Welcome to SportsCastr News Monday Morning Edition going over the Week 14 slate of games.
This time we are talking about the Arizona Cardinals destruction of the New York Giants by the score of 26 to 7.
This was a game where the Arizona Cardinals offensive didn't have to do a whole lot offensively because the front seven a specifically Hassan Red****, had themselves a game and gave the Cardinals great field position.
Throughout this game, Kyler Murray was 24 35 244 yards and one touchdown.
Kenyan Drake carried the football 23 times for 80 yards and a touchdown as well.
DeAndre Hopkins, of course, had you know well over half of Kyler Murray's targets and yardage.
Nine catches on 11 targets, 136 yards.
Now the big thing here was Hassan Red****.
Five sacks of franchise record five.
Now Dennis Guard IQ had to, and Marcus Golden had a sack as well.
But five sacks now of those five sacks.
But Hassan Red****, he also forced three fumbles three fumbles against who else? Okay? Daniel Jones? Of the eight sacks, he fumbled the football three times three times.
Daniel Jones did not have.
I noticed he was having time.
These were covered sacks.
He's were he was sitting back there and not throwing the football, not getting rid of the football.
And then he began fumbling it.
Now here's the issue.
Also because they put Colt McCoy in late in the game and he didn't do but much better.
He was two of three passing for 18 yards, but he also he also ended up fumbling the football.
So this was not a good day at all for the entire New York Giants offense.
It seemed as though, uh, Daniel Jones forgot how to protect the football as he's been doing in his first game back in some time where he was doing.
For the last three or four weeks, he's been protecting the football quite well.
Dion Lewis also fumbled the football on a kickoff return, which gave the Cardinals great field position.
Like I said, this is a game where the offensive line for the Giants again showed up to be not good enough.
Daniel Jones holding onto the ball too long and not being able to hold the ball when he is being tackled.
The the Giants defense did a good enough job overall, holding the Arizona Cardinals toe under 400 total yards, 231 through the air.
And I mean, my goodness.
Now Arizona did have 159 yards rushing.
That was a big problem.
But it's mainly because Kenyan Drake 3.
5 yards a carry, Kyler Murray 3.
6 yards of carry and Chase Edmunds had seven carries for 32 yards at 4.6.
Now that all averages out to just under four yards a carry, which isn't terrible.
But when you are consistent with it, it really hurts your defense.
Because when you carry the football 43 times at just under four yards of carry, that will wear your defense out.
It's an amazing that the Giants held the Cardinals to just under 26 points with that many turnovers and that good a field position that entire game credit to the New York Giants defense.
But credit to the Arizona Cardinals defense.
We're playing locked down coverage, forcing Daniel Jones toe hold the football and then the front line getting home with eight sacks and that many strips Thank you for watching SportsCastr News Monday morning edition on Laurence Owen going over Week 14.
