dunn ah, hospital ball of sorts.
When it goes right back to Samuel, she plays it to O'Sullivan, but it's stolen there.
Nice job by Ojai to win that ball for the dash.
It's played up to Christy Mewes.
Plays it down the middle, dealt with by her segue.
It's back to lob a lobby out wide to Abby doll Kemper.
Joel Kemper will play that ball down the line Turnover force, though.
Here come the dash.
Rachel Daly has it.
She'll play it out wide to Narron.
It makes its way, actually over to Haley Hanson.
Sending in the cross is dealt with by the courage, but back to Sophie Schmitt, Sophie Schmitt playing into their hair out. Why? To Ojai.
Oh, hi will lose it.
O'Sullivan takes over a plane It's a dull Kemper, the old camper up to Mewes, Sam U.
That ISS, both of them US sisters playing tonight.
That ball from us put a little too much on it, tried to play it out.
Why, Julen Williams? But it goes over the sideline out for a Houston dash throwing here, Sam Use.
Why, with Davina, there is a chance of rain in the forecast, but it'll so far, so good.
It was raining before the game, but it's turned out to be a nice night in North Carolina.
Nice job by Williams gets the cross in back out to Dun Dun with a burst of speed.
It's cleared out for a corner kick.
Dangerous in the box Looking back on this sequence of events here, Lynn Williams getting by elicits Chapman and then Crystal done with the cross.
So Fishman able to get her foot to that one itself for corner kick.
Here's the corner kick, Abby doll.
Post opinion will send it back into the box.
What is cleared out by the dash.
Thanks so much for joining and everybody hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
It's N W s L Action between the North Carolina Courage in Houston Dash.
Here come the dash.
With that, she's one on one with Doc.
Ever will show it from deep.
It goes wide left of the goal.
Not a bad effort there.
From Hanson, she was all by herself, up top for the dash.
Her shot does go wide left, taking advantage of of of mistake in the midfield by the courage stealing it from Lynn Williams getting the shot off.
It was high and wide, though.
Here comes the courage the other way and well done by Chapman.
It's out for a corner kick Series discuss So corner coming up right now for the courage.
They had a lot of corner kicks back in the first half.
Perhaps continuing this half, you'll be merit Mathias to take the corner.
It will be an out swinger with the right foot.
We'll see what kind of delivery he has right here.
Not too good of a delivery in the end right into the hands of Jane Campbell.
Easy to deal with, and she will now wait for numbers to get forward.
And I'm assuming she will put this long.
No, she'll put it on the floor.
Kick that one down around midfield, the header one by the courage and Mewes takes over at midfield Sam us, that is taking a advantage of that space.
Sophie Schmitt intercepted the past, though the ref got in the way of that one.
It's back with courage.
It's all Kemper do. O'Sullivan.
Davina plays it out wide.
The cross sent in the header.
The bar was an opportunity there for the courage.
It was a nice cross.
Send in the header by Lynn Williams just was leaning back a little bit.
Nice cross from Kristen Hamilton.
Yeah, Lynn Williams was just leaning back a bit, and Sylvie Schmitz pass was interfered with by the referee.
She seems frustrated with about it, too.
I don't blame her because the Houston Dash haven't had many good spells of possession and the one time they actually had the ball, it was it went right back to the courage because of the ref getting in the way.
That's a nice ball through.
Here's oh, hi, It's a left footed shot, but it's a slow roller into the hands of lob A.
No worries for the courage there.
All right, the courage.
Have it in midfield.
It's Denise O'Sullivan playing it to Sam.
You asem us back to O'Sullivan.
Sullivan, with a nice outside the right foot, pass out wide to merit Mathias back in the middle.
O'Sullivan will play to Davina Davina dribbling at the Houston defense.
She might have been fouled there.
Nothing is called, though.
I'm surprised nothing was called there.
It looks like it looked like she was taken down.
That doesn't matter anyway, because the dash give it right back to the courage.
Here are the courage picking right up where they left off in the second half.
The same theme as well. They're not able.
They been able to possess a lot and create some chances.
Just not able to score.
So far, the cross sent in.
It's dealt with by the Houston defense, but it's another corner kick for the current.
Can they finally take advantage of a corner kick opportunity? Yeah, pris Sock was there to deal with that cross, just making sure she got a foot to that one.
If that had gotten by her, North Carolina would have definitely had an opportunity for a gold.
I still do right here.
Corner kick coming in from the courage will be an in swinger from Davina Smith.
Schmidt is there with the header and it's back out to O'Sullivan.
She will play it off of Chapman for the throwing.
The cross is sent in, but there's a whistle from the referee.
What do we got here? Well, a foul throw, he's saying.
Well, that took a while for him to call.
And you don't see that too much at the professional level of foul throw being called.
I just got that interesting.
So still nil nil in this one.
We're 55 minutes in North Carolina.
Houston Dash zero has been a pretty fun game.
Um, North Carolina, Definitely.
With the majority of the chances, just not able to get a goal on the board, that's what.
Maybe that's what's made this on interesting game because Houston Dash are getting confidence by the minute, although they are probably tiring by the minute as well.
Christy Mewes will play it back to her goal keeper.
Campbell Under some pressure.
She got it off in time.
The slide tackle coming in from Kristen Hamilton.
Imagine if she had blocked that kick from Campbell came awfully close to doing so.
The dash still have it, and that's a foul on Sam.
US. Free kick coming up for the dash.
S is just such a big person.
It wasn't she didn't really intend to take Christine there and down.
But that is what happened.
It's a free kick coming up for the dash.
Let's see if the dash can strike here.
If the Dashwood a score a goal.
My, oh my, would that be incredible? Because they have had pretty much no chances until they've had a few to be fair.
But for the most part, it's been the courage, with so many chances, still unable to put the ball in the back of the net.
A nice service, and I still haven't where the battling nothing is called.
She was looking for the penalty kick call.
The shot. It goes wide.
What a shot there from outside of the box, Whole craziness inside the box going on whereto went down.
That could have been called a penalty on Hinkle.
I think it might have been Wow, the courage.
Fortunate to get away with a no call there and the score st.
00 Wow, here's O'Sullivan of Sullivan plays it back to Earth's Eggar.
Segue out wide to Hinkle that ball sent in.
Hit, and that will go out for a Houston goal kick.
All right, here's a look at the N W S L standing.
So the North Carolina Courage on fourth in first place Excuse me with 40 points.
The Chicago Red Stars in second with 38 the Portland Thorns in third place with 36 then the Utah Royals have that last playoff spot with 31 points.
But when the rain also have 31 it's really close in the rest.
Houston against Washington that's coming up Wednesday, September 25th.
So a week from tomorrow at 9 p.m.
Eastern time, there is a possibility I'll be on the call for that may be the first half anyway.
It's kind of kind of late for a school night for me, but, uh, yeah, there is a possibility of that.
Yeah, that's a good game.
The Houston dash against the Washington Spirit, Um, next Wednesday at nine Eastern time Has Washington Spirit, of course, have Roosevelt and Mallory Pugh.
They get some good crowds as well to their games, all with a flick by Davina that is world class right there.
And here comes Davina.
We'll try to play through while it got through the Hamilton, but it's cleared out for a throwing.
Wow! Take would have been a skill, thereby Davina flicking it right by Mewes to O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan plays it right back to Davina Davina, who has two goals and three assists in the last two games.
She is on a roll, and the goals have come easy for North Carolina.
The last two games.
12 goals in the last two games, six nil in 61 But today it's not coming as easy at all.
Still no goals on the board at the hour mark, it's North Carolina courage. Zero.
The Houston dash 60 minutes down, 30 to go from Wake Med Park and Cary, North Carolina.
What a facility that is.
I haven't been there.
My dad has because he's college soccer coach, So there are showcases there that is out for a corner kick.
So corner kick coming up, Your for the courage. Another one.
I'm interested to know how many corner kicks that the courage have had this game.
It must be, at least in double digits.
By now, there's been some quality service is they'll play it short to Mewes.
Mewes sends it in and in Swinger, the heather goes wide.
It doesn't even go out of bounds.
In the end, the Houston dash will take over in bounds and try to counter the other way.
But that will just be sent up field and out of bounds for a North Carolina throwing, say the 2019 n.
S L Championship will actually take place at this stadium and Cary, North Carolina.
That will be October 27th at 3 30 Eastern time.
There's a very high probability that I'll be on the call for that the championship game.
So if the North Carolina courage war to make it all the way, which is very possible they'd have a home game in the championship.
Um, you know, it's predetermined.
So plus they probably have the nicest facility overall to host a final out of all the teams.
I mean, there's some really nice stadiums, no doubt about it.
But, um, you know, college cups have been held here.
Um, they said the icy See the woman's I see.
See here, obviously the North Korean.
The currents were part of that, but still, that's up for a throwing, courage throwing take taking place near the corner flag.
Thanks so much for tuning and everybody hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
You're on SportsCastr.
It's N W s L action between the Houston Dash in the North Carolina Courage for the Courage.
It's their third game in the last six days.
That's that's That's tough right there.
That's a tough stretch.
Playing three games in six days.
Um, you know, the later we get into this game, the North Carolina courage will probably start to get physically tired, physically fatigued.
That's definitely a possibility, since this is their third game in the last six days.
Yeah, by the way, I would.
I very much would love to be commentating Champions League games here on SportsCastr, but unfortunately, because of the time of the games at three o'clock, that's right when I get home from school and I got to get some homework done and stuff and I just don't have enough time to prepare for the broadcast.
If I were to commentate those games, that's why, unfortunately, I can't do Champions League.
I mean I mean, maybe, Ah, well, no, definitely when I have an off day of school from every reason I don't know holiday or something and there's Champions League games, I'll definitely call that, and the final as well is on is on the weekend.
But that's not until many months from now.
But that's unfortunately why I'm I'm not gonna be calling Champions League on here for school days.
I'm usually limited to calling games at night just because I have to get all my own work done and, you know, get situated.
Um, so yeah, and sometimes I'll be late to the broadcast because certain broadcast, because I do go to my high school sports games.
A substitution being made by the North Carolina courage will be Kristen Hamilton coming off Jessica McDonald coming and MacDonald was with the U.
S Woman's national team at the World Cup.
Didn't get much playing time but still is part of that squad.
I'm a little surprised he doesn't start for the courage, but she's into the game now, trying to make an impact.
The first substitution made this game For Jessica McDonald.
It's their seventh season in the N W s L.
She's a veteran, you could say, Um, but yeah, I'd love to do Champions League, but unfortunately can.
And yeah, and I'm pretty close to being, um, to being the commentator for my high school first sports games.
So I'm very much looking forward to that.
Um, I'm having non interview What kind of a meeting about it tomorrow? Um, so hopefully I'm hoping by next week it's too open.
Um, I can get it going, but for whatever.
If, for whatever reason, I couldn't have SportsCastr here, I'll still be doing SportsCastr broadcast.
Here's Christine us. The shot.
It was blocked by doll Kemper.
Sophie Schmitt will play this one in to daily daily, out wide with Chapman.
Chapman sends it in and the flecks out for a corner kick.
The Houston dash with a chance now 65 minutes and it's the North Carolina courage zero.
The Houston Dash zero.
You know, if Houston get a goal here, I mean, that would be absolutely huge for them.
I mean, they should have a penalty early on.
The earlier I should say in the second half.
Probably what, 10 minutes ago, the corner to be taken by Sofia Huerta in Swinger.
It's headed out on Lee as far as elicit Chapman the ball sent into Price Sock, but no one's on the other That on it takes one bounce into the hands of LA Bay and the courage will take it up from the back.
It's out of play for Carolina throwing.
Jessica MacDonald has had seven goals in 20 games with Houston back in 2015 so she was the goal score for the dash four years ago.
Now playing her former team with the courage here is Davina Davina cuts in and a shot.
Oh, it goes just why the left footage shot trying to bend that one a nice job by two being it to create space for herself.
The shot just goes wide, and that's the kind of night spent for the courage.
Just not able finish.
Therefore Davina the right idea going far left corner going Just why the goal she beat Jane Campbell just couldn't get it in the net.
Now is North Carolina's 15 shot of the game.
Houston just has six.
Wow! For seven national bladers, you expect Here is Jessica McDonald.
She will play out wide to Williams that will be played back to Campbell Campbell boots that one down field and it goes to Mewes.
So, Carolina, back with the ball you're are the North Carolina courage.
It's out wide to Mathias.
Mathias will play down line.
She has two men on her, two women on her.
I should say the cross sent in Campbell offer line there to take care of it.
We're past the midway point now of the second half.
It's the North Carolina Courage zero, the Houston Dash zero in this Tuesday night and WSL clash.
It's a clash with the courage and the dash here is lob A.
She will play it out to Abby Erceg.
Remember, Heather O'Reilly is still on the bench.
We could see her coming in.
Kemper well, dull.
Kimber want that one back.
That is not the past.
She wanted trying to play that watching.
Mathias played it too far in front of her low, and it's out for a Houston throwing.
Mewes gets it over to Nair.
They're in Al Watan.
Back to Christine.
There they're into Christie Mewes.
It was intended for so Fishman, but went back to Allie Price Sock.
Here's price Sock.
She'll play back to Campbell.
And the dash having around midfield now.
Well done there, my Sam.
Us to win the ball.
And that will go out for a North Carolina throwing just the work effort.
Oh, no, didn't go out.
I thought it did.
It did not still imply the cards have been the work at the work effort.
By uh, bye, Sam.
Us is just unbelievable.
She's always working hard out there.
Um, it's fun to watch.
Now it's a courage throwing the 70th minute.
Nil between the North Carolina Courage in the Houston dash.
20 minutes plus stoppage.
Time to go in this one.
Hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
Everyone, thank you so much for tuning in years. Rachel Daly.
That's still in the midfield by the courage Sam US playing through the defense to Davina Davina trying to play it through to Lynn Williams.
Not the touch he wanted.
That goes over the line for a goal kick.
How about Jane Campbell? She's having herself a night.
That's pretty much the main reason why the North Carolina courage don't have a goal on the board.
Jane Campbell is coming up big tonight.
She has been amazing in goal.
She has four saves tonight for the Dash.
She has kept them in this game for sure.
It has been impressive.
All right, The throwing to be taken, doll Kemper was going to take it, but she'll leave it for Matthias.
Matthias will throw it back to the whole company.
Brindle Kemper will switch to the other side of the field to Abby are set.
She has to prove it.
You know what? You see? The goal keeper to stay later for years.
What is it? The dash given away.
Once again, it's been the story of the game for the dash.
They just keep on, given the ball away right back to the courage.
Well done there by Rachel Daly.
A battle going on in.
She fouls Mathias free kick coming up for the Kurt.
No, it's a It's a foul on the courage.
I don't know how that can possibly be.
Mathias was taken down, but the foul was called on her.
Very interesting here.
I don't know about that call at all.
Let's see the replay here.
1,000,000,000 buys E.
I mean daily clipped her.
So I don't know why That's a foul on Matthias.
That makes no sense to me.
And Mathias is still down here.
This seems pretty bad.
Hopefully, she's all right.
It will be a temporary stoppage in play.
This time will surely be as on two to the second half.
I don't know where the athletic trainer is hard, but it's just the player.
Her teammates attending to her right now.
Oh, yellow card given a daily so I don't I don't get this Was the foul called on Rachel **** Plea? Yeah.
Tries to reach around.
I did not look good for Matthias clutching at her knee right away.
So yellow card is given to Rachel Daly.
Mathias will walk it off.
Matthias went to UNC in 2008 and nine.
She was a member of to NC Double A championship teams.
So she went to college very close to where she's playing her club ball now.
And that a lot of success there now, playing for the courage in her college st in having more success.
Well, not more, But just as much success, I should say with the club Team North University, North Carolina.
They have such a good woman's soccer program.
They have had so many good players come through there.
Yeah, I'll definitely be on the call for Ah once once it comes around.
Not till November, maybe December even.
Um, but yeah, I think that's the first week of December 2nd week, um, for the Women's and men's College Cup, the one Final Four.
I'll definitely be on the call for that, Really.
I always look forward to that.
A lot yellow card given to Amber Brooks, meanwhile, so there were no yellow cards the whole night.
But then there's until a minute ago, and now there's been two consecutive yellow cards given both to the Houston Dash, one to Amber Brooks, the other to Rachel Daly.
Nil between the North Carolina Courage in the Houston dash.
15 minutes plus stoppage.
This one here is Christine Mewes.
You're going right by her sister Sam us.
And he was caught up to her.
It's now out wide, the ball sent in and offsides is called.
So Carolina Courage will have a free kick from inside their own box.
But yeah, give credit to the dash.
Despite the courage pretty much dominating this game.
The dash stain in there.
It's still Nell Nell in this game.
Why? So the courage would love to clinch a buy, and they would do so with this result with a draw.
I would love to get into the playoffs, but I'm trying to say if they want to get, um, if they want to get first, then ah, then a win would be preferable.
The courage clinch a playoff berth with the wind tonight and the North Carolina defense all over Kayla.
And here come the courage the other way.
Crystal Dunn will play that wide.
It is intercepted, though well done by Hanson to intercept that ball.
Paul Riley, the coach of the courage, a little frustrated on the sideline about that decision from Crystal Dunn.
No, spent a little bit better the second half from the dash, I will say Christine us with a ball over.
The talk is Don't West dealt with by Abby Erceg.
Muse of the ice ball.
Out wide onto the end of this one is Lynn Williams.
Lynn Williams to the box crosses in No.
One on the end of it, It was a nice service, but no one was on the end of it for the courage in the dash.
Have possession of the ball? No us.
When will you all the way to the quarter and the referee blown the whistle.
Here, Mathias is down on her knee.
This is not good to see.
It seems like this injury is slowing her down here.
This might be the This might be the night for unfortunately merit.
Mathias has five assists this season.
That's your career high.
Yes, she says. A knee injury.
It looks like she's coming into this game.
Heather O'Reilly retiring following this season, she will become the U. N C.
Woman's soccer assistant coach.
She hasn't all lined up broadcasting with Fox Sports in the summer, still playing club soccer until the end of the season.
And then we'll be the assistant coach for UNC Woman's Locker.
I mean, it's pretty pretty good.
Heather O'Reilly a legend.
She's coming into the game here, so she will be in here for the last 12 plus minutes.
Let's use she could make an impact merit.
Mathias is done for the night.
Heather O'Reilly her replacement years that all right, plays resumed.
Have it at the back.
No substitution have been made for the by the dash.
Surprisingly, no, that's more.
Here are the dash.
They have it at the back.
Amber Brooks playing it up.
Christine there, Houston.
Happy to possess here.
I mean, Houston would preferably wanna win.
They need a win.
Kind of Honestly, um, because there's six points back in the playoffs right now.
So and there's three games left after this.
You know, a win would be ideal for them.
So they're gonna try.
They're gonna try to get the winner for short years. Rachel Daly.
The cross is sent in down low dealt with by ER segue pressure put on Bye Huerta and it pays off as well.
Throw in coming up for the dash.
What if the Dash were to get the game winner here? That would be pretty remarkable.
Lob a given instructions to her fellow teammates throwing Tegan.
It was played in.
But while they easily dealing with that one, I don't know the Houston dash an opportunity wasted there.
We're at the 80th minute out.
10 minutes plus stoppage.
Time to go in this game.
The North Carolina Courage nil.
The Houston National? No, that ball will trickle out of bounds throwing coming up for the dash.
The dash have never beaten the North Carolina courage Ever.
Remember the Houston Dash have all three subs remaining.
The North Carolina courage.
Meanwhile, just have one sub remaining.
In all seven meetings, the Houston National never beat the courage, the courage dominating the Siri's history.
60 and one very impressive.
Here come the courage more.
With O'Reilly, O'Reilly will send it inflict on the shot hits the crossbar.
My goodness, one opportunity for the North Carolina courage.
It all started with that ball sent in by O'Reilly.
It's off the bar and the courage still on the attack here.
Quick throwing by O'Reilly.
Done well, played over to Mewes.
Sam Uis up to Davina.
The Venus Pass was right to the dash, though in the dash with a sigh of relief.
Now, as they get it downfield.
Rachel Daly putting some pressure on Doll Kemper here.
A foot race here, doll.
Kemper will win it and play it back to lob a wow.
One opportunity for the courage ringing the crossbar on that shot.
Throwing coming up for the courage, the courage.
Have it in them to get a goal.
They definitely had plenty of opportunities to do.
So here is Crystal Dunn.
Crystal Dunn plays about Y two O'Reilly.
O'Reilly as space will cut inside.
She'll play it, too.
Has it onto her left foot across.
No one could get to it, though.
Very close while the contact in the box Lynn Williams almost got to that one.
It was a nice ball from Crystal done earlier, done hitting the crossbar.
I mean, it was a nice strike going top right corner, just a little bit too high.
She had Jane Campbell be.
I mean, that was a great shot.
Just barely missing in the last substitution will now be made by the North Carolina Courage.
It will be spent smart coming in for Davina.
Pretty good night.
For Davina, she was.
She was pretty dangerous in the first half.
Second half, she cooled down a little bit.
Julia Spence, Mark a Swedish international.
Is this her fourth appearance, her debut coming back a few years ago? Can the courage get a game winner here? Definitely wouldn't be surprised if they did.
That's played out wide, but is they can't get there.
Hinkle unable to get to that ball.
So throwing taken by the dash, that's an obvious foul there.
No doubt about that one foul on Jalen Hinkle.
The free kick to be taken by the Dash.
Rush Street? Simply.
They don't want to waste this by taking his statement.
Thanks so much for tuning in.
Everybody hope you're enjoying the broadcast.
We're still scoreless in this 1 84th minute.
It's been a very entertaining game, though, Despite it being scoreless, Crystal Dunn has it back to Sam Us.
The Dash, remember, have a 79 and four record.
They have 25 point seventh place in the league.
The top four make the playoffs.
Remember, there's six points outside looking in the cross.
Jessica MacDonald got ahead to that one, but Jane Campbell, more importantly, gotta punch outside the box.
Punch it outside the box, I should say, Cleared out by the dash.
It's back with Abby.
Dull Kemper overto Sam U ous.
Here's crystal done.
Nice pressure by so fish Mint.
It's right back to the courage, though, through Ball played to Donald McDonald.
Say she won't get to that one.
The Cross sent in the by Spence mark the header.
Oh, that could have been a penalty right there.
Definitely think so, and it is given a penalty kick.
Get into the North Carolina Courage in the fifth minute in the Houston dash are absolutely furious.
Houston Dash definitely could have a penalty down the other end.
This is unfortunate for them.
They've held off for so much of this game.
My goodness, Crystal done.
Taken down by Huerta, I don't know.
I think done threw herself down there.
She went down way too easily I'm not sure about this call.
No, that is not a penalty.
Where the I didn't do anything there or it was Christine us.
Christy Mewes is furious about this call.
Yellow card given to her as well.
So Jane Campbell, one goal out on P case this season.
Sam us will be the one to take it. Christine.
Us committing the foul, though I do not think it was a foul at all.
Her sister Sam us to take the penalty.
Wow, that I do not agree with that call.
Campbell almost got to that one.
But it is a golden North Carolina courage.
Sam U S slots at the in the bottom left corner and the North Carolina courage are on the board at just the right time.
87th minute one.
The courage lead in the Houston dash Or absolutely furious.
Us putting her team on the board.
Christine us of furious.
She did nothing there.
I don't know how that was called a penalty.
Too bad they don't have the A are in N W s L Theo.
Houston. Dash deserved a driver.
This one thanks, Ryan, for joining the broadcast.
How are you doing tonight? You're coming in at the right time.
Remember, clinch a playoff berth with the wind and they've just taken the lead one to nothing in the 87th minute.
You're doing bad.
Why is that? Why is that right? Sorry to hear that.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Yea, I meant I meant to talk to you about I was thinking earlier.
Um, if Ryan came on my broad chest Yeah.
What happened with Liverpool Man? Napoli winning two to nothing.
Yeah, I saw that game.
I was doing homework while while glancing at it now and then I wish I could comment a Champions League on here, but with homework and getting home from school, it's just not the ideal time.
I'm kind of limited tonight broadcasts during the school year, But but anyway yeah, yeah, I know.
Napoli getting the wind.
Liverpool struggled away in the Champions League group stage last year and those struggles continue this year.
They were in a group with Napoli as well.
Last year they won at home against Napoli, I believe and then lost away.
Yeah, yeah, That's true.
Slavia Prague, Tida, Inter Milan.
Yeah, that's right.
I know that was a huge result for them.
Disappointing for Inter as well.
I I expected more out of Inter.
Yeah, that's huge for Slavia Prague, for sure.
Well, yeah, I decided to call some end WSL action tonight.
We're getting closer and closer to the playoffs.
Just three games remaining after tonight.
Another opportunity here for the courage Cross sent in.
And it will be out for Houston.
Yes, the Houston dash against the North Carolina Courage Samantha Mewes with their first goal this season coming in the 87th minute, her 19th career end.
WSL goal in the first substitution of the game.
About time for the dash.
It will be CC Kaiser coming on for Christine there CC Kaiser age.
22 from Overland Park, Kansas.
She went toe Ole Miss in college.
So are just about ready for stoppage time.
So the Houston dash, still with two subs remaining North Carolina courage out of subs.
But, yeah, we're getting closer and closer to the playoffs.
The Houston Dash.
They're in trouble if they end up losing this game because they're six points out of a playoff spot with Lost Tonight won't help them at all.
The top four make the playoffs.
There's nine teams in the league.
Used to be 10 but the Boston Breakers folded.
Unfortunately, they were my favorite team.
How is fantasy football for me? Um, I pretty pretty good.
I've been checking on it now and then, but like the thing automatically did it remember, it wouldn't work for me during the SportsCastr thing, so it automatically drafted my players, so I won't Even I checked it after Sunday.
I checked in yesterday afternoon, but I've never played it before.
But like, yeah, I still had I still have a fantasy team.
I just wasn't able Thio to make the to make the pick, so I don't know it was a mess, but yeah, once again, the courage clinch a playoff berth with the wind.
It's a minimum of three minutes a stoppage time here Can the dash save your appoint? But how is fancy football going for you? Ryan, you're nice as fantasy or is that supposed to say at fancy? Well, that's good. That's good.
Yeah, I gotta check again.
I don't know how.
Yeah, Okay, I don't know how the points, all working anything, so I don't know, But, um, the throwing to be taken here and yeah, the dash really got robbed.
They should have had a penalty kick earlier.
And then they had a penalty kick called against them.
That wasn't a penalty at all to and they don't have v a r in the n w s l.
I mean, ill is Crystal Dunn clearly went down without any contact.
That was a tough call.
The Mewes sisters playing each other tonight.
Christy Mewes on the Houston dash committed the penalty.
Sam us her sister.
You might remember from the World Cup for the U. S.
The penalty kick? Yeah, the courage and first place in the league there into the playoffs with the wind tonight.
And now they're just trying t o to ah, waste time in the corner, but it will be a goal kick for the dash one.
Maybe they got about one minute, 15 seconds to go in this game.
Well, that's a bad giveaway there.
Yeah, Ryan, Um, now that the ah, the Jets are with their third string quarterback, I think I think, um, like us against the Jets is, like, similar to us against the Dolphins last week.
Now that they're with their third string, I mean, they won't be able to do anything.
They'll probably give it to Levy on Bell every play.
I mean, that's what they did last night.
Honestly, Like after Simeon got injured, they let Belle do everything, but, yeah, the jets are trash.
Um, I looked in the Boston Herald today.
Um, yeah, Belle is still pretty good.
I'll give you that.
Yeah, but I'm looking in the Boston Herald today, and the Patriots are 18 point favorites.
According to Vegas.
Already, I think they were 19 point favorites against the Dolphins or something like that.
Um, so it's pretty similar situation Foul called.
This should just about do it in this game, but the Patriots just still comfortably win that one.
Unfortunately, Isaiah win will be out at least eight weeks, and they picked up.
Um, I forget the guy's name because of that injury to Isaiah.
When, um and that is it.
It's over, folks.
Their final score, the North Carolina Courage won the Houston Dash nil.
This game ending with a little bit of controversy.
A controversial, controversial goal, I should say for the, uh, for the courage Here are then WSL standing So the North Carolina courage move up to 43 points in first place with three games remaining.
The Chicago Red Stars in second with 38.
The Portland Thorns Thorns 36 the Utah Royals 31 the Houston dash.
Meanwhile, their remaining games include Saturday at Portland, September 25th against Washington in an October 12 at Utah.
It will be tough for the dash.
Thio come back and make the play offs from this.
Here is Sam us for post game interview.
I'll turn it up so you can take a listen in.
She scored the game winner.
Yeah, um, I think we for us.
I think we've been like a really good talker and I get a lot of credit.
You said they really stopped us, were opposed to the game.
I think we created a lot of chances, but I'm really just part of the forest for working for this and continuing to question get the frequency.
When you were lining up for your penalty kick going against Jane Campbell who has stopped so many.
What was going through your head? Yeah, I've been practicing them.
And I mean, you just have to go up there with confidence.
And Jane is such a great goalkeeper.
So I'm happy that I went in and happy that were pulled one.
You played against your sister tonight.
What? This at that ad in this kind of matchup? Yeah, it's incredible, I think obviously growing up, going together, uh, it really travels both of us to push ourselves and be the best that we could be.
So basically gets hurt.
The highest level is such an honor.
And I think it's something that our family's really proud of.
So it's cool. Thanks for your time. Thanks.
All right, So there you have it, Sam us.
In our post game interview, she ended up scoring the game winner a penalty kick in the 87th minute, her sister Christy Mewes committing the penalty kick.
Although I don't think it was Ah, it was a penalty kick at all.
If you if you viewer sought for yourselves, I think you'd agree with me.
Crystal Dunn going down way too easily.
Jane Campbell had herself a night in goal for the dash.
I mean, she did everything she possibly could.
Um, you know, she couldn't say the penalty kick, but I'm not.
I'm not getting mad at her for that.
Also a frustrating night in the end for the dash, The North Carolina courage Get the wind one.
Nothing that will do it for my broadcast.
Everyone hope you enjoyed.
And, um, I will be back tomorrow night.
I'll probably be doing Red Sox giants.
I just want to get one more Red Sox game in before they're officially eliminated from playoff contention.
Even though I know they're done.
But make sure you tune in to that 7 p.m.
Eastern time should be on in time.
Yeah, I'll see you then.
And have a great night, everybody.
Yes. See you tomorrow.
The final score.
Once again, the North Carolina Courage one Houston Dash zero
