the Patriots have traded.
Demiri is Thomas to the New York Jets for 1/6 round draft pick.
This is the first time the patrons and the Jets have traded with each other since the dreads traded for Bill Belichick to the Patriots.
Needless to say, I don't think this will work out quite like that deal.
This is the second time in the matter of week that the patrons have drafted within the A F C East and tonight I will touch on the trade and what it means the bowl teams.
The Patriots are also in a very different situation than there have ever been before.
They're loaded with Pro Bowl caliber wide receivers, and it's leaving us, leaving a lot of us wondering how they'll all be used where the Patriots offensive line is now the least stable it's been in years.
And with marketing Marcus Canon elp for at least a couple of games, it's leaving some Patriot fans and media types wondering how the pages are going to get through this without David Andrews and Marcus Cannon, with both of them on the shelf.
I've seen a couple of ideas, and tonight I'm gonna talk about all of them, and we can decide together.
Which one seems like the best option The Patriots are Wanna know to start the season, and we have now officially closed the book on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Patriots are on to Miami, where they will take on there a F C East rival, the Miami Dolphins.
In the past, the Dolphins game in Miami was never one to sleep on because 11 of Tom Brady's A F C losses have come to the at the hands of the Dolphins but the atrocity of a roster that the Dolphins are fielding right now, this won't be your typical New England Miami rivalry.
In fact, this could be the most pathetic Dolphins team I have ever seen.
And since Saturday, I've heard a lot of opinion about Antonio Brown.
His character has put been put through the wringer, and people are questioning even the Patriots culture can handle Antonio Brown.
Well, frankly, I'm done talking about temper tantrums.
Instagram Jersey numbers.
I'll let the main Street sport Main Stream Sports media discussed the Clickbait shock factor news, and today I want to discuss other patriots will actually transition and use Antonio Brown on the football field and how it will all turn out come January is still a wait and see.
But for today, let's try and take our best guess at how the Patriots are gonna use Antonio Brown.
Because here a DP and we like football.

Let's talk about our New England Patriots.
So the merriest Thomas being traded isn't really the biggest surprise with.
The bigger surprise was was that the New England Patriots moved him to the New York Jets.
But I'm not surprised the Jets didn't want him.
Their head coach, Adam Gaze.
You know the same guy who thinks that the Jets are going to dethrone the Patriots and a F C East this season, even though they can beat the Buffalo Bills.
He's got a little bit of insight onto Marius Thomas.
He was his head coach.
Not his head coach was his wide receiver, coach and offensive coordinator when they were together in Denver and after the Jets lost the Buffalo.
Gates was very critical of his receivers, and obviously, he feels bringing into Marius.
Thomas will help out the team now.
Thomas looked pretty strong in his Week four preseason game with the Patriots as he returned from the Achilles injury.
Ah, but then he started dealing with a hamstring injury.
So on Sunday night, when the Patriots Adam is an active, I thought they were just being precautious, making sure that he was ready to go, you know, further down the line, and I still think they were being precautious and on the cautious side, but for a very different reason that I actually thought in the first place.
But Bill Bell check knew by then that Antonio Brown was joining the Patriots.
The news already come out the day before, and the different reason was because Bill Belichick was thinking about trading him and trying to find a trade partner.
And you know what Week three is going to get Very interesting because Antonio Brown came.
The Patriots, obviously to Marius Thomas, became expendable.
And the trade being within the division tells me that Bill Belichick had less faith into Marius Thomas than maybe we did.
And there's no way that ball check is going to send him to the Jets.
If he thought that he was a legitimate threat against the Pats.
Look at the end of the day, Bill Belichick signed him as a free agent for very little money, and we got a draft pick back form.
So the Patriots won this trade with the New York Jets.
Look, So the Patriots, ever changing Patriots wide receiver depth, now looks like this.
Antonio Brown, Julien Edelman, Josh Gordon, Philip Door Sat, Jacoby Meyers and Gonorrhea Chesky, who I don't think we'll ever play a game Hill as a receiver.
Hill will definitely be a special teamer for the team now.
The Patriots didn't miss the Marius Thomas on Sunday night, which tells me that they probably wouldn't miss him for the entire season.
And I'm not knocking to Marius Thomas.
Just fact, it's right in front of us.
The Patriots won 33 to 3 without Demiri is Thomas and without Antonio Brown.
And I do wish Damiri is Thomas.
Nothing but the best.
But I can't wait to see him next Sunday and watch the Patriots corners shut him and the rest of that gang green down.
All right, so I don't really have much more to say about the trade.
I need to move on here because one fear that I had going into this season was the Patriots offensive line, and I made it very clear it wasn't the starter's OK, because the starting five could be the probably close to being the best offensive line in the league.
And I would have loved to started this season with Isaiah when it left tackle Joe Tooni at left guard David Andrews, our center shack, Mason are tackle and our other guard.
And Marcus Cannon is our other tackle, you know? But unfortunately, what happened is is my worst fears came true because my only worry that I really had with the offensive line was that they were going to start going down to injury.
Now, luckily for the Patriots, for pats Nation, for Tom Brady, for everybody involved.
Ah, it's apparent.
Apparently, Marcus Cannon isn't gonna miss that much time.
Maybe just a couple of weeks, which is great news.
But he's still gonna miss some time.
Which means a bill about Jack and Dante Scarnecchia are going to need to get, you know, creative over the next little bit.
You know, when we look at the injury history, you know David Andrews? We knew going into this season wasn't gonna be around and air Ted caress.
You know, he did a pretty good job on Sunday night.
I thought he blocked Well, his shotgun snaps were a little weak and wobbly, but besides that, he did fine.
Um, you know, during the game, I thought, you know, I can deal with the slow snaps.
Everything will be OK.
And then Marcus Cannon went down and I started to get uneasy.
Germaine alumina, or came in, moved into the left guard spot.
Joe Tooni moved over to the right tackle, even though all of his tackle experience has been on the left side.
And it seemed to work.
Um, but you know, it's patchwork this early into this season is a little unsettling as a Patriots fan, and I You know what I mean? I don't like making a video and not having the solution to the offensive line.
So I did a lot of research.
And Henry McCann of Pat's Ball Pit, one of my favorites.
You wrote an article called Patriots offensive tackle Situation could get murky afternoon after Marcus Cannons injury.
Now it's the offensive line.
Situation is murky indeed.
And for those of us who were screaming to trade for Trent Williams, what do you want to pay him with? The Patriots don't have a whole lot of salary cap left over, and whatever they have isn't gonna pay for.
William's baby took most of that money, so McKenna breaks down pretty well.
You know how different things that the Patriots could do.
So let's look at what you said and then I'll give my thoughts.
So it goes like this.
Marcus Cannons injury in the Patriots 33 to 3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers thrust New England into an awkward situation.
They made a quick decision having to play someone out of position with Cannon hurt.
The Patriots only had backups at guard and center Germaine Aluminum, Ore.
And James for Nets Aluminum or had been with the team for roughly 10 days and hadn't received a single snap at tackle since arriving.
So they inserted aluminum or at left guard and moved Joe to need to tackle a position he played in training camp and in previous seasons.
I hope Marcus has a speedy recovery to me, told Patriots Wire when asked about playing out of position.
I hope he's doing well.
He's a leader on the offensive line, and we hope that he's back as fast as possible.
You can't carry 100 people in the game, so whatever the coaches ask, I'll do.
When Tooni played tackle during the spring and summer practices, he was on the left side in Sunday's game.
He needed to make a few adjustments moved over to the right, just gotta understand the tackles responsibilities, too, he said.
It's a little flipped with your footwork and you've gotta work together with their offensive line.
Okay, so before we carry on, to be honest, we really don't know how well it worked against the Steelers, because after Cannons injury, the Steelers didn't even getting a lot more pressure on Brady.
But the game was already out of reach, and the Patriots look to be on cruise control, kind of playing that 3/4 speed.
Um, you know, you see that a lot of times during blowouts.
You know the team who's blowing the other team.
L kind of slows down and relaxes.
So and the Patriots were also running the ball a lot more often by that point, you know, but Tooni look fine, a tackle, aluminum or was penalized on the first play that he was in.
But I think we'll get a better assessment through a couple more games, or at least a full game against the Dolphins.
Even though the Dolphins look pretty weak against Baltimore, will get a better assessment there.
Now, let's carry on with what um McKenna had to say, said aluminum or aluminum.
Meanwhile, was glad to get some wraps.
It's been a while since I've played in the regular season game, so I was definitely excited to get in there and knock some of the rust and jitters off, Aluminum told Patriots wire.
My development is definitely getting there, but it's my first full week here, and it's definitely a bigger offense in the one I had in Baltimore, just getting used to the way things are called here and the way the plate they play here and just getting used to the structure here.
That aluminum or the problem is that aluminum isn't the only player who's behind the curved.
In fact, he seems to be handling the playbook better than the other two offensive lineman who were acquired within days of one another ahead of the 53 man roster cuts.
Tackle Korey Cunningham was a healthy scratch, and the Patriots cut center Russell Bodine because they felt more comfortable roster in for Nets, who had more familiarity with the offense Aluminum or was the only player who made the game day roster.
So look, we all know that Cunningham was a healthy scratch for the Steelers game and What that told us was he just wasn't ready to play with the Patriots.
Now Dante Scarnecchia has been known to make wine out of water.
I think the one question that we need to have his guys is what kind of water is Scarnecchia starting with? You know, in a perfect world, Cannon wouldn't get hurt and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
But the reality is, our fears came to really life on Sunday, and mechanic gives us some different options.
They're all not ideal, but their options.
So let's see what he said.
Here's one of his options, he said.
So if Kanan Mrs Time, then what? Here are a few potential situations for the starting offensive line.
From left to right, Isaiah Win, Tad Caress, Bodine Shack, Mason, Tooni Analysis, Caress and Bottom line Get to play their troop positions even if tuning is out of positions, but it could weaken them at all three positions.
To me, this is the least ideal situation and not the solution that I hope the Patriots go with.
For this to work, the Patriots number one have to re sign Russell Bodine, and that wouldn't bother me, but I think what? I'm looking at different solutions, that they could do it. The offensive line.
I'd much rather have Joe Tooni playing the interior part of guard and keeping that interior strong.
Here's McInnis second solution.
It's win Tooni Caracas or caress Mason, cutting him analysis.
Everyone plays in their position.
But is Cunningham ready for such a significant promotion? Cunningham was not available to speak with the media because he was a healthy scratch.
So, look, I agree with McKenna.
We don't know if Cunningham will be a factor.
He's definitely a kid that has a ton of potential, but he still needs a lot of work now.
Scarnecchia could work with him, but he needs work.
And can you be ready in a week? Less not like six days before they got to play the Miami Dolphins? You know, in I think now you know, we always say in Bill we trust, ability, trust.
But I think now I question Bill Bell check a little bit for waiting so long to make a trade to strengthen that offensive line when I mean people like me who aren't that football smart, we're talking about it.
The entire off season the whole way through camp that the starting line was great, but the depth sucked and he waited right to the very end to make the moves.
Here's McKenna's third option.
When aluminum or caress Mason and Tooni, it's possible that the Patriots take aluminum or is a better player than but Bodine eso.
Perhaps the scenario keeps one of their better players off the field.
If Cannons injury causes him to miss time, the Patriots may have to get creative.
Or they will have to trust a newcomer in the early stages of his New England career.
All right, look, that last option.
Obviously, this is not a great situation, but to me, it's probably the most ideal.
Unless Bill Belichick is willing to move a skill player, I don't see a big name offensive linemen coming to the New England Patriots, and what I can't figure out is how bad or good things will be.
Unfortunately, I don't think the Miami Dolphins game is gonna tell us much.
The Bills and Jets have been much better defense, and that should be, you know, the tell of how, while this line could work until Marcus Cannon could come back.
The good news is, though the Patriots always seem to get through these kind of situations.
They have the next man up mentality, and I think right now it's not, you know, can the next man up do it? It's who can do it and let's see who it is.
All right, so now I want to talk about little bit about the New England Patriots versus the Miami Dolphins, my first time for the week, and why this rivalry of the A F C East will not be the same this year. That has in the past.
His two places in the NFL that I don't like to watch.
The Patriots play is in Miami and in Baltimore.
Uh, let's stick with Miami For now.
A lot of strange things can happen to the Patriots in Miami.
Ah, you know, the Monday Night Football game romping two seasons ago when Gronk was suspended the week before.
When he, you know, people's elbowed a Buffalo defender, you know.
Ah, a game that was all but done last season again.
I almost stopped watching at the end, but I didn't and I had to witness the Miami Miracle You know, Brady is like 81 21st e a F c East, and 11 of those losses came to Miami, and it's I've always been, and I know a lot of Patriots fans are.
I've always been worried when the Patriots are facing the Dolphins in Miami, and then you count in the Brian Florist factor.
Bill Bell check is 14 and nine against his former coaches, but he lost the Josh McDaniels their first meeting when McDaniels went to Denver.
He lost the Matt Patricia last year in 2018 in the final Coach of that dynasty or this current dynasty I should call it is Brian Flores, and everything in me because of the past says that I should be nervous for this game, but I'm not, because I don't think that the Miami Dolphins have ever been worse than they are right now.
And for the first time ever in this, you know, in my time watching New England Patriots, I can breathe easy with the Patriots going to Miami, even in the heat.
The Dolphins are coming off a miserable, embarrassing loss to the Ravens at home, losing 59 to 10.
And I normally hate the play teams when they come off these huge losses because they always seem like extra motivated the next game to prove the world wrong, you know, because everybody was doubting them.
But, man, I love Brian Floors, but it looks like that the Miami players aren't happy.
And, you know you think would be a tough game because I hate playing against a former coach because his players will rally around him.
Like I said, it's not the same this time.
The Dolphins, they're trying to get the hell out of Dodge.
There was reports of stories coming out that after that game against Baltimore, the players were in the dressing room calling their agents bagging to be traded off the team Because the Dolphins have made it so clear that they're tanking and I feel bad for buying Flores.
The players publicly were very critical of his game plan.
The Patriots are opening up this week in Vegas at 16 and 1/2 points.
Now I never spot any team, not even the New England Patriots.
I don't spot any team those kind of points, but this week I would because of Lamar Jackson can put up 59 points.
Think about what Tom Brady, Antonio Brown, Julien Edelman, Josh Gordon can do.
Think about James White, Sony, Michelle Rex Burkhead.
Think about what they can do to this offense.
Order this Miami defense.
The Patriots defense right now is licking their lips.
This is the type of game that the defense needs toe.
Get some confidence behind that pass rush.
The Patriots linebackers are going to eat the Dolphins running backs all day.
The Dolphins on Lee Really offensive talent on the team.
Is Devante Parker, a guy who's been completely under utilized for five years? Gilmore is going to be easy work out of him.
So CBS for Miami wrote an article outlining what's working and what needs work in Miami.
So I want I want to read to what they say is working in his first start.
For the Dolphins, journeymen quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was the least of their problems.
Despite no running game in little protection, he threw for 185 yards and a score, and at least two long passes were dropped, one in the end zone.
Josh Rosen, who lost a training camp battle for the starting job, entered the with the score at 52 to 10 and played no better than most of his teammates.
He had one completion, one sack in one interception.
Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins 20th starting quarterback since Dan Marino retired.
We'll get the knot again on Sunday.
Does it change? The position at this point won't fix Miami's problems.
So basically what this article just told us.
Waas Miami has a struggling to decent quarterback, and that's what's working on the Miami Dolphins.
They traded for a first round of former first round draft pick quarterback who looks like he could turn into the next Nathan Peterman.
It's only been one game, and I get the 33 to 3 victory over the Steelers.
Could be a bit of an overreaction to us in the 59 to 10 is a bit of it.
Could be, you know, a bit of a hurry, a bit of an overreaction, but there is nothing and Pats Nation.
I mean nothing about the Miami Dolphins.
The biggest task that Bill Belichick is gonna have this week is keeping the Patriots laser focused and, yes, Brian Flora's and Flores and Chad O'Shea.
They know the Patriots.
They know the offense.
They know the defense, but they don't have the talent to expose them.
Look, I know how to beat Mike Tyson in a boxing match, but I am not strong enough.
I am not fast enough.
I am not talented enough, and I don't have the lungs for it.
So just because I know and just because they know how to beat the Patriots doesn't mean they have the talent to actually do it.
Now here's what.
Here's what CBS force says needs work.
The Dolphins were overmatched upfront on both sides of the ball.
As likely will be the case all season.
The dearth of talent and such the right tackle Julian Davenport and right guard Danny is Dora, who both joined the team after the exhibition season played every offensive snap because about blocking Miami's three running backs combined for 12 yards on 10 carries.
The man handling was even worse on defense were three players acquired just this month.
John Jenkins, Avery Moss and Stephen Parker saw significant action.
Miami allowed a franchise record 643 yards.
The Dolphins gave up the most points in the first half of the season opener in the NFL's 100 year history and 42.
Obviously, I didn't do a good job getting this team ready to play Florence that on Monday his front seven applied a little pass rush against Lamar Jackson, who threw five touchdown passes in the Ravens, rushed for 265 yards.
This week's matchup of the Miami's defense against Tom Brady and Antonio Brown is staggering to contemplate.
We can't let one game dictate our whole season, regardless of what just happened, linebacker MK Ilic and said.
If we would have won by 60 we can't let that wind dictate the whole season.
We're going to be better.
I can promise you that, all right, First of all, how could you not be better? You lost 59 to 10.
Your quarterbacks ran a combined 12 yards of offense.
Basically, what this article said is everything about the Miami Dolphins needs work.
It makes me think of a Bill Belichick press conference when he's like, well, you know after a loss, when he's like we need to play better when into coach better, and it's just a cliche he uses because not everything is bad.
But it is that bad in Miami.
They need to execute.
They need a game plan to be the coach better.
They need a better offense, better defense, better special teams, prostitution.
I never underestimated team ever.
I talk a little bit of trash.
I tell you why the Patriots gonna win, But you can't ever under asked me to team the Patriots.
The team won't be underestimating the Dolphins this weekend because anything can win on any given Sunday.
We learned that in an Al Pacino movie, I get it.
But there is nothing and I mean nothing That intimidates me about the Miami Dolphins, and there is nothing, and I mean nothing that tells me that the Patriots aren't going to smoke.
But my hand me Dolphins this weekend.
All right, well, that was my first shot at the Dolphins.
Let's talk about how Antonio Brown is gonna be used on the Pittsburgh are on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the New England Patriots.
So, look, there's been a lot of talk about Brown's attitude, his attitude going into New England.
Whether he'll fit the culture can Bill Belichick fix him? Brown's character is obviously been called into question, and the universal hate of the New England Patriots has grown exponentially ever since this happened.
And this does not get discussed a lot since the Patriots signed Brown.
But how will Brown actually fair on the field now? Obviously, when I asked that I'm not talking about his talent, we know that he's all full of talent.
I want to know how well Josh McDaniels use him, especially in these early games when Antonio Brown is learning the Patriot system because it's Bill Belichick.
Brown will probably be on the field for the first snap of the game, and after that it could be a completely different story.
Josh Gordon, I believe, played 18 snaps his first game.
You know, the Patriots have a complicated offense.
I remember Tom Brady talking about last year saying that the Patriots had over ah 100 passing plays, so Gordon had 18 snaps After 13 days with the Patriots.
He played his first game 13 days after he joined the Patriots.
Brown will only have six days to learn the Patriots playbook and last day somehow shipped it off to him on Saturday.
So I assume that the Patriots are only gonna have him focused on a portion of that for a bet, at least for this week. Now.
Andrew Callahan, a Mass live, wrote an article how the Patriots game plan Antonio Brown's debut in at Miami and Kellan really does a good job breaking down what the pages could do.
You know Brown actually has enough talent.
Be an ex receiver is that receiver.
You've got enough talent to play in the slot.
You know, Julian Edelman is kind of that.
You know, Zad toe slot receiver.
He goes back and forth dependent on the formation, and Josh Gordon is really a true X receiver.
But I don't think at this point in time, even though Antonio Brown is better, that it would be wise to move Edelman and Gordon out of a permanent spot.
So what I see it is the Patriots using, um, using him using Brown, especially in those sort of, you know, to receiver sets.
You know, putting him as like the Letter X receiver are putting him as the extra, even putting Adelman and at the slot or having an accent sad.
But it's really gonna be interesting to watch the development of this throughout the season and how he gets in.
So here's what Callahan thinks is gonna happen on the first week.
So to start, expect New England.
The limit Brown snaps to a single personnel group.
If Brown plays pyre primarily in the two receiver packages, he should please play the axe and replace Gordon.
This is how New England introduced Gordon last September when he started and replace Phillip Door.
Set for four snaps on the offense is opening driving Week four, also coincidentally enough, against the Dolphins.
From then on, however, 86% of Gordon snaps were taken inside the three receiver packages.
This is where Sunday script may differ from last season, because unless the Patriots are comfortable benching Gordon in these sets or moving him from said the only way to move in him Tuesday, the only way to play him, Brown and Edelman together will be to task Brown with learning a second position.
Putting that or slot responsibilities on Brown's plate in addition to his ex assignments should be too much, 2 to 1 because assures New England is motivated to field it's best weapons together, it will want to simplify the plan for Brown in Miami, the Patriots always assimilate their new receiver slowly.
This, above all else, should guide outside expectations for his debut.
Now I agree 1000% with that assessment.
Okay, you can afford to move Gordon.
Remove Gordon when they're the two receivers SATs and bring them in.
Fresh wonder in those three receiver groupings.
And as this season develops and Brown learns the system, things can change.
They can move guys around, but really, Gordon is an ex receiver.
So Brown's got to be playing like this, that in the slot now, I also agree that it's it's perfectly okay to have lower expectations for Antonio Brown this week.
Let him slowly learn the system, you know, and what this system is gonna do.
It's gonna leave good, talented players waiting for opportunities, and this is where the adjustments gonna comfort from Antonio Brown.
You know he's not going to get targeted 15 times a game like you always maybe is gonna get seven or eight or nine targets game.
And you know Brady's just gonna want an open receiver at the end of day low guys.
The Patriots have a good problem, right? You'll never hear in.
NFL coach complain about having too much talent.
I'm sure Bill Belichick's not seeing that right now. Going.
Gosh, darn it, Josh, We have too much talent on the Patriots.
That's not how it works.
You know, balance.
And Brady just need to manage the expectations of Josh Core of Antonio Brown story.
They need to just manage it.
Let him fit into the system.
Let him learn the system.
Everybody will get theirs.
They just need to be patient.
If you're a Patriots fan, you gotta brace yourself, man.
Because this is gonna be a fun year.
