you got a home with a hat pretty, pretty tight because you could lose your hat about double double loss.
And then I've always that.
Yeah, but I couldn't find another fan catch that was as impressive as the one we saw the other night.
So on Kit Shaw was the name of the man who made that catch.
He's wearing his Oakland Raiders jersey.
We happen to know Ock it FRG and myself.
He plays on our softball team on Wednesday nights.
I saw him last night and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to interview the most famous man in the right field pavilion.
So we took the chance and interviewed him, and we have it for you now.
So go ahead and watch that.
What's up? Dodgers Nation? I'm claiming that guy's broke.
Of course, you know that we're here with the bald guy.
He's the amazing ball catching dude.
I think that's what they're calling him on the Internet. Moment.
Beard Man here with ball man.
They're calling him what? The owner of the best catch best fan catch of the season, at least possibly one of the best fan catches of all time.
His name is Hank it Sha? And yes, he's the catch guy.
Walk us through the play, Mr On, kid.
So, uh, nowhere? Not a It's a home run, 95 hour fastball by human Garcia.
I basically just run over to try to get in line with it, right when I get in line with it.
I was trying to time to see that the jump or not jump jump landed right in the second row of seating And, uh, just in my glove.
And I was like, Yeah, I just made it nonchalantly just looked over at Keith.
The question that everybody wants to know, though, is Did it hurt? No, I didn't hurt at all than her.
Let's get it Looked like it hurt.
And for those wondering, he mentioned teeth.
Heath is the guy who caught the Justin Turner walk off home run in the 2017 NLDs again LCs against the John Lackey's.
Do you have any problems with security? Kind of getting in the way of telling you.
Get out of there.
Get up my lawn. No, they didn't really care.
Uh, almost the balls head.
They didn't really say anything, so the ball just came my way, and I just got it.
Uh, just the day before one game before there was an unfortunate incident, almost the exact same spot.
Now the now famous Louis World 10.
Catch our black there.
Louis didn't necessarily put a good Well, he didn't put a glove on it.
He just didn't catch it.
You have any advice for Louis next time around or players able like like it's got a position yourself, You know, Uh, he just took the glove out, but he didn't properly positioned the glove out where he had a chance to catch it.
It just look how he did It just didn't look natural.
It was just It was just doomed to fail.
Get him next time. Louis.
There's always, you know, probably once in a lifetime experience.
I know that's not your first gamer Tell us about Fell down until this fine audience behind the camera there, But your first in game home run catch.
So the 1st 1 I ever caught the fly was back in 2016.
It was hit by Danny Espinosa.
That was actually the second ball.
I got second home run ball I got in that game.
Got one of the first dating hit by Bryce Harper in the fifth inning.
And then in the fifth inning, I got one by Danny Espinosa, and that was the one calling the fly.
And he was right there, right next, right, right to the left of me at the biggest moment.
Face. He points right at me.
Definitely, like the biggest mind blown.
I would never forget that day.
And I'm glad he was there.
Yeah, of course he's pointing to me.
I was there, known this guy for a while now, and it was really cool to see that moment.
I could have shoved him out of the way.
I could have got that ball, you know, just like you could have got another homer this year.
If you shove those pesky kids out of the way, it was meddling kids out of the way.
But also this year, you ended up getting that Cody Bellinger home run, which is pretty cool.
That was, uh, that was I forget there was some sort of significance to that ball cause you're meeting Cody.
But you broke it the total bases record for the month of March and April.
Come and ask for asking one of the ball back.
I was willing to give it back to Cody if I wanted to meet the guy on a signed bat in a signed ball.
It was a great experience.
Definitely a day I'll never forget.
Like like a few days ago, catching now his home run.
I'm never gonna forget it.
And you're wearing an Oakland Raiders shirts, and we come to find out not only through you but through fans and through other people.
You're a Giants fan.
Yeah, I am a Giants fan.
I am a Giants fan trapped in L. A.
I'm stuck down here.
It is what it is, but I love going to play love games.
Loved going to baseball games.
Doesn't matter really who team it is.
And also, I just wanted to get out there and see if, uh, home run comes my way and a home run did come his way.
So what do we learn? Stay in your position.
Go to a lot of games because he's caught what you said over 100 baseballs and batting practice.
All told this year.
So obviously you have to put in the work.
Make yourself not look like Louis World 10.
But Louis World, we love you. Probably.
I never met the kid that's on Kit Shaw over here, guys.
But it's getting.
And kid or Keith or however the hell people have set it on the Internet, on the Internet.
Yeah, people say anyway, signing out for now.
I'm me and that's me.
Okay, we're back.
How was that interview is probably good, right? Kelly? I was there.
So, Arc, it was Ah, well, he's a Giants fans.
Yeah, No, I get it.
The good thing is, the good thing is he's just a baseball fan at the end of the day.
That's why he's at Dodger Stadium all the time.
He lives down here, so he goes.
He goes to a lot of gay Now.
He's at a lot of games, I think, even like a bunch of Dodgers nation like writers, people who associate with us. I've met him now.
We could just hey was training.
We actually went to Jared on with them and just had a lot of pizza with him.
So it was a lot of fun.
He was a good guy.
He took the Giants fan joking around pretty well.
Yeah, I mean, we're outside in the patio at Giordano's, And then there were Giants fan at the restaurant across.
Yeah, but they're like, Hey, you need help us help you out.
And it is all good.
So, I mean, he was He is pretty good about everything.
Yeah, Super nice guy, Super athletic.
Like I said, he plays on our softball team, and he I mean, he's phenomenal.
You guys also get there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So if you, uh, you know, if there was gonna be a fan to make that catch, it's definitely on kit.
And you know, he's got those ups, and he made a pretty phenomenal catch.
Hey, Eriksen, Right now.
What's up, Eric? Hey, but hey, if anything, take this as a challenge.
We need Dodger fans to make better catches and Giants fans.
You know what? I've always wanted to do it.
This is my favorite catch.
Not the catch with your kidding grand That seems I really want to do the kitsch, The comic cup.
And yet here in the cup again, a Giants fan.
That was Giants fan Thio.
A couple good Giants fan catches.
Guys, wait up fans again.
I mean, there's enough of them at batting practice, you know, like, they're catching the balls.
Like, just get good seats.
You know, you'll make a good one.
Yeah, I know it.
You joins so great interview great time all around.
And, uh, yeah, Kowski says, never thought you'd mentioned the Giants fan.
And, uh, we kind of had to kind of came with the territory he made.
That catch was interesting.
It was interesting to see how many.
Ah, like notable figures and teams picked that up in, you know, posted her to re tweeted it or something like that.
Thea, the Raiders lot. Whoa.
A. I think the Rockies were Rockies.
Took it in there like, Well, that's pretty sweet, because obviously we're playing there tonight.
And then the broncos retweeted that and put a Broncos logo really later.
It's kind of funny to see the NFL.
Dude in on the I actually have a friend who's a big Raiders fans send it to me.
And did you see this guy? I know that.
So I was interested in a great time. You guys were in the park.
Give me high five.
I know. He's Jones fan.
Super says they can take the trash talking.
From what? What I know.
You know? He knows he's in Dodger territory, and, you know, just be nice to him. Out over the pavilions.
Please be nice to me.
Oh, please be nice to him.
He's a nice guy.
We don't want him to feel bad from one interesting story to another.
Really happy story.
Look, this happy theme we're staying on, guys, we might have not a negative thing.
We never know what's gonna happen this week.
One of the more exciting things that happen this week other than jocks, amazingly hot start is the arrival of one of our top prospects in a prospect that we have been very excited about as the most baseball fans.
Gavin, look showed up this week.
We could not have been more excited for that.
We've been waiting.
There was reports that he was coming up on September 1st, and then it was like, Why would he come up with Step two? Prefers their season's not over and, you know, yada, yada, yada, back and forth, people reporting false things.
And then, finally it came out.
He is indeed coming up.
Played his first game this week, first couple of games this week.
He's played three games now with the big league level right, her three times three games at the big legal.
That's hard against Iraqis.
Hey, got two hits in his very first major league game, a single and double, and that was pretty much it.
He has a single since then, so he's three for 13 and his 1st 3 games. Big league level.
I think the thing that I like most about him from watching these games is his approach at the plate.
Hey, does seem to have a very adult approach approach, which is something that seems to be a consistent theme with doctors prospects.
Yeah, I mean, even looking back like a ce faras like Salinger coming up like that was like a theme around this first year was that he was very patient.
Even Jack, even Jog coming up was very patient.
What only swing it. Good pitches.
Initially, let's change the little changed a little bit, but, you know, baby is well, like he said, Well, smells very adult mature at bats for your guy Verdugo.
Um, so that's just a theme in their system.
I think that's something they really preach.
And, uh, I'd say, So far, so good.
I mean, to be honest, that first game for me was just, you know, I have my son.
And to imagine my son making his debut, you know, realizing his dreams and then seen Gavin's dad start to cry.
Created, of course, was, you know, I felt a little like misty eye to just saying thinking like how happy I am for him? Yeah, that Gavin got to do all that, you know.
It's like all that time that father spent, you know, pitching him the ball or take him to practice.
Everything got paid back with one hit.
Yeah, the culmination of so much hard work, so many hours put into something finally come to fruition.
That's got to be really satisfying as a parent, but also as, uh, Gavin looks himself galaxy.
Gavin's always been really cool.
Like we've done interviews with them earlier in the season.
Like that's whenever g like, uh, you know, set him up in August, I think.
And then he's been cool with us on Twitter and stuff.
Remember? One he sent us a screenshot of, um, you know, he got kicked out of a game when he was mad.
He broke, he broke his wrist, like, right after that, your mood and everybody thought, Oh, my God.
The Dodgers pulled Gavin from the game, but it wasn't the case, you know? I got tricked.
I was doing the Twitter cast that on, then, Um, yeah.
Then he sends a screen shot of it of the umpires call, and it was a really bad call.
Wears on a string.
He just wanted to make it clear why you got kicked out. Exactly.
I got kicked out for a very good reason, guys, you know.
So he's He has a good eye.
So you have the right to argue.
You knew he knew what? I was at the plate and he knew after when he went in to watch the footage and take a screenshot for so excellent.
Really nice guy.
I think he's gonna be around for a very long time.
I think Dodgers fans are gonna like him a lot of really good personality.
And he's just I mean, he just looks like a freakin ballplayer, Man, You look back and you're like That guy plays baseball.
There's no other sport baseball.
I love the comparison to that stranger things.
Yeah, it does, doesn't it? A little too perfect, You know, I just getting a little thin mustache.
Everyone's going a little bit more perfect.
Yeah, so they bottom eighth.
Then they Batam lead off and then the bottom seventh.
Is that a sign of them getting him ready for possibly making the playoff roster? Because a guy that young that you bring up, you typically don't move him around that much.
You kind of Adam eighth.
And that's kind of it. Maybe seven. That's it.
You don't definitely don't move him around.
You sure as hell don't bottom lead off.
Is that? I mean, is that a sign of things to come? Because effort, he was like, I love to see a bat leadoff.
Then he was batting leadoff was like, Whoa! Okay.
You know, I think he was drinking too much that day.
Well, here usually might have been that he can't be the hitting the lead off, but the whole Verdugo news right now I want Where do you go at leadoff? That's just my own personal call.
I don't know who else I would put up there right now.
They've been putting up their testing that out.
But going back the Lux I love the 678 like Bt.
Lux? Yeah, that was so nice.
Just come at the bottom right? With that, I was just so it's such a satisfying Yes, is just like bring it, bring us your best.
And then we want to keep this line up and just attack you all day long.
So, realistically, does he have a chance to crack the playoff roster when you look at the current picture? Because, I mean, let's just run through infielder quick, not even outfield.
There's a whole pan or pitching or anything like that.
Russell Martin, Will Smith, Matt Baby, David Freeze, Kiki Hernandez, Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Chris Taylor.
Arguably, that's eight guys already as potential infielders.
You get it. Outfielders.
You added Peterson, Pollack and Bellenger and possibly Verdugo, depending on the status of him, that's kind of still up near.
You got four starters.
If you got an eight man bench, that leaves nine spots for the bullpen.
Maybe, maybe not.
I mean, realistically, I don't see.
I don't know if there's a spot on the team for right now.
And, you know, I think, uh, I forget you've been playing really well to nobody wants to really give that much credit.
People throwing it around.
Yeah, we've done it around as an idea to write about and we do want to, you know, it's just, you know, he's been doing really well, and I think annoying that Gavin is there.
Okay, See, I don't think that really motivates him.
I mean, he really cleaned up his approach up each at bat right now.
He looks really good, actually, and he was the one player in the beginning of the season.
I wanted him to have a fantastic season, and finally, when he started off hot, I was so happy.
Then he just chilled out than now when he came back after the injury, he looks really good.
He was one of those guys that we really wanted to have a fantastic season because we needed him to have a fantastic season, especially when you looked at the beginning of the season of beginning of the season.
This year you were like, uh I'm a little worried about this team, guys, because there doesn't look to be that much production within this line that we found it and we found it in a lot of different ways.
So I'm glad he's finding his swing.
I'm trying to remember who I'm supposed to give the credit to on this one, but for what? I'm not gonna be able to remember it when you're talking about the bullpen and the bench and everything there was.
You know, the point brought up about for do go whether or not he's gonna be in the lineup or not, whether or not he's going to be able to you and things like that.
But article no, somebody had just mentioned it on on Twitter like it was I forget who was, but they were basically saying, like generally whenever you have playoff crunches like that, They kind of work themselves out.
One way or another, they kind of work themselves out.
And, you know, he said that in reference to Verdugo, possibly not being ready for the postseason.
He's like, we were really worried about that because we're like, we're not gonna have enough room for somebody on this roster and a lot dogger work.
Tim Rogers saying is between Beijing and looks Yeah, it makes it makes sense because they're, you know, they're both left handed bats.
They're both kind of will be more than likely the infielders that, you know, we're not really gonna use bait in the outfield during the playoffs.
I don't think you got c t three Max and Kiki at second.
Yeah, with CT three kind of flux.
And around in the back and forth, you gonna teach us first like a legit first with freeze.
Cody has a really big backup, right? I like I like Beatty and freeze Manning first base and and maybe who was? It was complete first.
Once he let's see.
Yeah, so that's good looks, cat.
I want looks the play, but he's not gonna make.
It is just too heavy on that side.
It's It's not only that it's too soon.
Yeah, I feel like he's really got a MASH in September.
For them to be like, This is our playoff guy.
I think that's what Dave Roberts meant when he said he's got a chance at a playoff spot where this is an audition for a play offs.
Yeah, he didn't mean he's got a hit 300 for himto make the playoff Ross or anything like that.
He means he's got a freakin crush.
He's gotta hustle.
He's gonna make some great defensive plays or else he's not gonna take, you know, probably babies playoff spot.
That's basically what he's saying.
I'm pretty sure, you know.
Yeah, I read it with anything negative against Gavin, and I don't think you should take it in a negative way.
If he doesn't make the playoffs, I think he absolutely had to crush it like how he crushed it when he moved up to your boy.
Yeah, you know, he has to crush it like that.
For him to put the pressure on Dave Roberts to make sure he's on the playoff roster, and I just I don't see it happening, you know, with especially Muncie coming back and all that kind of stuff.
I wanna pull for the kid.
It's his job next.
Next year, spring training.
He's, you know, it's his thing because he's gonna have the confidence him and Dustin may are in the same boat.
Yeah, I really like that.
People want them to have a playoff spot.
They want them to play games and be around.
And we know we have a lot of high hopes for both, because how much upside both of them have.
There just might not be a spot simply based on the fact that we didn't give him enough time to get ready for a spot.
And that's all it is.
It doesn't come down to talent.
It doesn't come down to anything more than that Baby's been around all season.
All these guys have been around all season.
It's just I just don't see it happening.
You know, if it looks, you know, crushes a couple balls and hits like 400 all right? You know, let's talk about it a little bit.
Yeah, that's taking some sparkling.
Please, let's talk about? Well, I don't want a spoiled because we haven't well, one World Series.
Were talents boiled? Were talents blow? Yeah, exactly.
I think, uh, it's a nice place to be.
And I'm glad we're talking about this, right? You know, um, but, man, the next the next few years of Dodgers baseball, let's get set up for a while.
That's pretty great to see.
And these are good people there.
Good quality likes, like aside from being a baseball, players quality human beings on this.
Yeah, it's great to see you, but getting back into the playoff roster a little bit while we're on the subject, You look at the bullpen you have.
These are all possible bullpen members mind, you know, not for sure it's possible.
Floro, Gonsouland, Jansen, Kelly, Kel.
Eric made a May Sadler Stripling and Rich Hill.
Possibly that's 11 Kai's for the bullpen, potentially.
Who could be on the roster? There's gonna have to be some roster crunching there, and I have no idea initially looking at it where that's gonna happen.
Maybe Dylan Floro, since it's maybe not enough time for him to get back up.
There's a whole month for him to get back up.
But, I mean, if I had to make a list right now, people who aren't gonna make it the highest chance that I would give right now because of what I've heard is strictly is most likely And Floro not hurt.
But there's my feeling, Okay? Just Ross Stripling Floro Just because they're getting back.
But with strips, I don't look good.
You know, he's looked a lot better lately.
Uh, yeah, that good game Arizona.
And then he came back yesterday.
Looked pretty decent.
So the thing about Ross's like I've never been big on, I've never been big on him out of the bullpen.
A lot of people are, and his stats kind of, you know, back that up.
But I just never felt good about him in big situations, out of the bullpen.
I do like him a lot of the starter.
I think he's a solid starter on any of the 456 area, like really nice.
If it were, you is going to struggle, okay, and let's let's be prepared for that.
If Rios going to struggle, then give me three solid innings from where you give me 45 from a you know, strips, or like a guy, insulin or a That's it.
That's like my might it.
Yeah, you know it isn't there.
And and then there's you There's your three and then, you know, we'll finish out with the rest with whatever we got, you know? But I think, um, yeah, I don't know.
It's it's tough right now.
I want I want Shipley.
They're for sure, because I just like his stuff, you know? Yeah, he definitely profiles Is a guy that you want around long term especially.
But I mean, it really is coming down to crunch time with this.
Especially with this bullpen.
Aside from the position players with this bullpen also is gonna be a roster crunch rituals, you know, coming back ish.
They're gonna kind of build him up out of the bullpen.
I had mentioned earlier that I thought he was probably gonna end up in the bullpen for the playoffs, and it's kind of shaping up to look like that a little bit.
Things could change.
You could either not pitch or he could end up starting.
It kind of is up in the air a lot right now, but if you have him the bullpen, then it complicates everything.
I mean, it looks like they kind of basically what it looks like is they back backtracked on their word about Julio being a reliever for the playoffs, and it looks like he's gonna be a starter.
And it's kind of looking like that just based off of where Hills that I'm assuming.
Yeah, and my ADA has definitely been bumped to the bookie on almost 100% been bumped to the bullpen, and it just fine he looked.
But I also I also wouldn't be surprised to see my ID and not make the Division Series roster.
I mean, that's something else to consider, too.
Is somebody might not make the Division Series roster and then make the championship, So that's also a possibility.
I think that happened with Pedro Baez.
Not last year with the year before where he didn't make one of the roster.
Yeah, one of the other tripling last year. Of course.
No, You mean no, no.
Give me Garcia to say no.
You, me the solo home run champion of world undefeated Jenny said Russell Martin, You forgot him Yes, Honestly, you want honestly, like in the comments, Please let me know.
Honestly, Do you want Russell Martin pitching in the postseason like in an actual and situational high leverage? No, but But then you have to ask a question, and I think that, you know, we'll talk about it later.
I think there is a confidence thing in the fans between two people right now that be very surprising.
The ah baseball person like yourself would probably say, What the hell were you thinking? But like myself? Yes, I I like baseball.
I forgot about that.
But yeah, one major thing to consider when we're talking about Gavin looks is whether or not Alex Verdugo will be ready.
He allegedly suffered a little bit of a setback.
He's got, like, a sore back.
Yeah, clock's ticking on him, for sure.
That's a guy that you want in your lineup.
That's a guy I really want on the postseason lineup.
He brings a lot of life to this lineup.
Yes, he is a spark plug of sorts, if you will, and we really need him back.
We haven't had him since, Uh, when's the last time we had a beginning of August, right? Yeah, beginning of August, Um, I miss his enthusiasm.
I missed the fun.
I missed a pseudo pit like Instagram pose.
Yeah, of him, Just like skiing down dugout.
You know, just I want I've, you know, like when we build our teams and stuff, like when I've built teams over the past few years.
I always want someone like out free to go on our team because it keeps things light, you know, and he's serious, but he works hard, and I think that's the thing that you know.
We want that personality on the team right now because it keeps things loose to 94 hitter.
He's slugging for 75.
He's got 12 home runs.
He's one of the guys, one of the many players on the team with 10 or more home runs.
Right now, he's a spark plug.
He's the 3.1 war guy.
He's a guy who's gonna play greed, play great defense in the outfield.
He gives you some flexibility in the outfield with Publicas well, and end with Peterson out there and trying to spell him a little bit.
He can hit left handed pitching as a left handed hitter.
I know it's possible.
I know it seems.
Yeah versus left handed inning.
He's like a 300 hitter or 300 plus etre versus being to 80 versus right handed.
So, UH, which is surprising because he still hasn't gotten as many at bats? Is using expected against left handed, But he can hit both.
He has amazing splits.
He's a guy we're gonna miss if he misses the playoffs.
If he misses the playoffs, that's gonna be a tough pill to swallow.
Because we we would really like to see him back in there because he's one of those guys, too.
That would be great off the bench, considering how well he hits against lefties like he's amazing off the bench.
Clutch big time.
There's a lot of clutch hitters.
Let's say you start.
Jockey gets a right handed pitcher and 73 thinning.
They bring on the left.
You got Verdugo on your bench ready to go and play outfield, and it doesn't matter that he's a left handed hitter, so you can use your right handed hitters all game long doesn't know you have him waiting for you.
So we're gonna need to do. Go back.
Let's hope he can get back in the game action soon.
Usually, when it's a back issue, though, it's not generally good for Header.
It doesn't sound good.
Are you listening? So we'll have to see.
We'll have to wait on that one because there's not much about him out right now.
But other than that, basically what we said, what we settled on is that the playoff lineup is completely up in the air.
No one knows what's going on, and at any point, anything could happen.
We're very confident in knowing that we know nothing.
Congratulations to all of us guys.
We can't really let you go walk away from the stream without letting you know that are brand new.
I guess it's not brand new, but it's still pretty new, you know, pretty new.
We got to tell you about our all new shop guys we have Amazing things are there, including the forever collectible friend of the show shirt that our model over here will show.
We got pillows, cups, blankets, beach towels, pajama soft shirts.
Uh, what else to do But wait.
We got pretty much everything.
Whatever you want, whatever you guys think of.
Yeah, I probably have it.
A lot of the really cheesy designs.
I've been destroying them myself and, like, who have an artist in the family.
I really would love if people would buy more than talk about baseball shirt.
Because I'm really, like, talk about baseball way Got a lot of good shirts.
We got the launch angle shirt that's on there.
It's going to be made.
People love that one.
Really like that one drop, really The past few weeks.
Just going on Dr Wth e ever popular Baber Youth shirt.
Still probably my favorite.
I love that shirt.
Okay, because the whole Baber Youth bit is just hilarious to me. And now we sent.
We sent a box that can you imagine how well we're going to sell those shirts when he hits his home run? Oh my goodness.
Through the roof, I tell.
Yes, we'll be able to buy an elephant to put him in the room will be talking them down the 1 10 visit dodger nation dot com slash shop for some of the freshest new swag, including stuff like that one over there and use promo code B H live 24 20% off.
Use that. Get a fresh shirt. Look.
Att! Playoffs Look good.
Feel good. Look out and ready.
Get the bad ass shirt State.
We appreciate you guys.
And of course, it would not be a live stream if we did not finish up by talking about how bad Kenley Jansen is.
And that's how it's been for the past couple weeks.
So I would say, uh, get your pitchforks and torches ready or whatever mobs do.
Yeah, I've never seen a mob.
I don't really know what they do, but, uh, we got to talk about it because playoffs are coming.
And I can't remember the last team that won a World Series with a bad closer if you can.
If you can think of one, let me know in the moment, please let us know because I couldn't find one.
You can't expect to go, uh, go in against playoff teams of five runs up three runs.
Even. It's gonna be a lot of clothes.
One to run games.
That's kind of just the nature of the beast in the playoffs.
That's how it goes.
Do you trust Kenley Jansen, as of right now in a one run game against the Yankees? No. No.
Neither does he.
I don't think I think we're all kind of on the same boat about reactions last week when I think it's just Ah, yeah, he's working towards it, you know? You got to give him his props are working towards it. That's great.
You know, I work towards being a better person every day as well.
Sometimes I slip up, but I don't have the pressure of a whole city on me.
And right now, like I've been doing, the Twitter casts, you know, with the last one was against Ah was against the Rockies.
Get against Iraqis, right? Going into the ninth inning, we're up 3522 and he did give up a run, and it's just right before that you knew what's gonna happen.
So he's going to get hit.
They're going to steal second and then mess with Kelly's mine.
He's going to give up something, and then life's don't mess up, you know, I think I think the team rallying around him supporting him, Justin Turner, sitting next to him and talking to him.
All those things are great things to see, but right now I just can't deal with it.
I mean, Kenley, it's too late to finally, like open up and let people think Oh yeah, I'm going to start.
I'm open to change.
Like he said that to Michael Dougherty buggered other day, right? He's open to, you know, play in the seventh inning or the 80 any now.
You know we could.
We should've done this a long time ago.
I mean, it's the most logical thing at this point, and the thing I'm seeing the comments is something I wanted to bring them next because we brought it up a few times.
And the person that people would like to have close out games most is, well, it kind of has the anti climactic get into it.
I guess he had to hold it down.
People want Joe Kelly to close out games.
When, just three short months ago, people wanted his head on a plate or something like that, I don't know.
Isn't it funny how baseball works? I love the sport receipts to how you have so I can.
And I can't wait to hear the comments.
Start going. Pulled Twitter receipts. Yeah.
I mean, Joe Kelly has been pretty lights out.
He'd to give up a home run in Arizona and resulting in three earned runs.
That's not a big deal.
I mean, it's, you know, one slip up in the past month and 1/2 or whatever it's been.
He only gave up three earned runs in all of August, and it was on that home run at the end of the month.
Like the last day he pitched in the month.
He did all that over, like, a couple months where Kenley does it in, like, half a penny.
Yeah, that's true in our point.
Um, pretty solid from Mr Joe Kelly, the local man.
He looks like he looked in October last year where nobody can touch him.
A sliders working very well.
His fastball velocities way up, and the movement on it has just still.
I mean, there was that pitching ninja clip that they took of him.
I forget who was against, but the movement Oh, San Diego.
I'm pretty sure the movement he had on his two singers outside Filthy, called a ball on that one, right? No, he called both strikes on the way.
We always out at Cambrai.
He's got a couple of those because the movement on his fastballs is pretty otherworldly.
You know, it's pretty phenomenal what he's done, but, you know, random etchings on YouTube.
He brings up the fact that Joe Kelly lost 10 plus games for the Dodgers.
That number is not accurate, But you are right in the sense that he did blow a lot of games early on.
And I think we I know we were at the game when they when he blew it against the Giants early on in the season.
I think that was their first game of the season that we had gone to together.
But he, uh, yeah, he ****ed off a lot of Dodgers fans really early.
No, because it's a lot for yeah, that's pretty much mostly.
Why, if we didn't pay that much for him, I don't think people would have cared that much like everyone from Boston warned us about that.
I mean, I'm never early in the season.
We did say that Joe Kelly is gonna mess with you in the beginning, but then figure it out towards the end of the season.
But we knew nobody wanted to believe that.
No, and here is and I'm hoping he carries into Dr Weir.
Please, Lord, we need this.
We need a good closer.
We need a good reliever in October. Somebody.
Kenley Jansen Since July 1st 11 earned runs in 19 innings pitched for a 5.
2 earned run average, still not consistently hitting his spots, still, resulting in a lot of untitled me home runs, even if even if he's not produced or he's not allowing a lot of hard contact, he's got one of the lowest heart Contact Racing League.
He's got one of the lowest barrel percentages in the league.
He's not giving up a lot of hard contact.
He's just giving it up at the wrong time, and it's absolutely killing us.
And he finally has a negative wins above replacement.
He's that negative 0.
1 now, just just which I honestly do feel bad for him.
I do big time, you know, you just you're looking.
He's definitely in town. Hit.
It's father time.
I'm old guy, right? I'm older, right? Right.
I feel the pains every day.
And look, he just had kids, too.
So he's getting older with kids and has a huge contract to live up to pretty big country, right? And and he just set us up to just make him.
He did so well before this contract.
2017 was the If you look at the grafts that his number just go down from 2017 once he started, you know, those home runs in the World Series that that's how was he lost his confidence now, was it? I don't even see. I'm trying. I'm looking the numbers.
I don't see a tick up.
I just everything coming down.
And we just have to realize that.
And that's just what happens with a lot of superstar athletes.
Like they're mine thinks their body can do things that their body just can't do anymore.
And he has to realize curse all figured it out.
We've already talked about this, cursed all, figured it out.
He knew how to mix it up.
Kenley needs to learn how to use that slider and stop, you know, shaking off all all of his right.
I think people also forget that Kenley Jansen is actually older than Clayton Kershaw, which a lot of people seem to forget.
I know Kenley sings like a young book because he's like six foot five and looks like an NFL Linemen.
I know people forget that he is a couple months older than Clayton Kershaw, who has experienced a significant drop off in velocity and so he can't possibly expect to succeed with one pitch for the rest of his crew.
You know, for the remainder of his career, however long that might be.
He's an older guy.
It happens, You know.
The lawsuit goes down, your body starts to break down.
I'm already starting to feel the body break down a little bit.
I pulled my quad the other day.
I'm sorry it hurt a lot, but, uh, yeah, I mean, he's got to accept that he's got to be willing to change It.
Sounds like he's open to changing now the more he talks about it, I'm really waiting for him to change with the way he approaches the press.
I think that's when we're gonna see the most significant change when he starts to be really honest with the media because he had a you know, he had that spell where he would kind of bark back of media and say, Nothing's wrong with me and nothing's changed.
I'm on the same person on the same person as 2017.
And somebody was like, Well, so you're telling me I should be waiting for the David s a exclusive interview with Can we just show us? Yeah.
You know, I'm looking forward to that because I think that's going to be really great Once he says that I'm changing.
I'm not the same guy that I waas.
Then I'll be all right.
It's gonna get better. No, no, no, no, no.
It is not getting no look.
He can say all that stuff, but that's what all superstars say.
It's not when you actually do it.
You know, it's also be back in the day, man.
I kept on shooting and he didn't realize he was a detriment of the team until he started realizing, You know, I gotta make the teammates better, and then then finally changed on the court and saw it.
We got to do the pits.
Trucker, You know, every time I do the Twitter cast and he's coming on, I actually keep track of what pitch it is.
It's a cutter, cutter, cutter, cutter, cutter, slider, fastball, cutter, cutter, cutter, cutter, cutter, plus plus like a slow cutter.
Yeah, technically, gig, technically a cutter, but it's not cutting it just sitting there in the middle.
But, um, it's tough, you know, like I wanna pull for the guy and I just actions speak louder than words.
I just want to see him mixing the slider a little bit and just throw that in because the fastball he's doing in there, uh, you know, it seems fine.
But the slider really messes with people when he does it, right? Yeah, believes in himself.
Yet in that he's gotta build his confidence back up.
He's gotta really believe in himself.
He's gotta learn how to trust his teammates a little bit more.
There's just a lot he's gotta work on, and it's gonna take him a little bit the body right way.
All we can really hope is that he finds it soon, and that's all we can hope for.
Les Officer, right around the corner.
