for their radio.
We decided to go out.
So that was fun.
Yeah, no problem.
So what I was saying before, Yeah, yeah.
So what I was saying before Yeah, I was gonna I was gonna I'm gonna kind of recap like, a couple minutes ago.
But I'm Pretty much was saying is I feel like last year the basketball team relied a lot on three pointers.
Yeah, so, like whenever last year that we were, like, not making threes like we weren't scoring.
But I just feel like this year this team is a lot deeper and granted v m I b m.
I like we'll see against tougher competition.
It's another way, but And what are your thoughts on that? Yeah, I mean, they did their deeper this year. Two.
And a lot of those players actually are now more experience.
Come on, TV Stratford.
Now he Moline I mean, Carter Diarra He's been good, but he's also been kind of at times I mean looming This kid, this transfer Keitel UMA is awesome.
Um, you know, it kind of reminds me a little bit of Blackshear bit, but it's just, you know, that this seems Find Nike warnings.
A great coach, you know accountability from him.
Man is it's like he admits when he messes up.
I know Coach who does not do that, who runs the football team.
So it's just like night and day with, like, their coaching styles.
I know different sports, but it's just like the way they conduct themselves for the program.
I mean, my Maekyung just looking to be a fantastic I'm really excited to keep watching them this year when he was hired, or where you one of those guys were like, Oh, are you going? Sure.
Honestly, I know he almost be Kentucky in the tournament, which was pretty big, but which is the big thing? Yeah, I know, but yeah, I agree.
I mean, it's just it's just interesting to see that, like everyone, like, a lot of people were clowning Virginia Tech forgetting Michael Mike Young because he wasn't like the big, big, higher like and ironically, like one day at the end of 2015 was like the hot name in college football and look how that turned out and Mike Young, with more of a man choice and he's turned out really well, so I mean, I like what he's done there on, but I think I kind of went into about baseball and I brought up how there's a guy that called for Burr, who you wouldn't you wouldn't think would be nontendered.
They were nontendered.
So that was a shock.
To see something like not cut money, a lot of teams or not wanting to spend, that's for sure.
Yeah, and I think with the Orioles, um, they traded Jose.
I think I texted this.
I could trade Jose Iglesias to the Angels, and in a lot of them, I think a lot of them understand this is a rebuilding team, but they don't.
I think they their patients when it comes.
And I understand that moves in the present like the move that they make will help them in the future.
They will hurt him in the present, and they don't and they were like, oh, into their minds.
Oh, we traded Jose Iglesias like, Who are you playing shortstop? Who? Something shortstop s.
So that kind of like What are you doing? But I mean, I I get that move.
I mean, here's the thing like Are we have a we have the best farm system is baseball.
And when I looked at MLB dot com and our scouting report, the 26 29th best prospect in our in our system were described as guys who can throw, who has a four pitch mix who could throw all four for strikes and could be a back end starter.
And that's your 26 29th best prospect.
I mean your farm system.
If you could say that about your 20 like your back end of your top 30 that's a pretty good farm system.
That's pretty decent.
Yeah, yeah, and and and And And the other thing is like seeing like the the time it's actually got back the Graves.
Well, for the brave, it was their 23rd best prospect.
I don't understand that, Um, I don't understand that.
Like how you get the 23rd best profit and someone else for Tommy Malone.
That's pretty bad.
Like in five starts the time.
You know, I I don't understand that one at all, but like on the Orioles system, he came in and he was like the 29th best prospect.
And then once we made that trade the Jose Iglesias trade, he actually got bumped off the top 30.
So there's a guy we trade with one trade.
We actually trade for a guy who in their former organization was 23.
But now in our organization, his new organization, he's not even a top 30.
So I mean, e mean Terran Vavreck, Kevin Smith.
I mean, I think Kevin Smith might have been a top 10 prospect for the Mets, and he's like the 12th best guy in the Orioles system.
I mean, I think that the deep moves are really smart in the sense that they're Biltmore for the future.
I think fancy really need to understand it, that it's a process member of the village, he says.
It's a process, and and here's the thing.
That's really interesting thing.
What Michael Eyes is doing, I don't hear your you can provide your thoughts on this one.
I think that finding number ones and number twos are difficult in your rotation.
Like you gotta drop guys, you have to draft them or trade from.
So yeah, so what Michael is doing is he's trading for as many guys as he can, because right now he has John Means, Keegan aching and Dean Kramer, Bruce Zimmerman.
I think he's a longer leave guy, but those guys are already in the majors.
But he's trying to trade and develop draft as many 345 guys as you can.
So he knows find.
And by doing that, the guys who aren't in the bullpen theme guys who basically have a place on team, you could say, have a place on team.
You can then determine how maney redundant pictures you have.
Those guys then get flipped or number one number two type pitchers.
That way that you still have your 34 or five guys in a surplus.
You're so you're trading from a surplus.
But you still have that surplus.
E think that's a smart strategy that he's doing.
Yeah, no, and I agree with you it issue No, you're building for the future.
You're getting back a bunch of prospects for some of these guys somehow like Tommy Malone getting back.
And then these guys will be ready for you in the future and the whole day. Iglesias.
I mean, like like no one thought Jose Iglesias like the fact that the Orioles were able to find him in, like January, like on a two year deal.
That's pretty good. Yeah.
Oh, no. It's like one year in an option.
I like the fact we were able to flip him in, like a lot of people, like, Oh, we should have kept Jose Iglesias.
Like, you do realize that. Yeah, I know.
Jose Iglesias hit 3.
Do you really think that he's gonna hit 3 73 next year? No, no, I mean provides good defense, but, I mean, he's a veteran, and then you have anything that nontendered Hanser Alberto.
But Alberto kind of struggled this year.
I mean, he was great against lefties in 2019, But him Nunez, we're not to Nunez really there.
These guys like placeholder players that you put in positions and then when your prospects are ready to go, then you let them go on and put your prospects in, and then you go.
Okay, So these guys were good, then? We have these four or five guys who are redundant.
Um, we're gonna flip them, and then we're gonna go get more pieces like that.
And I think that alliance isn't happy with the top, uh, the best farm system.
I think he's really trying to get to a top five top three.
And he said, This is not fun like, it's not fun for me.
I wanna have a winning team way.
Understand? We're not gonna be winning next year.
Like he basically said it without saying it.
We're not winning that year.
No, we're not like it's a two or three year thing.
Yeah, you're not.
So for me, it's more so.
I mean, it's interesting seeing, like how fans react.
I mean, I don't think there's anything for the nationals.
Um, why don't after big bags one soda has been very instrumental in trying to get some of these guys to come here.
You're looking at J. T Realmuto.
Yeah, that's, um yeah, so I think that I think really took and potentially go to nationals because the Mets are apparently in talks with James McCann on a four year deal, who is actually pretty good.
He's actually good.
Um, so I mean, the Phillies said they're crying poor on Realmuto, so I mean, he could go to nationals.
I mean, that could be interesting.
It would be nice to give them another big bat.
They just need a big Like I said, they need another big back head on.
So no, they're not Rendon Valley.
Hell, I mean, they're missing.
We need to get a replacement for him just as bad.
I mean, they can put Carter to keep him on the field, but is he gonna replace his batting or any of those pull to the guys that they signed? No.
And they need another starter to because Anibal Sanchez is walking.
So that should be interesting to see if they brought.
And yet, I mean, there's plenty is I mean, there's Corey Kluber who's who? Who could be a solid buy, low sell high candidate.
I mean, they have their top three set.
You have the number, Archer.
I mean, what are your thoughts on Archer as 1/5 start? Chris Archer is 1/5 of the number five.
Maybe I could see that.
I mean, they have Joe Ross is probably the number five year they want crosses their number four, But you have the big three.
There you just gotta get someone else and maybe another bullpen arm.
And that's honestly, probably it.
There's not even needs.
That's a big one.
Just a bat and then a picture.
It's not really my only it.
Yeah, I think we'll and we'll just do one quick thing and then we'll end to show their But what were your thoughts on the John Wall? Russell Westbrook create that.
You ask you that? You know, I had the people of the team, John Wall play when I was probably one, by the way.
Like not Thio cut you out there actually met John Hard, but once so I mean, that's interesting.
He was actually really like it.
By the way, he's short.
Like he's a lot shorter in person.
I give John Harbaugh a lot of **** just for obvious reasons.
Just because I hate his brother to Yeah, who do you who do you prefer him or his brother? Because I would prefer John over Jim.
Yeah, that's tough, but probably him. Probably.
John, I I hate it.
I hate his brother so much, but they're both They're both just total ass is on the field.
One is just way worse than the other.
I mean, yeah, but yeah, going back to what John Wall it is on.
You know, I had the privilege of going to a lot of the wizard games as a kid, you know, watching him and I was really 12, 13 years old.
He had been there for, what, 10 years? We stayed there for a long time and gave the world I mean, he was.
He was the main reason a lot of people went to those games.
I mean, when they were t 60 games here, they I would go to a game where they would win just because of how big he Waas.
So he's one of the best athletes saying to come through D. C.
Um, it sucks that they never got in the championship.
But Russell Wilson, Russell Wilson, Good Lord Russell Westbrook coming the other way is big for them.
I mean, he's all he's a bona fide superstar.
I understand he probably would be able to place where John Wall did, um, off the court.
And the contracts don't really, Unfortunately, negative parts of contracts like they're not great contracts.
Um, but I mean, they're similar players.
I mean, Russell.
I think Westbrook's like two years older than John.
I want to say he's a couple years older than him.
I mean, I think that I think that it would be an interesting move.
I mean, it'll be interesting to see how well Brooke Hand works with Bradley Beal.
It's just Yeah, I heard a lot of fans.
I mean, you know, I took a little personal. I grew up.
I grew up watching the Wizards a bunch like check your Lakers because of Kobe and all that.
But, you know, I always did go to a bunch of Wizards teens.
I had a John wall jersey For what? I gotta figure out where that is.
I think it's buried in my Oh, yeah, I'm like John Walsh armoring right now.
I had it buried in my jersey somewhere.
I had a Gilbert Arenas jersey that I had to sell because he's just a total ass.
But yeah, it stinks, you know, But they just never did him right there on, um, you know, he goes to a team that's pretty good team in the Western Conference, but, you know, we have to go through Los Angeles.
Who? The Lakers just signed LeBron and 82 big contract deals.
But oh, and I think someone brought it up about LeBron's.
No, uh, to make him a free agent and one his kid can enter the draft.
I'm not kidding.
Like a like a growth spurt like his kids like 65 Now, is this kid like 18 yet? Or is this like, 16 or 17? Jesus, God.
Just like, you know, like once the show is gonna take a look at E.
I mean, hey, he just looks like he is definitely looks like like he's like the boss.
Bronze, it was that it's insane.
How, And you don't think seems I mean, I could see him extent going all the way to the Lakers, and then he plays one year, like wherever his son goes.
He's gonna play one year with that team and just they call the career just basically, Yeah, I mean, that would be interesting.
The last point of the Wizards, I am.
They did draft like it was the ninth overall pick.
I didn't really follow the NBA draft too much But apparently they did take, like, one of those guys that people thought could go to top three or top four.
So Well, I mean, look out for the Wizards.
I mean, this could be a sneaking Michigan State is really good, too, So yeah, Yeah, him as well.
So I mean, look out for his team as, like, a contender.
The East, I mean, and soon? Absolutely.
No, I think we covered it.
