You want me to put it in the instagram or you want to do that? Um, I can put on instagram if you got it.
WhatsApp chat real quick.
Uh, well, I was watching Henry yesterday.
He was like the number one stream on the page for, like, that time being.
Oh, really? Yeah.
He's going to carry all in.
Why? Sports? Where the goat Man? Absolute unit.
All right, let me send this to you real quick.
Um, I'll send it in the main.
I didn't get a chance to watch Henry's dream yesterday, but it was It was really good.
I mean, maybe I would have found time.
It was like islander to devils, but not for the Rangers.
I mean, I was watching because I'm the supervisor for, like, people like because editor, like an editor, is supposed to watch every stream because there was an issue on one of my streams at one point for the Yankees.
So we were on it, and you were talking about the Rangers.
It was actually pretty interesting.
I mean, I don't like listening to the Rangers much, nor do I know much about them.
But that's pretty good.
I love when Henry, like, answers his own questions or like self is Yeah. Yeah.
Like like, uh, he's a legend, man.
Uh, you know, Victor, you want me to put it in the bio? Where do you got it? Um, I got it.
I'm piecing it right now.
Just peace didn't seem link right way my real quick on my regular.
What's what's up, people? We got some people on here.
Let me just promote this.
Let me just send this to my alright.
I just put on Tri State.
Uh, instagram Alright. Cool. Thank you.
Let me just promote this on my snap real quick.
I put it on my instagram right now.
Okay, Alright, give me 30 seconds.
I just promoted it, and I'm I'm listening, all right? Can you send that to me, sir? Bro, it was snowing here before.
Yeah, We're like forest by May.
Yeah, it was just for, like, 30 seconds.
So it was. It was literally just rain.
And then it stopped.
All right, you guys ready? Certainly.
Yeah. Let's do it, boys.
All right, all right.
We got I'd say we got, like, about eight people on here.
It says 11, but it's a what's going on.
Everyone welcome to trust a t****zoid episode number three.
And then there's Jacob and Victor right there.
Uh, thank you for joining today's episode.
Uh, it's pleasure to have you guys here.
Uh, this podcast is brought to you by all new york sports dot com.
Make sure you go check that out for articles from all three of us and from a lot of other people for pretty much every sport in the tri state area.
Well, actually, the New York area, not Connecticut or whatever state you include in charge state, but, um, yeah, we got a decent amount things to discuss today, But the first thing I want to say here is I know last week I went on a rant that I couldn't buy one of the new devil jerseys, but I got one.
That's all I have to say.
The Christmas tree jerseys as Jacob Alexis.
I finally got on.
How much? How much was it? I'd rather not say.
It is the North of 300 bucks.
There was no tax and shipping, so I was like, All right, we're set.
You know what? I'm happy.
The Islanders didn't bring back the fishermen jersey because now I can get it from China for cheaper.
It's not gonna go out of stock, ever.
That makes you see this year's You're right here is from China.
And so is this one right behind me.
This one's from China.
You gotta move it.
And then that one right behind me in the back is from China as well.
Yeah, they have fishermen jerseys that are like you can customize for $40.
China's the plug, dude, like I got, I have at least I think, like one official jersey and including the one that's coming whenever the retro they are.
The Rangers jerseys, 280 bucks.
But for the Devils, they must take a discount off to 80.
****, man, that's a lot.
I got mine from cool hockey dot com Like they they released their stock of them.
Feel like reach for retail.
How much was it? No, it was yeah, for retail.
And I had to pay, like, five bucks tax or something, which was 2 29.
So I was like, All right, well, I mean, not the worst.
Someone just sent a foam finger for 50 tickets.
Thank you so much for that.
All right, so let's discuss what we have today.
Victor, you want to start off here? What do we got? All right.
So, um, I'm sure this hurts you guys a lot to hear this, but as far as the I i h f goes both the Devils and Rangers, um, made statements earlier this week about Jack ewg's and laugh attending the world juniors.
Um, both teams, respectively, won't being won't send their players to represent their countries.
And I know, um, CJ and Jacob, you're probably both disappointed to not see, uh, represent, um, I think Canada and America like Hughes's American, I'm pretty sure.
So, um, that's one of the bigger things in hockey news recently, since the NHL isn't coming back till January 13th, So yeah, I mean, I feel on the I i h f like I would have loved to see Jack use represent us A.
As the New Jersey Devils player, considering you couldn't playing it last year because we were in the middle of the season.
It kind of sucks.
But it also considering the season starting on January 13th and the world When is the world juniors really starts around Christmas? If I'm not wrong, 50% heard it.
Yeah, because I feel like, say, Hughes gets like, Cove it or something.
And then he comes to training camp right before, like on January 4th, right after the tournament, when training camps going on a pose, a risk to the devil's team and, like, I don't want him get uninjured.
You know? I'm saying cause I mean, he's not the biggest guy.
I mean, he gained some weight in the off season, but I don't want to see him getting injured.
I mean, I I could see you not wanting to see laugh, get injured as well.
What do you think? Yeah, definitely. Hi.
I would love to see these guys go out there.
Go compete against really tops in your class.
You know, tournament that you could play an e do.
That would be a great thing for them.
But, you know, laugh got got danger.
Last last World juniors last year leg and I really don't think it's worth priority.
Should be to stay in New York and get and then that's Yeah, I agree.
Because we had Alexander Holtz, our pick from 2020.
He might be going, but he might not be going because of he was in contact with CO vid or something last week where he plays in Russia.
And that is not good.
Um, because you don't want him spreading co vid to other people in other countries for the I'm not sure where the tournament is this year, though.
Right? Removed it.
I thought them Sure, I don't know.
Holtz was actually playing in Sweden.
I messed that up Here, let me search it.
Yeah, it's supposed to be.
Actually, it's not even showing.
Well, let me let me wait for this to pull up.
Who want Canada won the last one, right? Yeah.
News is Kirby Dach is supposed to believe old Yeah, same draft class as Capo Kokko and Jack you.
So is he playing? Yeah, e believe me. Nice.
Be sure. So you represent.
Correct. Oh, nice. I like that.
Yeah, It's the world.
Juniors was being held in Czech Republic from December 26 to January 5th.
I mean, I wouldn't really risk getting co vid crossing the pond to go to another country, but that's just my personal opinion.
Victor, do you know if the others had anyone playing or I don't think so.
But I know there's players like currently playing in, like some of the European leagues, like some people are playing in the Czech Republic.
Others are in Sweden, so there are, like, leagues going on right now, and they're doing pretty good with covitz, so I'm pretty sure the Islanders have a couple of prospects doing that.
But I don't think any of the Islanders would make the cut for the World juniors teams.
Yeah, they don't really have any notable prospects right now.
I think Sarokin would have aged out by this point.
How? Well, what is it? You have to be 19.
Yeah. So he's definitely h out.
He's in his twenties.
Yeah, because I think the oldest you could be 20 if I'm not wrong.
I think it's like 18 through 20 something like that.
But I mean, I think Holds is playing in Sweden right now.
We have a few prospects playing.
They actually look pretty good.
So optimistic for the future in New Jersey here.
All right, let's move on.
We got out something else.
Here, let me We got NHL.
Might be returning on January 13th.
I'm pretty sure it's said and done, but we don't know.
I mean, Gary Bettman.
We don't know what the heck he's trying to do here.
Um, how do you guys feel about a 56 game season? I'm pretty sure starting and about a month.
Do you guys think about that? Jacob, You want to take this one? Yeah, I'll take it.
As for the range playoffs last year, legality.
Because of Covic, we don't know how that would have turned out for them, and same thing for Google, the other teams.
But I do think the teams they're gonna have toe really utilize the training camp and really get the wheels turning quickly and definitely gonna be a short of season.
And we saw it in baseball.
We saw it in football, we're not exactly sure if there's gonna be any road bombs or any kinks Thio to slow this season down so back.
Something does happen where there's a hot spot.
They got to shut it down for weeks.
You know, who knows the final game, you know, games they're gonna look like once everything said and done.
I mean, I agree cause there are gonna be some problems of some sort, like, you know, football.
Well, 40 Niners, San Francisco.
They plan to Santa Clara County in California.
And they issued a thing where you can't play sports even professionally there.
So the 40 Niners got kicked out their stadium and they're playing in Arizona.
The Sharks San Jose Sharks happen to be playing in the same county, and that would probably affect them as well.
So the Sharks would probably have to find somewhere to go.
And, you know, California kind of strict with the covert rules.
So you might not see, like, for example, you might see the San Jose Sharks playing somewhere else.
You might see the kings playing somewhere else.
It's it's gonna be very, very interesting.
There might be divisional changes there might be all sorts of things.
Victor, what do you have to say about this? Like, what do you think about the situation here we're in? I mean, there's definitely a lot of risk.
I think that men will do a better job than how baseball was going on this past year.
Like at the beginning.
There are a lot of covert cases, like on opening night.
I'm pretty sure player came down with it, and he was, like, immediately at the leave.
So, um, I think that man is going to try, like, do the safest thing.
And they actually have been talking about division realignments.
Um, I'm pretty sure that the Bruins and the sabers would join the Metropolitan Division, and, um, the Penguins and Blue Jackets would go to the Central.
So, um, that's something interesting.
I think it doesn't change too much as faras that New York teams like chances at the playoffs.
I still see the Islanders making it Devils not doing great.
And, um, the Rangers being like on the bubble, maybe with the Bruins or maybe with the fires or Islanders.
So I think we should start looking at that a little bit Yeah, that's Ah, that's well put, Victor.
Um, you know, I think we should How? The rankings.
Where do you guys see the Devils, The Rangers, the owners And just speak on your team.
I think we should talk about each of our own teams just to give, you know, a good in depth Look at this, CJ.
Where do you see the devil's landing? At the end of the well, I mean, this honestly makes the division a little tougher And my opinion, because let me thio.
The Bruins are pretty **** good hockey team.
Um, you put them up there with Washington, The Islanders fires.
That's a really, really insane top three in your division right there.
And I feel like if you play a lot of, like inter divisional games because it's like in, like your region, it would kind of be a little tough to beat some of these opponents.
I mean, yeah, we beat the Bruins last year once out of like, three times, it was tough to face them.
Um, teams like the Islanders tough to play these air, all tough teams that we all have to face, and I honestly and this eye.
I predict the Penguins originally coming in, last in the Metro.
But the Penguins aren't in this division, Most likely so.
Unfortunately, my team would finish in last for the third straight year.
Um, but I would see I would think the Devils would improve a lot.
Um, young guys like he share Hughes.
They're all gonna come together, and they're all gonna play a lot better.
I could see the Devils being under Lindy Ruff, our new head coach, playing a faster, more aggressive style of play.
Unlike with John Heinz, which set us back in the beginning of last year, I could see us being, um, or of a competitive team, but really not coming in close toe playoff contention.
I mean, I could see us at least like hitting 500.
What? I don't know.
You don't know? It's 2020.
Anything could happen, but the key and this is Tau win as many games out the gate as you can.
Because 56 games isn't too much like you see, you saw in baseball.
The Yankees lost a bunch of games at a time, set them all the way back.
Anything could happen in a short year.
Um, what do you guys think about your respective teams here? I think, Yeah.
So as far as the Islanders go, I still like I thought the Blue Jackets were better and the Penguins were worse.
And I still think that's the same when you take the Bruins and savers.
So I don't think this change effects my team so much like, as far as like, the Bruins go there.
A really, really good team.
They made the Cup finals in 2019.
Um, they've regressed since then.
They lost their top two defenseman, like McEvoy's getting better, but at the same time losing our guy likes Indiana.
Ciara, who has been a leader on that team for God knows how long.
Um, that that's gonna hurt them.
And Tory crew was ah, very good, like offensive defenseman for them.
He was that number one power play guy, um, on the blue line for the Bruins.
So they're not gonna be as good, um as they were like last year.
But I still think they can take a like a top three spot with the Canes and flyers.
So I have the Islanders at the wild card team.
Um, finishing fourth.
Jacob, What do you think about the rangers here? Um, you know, I think I think C j you put it very well.
You gotta win as many games as you can out of the gate.
And I feel like for the Rangers things they're starting to come together.
Um, you know, exactly sure where the lines are gonna look like They definitely are gonna have to figure that out with the addition of Alexi LaFraniere.
Possibly Miller on deep.
But I could definitely see them looking at a wild card spot.
I'm really I'm really confident on where they stand.
It's just gonna be a matter of putting everything together.
We saw on the beginning of last season.
It took them a while.
I mean, they weren't even supposed to make the playoffs, and somehow they did.
But if they have a star like that, well for them.
But if we see what they saw, what we saw out of the last season, which I'm Maxie, I could see them looking at a wild card spot.
I mean, I honestly feel that the devils and Rangers are gonna be competitive teams.
I mean, there, there, young teams.
But the Rangers have MAWR star players than the devil's.
I mean, you guys got Panera AnAnd's advantage that those were two of the better players in the league.
We really don't have that superstar.
And as I said in the pest, the devil should look at my Kaufman for situations like this, Uh, in a short season, you need to win as many games as you can.
And if you want to be really competitive and make the playoffs, you need at least like you need some star players on your team, along with the younger guys, so they could develop and develop more confidence in themselves.
But I could see us both being competitive.
I honestly do not see the Rangers or Devils making the playoffs.
Uh, that is not a biased opinion.
You know, You guys know how much I just like the Rangers here, but, um, they're young teams.
They just need to develop, develop more chemistry.
I mean, the devils haven't played together, and God knows how long.
The last time we played together was like March 10th.
I'm pretty sure that was forever ago, while and they just Yeah, they just need to develop chemistry and I think will be fun.
There's, though I could see him making a wild card spot.
They just can't collapse like they did near the end of last year.
But also, they had that strong start at the beginning.
They had, like, a 16 point streak.
Yeah, like 16 consecutive games with the point.
If they could do that again, I think they're a playoff lock.
Because then they don't have as much time to go downhill like they did when Pele got hurt.
Um, if one of their top two defenseman gets hurt, it's, Ah, whole different story because, like looking at the Islanders defense now, um, Green is still an unrestricted free agent boy.
Chuck retired and Lou Lamoriello traded.
So then you have three of the guys from last year on that defense.
Well, no, no, I think for if you include, may feel I and Dobson.
We'll still have five if you include Dobson.
But they kind of Inter changed a little bit over the course of the playoffs.
But that defense isn't as good as it was this past year, but the Islanders could also have a lot of momentum.
Still, they made the Eastern Conference finals.
That's something they should be proud of, considering most people have them going out against the Caps.
It really showed that, like the veteran teams can't keep up with the Metro anymore.
Like teams like the Canes fires Islanders.
I think they were gonna be top three or the Blue Jackets before the realignment so we could see a team like the Bruins falling out.
You never know because I know they are like dealing with some problems, age wise.
I mean, they're getting a little older, mean their captain and Ciara's no longer there.
But what the devil's I mean, I honestly see them looking like a totally different, well, not entirely different.
But there's gonna be a lot of changes, especially on the defensive side.
I mean, you no longer have have the bombings like Matt Tennison and Merkel Mueller.
You'll have ca dudes like Ryan Murray, who traded for Dmitry Kulikov.
I mean, he's like a solid got to put in.
You could replace Connor Carrick with Will Butcher.
Um, I'm fine with that.
You gotta let somebody I mean, we have a ton of defensive prospects coming up.
Uh, if the team sucks in the 56 games, I could see him coming up.
If the teams out in playoff contention like the last month of the year, just throw them out there, see how you dio, because that's what we did last year.
I mean, after the tailor whole trade, we brought some of those guys up after the trade.
We traded a lot at the deadline.
We got younger pieces and some of them came up and some of them look pretty good.
So you just got to see how they develop.
Um, I'm hoping for the best, especially with the Devils, because they're my team.
But anything can happen.
It's, well, it's not gonna be Tony Tony anymore, but some of that might carry over in the next year.
But, hey, man, I just I just hope the Devils could at least be somewhat competitive.
Um, after the fire, John Heinz, the team was actually ah, lot more fun to watch their playing more fast using speed, using skill.
They're winning games.
I mean, they were actually like a few points behind the Rangers for like a wild card spot at one point.
Then we just fell down before the season ended.
J you said Hoffman, right now is is a free agent, right? Is there any chance of devils? Oh, that's actually a good question.
I think there is a chance.
I mean, the devil still have a lot of cab room.
Ah, and putting a guy like Mike Hoffman as like your second line center, Let's say around the line with Jack use and com Palmeri.
I mean, you move huge toe like one of the wingers, and then you put Palmeri at the right move, usedto left wing.
But palmeri it right, and then you put Hoffman in center.
That would be a very, very good line that can easily produce goals.
Um, especially I feel like that would be especially good if you surround a guy like Jack Hughes with a superstar talent like Mike Hoffman and a solid, proven player like kind upon Mary.
If you surround the younger players here with bigger and better, like more experienced talent, kind of like mentor them in the right direction and kind of like help them develop confidence while playing alongside them I think that would work out great for the Devils.
If you sign them, I'd say 23 years.
Um, not Not too long, because you don't want him when he's out of his prime.
You don't wanna be over paying for a guy who's like a 36 year old bum playing out there.
But I definitely think the devil should at least give him a call.
Consider it because you haven't heard his name in quite a while.
And training camp might be starting and like, 20 days, so we don't know anything could happen here is gonna be quite interesting if you ask me, C j.
I have a question for you.
Yeah, what's up? So I'm sure you've heard, Like, around the league, Like the past couple of off seasons, Patrick Line has been shopped around by the Winnipeg Jets.
The the Devils have the talent to bring in a guy like that and the cap room.
Not like unlike a lot of the teams.
Currently, uh, would you like to see, um, line for the Devils this year? I would love to see Lana on the Devils, but there is one reason why I don't want to and because I believe the Devils were enquiring about Line A at one point, and Winnipeg asked us for Nico he share and a bunch of first round picks.
I would not do that because Niko Fischer is a big part of our future development and we need first round picks to continue develop young talent.
But if the price is right, I definitely bring in line a.
I mean, I would not give up too much.
I'd give up a couple of prospects and some pics, but I would not.
If some team walked up to me and asked if I say I was the G m of the devil's years.
Let's say I'm Tom Fitzgerald for a second.
If someone asked me to trade Hughes or he is here, I would say, you know, immediately because those dudes are gonna be superstars within 3 to 5 more years.
I wanted gamble it I want and risk it.
I mean, Lina is proven he's in his prime.
But I really wanted risk giving up generational talent like guys and Hughes and Nico.
But I'd love to see line down the devil's, though.
But if the price is right for him.
I mean, you never know with that price like Line A had, like, a down year for his standards.
So, like, he's not even in the top winger.
Like, not even a top to when you're in Winnipeg anymore.
Yeah, I know it, z interesting.
I mean, I hope that if his like, if the value for the trade value like, decreases a bit and we don't have to give up too much, I'm fine with it.
But I don't want it to be like another PK suban situation where we think we're trading for, like, a superstar.
And they come out and they're just slow and terrible, Like Van Ken bounced back with all the extra rest.
Maybe because he is on the older side, the rest probably helped him.
Yeah, but you never know.
It could also hurt from being rusty, so yeah, because I remember when we traded for him, I was like, Oh, my God, we got PK Suban.
I was losing my mind.
I was super excited.
And then he comes out and he's not doing anything.
He's not producing on the power play.
He's not producing offense, his defense.
He's just like chilling there like traffic cone.
And I'm like, Well, I mean, it's really not Ah, best situation.
But I mean, it is what it is, but we still have them for, like, another year or so.
And Jacob's light just went off.
But hey, man, I just hope that he could bounce back.
That would be quite nice, if you ask me.
But a question for you here.
Victor with the Islanders, What would you pay? My part is out because he is unrestricted.
He's a restricted free agent.
Excuse me? What would you consider paying him? How many years would you lock him up for? Um, I would definitely want to see a long term deal.
And I don't care as the right now.
The Islanders kept most of their pieces together.
They traded taste to keep bars.
L so I wouldn't mind throwing all the cap space I have left at bars.
L If I could get them on a 678 year deal? Maybe.
I think that's worth it.
There's not really anyone else we have the money for right now.
Like I can't see us having a room for, like bars Ellen Hoffman or like I know the Islanders were in talks about lining to, so I can't see them affording anyone A and bars l two.
So I don't see another quality player coming in.
So why not give him everything right now and then as cap space freeze up when, Like the lad contract.
And then you can go after someone.
You might as well, because you could build around guys like him and Pageau, for example.
But, Jacob, I got a question for you as well.
Do you think the Rangers should consider signing any pieces that are still available? Um, help improve.
Built around laughter nearing Kokko.
What do you think? You know, That's a great question, right? I took a look at the Regis Caps face.
We don't have a lot. We've got a couple mill left.
Um, this basically the cap space is gonna go towards signing players next at the end of next season.
Right now, they locked up everybody they need to lock up.
There's nobody else that they have to re sign.
Um, month of the Rangers is definitely the center position, but we have Ah, very good prospect.
Use the captain for Cornell.
He's done a great job over there.
Here's what we're gonna call him up.
I think that the team's gonna really built to become younger, faster and hopefully win championships.
Yeah, because I know we are.
Are both of our teams are kind of in similar situations here, But, I mean, you guys have players like Panera and Advantage ahead. We are.
Top players are Kyle Palmeri and acute of Gustav.
I mean, that's a big difference.
I mean, all very good players, but it's a big difference.
You could easily build around the young guys with players like, um ****eryn.
Players like disadvantage at boots individual those guys.
But similar situations have said, but moving on here, we got quite a few things left.
Uh, considering the season, maybe starting on January 13th, let's hope that's how Let's hope.
Let's hope that's when that when it starts.
But there might be some like new rule changes.
For example, in the O. H. L.
There is a new rule which I think is horrible, where you cannot body check or fight.
What do you guys think it is? I think it's foolish.
I think it's terrible.
What do you guys think? Um, I see both sides of the argument like, obviously, since you don't have a bubble situation you don't want like a player to, like, check right in tow another one on like them be, like right next to each other, like face to face like that.
So you definitely don't want to like breathing on each other like by following through with a hit and hits result in injuries anyway, so keeping guys healthy could be an exciting thing to watch.
You get smaller guys like, I think you said Holtz is on the smaller side.
So, um or maybe it with cubes.
Eso like they can play their style of game instead of like, adjusting to, like, account for enforcers.
But like at the same time, it takes away jobs from people like Ryan Reeves.
This is probably the biggest goon in all of the NHL.
Really gonna have a need for him now, like all he did was rack up penalty minutes and hits and fights.
So Matt Martin, Cal Clutterbuck and Cizikas on the Islanders.
That takes away their purpose on the fourth line.
So it's something that has its benefits but a lot of drawbacks to it.
Yeah, I understand, because I mean, uh, um, Martin is one of the most respected players. In my opinion.
I love Matt Martin.
You probably might think different because you don't like the island.
There's too much, not a big fan.
I mean, I love goon players like that.
I missed one of the devil's used to have all these, like young dudes who were just called up that used to just get into fights for no reason.
I love I love that physical type of play like the Devil is used to play when we were good in, like the early two thousands late nineties with Scott Stephens, the crash line, all those guys, it's fun to watch physical play.
And if you just see, like in today's NHL, No. One get hit.
One fight, it would honestly take a little more excitement out of the game.
But I could see where you're coming from with the like, I mean the distancing between players, but I think it's very weird.
I mean, we don't know how it's gonna work.
What do you think, Jacob? No, For me.
I'm personally all against it.
I don't think they should be doing this if Hughes and the smaller guys ****eryn if none of these guys, they don't want to get hurt, I think you should go play soccer.
You know what would make this important part? Ways to go about it.
Just hanzee And, you know, not in people is not the way to do it.
But I I know what you're talking about. Victor.
When you said that, it's gonna take jobs away from, you know, these these big most of Ryan Reaves, all these guys.
But, you know, as long as they follow certain portions testing a lot in the bubble And I know they're not gonna have this bum play in the in what we call in the league bridges, I You know, there's certain ways to go about it, and you can't take the game away from its its basic groups.
And hitting and physicality is definitely one of them.
Yeah, I agree with that as well, because, I mean, I could probably speak for all of us here when we say we do not like Tom Wilson.
I cannot I cannot stand the guy.
E cannot stand the guy, but you're right.
I mean, it does like take because Ryan Reeves he's like a goon and force or type guy.
Remember, when he's with the Penguins way? Saw him quite a bit.
The devil's really don't have too much of that anymore.
Blake Coleman used to get into it, but we traded him for a steel, in my opinion, but it's gonna be very weird if you see like no checking, no fighting because I love to see fights.
Um, it's especially in like rivalry games, and we were discussing before this the Battle of Alberta.
When you have, like, the goalie fights on and like, especially again games against our respective teams like Devils, Rangers, Rangers down there, there's a big rivalry games right there, and there's always a fight or big hits in every time we put we faced each other and then just that would kind of limit the amount of like fireworks in the amount of enthusiasm in the game.
Like Matt Martin used to go out and throw bodies, no matter who he's playing.
But like rivalry games, they add that extra physicality and the extra enthusiasm where people want to go out and be physical.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
It's definitely gonna affect the Battle of Alberta a lot.
Like, um, that Cassie in I can see him getting suspended.
Milan new teach.
I think they will go after each other, which, like, if they have a Battle of Alberta game, I'm gonna watch it because I don't think they're gonna follow it to a t o like, I honestly think that between, like, both teams have guns.
Could Shock is one of them.
I think he'll be smart enough because he is still a skilled player.
Thio stay out of hits and stuff.
But, like, I'm pretty sure the meat on Lou Cheech is with the flames now, right? Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
So he'll go after that.
Cassie and Cassie, um, we'll go after Luke.
Each on there's gonna be in Alberta battle, and you can't suspend the whole team.
So even the goalies will have a steak too.
I mean, well, yeah, you go, Jacob.
I got an interesting topic to bring up is just kind of following piggybacking onto what Victor was saying.
We saw it in baseball.
CJ, your big baseball guy.
Um, when benches clear doesn't happen often baseball on benches.
Clear. We saw the MLP.
I forgot it having a couple of times I forgot what was.
But they suspended some well, because want these matches to come together, you know, all once on the field.
I don't really see that happening with hockey, so long as everybody's allowed hitting everything.
But maybe there's an extra enforcement on making sure come together at the end of a game or something like that.
Could the NHL be punishing? These players were having a big school that doing something along that line? Yeah.
I mean, I could honestly see that, because I'm a big Yankee fan. Victor.
You probably remember when the benches cleared against the Rays that game, and then Chapman got suspended and the manager's got suspended.
Uh, that was a fun game to watch.
I hate the Tampa Bay Rays, but there was also the other fight with the A's and the Astros.
The the Astros are like the most hated team in baseball at the moment, and I respect the A's for stepping up there, and then man Fred had to suspend him because he violated the covert rules.
I mean, it's it's bound to happen in the N h.
I mean, you really don't see bench clearing fights too much in the NHL, but I also, like, have a weird thing.
I've read this article the other day about like high school wrestling in Ohio.
You can't you can't shake hands after the match, but you could wrestle the person for four quarters.
That's what I quite that's what, quite frankly, I do not understand what the point of that is.
But getting back on track to hockey here.
You don't really see bench clearing fights.
I mean, but one time you might have seen that in recent years.
Maybe the Battle of Alberta once and Victor, you probably remember this one.
The Islanders Penguins game.
You wanna You wanna recap that a little bit if you know anything, because I don't think Jacob knows too much about that. Get enlightened.
So there was this one game where I think it was at the Cali where the Islanders and Penguins were in a blowout game.
I think the Islanders were winning, like, 71 or Maybe it was the other way around.
I remember it as 71 I don't know what the actual score Waas, but I probably have the warm The Islanders were winning.
Actually, they were.
When they were blowing out, the Penguins was right.
I didn't just make that up, Okay? So the Penguins would do it.
Any other rival team would dio, When you're like getting blown out like that, you get momentum by, like hitting the other team and, like they were doing some stuff that, like bend the rules a little bit.
Some penalties weren't called somewhere, and it just got out of hand.
I think every player on the ice was in a fight like they were just like 51 on one.
Who's going on? I don't think they were the goalie fight, but they're technically was in some sort of guy on the Islanders, charged the Penguins goalie and he, like, tossed him to the ground.
Okay, Calendars, gold.
He was the only person not in the fight at that moment, though.
And I'm pretty sure there were, like, 12, 13 fights total in that one night.
I've seen recaps of it.
It's a lot of fun to watch.
I don't like the Penguins for doing it.
I would like to see Crosby like, get a black eye, not be able to like CIA.
And like, maybe the only reason I wouldn't want Crosby to get injured was that we could still beat the Rangers.
But, um, as far as everything else goes, I don't like the Penguins on Lee when they get the Rangers.
I just surprised I pretty much hate every team in the NHL except for the Devils.
And I also like any team that's playing the Rangers on any given day.
Alright, Just lose I with I'm gonna throw a little wild card question now, you guys alright, What we got? I'm blanking on the name right now, and I don't know why, but it's a defenseman for the what you call it San Jose Sharks wanted to fight Jake Paul.
I can't think of his name.
Take e Don't Sounds like it's not gonna happen.
It should happen.
Yes, I think it would be very good for the NHL.
It would bring publicity the hockey because you see a hockey guy going against some YouTuber, who happens to be a boxer at the same time.
That would be beneficial to the NHL because people were like, Oh, ****, look, it's an NHL player.
And then, like, say, after the boxing fight, you're watching him on and vendor cane on TV playing, and they're like, Oh, look, that's do that just full of Jake.
Paul, let me watch this.
I would love to see that.
I would love to see Jake pull, uh, see what ah hockey fighters like.
Uh, that would be quite interesting.
What do you guys think about this? I think it'd be awesome for the game of hockey and for doing purposes as well.
I mean, as faras keen fighting, um, Paul, Like, I like it somewhat because almost sharks fan also like, I like the Islander than sharks.
So for my, uh, to paper teams for a while, So I don't want to see Paul like, uh, beat up cane and, like, it heard the NHL because, like if Paul wins that fight, it's not going to really help publicity for the NHL.
I feel like eso.
It really depends on how the fight goes.
Like I would of course, like to see King beat up Paul, but I don't know if that's going to be the case.
I think we all would.
Yeah, that guy needs to be shut up and put in this place.
Yeah, Jake, what are you thinking about this? Do you think happened? I think it's pretty funny.
It's pretty hysterical.
But at the end of the day, the Vander Cain's gonna be going into the ring with I forgot what was longer Gene Jake all right, the owning of the room and Jake's been in the ring before.
I think Shake should step on the ice and put on some skates and try to maintain his balance while in the middle of a fight with a bunch of gear on you.
I feel like don't get enough credit.
Everybody thinks that so I could fight.
I could street fight.
I could put on some boxing gloves.
How do you stand out a couple millimeters of, uh, of steel and try fighting minutes? I agree with that because the Nate Robinson was not in a ring before he was a basketball player for the Knicks.
I feel like that was a bit of a unfair advantage for for Jake Poll.
But if you put a guy like Jake Paul on ice, it would kind of given advantage to Evander Kane, which would be a good thing.
That would be a good thing.
That would be a very good thing.
But I a few minutes ago, Victor said he has a second favorite team in the Sharks.
Do you have? Do you guys have a Jacob? Do you have a second favorite team as well? E don't know.
A few years ago, I started collecting hockey hats and I've got, like, a bunch of different hats and everything.
Want to get a look at all the others? Everything.
When I started collecting these, I got, I was shooting out on, and I really like the charity work.
Rangers do a great job.
That was a lot of these do a great job, but they specifically would go out kind of like the Make a Wish foundation.
And I do a lot of great stuff.
So ever since then, I really like Chicago.
I mean, I'm kind of like I'm kind of like that person that just routes for the Devils and strictly the Devils.
But let's say the devil's just moved one day and like or like, folded and this will never happen.
What the devil's ever left.
I'd probably become an island, their friend.
And I'm gonna tell you why.
Because a the island, this is a New York, Be my dad's an Islander fan and see they're better than the Rangers.
They're better than the Rangers and D I just can never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever root for the New York Rangers man E.
You've been showing a lot of this podcast.
I think you need a little bit.
I think you need to read the hat as well.
2012 hours. That 1994.
Stefan, that's all.
All right, all right, well, I'm wearing my conference champions hat today.
What a coincidence, Because what two years ago, 2000 and 12.
That's the when we beat you guys in the play.
Oh, all right, Well, it's my favorite moment as a devil's fan.
That's like my more victory throughout.
Well, not my only moment.
I mean, my other moment was, Let me share.
I want to share this story.
What was it? What was It was either three or four.
I think it was four of the semi finals that season against the Flyers, and the Devils were winning.
Then the Flyers were.
It was like a back and forth game and the devil's wanted in overtime.
And here I am, like, how old those are.
I'd say, like, six, or I'd say, like, seven.
Where am I going? Nuts.
I'm seven years old. I barely remember.
I do remember it a lot, but that was probably one of my favorite devil moments.
But nothing will ever be 2012.
Henrik gets over.
That was the all time best moment ever for because I never saw the Stanley Cups.
So this is just my generation we're talking about.
I mean, if I was alive in the late nineties, it would be nice to see some of the cups.
What do you guys? I mean, as I said, favorite moments with our teams.
You guys have any like, specific ones for Islanders and Rangers? I mean, the Islanders haven't been that impressive since the eighties.
I know that there's still a better franchise in the Rangers because, um the Rangers only have, um, like one Stanley Cup with, like, a decent amount of teams in the league.
The other three were like original six cups, so those don't really count.
So I'll give them, like two Stanley Cups.
Thank you. Really improving my point exactly.
Stanley Cup, the Stanley Cup? Well, it's not wrong, but, I mean, there were five other teams in the league.
I mean, that's like less than the whole Metro division, like every team made.
The boy it feels the same, and it kisses.
They actually does The edit levels to the Stanley Cup, like, um, like more Stanley Cup champions were added.
So I really like pretty light back then, but originally and originally was just like the bowl on the top.
And then as more teams started toe win, they had to put like more and more and more.
But yeah, eso back to what I was saying, even though like the Cup was heavier back in the eighties, I wasn't around for that, so I can't really pick that my favorite moment.
Of course, I loved watching this season.
It was one of the most enjoyable seasons for May.
Like the playoffs, not the actual season, because Thio to see how it go down.
And then the Islanders, like, go into, like, shambles and lose every game.
It was very hard to watch after they did so good at the beginning.
I'm a devil's fan. I understand your pain.
Anyway, I can't pick this season.
So I'm gonna pick this game.
I went to, um I don't know if Tyler Sagan with on the Stars or Bruins at this point, but I would very little.
I didn't know that much about hockey, but I knew I was in.
I'll understand. That's the only thing I knew.
So I see Tyler Sagan.
He hits one of the Islanders, and, like at the time, I didn't know this. But there were penalties.
So he hit like he got, like, a five minute major for boarding or something.
I don't know, but he got into like CJ.
You're a baseball fan, you know that.
Like the players, they always get in the arms face when, like you get injected.
So there was that in a hockey game with the Islanders.
Tyler Sagan was ****ed.
I don't know if he deserved to be, um, get a like a game misconduct.
But it was so funny to watch because I was not understand.
I'm like, Ah, Bruins hang got, like, kicked out.
So it was fun, But I wish I knew more about hockey at the time, but there haven't been too many exciting moments on the island, but still more than the rangers in the garden.
I'm currently getting violated in the comments right here.
Um, very creative guys, but yeah, Jacob has a point here.
What do we got? What your next arena is gonna be right next.
More stable body.
That's actually saving.
That's actually not sick.
Not sick at all.
Better you again? It's gonna be covered.
Victor is gonna be covered in manure just like the others franchise.
Your your stadium is above a train station stadium.
It's arena. My bed, my bed, My baseball.
Alright, my man, I I am still in baseball mode on football, but I actually have another story to share.
Um, this has to be one of my top five devil moments from my lifetime.
So the year is 2018.
My birthday is on December 14th.
So it's on my birthday the first time the Devils were playing Vegas.
I'm pre No, no, uh, for no, it wasn't the first time I played Vegas.
We're playing Vegas at home on my birthday.
Uh, Cory Schneider.
This is when he was declining, he sucked.
We were losing, like, 4 to 1 at the end of the first period.
So I'm ****ed. I shut off the game.
I'm like, God, I ain't, uh, getting myself upset on my birthday.
So I'm about to eat my cake and I blow out the candle, and my mom's like, Yo, you're wishing for something.
I'm like, yeah, I want the doubles to come back.
I said it as a joke, and my whole family laughed at it, and I turned back on the game right after that.
And then they go and scored three unanswered.
And then they went in overtime.
I don't know how the hell that was possible, but it was probably one of the best birthdays I ever had.
And probably one of the best moments I've experienced with Jacob were missing.
What's your rangers favorite moment here? E don't know.
I've had a lot of good ones.
Something you guys probably don't know a lot about.
I've had a but it was probably backing.
I think you really remember.
I was pretty young, but one of my I was playing with dry ice Hockey way are like an invitation Thio Escape on Madison Square.
You're on ice in between in the intermission, in between the first round.
I also got to go there. I skated.
I didn't get a goal.
Sounds pretty mad about that.
It was a pretty needing.
Rangers might have been the wind, so it was pretty.
That's pretty sick.
I mean, like, I've I've played basketball on the court where Barclays Center like after a few Brooklyn Nets games.
That's fun, but there's nobody in the stands.
I mean, that must be sick, like standing on ice and you see, like mad people like and that must be sick.
But the first thing I did when I went out there, my dad's like, just make sure 3 60 it was just It was all That's awesome, dude, like I've been.
I've been to the Garden quite a few times, Uh, for Devils Rangers games, especially cause my uncle's a range of fame used to go all the time.
Uh, when the Devils lost, it sucked.
But when the Devils one, it was awesome.
I mean, I was the last time I went to one of those I think I was in, like 54th, fifth grade.
That was a long time ago, but those were always fun.
I mean, rivalry games are always the best to experience.
I mean, like, I treat the Ranger Devil Games like playoff games.
That's just me, though, because I never experienced playoff games because I'm a devil's fan.
So I treat the rivalry games like, because it's either I go to school the next day and I get absolutely free blamed by the whole entire school.
We're talking so much crap about the devil's by the wind, and then they go and lose.
Or it's the best among the Devils.
When and I get to rub it in everyone's face because, um, obnoxious Devils fan at times kick a ****.
You know what? I'm going to get season tickets.
Um, toe msg for rangers games.
Yeah, I don't care.
I want to know why CJ with people in the suits.
Every time I went toe msg, the rangers have came out winless.
They've never won.
When I was there, they will be the new territory, Red Wings.
And you have me to thank for that.
Oh, the Red Wings suck at home, bro.
But I Yeah, let me hear Jacobs come back to this.
Actually, I think you guys now pretty badly so far, it's And to I No, I think it's an even match here.
Like, I think it's a tie.
Yeah, I would say so, too.
If not, I'm winning it right now.
Yeah, I mean, Victor's kind of sa***e you.
I mean, he's coming out of random moments with this stuff.
Methods are the what he called Belmont your Belmont Arena is gonna be down Woman from a bunch of hor***** who every all the winds gonna be blown around on the the the arena.
How's that gonna feel? You know what? It's gonna be a newer stadium than MSG, which obviously has a curse when I'm there, So yeah, I think we should I think we should go to a bunch of Ranger games now and we could watch the Rangers lose and style.
The only good thing about MSG is there was like you guys know this, Um, show friends.
Yeah, it's not my favorite, so Well, anyway, the only good thing that happened there was they had a scene.
They're on board.
Um, the puck got shot over the glass and one of like, the main characters got hit by the puck and that guy with the Rangers fans, so that's pretty fitting.
So I Yeah, like right on the notes.
But me and Victor, our allies, because where the Devils and Islanders it's not really a rivalry.
It's kind of just Yeah, I mean, it's an agreement.
Hate on the Rangers.
It's a pack to hate on the Rangers and occasionally, the Flyers.
If you don't like the Flyers, I mean, the Flyers are always the devil's viable because New Jersey is split into three parts.
We got the Devil fans, but then we've had the Flyer and Ranger fans who were there before the Devils even moved to Jersey.
So there's always gonna be more Rangers and Flyers fans populated through the state, especially like nearly like Pennsylvania.
That's where you got it all the Flyer fans and when you go to double fire double Ranger games and there's like half the crowd is.
It's like a mixed crowd because a the garden is too expensive, and b There's just a ton of Flyers fans that live in the area.
It's always, uh, that's it.
Yeah, because I Yeah, because my uncle used to have, like, season tickets, and he stopped paying for because they were overpriced.
And I mean the gardens. Very nice.
Don't get me wrong.
It's a nice little arena, but little CJ's.
It's the biggest city in E.
I mean, it is the best city in America.
I mean, I think we could all agree on that.
We're all from New York, but the two teams I do not like play at the Garden.
Therefore, I'm not the biggest fan and I'm not.
I don't like the Knicks.
I I haven't for quite some time now, and obviously the Rangers are arch rivals with the Devils, so I do not like them.
You'll never see me rooting for the Rangers, ever, but there's one team, me and Jake.
I'll probably agree on this.
There's one team we probably both don't like, and that's the Los Angeles Kings, not a big fan.
I never liked the King's From when I was little, I went to a Devil's Kings game and at the Rock and, like 2010 and the Devils were winning with a minute and a half left.
And then Wayne Simmonds scored a goal for the Kings to tie.
And then the King scored the game winner with, like, 10 seconds left.
And here I am, like I'm like, five years old.
I'm like, What the hell just happened? And now it means is on your team doing absolutely nothing.
I was so sad, man.
I was Oh, man, that sucks.
But then the cup final of that year.
Oh, man, that was just heartbreaking stuff.
And I probably speak for you when I say that as well. In 2014.
Very sad stuff, actually.
I got his jersey on right now.
I got a Kyle Palmeri.
You probably can't.
Jersey Guy's got an Islanders hoody on. Oh, nice.
And I got, of course, the conference champions hat from 2012.
Um, com made Children's champions Children.
No, because now you're just mad that we beat you guys.
That year there. Chumps.
I don't even care if we lost the Stanley Cup player.
That was literally the Stanley Cup victory for the Devils fan base to just beat the Rangers and the playoffs.
I mean, we haven't had success since then.
I mean, if you wanna call 2018 a playoff run, Well, it was a fluke.
I'm sorry to break her other Devils fans when I say that Taylor whole carry does.
There was no way we were weren't making the playoffs if Taylor Hall was not that good, but it is what it is.
I mean, we'll all see the playoffs again one day.
Um, I imagine, like all three of our teams, and at one time that would be awesome.
Yeah, it would be the Islanders and Rangers.
The Islanders beat the Rangers and then Islanders and Devils conference Finals Island Family Cup.
And they think the Kings be the Islanders that complete the tree up.
Oh, but although I want to bring up a topic quickly out of locals that are good in bed, I just want to say there is no good argument for the Rangers logo.
They can't even put on their main jersey.
All right, well, that is a fair point, Victor, if if you want to talk about logos and you should take a lead jersey that you have to buy from China, the exact same retro jersey.
Yeah, but at least that was on a jersey.
Your Rangers logo.
Don't even get on your mane.
How do you let me know about that? Let me Let me Let me be the moderator here.
I feel like I feel like Chris Wallace over here.
I'm moderating a debate.
I'm gonna let me.
My real name actually is Chris, in case you guys didn't know that, Yes, it is.
But I am going to say that the fish stick logo is one of the best logos in NHL history.
Yeah, and they didn't bring back.
They didn't bring it back because I understand at the time didn't like it.
It was all a bunch of boomers who didn't like it at the time.
No, rather have it than the Rangers logo.
They should have brought it back this year.
They didn't even bring it back.
They should have.
But you know what? At least we have a like a primary logo deadline.
Was that like, or the What's your Oh, no.
You were You were talking. I didn't want to interrupt you.
All right? The deadline was at, like, 12 o'clock to submit the, uh, the Islanders jersey on the intern.
The intern that was working on him.
He's probably color blind, and he's just clicking on random buttons.
And it turns out the jerseys didn't even change way.
Too many things like we already got to the Eastern Conference finals this year.
So we didn't want any, like, dumb **** medicine taking medicine.
That was all right.
So it's been a great Yeah, on that note, the devil's logo is awesome.
That's all I got to say.
Yeah, before that gets out of hand about logos.
Um, e thank you to everyone who joined.
Uh, it was a ton of fun.
Thank you For, uh, joining yet again.
