Stop Answer now. I'm gonna be honest with you right now.
We talked about a backstage, but I got a new camera for for my set up right now.
And I'm very usedto looking down like I am right now with the computer screen to say hello to the people and not up at the camera.
So I'm gonna be honest here, people.
If you see me looking down, it's because I'm stupid, and I'm not used to it yet.
Well, you know what? We're used to you looking stupid.
So it's okay, you see, You want to know what you wanna know? What, though, that's just simply not true.
It's simply not true.
And I'm going to get into the argument of why it's not true.
But before I do that, Michael, you know how we always have to start the show.
We gotta pay the bills, baby, because you know what way got we got bills to pay? We got sponsors to make happy and no one.
Not only do we have sponsors to make happy Michael, but you know what else we have? What else do we have? We have merchandise.
T spring dot com slash stores slash on wrapped.
Make sure you head over there yet.
All of your, uh, usn needs.
For May. I got my mug in the mail today.
I gave it to my mom.
I gave it to my mom.
You know, I thought I would be a good on a nice little early, you know, Christmas present e look like, Oh, you know what? It looks something like that.
If you know, if you say so.
I appreciate it.
Uh, it looks beautiful, but why don't you Why don't you let me see the back there, Michael's or anything on the back that I'm not aware there is.
Oh, look at that.
A beautiful white and gold mug.
19 on the back, the year that a Rashed was founded by our great leader Perry and Christian like it was three year unwrapped, was unwrapped.
Also got one in the mail today.
It's a kid size shirt for my son.
And right now I'm holding it hostage and told him, Son, you're four years old.
If you do not sleep all the way through the night tonight you're not getting the shirt.
So it's been a rough week.
He's been waking up with, uh, with some nut mares, and it's been a struggle for eso.
I'm gonna eso you're gonna make him sleep through his nightmares now.
Yes, yes, I know.
Actually, I told him I said, Okay, Micah.
His name's Michael E.
Said, If you wake up in the middle of night and you have a bad dream, that's fine.
But just don't get up.
Don't get crying.
Don't holler for Mommy.
Daddy, just say Okay, I'm a big boy.
Go back to sleep, he said.
Okay, I can try.
So, using a tough him up approach, that's right.
For a solid week, I've been sleeping on the couch outside of the room to try to intervene Hiss like mad screen crying.
So it's been a rough, rough week.
Listen, there's gotta be some some interesting dreams in.
Has he told you what they're about? Yes.
Um, I have three kids as I've talked to you about.
I've got to four year olds in a three year old, and he said Caitlin, who's the other four year old, had a What was it? He said was trying to bite him with a wolf.
That was his answer. He said.
Jalen is trying to bite me with a wolf trying to find a picture here real quick.
We'll have some little family time get to know everyone.
But you know what? While you do that, let me just say we got everything you need over at the unwrap store.
If I say so myself.
Okay, That's Micah.
Here's Kaylin the Wolf Theater.
The Wolf Theater? Yes.
And then my youngest, Katie.
Uh, so fantastic.
That's the family there.
So, guys, please, if you do any kind of prayer save Myka or dear baby Jesus, help Michael to sleep tonight Way would greatly appreciate that.
I got one for you.
Well, like I said, we got everything that you need over at the unwrap store.
We got mugs like Michael has I got a sweatshirt on the way.
I got a poster on the way.
I saw some fanny packs in the store.
Listen, I know Michael's not going understand this, but us New Yorkers and our Callie people out there, you'll understand the fanny pack fashion now, don't get me wrong.
It's not for May.
Not for May, but how are you talking good about it if you don't even listen? I know people got different tastes, but I know you out there in the country or don't understand.
I don't understand our city folk fashion.
If you want to say a fanny pack, it's a fashion.
Then by all means, go around ahead.
Keep looking down at your screen on your computer.
Yeah, because every once in a while, you know, every once in a while I got to make sure I'm not missing a comment or something like that.
If I have to read something, I gotta look down.
You leave me alone.
You know what? Just keep paying the pills, because you need by that fanny pack, I might need to buy a fanny pack.
And then, of course, you know how I'm gonna get my fanny pack money, though, Michael, How's that? I'm going to go over my bookie dot a g and I'm gonna use code us and to double my first deposit on and then put it on and put it on a nice little bet over there.
A guaranteed bat.
How do you get a How do you get a double your deposit? I think.
What is it? I believe minimum $45.
But I think, Max, I think up to $1000.
You can double your first deposit.
So listen over to my bookie and place a nice bat.
We got bets on wrapped Alex Corey myself.
Josh is a does Benny.
Caleb, you know.
If you need betting, we'll get it covered.
You could find somebody that you could get a bed at him.
Don't you worry.
If you wanna listen to Caleb, do not take his information.
Yeah, don't for college.
Just don't take Florida State.
He'll tell you to do it every week.
Florida State could be playing like the Steelers right now, and he'd be like, This is a game for his spreads.
Only 35 easy money e a lock that in.
Well, but then, after Caleb and the rest of his fs you brothers were sore from getting beat around by the Steelers.
You know what they're gonna do? Michael, I would say that they're probably gonna be sore and need some kind of medical.
Yeah, they're probably They're probably going to go over our X hemp and you just go to our extended issue.
Essendon Safety 10% off your entire order.
They got the premium CBD creams over there.
You know, I was talking out about it.
He uses the cold at night, you know, after a one day at the gym, because you know, Alex And when he is not making thousands of dollars and being ah, Rich Boy, he's at the gym working out to try to get, you know, an NFL job.
So he uses the cold cream.
Makes himself feel brand new in the morning.
I'm saying it's nice, Alex, Don't you send me some of that over. Yeah.
Listen, I could use some, too.
I get sore going up the stairs.
You know, big boy things.
Listen, listen, okay? We're getting really since you say that I am so sorry.
This is me showing how old and out of shape I am.
My Children, like I said, haven't been sleeping very well.
So last night I said, you know what it is eight o'clock eastern time.
Let's watch something on YouTube that his kid exercise.
So I went, got some socks and shoes on it.
And let's exercise, guys.
17 minutes, and there was, like, squats and jumping jacks.
It was leg workout in lower body.
My hamstring on my left leg is killing me.
Before I went to bed, I said, Oh, sweet honey, could you please just rub on my hamstring a little bit? She thought I meant something else.
I was hoping it would lead to something else, but she did massage my hamstring. Thank you.
So yes, Very, very old.
So, yes, I probably need some of that cream.
You Listen, we'll get you.
Some are sent one of these days.
Don't you? Or Michael? I got full faith in the squad.
Thank you. Christmas time, Alex.
Now, like you said in the beginning of the show, Michael, you something You something you're used to be looking dumb things is simply and I mean simply not true.
And this is the exact reason why it's not true.
Michael, I got a question for you.
Okay? Who won those poll results on the MLB unwrapped, Uh, Twitter account off the biggest acquisition in the off season.
Because if last time I looked and that the results were over, Lin door via trade did win and re Mutawe not only was not first but was dead last behind Bauer, LeMay Hu and Lin door.
So you could say that I was very right.
And you, Michael, were very wrong.
You know, I would say this.
I'm trying to look up and see what the percentage was, but I'd rather just talk.
Yes, I'm looking out for, you know, let me look about for you.
Door was number one.
And yes, he's not available right now.
We know it be via trade.
And I hate saying the word via but via trade saying we know that question.
I got questions that determine our friendship as well.
Are you a via or via guy? What is via Oh, you all right? Good.
See your normal person? I've heard people could buy instead of Vienna.
It makes me almost wanna fight somebody.
But I would just say by trade and said Let me read.
Let me read these percentages to you.
We got wind or 46%.
We got Bauer 25.
Andrea musical is at a whopping 8% on 8%.
Okay, so here is what I have to say to defend myself.
Hello? Unwrapped MLB fans.
Thank you for participating in the votes were sorry that Connie at Connie Chats underscore has created some bots to make these votes.
If he did not create these bots, I would have to say that the 45% also has a fanny pack right now.
So it's, you know, way.
You know, I'm a little hurt that you're thinking I would I would mess up these results.
This is not the 2020 election.
What was I thinking here? Listen, these votes are legit, like, just like the 2020 election waas.
I'm just saying I'm just saying not on Lee, that I get the player who was most valuable.
Correct? No, no, no.
I believe that the order off percentages, which was Linda or Bauer LeMay who and then re Muto was the exact order that I said on my list.
So I'm not only correct, I am four.
I'm batting 1000 you know? I mean I can't really argue with the stats or, as Corey would say, the facts, the facts, whether they are you guys, just like ESPN before they had first take Numbers never lie.
Well, I will say this.
I think a lot of the in my opinion, I will say this.
This may be really I think this catcher position is the most underrated position, and that's speaking from the heart.
I feel like there's so much that they are called upon to do.
They've got to know the stat sheets or the scouting reports on every individual player that could possibly back in that game.
No, it for three games and then also know your picture and know what kind of style they like to pitch on.
They like to throw what and then nowadays, you can't be a 200 batter at catcher.
You have to be hitting home runs and batting pretty well.
So that is why the trained I had him rank so high.
You other people are just fans who want to see home runs and say, Oh, let's just pick him because he's flashy.
Whoa, how many times does a catcher make a top 10 play like E.
I mean, yeah, it's a foul ball that they want.
It just really toes.
One of my favorite places, by Gary Sanchez.
And he was in the playoffs against Houston, I believe, and Chapman was pitching and he overthrew it bounced off the back, the back stop.
Sanchez caught it with his bare hands.
Exactly caught it with his bare hand and throughout the runner at third base.
If I say so myself, that is very impressive.
I can't deny that.
So I mean, that's what I'm saying.
So athletic to like, Do you realize how hard it would be to catch a ball anywhere in the zone and then try to stand up, make your throat a second and beat the guy who already started running before the ball came to you? No, it's good.
I have great respect for catchers because listen, let me tell you, Michael, you played baseball.
And let's be really I mean, you are both bigger gentlemen.
Therefore being Yeah, that being said, Were you forced to play catch her one time? No, I never played catcher.
All right, See you.
Never mind then you will understand Struggle. I will.
I'm like, yeah, you're automatically.
That's a fat for you.
Picture O l first.
You know I know, I know, but you could never play catcher is what I'm saying.
You know, the right handers and all that.
Hey, picture though you should be the MLB right now.
What are you doing left in the pictures? You know, there's this little square that you actually got to throw the ball in.
I couldn't do that.
So let me tell you.
And like for real, the hardest throw out ever I never could do was first base catching the ball from first base and then throwing at home Never could square up right and throw it good.
I was all over the place.
E think my baby I think my Grace baseball moment was catching a fly ball in my field and throwing the runner out of home.
I swear to God, I felt like I felt like every MLB player ever has.
I was like, Yeah, I just did that.
I was like, how I was like, Yeah, I'm in the outfield like, how dare you? How dare you run on me.
You're never doing that again.
I'm pretty sure we probably ended up losing that game.
But you know what happens.
That's why baseball so much fun.
It's individual sport with a team like about 1000 hit, four home runs, hit three triples and catch every ball to me and we lose by 20.
I still had an awesome game and people are gonna know about it.
Baseball is the Onley score.
I genuinely think where you could be the most self self selfish, I was gonna say, selfless.
I don't know why selfish person on the field.
You really can be basketball doesn't work because you gotta pass around football.
I mean, it could unless you're the quarterback or running back.
But then you'll be end up being a diva.
But baseball, especially if you're a pitcher, too, because pictures are really out there by themselves, they don't have.
They don't have to worry about everybody else.
You could be the most selfish person you ever wanna be.
And in baseball a.
Okay, I agree with you.
You know what, Michael? Enough with enough with that.
We had some interesting MLB news.
We haven't got into anything We're already up to 15 minutes here.
You know, this is what the people want, though, because all these other shows, all these other shows, they get straight to the point. It's the same thing.
How many times do you talk about the same thing? So we're bringing.
We're bringing that personal connection.
Listen, let me tell you something.
I'm gonna be really hard.
I'm gonna be real here.
I took a snapshot of myself with this with the lighting I have set up because it's beautiful lighting man.
No, no, listen, I have plenty of people.
I have plenty of females on my phone. It's okay.
I looked at myself and that I said, You know what I said I might have to take another one right now like I looked fantastic.
If I say so myself, the go team might be here to stay.
Like I did it one time as a joke because I want to see what I would look like in my One of my friends told me to do it.
Listen, let me tell you something.
If I can get just right here, just this part right below the lip to connect a little bit better.
Just let it grow, man.
Because no matter what, at least it'll be very long here, and it'll just it'll look good.
You know, I'm gonna start.
I might have to start brushing and everything.
Before I came upstairs, I took my my wife's brush to my beard.
Get straighten it out, man.
Even got some gray hairs going on their kids, man. Kids.
Ain't that the truth? E Listen, I'm probably given my parents all the gray hairs that they have.
I'm the last child.
I'm the last child of three.
Well, taking on the third.
So you have three for them.
And let me tell you, I wasn't I'm not concerned.
It was a bad kid because I'm not.
But, you know, I don't think I got a single report card that did not say interrupts class talks too much.
Every state literally never failed.
And then every single time or or home work is not done.
Because, you know, I would come home.
My great parents, I would come home my mom and say, Hey, you got any homework? I said no, I don't have any or Yeah, I already did it.
Okay, on that report card would come in.
Homework is done.
She would say, I thought you were doing on your home, and I would say, Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know what happened.
You know? I struggle with that and I'll tell you why.
Because my mom was a teacher at my school, so it was always trouble.
It was always so troubling for me because I'd get in trouble at school, and then I'll have to come home and, like, tell my dad, my dad, all this teacher was horrible to me.
I was totally legit.
Mom, be like it was me.
I'm the teacher. Know it was you.
So I get out of get in trouble at school, get spanked at school, come home, and the dad would spank me on the parent.
And I'm like God, Lee.
So how's Googie? Yeah, okay.
Yeah, Listen, I wasn't Listen, I know some people are bad kids.
I was not one of them, but e you know, like, Wow, look at you.
Look at these Segways e.
I wasn't I wasn't gonna start with angels e you know what you know, it's fine.
Well, last I believe it was yesterday was the tender, non tender deadline arbitration type of thing.
And just to explain that real quick, So if you tend to play, you're basically offer the offering them a contract.
If you non tender them, then they're a free agent.
Or it could be picked up by anybody or whatever.
And he goes, Uh huh.
It's a real I don't know how much you know about the process of, like, arbitration everything like that, Michael.
But it probably to me is first of all, broken.
And second of all, one of the weirdest thing in sports for the simple fact.
If I offer you that that contract, then let's say I offer you will just do this.
If I offer you five million and then you and your agent come back and say No, no, no, we want six.
Yeah, I want six.
Then they go toe independent arbitrator.
And do you know what an arbitrator is? Because literally, I learned this last year actually with work, because apparently at tractor supply we have arbitrations.
We're in situations, and my boss was trying to explain it to me, and he's like, OK, think of baseball is like Okay, that makes a lot more sense.
Now I see what's going on.
They basically pick who's right.
If anything, like what they'll do, it's almost like a third party comes with a mutual, a non bias.
Come in and listen to both sides.
OK, the managers or the front office want to pay.
Pay me five million.
Me and my agent think I'm good for six million so they actually have this third party that will do the stats more or less like.
Okay, this is what I did last year.
Other players are doing this this year, so we actually think you should probably b'more at the 5.
7 million basically like that.
And there's no arguing from there, right? That's my understanding of it.
Well, it's a really weird process because like they go into it and your agent will make the case for you of why you deserve six million, right? And this is when it gets a weird because now your team, the team that owns your rights that you've played for, done everything blah, blah, blah, is now basically gonna go up to the arbitrator and tell every single reason why you're terrible like that.
That's that's what the teams do because obviously they don't want to pay more money.
Why? Nobody wants to pay more money.
That's how the rich people stay rich.
They're cheap, so they don't want to end up paying more money.
So, you know, just for example, if you know the Yankees offered Gary Sanchez, who was up for arbitration, who actually, they offered him a contract.
I'm sure he's probably gonna end up taking it.
Um, if he said, you know what? I was great last year, even though he bad on 1 47.
I want $10 million in the Yankees like, Whoa, we're gonna give you five.
Gary is gonna go in there and say, Listen, I did all this this this bottle of on this that and the third and the Yankees.
We're gonna go in there and say, Well, you have this money passed balls.
You batted this bad.
You were this this this they literally like There are stories legitimately off players during arbitrates and crying.
And there's also a story off.
I can't remember his name.
I was listening to the radio the other day. They mentioned it.
One of the players almost fought, one of the one of the one of the team officials.
He was so mad at what they were saying.
He almost fought them. This was years ago.
Like a very, very long time ago.
He legitimately almost fought them.
So it is a really weird process.
And the reason why I think it's broken, though, is I was listening to the radio today, and Steven Matz, I believe, would have made $5 million last year if they played 162 games.
He ended up making, like 1.
5 because the shortened season, how they agreed with the pro rated contract, everything like that.
With the tender contract, he's now gonna make 5.
You know what, is he all right? Last year? Waas.
What's that? 10th? He had the worst season off his career, but because of this whole process, he ends up getting a raise.
Gary Sanchez is gonna end up getting a raise, even though he had his worst season in the MLB.
So the arbitration process and, you know, tendered and nontendered.
It is a very, very weird thing to me.
Like, I don't know what your thoughts on our but like, the fact that you can have a terrible season and you're more than likely.
No, I'm not saying that, you know, you're gonna get a big raise, but it is a really weird thing that you're gonna have a terrible season, and then your team is like, You know what? We're just going to give you an extra 200,000, right? I honestly think it's kind of a hand in foot moment here.
I guess I don't say moment, But, you know, one thing that we always kind of talk about is how the MLB keeps players from being stars outside of baseball.
And this is almost a way I feel like it is to keep him in check where, Hey, you know, we're not going to give you everything that you think you should get like an NFL in the N B A.
Like if a player comes out and says I'm going to sign a one year deal and I'm gonna ask for $10 million.
If you give it to me, I'm just gonna or If you don't give it to me, I'm gonna go somewhere else.
And I demand that, you know, we have been seeing especially with the n b A.
And I feel like this is a way with the MLB, like, Okay, I'm going to tender you.
And this is what you're gonna make.
If you think something else, we're gonna meet in the middle, and you're not gonna have to pay nearly as much.
I almost feel like it's a way to keep owners to keep the players in, check more and basically on them better.
Because, you know, there's no high profile players in the MLB other than Bauer.
And that's because of Social Media period.
Not because with how much he's making or anything like that.
I mean, you had a rod that did good, but I mean, it's We'll see.
Okay, what's your definition of high profile? Well, let me say this, Brandon, not who was They started.
Kentucky went on to get dunked on a demolished play from, uh, DeAndre Jordan.
And he was actually making more money then Stefan Curry.
Not at that time, but when Stefan Curry had already won a championship because at that time they raised the salary caps, and everyone was just pushing everything like that.
And it was the trend, you know? And everyone is getting paid.
Should something like that really happened? No, but the MLB, you know, everyone is make.
Okay, let's just be honest, MLB.
You're probably making the bottom of every top sport.
I'm trying to think the three top main sports that there are.
Well, your contract.
You think I mean I mean trout assigned 10 years, $450 million.
What was it? I think it was 10 years. 450.
Okay, well, so I don't know your lag.
And for me, what do you say? I said, I feel like trout is anomaly anonymous.
But even if you say that, I think, uh, I believe Garrett Coles was 10 years, 350 million? Yes, but they're also not able to make these others outside of baseball.
Yeah, they can't.
They're not making as much money on branding deals and things like that, like LeBron or somebody else with that absolutely e think contract based solely E.
But I think that's what it is.
I think I worded that wrong? Like the contracts are bigger, but that's basically the limit.
LeBron James could make $30 million in three years in the n B A.
But he could make 130 million just from because of his different brands that he has through the MBA, though, and I feel like the arbitrations and everything kind of keep that, uh, handicapped, of being able to do anything else.
It Z like That's the thing.
It's weird with MLB contracts in general, though, because they're guaranteed like you can.
You can go out there if you're Mike Trout.
When you signed 10 years, $450 million if you went from M V P level to the words player on the team.
Well, guess what sucks for you angels, because you're still paying me my $45 million a year in where, like the the NFL, your contract is not guaranteed.
Like you go out there and you sign two years, $30 million.
Size would be 15 a year, but then they only guarantee you know 12 of it.
Yeah, you're gonna get the 12 and don't get me wrong.
We're saying only $12 million.
Listen, if you wanna throw me 12 million, Yeah.
If you wanna throw me $12 million anybody in the sports world, please, I'll you know I'll do it for a million.
If anything, I'll even with the price.
But I'm saying, if they're not guaranteed so baseball contracts Listen, if I don't have Children, Michael, I'm I'm just saying e might make them have to play baseball because I'm telling you right now, if they could get a nice little Mike drought deal, I'm retiring at the age of 20 or, you know, at the age of 30 I understand.
I understand I'm teaching my son how to kick a football.
You know, that's also not a bad idea.
There really isn't.
They don't They don't They don't do anything.
They don't do anything at practice.
The only time you gotta worry about attack was on a kickoff return, and even then you're not really expected to do much kind of just like getting away and lay down.
You trot like your your containment.
You trot down the field like everyone else is 100 MPH.
She just like I'm going to kind of go this way.
Now I gotta do something.
My hate us for talking bad about kickers here, but at the same time, they probably practice 5%.
I'm not I'm not e no, but I mean, really, they probably practice 5% of the whole day and they probably just lounge around.
Kick a ball and see how far you got to get it.
Like their most physical activity that they do is probably go actually chase down their balls, but they kick.
Oh, my goodness.
So, yeah, I mean it.
Kick a ball for 20 years and make five million a year e I wouldn't be mad, I tell you that.
But let's get into some of the players that were nontendered.
I guess you could say I think, you know, I'll just go down.
We're not gonna get into all because there was almost, you know, 60 players that were non gender.
So we don't have time to go through all that, but go through some of the bigger names here.
Uh, Kyle Schwarber.
Adam Duvall, Anti Rosario Nomad Mazara.
Uh, gosh, I can't say his name.
Mama Franco and Travis Shaw s O.
There are definitely some solid names on this list.
And I'm just gonna say it from my perspective.
The one that pops out to me is Kyle Schwarber.
Only because I, you know, being Yankee fan, I've heard his name a million times.
They feel I felt like every season the Yankees were trying to trade for him, and they could just not ever do it.
Uh, so I'm kind of interested to see where it goes now, with them being not intended, that does not mean that they can't go back to their original team.
You know, you can still sign a contract with your team because like I said, you're basically a free agent now, so you can kind of go wherever you want.
But I think I think the two that popped out to me the most were the first to that I read with with Schwarber and and Duval.
You know what Rosario pops out a little bit is well, and like I said, there's just some solid names on here.
I'm just looking at Schwarber stats from last year.
I know he wasn't, you know, amazing.
Well, I feel like everybody kind of had a down year last year with with the whole covert situation.
But the year before, you know to 50 and he definitely Schwarber was one of the people that helped the Cubs win that world. Siri's.
I feel like a lot of people forget that.
He's kind of like for gotten a member of that cops because you have Rizzo.
You have Bryant.
You have Simmons that short, so he's kind of for gotten in that role.
But I think Schwarber's made for an A L team honestly, because we don't know what the NFL is doing with the D A situation, obviously hoping that they keep it.
I know that me and Michael both are.
E think he's more suited for a disposition.
He is definitely not a stellar my fielder, which is where the cops had to play him, obviously, to get him into the lineup.
So I'm kind of I'm very curious to see where he ends up landing.
That's probably, you know, the number one person that I saw for me.
I don't know about you Michael, but definitely looking at Suaram.
Very interested to see where he goes.
Yeah, I think he's the most interesting as of right now, the player that's available on that because, you know, like we were saying he is outfielder D.
H I feel like he's gonna be mostly just a D H.
And and some of the stuff I read is with him being non tenured tender.
He probably will pay attention to an L offer better than nl because, like we're saying NL, we don't know if they're going to D. H. You know.
But, you know, you're talking about a stats from last year even go.
A year before that, though, he had career highs with 38 home runs in 2019 and, UH, 8 71.
So I mean, it could be a factor that it's an odd year that you know, you you've got to start hot and keep hot to be good last for this year.
I guess we should say last year, 2020 season.
So I think I do think people probably will try to use the stats for this year when they talk to him and say, Hey, we're still going to take a chance on you, but we want you to focus just strictly on D. H.
I'm really big big into the Angels this year.
I don't think that they could get him, but I would love that.
And I know we're gonna talk about the angels.
Um or maybe that's why I'm or focus on the Angels this year is just I'm interested to see where he goes.
I could even see the White Sox making a move for him just because he played for the Cubs and you choose to that area Adam Duvall.
He actually came up through the red system since the Reds did.
He did he d h this season this season, off and on.
He was mostly outfield, But yeah, he did th some not much because I was listening to the radio today and I don't know if it was Duval or somebody else at the Braves nontendered.
I can't remember now.
That's why I asked.
But they said they said, you know, at that point, I think it was Duvall.
Oh, that he should be so annoyed with the MLB in the end.
You know, the players Association because the Braves not intended him because they don't know what the situation is gonna be.
And you obviously can't invest money into somebody that if you plan for him to play D h and then all of a sudden it's like, you know, And now we're going back to the traditional thing.
So if I'm Duval and I'm pretty sure that is who it was that they were talking about, Gosh, that it has to be so, so annoying and eso unfortunate if anything, Because, like I said, you can't invest money to somebody and then you don't know if you can actually use him, right? And what's even craziest on MLB dot com? One of the things we're talking about with the ball here.
He had 16 home runs this in 57 games in the short season, which is pretty good. He had 8.
S and let's see what else was I just want to read.
And what I think is odd that the Braves it and resign him on this is this year he was on Lee, guaranteed for his salary was $3.
I mean, that's really not that expensive.
So I mean, given with his power, I think there'll be a lot of interest with him going on on what's even good about his cases.
This would have been his third are Archer came saying now, Operation year.
So he actually been arbitration? I left a total together other than but, uh, he actually will.
Whoever signs him we'll have them for another year is well, through 2022.
So it's not just a one year kind of guy, so that's good.
What I like about him, um, one guy that I also was very interested in is, uh, Archie Bradley, who was another Reds player.
Guys, I'm sorry.
You'll hear me talk about the Reds quite a bit.
Um, he was a really good picture for us.
A middle reliever, right handed pitcher.
Hey, was very consistent in relieving role this year for us, even basically the past four years and, uh, what's craziest? We actually just traded for him for about three or four months ago, so I mean, we made a trade to get this guy to come over, and now we're just going ahead and let him go away.
It doesn't really make sense, especially with, uh, Iglesias are closing pitcher.
The struggle that he had, like a lot of people thought that they would probably be trying to trade Iglesias for another team for closer and move Bradley into closing, especially because I think he's only he was gonna be less than $10 million this year.
So and even, I think, uh, since 2017, some of the notes that I've tried toe drop down from him.
95 and he's only 28 years old.
So I mean, to me, this is a younger player that's starting to get to his prime and doing good and not really that expensive, so I don't know, but I do think this is gonna be a problem.
Going on with all teams is that they just don't have this money from no fans this year, that they can't sign all these players.
And I think e like.
That's exactly what so many players got tended what I'm really afraid of and I haven't even heard anything.
This is just Michael Lawson.
Throwing this out here is what if all these players that are getting these nontendered and not getting the deals that they think they deserve? What if these players just say, you know what? We're just gonna go on strike.
See, that's a slippery, slippery slope, though, because if you might not be getting the contracts you think you deserve or something like that.
But if you go on strike now, see, I don't think they're going straight because there wouldn't be a it wouldn't be like a whole MLB thing.
I think you know, when CBS are over and there's, you know, that negotiation period.
That's when all the players can really come together.
But if you're Mike Trout, if you're you know Mookie Betts, you know, players that are locked into these massive deals, why are you going on strike for you know, the 20? You know, the 22nd man on your roster who can't get a spot now because you know there's there were no fans in the stands is here, so that would be a very slippery.
I couldn't see that happening just because, like I said, are, I don't it's they're not all together in this in this situation, It's more of the players that are nontendered that have to worry about it.
But the other thing is to with with being attended, you're definitely gonna be able to get some of these better players for a lower price.
You know, you're not This isn't gonna be an off season.
I think in general this isn't gonna be an offseason where you see a ton of money thrown around, I think the top You know, a few people are gonna end up getting the money like like, you know, like we've said in previous episodes.
Bauer will get his money when he will get his money.
Re mutual will get his money when they when somebody when somebody trades for number one letting door, uh, they will definitely get him a long term extension.
But I I just don't see this offseason being very busy if I'm one of these players, and it might sound weird, but if I might truly go with the first offer that's giving Jewish E, I just think it's gonna be crazy.
Offseason that Yeah, the first thing that looks decently good.
You're gonna take because how could you Let's stuff lingo? Because I mean, let's be honest, these players are these front offices they're gonna be looking to say, Okay, this is the guy want Let's give them the offer if they don't take it, Okay.
Were Plan B already because we can't go any higher.
This is everything we had already.
So you're gonna go cheaper, and you're gonna start filling up your officers very fast.
We'll all do, Johnny.
That should have got that.
That turned it down. Got greedy.
Now there's no teams that could take him now.
So what do you do that? I mean, do you take the cut? Then they just go to anything.
I don't think that happens, but what I do think happens.
Is there somebody out there up north towards your area that has a billfold that is full of money and can make that offer? He has a building full of money with his $14 billion network. I believe so.
Oh, yeah, Totally.
Now, Steve Cohen.
Listen, I'm just telling you, I might be a Yankee fan for the right amount of money.
I am willing to put on a Mets hat.
So if you wanna, you know if you want some baseball information? I'm from New York.
So I you know, I know everything about you know, the New York sports teams.
Besides, listen, unless it's soccer, because I'm you couldn't pay me enough money to watch soccer.
I'm just gonna put that out there and it's actually interesting, I you know, and it sounds bad again to this argument.
People who are soccer fans.
I was like, Oh, you can't watch soccer. But you watch baseball.
Yeah, I dio I literally you.
I would rather paint my grass green than have to watch soccer.
So I'm just saying just saying I'll say this.
Soccer is very boring, But if you know the rules and understand what's going on, it makes it more interesting.
I'll say, I'm not gonna argue with that with you on that because all of the people that I think baseball or boy that I've talked Thio.
I'm like, Well, do you understand what's happened there? Like absolutely no, I'm like, Well, obviously you think it's more because you have no idea what's going on and listen.
I have absolutely no clue what goes on in soccer.
Besides, I know you have to kick it into the net.
Let me tell you, I actually coached their high school.
One year I was assistant coach with one of our guys with unwrapped sports, Andrew Williams and I.
We had no idea what we were doing, but it was the first year of the high school soccer team.
And so we're just playing all these different games, trying to learn the rules and just learn everything.
And it was so comical to know the rules.
And now our fans and our parents didn't like I don't know if you know this or not, but your defense, like you can push them as far ahead as you can.
And then if their offense is behind it before it passes, made that they're all sides, no matter where.
So we kept trying to shorten the field and get our guys across the midfield line and to be on offense basically, and they had three or four guys like 20 yards close their ago.
They're like, Oh, get back on.
Do you get back on D? I think I just kick a long ball.
Were like, No, they'll be outside.
It's no big deal.
That team don't even know the rules.
So that's the only thing that I would say.
If soccer can be fun.
If you know what's going on, your holidays, maybe one of these days I'll give it a try.
I'm not promising anything.
And I hopped down. It will actually happen.
Watch the girls.
Uh, no, no, That's the thing, though.
I'll watch the World Cup.
Okay, well, alright, let me not lie.
Once again, I'll watch the finals of the World Cup.
I'm not sitting there and watching everything, I'll tell you that.
Let's get it back to baseball.
We went over some players, some of the players that were nontendered.
I talked about it, you know, before with the Yankees tendering Sanchez, I'll just touch on it one more time.
In case you were late.
They did, uh, send a contract to Gary.
I expect him Thio accept it.
It was kind of weird seeing Yankee fans like I I followed some, you know, Yankee pages and somebody was somebody wrote while the Yankees, obviously the Yankees tendered Gary Sanchez an obvious move and all the comments like, Oh, how is this obvious? He was terrible last year.
Bah blah and don't get me wrong, he waas Listen, watching those games were legitimately and I mean legitimately painful watching him hit.
But I feel like you can't give up on him yet.
There is just way too much potential.
The Yankee announcer, Michael Kay said it, and I kind of agree with him on this.
Gary before was not the best catcher he had.
He had passed ball problems, everything like that.
This will pass off season.
They brought in like the best catching coach possible.
They brought it over from the Twins, and that's why Gary now plays down on one knee.
So we can, you know, frame the frame, the pictures that come in lower and things like that.
And Michael Kay was saying they broke him.
So he has so much information going on in his head now with trying the frame pitches, trying Thio call a game, which is very, you know, obviously important.
You can't just go back there and say, Oh, yeah, I want a fastball this time like No, you have to know that this player, if you throw a fastball, is gonna hit it 420 ft.
So There's just a lot of information to process.
And so what? We're getting this.
The catcher position is very important.
This process isn't pro.
Hey, listen, it might be important.
It doesn't mean it's the most, uh, prolific position on the field guy.
Okay, okay, I'll take I'll take my I'll take my All Star switch hitting Gold Glove winner Francisco Indoor.
Anyway, you're getting me off topic here with with Gary, You just can't give up yet.
And I know it's so easy to say it and that you want you because he played so bad last year.
And even since you know the second end of 2019, it's kind of been a downward spiral.
He was still in All Star in 2019.
When he's healthy, he can legitimately hit you 30 home runs.
He could be, you know, with Joey Gallo, type of player where yeah, he might back 200.
You might be absolutely right.
But if he's hitting me 40 home runs at the catcher position, I might, you know, suck it up and let him let him deal with his things because I hope that they in this off season there, just like, you know, Listen, Gary, we try to make you better catcher.
It doesn't matter anymore.
Just go back to hitting because you're not keeping Gary Sanchez around because he's our Gold Glove catcher.
That's not the reason you care about him.
You care about him because when he's healthy and when he's fully focused on locked in, he has the potential to be the best hitting catcher in the entire league.
I saw what he did his rookie year.
I saw what he did his rookie year when he came in with him.
You mean, um, when when Gary came up and after the Yankees had just got done training? I believe that was Do they traded Chapman.
They also traded Miller and Carlos Beltran.
Gary Sanchez came up from the minor leagues and put the team on his back.
I believe he I think he hit the most home runs in his first a few games.
I don't know if that's still the record.
It might have been broken with, you know, all the home run creation that's that's gone on recently, but you're keeping Gary centers around because he's such a good hitter.
So if I'm the Yankees and listen this they're never gonna listen to me, because who am I? Don't worry.
I'll be working for them one day.
Hopefully or, um Oh, yeah.
Listen, any money make you do anything, but if I'm them, I'm saying Gary down the beginning of spring training saying, Listen, go back to hitting.
I want your only focus to be hitting.
If you have to stay on this field 24 7, we will keep the We'll keep the **** lights on and we'll leave a picture here for you to hit off of all night because you can't tell me he went from an All Star in 2019.
And even when he started sloping down to not, he couldn't hit a fastball last year.
You can't be in the MLB if you can't hit a fastball.
I mean, you've seen plenty of people not be able to hit, you know, the off speed pitches or struggle with the curveball, you know, shout out toe the movie.
Major league with major league.
We're talking about Major leaguer or the curve one.
I can't think of any trouble with the curve.
Yeah, because, you know, a major league, that one guy couldn't hit a curveball for it to save his life.
So if you if you can't hit a fastball, you just can't be in the league.
But I think that I think that they're keeping him around for sure, too, though.
And I don't know about you, Michael, because I know with Sonny Gray it hurts a tad bit.
Not as much, because he wasn't home grown and he just simply was never good on the Yankees.
Gary Sanchez at least, was.
If you're the Yankees, how bad does it look? If you're homegrown All star catcher, you can't hit for you and then goes to any other team and all of a sudden turns back into what he was before.
I'll be honest with you.
It's not that bad after a while when you get used to it, because Cincinnati Reds, they're all over the place, doing good like Edward Incarnation used to make me so mad because he was horrible for the Reds third base.
He would have like an error, a game and two strikeouts a game, then were like, Okay, let's just trading for cash I mean, at least we get something, and then he goes up thio Toronto and just becomes ah superstar now.
And like, he's a big game.
Like, where was this? You know, And then I'm trying to think.
Who else could we talk about? Well, see, even Mike Leake, but you may not know him because he wasn't too big, OK? Even Chapman, who was there closer for the longest time that we traded him.
I mean, he did decent, but he wasn't very.
His command was way off.
I mean, he got the the saves.
Don't get me wrong.
But Todd Frazier he was a good third baseman.
Force went up to play.
Did you play for the Yankees? He did both New York teams.
Actually, as you say, he's with the Mets now.
I mean, yeah, it happens.
Alonso, who just retired this year.
He was their big studied third baseman, but he got stopped, I think, because of Edwin Encarnacion or Todd Frazier.
Actually, maybe it's the third base for us.
Uh, no, I'm sorry.
He was the first baseman.
Bottle was there, and they talked about trying to make him move to third base, but then they just instead moved him to the Padres.
So, yeah, you know, it's it's not that bad.
At first, it kind of hurts.
But then it kind of comes second nature, like we get rid of every player and they all of a sudden become good wherever they I'm a Yankee fan, so I'm not used to being, uh, useless being good.
And I'm not used.
I'm not used to a poverty franchise, you know, like Kenya.
Ouch! Out, man, like do you all actually have, like, a farm team? Or is like the small market teams your farm teams like? Whoa, whoa, whoa! It's legit.
Very Judge Homegrown.
Hey, strikes out her hits a homer, which was healthy.
Judge is a top five player in baseball.
Oh, I don't know.
I'm a hater, but go ahead, carry on, Gary.
He's obviously struggling now, so he's on the struggle bus.
Brett Gardner, who's been with us forever.
Louisa Marino has a great future now.
Glaber Torres, Technically bright futures or they're good, like I mean there.
No, Derek Jeter's, they're cheater was a home run player.
Well, that's that's probably the only one like that.
Okay, so you name three in the Yankees or Jorge Posada? I mean, who even watches the Yankees outside of eso? You could say, like, Egger rent career.
I wanna be like, Yeah, I guess he did grow up playing for the Yankees. I don't know.
No one no one likes. Yeah.
How about that one, my boy? Who? That is it.
He's a Yankee announcer.
Oh, did you know he played for the Reds, too? Yeah.
Aaron Boone played for the Reds.
Listen, I'm a little offended right now that you don't think I have this much baseball amount.
No, I'm just saying we are your farm team.
We've seen their guys to you.
Listen, it's not my fault that my team has truck loads of money.
I mean, that's it.
It's just truckloads of money.
I'm just saying they wanna back one up and filter it into my room.
I wouldn't be mad, Twitter.
In fact, in fact, I tweeted out a picture today.
So if you want Oh, if anybody wants to go out there and retweeted try to help a boy out.
I got my I got my Aaron judge Jersey in the mail today, so I'm Listen, I'm saying is I could use a quick signature.
Just a quick a quick little a j anything and not least a nice little number 99 to Connie.
And I'll take anything.
You know what? I want to get something where we can, like, say, okay, You need to, like, can re share their tweet and you win something like that.
Wouldn't that be awesome? Listen, when we have our emerged coming soon, I think that's what we dio.
Just when merch.
I want autographs from these players.
I want something I want to Aaron judge and say, You know what, guys? Backstop banter.
Here's this jersey, and I've signed it.
Now give it away.
Hey, I'm all for I'm all ****ing I'll go down the Yankee Stadium right now.
I'll take the take the train right down there from Beacon go beacon right to Yankee Stadium.
You know, somehow you lost it on the way back, right? Yeah.
You know, I think it flew out of the train window.
Honestly, E understand, Understand? It was an unfortunate turn of events.
It happens to the best of us.
You know what happens to the best of us? What's that? Getting traded? It really does.
And Cory, listen, I don't know how to tackle.
You say this guy's last name isn't able.
You're asking me? The hillbilly from Southeastern Kentucky said, Yeah, but I mean, he played for the Brewers.
I felt like you would know him.
Even then I couldn't pronounce his name.
So yeah, sounds good to me.
I'm sure that I'm sure that K is silent.
Yeah, I feel like it probably is too well, one of the bigger or not.
I wouldn't say bigger.
What I would say, probably the first e.
It's novel, but but that's just novel nibble.
Obi Obi Wan Kenobi.
We'll go with anything here.
Well, one day we'll figure it out and be professionals.
But until then, Corey Corey Yeah, you know, we're going with core for for exactly horror picture for the Brewers.
He was actually there closer.
Who was closing instead of Josh hater.
Josh haters definitely considered one of the top relievers in baseball, so that kind of shows you what the what The Brewers thought of him.
We have some Dodgers fans.
Obviously, I interact with Perry, Matt, Alex, everybody like that on They were custom.
Yeah, they were kind of excited when this trade went down.
And I'm gonna be honest.
I hadn't really heard of him because, like I said, I definitely gnome or a all people that they know because I don't have to pay attention to that side until the playoffs come.
Eso I looked him up and his stats definitely didn't impress me.
But it's also a reliever thing where, especially last year, if you have one bad game 23 bad games is a reliever.
All of a sudden, you're er a is eight because you're in there for one s So it's now It takes a very, very long time to get your IRA down.
I think it was like six last year.
The year before it was like a 3.
5 something in that area.
He was an all Star back in 2017, I believe.
Yeah, but we now believe that year 39 things that year 1 78 e. R. A.
And Perry also sent me his, uh, his playoff stats.
And I don't know, maybe if I'll be able Thio pull it up here in the MLB chat, as I am talking.
But, uh oh, here they are, right here in the postseason.
He has nine games.
He's wanna know 10 innings pitched, 14 strikeouts and a 140.
And let me tell you something.
He got traded to the Dodgers in case we didn't say that.
If you're the Dodgers, you're not really too worried about the regular season have made us with you because they have run away with that division.
It seems like every single year, so you're not really too worried about that.
You get people who can play in the postseason, and if he's gonna play like that in the post season, it's a great trade for them.
I don't I don't know what they gave up.
I just saw that they did make the trade, but if you could get someone and that's the other thing, too.
If the Dodgers had a weak point in their team, it definitely wasn't their lineup, and it definitely wasn't their starting pitching.
It was absolutely their bullpen.
So that's that's what gave them a little bit of struggle.
Kenley Jansen, I probably think, is past his prime and might not.
I don't know how much longer he's gonna be around, so you kind of start the transition process where Jansen's probably getting up being the set up guy now to Cory, who will then obviously, be your closer.
But it's It's a solid move for them because it's a need.
It's not like going out.
And they traded for another superstar.
You know, hitter, where they already have bets and Ballenger and and people like that.
This is something that they totally needed because it is a struggle point for them.
So I you know, the regular season stats might not have impressed me, and, like I said, I haven't I don't know too much about him because I don't have to pay attention to the NL.
But if you're gonna play like that in the postseason, this is absolutely went for them.
I'm reading my phone right here.
I went to try to find the trade what was all traded, and I've got stomped by this article that I want to read later, and I think you would be interested in it.
Staten Island Yankees sees operations team files lawsuit against Yankees and MLB.
Yeah, they're actually, um, the Hudson Valley Renegades, which is actually, like, 45 minutes away from me.
I used to go to the camps.
They were there, they were a single A affiliate off the res.
And apparently now the Staten Island Yankees or some or one of the one of the Yankees minor league teams is gonna be the renegades now.
So I know that there was a whole big thing with that because I guess, like they weren't informed until, you know, later on in the process.
But yeah, I might be how might be heading on over to some Hudson Valley running a team to see some of my future Yankees there.
You don't get autographs, and then when they get good, you know that that's what I'm saying.
You know, maybe somebody I'm, of course, is not wishing it.
Anybody one of these bigger players gets hurt, has to go down and place. Um, singlet.
I'm just saying that's the season tickets Roger Clemens pitched in Lexington, Kentucky, And my goodness that place was packed.
I didn't get to go, but that was That would have been amazing to go watch.
Might have been Louisville.
It might have been the Louisville bats instead of the Lexington Legends.
I'm not for sure.
Think about the Middle Louisville E.
It was that bad.
Now that's how you say it. Louisville.
It's not the Lewisville.
I'll tell you that much. No. Yeah, hell, no.
But let's see, we got one more other thing that I don't know how big resigning this is as well, but the first to may.
It is super big, and I'm not even playing to me. It's super big.
Keep on Trevor May.
Sorry I missed that one the next.
Okay, Trevor may decide with the Mets, and like I said, I don't think it's too big.
But that's also some bullpen help for them.
That's a place that they've been struggling.
I kind of know Trevor Maim or as a gamer than of, ah, baseball player because he streams on twitch all the time, and he's like always in games like the bigger streamers.
So it's kind of funny.
I kind of know him or for that than then playing baseball.
But the Mets made assigning that.
I feel I think that's their first signing under Cohen.
So we'll see how much ever made Does.
And, uh, actually, you'll you'll enjoy this. Michael, you enjoy this.
When he I think he put out a tweet and said Sorry.
Mets fans that I'm not the other Trevor.
Uh, actually, when I read it the first time I've seen it, I read it.
As Trevor may be signing with the Mets, I was like, Oh, no.
Then I read it, like, two or three times.
There's like, Trevor May.
I was like, Dang it, that sucks.
I'm sorry, but glad it's him.
All right, now, now let's go.
You were very excited about this, Jose Galicia.
So the angel's Yes, I am.
And I'm probably assuming you're not because I heard your puberty.
You know, I was just Oh, wow.
Wow, e I I Listen, I did it on purpose.
You gotta have those voice inflections Profession.
I work so Alright, continue.
This is the reason why I like it.
The Angels were in place to make a big move.
Ah, lot of people thought that they would go for lead in our for the shortstop position.
This to me says, Hey, we're not going this route.
We filled in this gap who, uh, Iglesias was wonderful for the Cincinnati Reds.
A glove also was a decent batter, so it's not a bad sign at a shortstop position.
So he is a legit shortstop now to me signing this, basically getting a poor man's shortstop who can actually compete.
E yeah, yeah, whatever.
But still, I mean, if you bad over 300 for for 10? Yeah, good.
But 39 games that year.
So I think it's a great signing because it's gonna be a cheaper shortstop that is proving to have a bat and be wonderful at defense.
I think this sets it up for a Realmuto and Trevor Bauer signing for the Angels.
Obviously, I hope that you're right on some of these things.
Like I really dio Well, listen, I don't I can't have you be right all the time.
I don't need to go into your head.
And because I'm so far, listen, I'm just saying so far, I want to know in the right department.
You're You're wrong.
Actually, I'm gonna give myself too.
And though, because I got Lindo, right, and I got in the perfect order, I mean, I will give you that.
That was That was good.
So But I do want this to happen, And it's not even because of you is because I need Mike Trout to be on a competitive team.
I am the Angels to kinda Dodgers.
I don't care who the Angels are competing, and I just need Mike Trout to make it to the playoffs.
It's killing me.
No, it is killing baseball because he is easily your best player.
I know everybody's gonna get swept up with Mookie Betts and what he did last year and and you know, you could name you could go down.
The list are in odd.
Oh, you know, I know you're a judge hater, but what judges Health is very good.
Mike Trout is your best player.
Mike Trout has been the best player for like, almost a decade.
I don't even know how long he spent in, but he's been solid for a long time everyone you just named.
It's been like a two year player.
Yeah, my trial is my generation's whoever.
Well, I mean, Mike Trout is my generation's mike trout, but I don't know, compared to I mean, you have to say a Jeter.
I don't I don't know.
I don't know who even took her parents because he doesn't want to say, you know, I was gonna say the same thing, but I didn't want to say either because of everything that he's gone through.
But I hope you're right.
Some of these things because I just want them to be more competitive.
If you could get re Muto, If you could get Bauer, start fielding a competitive team while my trout was still in his prime.
Who did they get from the nationals last year? I can't think of his name now.
Anthony Rendon? Yes.
Yes, I think it was.
I don't think they signed Rendon last off season.
And then I know he had some injury problems this year, so I don't know how much he was on the field with trout, and then I know trout also missing games because his wife gave birth and you know, a whole bunch of things like that.
But I'm just praying, man, that the Angels couldn't field a competitive team.
I'll try was in his prime because I just want to see him in the playoffs.
I think if I think it will be such a not even a good look for baseball, it'll be just so fun to watch because you're, I think, people who are non baseball fans, you're you're finally gonna have somebody that's you could sit down.
And I think everybody in the baseball community can kind of agree, like just I know you might not like baseball, but please, just sit down and watch this guys at bat watch this guy when a ball is hit to him in the outfield like he is unbelievable.
And I just hope that they feel the competitive team because I think it would be so much fun watching him in the postseason.
If you are a teenage boy or a younger boy and you look for a role model of how to play the game and what to do, watch Mike Trout.
The dude does his business and gets going now.
I'm not even saying it's unwritten rule from him, like he doesn't do the backflips.
He doesn't run his mouth.
I mean, it's straight business for him.
He's here toe win.
He's here to play, and that's what he takes care of.
So that's why I like Mike Trout.
I really hope Here's my two things, either make a move now to try to get these two players.
Since you already just sign Iglesias, who I can pronounce his name because he played for the Reds and you try to compete now or you trade Mike Trout.
Baseball needs Mike Trout on a winning team, but you do not trade into the Dodgers and you do not trade him to the Yankees.
You could do that.
You don't and see.
This is why I think the movie actually happens.
I think Trevor Bauer is a player that's going to go to a team that is a competitors now to win.
I don't think Trevor Bauer has the mindset that he wants to go to a Stack team to win.
That's like I'm going against every green.
There is to prove to you that I am the man and this is the team.
That's why I think it's either gonna be the Angels or the Mets, because the New York is a good place to be.
But it's not the Yankees, and you can guarantee it.
If the Mets play the Yankees and they win, driver is gonna run that jaw like crazy deservingly.
So So that's why I also think 465 right off.
But that's why I also think the Angels are the second team because their kryptonite is the Dodgers.
Those were the two teams, basically, and the Angels have just not performed for a long time now.
Like they should be good, but they just don't third.
The Dallas Cowboys don't ever, however, because we actually like the Angels.
Nobody likes the Cowboys.
Nobody likes it.
Unless you're a Cowboys fan.
You don't like the Cowboys unless you're a Yankees fan.
You don't like the Yankees? No, no, I don't mean it like that.
Like you hate the cow.
What? I mean, I guess that's true about the Yankees.
To you hate the Yankees? Maybe.
All right, but not as much recently.
I see back in the day, But I feel like now it's not as bad.
No, it doesn't matter.
You still hate the Yankees.
If you turn on anything ESPN or MLB, that is baseball related.
You see a Yankee even though the Dodgers want it.
Well, you were the most marketable team.
What can I say? Actually, the Dallas Cowboys is number one through all the three main sports.
But I'm just saying, I mean, yeah, we're the most expensive baseball team, though, so obviously you gotta show us off.
Well, you know what? It is going to be talking about New York sports, though, because I think I'm gonna now go into the rant of the, uh maybe you just beat me thio Azaz.
We start wrapping up this show, but I'm gonna go into the rant because I want to talk about New York real quick.
And it is e o que e got the signal shot right now with the audience.
Well, let's get into New York sports and not actually not even New York sports.
Just New York in general, there has to stop where New York thinks that we're the best of everything.
don't get me wrong.
I really wish we were, because then I could go around everybody who's not a Yankee bat, whatever fan and just talk whatever I want to do about them.
But I was listening to the radio the other day.
Steve Cohen has been the owner of the Mets for two weeks to, and he couldn't hire to people because, you know, a team wouldn't let them go or or they may be.
They just They decided to take the name out of the running for a position Already in The New York Post, there is a writer saying that he's a failure as an owner.
He's owned the team for two weeks.
So let me tell you something if he couldn't hire those people, but then all of a sudden they win a World Series in the next year.
Is he still a failure As an owner? I don't know who the writer is, but God, are you stupid? It has to hurt to be that dumb.
I'm surprised they let you caught your own food with a knife because it is generally impressive that somebody can own a team for two weeks and you think that they're a bad owner because they didn't hire to people.
I don't know what it is in New York, and, you know, you see it all over the place.
Listen, nobody wants to play for the Knicks.
You wonder why I know you want to play for the Knicks.
First of all, they're terrible.
But why am I a good player? I'm gonna go to the Knicks, And if I don't make our team go to the playoffs in the first year, I'm now considered terrible.
What is what is the point of playing in New York? There is no law anymore because the fans and the media just kill everything that goes on. Now.
I'd like to look at myself as a rational fan, so I don't actually do these things.
You know, it's crazy.
You see a player do bad on the Yankees on the Mets, you can.
They boot Derek Jeter.
They booed Derek Jeter when he was on like an over 19 slump.
What are we doing? At some point? We have to acknowledge that our teams are terrible.
Besides the Yankees, the Giants awful, the Jets might be the worst team in NFL history mats have been a joke for the past couple of years.
The Rangers are on the up.
The Islanders are on the up the next don't.
You shouldn't even be allowed to talk about them.
And now the network 80 might be on the office.
Well, but I don't know what this whole thing about.
We have to be the best that this or that is because we're clearly not so before, you know, all of New York sports.
And you know, all of our fans get start getting into Cohen about Oh, your failure as an owner because you couldn't hire this person.
And even if he has, ah, bad off season this year, it's his first one as an owner.
If everybody was good at something the first time they did it, there will be a lot more professional players here.
And they're doing different things.
And, you know, living happier lives.
Because if you're good at something the first time, you know what? You're just a natural born talent.
If he strikes out this offseason, doesn't get Bauer doesn't get re Muto.
Listen, by the way, they're looking at James McCann and not re Muto for the catcher position.
So that might tell you where they're leaning in that position anyway.
How are we getting into a bad ownership already? You want to see bad ownership? You could look at the Wilpons, which Mets fans just had before, Who any time there was Ah, free agent.
You might as well have looked away as the Mets fan because there was absolutely no chance that you were gonna get him because the Wilpons were dumb enough to get scammed by somebody and have to pay all that money.
Actually, didn't have any money for free agents.
Cohen's coming in in the best time possible, where all these teams just lost money and was coming in with $14 billion in his pocket.
And you're gonna call him a bad or because he couldn't hire to people.
Are we being serious now? I'll throw us in New York sling lingo in there.
Are we being that ass like, Seriously, that's what we're doing.
That's what we're doing.
But, Michael, I don't know how you feel.
That is, uh, that's my rant.
Kudos to you. Kudos to you.
There's a comment in there.
I don't know if you've seen it, man.
There he looked e like that beard he's got going on.
But e mean, it's like the Dallas Cowboys.
And again, I'm a fan of who year in and year out.
Our fans were saying, We're number one, we're gonna win.
This is the year we win the Super Bowl and we come down last.
Sadly enough, you said that the Giants are horrible, but they're number one in our in our division.
The n f c N f l N f c East, or at least so, yeah, I definitely think New York has this prerogative that they have to keep up, that there is going to be the number one no matter what, and kudos to you for acknowledging that you're not is well.
It's just so annoying because, like I said, I e I want to get into the sports field in general like that's literally what I go to school for right now and everything like that.
And you always learn that you have to kind of take the bias away from things.
And don't get me wrong.
I still am because I will forever be Yankee fan.
I can't, you know, just let that go away.
You know, all the other sports I'm fine with.
But it's it's outrageous, and maybe it's because I'm not a total New York sports fan.
And maybe if I was, I would be like that.
But it's so annoying having to listen to people like people call to radio stations like, Oh, why, when this player want to come here were New York.
You could play in Madison Square Garden.
You could play in Yankee Stadium.
Who cares? The number.
The most popular player in the N B. A.
Is LeBron. He's from Cleveland.
He is from Ohio.
Nobody even listen.
If you wiped Ohio off the map, it might take people in New York a week to find out.
So what is the point? Everything is global now, So So I'm talking.
So, Michael, right now, through through the Internet, nobody you don't have This isn't the thirties where you had to go play somewhere to be known.
They always say, You know what? If Derek Jeter was a Mariner, would he still be is known if he was that good Hebrew and grew up in this generation, he probably would.
Who is the best player? Who's who people know in baseball.
He plays for the Angels, which is, Yeah, it is in California.
It's also the little brother of the Dodgers.
I mean, it Z so annoying, like you don't have to hear it because obviously you're in a different part of the country.
It is unbelievable, trying to listen to.
People speak about teams and especially if they're if they're not playing good.
The Yankees haven't had a losing season in 22 years.
Since I have been alive, I don't even know what the Yankee loses.
He's looks like, and the Yankees will go on a on a four game losing streak.
You gotta fire, Aaron booed.
Why are they doing this? Fire this person Shut up.
Do you even know what you're talking about? Well, that sounds good to say.
He's probably Players are people that have never even played the game like that.
Have no idea of what's going on.
But my thing is, and I'll just say this and it's an MBA related.
As far as the Knicks, the Knicks aren't gonna change anything until the fans stopped going like E because I e.
I honestly think this year, they said Number one was Dallas Cowboys number two Yankees and number three the Knicks as faras the prophet.
You know, as far as Team two of those three teams are horrible.
Two of those teams or three of those teams have a wonderful fan base.
So until the fans will do anything or not do anything until they stop going, then they won't do anything because, I mean, let's be honest.
If you are the owner and you are making billions of dollars from this team and they suck, why would you think anything? B e wanna win? I would wanna win as an owner.
But if I'm doing there exactly if I'm sitting, listen.
The Knicks are awful as we everybody who has ever watched sports knows Madison Square Garden is sold out every game, every game.
So it's not happening.
It's a hang out like it is to show you go there you go there, try to act popular and hope you mean the celebrity I'm telling you right now, that's exactly why every person goes to Madison Square Garden.
I mean, if you think about how many movies are out there that has something to do with Medicine Square Garden or how many or how many movies out there.
If it's a baseball movie at some point in the game or some point in the movie, do they strike out a Yankee to win a game or, you know, just New York things like that.
So it Z but the Yankees And but the Yankees are understandable in that, because 42 years they've been good.
But the Knicks? That makes no sense.
But I will say this back on Cohen just a little bit.
Did you see where he actually has tweeted out asking his fans who he should try to go get? Cohen has been Cowen's been super fund so far.
He's like somebody, uh, somebody tweeted him on Twitter.
I was like I'm banned from the stadium because I said something about the Wilpons and he tweeted that back.
It was like I don't worry, we'll get that taken care of eso like he's like, so he's like interacting with people.
He's having fun.
I think I think he's going to do really good things for the Mets, and it just heard.
I heard that and I said, Bro, he spent the owner for two weeks.
How are you going to say he's a He's failing as an owner? Failing is James Dolan, who can't feel even competitive team with the Knicks.
Failing is the Browns for all of those years? E.
I don't think they'll in two weeks.
I don't think the Browns and the Knicks are felling.
I mean, the dude is making a butt load of money and paying the players as cheap as possible.
Now that's just me looking failing as a team.
He's not feeling businessman, I'll tell you that, right? But I'm just sitting here trying to think I couldn't tell you 23 owners of any team in baseball.
Cashman and Cohen.
Cashman's the G M O S e.
There, I can tell you.
That's right. You're right. You're right. Definitely messed that one up.
But e I know Steinbrenner Cohen.
I know Magic Johnson is a part owner of the Dodgers.
That's a little the only thing I know.
I don't even know the Reds owner E no.
Well, you know, I really don't know.
I genuinely don't know MLB owners.
So this dude has been the owner for two weeks.
And look how much he's out there, like people know who he is already.
So I think it's awesome.
I think he's going to do great for baseball, even like I think he will make some noise and be a social media leader.
And for a baseball to come.
Which is why I think also Trevor Bauer could go there.
It's definitely definitely possible, but we will wrap it up there for this addition off backs up.
But before we go, of course, you know, Michael, I want you to do this one.

What's going on with the names we're trying to rebrand our whole unwrapped sports network.

NFL was football.
Now it z a lot of, you know, licensing and trademark copyright situations like that.
So because that means we're getting big, we get exactly that means we've got to start worrying about things like that.
And when you gotta have to start worrying about that, it's not a bad thing.
