All right. We are live.
This is the Thursday Night Football live reaction show.
I'm Ben Hoyt with Matt Score A and Jack Ainsley is the first show we're doing this way.
We had a similar show on the network, but we're gonna try something out.
Uh, just just a reminder that this is a chauffeur unwrapped sports network.
Check out the other streamers on SportsCastr.
And then you are all set to go on watch all the other creators for unwrapped sports on the SportsCastr.
Nothing right now.
5. 16 left in the first.
But I do want to give some game predictions.
Do you think the Patriots will battle back? Where do you think the Rams will just, uh, Thio keep on with the lead from here? We'll also offers, I think I think that that I think the Pats are gonna bounce back.
I know the score on the bar has out there.
Yeah, but right now it's they're down, They're down 10. Nothing.
Plenty of time out of the game is just the first quarter.
I just like the patriots just after find a way just to get some offensive momentum going.
Once, once Cam Newman gets driving the ball down the field, the Defense Committee stands.
I think they could make a good come back into this game.
Yeah, I have to do with that.
Uh, I don't find the rhythm, and they always they always do.
But although I was kind of stuff to go watching that first drive, I know we went live for it.
But looking at what? What the Rain Rams offense did, too.
By doing it's like 30 during her defense.
Should be interested in Washington.
So on this show, we're gonna be, of course, watching football.
I got the game on my phone.
Man has the game on this TV.
Where do you have your game? App, Jack, From TV on the TV On day, we're gonna be talking some football, talking from sports and also just hanging out.
Have a good time.
So I appreciate you here.
The broadcast, if you just wanted July is have a good time.
Talks in football, etcetera.
So we got 10. Nothing.
58 left to go on my phone.
I don't know if you guys were delayed or I had to me.
So I'm just going by what? So it's fourth and two on the down the hand I have told you.
Are you got 32? Okay, this central, actually way try to the others.
Pop goes plants away.
Well, that took a really good bounce for the Rams, but I I want to get your take on this.
Uh, you know, Jack and I are are Seasons Air kind of done with the Eagles.
Um, that That that's the downfall of living in Philadelphia right now is that we're just in pain.
Um, but not your team's going pretty strong right now.
Green Bay got a win over, coincidentally, the Eagles.
I want to get your eagles take, though.
Do you think Carson Wentz is done in Philly? Do I think Carson once is done in Philly? Uh, it may be a little crazy, but I'm gonna say no.
I mean, I remember the sports shows have said back in the day, Donovan McNabb was benched for, like, the final couple games this season.
He came back next season.
I think the Philadelphia Eagles made to the NFC championship game that next year.
If I'm not, if I'm not mistaken, right? Did that happen? Like 11 of the year's? When McNabb was a starter, he was benched near the end of the season.
He came back next season more motivated, and they made the Ansari championship game.
I remember the the NFC Championship like, uh, those playoff years, the Super Bowl year in the NFC championship year were actually the other way around.
They played Vikings, and then they played the Falcons that year and then you 2017.
We then played the Falcons and then the Vikings.
But yeah, go ahead.
Yeah, I think I think one should be Give another chance.
I mean, look at what he's got around in Philadelphia.
He's got, he's got no weapon.
And you know, I mean, you even look at Philadelphia.
Two consecutive years in a row, pass up on talented receivers.
They had a chance to get DK Mecca.
Instead, they take well.
Arcia, Arteaga, Whiteside.
And then e you miss one. That's a whiff.
It's like, you know, every team has a look at the package.
We decide to take a third string Cuba in the first round.
It happens way mess up on our picks.
But for a second year in a row, you know, obviously the Cowboys stole CD land, but that was kind of, you know, karma for use.
Dallas got it from from them that one year when we retired, so that was understandable.
But you take Jalen Reagor instead of Justin Jefferson.
Who, who could, Who could win rookie of the year, You know? I mean, a lot of people say Rookie of the Year goes to the quarterback most of time.
But I mean, if we're being brutally honest here, I mean, would they really give Justin Herbert Rookie of the year? Even the charges have only three wins.
I don't think so.
You know, if if to, uh you know, if the Dolphins missed the playoffs, would you give it to to, uh, I just I just don't don't know about that.
And, you know, for the Eagles is just two years in a row.
You had a chance toe further, improve your weapons and you just win.
Virginia and Regular.
He shows flashes, but for the most part, has been pretty much hurt.
Could you imagine having Justin Jefferson and D.
Metcalf on the same team with Carson Wentz as your quarterback.
Like, I think I think he would be so much better.
And on top of that, it also doesn't help that his old line has aged right in front of his very eyes, and they're pretty much banged up.
Like Lane Johnson has been pretty much hurt most of the year.
It's just for what you just can't catch a break, you know, like when the Eagles made that Super Bowl run in 2017, when when Scott hurt their team was healthy.
The old line was great.
The defense actually played well.
The receivers knew how to catch passes, and it seems like, really, ever since that run, there's been pretty much injuries and their team just didn't didn't really gel well.
So I think I would I would personally give once a second chance.
Now, if he shows the same struggles next year, that's when you gotta think all right, I think it's time to move on.
But this year I think I think with all the injuries that they've had, you know that you just take this opportunity toe.
Just just revamp A staff revamped the new coach, new GM and take a top 10 pick and draft whatever is best available.
Maybe you get gets him off its wide help for once, you know, with the top 10.
Pick and go from there.
I don't think you're crazy.
I mean, I think you just have to treat this like it's been in all fear.
Something weird happened.
And you gotta go ahead the next year.
Jack, I know you too well, so I can't give you any easy questions.
I've got to give you something different.
I just know you too well.
Um, so this one's gonna be about Doug, because something's gotta change.
I mean, there's been consecutive injuries.
I would say since 2018 and some things go, something has to be going on in camp if I'm gonna be really here.
Uh, Doug, I don't think has been doing the best job, but to give him credit, he's taken us to the playoffs since 2017.
Do you think it's time to move on from Doug or Howard Roseman or both? So I think first of all, I think how it was we need to go.
Which e just mean that you talked about that too? phenomenal.
I will see with missing draft and just the opportunities that we've had.
Um, even when free agency, what we miss on way missed them on Jalen Ramsey.
And we missed out on so many other players that could have made this team.
And I don't think Doug needs to go quite yet, but I do think he needs to give up the play calling because I think e think they need a real lost once in coordinator.
And since, uh, because once is struggling so much with this new system, um, I think they need to go back, toe the drawing board and make getting off of the coordinator that that will fit around once and this offense when they're healthy.
You guys missed out on Jalen Ramsey, too, so it wasn't really missing out.
It was just talks like they were.
They were just talking about Jalen Ramsey, and they were talking about a lot of other players.
Yeah, I I actually completely agree with your point.
I mean, to give Doug credit, he did make the playoffs three straight years.
Uh, most of them without Frank, right? Which I know 2017 looks more Mawr like it was Frank Raikes doing.
But, I mean, I definitely think that offensive responsibility should be gone from Doug.
I mean, he's not physically capable of handling it.
You need to get an offensive coordinator who knows what he's doing.
Knows how toe put, uh, easy plays in Carson's hands so that he feels comfortable in success.
Let's take a look at this game touchdown for uh oh.
It's a defensive touchdown for miles a six.
And that looks like it looks like a good a spoiler alert for Jack.
I'm like I I think I fixed really a little bit on my on my side.
Did did he touch him down? That that that's what they're looking at? It's clearly an interception.
Yeah, they're They're just now seeing a problem.
Woods was down call.
You can't really see it from this angle.
I think he touched him.
Yeah, he might have.
I think I think you're gonna see in this angle.
Oh, yeah, he got No, he got him.
You know how the little sidekick or thing updates.
Has this been at, like, seven? Yeah.
I mean, I think it should have update.
We'll do the updating around these quarters.
We'll do our broadcasting job and do the updates around here.
Do you have any questions on the on the other side of things.
The reverse three and nine.
The nine and three Packers.
So how? Yeah, How How is your confidence? I mean, it must be pretty high right now, but are you scared that you're going to have, uh, Thio be projected for this deep playoff run and fall short again? Well, I would say last year's expectations with Matt LaFleur under his first year here they were.
They were low for me.
I just hope that last year we would have made the playoffs like that was my standard going on.
I was like, Alright, rookie head coach Matt LaFleur.
It was in Tennessee, you know.
He was all right as a coordinator.
What do we have? A healthy Rogers.
We should make the playoffs.
That was kind of Michael at first.
Like if we make the playoffs fantastic, maybe it will make it to the wild card round divisional round.
But how we did last year with Matt LaFleur.
How great he was, which Rogers even it is so called down year.
26 touchdowns, four picks and 4000 yards.
And then, on top of that, a 13 and three record with the number two seed in in the NFC making it to the NFC championship game.
That was That was great.
Even though we lost the 40 Niners, I felt very good about that season because, I mean, you mean to tell me what the rookie head coach of map before he leaves his team one game away from the Super Bowl like that? That was impressed.
Now the draft, uh, it was it was not a good draft.
Now, the later picks were good when we drafted the offensive linemen and stuff near the end of the round.
I think that that was good because it's helped shore up now, especially with all the injuries that we've had.
Lain Taylor, Corey Linsley seeing Elton Jenkins shipped over to center and then having one of our drafted guys are onions start at one of the guard positions.
I think that's been a huge edition and even even I know you guys barely barely heard of him.
That was just a a day guara before he got his season ending injury.
And like week to Week three, he was He was a very good tight end for us.
He kind of served as a role, like how Mercedes Lewis is doing good blocking tight end.
But when you need the catch, you could make a catch.
That's what Jaguar was doing before you got her.
And obviously, you know, our for our first two draft picks.
A lot of people are gonna look at it and say, Why would we do that? Why would we draft the third string quarterback with the first round pick? And why would we take a third string running back? But the second round pick well, A.
J Dillan has officially returned off the Coben list.
I like what he brought to the table, even though it's a limited amount of snap.
I mean, I think Green Bay looked at this and say, Look, we have two running backs are two main backs.
Erin Jones and Jamal Williams are gonna be free agents.
You take a great deal in the second round, and it's kind of you know? All right, pick and choose.
You know, depending on Erin Jones is asking Price because we could obviously we could still franchise tag Erin Jones.
But But But if he's gonna be, uh, a stringent and say I'm not taking a franchise tag, Yeah, they're gonna pay me or I'm gonna walk.
Then you go in a situation where you're like, OK, you know, Grant, it would be terrible toe let let him walk because you want to keep parts of offense.
But, you know, we could bring back to mall willing for a cheaper price, and then we have a J.
Dillan who would get more touches.
So that's kind of more leverage there Now first round pick Jordan love.
There's no excuse behind that.
I don't know why the hell we took Jordan love with the first round pick.
I'm still going to think about this till this day until he's somehow place now, one thing that I hope could happen just as a fan of error.
For a long time, I hope this Jordan love situation like Garoppolo everyone.
Garoppolo was drafted by the Patriots in 2014 in the second round, and then when Brady kind of had a slow start in 2014 and got bench for Garoppolo is like, Oh, break Brady's type.
His end end is near.
You know Garoppolo is gonna start, you know, be the next next big thing in New England.
Well, three years later, two Super Bowl wins later, Brady pulled the power move gets Garoppolo out of town.
Garoppolo goes in San Francisco.
New England wins another Super Bowl, and all things I would say went well for both sides in New England.
They made it since GRAPO was traded.
They made it 22 syllables, 11 And the Niners made it 21 as well with Garoppolo.
So I hope that the same situation with with Jordan love.
Obviously he's not ready now.
He's not gonna push Aaron Rodgers.
A lot of people, for some odd reason, said, Oh, Jordan Love Committee, push Roger Thorpe Even next year.
He's not really No.
I think the join the Love Project is gonna be like Rodgers 3 to 4 years.
Then then see what happens.
You know, I'd say, and especially with Rogers contract, you're not gonna moving on from them after neck specially with how he's playing this year.
This year is playing like an M V p.
And you know, I think I think so far, you know Green has done good.
I mean, one thing I want to do is I can Hopefully there's a pre season next year, but I just want to see what the kid Jordan love like before before Kobane hit.
Normally, the preseason is just to see higher draft picks.
And I'm telling you, if there wasn't any covert, I would have loved to see how join the love just because he had a whole lot of hype around.
And if that was really hype, like if he actually is legit.
Okay, you know, we took him in the first round, which I don't like, but he's just got some talent.
Next 34 years, he really could be the guy, but it's a situation where you pick him in the first round.
He looks like dog **** in the preseason.
It's like, Yo, why would we raise the first round pick on him when he could have had Michael Pittman, who could help the Packers right away? Patrick Queen, which would have made an instant impact right away and even a guy like a chase clip.
So I think that join the love pick that we had in the first round will forever be a mystery until he plays, whether it's for Green Bay or somewhere else.
You know that's forever going to be a mystery.
Have to see what happens.
But even, you know, so far this season be being nine and three.
I'm not surprised that we're 93 you know.
I went into the season, you know, with with a lot of high expectations.
I love their schedule when it first came out, you know before before the season started and as Cameron through six.
Like now it is 17.
Nothing, nothing round 16, nothing soon to be that was thrown.
That was such a week.
Throw on and just think they just got like an interception on one play.
And then the next play, Cameroon decided God here, let's see, Let's see what Cam Newton does so quick play action.
Oh, that that was bad.
The running back must have messed up because it looked like it was a screen pass.
But it was just a flat out this.
Yeah, let me I'm seeing the replay.
Now let's see where that running backs going.
He gets caught by the linemen right there.
So you can't in that situation.
If you're Cam knew, you just gotta throw it on the ground and call it a day.
You can't. You can't make that.
You. So what? I've seen Waas.
He did get caught by that lineman.
And I saw also that came basically threw it over his head like he definitely overthrew it.
And that's just a recipe for a pick Right there.
I want to do something real quick.
I want to try this out real quick.
Uh, just just a little ice breaker.
What was the last sporting event you went to before? Covic, Jack, I'll let you start this time, right? So last 11 is a fan or like, working something? No, I could say I worked something even after Kobe, but ah, fan pre cove.
It, um, supporting as a fan was a It was a Flyers game in December against the Buffalo Sabers.
Oh, yeah, because wasn't it that we went to the stadium? Siri's And then you went right right after that.
It was it was that? That was another game against sabers, right? Yes, because I got So I got a ticket.
I got tickets from a birthday from both from both parents, and one was the stadium trays.
And the other one was just like Tuesday after against e.
No, we were at the same stadium, serious game against the Penguins.
And I was an idiot and left because I'm like, more enough.
And I'm like, there's no way they're coming back.
E beat them 43 But Matt, how about Well, I Well, the clothing I went toe one, actually during covert, But before four, the last sporting event that I went to before Cove It it waas It was the Los Angeles Kings versus the Colorado Avalanche in February.
It was It was It was cool.
My my uncle actually had he had, he had two little things that he gave me.
He gave me tickets for the for the King's Avalanche.
That was actually good game, Avalanche 1 to 1 of the shootout, just a regular one.
And I was supposed to go before Kobe hit.
I had tickets Tub, the Lakers and Jazz at Staples Senator March 18th.
I had tickets to that game.
Obviously, that that did not happen.
But that was my last sporting event before Kobe Waas, Colorado Avalanche versus the Los Angeles Kings.
So I I have a different situation.
So we had a basketball day.
We took the train in New York and we just We spent some points on a luxury box in Madison Square Garden for ST John's Marquette.
That was in the day.
And then we decided to take the train back to 30th Street Station at night and Sea Pen vs Colombia because we have the season tickets at the pill esta And, uh, that was the last sporting event.
I went thio pre Covic.
I did go toe a, uh, sporting of professional sporting event during Cove.
It and I also, of course, work some games during covert as well.
But that was the pre co vid sports experience.
It was a fun one. E.
I think a game are against our I think that the two games was actually March 8.
So it was right before, So I got a little lucky, but yeah, What are you saying that yeah, I was just saying about that Pre Covad days.
Those were the good times where you just sat around next to strangers.
And when your teams do well, you just gave a random ass stranger.
Good old high five.
Now one event that I did go to during Cope it was actually Packers was Texas.
I was at that game When, When? When? When it went down.
What's a texting Mass right there? There was, even with the limited fans.
There are a lot of pack there and it's It's It's Ah, it's a different experience, like obviously, prik over the crowds buzzing like I'm telling you right now, they were Packers Texans, prick obeyed.
The NRG State would be buzzing just because of Roger's first Watson.
Everybody would go and see that, but pretty cool.
It was more quiet like like, you know, like normally, like in the over Laos because, like down and then like the crowd gets all his third down, it's it's like nothing.
It's like, Oh, we're down, Okay, it doesn't it doesn't have the same vibes like, obviously, it's cool to be there in person because you know you're in person, Yes, but it just doesn't have the same same vibe.
Yeah, I haven't gone to the Eagles this year.
We usually have this season tickets for those as well, but I can't imagine the link with that that it's not buzzing I can't like.
Picture that because the game against the Vikings the playoff game I wanted Thio was such a party like people were just rejoicing like, I think I saw some people carrying some other people.
Like I don't I think they're probably strangers to That's just Philadelphia, but, um I don't know, It's I can't wait to go back.
Hopefully when Covitz over What's this flag for holding? Yeah, it was holding holding on the offense.
Yeah, but, Jack, you gotta agree with me.
Yes, I I really do.
I e haven't been, actually, but I worked or been there sporting event since.
So what started? I like the weekend before everything happened, like cover the my school's basketball.
A conference basketball championship.
Um, e s o. I wasn't on the call.
I was, uh I was on the camera because there's, uh there's two other guys that one's or the cut the color guys older than me.
Well, I'm gonna try and take over this year, depending on Netflix Watermark, but, oh, I think there was another school where you were cameraman to I kind of forget it.
I'm I've been camera for for the games that I don't I only called one game, and that was that.
That was a football game, was a blowout.
But But I think in high school you were a cameraman to I had it was Cameron for you guys, but correct, uh, for those who don't know, Jack and I were in the same Brokenness network before he graduated, and he joined unwrapped sports.
And that's how I joined unwrapped sports.
So glad to be part of the family.
Um, what do I uh I think the last game I worked waas, uh, the game against Markle.
And it's totally different.
And I completely agree with Matt where you go, people are wearing masks.
You know, the smoke that from the shack, there's no smoke, It's quiet, it's it's really weird.
And it's just there are fans there, and there's some noise, but it's not the atmosphere like you would get for homecoming or want to? Let's let's get back to the game 17.
10. 10 left to go.
It's the third and two right now.
Uh 01 thing I do want to add, Billy fans were definitely a passionate bunch.
Me and my friend A couple of years ago, we were actually at the game where the Philadelphia Eagle fans took over StubHub Center when they played the Chargers.
There were a ton of evil wave a lot.
They when the charges were coming out, you heard boos.
And then, of course, the way Oh, okay.
Eso and then And then, of course, you know, I saw I saw a blunt force trauma.
As you know, McGarrett, Blunt song run through, make a couple of great plays.
I'm glad you guys knew what it was.
Blunt force trauma.
Because if you were blanking at first, I'm just like, Oh, yes.
Remember we were trying to go to a Golden Knights game? That didn't happen.
Yeah, when you went to Vegas, eso they ran out a ticket and and I was so disappointed because we ended up going out to dinner that night and it was good.
Um, Dad just told me my senior year present.
You're going to Vegas again? I'm going back to Vegas, but not for hockey.
Call the Raiders.
Yeah, most 2021.
, you know, there's probably gonna be a hell of a lot of fans, e I'm just trying not to die a b of the black hole.
I wanna meet me personally.
I want to see what the black hole atmosphere is like in the new Allegiant Stadium because obviously, like the old Raider statement Oakland like there was, like, the black hole because, you know, it was based.
Yeah, there was like, the spot I want.
I wonder if there's gonna be, like, the same spot.
I like Allegiant Stadium.
It's a hell of a nice day.
And, like, I love Allegiance Day.
And I love how they made it.
Obviously, you have to put a roof because it's Vegas pot.
Yeah, let's see.
It seems like a good little place, A same thing with the state that we're watching right now, So feisty.
And that that's a beautiful like like I guess I guess it was supposed to be finished last year.
But I guess there was, like, a little like rain thing, and it, like, delayed it.
So it actually, cos this year backers.
But the charges last year double.
I mean, if they were at the so feisty and I would have been had, you know, it was not, but I was still glad, you know, Went toe went to the game.
It was it was the West Coast Packers, something Green Bay Packers there.
A lot of back above state last year.
And for those of you guys who are paying attention to us, it is fourth and goal.
Rams are currently up 17 nothing with seven minutes left to go, they're going for it.
Yeah, they're going for it.
They stopped on fourth and goal.
Be my best Joe Buck impersonation.
But younger it is literally done.
Pearson not tell for literally against the Ravens were like, huh? We gotta think of a two point version.
What's going Option zone That reduction in our P o play way can They ran that state play against Seattle in a week to where they have can do and roll out to the right.
No roll out the left and then see what happens.
But you can't run that play when you're down after three years before yard like you just can't now if you have the what if you have the one or two yard line I can understand? Well, you gotta.
You gotta either pass it or we're running.
But I think that shows that Bill's not confident in Cambodia's past being which I have a question about the Patriots for you guys like a zoo, Long as I can remember, like growing up, the Patriots have been a dynasty.
You have always been afraid of the Patriots.
Now, now we haven't seen this team anymore.
Is it kind? Is it just me, or is it kind of relieving? Seeing the Patriots not as good, it's awesome.
Speaking as someone who has family members who are who are from Buffalo.
And there's a course of those fan, it's the best thing in the world.
Yeah, like I saw likes to God's, uh, if you know who he is.
He is on ESPN, and he's like this lifelong Jets fan, and it's so funny because it's like this is our division Now.
Brady's gone and they just go like, Oh, in 16.
What's funny is I predicted the Jets to go one and 15 before the season even started, and they might finished worse than that.
I mean, they had a chance to win like that.
They changed the rig.
I will say if they if the Jets get the number one overall pick, they gotta think Gregg Williams for calling it all out blitz on marriage situation for getting the number one pick.
He better be heralded as a hero, especially if Trevor Lawrence is as legit as everybody says he is, because some people say Trevor Lawrence is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck and John Elway, and we know how those prospects turned out.
Elway turned into a two time Super Bowl champion, Andrew Luck, before injuries derailed.
His career was leading the Indianapolis Colts to the playoffs.
Year in and year out.
Yeah, Trevor Lawrence can be something special, and I think for the Jets, you just got it. You got your case.
I mean, gays has got to go.
I mean, maybe gave the GM another chance.
But, you know, if you're the Jets, it's kind of like What? What do you have to do? I mean, it is not just one thing.
It is not just one.
The whole team, like the whole kind of culture and chemistry of the Jets, is a disaster.
Also, they need to drive very well this year.
Not like for for if they do have to everyone that they were going to go after lunch.
They need to drop very well to put people around him.
And and they need to get a good trade package from Sam Donaldson.
I'll tell you right now, if you draft Lloyd startled on the block, you're you're not gonna have.
Darnell's your backup.
So if you draft Trevor Lawrence, your training, Sam Donald, you better get some draft picks.
You're not getting a first, but better get, like, a couple seconds in a third.
You know, for Sam, Donald and and my pay.
And who knows? You know, my my great friend, uh, Sam daring.
I think he even stated like it's not It's not Sam Donaldson coaching staff.
I think I think here referred to them maybe taking like another weapon or even alignment.
Just album out and then keep Donald there.
I'm just gonna do that.
Coach, you had coaching and see kind of what happens as from there.
But the Jets are an utter mess.
Like like the Jets thing, John.
Answer five and seven.
Yet they're unfortunate the Knicks are the Knicks.
And even though the Mets got new ownership, it's still little Mets.
I mean, come on.
Now, how do we do we if we're being honest here? Like like, if New Yorkers are being honest with themselves? Do we really believe the Mets are gonna make any big boats in the off season? They tried for J.
T? But that's not gonna happen.
Yeah, Yeah, Exactly.
Like like they say, O J.
Do we really believe that they're gonna sign any of those guys? Hell, no.
It's like the Knicks.
When they said, Oh, we're gonna get Zion, Katie and Kyrie.
And then at the end of the day, you get ****ing Julius Randle.
Bobby Portis, like the Mets were like, Oh, my God, We're gonna We're gonna get J T Realmuto, Trevor Bauer, George Springer.
And they're gonna walk away with some with some washed up scrub like some other Philip players.
Yeah, by the way, Jack, I am extremely frustrated with the comments of Middleton saying that JT is unlikely.
I just I just stopped with me at right now.
I do want to ask.
You guys want question? Since you're from Philadelphia, do you? Do you guys both like everything? Philadelphia sports? Even the Phillies? Yeah, you nice things.
What do you guys think of the Philly situation? Obviously, the last two years have been utterly disastrous.
Fourth place, almost both years.
You got Bryce Harper.
Do you think if you're the Philadelphia Phillies, you just shrimp down and go forward rebuild? Or do you think you should try Try something with Harper? Because it seems like when you guys signed Bryce Harper at first it looked like you were going to compete with the Braves in the n.
But last two years, you've been pretty much bottom feeders.
Yeah, And the division.
How do you guys? How do you guys really a personalities? And do you guys want to try? And maybe because obviously you traded for a J real mood.
Oh, do you Should you try and resign real mudo Or do you just simply bite the bullet, let him walk and then go after the peace? Well, here's the thing.
I don't think we can rebuild again because we've done that for so long.
And I think the fans or everything in Philadelphia and that's how they make money.
And if they need money for other players, they need the fans.
So they need to keep up like they're contending, Uh, J t Realmuto so good.
I don't think nap in the I don't even know the other catcher's name like it starts with.
No, there's a there.
There was another guy to that came up, but I completely forget his name now.
Either way, Nap is not getting the job done.
He's not gonna dio that great.
And I think we need we need JT for batting help because he was a big bat for us this offseason.
No, this not off season.
This season, You know what I mean? Um, we definitely definitely need relieving pitching help, because literally, when I see Hector Neris, my spine goes to Chile.
Oh, you know, a guy.
I think I watched the Phillies in the bottom of the night.
Maybe five times because I knew they were gonna blow it like e.
I will say when I watched Hecker Hector Neris blow saves and in real time I was at I was at the Dodgers Phillies game.
When Will Smith, in his first career walk off home run against Hector Neris? First, I don't firsthand what Philly fans feel like, and it's definitely direct.
It's like we don't have any good relief pitchers.
The one the one we did have who actually was my neighbor a little while back. Pattni shock.
Um, I don't believe Sir Anthony's.
Okay, Um, I don't I don't I can't even one good reliever on our team.
David Robinson was supposed to be good.
That's what happened.
It's so frustrating that we put the bags together and the bathroom doing well.
But the pitching is just so awful.
Like I leave my beach house for literally an hour and, like at the bottom of the no, actually, I left at the bottom of the sixth because we were having a big lead against the Blue Jays and go get some pizza way lose.
I am so frustrated.
I see and then the second game.
I see Roman Quinn come up to bat when we're losing.
I'm like we're done.
He can't hit for his life.
E Just so you get emotion with this man and both of our emotions that well, I will say it's definitely been been a rough, rough year for Philadelphia sports.
I will say I'm sorry, toe be more of like a positive light.
My, my sports teams so far this year, I mean, I always talking What? They've been very good.
They've been very, very good.
My sister goes by, twin sister goes toe ls you? Obviously.
In January, they won the national championship with job.
Oh, was a great It's a great time.
My sister was a legend for a couple hours because she got beat from Joe Bones.
So she was like, the bait center of attention.
That's over there. Uh, yeah.
L s u one of that.
Obviously like they think Now they impose themselves one year bull band for this year.
Which of my pages like money? Wait, how has that worked? I saw that I saw it and I wasn't sure So that's some universal way.
Imposed ourselves a one a one year bowl ban.
Because we have we have We have this incident that's going on, and it is one of those, like, I think it was gonna be a one year bowl ban.
Anyway, So this year, Because if there's one thing you don't wanna have happens if somehow l s u bounces back goes like, maybe like, eight or nine wins, you don't wanna be a ballgame.
Did you wanna be with you all? I got three wins.
You're, like, three and five on your way to three and six.
Might as well take this.
And obviously, you know, like l s u sucks issue because obviously, most players contract.
You see it every given Sunday, Joe Burrow climbed out with the layer Patrick Queen Klavan chasing over great awesome to watch.
Oh, yeah, it was awesome.
It was unbelievable.
A You know, Justin Jefferson.
What? You seem like it.
The gritty, you know, that does little gritty Greek dance.
You know, it was a fun team. No one.
It definitely was a fun team to watch it.
And then and then on top of that another good sports moment.
They didn't want it all.
But I love watching the Dallas Stars in the hockey playoffs.
I've been following Dallas for a couple of years because I have two main team.
So I have the Anaheim Ducks and then the Dallas Stars because, you know, I live in Texas now, and I had a lot of relatives in Texas.
So I'm like, All right, you know, let's see what Dallas Stars could do.
Third seed made it all the way to the standard Confound.
Now I kind of knew they were gonna lose the town I knew.
Going into that series, I'm like, You know what? I'm glad Dallas makes the final, but we're probably gonna lose it.
Let's see how many games going.
And they did losing six.
And so that that that one, I really wasn't mad about it.
I was like, Oh, you know what? Good for Dallas, you know, after after they suffered a heartbreaking loss to ST Louis last year in Game seven.
I mean, that's devastating like it was like a hockey perspective.
You're a double overtime in Game seven and you lose because the puck takes a weird bounce off the post behind behind Bishop and Pat Maru just goes in and scores in like that.
That's a That's a tough way to go out.
Yeah, I know Washington.
Think that is Yeah, Seeing Dallas go to Santa Cup final was and they had some.
They had some trouble veterans to on that squad.
Like seeing Jamie Benn finally go to the final.
Joe Pavelski. I think everybody loves Joe Pavelski.
Seeing him make it back to the finals was good to see and then be being a Ducks fan.
I love that Corey Perry was on that squad being able to make it there even though they didn't win it all. It was just good to see.
Then, of course, you know me being from California, City of Champions.
Seeing the Lakers win it all for Kobe was fantastic.
Now I obviously wasn't like emotional tears wise because I kind of Lakers won a championship because you know, they're they're America before the ball, like nor like like when the eagle close to where you guys were probably super ecstatic because before the season you did.
You have no idea what to do with the Lakers.
You got LeBron and anti David.
Obviously, you're gonna win the championship.
So it's kind of like when we when we got to the bubble, I kind of knew I was like, All right, you know, Lakers are probably the best team out.
They're probably going to win a championship, you know, if we do have something, feel excited and I was excited.
But nothing tops the excitement Mawr than seeing my Los Angeles Dodgers finally getting over the hump and winning the championship.
Not not not not tears wise, but I didn't cry.
But I jump up and down with joy, screaming loud, so happy it was It was It was great.
It was great to see that happen and, you know, and I wish that was the reason why I wish they had fans in the stands because if they were actually fans in the stands, it would have been at Dodger Stadium.
And I want to imagine how crazy Dodgers Stadium would have been if they would have won it all in L.
That that was That was beautiful for me.
Tow, watch happening and then and then what's cool is my dad when they won.
The world is in 1988 Was my age 18, 90 18 years old.
And here I am, 18, 19 years old, 30 too late, 30 years later and they win the chance.
So that was a great thing to see.
And, of course, the Green Bay Packers have a good chance of winning this well this year.
Now I won't say they will, because obviously they got they got some tough competition to go through, but nine and three record through 13 weeks, I say I say is pretty solid.
And then to go off the question, I asked earlier how I like my chances this year.
I love our chance.
I love the Green Bay chance agreement, Packers chances this year.
I do feel like this is definitely one of the last years.
Rogers has a chance to win a ring.
It's kinda it's kinda hard to admit, but we got a lot of guys that are gonna hit Bridges.
Obviously, we took care.
Kenny Clarke took care of David Bakhtiari, but we got some other guys that they're gonna have free agency like Erin Jones, Jamal Williams, Corey Linsley, Kevin King, like that's a lot of decisions to make.
You know who to tag, who designed.
And, you know, there's gonna be nothing to see how agreement a taxi off season.
But for right now, I mean, we have a good chance the Green Path Hackers have a good chance to get the number one seed.
Yeah, the States Or 10 and two right now.
But I'll even I'll even show the I'll pull up the same schedule.
I'll even say the Green Bay Packers schedule were nine and three right now.
And our remaining games are at Detroit, home to Carolina, home to Tennessee, but with right? Likely easy.
Our toughest remaining name is probably Tennessee.
And even with Tennessee, you never know what kind of Tennessee team you're gonna get.
Are you gonna get the one where Derrick Henry decides to just if Pharma man and then his career? Or are you gonna get the Tennessee Times that you saw last last Sunday in the first half where they couldn't muster up a point and Derrick Henry was shut down? You know, you never know what you're gonna get out of there, but for the same, they're 10 and two.
But you got the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, dubs the Philadelphia Eagles.
You're very you got Jalen hurts and we've seen where a rookie Q B They get their first started there on fire.
I mean, looking DeShaun Watson when he made his debut against this and that.
I mean, a lot of people didn't really expect Watson to do that well, but he's surprised people.
So who knows what happened? Um, hurts.
And then, on top of that, the Saints, for two weeks in a row, they got the Kansas City Chiefs, who are battling for the number one seed but the Minnesota Vikings, who are bowing for a playoff spot.
I mean, that many sort of Vikings, and that's not gonna be easy for this.
Even even, you know, for last two times they played each other in the playoffs, Vikings being twice, and you got Week 16 Minnesota Vikings, who are actually in competition to get a playoff spot.
You bet You best believe the Vikings, they're gonna put everything they have out in that week 16 matchup.
So and then you know the same thing.
Close out with the Panthers, but States could go either for No.
Three in one or two and two.
And if you're Green Bay, all you need is one loss.
Because Green Bay remember, beat the Saints in Week three.
So we got the tiebreaker over the Saints.
So, essentially, if found, Green Bay, the record is good right now, 93 But if they want a chance to get the number one seed, they pretty much have the winner.
So pretty much have to go undefeated, 13 3 because I think if they go 12 and four, I don't think they get the one seed now.
That doesn't mean we get, like, the two or three seed that you know, we'll probably get a two or three seats.
But, you know, from Green Bay, I would much prefer a first round bye.
And I like her chances mawr.
I mean, I've been I've been telling my great friend Sam during this all year.
I said, If Green Bay gets a number one seed this year, I love our chances of making it to the Super Bowl.
But if we get a two or three seed, it's gonna be a little bit more challenging because even if there isn't any fans in the stands for the postseason traveling toe Lambeau Field in January.
I mean, that's going to be ah, hard.
This could be a hard thing for for for teams to do, because I'm telling you right now.
Frozen Tundra, Green Bay, Wisconsin, in January.
I don't think anybody wants to be there, General, because it gets single digits.
It gets cold up there in Green Bay was going.
And even if Green Bay were to be the number one seed, they would either play.
You know they would play, you know, possibly the Seahawks, which we beat the Seahawks almost every time they go to Lambeau Field.
Love our chances there.
Uh, if we somehow if we somehow play an NFC East team, I like our chances there.
Even if we gotta play Minnesota or Arizona like our chances there, there's a team that I would say that would give us competition.
That's in a wildcard.
I'd probably say Tampa Bay, that's if they're the number one seed now.
If there if there are two or three seed, I mean, you gotta play Minnesota or Arizona like our chances against their, but you know, you being the three.
So you probably have to go up against, you know, if the Rams win, you probably it's gonna be a tough team. It's not gonna be easy.
In my honest opinion, I do think Green is one of the top teams in the NFC.
Like if you had to pick teams, go to the Super Bowl.
I think I always top three would be probably Saints Packers rant just from right now.
People won't put Tampa Bay up there because Tampa Bay has been slumping as of lately.
The only reason why Tampa would even be considered is because of Tom Brady, but Tom Brady has not look good.
His age has definitely showed this year, and really, his receiving corps hasn't really been gelon like like they've been injured.
They haven't been clicking on all cylinders.
I'll bet you gotta consider Tampa Bay as a top team.
Yes, it could be.
And they have the curse of hosting this whenever any team hosted suitable, you know you're not going there like I know what Tom Brady said into a 54.
I'm not gonna be wearing a jacket again, and next year I was like Yes, you are because you're in Tampa and you host the school.
No home team has ever hosted assuming the closest team ever.
That **** with San Francisco.
But they didn't play at their home stand.
A Candlestick Park.
It was on the Rose Bowl, or like Stanford's University, which is, like, right there.
So I think the curse is gonna live on Tampa Bay is gonna go far now.
I do think Tampa Bay will probably win a playoff game.
That's about it.
As you know, as of right now, there the sixties.
If they somehow beat the Ram, which are the third seed right now, they'd have to travel to New Orleans in the Dome, and they've already lost the Saints twice.
You think they could beat the States again? I don't know about.
I don't think they can.
So it's gonna be watching to see what what kind of happens there.
And I know I've clearly backtracked off of how I feel about the agreement packers.
But then the short answer is I feel very great about agreement.
Were nine and three.
Well, one of them, in my opinion, one of the best teams in the NFL.
I think whatever you do, whenever you do a power rankings, you know, a top five.
I think green is gonna be up.
You know, obviously, I think you got the chief.
You got the Steelers.
You got the Saints at 12 and three.
But I think that number four number five green has got to be in that conversation.
He was gonna be in that conversation.
Number four, number five.
I think you could probably put Green Bay four Buffalo five.
I think, if hopefully Stephen A.
Smith is somehow some way listeners.
But you're Stevens A List.
This is Stephen A.
Should be the Chiefs dealers saying Bill back.
Yeah, I I want to go back to your point about how the Dodgers won the championship when you were 19.
I remember the last time the Phillies won the championship.
I was watching it and I remember how old I waas.
I was four or five years old.
Yeah, that was the last time they won the championship.
And I think, uh, Green Bay, you were certainly right where you have a home field advantage because of the cold in Philadelphia, the advantage you have been playing for this city is that you not only have to take on the Eagles, you have to take on your you have to take on their fans.
I mean, this is probably the only city.
Maybe New York were like a 10 year old will curse you out.
I mean, that's a type of city that we're in, and I haven't I The new stations air lucky this year that there's Cove it.
I mean, there there are some interviews and you hear, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry to interrupt you bed, but kind of going off to what you said.
If there are fabulous stands for Philadelphia, everyone get without booze.
That's how I put that in the Philadelphia Eagles are There'd be booze and they would be fired.
Doug Peterson, fire Howie Roseman, Sell the team.
I know one of those three would happen, and they probably say they probably have signs in there that says whence you think Get off the field, you farm.
I I think those signs would have been worse, Matt, Just my humble it.
It's kind of like the last year with Andy Reid, but then you know what I'm talking about.
Just remember, in the last two or three games with Andy Reid, uh, even you could hear.
I remember hearing over the TV broadcast Just a huge fire, Andy Chance.
And and we knew was that Yeah.
Yeah, about the news stations.
I mean, you like Jack? You've seen some six ABC action news interviews after losses that are absolutely insane.
Those I pray for those reporters, e I think the news stations were lucky.
The radio stations are, ah, lot less lucky this year here.
I mean, w i p and you have 97 5.
The fanatic, those radio host must be exhausted from everyone's bewildered, bewildered takes out of desperation.
It's It's just this city were in There's no middle ground.
I mean, there is extreme and there's mawr extreme one way or the other.
And I I think that, uh, with other cities, there's a lot of middle ground, like let's do a little bit of both.
I think one thing I will say one thing.
I will say jobs.
Your fans are hell of passionate.
When we were before we won the World Series this year, any bad game the Dodgers had.
Whether you follow any of the Dodgers accounts, they would go hard after it fired Dave Roberts.
Kenley Jansen blows the game, get rid of Janse and he's washed.
He's finished, but that was before for And that's the thing, I think with all sports teams before you win the big big game.
Yeah, any any fan base is gonna be hella passion.
Especially like your families in Philadelphia.
I mean, they, they say, is probably love.
But to be honest with you, when you and your sports, when you suck in your star, they go hard at you, they don't They don't care because the fans in Philadelphia, they pay money to see you.
It's like you pay money to see me.
Not they pay money to see you and Philadelphia, the hardworking city.
They're not gonna waste their money to see a pathetic.
Yeah, but what I will say about that is it does work two ways.
Like when? Um, yeah.
So if you think Well, actually, then you left.
But going back to that stadium stairs game, how is that? I was unbelievable.
I'll never I've never seen like the stadium serious.
I know they did have a state in one year, but it was, like, 2014, and I really wasn't in the hockey at that time.
How is it like, Jack? Do you modify Bring something in real quick about the winter closet? It was great tonight that we went was rainy and cold.
And the halftime acts, I could be little less pond off.
I mean, the first intermission.
I don't really wanna be listening to Keith Urban in the rain.
That's is my humble opinion.
But, uh, then if I go back to my point, like so going into the second air mission that you could hear like, uh, well, all of them were.
I remember when the fires were going into the locker room after after second admission down 3 to 1, you could hear like, uh, people were leaving.
They're booing, they blowing the crap out of them.
And then, um what? After that game, it was it was It was like it was like a whole different fan base.
It was unbelievable.
I'll never, ever forget leaving.
That stated, uh, leaving leaving that stadium from that from that game just so like just people hearing people screaming and, uh, screaming and chanting Crosby ****s, And we just, um What? What was it? Was it at the link? Yes, it was that the link at the link was unbelievable.
Yeah, but here's the thing that to Jack's point, it goes both ways because if if you work hard and do well, this city will love you till the bitter end.
But they need results.
And at the end of the day, and if you're not getting the results, I mean, we boo the other thing about Philadelphia that astonishing May when I go to the Eagles getting every year.
Uh, most fans are actually pretty nuts, like from opposing.
They're very chill. They're timid.
They know what they're doing.
They don't pester us, but consistently Dallas, Washington, New York, and maybe New England.
At times, they will go out of their way to pester us, and they make the dumbest decisions I've ever seen.
Because we're like, we won't bother you if we if you don't bother us.
And and the fans were literally like, Dude, just shut up, please, like we're letting you be.
No, dude, stop! Stop! If you do this again.
We're going to beat you up, and then they do it again.
I pray for your health and everything, but you brought it on yourself.
Have you have you guys, you guys, all the families? Youtuber E d p 445? Yes.
Have you ever seen him any of the Philly games? I have not watched him like, but I have not seen them at any of the games.
The people I have seen that the games were Ryan Howard was behind me in a box.
Oh, you lucky dog.
What was that? What was that? Was that like during his prime years, Like where he was 40 to 50 homers? Or was it kind of like his down years Retired, like way after he retired? You fancy still like Ryan Howard? E o.
He's He's the reason why I love baseball.
He's my whole team.
I went to his last game.
Yeah, I can Uh huh.
He's the reason why I wiil baseball in that whole truth.
You went to that last game too.
Did you get the cut out of our have it? It's in the garage.
What if you want to go get it? Like I could talk to Matt for a little bit.
Um, so, yeah, What was I going to say? Because we are Oh, yes.
So there was this one time.
There's a hairstylist around us called Joseph Anthony's.
And it's great, Great haircuts.
Great on great waiting room. Great service.
And I'm the only one there.
I didn't want to get my hair cut because I was like, I was just, like, not in the mood for it.
And I was wearing this filly shirt for some reason.
And the woman's like, Do you like the Phillies? And I'm like, in a bad mood.
So I'm like, Yeah, and And she said, Cole Hamels is back there getting his hair cut.
Would you like to meet him? Eh? So I got to meet Cole Hamels while getting my haircut.
I could name every single player on the 2000 and eight Phillies.
I was so invested in it because our team was so good.
I mean, I've met at least half of the Phillies lineup, the events or stuff like that.
I love that team.
That team will be etched in my heart forever.
How did you get? Did you get or hear your microphones Need? I would still mute.
It says I'm meeting now.
See if you could, uh, Jack, See if you can fix your headphones.
That says I'm here, but for some reason, we can't hear any audio coming out of coming out of like your You're here.
But so some reason your audio is while Jack's fixing the audio, let's give a quick update on the game, isn't it? 17, 3.5.
Yes, that is perfect.
Are scoreboard is not working? S o, we'll be giving updates.
