What's going on? Everybody Michael about go here.
And, um, I just wanted to go over yesterday's last night.
I should say absolutely in sane, absolutely insane Saints in Texans game There's just gonna be a little bit of my thoughts after having the night to think it over.
Didn't really sleep much, if you can't tell here is really most stops.
I just rocked headband today, you know, no big deal, but as a bad man right here.
Drew Brees, baby.
All right, so a couple of host game studs was actually, I was extremely impressed with how well our defensive line played.
If you guys watch my pregame show yesterday, I said that that would likely be a weakness of ours with the shells.
Rankin's injury and not having David on Imada and, um, just the lack of depth of the defense of tackle position.
Um, but guys like Trey Hendrickson stepped up in balled out guys like Mitchell a win, even though yeah had a crucial offsides penalty late in the game.
But he stepped up.
You played pretty well.
We just released him today.
I'll probably get put back on our practice squad, but you know it is what it is.
Um, and then Malcolm Brown, who I said not a big sack guy, was constantly getting in the back field, made a lot of plays.
Camera Jordan played very well.
One guy who did struggle was Marcus Davenport, though I'm gonna need him to step up.
He only had one tackle the entire night, wasn't really getting much pressure and actually ended up getting benched towards the end of the game in favor of trade. Hendrickson.
That's an interesting matchup to watch.
But yeah, like I said all night long trade injuries and was beaten that tackle like a drum.
J. J. Watt reference.
Speaking of J J.
What? Zero tackle, zero sacks? Um, only one holding penalty.
It was called on Brian Graham.
Check Who was in charge of blocking him all night long.
J. J. Watt suggested.
We get a new right tackle.
Man had the worst game of his career, so that was extremely exciting.
Obviously, um, we have a very underrated offensive line, guys, and I love it.
Why, like that's a to multiple time defensive player of the year right there.
I think even one of their gonna lock him down completely.
Absolutely nothing. He did nothing.
So Ryan Ram check with my player of the game often to play the game.
My defensive player of the game was actually a guy who I said I was not a big fan of coming into the night and that Waas Marcus Williams Marcus Williams had a crucial interception late in the game, but that's not the only reason why he's my defense player of the game over guys like Troy Hendricks.
And reason he's my defense player of the game is because his coverage was very good All night long.
He came up, he made tackles, he was around the ball.
You did a great job.
You didn't blow any assignments like he actually looked very good at the safety position, which is something we need fun.
Bell also play very well.
Apple, on the other hand, did not play too well.
He needs to step it up out there.
But P. J. Williams definitely played well.
It's like some guys really stepped up when we needed them to last night.
I didn't know being the difference of the game.
You know, uh, going into the half, I was just like, what is going on with our team right now? Our offense wasn't looking good.
Our defense was okay.
Like we really stepped it up when we came out for the second half because it looked like a completely different team.
All of a sudden, we get the ball, we go down, we score a touchdown.
You know, we I mean, our defense already given it more points in the second half.
A cz well, but I know our defects, like our defense, is just clutch.
Like they came in Clash when they needed to.
And that's what happened.
Injuries from the game and whatnot.
There were none really on the Saints part.
I think a couple of guys were just a little bit roughed up, but nothing serious.
Thankfully, text insider? No, just Shawn Watson was a little bit banged up.
I'm sure he'll be fine for next week, but, um, Saints officially have David on the model back on their roster.
Um, so that's good.
They made room for him by cutting Mitchell a win.
Who got some playing time last night, and they also released running back Matthew Days Today.
Those two guys were gone.
David on Yamada's Mac.
You'll start next week alongside Malcolm Brown, and that will be a very huge upgrade to our defensive line.
Until we get Sheldon Rankins back, I doubt he'll be back next week.
But you never know.
I guess you've been progressing extremely well, so that's exciting.
Um, one guy, one take.
I was really incorrect about yesterday, and that's just something I like to do.
You know, if I'm not right about something, I'm gonna admit that I'm not right about it.
And I'm not gonna stay here.
Oh, you know, make excuses like No, I was wrong.
I thought Kiko Alonzo would play yes.
Or play last night.
Not sure why is a climb? Didn't look amazing.
He I mean, he was all right, but I don't know, there were definitely moments in the game and I was like, Why is Kiko Alonzo not in the game? I noticed that we were missing a lot of tackles, and maybe that's just getting adjusted in week one.
Maybe s gonna be an occurring problem.
I really hope not But you gotta wrap up, man.
And I know my man Kiko Alonso will wrap up.
So make it happen.
Saints from my man Kiko in the game.
All right, We got to wrap up that make tackles, but secondary look great for the most part.
One thing I was not very happy about was the touchdown towards the end of the game by the Houston Texans.
We're up by six.
Well, that's just kicks a field goal 55 seconds left in the game.
We're up by six.
My man to Shawn Watson drives the Houston Texans down the boat down the frickin field and three plays, actually, two plays it.
It's just if you include the kick return, it's three plates, but it is only to place what is going on.
I believe it was to Hopkins, Hopkins, and that Hopkins got out of bounds any through it.
Toe. Well, freakin fuller.
No, it was It was Kenny Stills.
Can you still is The former st or the touch down in my heart dropped it sunk like you know how If you like Philip a bag with a ton of rocks, you just throw it in the lake.
That's what my heart was like.
It just sunk straight to the bottom.
My phone's buzzing like, Oh my goodness, you had Blue What you got to do with, uh, see the extra point? Why'd right, Let's go.
Oh, so happy. Let's go.
None flag And I'm sitting here like, Oh, boy, Saints fans, another bag call.
It's gonna complain we're gonna be the babies of the NFL again.
Here we go, Here we go.
And then he made the extra point.
And how is the old boy? So here I am.
And I didn't feel like, like, the most sad that I've ever felt like I wasn't too stressed out. I know.
We still have, like, 35 seconds, 40 seconds, Something like that.
I know We had to agrees with one time out.
Rush is dangerous.
I was already getting ready to make a post on my instagram at Saints highlights.
If you want to follow it, innocent plug, but already make a post like dang.
Don't hear your complaints.
We lost that game ourselves by not playing at all in the first half.
Boom, You know, but a man Drew Brees came in clutch, drove us down that field beautifully, and then big nuts.
Lutz came in the game drilled career high 58 yard yokel or the win guys do you has ever, like scream at your TV and just peer happiness and just, like, literally tears? Guys, tears came down my face of just pure excitement and happiness, and I was like, We did it! A man, Drew Brees, the goat I'll carry Anybody says Super Bowls are won by teams teams.
Drew Brees is the greatest of all time holds.
Like every freaking record, man.
There's no way you're gonna stay here and tell me he's not the greatest quarterback of all time.
That's a different broadcast.
Mommy Drew Brees took us down the field with his wife and children sitting in the booth, just hoping that they would.
We were make that comeback snap art streak of losing and weak one.
We have lost in Week one every opening every season since 2013 Guys, 2013 in my guy Drew Brees was like No, sir, not gonna happen this time, buddy.
Boom down the field.
Well, what's big Nuts looks as we like to call him down and nal ins game winning, 58 yard field goal, which is even more impressive because he had missed a 57 yard Vogel going into the half boom.
That's just not letting it get to your head.
You know, most kickers, once you miss one cake, it's like you're gonna miss another one.
It's almost almost almost always that happens.
You know, you missed an extra point Jets game, for example, of what happened Jets game, for example, Homeboy on the Jets missed an extra point early in the game.
Guess what they did a few ago later on Missed the field goal.
Two days later, he's released on the same Tino, my man.
Well, what? Mr Field goal.
It was a long field goal.
57 yards, but he bounced back, kicked a game winning 58 yarder, man.
58 yards doesn't see.
Are you just gonna, with two seconds left, kick a career high 58 yard field goal and just walk off like it's nothing, man, I love that guy.
That's why we kept him.
Given the big bucks in the off season, keep a good kicker.
It's needed nowadays needed When that rule changed 34 years ago, whatever it was, who really thought that having a good kicker would be this would make this big of an impact.
Here you go, guys.
I should kind of like the rules because, you know, makes NFL games a lot more exciting.
You know, you actually have to have a good kicker.
You can't just have any old bum.
You know, kickers were kind of a priority.
Now, guys, we have the best one in the league.
All right, but a serious note.
Biggest break away.
My biggest takeaways from that game was honestly, how impressive our defensive line depth is, how impressive overall our defense is.
Obviously, we have to tell you up a couple of things, but that's probably a little bit.
It's just shaking off the rest.
Um, and then just how impressive.
Ah, and how resilient are offenses? Obviously, it's pretty much the same as last year, but Octavius Mary really stepped up, played hard when we needed him to kind of took over that Mark Ingram role.
He was our clock milker late in the game so that was good that he was able to step up in that role for us.
Um, Camara played well as always, like Thomas played extremely well.
10 catches for 1 35 or something real quick.
But who cares? Jared Cook? Only two catches.
But then again, there were two extremely clutch catches.
Both were big first downs and needed times.
Um, yeah, I just love the resiliency of our team, and I'm extremely excited that this is the kind of games that you win when you're a Super Bowl contending team, you know, and like Like I said in the pregame show yesterday on this channel, Tommy, um, I said, that detective's gonna be a very tough matchup.
Everybody was just kind of like thinking as it that would be a walk in the park.
You know, when the Texans air healthy, they're one of the best teams in the NFL and make the postseason a lot for a reason.
Some scrub like Texans are good man into Shawn Watson really stepped up yesterday, man, he came in clutch for that team.
If I wasn't a Saints fan, I would I feel so bad for Josh on Watson.
Man is, he played great.
That's how you step up, man.
Nothing but respect to everybody on the Texans.
With the exception of DeAndre Hawkins, that body slam kind of annoyed me, and it was just so unnecessary.
And I'm just thankful we didn't get flagged for fighting him.
But, you know, don't come down in New Orleans in try no funny business because not only are you gonna get beat up, you're gonna get 15 yards tacked onto it, too.
But the saints have a very big match up this week.
Going to L A to play the Rams.
The redemption game.
Hopefully, she'll drink.
It is good to go, but I highly doubt it.
But you are defense just kind of step up because we're placing another trio of outstanding wide receivers in ah Cooper Cup, Robert Woods and Brandin cooks.
So we're going to step it up.
Secondary is gonna have to really ball out.
You like apple? Step it up, brother.
Step it up, girl.
I need you to all right.
You know, uh, Overall really excited about the weak one win.
Um, I want to know for the first time since 2013.
I'm really excited to see where this season goes and stay tuned Sunday for my pregame show.
Saints versus Rams.
You guys have a blessed week, see all them piece.
