Today is St Game Day, baby.
We have waited for so long so long to see the Saints play Stephen take the field on Monday Night Football 2019.
It's the Houston, Texas, baby.
I'm going to start off doing some pretty simple on what's gonna go over each team starting lineups.
And then I'm gonna go over position battles here towards the end of the broadcast and, um, basically, what to look out for.
Obviously, I'm gonna watch the game tonight.
I don't know if I'm really gonna broadcast that much during it.
I might turn it on. We'll see.
But ah, yeah, let's go through the lineups Were my start off with the Houston Texans.
Do, uh, texting starters starting on offense quarterback to Shawn Watson, running back Duke Johnson, but also Carlos Hyde will be mixed in there.
Fullback Cullen Gillespie, a wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.
Tight end Darren Fells, left tackle Laramie Tonsil, left guard.
Howard, center Nick Martin, right guard Zach Fulton and right tackle Sanne Trail Henderson on the defensive side of the ball.
They run a 34 defense they only have three defensive lineman and four linebackers, unlike the Saints, who run a 43 with four defensive lineman head three linebackers.
Um, so anyways, the three defense of lineman for the Houston Texans, the two D ends Angela Blacks in and J J.
What? And then the nose tackle is deejay reader.
Remember? No Javy on Clowney issue got traded to the Seattle Seahawks prior to the opening game before linebackers for the Houston Texans.
Whitney Merciless Zach Cunningham, Bernard Rick McKinney and Brennan's tartlet.
Scarlet. Sorry, my bad.
Um, Whitney Mercilus will probably just kind of figure it as like a d n.
Most of the time, he's probably gonna be rushing more often than not.
So we had to look alive for that.
Jonathan Joseph will be manning the left side, and Manning the right side is Bradley Roby.
But I would not be surprised if they have Robie or Joseph.
Whoever they feel is better, Um, shadowing Mike Thomas all night.
Ah, free safety for them.
Justin Reed and strong safety is to Sean Gibson.
Kicker is Kati Me, fair bear and punters.
Trevor Daniel, the return specialist for the Houston Texans is DeAndre Carter, now moving over to the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, obviously running back Alvin Kamara.
And also we also have Octavius Murray will be running the rock out there.
Ah, full bag. Zach Line.
Wide receiver Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn.
Tight end Jared Cook.
Joshua will also be a big factor tonight.
Left guard Larry Warford, center Eric McCoy, right guard Andrews P and right tackle Tehran arm instead moving on to the defense side of the ball.
Like I said, we run a 43 so we have to de ends to de tackles three linebackers the way football should be played.
The end's Cam Jordan and Marcus Davenport heard off the game.
I'm sure, Dad Important Tree Henderson will share snaps much like have important Alex Oak, afforded last season de tackles Malcolm Brown and Taylor Stallworth.
I'm assuming Stallworth is going to get the start.
Do is experience, but we're very short position today, and honestly, anybody could start there tonight.
I won't be surprised they put Trey injuries in there tonight, to be honest with you.
Ah, the three linebackers Kiko, Alonzo DeMario Davis and Alex End is Aloni.
So were stacked corners.
Marshawn Lattimore and Eli Apple wouldn't be surprised if Lattimore shadows Hopkins the entire game.
So look over that free safety Marcus Williams.
Hopefully, we get Chauncey in there before the game's over because Marcus Williams is trash.
I said it here in front of all of you, Marcus Williams.
Ah, strong safety, Von Bill.
No. Probably blessing quite a bit, too.
Will Lutz puncher Thomas More Stead and our return specialist who won the battle in training camp and the preseason Deante Harris just talked to another day Really excited for the opportunity.
Okay, here we go.
Position matchups slash the winners of those position matchups.
Guys, I am so excited.
The games finally count.
No more preseason A cure.
Our quest for the Super Bowl in the NFL's 100 season starts tonight.
Fellas starts tonight.
Ladies and gentlemen, let's get it rolling.
All right, Two quarterbacks in tonight's game is our dish on Watson and Drew Brees.
Obviously the nod for here.
Not even close Although I'm not gonna be that fan.
I'm not going to give the Saints the knot on every category because I know the Saints aren't better in every category.
I just want to make that clear.
I'm a very non biased Saints fan.
Like when I report on the Saints in the Saints news, I try to have a very non biased opinion.
Obviously, I'm gonna die hard Saints fan.
But that's not gonna change anything.
I'm still going to be very non biased with it, and I'm going to give my honest opinions and feedback.
So Drew Brees, He's a future Hall of Famer.
He wins the position matchup against to Shawn Watson.
But I do feel like to Shawn Watson is going to play a very good game.
I do feel like the Sean what's gonna be a very good season, and I feel like a lot of people were sleeping on this man's abilities.
It is a beast when he is healthy and he's very mobile.
And so Cam Jordan and Davenport really have to look out for that tonight.
Um, the runningback matchup, Duke Johnson and Alan Camara.
Um, overall, I'd say Camara due to his receiving abilities as well.
But it's pretty even the fact that Duke Johnson has Carlos, Hi does this back up and we have Latavius Murray.
I give the nod to hide over Murray any day.
I like the habeas Mary, don't get me wrong, but he's also unproven and he really hasn't done much in the past few seasons.
Hopefully, a new team and a good team at that will just revamp his career and who have a solid year for us.
But I'm given the nod to the Saints just because we have Alvin Kamara and they don't is that simple.
They have to solid running backs.
We have one Pro Bowl super star running back who can do everything, and he's gonna be playing the majority of the game anyway.
So Camara gets the nod.
Full bags do dio.
I mean, they're pretty even.
I mean, there's really not too much to a fullback position, but, uh, a 60 eh? What's up, Billy? How you doing, brother? Anyway, the fullback position is going to go to the exact line of the same because he has more experience.
He's just it's just been more productive over the past few seasons in Colon Gillaspie, and I'm not gonna lie.
I don't know really anything about cooling glass, Pia.
I just don't know anything. Five.
Um, but I'm sure he's a solid good fullback for them.
Wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller versus Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn.
I give the nod to the Houston Texans.
Texans are absolutely loaded at receiver, our corner and secondary.
It's gonna have a very, very challenging night tonight.
We have to guard.
How about flowers? I know we're getting there.
We're getting there, brother.
Um, well, that we have a absolutely loaded.
They have a look loaded receiving corps in, uh, DeAndre, Hopkins Will Fuller and Kenny Stills.
Um, it's just that simple guys, they are ridiculous at receiver.
We're gonna really have toe step up our game corners.
Eli Apple, Patrick Robinson, Marshawn Lattimore.
They're gonna have to ah, play much better then we have in the past, but we also have a pretty solid receiving corps ourselves and Michael Thomas and Ted again, as well as guys like Keith Kirk, which recall on Smith Austin car cetera.
They're gonna step up and especially guys like Austin car in that third receiver slot role.
They're gonna have to step it up tonight and torch that secondary cause outside of Jonathan Joseph Bradley Roby.
They don't really have a second year, Um, left tackle are you know what to do? Should we do a complete online or should we just do? We'll do the old line as a whole offensive line.
I give it to the New Orleans Saints.
Recent Pro Bowlers were just overall give up less sacks less Q B pressures.
Um, our running game is a lot better, but the Texans did acquire some new faces.
They're all healthy, and it's a brand new season.
The fact that the Houston, Texas just acquired Laramie Tonsil is a huge agreed to their offense of line, and he's going to be a big factor tonight, trying to stop camera Jordan.
I'm getting in the backfield.
But Central Henderson, on the other hand, is gonna have markets.
Davenport, Justus, an effective rusher and I think he Davenport and have a big night torching of Henderson on that other side.
Um, we also have a rookie center, so that kind of place of part into it, we got him in the second round, your coy.
I've decided to see how he's going to do almost a little bit nervous because he has his hands full with homeboy deejay reader.
And you, dear reader, can get to the quarterback guy.
I really hope he steps up tonight plays well, but I do give the offensive line position battle to the New Orleans Saints, at least for tonight due to the Texans having you barely unproven, often sublime All right defensive line for tonight on Lee.
I say the Houston Texans due to the fact that we don't have David on Yamada from his one game suspension, or Sheldon Rankins due to his Achilles injury.
Ah, half to give the nod to the Houston Texans and their three defensive line because they have J.
Watt, Angelo, blacks in and D J Reader.
Two of those three guys barely get talked about and are very productive.
Obviously, everybody knows who J.
Watt is, and I'm sure J.
Watt will have at least two sex tonight because he'll probably be up on either Andrew speed or start not interested.
Uh, Toronto, Armstead or, um, we'll be up against Ryan Ram Check both of who struggle with very good pass rusher. So we'll see.
That's all I'm gonna say.
Um, we do have Cam Jordan and markets Davenport plan tonight, and we also have defensive tackle Malcolm Brown, who we acquired from the New England Patriots.
But he's always been kind of known as like a run stuffer.
I get to the quarterback sex kind of guy.
The Houston Texans have get to the quarterback.
Sex come to guys.
So for tonight, only until we get healthy and we get all of our players back, I'm saying the Houston Texans win the position matchup.
It's really even guys, but I'm given the nod to the New Orleans Saints.
Houston, Texas Have Whitney merciless who they pretty much uses a defensive end.
They have Zach Cunningham.
He's a young, talented linebacker for them.
They also have been are great, but Kenny and they also have Brennan Scarlett Um, They have a very young, yet talented linebacking corps Saints.
On the other hand, they have Kiko, Alonzo DeMario Davis and Alex Anzalone, E R course a little bit order, with the exception of Angeloni.
Um, but we have I just think we're the better line back in court getting Kiko.
Alonzo was gonna help us out tremendously.
Against that past. Excellent.
You're just an overall beast gonna help us out huge tonight. He's starting.
Cannot wait to see Kiko Alonzo play tonight.
Not to mention we also have a J.
Klein who I'm sure will sub in a little bit coming off our bench.
Um, so don't be surprised if you see him getting into the game a little bit.
Probably, you know, either to give and the lonely some rescue to his, you know, soreness of injuries or to give Kiko arrest because Kiko may not know the full the venture.
I'm sure he does.
I'm sure you're gonna play just fine, but you never know.
Don't be surprised if you see a J A client and I climbed a very good backup.
All my man, uh, moving on to the secondary, Starting off with the corners.
Jonathan Joseph and Bradley Roby verses.
Lot of more apple.
I give them not to the Houston Texans.
Um, they have to really, really, really good corners and Joseph and Robie, and we really only have one really good corner.
The rest of our corners.
You're just kind of average above average solid guys.
Um, but the fact that they have Jonathan Joseph, who's been dominating the league for a while now and they have Bradley Roby who just acquired from Denver Yeah, they're gonna be locking this down all night.
I'm a little bit nervous about that matchup.
I'm really excited about this game, but I'm also really nervous.
I think it's gonna be a good game is gonna be close.
Um, free safeties.
Justin Reed versus Marcus Williams.
Like I said earlier in the broadcast markets, William is absolute garbage.
So I give the nod to just read.
I'm not a big markets William supporter over here, guys.
I mean, he's on the saints, and I'm Hopefully he has a big bounceback season, but demand always getting burnt.
So hopefully he proved me wrong.
And we don't like I mean, I'd love to see Chauncey Gardner Johnson play tonight, but hopefully Marcus Williams steps up so we don't have to see him.
Um, strong safety to Sean Gibson.
versus Von Bell have to give the nod to gives him because he's been in the league longer and he's been bawling out himself that he gets more pics.
But Bonne Bell's a very good blitzing safety for us, and we use them or is like a linebacker that we do a safety most of the time.
But von Bell has definitely been playing very well for us since he's came in.
Said he came in as a rookie three years ago.
Ah, special teams. Here we go.
Battle will Let's versus kiii me Fairbairn Well, let's.
He was a top three fantasy football kicker last year.
I'm sure he's gonna repeat that performance again this season.
I gave him the nod over fair there.
Punchers Trevor Daniel Thomas Moore said.
Been punning, has a ring.
He's been in the league for a while.
I give him the nod.
Trevor, you're good Trouble.
A good hunter, but in the NFL and return earthy Andre Carter versus Deante Harris.
They're pretty much the same.
I'm not gonna lie to you.
They're both undersized, speedy receivers.
I give the nod to Harris, though I think I mean, he literally came out of the NC double A as the all time leading kick returner and punt returner in NC Double A history.
Therefore, I'm giving him the nod over DeAndre Carter.
I'm sure both will play just fine.
And with that, I conclude tonight's broadcast.
Thank you guys for tuning in and go saints.
