pretty loud, but down on my **** computer, Click on the volume button. It doesn't do anything.
We got the you got the Mac book Pro you got.
You got the Kindle.
No, I got I got a nice laptop.
I just need to get a desktop here soon.
I'm gonna get my office all set up here, so I can early Just Yeah.
Just like last night.
I had the computer, but if I had the TV in here on the wall here at my desk, you know, my big desktop I could watch the bills play and **** around with the podcast.
That's the plan.
Anyway, he's going forward, but yeah, that's pretty good.
What's up? I've been surprisingly good.
Just a door, big man.
E have e like to see them.
You? Well, for some reason, I guess some of those fans I'm way went 90 91 92 93 94 4 ****ing boy.
I love losing Super Bowls way.
Amount of times you made it there.
And then when? So I guess you're talking unbelievable.
Scott, Norway laces out kick.
Missed the field goal to win.
You know, that's what ****ing Jim Carrey made the movie about right? Was Was that against the Giants? I think so.
I don't I don't remember, but I think so.
Uh, see, boys, I don't think way, I think.
Do you have anybody on here yet? Explains For what? So SportsCastr is joined? Yeah. Yeah.
So I really don't have many notes or anything.
I did some reading, uh, videos.
I don't have anything to say, either.
I've only read his Wikipedia and lost a few videos.
Um, you know, obviously, I I've been watching plenty of Colorado last year, so I've got a lot of questions about I watched the pressure of, you know, after they lost and, you know, the press was asking him questions.
He's like, I really have.
No, I've got no desire to answer these questions, people.
He's like our guys, you know, they played their heart out.
We we lost Dallas was the better team.
Um, so I'm not gonna answer those questions.
I'm really proud of the guys and stuff, but, you know, you know **** well being in that locker room.
I have lost some games and and it ****ing hurts right.
So I want to know how they're taking that ****ing you know, that anger and that, you know, that ****ed off feeling.
And what did they do? What are they doing for this year? What is changing, right? Yeah.
I mean, I don't know if they need to change anything being the I mean, I think they're one of the best word.
Pat, Go hop off.
And then So I feel be back.
I agree with you, man.
There's there's not much to change.
But, you know, they lost, right? So they're gonna have to do some soul searching and figure out how to get into the final round, right? Yeah.
Maybe we should get into their draft.
Um, it looks like they've got this kid, Alex.
Looks quest to become a top six center for the Avalanche.
That means he's not gonna be playing up top Syrian.
Not even ****ing playing for the boys.
Force crossed four prospects for Colorado evidence.
You have a chance to shoot up and represent the United States or Canada this year.
So I guess this is maybe the drew this kid's gonna be playing, uh, Colorado Eagles.
Well, just the juniors, uh, the J C s.
You know, world junior championships.
Uh, you make part of part of this organization.
So did you see the about its mark? I don't mean to cut you off.
Did you see the Bauer skates? They have with the flags on the back of the skates? They're ****ing sick, man.
E did see the goalie pads E.
Yeah. The star in the middle.
Yeah, like Air Force s.
The fire corner story.
Did you guys tell everyone who's coming on our podcast tomorrow and tonight? We're just kind of organizing we're having, uh, Jared Bednar, the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche, is on tomorrow.
So we're just kind of organizing, uh, brainstorming for the podcast.
Tomorrow way we get him on video, all this thing, all this will be live on our YouTube channel and everything on Saturday, depending if our I t guys up and moving e class in that I don't know.
Um, but yeah, he He was Jared Bednar, the head coach of Colorado.
He was, um, he's in the East Coast Hockey League e C H L Hall of Fame.
He spent most of his career in the East Coast Hockey League.
Right down here in South Carolina, actually, South Carolina Sting race.
Um, he lives there when it's not the regular season.
Obviously, he's in Colorado during season, but he's jumped around a little bit.
I forget where he goes.
He's a big golfer.
I think he's from Saskatchewan.
It does a big golf tournament for the Broncos.
Uh, we all know who they are.
Um, obviously, he didn't put that on this year.
He's a big hunter, big fisherman.
So he could probably we'll ask him a bunch of questions.
You guys can, you know, the people that are listening to us right now.
Um, you know, type in some questions that you would like to ask the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow, and, um, we'll get going.
The one question I have is about Colin Wilson.
Hay was a player for Colorado.
He actually just announced his retirement in October.
Supposedly, he's got a obsessive compulsive disorder, which made him drink a lot and use alcohol.
Um, so because of that he had Thio retired.
I don't I don't know if that's why you retired.
He also broke his leg or something like that.
I gotta look more into it.
Upset the compulsive doesn't make you drink.
Well, probably not you, but it does to him And, uh, maybe the concussions.
Right? So I don't really want him to elaborate on that.
I'm just gonna ask, you know, how is that going to affect the team? Um, going forward, E You guys would have a lot of questions, too.
I mean, way talked about Colorado all year and how how I pegged, Um, I think Mark pegged him to win the Stanley Cup.
So I'm really excited.
They're definitely the best team in the West in the central.
Um, this guy, this guy's been the head coach for four years and three years.
They've been to the playoffs.
The g M's Joe Sakic.
We all know Joe Sakic, um, so great organization out there and they're gonna be doing one.
So once they could pencil in a good goalie and get the tenders situation figured out.
It could be e think they're probably one of the best hockey teams on the planet at this point, E.
I mean, if you're gonna talk about good hockey teams, the United States has the best, right? NHL has the best.
So, uh, be a He's coaching one of the best teams out there today, period on some of the best talent on his team that he's coaching, man, that is.
I mean, that's a ****ing honor in itself, let alone coaching and boom it, have some guys they don't think about, like cadre coming over from the least.
You know, there was a big pickup.
Obviously, my car coming in is an awesome rookie.
Um, you know, just so good, Brandon last year, E I mean, that kid is ****ing nasty Landeskog.
The roster just goes on and on for them.
Yeah, McKinnon has just stepped up to be a, you know, a zoo.
Good as kind of like David.
In my opinion, he's lightning quick.
I don't know if he's as talented with his hands, um, as MK David, but he's fastest ship.
He creates a lot.
He draws a lot of attention.
E think he's got a really good squad, man.
E things guys never played in the NHL.
Right? So Yeah, the closures have or have played.
You know, I think he was a man.
Did you ever see the mully? When he played, Yahtzee played.
He played for in Rochester and he played for the Detroit Farm League.
And I think it was like trying to make police or somebody else.
Yeah, he played for the stingrays in the East Coast.
That's where he spent most of his, uh, professional career is the East Coast, um, down here in South Carolina Sting rays.
But yeah, he he was a bruiser on the teams.
Like he he had the mullet, the eighties Canadian mullet.
And, you know, he would drop the gloves business up front, party in the back.
That's right, boys.
It's how it goes.
Yes, I e asked him, like you know, What's it like? Would you ever like, step back and say, Hey, I'm coaching one of the best teams in the ****ing world right now in the best city, right? One of the best time, right? Their fans there are unbelievable in Denver.
Okay, Michael, you're not supposed to eat that.
True. You just put it.
But you know I played when I played in Colorado was a ****ing best place to play.
And, you know, we fly out there, be ****ing sold out.
37,000 people for a lacrosse game, right? The city just supports whatever ****ing support goes there.
You know, like there was a couple other cities that sold out like Toronto.
Um, but, I mean, they their fans, you know, I wouldn't peg Colorado was the big lack city either right now, and they just go out and support the professional sports teams.
I mean, in Colorado, you have skiing.
You know, there's not a hell of a lot of entertainment in Denver, Really.
I mean, so they support their sports teams, especially in the winter time. You got skiing.
It's coldest ****ing snowing all the time, you know.
So that was the cross hockey.
The same owner owns all all the teams, and they kill it out there.
They're all sold out.
Well, yeah, I would just say, you know, one of the better cities to live in would be, you know, personally would be Colorado being the head coach of the NHL team there.
I mean, that's almost like Freaking Quinter in New York City, man.
I mean, you are top dog, right? Yeah, I would say he's the head of the baseball team and probably the Nuggets.
Uh, not Joe Montana, though.
Montana's a man.
All that John Elway.
Yeah, that's all right.
So, Joe Sakic, I don't know if way asked anything about that.
You know, like this relationship with Joe how much communication they have? Yeah.
What's what is while still doing stuff? I don't think so. Yeah.
You know, he's in.
Uh, he's like a junior coach up in ****ing come back.
You've been adduced back.
I tried to get him to come on the show, and so he's not there, like right, me in French and ****.
E is not doing any of that **** right now.
I'm, like, Wait, tomorrow s so eventually I got it across like, Hey, man, we've had another Hall of Famers on the show.
We're not, you know, he's not the first right.
So feel like he's a big deal here.
E no, he's not doing any of that stuff right now, but that's where he is.
If you look it up.
It's just like a GM, that coach of a a junior team up in Quebec.
Just looking at the stats here for Colorado.
I mean, Nate McKinnon's was leading the team in 93.
The second closest with Carol.
My car, a defenseman.
Fish it so 43 points he had above.
And they're young roster to man.
They're all I think, like there's a 28 year old categories 28 Calver, you know, the left wing there.
He's 29 so bellamy years older.
We all know that.
But, I mean, they're pretty young roster.
So if you could get a solid D I mean solid goalie situation going on there like Mark said, um, there, you know, one of the best teams in hockey and definitely the West Coast, the Rangers.
They're gonna be creeping up on people here, too.
Um, you know, teams that are up and coming.
That's what I'm saying, you know? But, I mean, we had Colorado to win the whole thing.
Um, if the season, then go to some bubble bull****.
Um, so again, we got the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche coming on tomorrow on her podcast.
Check us out at blue and Hockey club dot com.
We also got Pat Maroon coming on the following week.
You know, Pat Maroon, obviously, if you don't know who he is, you go to a different channel and watch something else.
Um, way we got Pat Maroon, and then we got Mark Crawford lined up eso He's the former coach, and he actually played a little bit in the NHL, too.
So we had some good guests coming up, but yeah, we're all excited to have Jerry betting on tomorrow.
Um, we just I guess I didn't really pumping the tires on Colorado for about a year now.
Wear that on paper.
They've got all the right stuff.
They just they didn't, you know, they fell to a apparently a better dollar team last year on that zit is what we're gonna do it, like, always situation.
I don't know the answer, that question, but I mean the whole long twisting that they was talking him going there at the end of the season. Yeah.
What trends? Wa grubauer group hours there.
So they've got a decent tandem.
I think they're starting goalie was out right that he got hurt.
He pulled a ligament or something.
But, you know, they were playing with their backup goalie, and then they had the third string backing up the backup.
So, you know some of its luck, right? You wanted moving in with your starting goalie and they didn't have that.
Okay, Yeah, but you know, I think that's the That's what they need to figure out.
I think he'll probably not answer that question because both police are still on the roster right toe.
I don't know if he's gonna say, Yeah, we're looking to get rid of this guy and then he stays.
He's like a It's tough question as the coach.
Yeah, yeah, he's just going to say positive things going forward about the two.
He's gonna feel confident with the two.
But, um, you know all the speculation and all the reporters and every ****ysts are saying that they need a new goalie, but we can ask him about that.
I think a good question to ask your better tomorrow when we talked to him is you know well how, I mean, how close was the king gonna suit up in an avalanche jersey.
I mean, was was he pretty close to suiting up? That's a great question to ask him another question.
I think it will be good to ask him is you know, you have such that, you know, the NHL now has the defense that they're looking for a defenseman that can step up enjoying the play and rush the park.
He's got Kale my car.
Who can do that? Um, you know you.
Does he get the green light or do you kind of Is there any situation that you don't give Kim a car? The green light? I'm assuming he's gonna say no.
But, um, you know, you know, in some of those situations when it's, Ah, close game or your they're losing Have you ever told Cale Toe, you know, move the plot forward.
I think that you can't You can't stifle.
Yee's the second on the team in points.
So when kill the cover wants to rush the puck.
One of you ****ers has to stay back and cover his ass because he's he's going to give you a good opportunity to score listeners out there.
We're just, uh we're going over our interview with Jerry Bender, the Evelyn's head coach, tomorrow, shooting off ideas, getting prepared for our upcoming podcasts.
So feel free to listen to join in Texas in the box there if you want us to ask a certain question of the coach and hopefully we can bring it up in the store tomorrow.
I just got a text from him.
I asked him if he was still good for tomorrow.
He said, Absolutely, 9.
Send me the info and I'll get on with you boys.
So just confirmed Eastern Standard these two hours behind us.
So that's a 7 30 start for him.
Yeah, in Colorado.
Or is Yeah, Carolina E.
I did put Eastern standard time, so that was he has two kids.
And, like, 16 or 17 and 19 or something this nice.
Yeah, so I just think he's way better like that.
So I think we just do the normal flow that we dio.
Or do we do like intro? Um, introduce Jared, Um, you know, kind of just break the ice with him.
Ask him where he is, What he's been doing.
Like I said, he likes to fish and hunt so we can get into that.
He did wear a camel suit.
Did you guys see that? Don't you, uh, do that to a game? Yeah.
He had one of those camel jackets on the ward.
One of the games he's really big into.
How about hunting down here in the Carolinas? So, um e asking about, like, you know, to get the opportunities.
Is there any season that he can hunt out there? Because there's probable the mountains and **** out there.
There's probably some cool. Yeah.
That's right there.
It's actually hunting out there.
A lot of guys from New York, they We'll take a ****ing week off, go out to Colorado and on Beaver.
Yeah, my cousin.
Did they hike up the ****ing mountains and try Thio shoot elk or whatever the **** out there? That was bad. Countryman.
You could go for days and not see anybody.
I mean, I think this interview should be, um, just all about his, you know, coaching, obviously, how we got there and all that.
Like maybe his experience And what's it like to step back.
You know where he is today? Like all the ****ing coach of the ambulances.
You get that kind of feeling, ever that kind of thing also.
No, I'm just saying, like then get into, like, to see where they're gonna have a season.
You know, I was You know, you have any inside scoop for us on When that's gonna happen is they're gonna go through whatever you like.
I'm sure he's gonna be back.
I think, you know, mentioned a little bit about his scouting team.
You know, the drafting these players or, uh, you know, Joe Sackets putting together like I said, these young young players who you know, if you look at the Minnesota Wild who you know last year I mean, they're doing a huge, uh, wholesale change now, but last year, they one of the oldest teams in the league, and they didn't do Jack, where you have these young kids on, like the Colorado Avalanche, who we're just bringing, uh, just I mean name McKinnon Just bringing speed and power and popping pox.
And then that it's, uh you got to give credit to the G M and whoever is putting this team on paper.
I mean, it's really working out, you know, they don't have the big stars, like, I mean, name McKinnon is a star.
Um, but he's just recently in the NHL, and, uh, some of these other guys be more stars to rant in, and yeah, I ran ends up there started for sure.
But I'm just saying it's not the typical Sidney Crosby and Ovechkin and Malkin.
You get all the publicity, but 93 points man puts him in the elite.
I'm just saying a difference between the next person on the team and that kid's a ****ing defenseman, right? So that that team is hardly still the activate the defenseman thing.
You know? I like it.
You know, I wish it was more of that when I played, but, um, it just seems like how the ****ing have defenseman outscoring your forwards? Just put him on forward.
What the ****? Put somebody else from the defense.
Yeah, well, the big thing is in the NHL is you're not the top.
You're not going to lead your team in scoring.
If you're not any on any of the units.
Power play, especially If you're not on the power play, forget about it.
You're not gonna be if you never touch the ice on the power play unit in the NHL, Forget about it.
Because most of the goal are as a freshman is running the umbrella on our place.
Right? So, you know, that is already in the ****ing top echelon of the NHL.
Second year, first year of the season.
I mean, you look at like him.
And what's his name from Vancouver there, blanking on his name? Peterson E.
I mean, those two guys, like, was just studs, you know, like rookie studs man.
And we talked about before, You know, you had forwards that we're all time, you know, first round draft pick.
It's like his brother and **** smoke them in points.
I wonder if you know being a defenseman and takes the pressure off.
Right, Because you're not.
You're not expected to come up with that kind of point.
So when you do, it's like, ****ing great.
That's a good point.
It's been in Boston so far.
Yeah, this team kind of socks web. Yeah.
And then you get, you know, another defense when we had on our podcast was Adam Fox or the New York Rangers.
I mean, he's, uh, Dante Fabbro of Nashville Predators.
We had him on, and Rob's right, like they don't go to sleep at night, you know, stressed out because they don't have any points.
And there the, you know, the second sentiment on the Colorado Avalanche, where they're just a defenseman, you know what I mean? That helps.
It seems to be a Frenchman.
Is is shift time your goals against and then it's points, right? How can you contribute? So they're not.
They're definitely not staying up nights, you know, worried about having to ****ing scores on the goals.
They've got the best of both worlds far e.
There were more worried about plus minus and stuff, you know, but like, I think that that's huge, because the confidence thing in this game is everything, right? So these forwards to get down there getting slumps, it on the confidence, and they just it's a mind ****.
So I think that it's a good point that some of these, especially the rookie guys that don't have the experience, you know, playing they get a goal. Great.
If they don't well, they're still playing good D.
So the other thing that we might be able to ask him was like the transition from a what was the h l a h.
What was he before this a d c h l.
But he did get to the H l, but yeah.
How did you transition from being an E C h l, you know, All star to coaching the ****ing one of the arguably the best teams in the NHL right now? Yeah, it must have been.
You know, like you go from coaching guys that you're losing guys, they're getting called up.
You know, it's just there.
Get your coaching guys, that air borderline, you know, able to play in the NHL to coaching some of the best players in the league.
That's gotta be a different way of coaching.
Like you're not coaching them as much on, like, skills and positions.
I don't know, maybe, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, question for me is, you know, what is the culture that you're looking for these days? Everything's changed since we played, right? So what is it that you're cultivating? Why are you bringing me? How did you bring these guys in first of all.
And what is it that you're doing that is cultivating the success, You know, that they're having, Does he have? Does he have a role in who comes into the organization, or is it mainly Joe and his decisions? Do they discuss it? Uh, I'm sure they do a little bit, but ultimately, I'm sure comes down to a second. Wants.
You know what he wants Culture.
Well, Don Waddell said, it comes down to money, right? Roddy wanted.
You know, Roddy wants who he wants, but they only have the budget to bring in who they can.
Right? So it's the same dynamic for Jared Bednar and Joe Sakic.
Right? There's a push and pull between the hockey operations and coaching a team and wanting those studs and the reality of the salary caps and Onley having the money to play to pay, you know, a certain amount of players, right? Yeah.
Transition transition, question transition from legal league.
Um, were about like, uh, he just he was coaching the lake.
Eerie, uh, monster, uh, in the lake.
Eerie monsters of the American Hockey League.
Wanna call her cup? One of East Coast Cup, and, you know, I think him and, uh, the head coach of, uh, the old head coach of the Wild.
Um, the only two coaches there Bruce, Bruce, Bruce Boudreau are the only two, uh, when the East Coast h l, um, and then looking to win a Stanley Cup.
So that hasn't been done yet.
So if Bednar wins the Stanley Cup, he's won all three professional Hockey League's championships.
But yeah, he made his professional debut 93 94 season with the Huntington Blizzard of the East Coast Hockey League.
And then, um, went to ST John May police and then the Rochester Americans.
Grand Rapid grand rapid griffins.
So he's been all over coaching, but finally got his debut.
And Colorado and he's making some noise.
It will be It's gonna be a fun interview.
I mean, what was the last question I was thinking? It was? What the **** was a question? I was gonna bring up ****.
T o tell everybody again that it showed up? What's going on here? Oh, we're just kind of organizing our interview tomorrow for our podcast.
You do Blue Line Hockey Club podcast.
That Blue Line hockey club dot com.
Um, we're on all podcast platforms, but we have the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow night.
Jared Bednar eyes coming on and joining the podcast.
So we're just kind of organizing shooting the breeze.
We all live in different areas.
Florida, New York Park.
Um, North Carolina.
So this is how we organize our podcast.
So that's what we're doing tonight.
Just getting ready for head coach of the Avalanche tomorrow.
And we're excited to have him on the following week.
We have Pat Maroons joining the podcast.
Just want a cup with Tampa.
He won the Cup of ST Louis last year.
We all know the big rig Pat Maroon.
So we're excited to have him on too.
So we got to back to back big podcast.
So we're pretty excited about Yeah, our shows.
Air sponsored by door me head gears.
I don't know if anybody golfs, but they've got some serious would covers.
Custom leather, wood covers their ****ing They're really nice.

Um, so they know golf.
They know the head covers the quality of the head covers.
They're just, you know, they're they're they're worth. Uh huh.
Go check him out at door me workshop.
And they have NHL head covers all the NHL teams.
They actually had a Stanley Cup head cover, which is pretty cool.
Um, they have a bunch of accessories to They have the putter covers, they have towels, everything.
Eso Yeah, they're our sponsors, so check them out.
What do you think about asking about? Like the discounted veteran in the league that, like Joey Thoren and some of these guys at the end of the career going to teams that a super discount, you know, entry level type salary, getting a venture and trying to win a cup.
You know, you like those kind of moves.
I think it's a fair question.
I I personally, you know, I like it the way you know the way the game is going.
It's less contact.
There's less fighting, you know? You see less of the big hits even though you will see them, you know, here and there.
But that to me it extends the life of a Joe Thornton of Patrick Marleau.
Pat Room, Zach Bogosian, right? It extends their career, right? So the guys that would have been gone already, you know, now they have the opportunity to play a couple more years.
So you know, I personally I'm okay with it in certain What's the, uh hey, what's the process? Hem joining video via Go to meeting eyes that that link he's gotta click because he needs can come in the phone number.
He just clicks on the link from the laptop smartphone.
He doesn't even have to be on his ah, laptop.

He said he'd come on.

So we've had them all on, and, uh, we just have fun talking.
We all grew up playing hockey in upstate New York, so, uh, this is our passion.
We love watching hockey, and, uh, check us out.
We just don't have the budget.
Like spending chick lits.
Uh, well, we don't have a budget, but yeah, we don't have the budget yet.
Todo check this out.
Let's get on tomorrow at 8. 30 ish.
Uh, just so you guys know we're gonna be trying to do all these interviews on this platform going forward had some glitches with it.
We wanna make sure it's ready to go.
Yeah, just kind of transition over to SportsCastr and do this stuff live.
But the last couple of times we tried it.
We had dropped the you know the transmission, and we can't be doing that in the middle of an interview.
So we'll go with what we know for now.
All right, boys, Till next time we'll see you guys tomorrow later.
