Going, that's all.
So if you follow me on Twitter, if you follow me on sports cast here, if you follow my podcast account finished at Finnish sports, then you know that I am a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge Los Angeles former San Diego Chargers fan.
Huge Chargers fan.
So I want to take this opportunity to, you know, be a real fan, be a really analyst.
Um, and not, you know, not only talk when we win talk when we lose, So if you're a charge of span or if you've ever followed the charges or the NFL, you know, that is probably hardest fuck.
To be fans of this team is very hard, because it just feels like we're always dealt the short end of the stick.
We're always given the shorter straw where something always something unfortunate is always happening to us.
Um, and you know that really, you know, reared its ugly head today.
So, you know, you can go back to a couple years ago.
I want to say that 2000 was that 16 17 season or 17 8 17 18 season.
I know we started the season horribly and we lost several games because we could not kick.
We lost several games because of special teams, foe policies, special teams, airs and things of that nature.
And, you know, that came back to haunt us today.
We lost Detroit Lions tens of 13 and context is everything in sports like you can always just look at the score of the game and say, Oh, wow, Okay, you've lost 53 You gotta have contacts and a lot of sports discussion in sports debates for and this is just the 1st 1 comes up my mind.
I wouldn't stand like the 1987 playoffs.
Michael Jordan averaged 47 points in the playoffs, but he only played three games.
You know, like that's that's an example that you could use.
But, you know, context is everything.
We lost 10 to 13 you know, off the tackler fumbles on the one yard line, Justin Jackson breaks free for like a 50 yard touchdown call back.
Austin, eh? Killer breaks free for, like a 40 yard touchdown called back Tai Long Mrs.
Another field goal.
You know, defense of breakdowns.
Where were injured? Darwin James Russell Okun.
Uh, also a heckler also looked hobbled near the end of the game.
So, uh, I'm really I'm concerned that that lions lost concern me.
I expected us to start the season three and one.
Um, possibly, you know, I fully expected us to probably drop that game to the Texans next week because we are playing by the Texans at home next week on Dhe.
Then it does get easier for us.
And and weak forehead is going three and one being the Colts, being that the lines also being loses in Texas and then beating the Dolphins.
And my dad was being adults in Miami Week four.
Um, and so I'm really that lost really concerned me, but it also motivated me at the same time.
Um, Coach Anthony Lane came out today after the game and was really talking about how you know, he feels that, you know, we're gonna learn from those mistakes.
Definitely learn from those mistakes, but we can't.
We can't make those mistakes, man.
You know, we had a touchdown called back.
Eckert fumbled on one.
Field goes like at the end of the day, man, that's That's 21 points left on the board.
We lose by three.
That's 21 points left on the board, you know? And what you know, the biggest in one of the bigger injuries I didn't talk about was Michael Bachelor Michael.
Badge Lee is out.
You know he's been out for the 1st 2 games.
Hurt is growing.
The Friday before you know the first game of the season, two games for the first game of the season.
Michael Badge Elise.
You know, hurts is growing.
So injuries, lack of discipline.
You know, we got holding calls that called those two touchdowns bag.
Um, you know, and I hate that those take away from the bright spots of today's game.
Kevin Harlan was calling the game today, and he made a really good point.
Philip Rivers is excellent.
One of the best, Um, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, throwing in a collapsed pocket and he did that a lot today.
We had a lot of bright spots fill.
It looks really good.
Keenan Allen looked amazing.
Um came down with amazing.
Let me get his stats required.
Keenan Allen, I'm with amazing eight catches, 98 yards often.
Expert looked great.
66 yards and a touchdown.
He also has six reception for 67 yards.
Um, I had a touchdown there was called back.
Looked really good, didn't practice all week.
Had three catches.
83 yards about the best catch of the week.
Diving out and catching that 40 yard bomb, right for hats on um, Justin Jackson looked amazing.
Seven carries. 59 yards.
Virgil Green came in.
He looked really good in the past block game.
He did catch a pass as well.
So and then fill it with a really good man.
He didn't throw a touchdown.
He did have, you know, two touchdowns.
Call back that he threw, um, empty interception at the end of the game.
That hurt the most man.
The intercepts he was going at Darius Slay.
You know, the whole game.
Variously, Probo Probo, Secondary, Purple Corner for the Lies.
He was just going out, and he was guarded Keenan Allen and he was carving him up.
Not to say he now had a care eight catches for 98 yards and Philip was just going at dairy Sleigh.
And then what do you know? Dairy Slick is the game when it interception for the lines.
And I hate that Philip gambled on that and really threw the ball into a situation where it really wasn't gonna be caught.
Um, because I don't know if Tai Long would've made that field goal, but I really would have liked our odds and our chances going to no overtime, because at that point, the coin flip, let's see what we can do.
Um, but it sucks because the Lions they went, you know, the whole they went to quarters.
They went a whole half, basically without scoring.
They didn't score in the second quarter that in scoring third quarter.
And then, you know, they don't score to the end of the game where you know Matthew Stafford, who's a gun slinger in his own right? You know he's gone slinging it, too.
Kenny Golladay in the end zone.
You know, he had a really good game, 245 yards, threw two touchdowns and sue picks.
So I really think that it comes down to execution and discipline.
How o r game plan changes because Melvin Gordon is definitely gonna be coming back in a couple weeks.
They say, like, weeks, six weeks, 70 has support.
But he has to report by week 10 for this season to count towards free agency and sort of like the money that he can get and whatnot.
So he has to report for that.
Um, but I'm interested to see how that game plan changes, because I really like what we're doing right now with the running back by committee with Justin Jackson.
Haven't seen a lot of Don tries to do Cem in, But Justin Jackson, officer, secular or a great 12 punch.
Also, hecklers really proven to be, you know, in every down bag.
Justin Jackson was really shifting in the back.
He's gonna get you those yards when you need them, and they're both prone to break free for really big, really big runs.
So part of me is wishing that we would have offloaded.
Melvin would be concluding honest, because I have faith that this scene can win is presently constructed, but next week we do go to Texans.
We don't get to a sexual place sex with at home and I have a lot more faith in us being able to hang with the Texans as opposed to how I felt before today.
The Texas did not look very good against the Jaguars, but at the same time, the Jaguars have a very good defense.
You know, Jailer Ramsey's no scrub.
They have somebody that can go toe to toe with DeAndre Hopkins.
And I'm kind of afraid I'm kind of weary as to what DeAndre Hawkins is gonna do.
Um, you know, against our second day, I really hate that we're missing during James.
But, you know, I got faith that, you know, in groom and boats, and those boys are gonna put the need pressure onto Shawn Watson.
Um, so I just want to kind of go through the rest of season kind of how I'm feeling after these lions lost and also with the rest, how the rest of the division is looking, Um, the chief's look electric.
I don't really know what we're gonna do when we have to play them.
Uh, looks like we don't We don't play the chiefs, and I want to say our first game because the chiefs is November.
Um Yep, November 18th is our first game against the Chiefs.
It is in prime time.
Uh, so, yeah, The Chief's look electric passion.
Mahomes is He's a different man.
He's really, really different, you know, 278 yards and four touchdowns in the second quarter.
It was the closest thing I've seen.
It's a Clay Thompson exploding for 39 points and 1/4 how we get a few years ago.
So the Chiefs are to know they look electric.
They're probably gonna go three.
No, I don't see any reason why they drop the home games of the Ravens next week.
Um, the Broncos Broncos look good.
Um, I think they just they get, you know, they should be one in one right now.
And the Bears has got really lucky.
Mitch Strabinsky got bailed out.
Emmanuel Sanders looked amazing.
But the Bears, the Bears got really, really lucky.
Um, you know, being able to hate, you know, this is happening.
This happened in the New Orleans and Texas game last week.
Where is the end of the game? The receiver catches in the midfield and he's touched down by contact.
When if you just don't touch him, you know, the clock is gonna run out.
So I was really You know, I hated to see that for the for the Broncos.
And then the Bears, ironically, get, you know, a last second kick.
You know, Thio, you know, win the game.
So and then the raiders, You know, the raiders are wanted one.
Um, They look, you know, they looked really good against Denver.
They came out today.
Looks like Looks like they gave their best effort at punching the Chiefs in the mouth, going up 10 to.
That that that was that wasn't gonna happen.
Chiefs ended up in that game 28 to 10.
So I'm really interested to see how this this division, you know, turns out because it's not gonna be a cakewalk.
Kind of like it was last year.
We won 12 games and we're able to really lock up that fifth seed super easily the way that we did.
So, um, you know, we got the Texans next week, the Dolphins, the next week, you know, Then we you know, we get our first taste of division play and we're not getting our first division game into the week five, which tells you, you know, our division games are really spread out into, um, you know, the end of the season.
We got the Raiders and the chief's back to back.
We got the Broncos and the cheese back to back it a stretch, Um, and then we got Yet.
So our division games are really well spread out, which which is good.
It'll give us some breathing room, but we got a good stretch.
We go Chargers, Steelers back to back on the Bronco, Steelers back to back at home.
Then the Titan Bears and the Packers and the Raiders games out of those that really scared me.
Um, that's the Steelers.
Don't scare me like they would've last year.
Big Ben is hurt.
Juice, Moose, juju, Smith.
Schuster Looks like he doesn't know how to deal with that.
You know that? Number one receiver attention and Donte Moncrief can't catch a ball home.
The Titans, You know, we've had their number the past couple of years, but they look really good right now.
Almost 11 against the Colts today.
Uh, you know, Marcus Mariota and Derrick Henry Lesbos looked really good and then after that, we got that bears game where, uh, I don't think they'll put up a lot of points on us, but at the same time, we need to figure out a way to put a points on them.
That's a game at Soldier Field on October 27th S o R.
Next stretch of six games.
Man, I think that we can go four and 23 and three.
I don't know that my confidence is really shot at this Detroit Lions game because our schedules not the easiest.
And I think that we really needed to take advantage of that game.
Um, and I think we really need to take advantage of that game and and and go to a no, because our schedules not doing us any favors. No.
Where's our division gonna do us any favors this year, man? Um, wait.
You know, after that, you know, we're gonna go, you know, playing the packers at home.
We got the Raiders and rode the Chiefs at home.
Broncos on the road s So I really don't want this season and end up disappointed like 8897 season.
Man, we're definitely gonna have to win 10 games to get into the playoffs because teams for that wild car reach, they're scared.
They're gonna be teams like the Colts, teams like the Ravens or wherever that runner up is in the A F C North picture.
Um, you know, the Broncos and the and and the Raiders are scaring me for that as well.
The bills look really good on the Bills or to know they're looking really good.
And, you know, they're probably not gonna be calm being for anything other than a wild card berth.
You know, the way the Patriots are looking right now, Um, so my takeaways from today's game meant is I really need us to figure out how we're going to execute.
I need us to figure out where discipline is going to come from, and I need us to figure out where we're gonna fill these holes.
I don't think that we have a big, as big of a hole as we thought we would have it running back.
I don't think that's our concern right now with Melvin Gordon being out, but I think that we really need to figure out how.
What team are we with these injured players? What team.
Are we without Russell kun, which is our special teams Gonna look like without Michael Badge Li was What is our secondary gonna look like without Darren James? So I think we really need to figure out where our identity lies and how we're going to fill these holes with these hurt players.
Um, but Yemen, That is my takeaway from the Los Angeles Chargers.
Uh, boss at the Detroit mob.
You know, at the Detroit Lions today, Man out. Definitely.
You know, doing more streams, charges related, as well as my week to recap that'll be coming up this Tuesday.
Um, I appreciate your listening.
